I've seen some bad refereeing performances but tonight was genuinely baffling. Sent a player off then changed his mind and only booked him before the penalty (which was a clean tackle) was taken. Booked 11 players, but not for the games only actual bad tackle or for a petulant revenge kick out of the ball - both of which he gave a free kick for so he must have seen them. Then he sent their manager off, apparently for telling their left back to take a throw in.

I was too dejected after watching Ipswich lose 3-0 to want to pay any more attention to football last night and just watched the video of the manager getting sent off, what a wild decision - was not intentional and immediately apologised which looked to be taken in good grace?

We too have been on our best run of form for years, before last night we were six behind you with a game in hand, implausibly eyeing a bid for the play-offs. On the other hand our finances are sufficiently screwed that there’s talk of a £1m+ cut to our playing budget next year unless something happens like a player sale. We already have the lowest playing budget in the division apparently.

I mean if we scraped the play-offs and went up it would probably solve our financial woes for a year or two but we’d likely achieve a record low points score in the champo
