the first one i tried was nixon v kennedy, 1960, as nixon,(and boringly, with henry cabot lodge jr as running mate). kennedy won in a landslide (333 EVs)

i did some really dumb things, though. they asked me if i wanted to debate JFK on tv, and even though i know the sweaty history, i thought it would look weak if i refused to debate him. so i debated anyway (and got my sweaty ass kicked).

there were a bunch of questions about the civil rights movement, and i felt like an asshole trying to thread the needle without offending the south too much. turns out i got my ass kicked in the south anyway, so i should have introduced reparations and steep penalties for anyone living in a state with a confederate flag on it

what was your strategy?

the combo that finally worked was using Gore & going relentlessly negative at nearly every opportunity. I concentrated mainly on visiting Texas, Missouri, Ohio & Michigan. Of the 4 I only won Michigan but that plus the coasts was enough to eke out electoral victory.

Won in 2000 with Gore/Kerry 307-231. Kerry peeled off lefter leaning voters, I went hard on the “hold your nose” vote, CLIMATE CHANGE. Florida was solid blue.

Won in 2016 with Clinton/Warren 338-200. Lots of class politics (lol), getting Obama to help gtvo, and I won fucking Utah and Nevada.

Balls, pressed post before I could finish. Still can’t win with Dukakis but my highest was around 230 EC votes - which I thought was awful until I saw how many he got irl.

Just won as Hillary, with Booker as running mate; brought Sanders out as much as possible while staying moderate/vague on most issues and going negative on Trump.
