I can't remember if I've read a book about it or not. I think I've collected information ecumenically, through horoscopes, apps, conversation, personal experiences.

Interestingly, when I've spoken to friends who are Deep Into It (that is, people who read charts, a couple of them professionally), that's when more divergences and discrepancies occur. One astrologer reading my chart will not say something contradictory to another astrologer, it's more that there are a completely different subset of conclusions.

xp everyone i don't like is a "narcissist" lol. it's because cancers crave a ton of emotional validation and if someone else doesn't give them enough of it, they're selfish. if there's any truth to the default personality traits of signs i'd argue that a lot of them are things it's really good to try and grow out of or develop a lot of flexibility around. i've had to get into the practice of giving myself all the emotional validation i need so that anything else i get from others is icing on the cake. and ironically it ends up giving me a lot more from others!

here's my full chart if anyone wants to see it. many an astrology-minded friend has noted my number of cancer placements and said "oh no honey i'm so sorry"

Ivy - is yr Cancer stellium in the 7th house or 8th? … with Sagi rising, I am guessing Cancer is in yr 7th or 8th. Cancer in 8th would “make a lot of sense” for a trans-femme <3 as 8th house is about transformation and extreme personal change, and Cancer is peak feminine energy. Either way, you have big feelings and are in touch with them.

If all the Cancer placements were in 7th house: 7th house Stelliums (3 or more major placements in one sign or house) can be challenging because they imply a lot of focus and energy on intimate relationships and can indicate codependency/enmeshment. Because Cancer is a nurturing sign, you are more positively disposed to healthy relationships than if your Stellium was in a “lone wolf” sign.

A potential for momentum/growth comes from the combo of Sagi rising and the Aries north node. Both of these are adventurous and innovating signs … so like, discovering and advocating for new music fits here and can work to draw you out of the Cancer shell, as it were.

Tarot is an even more complicated and esoteric world, and there is a lot more from it to be learned about yourself and loved ones - if you are willing to ignore the superstitions and delve into the archetypes and how they might relate to you.

It is very fun if you are committed to taking it lightly

I had an older strange roommate dude who was seriously into tarot and I had a similar experience where the reading was just spot-on with where I was at that stage in life (mid-20s)... it was uncanny. But it didn't freak me out and I would do it again if it was someone who seemed to really know the cards.. it's all in the interpretation I guess

I don't recommend you have 'seers' read tarot for you, just friends

I would think a stranger would be less apt to lean into what they know about you or your life, no?

When I read tarot for my friends, I ask them to think about a burning question but don’t ask them to tell me what it is. (I think most tarot readers want to know the question beforehand.) I try not to lean into their life

I just then pick a spread that they are comfortable with, often the Celtic Cross, and have them cut the cards with a moment of intention and lay them face down in the order of the spread that we’ve decided on.

I'm no expert on runestones but a common 3-stone setup (l-r) is: 1) a problem, worry or question in your life 2) A suggested suitable course of action 3) the possible outcome if you follow that course of action

sometimes the stones are bad or bummer negative but that doesn't mean you have something to keep you up at night.. it's kinda like the Magic 8-Ball 'Ask Me Later' pane

I'm one of those signs, but I was always the youngest kid in my class by a good margin. My district allowed kids who turned six within the first few months of a school year to enroll in first grade at age five, but it was optional for them and most parents chose to wait instead.

I'm definitely not a deep astrology head, but any time I look up Sagittarius characteristics to see how well they jibe with my life, it's always like I'm looking at a completely different person. I've got the optimism thing, but everything else is foreign. Possibly because it's all a load of shit. Possibly because I'm not self-reflective enough to see how any of the traits apply. Possibly because I need to get a full-ass astrological workup based on the precise minute of my birth and the time zones and that just seems like more information than I want to deal with.
