As named by Nicole on another thread, and it's about time it had its own thread. Post info, threats of attendance, plans, etc. whatever here, and revive as necessary. Keep in mind that this is not merely a holiday but a holiday weekend, so I have a sneaking suspicion hotel space or whatever will be at a premium...

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 17 April 2003 12:24 (twenty-two years ago)

I think we should go to Hoboken and burn it to the ground, and then throw their tea in the river, I think that's why we have July 4th anyway.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 17 April 2003 12:28 (twenty-two years ago)

i hate you all, u r all gay.

Chris V. (Chris V), Thursday, 17 April 2003 12:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Damn, I didn't know you liked tea so much.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 17 April 2003 12:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Actually, I'm not sure if I'll be in town now. I forgot that my friend Nick's wedding is around then. Then again, fucker hasn't sent me an invite yet...

hstencil, Thursday, 17 April 2003 12:32 (twenty-two years ago)

I'll come dressed up as a pirate.

Chris V. (Chris V), Thursday, 17 April 2003 12:32 (twenty-two years ago)

FUCK YES NOW WE ARE TALKING, THEN WE WILL TAKE HOBOKEN.

For serious, I mean what are they going to do?

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 17 April 2003 12:33 (twenty-two years ago)

I just realised it's theoretically possible for me to go to this, I will be at least on the same land mass. The chances of me coming are slim to non-existent, but it gives me a thrill thinking that I could...

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Thursday, 17 April 2003 12:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Neditee, didn't you say you may make a Boston appearance at this time?

Chris V. (Chris V), Thursday, 17 April 2003 12:34 (twenty-two years ago)

I was considering that, yes. But I think what I'm going to try to do this time around is fly into NYC, go up to Toronto for that Canada Day thing, watch Sean and Bryan's heads flap in the breeze as they eat Kraft Dinner, then return to NYC to watch Hoboken burn to the ground after being defeated by the Dread Pirate Kearney and her minions. I would sneak in a side trip to Boston in all this if I could but I'm not sure I'll have the funds.

The mysterious neditees, meanwhile, are often found floating in pools of warm water in hot climes. They are extremely sluggish and like their leisure, but can be roused into action at points. Their cousins the manatees laugh at them, but they themselves are also extremely relaxed, the sweet buggers.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 17 April 2003 13:29 (twenty-two years ago)

more like "Neditwee."

hstencil, Thursday, 17 April 2003 13:35 (twenty-two years ago)

That is now officially vying with the Evil Cat as the best real creature ever.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 17 April 2003 13:35 (twenty-two years ago)

are you asking to be photoshopped?

Chris V. (Chris V), Thursday, 17 April 2003 13:35 (twenty-two years ago)

NED that was hilarious!

I will be either:
a) living in NYC, and hence, at the FAP or,
b) so sick of living at home and saving money that I enlist in the military.
Since I am a pacifist, I think it will have to b(e) a.

Aaron Grossman (aajjgg), Thursday, 17 April 2003 13:36 (twenty-two years ago)

When haven't I, Chris? ;-)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 17 April 2003 13:36 (twenty-two years ago)

maybe I can convince the wife to take a NYC trip around 7/4. The in-laws are only an hour away by train in Ct. Hmmm.

Chris V. (Chris V), Thursday, 17 April 2003 13:38 (twenty-two years ago)

It's exam week that week, but they don't tell you days until Jun 6. Also I need to get a job first.

However, if Nicole's coming, I can retake the year easy enough.

Graham (graham), Thursday, 17 April 2003 13:51 (twenty-two years ago)

Ally don't go stealing my catchphrases!

I'm not sure if I can make it or not, actually. Word is the family might come up from Virginia for the 4th, in which case rampant partying would be impossible.

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Thursday, 17 April 2003 14:05 (twenty-two years ago)

i'm gonna be in brooklyn most of july i think

Fritz Wollner (Fritz), Thursday, 17 April 2003 14:07 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm pretty certain I'll be at this, yes.

M Matos (M Matos), Thursday, 17 April 2003 14:11 (twenty-two years ago)

If I were to book a flight for Friday afternoon, what time would it need to arrive?

(I'd still need cash, of course)

Graham (graham), Thursday, 17 April 2003 14:25 (twenty-two years ago)

I love that evil cat. Will it be attending the FAP?

I also know a second-hand bookstore (around the corner from the Strand) that had a resident cat the other times I was there. ILX field trip!

I should probably bookmark this post. Whether or not I have a regular job by July 4, I will be coming up from Washington for that weekend. (What's a little more credit card debt between friends?)

j.lu (j.lu), Thursday, 17 April 2003 14:30 (twenty-two years ago)

j.lu, that cat in the bookstore, is it really big and ginger?

gareth (gareth), Thursday, 17 April 2003 14:34 (twenty-two years ago)

The one I'm thinking of is big and tortoiseshell.

j.lu (j.lu), Thursday, 17 April 2003 14:38 (twenty-two years ago)

However, if Nicole's coming, I can retake the year easy enough.

Dude, don't go retaking a whole year on my account! It's not even certain I would be able to go, anyway.

Nicole (Nicole), Thursday, 17 April 2003 14:45 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm planning on being in New York for half of that week, theoretically getting started on jobbing/housing stuff. But there is a very real possibility that some friends here will make me go to Ohio with them instead. I'm torn between the old world and the new.

nabisco (nabisco), Thursday, 17 April 2003 14:51 (twenty-two years ago)

discover Columbus! you'll have plenty of time for NYC

(i say this cavalierly cos i will not be there)

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Thursday, 17 April 2003 14:53 (twenty-two years ago)

I intend to set sail on the 1st of July. < /iwish>

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 17 April 2003 14:53 (twenty-two years ago)

thats the one j.lu, i think. my mum has a picture of that cat. i will get a copy and post (its like totally huge right?)

Chris V. (Chris V), Thursday, 17 April 2003 15:16 (twenty-two years ago)

DISTURBING.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 17 April 2003 15:18 (twenty-two years ago)

He should have his own movie. Like Free Neddy.

Chris V. (Chris V), Thursday, 17 April 2003 15:20 (twenty-two years ago)

poor ned! eaten alive by a manitee!

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 17 April 2003 15:23 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah, yeah. The Neditee gets caught in the waters off of Manhattan around July and needs to get back home. Ally, the pirate is trying to catch the Neditee to make a neditee skin vest. If she does, everyone will blame hstencil.

Chris V. (Chris V), Thursday, 17 April 2003 15:24 (twenty-two years ago)

(NB I think my girlfriend owns the evil cat.)

nabisco (nabisco), Thursday, 17 April 2003 15:24 (twenty-two years ago)

i think my ex-girlfriend owns the Neditee. she keeps it in the tank in the basement. it undulates when it hears MBV.

Dave M. (rotten03), Thursday, 17 April 2003 15:33 (twenty-two years ago)

( laugh) That pic is so sad. Why am I thinking of a mix of grand karma and serious indigestion?

But seriously, if I can juggle my schedule, I'm there! Somehow, NYC will never be the same after we're done....

Nichole Graham (Nichole Graham), Thursday, 17 April 2003 15:38 (twenty-two years ago)

Ned the Hutt, that photo. ;-)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 17 April 2003 16:07 (twenty-two years ago)

you just keep digging holes for yourself Ned.

Chris V. (Chris V), Thursday, 17 April 2003 16:09 (twenty-two years ago)

Well, there's no standard representation of the God Emperor of Dune, who would be the other candidate.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 17 April 2003 16:14 (twenty-two years ago)

Cat of Dune?

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 17 April 2003 16:16 (twenty-two years ago)

If she does, everyone will blame hstencil.

Even tho I may be in Michigan, yeah.

hstencil, Thursday, 17 April 2003 16:17 (twenty-two years ago)

Well, there's no standard representation of the God Emperor of Dune, who would be the other candidate.

Possibly, but then Gods always get toppled in the end by disillusioned worshippers.

Jabba The Turd

Chris V. (Chris V), Thursday, 17 April 2003 16:22 (twenty-two years ago)

I just made myself laugh out loud. Can i post it.

Chris V. (Chris V), Thursday, 17 April 2003 16:22 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh, go on.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 17 April 2003 16:24 (twenty-two years ago)

no its not a photoshopped Ned. Just the Jabba above.

Chris V. (Chris V), Thursday, 17 April 2003 16:25 (twenty-two years ago)

It's all beautiful, m'friend. :-)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 17 April 2003 16:39 (twenty-two years ago)

That thing is sending me into positive FITS.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 17 April 2003 16:41 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm afraid I will be in New England for a family reunion July 4 weekend.

"I'm afraid" = my family is scary

felicity (felicity), Thursday, 17 April 2003 17:41 (twenty-two years ago)

:-(

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 17 April 2003 17:45 (twenty-two years ago)

Looks like it's just us, cowboy. Wear yr hat.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 17 April 2003 17:54 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeehaw.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 17 April 2003 17:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Maybe I'm back in. The folks are now coming up at the end of June instead.

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Thursday, 17 April 2003 18:01 (twenty-two years ago)

Hi! I'm chopped liver!

M Matos (M Matos), Thursday, 17 April 2003 18:26 (twenty-two years ago)

Not if you can put up out-of-towners, Matos.

j.lu (j.lu), Thursday, 17 April 2003 18:40 (twenty-two years ago)

Stop ruining me and Ned's spaghetti western dreams, Matos.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 17 April 2003 18:42 (twenty-two years ago)

Well I'm having a hard enough time needling you NYCers for a carpet to pass out on for Friday night. We'll see abt July 4.

Actually I'm coming anyway. I do actually get paid real dollars, so I plan to pay my own way or something like that. So much for spaghetti westerns (maybe I can get shot).

Millar (Millar), Thursday, 17 April 2003 22:28 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm planning to be there and will probably just stay with friends.

But if Hstencil and Tracer Hand aren't going to be there I don't know if I should come!!!

That Girl (thatgirl), Thursday, 17 April 2003 22:55 (twenty-two years ago)

Hey girl, I just said I was going. What've Hstencil & Tracer got that I don't?

Millar (Millar), Thursday, 17 April 2003 22:57 (twenty-two years ago)

Hmm, should I answer that? ;)

That Girl (thatgirl), Thursday, 17 April 2003 23:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Millar, unlike your military regulation head, I have hair.

hstencil, Thursday, 17 April 2003 23:01 (twenty-two years ago)

MY APARTMENT IS 400 SQUARE FEET, IT'S KIND OF DIFFICULT TO HOST FEED THE WORLD HERE. That's why I work in the hotel industry, people, come on.

Ally (mlescaut), Friday, 18 April 2003 00:33 (twenty-two years ago)

There's a Howard Johnson's on East Houston St. that's probably pretty cheap. For faded grandeur at a relatively cheap price there's the Gramercy Hotel. For more of the same at an even cheaper price there's the Washington Square hotel. Close proximity to NYU students so maybe your best bet.

Mary (Mary), Friday, 18 April 2003 03:23 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh sorry that was meant for Millar's thread. Carry on.

Mary (Mary), Friday, 18 April 2003 03:23 (twenty-two years ago)

I saw the phrases "faded grandeur" and "Howard Johnson's" next to each other and knew it was Mary

M Matos (M Matos), Friday, 18 April 2003 08:24 (twenty-two years ago)

So quick question... Is the MegaFAP just going to be only on the 4th or are we talking a 72-hour, non-stop Hitchhiker's Guide-sized Party Of Doom? In other words, how many drunk/hangover days should I set aside in addtion to my requisite day or so of shambling around NYC?

Just wondering since I'm going to be on my way back home from Spain and I'll probably be a) broke and b) already hung over from cheap rioja.

Chris Barrus (Chris Barrus), Friday, 18 April 2003 09:44 (twenty-two years ago)

like Graham my attendance depends on job/money thing

stevem (blueski), Friday, 18 April 2003 09:53 (twenty-two years ago)

If you get caught between the moon and new york city.....

Chris V. (Chris V), Friday, 18 April 2003 10:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Surely there must be a way to get flights for less than £450?

Graham (graham), Friday, 18 April 2003 13:19 (twenty-two years ago)

I'll probably be a) broke and b) already hung over from cheap rioja.

I have a hunch we'll all be in that boat.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 18 April 2003 13:29 (twenty-two years ago)

Surely there must be a way to get flights for less than £450?

get a fake military ID and ride space-A cargo trips fm one of the joint RAF bases ($30 tops)

Millar (Millar), Friday, 18 April 2003 15:09 (twenty-two years ago)

I found out this afternoon that I'm going to NY for my birthday (July 6 - only 78 shopping days left), and I want in on this FAP

luna (luna.c), Saturday, 19 April 2003 22:27 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm going to wear a gown, I picked it out just ten minutes ago walking home from Potion.

Ally (mlescaut), Sunday, 20 April 2003 06:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Cool! I'll bring the fireworks!

hstencil, Sunday, 20 April 2003 06:38 (twenty-two years ago)

I think we should have it at Potion. It'd be very American Psycho.

Ally (mlescaut), Sunday, 20 April 2003 06:38 (twenty-two years ago)

anyplace I could set off these bottle rockets is fine with me.

(did you ever hear from Millar?)

hstencil, Sunday, 20 April 2003 06:40 (twenty-two years ago)

He lost his cell phone.

Ally (mlescaut), Sunday, 20 April 2003 06:45 (twenty-two years ago)

I saw something to that extent. Too bad.

hstencil, Sunday, 20 April 2003 06:48 (twenty-two years ago)

I mean, I did hear from him, I was apparently one of the last people he called before losing the phone - but I was throwing out my garbage and missed the call. I called back to tell him I was ill, and no answer - then I read th epost about him losing it. I'm bad luck!

Ally (mlescaut), Sunday, 20 April 2003 06:59 (twenty-two years ago)

Luna we have the same birthday!

teeny (teeny), Sunday, 20 April 2003 17:35 (twenty-two years ago)

(and I was going to spend that week with my parents but I suppose I must come to NYC now)

teeny (teeny), Sunday, 20 April 2003 17:38 (twenty-two years ago)

we will paint the town red birthday stylee, teens!

luna (luna.c), Sunday, 20 April 2003 18:03 (twenty-two years ago)

omigod!

teeny (teeny), Sunday, 20 April 2003 18:07 (twenty-two years ago)

we will dress up fancy like.

Ally (mlescaut), Sunday, 20 April 2003 22:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Okay, so for July I don't have any need of a place to crash, but as far as parking goes - uh - does anyone have any suggestions?

Millar (Millar), Sunday, 20 April 2003 22:41 (twenty-two years ago)

Where are you staying?

Ally (mlescaut), Sunday, 20 April 2003 22:42 (twenty-two years ago)

Suck it up and put in a garage. On the West Side in Chelsea it'll run you about $20/day. You might even get lucky and find street parking because it's a sumemr holiday. Manhattan streets are safe as houses nowadays.

felicity (felicity), Sunday, 20 April 2003 22:45 (twenty-two years ago)

Parking on the west side is never good, I find.

Ally (mlescaut), Sunday, 20 April 2003 22:47 (twenty-two years ago)

Sorry you had a bad experience but it's worked out ok for me. Perhaps the bad parking is part of the West Side's charm?

felicity (felicity), Sunday, 20 April 2003 22:52 (twenty-two years ago)

Perhaps the bad parking is part of the West Side's charm?

I can see the sarcasm dripping from that last word like beef gravy from a tipped saucer.

Jody Beth Rosen (Jody Beth Rosen), Sunday, 20 April 2003 22:55 (twenty-two years ago)

I've found that parking during the 4th of July weekend is pretty abundant. I remember going to the Fez near Tower and finding parking right across the street. Also you can always find street parking for free in the E. Village in the resi area. You might have to drive around for 20 to 30 minutes, but I have never paid for parking nor have I ever been ticketed or towed in NYC. Just make sure to read the signs to make sure that your car will be ok overnight or there is no street cleaning the following morning.

Carey (Carey), Sunday, 20 April 2003 23:01 (twenty-two years ago)

I am only speaking from my own experiences. I accidentally left my car unlocked one night at a meter on 8th Avenue and no one even took my CDs. Your results may vary, but parking shouldn't be a worry on a summer holiday weekend in Manhattan. I am just sorry that I'm going to miss the hyperFAP. :(

felicity (felicity), Sunday, 20 April 2003 23:05 (twenty-two years ago)

No, my statement isn't about the theft-possibilities of the west side, more that we always had to drive around for like an hour to actually find a spot. The side streets are packed. I'm thoroughly convinced that everyone in Manhattan is parking around Lincoln Center, because I never have a problem anywhere else in Manhattan. Even on holidays! If you get in early or late it's usually much better for parking, for some reason.

Actually, the proximity to the West Side Highway might be part of the problem. There are an awful lot of cars on Friday/Saturday nights with Jersey plates.

Astoria, on the other hand, is even worse, so there goes the theory.

Ally (mlescaut), Sunday, 20 April 2003 23:58 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh, yes, I see what you mean and I have experienced that as well. The free street parking situation on the West Side can be dicey and perhaps there are better deals elsewhere but I guess I meant $20/24 hours is not such an awful worst-case scenerio if you need to put it in a garage as a last resort. I guess I was imagining people using the car as transportation to New York and then dumping it off for the weekend as opposed to driving around the city but perhaps the latter is what Millar was asking about.

felicity (felicity), Monday, 21 April 2003 00:11 (twenty-two years ago)

The thing is that a lot of people (particularly ILXors I have known!) refuse to park in the garage. I mean, I don't quite understand what is the big deal about spending $20 (it really isn't bad at all if you ask me), but they get insistant on not using the garage. Maybe it is a quest of sorts?

I've never seen anything get stolen from a car in my neighborhood, but at least three times I've been witness to cars being puked on, so definitely don't park near my house, we all puke on cars apparently.

Ally (mlescaut), Monday, 21 April 2003 00:31 (twenty-two years ago)

What's Potion? (I also recommend the East Village for parking if it happens to be near where you are staying.)

Mary (Mary), Monday, 21 April 2003 01:40 (twenty-two years ago)

Mary, Potion is the bar I was at the other night with another ILXor. Hopefully they will back me up on this, but it's the greatest place ever all of a sudden. It's like a bar from American Psycho! Flashy and full of pretentious yuppies and bridge-and-tunnellers. I'd never go there if I didn't know the staff from when I first moved here. Saturday nights, they've taken to playing a lot of 80s synth and pop. It seemed ever appropriate for the FAP contingent because of the sudden über-referencing of Patrick Bateman.

Ally (mlescaut), Monday, 21 April 2003 01:44 (twenty-two years ago)

There are an awful lot of cars on Friday/Saturday nights with Jersey plates.

two possible explanations -- (a) parking sucks in both in Hoboken and Jersey City (plus JC is car-theft capital of the world [no joke!]); or (b) Hobokeners are planning to do a pre-emptive strike on the UWS (cause Ally has threatened to burn Hoboken to the ground!)

and Potion sounds awesome

Tad (llamasfur), Monday, 21 April 2003 01:45 (twenty-two years ago)

We must go to Potion after the debut of the Soccer Ho's on Thursday! Last chance to drink in kneesocks in April!

felicity (felicity), Monday, 21 April 2003 01:47 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh okay I can come as a poser once FR gives kneesock fashion advice.

Mary (Mary), Monday, 21 April 2003 01:49 (twenty-two years ago)

It's great cos it's not a "nostalgia bar" (cf Culture Club, Polly Ester's), which are horrible, lame, and full of 18 year olds with fake IDs. It's an actual bar that, on Saturday nights, seems to have magically transported itself from 1988. There is no "nostalgia", no irony. IT JUST EXISTS IN 1988.

It should be nice this Thursday so we will truly be able to drink in silly outfits. It would've been too cold to do last week!

Ally (mlescaut), Monday, 21 April 2003 01:52 (twenty-two years ago)

There is no "nostalgia", no irony. IT JUST EXISTS IN 1988.

Mullets, Camaros, and spandex too?

Tad (llamasfur), Monday, 21 April 2003 01:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Dude, there was a girl there in white stretch pants, a zebra print shirt, and huge feathered hair last night. She was the most New Jersey stereotype I've ever seen. She was my nemesis.

Ally (mlescaut), Monday, 21 April 2003 01:54 (twenty-two years ago)

she must be from Edison, NJ. that whole town is like the eighties never ended. i'm embarrassed to be from the same state!

Tad (llamasfur), Monday, 21 April 2003 01:56 (twenty-two years ago)

I am wearing kneesocks now

rosemary (rosemary), Monday, 21 April 2003 01:58 (twenty-two years ago)

What a shame nobody informed us of this earlier, Nick was wearing his Member's Only jacket the whole time we were in NYC.

Millar (Millar), Monday, 21 April 2003 02:00 (twenty-two years ago)

= r. is an honorary Soccer Ho'

felicity (felicity), Monday, 21 April 2003 02:01 (twenty-two years ago)

will they play Mick Jagger's "Let's Work" at Potion if one were to request it?

Tad (llamasfur), Monday, 21 April 2003 02:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Quite possibly. I know the DJ, and the guy who inexplicably stands around the DJ booth all night.

Ally (mlescaut), Monday, 21 April 2003 02:03 (twenty-two years ago)

They are striped socks, do those count, felicity?

rosemary (rosemary), Monday, 21 April 2003 02:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Soccer Ho' kneesocks are all about the stripes!

felicity (felicity), Monday, 21 April 2003 02:13 (twenty-two years ago)

two weeks pass...
So what's the deal with this thing? I'm going to book my holidays soon and I want to know if I should try to make them for around this thing. Is it still on?

Bryan (Bryan), Wednesday, 7 May 2003 14:19 (twenty-two years ago)

it's on (preferably somewhere cheap so I can afford to get blitzed).

hstencil, Wednesday, 7 May 2003 14:26 (twenty-two years ago)

Very much on, and I wanted to ask or reconfirm or whatever -- who can offer to help either put up random visitors (like yours truly) or can recommend somewhere vaguely cheap? I'd like to buy my ticket sometime this week and knowing what I can afford will be helpful...

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 7 May 2003 14:29 (twenty-two years ago)

I've got room.

hstencil, Wednesday, 7 May 2003 14:34 (twenty-two years ago)

Well, if you don't mind an odd person shedding hair in your apartment or the like. :-) Thanks! I should ask, do you have cats?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 7 May 2003 14:35 (twenty-two years ago)

No cats, but we might be taking care of the landlord's cat. Don't know for sure yet. If there's no one renting their apartment yet (they're supposedly moving to Italy for a year), and we've got keys to take care of the cat, maybe we could run an ILXor hotel! (unlikely.)

Seriously tho Ned, the 2nd floor has lots of space (the bedrooms are on the 3rd floor), and we have a futon down there. I'd just have to check with my roommates (one of whom posts on ILX and will probably read this) first.

hstencil, Wednesday, 7 May 2003 14:37 (twenty-two years ago)

I will be hosting a pre-FAP party in my hotel room for anyone who wants to be "half cut" before getting to the actual FAP.

Bryan (Bryan), Wednesday, 7 May 2003 14:40 (twenty-two years ago)

Stence, you are a Kind Soul and I thank you. :-) I will drop you an e-mail or AIM and ask for more details; please let me know what if anything you'd like from me in return! Burned discs, a promise not to always talk your ear off...

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 7 May 2003 14:42 (twenty-two years ago)

Or I might just go where the action is...

Bryan (Bryan), Wednesday, 7 May 2003 14:43 (twenty-two years ago)

I may be there for this, plans are in the works as we speak. I gots me a friend who goes to NYU Film School and lives in Brooklyn, so we are planning on visiting him. So the wife would be accompanying me, which means no slow dancing with Ally.

Chris V. (Chris V), Wednesday, 7 May 2003 14:51 (twenty-two years ago)

Dude, I'll come to your preparty, Bryan. Who in this bitch wants to go to the beach!!!

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 7 May 2003 17:27 (twenty-two years ago)

I'll go! To both preparty and beach.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 7 May 2003 17:29 (twenty-two years ago)

Cool. One word of warning: I might not have any pants on at the party.

Bryan (Bryan), Wednesday, 7 May 2003 18:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Yo, im def coming. hehehe. your all fucked now.

Chris V. (Chris V), Saturday, 10 May 2003 23:05 (twenty-two years ago)

Help help! I mean, rockin'. But Chris will shame all of us guys with his alpha-male LURV dancin'.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 10 May 2003 23:09 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, but what are we going to do? Please tell me it involves panties.

Ally (mlescaut), Sunday, 11 May 2003 21:18 (twenty-two years ago)

Panties are overrated. Commando is the way to go.

Chris V. (Chris V), Monday, 12 May 2003 10:28 (twenty-two years ago)

I may be able to go to this, actually.

Colin Meeder (Mert), Monday, 12 May 2003 13:11 (twenty-two years ago)

!!!! Wow! That would rule! :-) You and Mike can have the St. John's reunion and reinvent emo. ;-)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 12 May 2003 13:48 (twenty-two years ago)

...and then translate it into ancient Greek.

Colin Meeder (Mert), Monday, 12 May 2003 14:21 (twenty-two years ago)

I would not hold you back from this noble goal.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 12 May 2003 14:22 (twenty-two years ago)

This is the worst advertisement for a FAP ever.

Ally (mlescaut), Monday, 12 May 2003 14:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Best advertisement for a FAP ever:

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Monday, 12 May 2003 14:59 (twenty-two years ago)

"Not to change the subject," he said as he did so. "But that manatee up at the top looks very unhappy. Like he has gas or some shits."

jm (jtm), Monday, 12 May 2003 15:03 (twenty-two years ago)

Well that's cos he ate Raggett.

Ally (mlescaut), Monday, 12 May 2003 15:06 (twenty-two years ago)

im going to throw up at this.

Chris V. (Chris V), Monday, 12 May 2003 15:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Ah.

jm (jtm), Monday, 12 May 2003 15:09 (twenty-two years ago)

I want to go. Maybe me and Sarah will completely change our vacation plans so we can do this.

NA. (Nick A.), Monday, 12 May 2003 15:10 (twenty-two years ago)

(Is this the point where I get all hstencil and type "Fuck you, Ally! Just fuck you!" Because I could, but I don't really feel a pressing need.)

Colin Meeder (Mert), Monday, 12 May 2003 15:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Hey, don't make fun of that manatee. He's just calm.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 12 May 2003 15:43 (twenty-two years ago)

Hey if anyone is looking into an extended NYC trip around this time I'm subletting my Brooklyn apt for the dates between June 18 - July 9th. I live on 4th Ave in Brooklyn next to a central subway hub that can take you to Manhattan in 20 minutes (if you want to go there, pfft). I have a fairly huge room with its own entrance, its own bathroom, and a door directly outside to a back patio. Email me if you're interested.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Monday, 12 May 2003 15:46 (twenty-two years ago)

get with the program, Meeder. Ally and I declared a truce long ago (at least, that's what it seems like to me).

hstencil, Monday, 12 May 2003 15:46 (twenty-two years ago)

I know THAT. I refer directly to the glorious days of yore.

*OR*

Fuck you, hstencil! Just fuck you!!

Colin Meeder (Mert), Monday, 12 May 2003 16:01 (twenty-two years ago)

so if I take offense to the latter, it means I "can't take a joke?"

hstencil, Monday, 12 May 2003 16:06 (twenty-two years ago)

We'll think about that one and get back to you, hstencil.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Monday, 12 May 2003 16:08 (twenty-two years ago)

It would mean that you certainly can't take this joke, which is your right, so I hereby abandon it.

Colin Meeder (Mert), Monday, 12 May 2003 16:11 (twenty-two years ago)

Someone should definitely rent Tracer's place, so we can throw a monster party in it.

Ally (mlescaut), Monday, 12 May 2003 17:19 (twenty-two years ago)

can i be the lochness?

Chris V. (Chris V), Monday, 12 May 2003 17:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Whatever floats yer boat, baybee.

Ally (mlescaut), Monday, 12 May 2003 17:22 (twenty-two years ago)

Okay, I think I've worked it out so I can do this...

luna (luna.c), Monday, 12 May 2003 17:25 (twenty-two years ago)

i think I may possibly die during this thing. maybe i should consider not coming. ugh.

Chris V. (Chris V), Monday, 12 May 2003 17:41 (twenty-two years ago)

Nobody's going to die, I've already promised not to take anyone up to Riddler's, so it's all good.

Ally (mlescaut), Monday, 12 May 2003 17:43 (twenty-two years ago)

And unfortunately in real life, im quite shy and not really like I am on here. So be prepared for me to sit in silence and awe all night.

Chris V. (Chris V), Monday, 12 May 2003 17:45 (twenty-two years ago)

I think the problem is that you've just not hung out with the NY crew yet.

Ally (mlescaut), Monday, 12 May 2003 17:58 (twenty-two years ago)

If you all promise not to call me mean names, I'm coming.

Bryan (Bryan), Monday, 12 May 2003 18:11 (twenty-two years ago)

Dude, not only am I not calling you mean names, I actually promised to help ya'all Canadians out and have prepared get-out-of-work-free excuses, wtf?

Ally (mlescaut), Monday, 12 May 2003 18:14 (twenty-two years ago)

I will be on holidays, so no excuses are required. People who will get drunk with me and tell me I'm cool are the things I need.

Bryan (Bryan), Monday, 12 May 2003 18:18 (twenty-two years ago)

I promise faithfully to get completely bombed and I will tell you anything you want to hear.

luna (luna.c), Monday, 12 May 2003 18:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Gad, this is turning out to be monstrous, isn't it? How many people are seriously planning on making it?

teeny (teeny), Monday, 12 May 2003 18:23 (twenty-two years ago)

2

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Monday, 12 May 2003 18:26 (twenty-two years ago)

Ned and Ned's hair.

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Monday, 12 May 2003 18:26 (twenty-two years ago)

As I said, my room is large, and I have an Aerobed. My roommate won't mind your shenanigans as long as you buy him bourbon and don't touch his balsamic vinegar.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Monday, 12 May 2003 18:28 (twenty-two years ago)

What happens if the balsamic vinegar gets touched?

Nicole (Nicole), Monday, 12 May 2003 18:29 (twenty-two years ago)

Then my hair attacks.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 12 May 2003 18:37 (twenty-two years ago)

Are Tracer and his roomate planning to make a salad with the vinegar and your hair? Strange meal choice to serve to the ilx massive.

Nicole (Nicole), Monday, 12 May 2003 18:38 (twenty-two years ago)

Only the finest.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 12 May 2003 18:42 (twenty-two years ago)

OK, so if the available crash spaces are running out who want to split hotel room/costs with me?

Chris Barrus (Chris Barrus), Monday, 12 May 2003 19:09 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm down

Millar (Millar), Monday, 12 May 2003 20:13 (twenty-two years ago)

should I bring the big fuckoff olive drab government issue JVC 2x subwoofer b-boy cannon for the preFAP? Or would that just induce fistfights and eviction?

Millar (Millar), Monday, 12 May 2003 20:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Just got hold of a mate's spare ticket, so I might (if luck and fare sales hold) be able to swing in. However, I humbly request space on someone's floor, as well. As I'm small, space shouldn't be a problem;>

Nichole Graham (Nichole Graham), Monday, 12 May 2003 20:26 (twenty-two years ago)

should I bring the big fuckoff olive drab government issue JVC 2x subwoofer b-boy cannon for the preFAP? Or would that just induce fistfights and eviction?

Only if you let me play the Kinski and Guitar Wolf albums through it. Fistfights and evictions are up to everyone else in the hotel, because there's no way they can stand up to the assault.

Chris Barrus (Chris Barrus), Monday, 12 May 2003 21:56 (twenty-two years ago)

FUJIYAMA ATTACK!!

BGHZZTDGHZTBGBGHHZZZTGBGBGHHZZTBGHHZTBGDHDGDHHZTBGHDHZZTBHZGDTBHGZTDDDZHBHZHBDGDZZTZTDTZBDHGTDZZZZT!!!!!!!!!

Millar (Millar), Monday, 12 May 2003 22:00 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm interested in sharing a hotel room as well. Since I want to buy an airline ticket soon (if this all works out), someone should email me if they want to look into sharing a room.
