hi everyone, thanks for following the path here to ilxor.com. we're in a safe space now. We're good to go for Antifa meetings, here on ILX with the full and knowing approval of the mods! please bookmark and get ready to plan Antifa actions, collectively. comrades, spread the good news. i think we're finally home.
― Z_TBD (Karl Malone), Friday, 9 July 2021 02:48 (four years ago)
i made some money on a scam today. one of my best ones. i sold a fucking WEBSITE! for $3500. now i'm getting ready to "donate it to local mutual aid", lol. you know what that means - use it for Antifa weapons purchases on the dark web, using crypto. i actually LOVE that shit, it's very useful for these kinds of things
― Z_TBD (Karl Malone), Friday, 9 July 2021 02:50 (four years ago)
a few more minutes til 10 central, what will probably be our regular meeting time, so i'll hold off on introducing our new leader until then.
i think it's someone you'll know pretty well though!

― Z_TBD (Karl Malone), Friday, 9 July 2021 02:55 (four years ago)
sorry, i couldn't wait!!
ned, let's wait 5 more, and then please take us away to the new era of Antifa!

Not a great idea to joke about this imo
― underminer of twenty years of excellent contribution to this borad (dan m), Friday, 9 July 2021 02:56 (four years ago)
maybe this is my trap to identify antifa when they arrive.
seriously speaking, though - if this is suspicious, god help us all
― Z_TBD (Karl Malone), Friday, 9 July 2021 03:00 (four years ago)
alright, here is my apology to the fbi
alright, fine, it's not really Antifa. I can't keep living the lie. I don't actually know anyone who claims to be in Antifa except for me, and I'm always joking because the idea of so much of the country being terrified of an imaginary antifascist is absurd yet real.— Zach TBD (@weinventyou) July 9, 2021

― lag∞n, Friday, 9 July 2021 03:06 (four years ago)

yes comrade, you sure have come to the right place. please, everyone! redistribute all of our gold! a new member! we must redistribute EQUALLY regardless of talent or how much we know we truly deserve it over another!
― Z_TBD (Karl Malone), Friday, 9 July 2021 03:08 (four years ago)
hello i am here to stop patriots by doing tyranny to the constitution, as usual
now let me honk the big antifa clown horn, our universal signal that antifas have been activated in your neighborhood
― Clay, Friday, 9 July 2021 03:09 (four years ago)

EEEEE-YOoonk, it screams into the night
EEEEE-YOoonk
― Z_TBD (Karl Malone), Friday, 9 July 2021 03:10 (four years ago)
i hear the clown horn spreading in all directions. our final city is spreading
i'll probably send this thread to my mom someday as proof that i'm in antifa. hi mom! you can't tell what's real and neither can anyone else!
― Z_TBD (Karl Malone), Friday, 9 July 2021 03:11 (four years ago)
sorry mom, lol. in some ways i was a baffling son to deal with. i'm joking about antifa. everyone's joking about antifa. but...some people don't realize it's a joke
― Z_TBD (Karl Malone), Friday, 9 July 2021 03:12 (four years ago)
which, as dan m is right to point out, is potentially a bad idea for a number of reasons. first and foremost - you can never count on anyone, ANYONE - even in the highest levels of any profession, to have any ability to tell what's real and what is not. it confuses people, even when it really should not.
― Z_TBD (Karl Malone), Friday, 9 July 2021 03:14 (four years ago)
okay, hold up. seriously comrades. I think we need to establish procedures for consensus, as well as establishing working groups. I was not at the meeting where the leader was chosen, and therefore we have a serious problem with regards to inclusivity. Also, it appears that everyone in this thread is cis and white, and except for me, male-identified. I don't think we can successfully overthrow white supremacy and establish a collective anti-fascist state founded on the principles of critical race theory with our current active membership.
in solidarity,
― sarahell, Friday, 9 July 2021 03:58 (four years ago)

weapons purchases on the dark web, using crypto
sounds unnecessarily complex. we could just go to one of those big gun shows, pick up whatever we need for ready cash, and grab a hot dog and a soda while we're there. who's got an all-electric car with lots of cargo space that we could borrow?

hi everyone, the cod pieces I ordered for everybody are in, but it's very important, you MUST pay me the agreed-upon $35 to receive it. I do not do charity, these were expensive to make, and right now, I'm late on my mortgage payment. If you agreed to buy one and don't pay now, your name will be entered into the debt ledger, and any other piece of merchandise you purchase from Antifa.org will have this debt added on top of it.

All this talk about 'fundraising' and 'street markets' makes me kinda wonder which side some of you are on
― Andy the Grasshopper, Friday, 9 July 2021 18:09 (four years ago)
The street market supports families of victims of the carceral state as well as raising money for bail funds for those who remain in jail because they can't afford cash bail. Also, products for sale at the street market are priced according to the relative oppression status of the purchaser. White people are charged more than BIPOC.

ok, meeting topic
the oath keepers leader has been talking about 1/6/21 and what a threat we were to trump's supporters
Rhodes told the Times “I did express frustration that some of my guys went in.” He said he told the FBI that those who breached the Capitol had “gone off mission” and added: “There were zero instructions from me or leadership to do so.”Rhodes has long been under federal scrutiny for his actions on Jan. 6. He’s maintained that the Oath Keepers were prepared to defend against anti-fascists, not take offensive action against Congress. “If we actually intended to take over the Capitol, we’d have taken it, and we’d have brought guns,” Rhodes said at a rally in late March. “That’s not why we were there that day. We were there to protect Trump supporters from antifa.”

In case anyone was wondering I've been keeping notes of every working group discussion? Google doc available here. Please get back to me with edits before next week.
Would anyone like to rotate tasks for our next meeting? Anyone who prefers to be a convener lmk ASAP. I of course am white so I'm available to do all the things no one else wants to do unless you love taking notes in which case please rescue me from electronic documentation hell.
Also I move that we block out a series of 10 meetings in the next quarter to go over bylaws--I know everyone hates bylaws but when our community political education working group is split on whether to partner with that one city agency, you'll be glad we specified organizational practices for non consensus-based decision making.
Also also if a meeting takes place at a meal-time we need to commit to feeding people. Bio needs are real! Speaking of which please turn your cameras on and interact with other attendees in the chat box but also attend to your bio needs, hopefully not at the same time (but no judgement).
I think that's it! Type "stack" in the chat to comment.

just saying, that guy's pants consistently look a little full to me
actually, i lied/suppressed: on my honeymoon in seattle (for a morning en route to other places), i did absolutely clog the only toilet at a very crowded restaurant at brunch -- bloody marys + tons of coffee -- and I did flee the scene. it was humiliating because even when i went in there was already a line of 4 people. people were knocking on the door and i was saying "just a minute!" while desperately trying to fix the toilet. i texted my partner and asked to pay the bill as quickly as possible, and then i put some toilet paper on top of the problem and said "sorry about that" as i walked directly out past the line of people, past the register, out the door and around the corner

bad news antifa!
President Donald Trump said he is designating the far-left anti-fascism movement Antifa as a terrorist organization, announcing the move on his Truth Social platform in the early hours of Thursday morning UK time.It wasn’t immediately clear what mechanism Trump would use to make the designation, and Antifa lacks centralized structure or defined leadership, making it unclear who or what precisely would be targeted.“I am pleased to inform our many U.S.A. Patriots that I am designating ANTIFA, A SICK, DANGEROUS, RADICAL LEFT DISASTER, AS A MAJOR TERRORIST ORGANIZATION,” Trump wrote. “I will also be strongly recommending that those funding ANTIFA be thoroughly investigated in accordance with the highest legal standards and practices. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”

― Proust Ian Rush (Camaraderie at Arms Length), Thursday, 18 September 2025 16:21 (one month ago)
for real though, this is frightening to me.
yes, you can make the point that trump has no authority to do this. and that the u.s. doesn't even have an official "domestic terrorism group" designation. but, you can also point to how lawless and cruel the 'global war on terror' was and is, and oh yeah, to those people in boats in the gulf of mexico who are getting executed at trump's direction with some regularity now, without evidence, without trial. everyone knows it's wrong, but they keep doing it, and the people are dead whether it was right or wrong.
mccarthyism is back and stronger than ever. and you remember what brought it down, in the 50s? among other things, mccarthy being caught lying, a growing awareness among (some) people that they were being spoonfed bullshit by an entire political party, "Have you no sense of decency, sir?", etc? that was during the brief era when there were sometimes consequences for lying constantly. radio could provide some a sense of 24/7 news from around the world, but in general, people were reading the news in the newspaper, the following morning. there was a great lag/delay in the news ecosystem, and maybe that allowed for people to...THINK...for a minute about what they were hearing? and maybe talk about it with other people in their physical community who also had some time to digest news and think for a minute? that era is gone. the massive acceleration toward NOW and reactions NOW means that before you've even heard about the thing that happened 20 minutes ago, there is already a distributed massive counterargument that's echoing through everyone's phones. "Have you no sense of decency, sir?" can never work now, because the person who said that (Joseph Welch) would have immediately been the target of a campaign of total bullshit about why it was actually WELCH who had no decency, etc etc
we have so much more information at our fingertips, which means that so much more information can be manipulated by others and used to confuse
anyway, antifa meeting at the usual spot, next friday!

― sleeve, Thursday, 18 September 2025 20:55 (one month ago)
gah "have to be" dammit, hate having typos in jokes
these are difficult times for antifa. we have to stay so secretive and hidden, even from each other, so that we never, ever communicate or discuss any plans. we’re going to need to lay low for a long while and continue to not do anything, or have any organization, leadership, or accomplishments. it is important that we continue to not even know who we are, if there are members of antifa, or where to find people who are.
― z_tbd, Thursday, 18 September 2025 20:59 (one month ago)
what makes us dangerous is our sense of radical possibility. we are a completely blank slate — and you know what that blank slate can become? words. and numbers. and drawings. ideas. that’s where antifa is going, once we remain completely blank and a nonentity - then we begin drawing.

I think we should vote on whether to ask a mod to omit the word "antifa" from the thread title, so it becomes just "Meeting Thread". In the event the motion passes, we should propose and vote on alternative thread titles. Until the first motion has been voted on, it should be out of order to propose or discuss alternative titles.

President Trump on Monday signed an order designating the anti-fascist movement antifa as a domestic terrorist organization, following through on a pledge in the wake of the killing of Charlie Kirk to crack down on left-wing groups.
The order alleges antifa uses “illegal means to organize and execute a campaign of violence and terrorism nationwide” to accomplish its goals of overthrowing the government and law enforcement.
“Individuals associated with and acting on behalf of Antifa further coordinate with other organizations and entities for the purpose of spreading, fomenting, and advancing political violence and suppressing lawful political speech,” the order states. “This organized effort designed to achieve policy objectives by coercion and intimidation is domestic terrorism.”

The homeland security secretary, Kristi Noem, on Wednesday compared antifa to MS-13, Hamas, Hezbollah and the Islamic State, calling the loosely affiliated network of antifascist street activists “just as dangerous” as designated terrorist organizations during a White House roundtable discussion.
“They are just as sophisticated as MS-13, as TDA (Tren de Aragua), as Isis, as Hezbollah, as Hamas, as all of them, they are just as dangerous,” Noem said. “They have an agenda to destroy us, just like the other terrorists we’ve dealt with for many, many years.”

bad news, someone tracked down the secret origins of our little club. it turns out antifa has its roots fighting against nazis! embarrassing!
the independent is a really good source of journalism, everyone in antifa nation relies on it, i love quoting from it
https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/trump-antifa-portland-pam-bondi-posobiec-b2842048.html
...The quotes came thick and fast from the others around the table. At one point, someone casually addressed an imaginary Antifa member, saying: “You will be crushed by the Constitution.” Just as the Founding Fathers intended, no doubt. The frenzied energy in the room was palpable even through a screen. Influencer Brandi Kruse did a monologue about how she used to “suffer from Trump Derangement Syndrome” and how, since she changed sides, “I’m happier, I’m more healthy, I think I’m even a bit more attractive.”Not to be outdone, in came Jack Posobiec, one of the right’s weirdest hangers-on, who is perhaps most famous for the time he spread the “Pizzagate” theory and then got removed from the pizzeria in question by police for filming a child’s birthday party. Running with the major theme of the hour — that Antifa is definitely, certainly, really real despite all evidence to the contrary, and that everybody needs to stop saying it’s not real — Posobiec made a startling claim: Antifa is so clearly real that it “has been going on for almost 100 years ... going back to the Weimar Republic in Germany.”And look, yes, it is absolutely true that there were anti-fascist protesters in the Weimar Republic. If you’ll remember, those were the people taking issue with the early versions of the Nazis. But it’s sort of difficult to position yourself as the good guys if you’re aligning yourself with the Nazis in your historical analogy. I’m just saying that, if I was Posobiec’s publicity guy, I might ask him to drop that soundbite from future public appearances.

yeah, the giddiness of the radical right over the destruction of democracy and rapid consolidation of authoritarian rule has resulted in a lot of them clearly embracing the analogy of Hitler sweeping aside the Wiemar Republic. they're so excited over the prospect of unbridled power they just can't see a problem in identifying with the Nazis.

Been sitting here like an idiot refreshing the web portal.

you don't see the poxy fule error screen? that's what I got.

when are we actually going to DO something?
― z_tbd, Sunday, 19 October 2025 05:52 (three weeks ago)
there’s been something on mind, about antifa
― z_tbd, Sunday, 19 October 2025 05:54 (three weeks ago)
it’s like…who are we? what are we doing? what’s the vision?
and, i get it, this is not cool, it’s never going to be cool, but WHERE is the documentation? if you’re starting from scratch in antifa, that’s great, you get the 16mm rounds, you get the custom grenades. but then what? what are we doing? health insurance questions, who can answer them? depends on who you ask.
― z_tbd, Sunday, 19 October 2025 05:56 (three weeks ago)
I think we need to get a facilitator and do a visioning retreat where we whiteboard ideas and do a SWOT analysis.
― sarahell, Sunday, 19 October 2025 17:16 (three weeks ago)
Maybe we schedule it for Christmas, because it could be an effective way to continue our war on said holiday.

Comrades Pelosi and Schumer aren’t available that week, unfortunately.

This is a grassroots visioning session… they probably shouldn’t be invited anyway tbh

I signed up for the Venmo option, came through just fine. Technically I feel like it should have been for 2.5 hours rather than 2, to cover the drive time. But I'll write off the other half-hour as a donation.

Ok so I heard there was a big AWS outage overnight. I guess I applaud the initiative of whoever did this, but.
I thought all direct actions were supposed to be approved by a two-thirds margin. Or are we just regarding the bylaws as "suggestions" now?

― This dark glowing bohemian coffeehouse (Boring, Maryland), Sunday, 9 November 2025 23:37 (five days ago)
If we don’t change the use of the building from existing, then would we need a C of O?
― sarahell, Monday, 10 November 2025 05:22 (four days ago)
Like, let’s say less than 10% changes from water tower to office use … and the other 90% is storage … then we would not need to change occupancy, do upgrades and get new C of O?
― sarahell, Monday, 10 November 2025 05:24 (four days ago)

― mom tossed in kimchee (quincie), Monday, 10 November 2025 10:07 (four days ago)
RVs over a ton need to be in a completely enclosed building, the footprint of which cannot be more than 560 square feet, and it has to be in the rear yard at least eight feet from the primary structure and 10 feet from any property line and at least 50 feet from the centerline of the nearest road. But since we are violent anarchists I guess we could place it 49 feet and dare the pigs to come and take it.

Even people who want to burn it all down may require ADA-compliant accessibility features.
Also some of our more delicate members have sensitivity to mold, mildew, asbestos, VOCs, etc., so the Building WG is rightfully concerned with standards.
― putting the cad in decadent (Ye Mad Puffin), Monday, 10 November 2025 14:28 (four days ago)
But there is no rear yard! And how do they know what our RVs weigh?

Well, sure, I'm an anarchist. That doesn't mean we get to trample willy-nilly over zoning regulations. So-called "law" under imperialist capitalism is codified patriarchal white supremacist oppression of marginalized groups, sure, and I think we should resist that in the most effective way possible. For me, that means prioritizing opposing laws that promote white supremacy and oppression. Which means that I second what YMP says upthread.
Zoning regulations, while they exist within a context of imperialist capitalist oppression, do actually serve a valuable purpose. Meeting zoning regulations isn't a matter of capitulating to imperial rule, but a matter of providing for marginalized people more effectively than authoritarian rule can. Who's going to support anarchism if it just means they lose what little protection from tyranny they already have? God, imagine ignoring zoning regulations. What next? Burning down a police station without making sure everybody involved has access to ADA-compliant restroom facilities? Not requiring COVID precautions at riots? Angry mobs are all well and good, but some of us are immunocompromised. Any angry mob that doesn't require AND ENFORCE six feet of space between rioters at all times is just perpetuating capitalist oppression of the disadvantaged.
To be clear, none of this is about you personally. I do absolutely take your concerns seriously, and I think there's a serious argument to be made that focusing overmuch on compliance might undermine our credibility as anarchists. My proposal is that we form a committee to work out the issue and report back to the main discussion. YMP, quincie, would you be interested in joining the committee? Of course we want to do this in a timely manner, so I suggest we'd want to meet twice a week for at least a four week period, to give us ample time to work through the issue. What's your availability?
― Kate (rushomancy), Monday, 10 November 2025 15:32 (four days ago)
OK, wait, hold on, I've had a look at the building and the floor plan. I do think there are serious problems with using this building as a HQ even aside from lack of ADA compliance (which I think _is_ important even though the building is in York and therefore is not technically subject to ADA regulations). Come to think of it, the building being in York might also be an issue. Of course we're a proletarian international movement, but I feel like having to fly over to York every time we want to have an in-person meeting might cause some issues. I mean, if we're going to carry about our radical agenda we have to have regular meetings to set our radical agenda, and I just don't know if I'd be able to make those meetings on a regular basis.
What I'm seeing as a bigger issue, though, is the architectural design. I'm sure you've all read the book _Architecture and Morality_ by David Watkin. I haven't, of course, but I have heard the OMD album. I guess I should at least read the Wikipedia article...
Oh. Oh. My apologies, Watkin is clearly an imperialist shill. I have to agree with noted architect Peter Banham's description of _Morality and Architecture_ as "offensive". Certainly it's at the very least Islamophobic. Well regardless, even if Watkin's ideas are hopelessly bourgeois, the question of _ethics_ in architecture remain. My critique of brutalism isn't based on Watkin's bigoted promotion of white supremacist Western hegemony, but in leftist intersectional praxis. The problem, to be blunt, is tankies. We in antifa have a serious tankie problem as it is. My concern is that adopting a brutalist building as our headquarters might be taken as an open invitation to every defender of Stalin to come by and start bleating their statist dogmas at us. Obviously this would be suboptimal.
When it comes to accessibility to the disabled, I would also like to strongly suggest that we look at the issue through the lens of intersectional disability politics. For instance, we do have to address the issue of invisible disability. I personally have ADHD and audio processing disorder. The ADHD means that I'm time-blind, meaning I have a very difficult time showing up for meetings on time. The audio processing disorder means that I get really disoriented and uncomfortable in a lot of public spaces. Unless we do major structural renovations to the space, the concrete of this building would, I've learned from experience, only exacerbate the issue for me.
Also, can we have the building declared a fragrance-free zone? I have several friends who don't do well with fragrances.
― Kate (rushomancy), Monday, 10 November 2025 15:52 (four days ago)
I should note that I don't totally agree with Peter Banham (not, of course, to be confused with Peter Baynham) when it comes to his take on brutalism, but I would like to note that Peter Cook (not, of course, to be confused with Peter Cook) did find his work to be, per wikipedia, an "absorbing arena of thought", though lamentably this particular reference lacks a citation.

+1 to the tankie problem. We had some tankies trying to exploit the consensus minus one practice in order to block proposals in the Finance WG.
+1 to amplifying intersectional disability discourse. Also, real talk, a lot of our members are elderly, such as Comrade Soros, and Comrade Sanders.
― sarahell, Monday, 10 November 2025 17:38 (four days ago)
Also, some zoning regulations uphold white supremacy… think of the predominance of the single family home and how “family” is defined. There are also regulations that tend to punish the poor. However, considering this proposed site is in the center of a garden, I really think we can determine what is the rear yard or just deem that requirement to be N/A to our project.
― sarahell, Monday, 10 November 2025 17:44 (four days ago)
We could all get married to each other like the Oneida Community to get around the family definition.
― Remo Palmieri: The Adventure Begins (Boring, Maryland), Monday, 10 November 2025 17:47 (four days ago)
It differs by jurisdiction… also if we aren’t using the site for residential purposes, does it matter? Or, if we are installing RVs and modular tiny homes, then each would be its own dwelling unit and we wouldn’t have to exceed the max for unrelated people living together?
