CB: John Terry - Carvalho instead

S: Alan Shearer - come on, I fucking hate Thierry Henry and even I know he should be in this team over Shearer. So should Van Nistelrooy. Even Rooney would be better.

These two seem the most obvious to me. Terry has heart or whatever they call it; deeply sociopathic criminal tendencies but he's a good captain when he's not out of his friggin mind. Henry had a petulance at Arsenal that used to drive me crazy. Yes, he was an attacking player but if he didn't get any service, he would be nowhere to be seen; the opposite of Rooney for example who can be spied on the pitch in any number of weird places fighting for 'his' ball. It's a hard one 'cause I liked Shearer at points but if I had to choose between having Terry or Carvalho and having Shearer and even any number of other big lugs up front, I'd still probably opt for someone else up front.

Yr rant is fun but mainly nonsensical.

Too many of yr alternatives had patchy decades, with one or two good seasons.

Scholes better than fabregas for prob 7 years of the decade, that's being kind

Vieira kind of disappeared soon after the invincibles, would have no prob placing gerrard ahead of him or keane for the time period in question, tho both were better players at their peak.

Pires got a player of the year, the year he deserved it. His dad wouldn't have him ahead of giggs here.

Terry is a slag but it's him or ferdinand, hon mention to carvalho and imo hyypia. None of the others were good enough for long enough, off the top of my head

Hasselbaink ahead of many of yr strikers.

Strikers not mentioned yet- keane, berbatov

Shearer's the ultimate English Centre Forward, so I can see why he's included

no english striker since him can tick as many boxes tho (rooney has more flair but nowhere near as reliable), may not see his like again?

still wouldn't have him in ahead of Henry or RVP tho

Hard to say how good ronaldo would be without Rooney?

Seems to be coping well enough without him at the moment. I'd say his real problem would be playing second fiddle to Drogba and Henry.
