Cos they decided to get married, apparently on the Sands of Camber, last weekend.

(Perhaps thats why Chris said "this year was so not about the music"??????)

If the wedding takes place next Easter, Pam & I will be 26 years ahead of you. May you both be as happy if not more so than us.

Mooro (Mooro), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 20:41 (twenty-two years ago)

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 20:48 (twenty-two years ago)

Fabulous news (it rather slipped out at the FAP yesterday, in fact). You are wonderful people and I'm sure you'll be fantastically happy together!

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 20:50 (twenty-two years ago)

so, does anyone know where we can get a nice ring from?

And cheers everyone, FAPS will happen on various continents to celebrate.

chris (chris), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 20:52 (twenty-two years ago)

Congratulations Chris and Vicky!

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 20:53 (twenty-two years ago)

there are SO MANY jewellers in Oxford! it's incredible...there are two within 20 metres of each other and a third one is opening next to one of the existing ones.

MarkH (MarkH), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 20:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Mark, we walked the length of Hatton Garden this afternoon! and then Oxford circus and Bond street. BUt Oxford may well get visited.

chris (chris), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 20:57 (twenty-two years ago)

Terrific news!! (actually I heard it earlier this evening but still).

Mooro's announcement is tantalisingly vague. Are you actually going to get married on the beach?

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 20:58 (twenty-two years ago)

No we're going to get married in a park, one quite central, hopefully.

chris (chris), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 20:59 (twenty-two years ago)

allyC told about and that he felt bad that he hadn't heard/understood when it was first annouced and that he hadn't congratulated you both properly.

congratulations to you both!

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 21:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Not Primose Hill!?

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 21:01 (twenty-two years ago)

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 21:01 (twenty-two years ago)

Central Park, New York?

MarkH (MarkH), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 21:01 (twenty-two years ago)

That Mr Hester, he quite clever

chris (chris), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 21:01 (twenty-two years ago)

Sorry for vagueness. Vagues sur la plage. The decision or proposal was on the beach, the wedding to take place in NYC. Next April.

No more tantalus.

Mooro (Mooro), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 21:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Congratulations!

Nicole (Nicole), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 21:02 (twenty-two years ago)

NYC is madness! But I like it.

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 21:03 (twenty-two years ago)

he quite clever

not as clever as James, a Sales Assistant from London, sadly.....

MarkH (MarkH), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 21:03 (twenty-two years ago)

NYC pre-wedding FAP then?
(Warning: potential Ruination on hitherto-unseen scale)

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 21:04 (twenty-two years ago)

Whoohoo! Marital bliss rah! Congratulations indeed. :-)

Schedule the prewedding FAP in NYC for July 4. ;-)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 21:05 (twenty-two years ago)

Not Madness N., but cheaper than getting all families from miles around to some place round here.

ok, maybe we're a little CRAYZEEEEEEEEEE

chris (chris), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 21:06 (twenty-two years ago)

Brilliant news Chris, congratulations.

Cozen (Cozen), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 21:11 (twenty-two years ago)

Waaaaaah so unfair you're getting married on foreign shores and loads of us won't get to see first-hand how pretty you'll both be looking. Or catch the bouquet, ho ho.

But ENORMOUS congratulations on the wonderfulness of this development.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 08:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Haha that should have been ENORMOUS!

Liz :x (Liz :x), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 08:09 (twenty-two years ago)

ENORMOUS

MarkH (MarkH), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 08:14 (twenty-two years ago)

I bet Gene fan James has even bigger text. Ahem.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 08:17 (twenty-two years ago)

Congratulations!!

smee (smee), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 08:19 (twenty-two years ago)

This is great! Congratulations!

My girlfriend is still pissed at me for not proposing "the right way".

We did Bond Street, Oxford Street, Hatton Garden, and all the rings looked the same. But she designed her ring and we put a diamond in that is kind of a family heirloom of mine. Hooray for creativity!

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 08:24 (twenty-two years ago)

Congratulations Chris & Vicky. Is this the first ILx wedding? (Two regular posers?)

Pete (Pete), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 08:27 (twenty-two years ago)

haha.

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 08:28 (twenty-two years ago)

haha

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 08:28 (twenty-two years ago)

You did mean to say "two regular posters", didn't you?

Anyway, RAH! Congratulations Chris and Vicky. That has made my day.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 08:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Um - yes posters.

Only Cabbage is a regular poser - haha.

Pete (Pete), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 08:33 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm so happy the piles of paper on my desk, chock-a-block email in tray, and people lining up to ask me things after my mini-break aren't geting me down at all, I still have a grin on my face!

Vicky (Vicky), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 08:37 (twenty-two years ago)

Congratulations (and jubilations) to the both of you!

robster (robster), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 08:47 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh, you guys! I'm wellin' up here!

Congravickyandchrisilations!

Michael Jones (MichaelJ), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 08:57 (twenty-two years ago)

huzza!

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 09:02 (twenty-two years ago)

'raaaY!

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 09:04 (twenty-two years ago)

A hellish day of work is being made a lot better by all you lot and the nice people here who would much rather hear about fun things like engagements than boring work stuff.

chris (chris), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 09:04 (twenty-two years ago)

Congratulations Chris and Vicky! I shall be in Central Park with knobs on (as part of a morris-dancing convention, obv), and demand to meet the New York ILX pose in full effect :)

Mark C (Mark C), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 09:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Would that be the New York regular pose?

Liz :x (Liz :x), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 10:07 (twenty-two years ago)

There's some kind of hive-mind Freudian typo thing going on here.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 10:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh my God! That's brilliant. Congratualtions you two. Damn good job you stopped all that platonic shit isn't it?

Anna (Anna), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 10:10 (twenty-two years ago)

A pose by another name would smell as sweet.

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 10:13 (twenty-two years ago)

The Poseman Always Rings Twice

Liz :x (Liz :x), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 10:14 (twenty-two years ago)

Congrats to u both!!!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 10:16 (twenty-two years ago)

Gorblimey! Congratulations and so forth to the both of you!

RickyT (RickyT), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 10:42 (twenty-two years ago)

CONGRATULATIONS! May the union be blessed etc... Blimey was Jim o'Rourke's set SO BAD you had to decide to get married to avoid it?

alext (alext), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 12:16 (twenty-two years ago)

Congrats!!! :)

Sarah McLUsky (coco), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 12:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Anna, if they'd stopped that platonic shit too much earlier I wouldn't have been overly impressed... :)

And yes, New York Pose is one of my better typos. Who could disagree?

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 13:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Gah! That last message was from me, not Jerry. Unless there was something truly odd going on this time last year...

Mark C (Mark C), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 13:47 (twenty-two years ago)

Well done, you two! I've said it before, but I thought I may as well say it again.

Madchen (Madchen), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 14:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Incidentally, who did the actual proposing? Details, people!

Mark C (Mark C), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 16:16 (twenty-two years ago)

congratulations, both on the engagement and on the "wish-I'd-thought-of-that-well-I-did-but-didn't-go-through-with-it" idea of doing it on neutral ground. New York! Rah!

ailsa (ailsa), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 16:27 (twenty-two years ago)

Hey Ailsa - you owe me £20! (I realise this is not the place)

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 16:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes, I know that...can I give it to you next time I see you? (I mean I can't give it to you without seeing you, but do you want it sooner rather than later, er, mail me and we'll sort it out)

N.B. this is connected to a taxi fare, not some bizarre Chris & Vicky matrimonial bet

ailsa (ailsa), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 16:42 (twenty-two years ago)

Congrats and gd wishes

Andrew L (Andrew L), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 18:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Woo!! Congrats! Flash that ring around, Vicky!

Mandee, Wednesday, 9 April 2003 18:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Scan your ring and show it to us!

Madchen (Madchen), Thursday, 10 April 2003 11:49 (twenty-two years ago)

when it's found this will happen :o(

chris (chris), Thursday, 10 April 2003 11:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Cast a hoola hoop in gold for the wedding ring!
go to Claires Accessories for the engagement ring!
Congratulations to you both! I love a bit of romance to kick start the day!

nickie (nickie), Thursday, 10 April 2003 11:55 (twenty-two years ago)

Cast a hoola hoop in gold for the wedding ring!

I hope you mean the type you eat, not the type you play with!

MarkH (MarkH), Thursday, 10 April 2003 12:03 (twenty-two years ago)

Congrats you two although I've said it before I'll say it again!

sarah at work, Thursday, 10 April 2003 12:05 (twenty-two years ago)

Scan your ring and show it to us!

In my day, sitting on the photocopier sufficed. :(

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Thursday, 10 April 2003 12:13 (twenty-two years ago)

no, i meant the ones you play with.
as chris popped the question, vicky swelled with joy and so too did her fingers which turned into GIANT MONSTER WIFEHANDS!!!

nickie (nickie), Thursday, 10 April 2003 12:16 (twenty-two years ago)

Has anyone mentioned they ate scallops in champagne sauce at ATP? While the rest of us were heating varieties of Heinz or greasy spooning it? It's a bleeding disgrace.

Madchen (Madchen), Thursday, 10 April 2003 12:55 (twenty-two years ago)

But we saw someone else with an icecream maker! And we had somethign to celebrate....

Vicky (Vicky), Thursday, 10 April 2003 13:07 (twenty-two years ago)

Madchen, we are classy, and fancy.

chris (chris), Thursday, 10 April 2003 14:12 (twenty-two years ago)

and lookie what we got:

http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/brahnie2/vwp?.dir=/My+Photos&.src=ph&.dnm=the+ring.jpg&.view=t&.done=http%3a//photos.yahoo.com/bc/brahnie2/lst%3f%26.dir=/My%2bPhotos%26.src=ph%26.view=t

not what we were expecting to get at all, but we like it.

chris (chris), Monday, 21 April 2003 18:32 (twenty-two years ago)

Very pretty. But then I would say that, it's nearly identical to my wedding band.

Nicole (Nicole), Monday, 21 April 2003 18:51 (twenty-two years ago)

Aw. :-)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 21 April 2003 19:13 (twenty-two years ago)

That is one foxy ring! And L*cy looks foxy in the other photo, too!

Mandee, Monday, 21 April 2003 19:56 (twenty-two years ago)

The girl on the right is very beautiful too.

By why is Madchen staring at Carey's bum??

Proud Dad (Mooro), Monday, 21 April 2003 21:52 (twenty-two years ago)

one year passes...
Right, I'm not to going to bother with putting my best wishes in the middle of one of the NYCFAP threads, so I thought I'd revive this for THE BIG DAY.

Best of luck to Vicky and Chris today. May this be the start of a long and happy future.

(I was too disorganised with getting back from my holiday to remember to give Ally or Madchen a card to take over from me)

ailsa (ailsa), Saturday, 24 April 2004 06:21 (twenty-one years ago)

(vicky, are you going to have to change your email address to mrsvicky now?)

ailsa (ailsa), Saturday, 24 April 2004 06:24 (twenty-one years ago)

I dont really know either of y'all but best wishes indeed, and many blessings!

Trayce (trayce), Saturday, 24 April 2004 06:25 (twenty-one years ago)

What time is the actual ceremony? I am imagining Chris sweating profusely and looking a bit panicky. He can't seem to tie his tie right. Vicky is a model of cool. This is it, kiddoes!

N. (nickdastoor), Saturday, 24 April 2004 10:16 (twenty-one years ago)

Happy nuptuals, folkarinos.

CharlieNo4 (Charlie), Saturday, 24 April 2004 10:25 (twenty-one years ago)

Dave B (daveb), Saturday, 24 April 2004 11:03 (twenty-one years ago)

Hurrah to Chris and Vicky! A pity I couldn't be there, but I am cracking bad jokes in spirit. :-) Rah!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 24 April 2004 11:07 (twenty-one years ago)

I know both, and I think both are wonderful people, and they seem to be absolutely wonderful as a couple too. I'm sure you'll be hugely happy together.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Saturday, 24 April 2004 11:26 (twenty-one years ago)

Have a great day, both of you. Will Chris manage to hear the Liverpool-United score? Maybe best not to check these days.

Ronan (Ronan), Saturday, 24 April 2004 11:35 (twenty-one years ago)

I believe pre-wedding nerves are being settled in the NYC Liverpool supporters pub...

ailsa (ailsa), Saturday, 24 April 2004 11:38 (twenty-one years ago)

Ailsa, I'll have to change it to MsVicky, as I'm not changing my name legally ;0)

I think Chris is abandoning plans to watch the match (which I think is a shame, but I don't know his reasoning behind it, maybe hangover?!) but I'm sure he'll catch it on the radio. I don't think he's holding out for too much from it though!

Thank you for all your kind wishes! It was nice to re-read this thread, but I'd better get a move on and go get my nails done. Blimey, next time I post on ile I'll be a married woman!

Vicky (Vicky), Saturday, 24 April 2004 11:48 (twenty-one years ago)

Enjoy your day, and very best wishes for a long and happy future together.

C J (C J), Saturday, 24 April 2004 12:09 (twenty-one years ago)

Congratulations both.

Strange but true factoid of the week: You are still Mrs even if you don't change your name. Otherwise it wouldn't be confusing enough.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Saturday, 24 April 2004 20:00 (twenty-one years ago)

Congratulations! Is it today?

Cathy (Cathy), Saturday, 24 April 2004 20:06 (twenty-one years ago)

haha!

congratulations! happy wedding!

cozen (Cozen), Saturday, 24 April 2004 21:45 (twenty-one years ago)

an incredible day all round. fortune smiled (see result at Old Trafford for evidence Chris may have done a deal with powers-that-be) perfect perfect weather making the location all the more glorious, an unconventional ceremony but no worse for it by any means. fun seeing passers by stop briefly to watch the wedding, all beaming like the sun, and admiring Vicky's fantastic outfit. the photos should provide much joy. bus tour and reception also brilliant, as you would expect. enough wittering, congratulations already c and v - i'm all dewy-eyed as i type (uh, it's the hayfever really)

stevem (blueski), Sunday, 25 April 2004 04:35 (twenty-one years ago)

Hurrah! I am glad to hear it was splendiferous! :-)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 25 April 2004 04:44 (twenty-one years ago)

Ally and RJG nearly stole Vicky's fursome thunder with their kiltage

stevem (blueski), Sunday, 25 April 2004 04:47 (twenty-one years ago)

They BOTH wore kilts? Oh brilliant.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 25 April 2004 04:48 (twenty-one years ago)

Postcard Records comes to NYC.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 25 April 2004 04:48 (twenty-one years ago)

we saw your doppelganger on the street earlier too.

stevem (blueski), Sunday, 25 April 2004 04:53 (twenty-one years ago)

Congratulations Y'all.

Ed (dali), Sunday, 25 April 2004 07:32 (twenty-one years ago)

Callooh, Callay! Have a frabjous day!

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Sunday, 25 April 2004 11:46 (twenty-one years ago)

we saw your doppelganger on the street earlier too.

He gets around.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 25 April 2004 11:47 (twenty-one years ago)

The street theater that arose from following around the kilted duo was one of many, many fond memories I will have from last night. As soon as my head stops hurting, oof.

Why RJG didn't charge those soused ladies from Winnipeg a ten-spot for taking pictures with him, I just don't know. He has a bright future as a Midtown Scottish rentboy.

Dickerson Pike (Dickerson Pike), Sunday, 25 April 2004 16:35 (twenty-one years ago)

A glorious day (my beetroot face is testament to the weather) with C&V looking a trillion US$. I was so chuffed it just kinda happened, right there, in the turning circle by the fountain on Cherry Hill with joggers, dog walkers and iPod dreamers all lingering to bask in the matrimonial vibe. And then the bus tour! With Larry David/Judd Hirsch-alike encyclo-laconic Brooklynite speed-drawling us through the highlights. Manhattan, eh? Bloody hell.

It's my sixth wedding in the last few years (the fourth Stateside) but...whisper it...it was the best ever!

Michael Jones (MichaelJ), Sunday, 25 April 2004 22:47 (twenty-one years ago)

This thread is exactly what I wanted to read on a Monday morning - sounds pretty much perfect. Congratulations both of you, you both rock and Liverpool beat Man United on your wedding day! That's a sign, that is.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 26 April 2004 07:06 (twenty-one years ago)

(aside) Scratch what I said about MRS upthread, it was completely wrong. I don't know what happened there. You remain MISS unless you specify otherwise. To make up for this faux-pas, here's the list of people in the same boat given by The Economist Style Guide Eight Edition:

Aung San Suu Kyi, Jane Fonda.

OK, I've left one out to make it look better.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Monday, 26 April 2004 07:35 (twenty-one years ago)

hope you two had a fantastic day & and enjoying wedded bliss as we speak! *big wedding hugs*

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 26 April 2004 07:37 (twenty-one years ago)

Belated congratulations! Rick and I did stop in the pub at the time we guessed the wedding was and got quite excited about it, I'm so pleased to hear it went well!

Sarah (starry), Monday, 26 April 2004 07:39 (twenty-one years ago)

Sounds like y'all had a fantastic day. Hurrah & Congratulations to the nu-marrieds!

Anna (Anna), Monday, 26 April 2004 09:28 (twenty-one years ago)

HURRAH! HURRAH! HURRAH!

Well done to C&V for being great and now being proper married grown-ups.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Monday, 26 April 2004 09:32 (twenty-one years ago)

MarkH (MarkH), Monday, 26 April 2004 20:17 (twenty-one years ago)

hey kids, thanks to everyone for their kind words on here, and especial thanks to all thos ethat made it over. I didn't watch the game, there was just too much to do/panic about. But hey, getting the text through that we'd done it was just the start of an amazing day.

It all seemed to flash by in a complete haze, but some of my moments:
blazing sun as Jonnie and I walked up alongside the park in our suits

doing the double take as the ceremony was underway, realising that THIS WAS IT!!!!!!!

the last bridge - several times over (the tour guide was some strange genius figure)

Cutting the pig (I'm sur picyures will be posted of this eventually)

The biggest gin and tonics ever

(warning slushy moment approaching) feeling like the happiest man alive.

Some of Vicky's:

Everyone getting up for the ILx photo - and there being about 15 in it.

Seeing Chris' face at notted double-take moment

Stannding around like dummies after the ceremony. (perhaps everyone was too moved to do anything!)

Once again, thanks everyone, we can't wait for the photos either!

chris (chris), Monday, 26 April 2004 20:30 (twenty-one years ago)

Hope everyone got home ok, we're looking forward to seeing pictures (and we don't need to vet them first, so post away!)

We're paying for the good weather on sat - Miami is incredibly wet, a front is sitting over us, and not shifting at all, which is rather amusing really. Let's hope it doesn't follow us down the keys (quickly touching some wood)

Show us some photos, goddammit!

Vicky (Vicky), Wednesday, 28 April 2004 19:21 (twenty-one years ago)

Hurrah for you both again! :-) The weather will clear, it would be rude of it not to.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 28 April 2004 19:24 (twenty-one years ago)

SteadyMike has a lovely photo of youse here:

http://photos.yahoo.com/tourajsig2

We want more, though!

Liz :x (Liz :x), Thursday, 29 April 2004 09:49 (twenty-one years ago)

Darn, I was going to bring a CD-R into work today and upload a bunch. In the meantime, I rejig the Yahoo folders a bit. Tomorrow, I promise - all long as no one likely to be featured minds.

Michael Jones (MichaelJ), Thursday, 29 April 2004 09:51 (twenty-one years ago)

OK, folks - the link Liz mentions above now houses 30-odd wedding and wedding-related snaps. Well, OK, the shot of Giants stadium hardly counts, but I thought it'd be nice to put that in too.

Michael Jones (MichaelJ), Friday, 30 April 2004 12:21 (twenty-one years ago)

Michael, those photos are wonderful. Except - I really MUST get a haircut.

Ally C (Ally C), Friday, 30 April 2004 12:28 (twenty-one years ago)

Lovely.

I like your hair, Cook.

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Friday, 30 April 2004 12:40 (twenty-one years ago)

Great pics M!

Chris and Vicky you both look gorgeous and fab! Hope the honeymoon is progressing marvellously.

Archel (Archel), Friday, 30 April 2004 12:40 (twenty-one years ago)

Awwww!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 30 April 2004 12:41 (twenty-one years ago)

Awwwwwwww! I went all wibbly just now. Bless your cotton socks, all of you.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Friday, 30 April 2004 12:52 (twenty-one years ago)

Wonderful photos all! :-) And Pete as a statesman is a unique thing to behold!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 30 April 2004 12:58 (twenty-one years ago)

the shot of Giants stadium hardly counts, but I thought it'd be nice to put that in too.

Yes, very nice. Do you have any more where the scoreboard is clearly visible?

Good work with all the wedding photos, Michael.

Dickerson Pike (Dickerson Pike), Friday, 30 April 2004 13:01 (twenty-one years ago)

Aww! Those photos make me very happy. You all look lovely.

robster (robster), Friday, 30 April 2004 13:46 (twenty-one years ago)

wow, everyone looks fantastic! vicky especially looks amazing...the dress is so pretty!

don't you all want to get dressed up in the same outfits and go to a pub in london to show us? don't you?

colette (a2lette), Friday, 30 April 2004 13:57 (twenty-one years ago)

wonderful photos, you both look very glamorous. many congratulations.

stevo (stevo), Friday, 30 April 2004 14:53 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm always wearing a suit, no-one notices.

Pete (Pete), Friday, 30 April 2004 15:08 (twenty-one years ago)

The minestrone suit.

Ally C (Ally C), Friday, 30 April 2004 16:58 (twenty-one years ago)

Michael's photos have an extraordinary ethereal quality, and I seem to be the only person actually there not in any of them. maybe it's for the best as my tie was all wacko

stevem (blueski), Friday, 30 April 2004 18:10 (twenty-one years ago)

I thought that was a style.

RJG (RJG), Friday, 30 April 2004 18:15 (twenty-one years ago)

The minestrone suit.

Talk about the joke that keeps on giving.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 30 April 2004 18:18 (twenty-one years ago)

Is Tim carrying a ...manbag?

N. (nickdastoor), Friday, 30 April 2004 18:49 (twenty-one years ago)

Beautiful. Congratulations.

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Friday, 30 April 2004 18:53 (twenty-one years ago)

Ooh, more photos! Thanks, Mike. I am moved all over again!

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Friday, 30 April 2004 19:04 (twenty-one years ago)

what wonderful pictures - they really capture the spirit of the occasion. everyone looks immaculate. I went 'awww' for the 'awww' pic before I saw that the caption was....

MarkH (MarkH), Friday, 30 April 2004 19:05 (twenty-one years ago)

the 'Security' and 'acceptable face(s) of football' captions had me rolling

stevem (blueski), Friday, 30 April 2004 19:17 (twenty-one years ago)

These were great. I want to get married all over again, but with a fur coat on, in a park. And hasn't Ally C got really (more) photogenic all of a sudden? (what, you mean he's a bloke, etc etc)

Mike, what is that place you are standing at with all the hands?

ailsa (ailsa), Saturday, 1 May 2004 11:07 (twenty-one years ago)

And hasn't Ally C got really (more) photogenic all of a sudden? (what, you mean he's a bloke, etc etc)

It's the hair. He refuses to believe this.

N. (nickdastoor), Saturday, 1 May 2004 11:17 (twenty-one years ago)

Has he improved in real life too (I haven't been out to the pub with you lot for too long)?

ailsa (ailsa), Saturday, 1 May 2004 11:19 (twenty-one years ago)

no.

RJG (RJG), Saturday, 1 May 2004 11:23 (twenty-one years ago)

I suspected as much.

ailsa (ailsa), Saturday, 1 May 2004 11:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Ailsa - it's Fishs Eddy, NYC purveyors of "sturdy-ware", corner of E19th and Broadway, I think. Wonderful place.

Stevem - somehow you managed to escape Pam's Kodak* (possibly because I rudely failed to introduce you and she didn't realise you were 'one of us' until the evening), but I think you're on a few Canon pix, which I'll go through properly this afternoon. I did scan in the best ten of those - you can probably tell which ones on the Yahoo site are analogue-sourced; I suspect you'll be on the restaurant shots which, as you can tell from Cutting the pig, are saturated red and kinda rubbish.

(* - the bulk of these were taken by Pam with a $60 kids' camera - I shall deflect your kind words onto her!)

There are QuickTime movie clips too - again with the Kodak - but I fear I'll bust my Yahoo account if I upload them there. Due to some disagreement between my soundcard drivers and the application, the sound on these clips sounds like it's been reimagined by Autechre but perhaps other folks will have more luck. I'll sort it out next week.

Michael Jones (MichaelJ), Saturday, 1 May 2004 11:26 (twenty-one years ago)

I thought he was looking pretty damn buff last night. Ignore the saturnian RJG.

N. (nickdastoor), Saturday, 1 May 2004 11:29 (twenty-one years ago)

I like the picture of the Redfords, I mean, the Carsmiles.

the bellefox, Saturday, 1 May 2004 13:01 (twenty-one years ago)

N looked very nice last night. I danced to 'I Thought You Were My Boyfriend'! Unbelievable!

If he doesn't get it cut by next weekend, he is dumped.

Madchen (Madchen), Saturday, 1 May 2004 17:38 (twenty-one years ago)

Damn, I was going to get it cut on Monday.

Ally C (Ally C), Saturday, 1 May 2004 17:39 (twenty-one years ago)

I was going to post something so wise that you wouldn't have been able to believe it was realy me.

RJG (RJG), Saturday, 1 May 2004 17:40 (twenty-one years ago)

sp.

Madchen (Madchen), Saturday, 1 May 2004 17:40 (twenty-one years ago)

you mean, you were going to get it cut, this monday, but you will, now, wait, until after next weekend, so as to get dumped?

my wiseness would have been lost, on you.

no sp.

RJG (RJG), Saturday, 1 May 2004 17:41 (twenty-one years ago)

Madchen only wants it cut to deflect other female attention. OK, male.

N. (nickdastoor), Saturday, 1 May 2004 17:53 (twenty-one years ago)

Buy some clippers & do it yourself, or get Madchen to do it for you, Aly.

ailsa (ailsa), Saturday, 1 May 2004 18:15 (twenty-one years ago)

The C or K'k.

Ally C (Ally C), Saturday, 1 May 2004 19:50 (twenty-one years ago)

?and/or?

Michael Jones (MichaelJ), Saturday, 1 May 2004 23:07 (twenty-one years ago)

The C or K'k.

I have to hurt you now.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 2 May 2004 02:03 (twenty-one years ago)

The C or K'k.

D'oh! I just got that, having been scratching my head about it for a while. Weirdo.

ailsa (ailsa), Sunday, 2 May 2004 08:59 (twenty-one years ago)

you're not weird.

cozen (Cozen), Sunday, 2 May 2004 09:01 (twenty-one years ago)

I was talking about Cook.

ailsa (ailsa), Sunday, 2 May 2004 09:07 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm drowning.

Ally C (Ally C), Sunday, 2 May 2004 12:12 (twenty-one years ago)

I got a haircut and now I look like... John Turturro with a haircut.

I forgot to congratulate Chris and Vicky here, so I will now! CONGRADULATIONS ON YOUR GRADUATION CHRIS & VICKERS!!

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Sunday, 2 May 2004 12:26 (twenty-one years ago)

Seem like a nice bunch.

I can't decide which ones to choose for my TEN FREE PRINTS.

You can also get POSTER-SIZE PRINTS.

Chris, this is the most glamourous thing ever done by somebody from Derbyshire ever. You've overtaken Len Ganley. The ILX Leicestershire/Derbyshire border massive salutes you.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Sunday, 2 May 2004 19:07 (twenty-one years ago)

two weeks pass...
ok, here are the photos my brother-in-law took, including a group ILX one! (fingers crossed the link works!)

awesome, thanks Mrs B!

stevem (blueski), Tuesday, 18 May 2004 09:12 (twenty-one years ago)

Lovely photos - makes me wish I'd stayed out of the pub pre-bus and followed C&V down to the lakeside with my camera. The pig ones are great - where did all that even near-daylight come from?

Michael Jones (MichaelJ), Tuesday, 18 May 2004 10:00 (twenty-one years ago)

photoshop mainly ;o)

chris (chris), Tuesday, 18 May 2004 10:01 (twenty-one years ago)

Wow, I had no idea you could do that. He must've had decentish originals to start with, though.

Michael Jones (MichaelJ), Tuesday, 18 May 2004 10:05 (twenty-one years ago)

Cool photos Vicky, you look so pretty!!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Tuesday, 18 May 2004 10:06 (twenty-one years ago)

yeah they were pretty good, but there were loads that were washed out reddish colours. The one of us with Times square in the background started out hella dark though and is pretty clear now

chris (chris), Tuesday, 18 May 2004 10:11 (twenty-one years ago)

Andy had two flash guns, they didn't work for most of the night (which dad noticed, but didn't do anything about, gah!) but the few that it did work on came out ok, which luckily, were mostly the pig photos.

Vicky (Vicky), Tuesday, 18 May 2004 10:16 (twenty-one years ago)

Great pictures, Vicky! Thanks for sharing them with ile.
