october's my fav too. i'd "normally" be a winter-is-better-than-summer person but winter here is unspeakably awful because the air is a trapped layer of synthetically coated car exhaust that makes everyone sicker than they care to admit for three months.

when the air is clear and cold though, just after a storm, and it's night time and no one is outside, i'll take that over any summer evening with the possible exception of late spring when lilacs are blooming.

the psychic relief of today's overcast skies and highs in the mid-80s is inexpressible using human language after weeks of relentless sun-and-105-degrees. of course the air is so thick with humidity that breathing feels like scooping ice cream fresh from the freezer but we're supposed to get a front next week that should dry things out a bit!

Southern hemisphere experience: imagine going through lockdown and social isolation during winter. In summer or year round? In summer, that sounds like Flagstaff AZ weather or Lisbon.
Year round: maybe San Miguel de Allende MX? I think you'd want somewhere in the tropics but arid with high elevation. Colombia, Ecuador, Bolivia seems to have a bunch of places where it's mid 70s highs, mid 50s lows but low humidity is bit harder to find.

Summer is objectively the worst season UNLESS one lives far enough north that it rarely gets above 75 F.

It's finally feeling autumnal on occasion here in Philly, and I have been so so so so so so so much happier.

I lived most of my life at 33.87° S and I love summer

44.9778° N and winter is the worst.

I actually liked summer less when I lived in IL than I do living in AZ. Humidity and bugs are more bothersome to me than a month and a half of 100F buttressed by 3.5 months of 90s. Plus there's relief as soon as the sun goes down or by driving 50 minutes to higher elevation.

Well, Nov-April is Minnesota's "hell on earth" for the next decade or two

I was telling a buddy how much I'd rather live in MN than MS and he said "spend a couple of weeks there in Dec/Jan before you make the move."

Dec/Jan is kid stuff ... try the existential dread that creeps in late April when the highs are still in the lower 40s

I don't turn our central heat on in the winter unless it gets below freezing and my office is 47-48˚ in the morning, so that sounds pretty nice.

Looks like we might get an autumn in the South East of England this year, instead of going straight from hot weather to cold/windy/raining like the last few years.

sorry guys. definitely feeling like the beginning of fall in the intermountain west. a big system over the weekend broke the heat. highs in the mid 80s for the next several days and hoodie weather in the mornings.

those first few hints of fall feel exciting and kind of frightening? seasonal changes affect me more than they used to with age.

yeah that kinda sucks. reminds me of the time we drove 10 hours to TN for some delightful hiking and could barely go outside it was so hot so we spent our vacation indoors watching the J6 hearings

It has been hot as balls for way too long. This summer has been disgusting: scorching heat, torrential rain, and toxic air. Which is your favorite?

Of the three, I'm a fan of the scorching heat. Higher the temperature goes, the lower the dew point drops. When it's 95° and the dew point's at 75°, bleh. But 102° and 67°? At least I don't have to change my shirt three times.

I'll take a pair of tight shoes over all three though.
