Player draft sounds interesting, how would it work?

Same scoring rules, also the player valuations and the £100m budget. Ideally the draft would be held just before the first week of fixtures, but squads wouldn't be locked in until 1 September, so the frenzied activity of the last week in August is nicely paralleled. No transfers until January allows you to repent at leisure.

and how would we bid?

Draft order chosen at random, but alternating each round. If you're drawn 8th in a league of 10 teams, you'll pick 3rd alternating rounds so you're not at a disadvantage throughout.

There's no website with these rules hardwired in - we get to make them up as we see fit so there's room for negotiation.

It took a few goes but I've just got in, and just in time - only a couple of hours left.

The head-to-head league's doing well with 13, but the main league's well down on last year. As a reminder, these are the codes:

I still can't log on. This is hopeless. I suspect they'll have to cancel the whole of the first weekend - they can't run it if nobody can access their teams.

It took me about a dozen goes this morning so it can be done - but yeah, hopeless.

The website doesn't even seem to exist any more. I've done some investigating and there are people on football forums all round the country complaining that it's fucked, so at least I know it's not my problem. I have no idea who is in my team: some randomers that I intended to change the day before the season started. But like I say, I imagine they'll cancel the scores for this weekend as nobody can use it. I can't remember if I had joined either of the ILX leagues when I set my team up.

I imagine that's also a bit how Wenger must be feeling.

they'd better not cancel scores. at least most people are in the same boat in that only a little last minute tinkering was denied. we all used the past fortnight or so to actually get a team registered and not wait til the very morning of the season when traffic is going to be ridiculous to set one up didn't we?

Having problems with a league I've set up for another forum I use. People are telling me they've entered the code and joined, but they're not all showing up when I click on the league. I've got 9 listed, even though there are 17 people ed in the "Change administrator" drop-down menu. I've emailed them and am waiting for a reply. Anyone else having similar problems?

Hmmm. I signed Aguero after his early goalscoring feats, and then watched City score five at Spurs but nearly all of them by Dzeko. Yesterday I sold Aguero and bought Dzeko. Dzeko isn't playing, Aguero has a hat-rick with time to add to it.

I've been having a nightmare. I normally start poorly with an ill-chosen team, then spend September and October gradually changing things around before surging up the table in November and December. But this season I've been in freefall for the last month or so - the team has looked alright on paper, but Dzeko and Rooney have scarcely played, never mind scored. In the head-to-head league I was plumbing Ismael-like depths. The only consolation from the Derby match yesterday is that I picked up some points for Dzeko and Silva.

Terrible week for me. Lost my unbeaten record in the head to head. It's all downhill from here.

I couldn't afford RVP in the end so kept torres but tried to tinker my team around to get hazard out and fellaini and jelavic in. Turned out that would have meant 5 everton players in my line-up. So I left it as it was. Jelavic punishing me now, although if Baines and pineaar can work some magic in the 2nd half it won't be too bad.

Hm wanna bite the bullet and finally get RVP into my team. I have £0.2m in bank and 2 free transfers to use. The most attractive option to make it work is to swap out Torres and Hazard and swap in RVP and Sterling. This would mean losing the highest points scoring midfielder though. Actually I guess I could swap out Cazorla for Sterling instead.

Looking at it so far this season RVP has scored 22 pts more than Torres, but Cazorla has scored 19 pts more than Sterling. Should I even bother?

Also less chance of Torres getting rested than RVP. Then again with Utd having already qualified for the CL knockout and out of the Capital One Cup RVP should be playing in the league. I'm putting way too much thought into this.

Not happy with my team but all the under performers are cheapish so to clear enough space to get, say walcott, would take me about 6 moves/4 match days. Couldn't be arsed to even start tbh.

My team had the most points this week. Given that we are about 24 weeks in and there are about 24 teams, i guess it had to happen some time.

still top, just. despite some silly mistakes recently. like getting rafael in for a hit and then watching him start on the bench, come on for the last 20 mins and get booked. and also waiting all season to get mata in on the wildcard and getting rid after one week and a double figure haul. this thing makes you act perverse. and kills your soul.

This week is a pain in the arse. Half my team not playing but can't really sub out the likes of fellani, baines, michu cos I wouldn't be able to swap them back in next week due to their valuation having gone up during the season. Bah!

It looks like I'll only have six players this time. I really should have looked at the fixture list last time round: I signed Rafael and Giggs only for both of them to be rested last week and have no game this week. I lost the will to bother making a transfer this week.

Finished 4th in both leagues. Not bad having spent the first ten weeks around 22nd.

Seconded to all of that. My lads put in a decent performance in the head-to-head, oddly - I could maybe pass that off as a rafaesque season, including the loathing by my own fans.

J Hammond faded badly though, I'm disappointed in him.

I'll take a 7th place finish. Is that worth an Intertoto Cup place anymore?

I shoulda retired at the end of 2011/12. If I sign up for this season it'll give a preview of the feeling everybody gets when Giggs signs another year's contract extension in 2016.
