Recently I have noticed a trend among ILE people.

1. All the women (according to the bras thread) have huge boobs. Wow, I just gotta say it. Wow. Now explain yrselves.

2. The median age seems to be 29. As in I haven't done the math exactly but 29 seems to be a popular age around here. Explain yrselves.

3. How many of you have actual jobs? That pay money? That are full-time? I've noticed a lot of ILxorz seem to be freelance or unemployed. Explain yrselves.

2) 28 and 10 months

3) A job in the voluntary sector that sees me do wonderful work that makes the world a better place, but is poorly paid. I get my reward in heaven, whilst is cold comfort to an agnostic.

1. I'm a dude
2. I'm only 26
3. I have a 3/4 time job, like 27 hours a week, I'll probably end up working 36 hours soon :(. I'm a library assistant, it's a good job as I don't have to sit around typing up reports or go to lots meetings. I mainly do literature searches, order ILLs, catalogue books, think.

1. I have no 'boobs', but my arse is pretty shapely.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 7 February 2003 19:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh yeah - I'm 29, I work in a kind of library and I got accused of having manboobs for the first time ever this afternoon. And I have no testicles.

N. (nickdastoor), Friday, 7 February 2003 19:24 (twenty-two years ago)

You shouldn't have had that facelift, N. They've pulled everything upwards way too much if your testicles are being mistaken for man-boobs. I like your new tie though.

C J (C J), Friday, 7 February 2003 19:29 (twenty-two years ago)

manboobs can be entertaining, though; was it said in a nice way or a not-so-nice way?

if it makes you feel better, my boobs aren't exactly small, and my bassist (who is male) has ones that are fast encroaching upon my size---albeit they spread out a bit more across his girth chest...

(he can't possibly be cool, though---he's never worked in a library! :) )

janni (janni), Friday, 7 February 2003 19:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Manboobs = gay.

Lara (Lara), Friday, 7 February 2003 19:34 (twenty-two years ago)

in what sense?

if you mean as in the sense that men with manboobs tend to be gay, i'd have to say most men i've ever known who've got them aren't. they do, however, tend to be fanboys. but that also might have to do with the circles i tend to hang around in. :)

janni (janni), Friday, 7 February 2003 19:37 (twenty-two years ago)

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Friday, 7 February 2003 20:41 (twenty-two years ago)

teeny (teeny), Friday, 7 February 2003 20:47 (twenty-two years ago)

medium but quite perfectly shaped

Whatever you say, "teeny at bust dot com".

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Friday, 7 February 2003 20:51 (twenty-two years ago)

What don't you believe, Nabisco? The pecs bit? They are solid lumps of muscle. Really. I think I've mentioned my age before without challenge, and my job. Perhaps the not posting during work hours? I do occasionally drop in when I have a lunch hour spare, but not too often, and that's not work hours anyway. I think you must have meant the pecs.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Friday, 7 February 2003 20:54 (twenty-two years ago)

1) ...
2) 33.
3) I normally get paid to write about pop records and comic books. Right now, I'm getting paid to _not_ write about anything. Nice work if you can get it.

1. My breasts do everything I ask of them.

2. At 48 I greatly exceed the average, median and mean age of ILXers, but then I don't exactly think of myself as "an ILXer". More of a tourist.

3. I find myself in the ultra-astonishing position of being voluntarily unemployed and not dead broke. When asked, I call it a 'sabbatical', but "prostrate with exhaustion from too many years of toil and turmoil" would be more accurate. Eventually I plan to return to my profession as a technical writer. If anyone will still have me.

BurmaKitty - If you're really feeling odd, you might want to investigate hiring/bribing/begging another ILXor to answer for you - you'll definitely be making a unique statement.

I'm Passing Open Windows (Ms Laura), Tuesday, 11 February 2003 03:27 (twenty-two years ago)

I probably have the biggest manboobs on ILX. I wish I didnt but even when I was relatively svelte I had them, they will never go, sigh.

I am 29.

I have a quite well-paid job and get away with working very flexible hours.

2. 21. I'm a young'un.
3. I work at a restaurant.

latebloomer (latebloomer), Wednesday, 10 March 2004 19:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Why do an alarming number of male ILXors have boobies?

Allyzay, Wednesday, 10 March 2004 19:25 (twenty-one years ago)

Someone fed them after midnight.

El Diablo Robotico (Nicole), Wednesday, 10 March 2004 19:26 (twenty-one years ago)

Why does everyone keep changing their damn names round this bitch anyway? It's cos of the bitch tits, innit?

Allyzay, Wednesday, 10 March 2004 19:28 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't have male breasts. I'm incredibly thin.

Ask For Janice (thatgirl), Wednesday, 10 March 2004 19:31 (twenty-one years ago)

America truly has an obesity epidemic. Actually though, in high school I was very depressed and gained a bunch of weight from eating too much and not exercising at all. I got the man-boobs from there. After I lost all the weight (which strangely happened as soon as I graduated)the man-boobs shrunk but the puffy nipples remained.

Actually I think that's what I'll title my autobiography: "The Man-Boobs Shrunk but the Nipples Remained: the Story of Latebloomer".

latebloomer (latebloomer), Wednesday, 10 March 2004 19:34 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm just bitching cos I don't log in and thusly cannot see emails/log in names to figure out who anyone is anymore. I'll think like 10 people are interesting newbies only to find out they're, like, Ned using a different name.

Allyzay, Wednesday, 10 March 2004 19:35 (twenty-one years ago)

1) I suppose I do have slightly large tits for a dude my size. But, as before, if my girlfriend was an ilx0r she'd be an ilx0r with very large breasts.

2) 22

3) A temp in a customer support department now, and a still a working musician.

Jordan (Jordan), Wednesday, 10 March 2004 19:36 (twenty-one years ago)

Ned using a different name.

:-(

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 10 March 2004 19:37 (twenty-one years ago)

I finally changed my name to this because no matter what I did (Nicolars, etc) people would still mix me up with Nichole Graham. The email has stayed the same.

El Diablo Robotico (Nicole), Wednesday, 10 March 2004 19:40 (twenty-one years ago)

That confusion is still so beyond me.

Allyzay, Wednesday, 10 March 2004 19:44 (twenty-one years ago)

1. I have boobs, sure (being female, all that).
2. I turned 24 last December (as you guys already know).
3. I have a job (30 hrs/week).

30 hrs a week sounds divine (and of course, to some of the people above my 40/week probably sounds divine).

Jordan (Jordan), Wednesday, 10 March 2004 19:55 (twenty-one years ago)

I used to squeeze 50+ hours a week into 3 days of work, and then had 4 days off. I kinda miss that.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Wednesday, 10 March 2004 19:59 (twenty-one years ago)

Granted that only lasted 2 months and I almost died of fatigue a couple times, but hey, 4 days off!

30 hrs a week sounds divine (and of course, to some of the people above my 40/week probably sounds divine).
I know! I love my place of employment for having flexible schedules such as these so I can work and go to school at the same time. The only thing I give up is a lot of the benefits, but they (a.) have dental insurance and (b.) are paying into a 401(k) for me and that is fantastic.

Many Coloured Halo (Dee the Lurker), Wednesday, 10 March 2004 20:08 (twenty-one years ago)

Haha, I work 40 hrs at the same place every week and have NO benefits!

Haha, I work 40 hrs at the same place every week and have NO benefits!
Ooh, I know of those workplaces. Too many of my relatives have been employed at similar. But yeah, in October of last year my dental insurance (lots of importance on dentistry at my place of employment, interestingly enough) and 401(k) kicked in, and for those working 40 hrs/week or more they provide an awesome medical insurance package and vacation and maternity leave and retirement and on-site day care and... just so much. *wistful sigh* Wish I'd discovered this place earlier. Wouldn't have taken up employment at Hades Corp. then.

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Wednesday, 10 March 2004 22:22 (twenty-one years ago)

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 10 March 2004 22:23 (twenty-one years ago)

No seriously they are. I'm like an 18DD or something

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Wednesday, 10 March 2004 22:29 (twenty-one years ago)

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Wednesday, 10 March 2004 22:42 (twenty-one years ago)

It's too big for my liking.

Both my sisters are like 10B's :(

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Wednesday, 10 March 2004 22:43 (twenty-one years ago)

I sense that you disapprove of the whole concept of too big, di.

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 10 March 2004 22:44 (twenty-one years ago)

yes. its a silly concept. it pains me when women feel uncomfortable in their own bodies.

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Wednesday, 10 March 2004 22:46 (twenty-one years ago)

sometimes when large busts cause back pains and other problems that can be a case of "too big" and understandable discomfort.

Ask For Janice (thatgirl), Wednesday, 10 March 2004 22:47 (twenty-one years ago)

yes. but it also bugs me when people assume a woman might suffer from those things just cos shes well endowed.

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Wednesday, 10 March 2004 22:49 (twenty-one years ago)

it bothers you when people might assume something?

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 10 March 2004 22:51 (twenty-one years ago)

yes i do have a personal take on this matter, but i'd rather not talk about it in terms of my OWN breasts, it freaks me out.

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Wednesday, 10 March 2004 22:54 (twenty-one years ago)

actually its kind of funny how defensive i get whenever these boob/bra threads pop up.

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Wednesday, 10 March 2004 22:58 (twenty-one years ago)

Have they invented a pop-up bra yet?

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 10 March 2004 23:04 (twenty-one years ago)

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Wednesday, 10 March 2004 23:06 (twenty-one years ago)

I only have Factiva and Dialog these days, sadly. When we cancelled our contract I tried to draw attention to the loss of key sources like 'Bra Bulletin' but my concerns were overruled.

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 10 March 2004 23:06 (twenty-one years ago)
