How is everyone today? What's been happening? Are you truly happy today or are you feeling a bit down? Let's cheer others up & relish other's happiness! :-)

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 25 April 2003 07:28 (twenty-two years ago)

I know this sounds a bit stupid, but I really was just wondering.

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 25 April 2003 07:29 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm as happy as larry, but I feel like shit, but thanks for asking! And yourself?

chris (chris), Friday, 25 April 2003 07:29 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm a combination of extremely UP and slightly down. I'm happy because things with HSA are going so well. But there are all kinds of things that are bugging me. I really went on a tear last night and got all wound up over a little thing, and he calmed me down. But I shouldn't go on pretending that everything is WONDERFUL, TRULY WONDERFUL when obviously there are vast bits of my life that are not my love life which need substantial improvement upon.

Sigh...

So if anyone wants cheering up about love lives, go ahead and ask me, love is a beautiful thing, etc. etc. And if you could cheer me up by talking about ways in which your career and/or artistic exploits are going well, that would be swell.

kate, Friday, 25 April 2003 07:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Hey Chris. Why are you feeling like shit? I am ok ta, bit tired as I didn't sleep 2 well last nite, but glad it's the w/e.

Glad to hear things are well with HSA Kate, I was wondering as I feel I've missed so much over Easter. I can agree with you about love being grand, but as for the rest I can't help you.

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 25 April 2003 07:35 (twenty-two years ago)

Otherwise I'm fine, but all the end-of-semester work I've yet to do is kinda making me feel depressed. Does anyone else suffer from university/college -related stress?

Tuomas (Tuomas), Friday, 25 April 2003 07:36 (twenty-two years ago)

My whole life changes utterly in five days. So, good, really.

Colin Meeder (Mert), Friday, 25 April 2003 07:38 (twenty-two years ago)

What happens in 5 days?

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 25 April 2003 07:39 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm really tired, have sore eyes and have a dodgy stomach. I'm just going to sleep all weekend.

chris (chris), Friday, 25 April 2003 07:40 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm very much in a transitional bit right now -- waiting to hear back from editors about a plethora of writing things, waiting for a check to come, waiting to find out if I got into the grad school in Bloomington so I can figure out what I'm doing for the summer (and beyond, of course). But it's all good. The bulk of that will work out, I think.

I'm also in a transitional bit writing-wise -- the novel I've been working on is reaching the beginning of the middle, so to speak, where there's so much to keep track of that for every hour I spend writing it, I need to spend two planning the next. So I've been doing more side things for when I want to just sit down and -write- -- otherwise, if I leap back into the novel without taking time to plan it, I'll write myself into a corner. Been there, done that.

So I'm ending up with all these short stories and things I hadn't planned on doing, and it's good fun.

Tep (ktepi), Friday, 25 April 2003 07:41 (twenty-two years ago)

i am good. i have a lot to plan at moment, time for rest is at premium

Life moves pretty fast, if you dont stop and take a look round once in a while, you might miss it

gareth (gareth), Friday, 25 April 2003 08:10 (twenty-two years ago)

life's really not too bad right now.

Jody Beth Rosen (Jody Beth Rosen), Friday, 25 April 2003 08:14 (twenty-two years ago)

OK, explain what's happening in your lives at the moment. (OK so i'm nosey, I admit it!)

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 25 April 2003 08:16 (twenty-two years ago)

I am so tired. I can't remember the last time I had a relaxing, doing nothing weekend.
I had a good appraisal at work yesterday though, so that bucked me up quite a bit.

And I still feel ecstatically happy whenever my eyes catch my lovely sparkly ring on my finger and I think about my betrothed

Vicky (Vicky), Friday, 25 April 2003 08:18 (twenty-two years ago)

Aww Vicky that's lovely, I can't wait to get engaged!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 25 April 2003 08:23 (twenty-two years ago)

weather's nice, i've lost a few pounds, i've been doing spring cleaning, my bills are paid, i'm not totally broke, i'm goin' to the kentucky derby in a few days, and as usual i've got lots of music to distract me from the depressing stuff.

Jody Beth Rosen (Jody Beth Rosen), Friday, 25 April 2003 08:27 (twenty-two years ago)

I am sneezing a bit. It is too snotty to be SARS though. I'm tired and wondering if I should sort through some post. I am also thinking it's too early to start looking at recruitment websites. Not too early for ILE though.

I am considering quitting the office thing and working in a BOOKSHOP. No I haven't been watching Black Books too much (but it's a good role model). I am also thinking about going back to being a STUDENT - except the course I really want to do is

a) full time
b) in new cross
c) absolutely pointless and unworthwhile, it being a poncey media and literature course

So fneeeer.

I am also reevaluating my system of FRIENDSHIPS to try and become a better friend and stop being so harsh and rubbish and crap and useless and... you see. To try and give friends support when they need it instead of being wrapped up in my own rubbish/crap/useless etc etc.

And now I am considering if there are BEER plans tonight.

I think I am wearing a stupid outfit. It is a black dress with black trousers. And black shoes.

Yesterday my arm was hurting. I woke up in the middle of the night and realised why. It's because I was sleeping REALLY stupidly. I stopped. I feel better for knowing it is sleeping and not PINCHED NERVES etc.

IN other words I am feeling rambly.

Sarah (starry), Friday, 25 April 2003 08:28 (twenty-two years ago)

Why do cr@ppy f@#king people at work have the ability to just mess your day up with one comment? I mean it's not even 10.30 yet!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 25 April 2003 08:29 (twenty-two years ago)

Because that is life, pinky. Pretend you are the dog in the Smirnoff advert and sing "hey... thaaaaass liiife... thaaaas what people saaaay"...

Sarah (starry), Friday, 25 April 2003 08:34 (twenty-two years ago)

Ha ha, cheers starry. I think I will just live in this thread today.

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 25 April 2003 08:35 (twenty-two years ago)

Alternatively you could try to scratch those parts of your back you can never quite normally reach. Hours of fun, and might also provide yer co-workers and yrself with an amusing comedy "falling off chair backwards" moment!

Sarah (starry), Friday, 25 April 2003 08:37 (twenty-two years ago)

Only problems with that, is that I would hit my head on the wall & would prob manage to wedge myself in an awkward position. All of this would be hilariously funny, except i'm in my office on my own today so there isn't anybody to laugh. If anyone else in my building laughed at me today I might just scream at them! Just email, ilx & the radio for company today.

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 25 April 2003 08:42 (twenty-two years ago)

I can tell you in five days.

Colin Meeder (Mert), Friday, 25 April 2003 08:54 (twenty-two years ago)

Ooh intriguing, I'll hold you to that!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 25 April 2003 08:59 (twenty-two years ago)

How am I today? First up I’m tired – I was downing white wine at a friend’s house till late and when I made it home, there were some loons round (including a top notch guitarist with a prominent UK Electronica band) and everyone was drinking and smoking and watching Neil Young Rust Never Sleeps on DVD and laughing. So of course I had to sit down and join in and start downing the G&T’s. It was lovely, but now I’m paying for it with that dry scaly skin feeling and heavy eyelids. Bah.

But it’s Friday so it’s cool and besides I’m feeling well up at the moment. Yeah, for the last few weeks I suppose I’ve been celebrating some proper excellent news, which has rejuvenated me and fired me right up. But it’s gonna catch up with me, all this hanging out and there’s more of it tonite with my friend’s Birthday drinks. Oh dear.

Anyhoows, things ain’t so bad right now, and I feel all energised and magnetic. Well, I will do in few hours after a few more cups of tea.

Alex K (Alex K), Friday, 25 April 2003 09:08 (twenty-two years ago)

doing okay, thanks. though ive got these dry skin patches on my arms that are a bit bothersome.

phil-two (phil-two), Friday, 25 April 2003 09:13 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm very well, thank you.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Friday, 25 April 2003 09:15 (twenty-two years ago)

Pretty good thanks. My working week starts today which is something of a downer but it keeps me off the booze, which can only be a good thing. I think I might go to the gym in a bit.

Matt (Matt), Friday, 25 April 2003 09:17 (twenty-two years ago)

Not bad thanks - and you?

luna (luna.c), Friday, 25 April 2003 09:23 (twenty-two years ago)

Not the worst, lots of nice new cds which are helping, lots of negative response to my college paper article which is also helping, haha. Also I finished lectures yesterday and am hoping to have a good weekend.

On the downside I have a really bad and mystery illness which is making me very short of breath, it broke into a cough last night but it's a very dry and hacking one, it doesn't feel like a cold and it won't ruin my weekend but it's particularly hard to sleep. I might go to the doc if it worsens.

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 25 April 2003 09:28 (twenty-two years ago)

Ronan, get to the docs.

Hi Luna, I am good thanx. I am glad it's friday tho. Roll on 5 o/c!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 25 April 2003 09:39 (twenty-two years ago)

Ronan, go get sars ruled out. Serious

suzy (suzy), Friday, 25 April 2003 09:41 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't think it's SARS! I am planning on going tomorrow if it's still bad, don't worry! It's a bit softer today I think after using vapour on my chest a few times last night and this morning.

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 25 April 2003 09:43 (twenty-two years ago)

still get to the docs mate, not even for SARS , but that sort of shit is nasty of not got at quickly.

Things have gone tilt at work, and so I'm grouchy too, I need a G&T.

chris (chris), Friday, 25 April 2003 09:47 (twenty-two years ago)

That's how i feel, except i'd like a big glass of red wine.

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 25 April 2003 09:51 (twenty-two years ago)

I need another cup of tea.

Alex K (Alex K), Friday, 25 April 2003 10:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Why do cr@ppy f@#king people at work have the ability to just mess your day up with one comment?

i've had three days of it. people coming up to me, whispering doom, complaining.
i am feeling paranoid and slightly drunk. my future may well be in tatters.

gaz (gaz), Friday, 25 April 2003 10:13 (twenty-two years ago)

oh no, what's up?

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 25 April 2003 10:16 (twenty-two years ago)

sorry to hear it gaz. hopefully things will get better for you.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Friday, 25 April 2003 10:21 (twenty-two years ago)

ah it has been rumoured that nepotism will scotch my chances of moving up. or maybe that was a throwaway comment designed to make me understand the general feeling of uselessness and "i'm not valued" and general fuckupracy about the place at the moment. who knows? what can i do anyway? brown nose? try harder? give up wearing black t-shirts?

fck it. how are you pinkpanther? burp.

gaz (gaz), Friday, 25 April 2003 10:21 (twenty-two years ago)

and you julio?

gaz (gaz), Friday, 25 April 2003 10:22 (twenty-two years ago)

Gaz, that was beautiful! (the burp i mean!) I'm good. Gonna go and meet my boy for lunch which is always a nice event, so things are looking up.

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 25 April 2003 10:27 (twenty-two years ago)

well, its OK at work but i'm feeling tired and down for the last month or so and I don't quite know why.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Friday, 25 April 2003 10:28 (twenty-two years ago)

I have been feeling like that Julio. I have been getting ill loads aswell. Doctor thinks it's stress, which i am inclined to agree with as i am not unhappy as such.

Has anything happened or just a genreal lowness?

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 25 April 2003 10:34 (twenty-two years ago)

I love meeting friends for lunch, it completely changes the day. Gives you a different perspective, and means you can bitch if you want to , without worrying about it getting back to people.

I had a friend who worked nearby, and we always used to do lunch once a week, but she got a job elsewhere and I really miss it.

Vicky (Vicky), Friday, 25 April 2003 10:34 (twenty-two years ago)

what a nice thread. i feel a wee bit better. have fun at lunch pinkpanther.
julio i am working to at least make your world a little brighter ;)

gaz (gaz), Friday, 25 April 2003 10:35 (twenty-two years ago)

Change of plan, no lunch with my boy after all. :-( Nevermind, pass me a drink will u gaz!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 25 April 2003 10:36 (twenty-two years ago)

burp

gaz (gaz), Friday, 25 April 2003 10:38 (twenty-two years ago)

''Has anything happened or just a genreal lowness?''

I am not ill or anything (in fact I haven't had picked up the flu or anything so far, which surprised me).

I think something happened and I know how this started but I don't really want to talk abt it on the board.

''julio i am working to at least make your world a little brighter ;)''

yeah thanks :-)

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Friday, 25 April 2003 10:40 (twenty-two years ago)

Anyone fancy coming down to Cambridge for an hour to have lunch with me?

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 25 April 2003 10:41 (twenty-two years ago)

Julio: I wasn't prompting for discussion (sorry if u thgt that was my intention), was just enquiring as to whether YOU knew why things may be a bit off at the moment. I hope all sorts itself out for you. (hugs from all present!)

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 25 April 2003 10:43 (twenty-two years ago)

I think something happened and I know how this started but I don't really want to talk abt it on the board.

cool man, you need a private ear write me.

gaz (gaz), Friday, 25 April 2003 10:44 (twenty-two years ago)

no no its OK pinkpanther. thanks for all the good wishes.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Friday, 25 April 2003 10:46 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm a bit hungover and directionless today. Got my computer working again (temporarily, I'm sure), and had such a productive day yesterday (the only thing on my to do list that didn't get done was "buy footie shorts"), so I feel okay. And less than five weeks before I get to be in the arms of my beloved, too.

I need a job, though.

Mark C (Mark C), Friday, 25 April 2003 10:47 (twenty-two years ago)

the only thing on my to do list that didn't get done was "buy footie shorts")

ha! me too! I had to borrow some. they had some weird sort of stitched in underpants! euw!

gaz (gaz), Friday, 25 April 2003 10:50 (twenty-two years ago)

I am feeling quite happy, as some ongoing r/ship troubles were kind of sorted out last night and it's nearly the weekend. But left with enduring low level anxieties about money, job, MA, flat, family, health, writing, money again etc etc. Not to mention the emergency dentistry M. had to have this morning...

Archel (Archel), Friday, 25 April 2003 11:04 (twenty-two years ago)

i feel good, but its probably a false alarm.

di smith (lucylurex), Friday, 25 April 2003 11:05 (twenty-two years ago)

I found out last night that someone got my credit card number somehow and used it to buy hundreds of dollars worth of wigs and toupees (wtf? If you're into credit card theft, wouldn't you be using it to buy something a little less silly? I keep thinking the thief must look like Dolly Parton). So even though I won't have to pay for the charge, I still feel angry and ripped off. Plus, my right eye is nearly swollen shut because of all of my springtime allergies kicking in.

I'll feel better when I have some coffee.

Nicole (Nicole), Friday, 25 April 2003 11:05 (twenty-two years ago)

allergies suck! after 26 years of life, last summer, someone decided that they'd let me have hayfever & eczema. How generous! Both are mild, but it's still a pain.

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 25 April 2003 11:12 (twenty-two years ago)

Jesus Nicole - that's harsh but at least it’s kind of amusingly absurdist. I got a call a few months ago one Saturday morning from my bank politely enquiring if I'd recently tried to purchase several hundred pounds worth of electrical goods. In India. I was like WTF?!? The operator went on, "and what about £800 worth of TV and video equipment also in India?" Err, no. What's going on? Transpires some fucko ripped my cc number, but thank Christ the bank stopped it, as they were suspicious as to why I would suddenly be making bulk electrical buys on the sub-continent.

I felt dirty, like when someone broke into my little mini years and years ago and just nicked all my fuckin’ tapes which had taken me ages to painstakingly record and fill with samples and stuff. It’s that feeling of being violated I guess, like nothing is sacred and there’s no boundaries. Any vulnerability is pounced on and exploited, yeah people’s propensity to fuck over their fellows always surprises me, that lack of thought is horrible.

Well, at least you didn’t have to pick up the tab eh.

Alex K (Alex K), Friday, 25 April 2003 11:20 (twenty-two years ago)

That suxor Nicole. Let's form a vigilante squad and go nuts on everyone in a crap wig.

Archel (Archel), Friday, 25 April 2003 11:22 (twenty-two years ago)

*hides*

di smith (lucylurex), Friday, 25 April 2003 11:23 (twenty-two years ago)

I feel...impatient. In fact, I feel almost paralysed by the sheer amount of things that I have to get done in the next month. So I'm spending all my time looking for rare CDs on the net instead. And I feel stupid for doing that. I am also excited to be going to Portugal in a few weeks.

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Friday, 25 April 2003 11:26 (twenty-two years ago)

mmmmm mac & cheese for lunch. food can make me feel better, sad but true!

portugal sounds great!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 25 April 2003 11:38 (twenty-two years ago)

Archel had the same impulse I did! The Nicole Revenge Squad shall practice shock and awe (except we'll do this right).

Right now I am sleepy, having just woken up. Beyond that, I'm pretty well. :-)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 25 April 2003 12:22 (twenty-two years ago)

just had a pint and a brie and bacon sandwich over looking a pond with some canadian geeses and a big fish - now im back at work which aint so bad as it possibly could be

james (james), Friday, 25 April 2003 12:43 (twenty-two years ago)

I am fuckin' PSYCHED bro!

hstencil, Friday, 25 April 2003 12:59 (twenty-two years ago)

I like this thread!

Kate, Any new music projects?
Phil-two , Lotionize!

Pinkpather and others down about work who work M-F, it's FRIDAY!!!
Almost the weekend! Woo hoo!

Work is crappy for me, except (as I mentioned on the happy thread) my boss is on vacation. So today is casual day. I had coffee and a scone for breakfast at my desk. I'm going to get a massage on my lunch break. I get LOADS more work done when my boss is away because he's not here looking over my shoulder. (Also, MOre ilxing. :) )

Tonight NIck and I go to my dad's and his parents meet my dad and we're all staying there for the weekend. SHould be nice despite the rain (I hope).

My bands are fun, but I'm trying to get used to the idea that I'll never be able to go on tour. Drummer's baby is due in about a month. I'm getting too old. Blah. But I realize I still completely enjoy playing in-state shows and giving out CDrs.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Friday, 25 April 2003 13:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Ah, yes. And the love life is going swell. Thanks for askin'.

Sarah McLUsky (coco), Friday, 25 April 2003 13:03 (twenty-two years ago)

hstencil - why are you psyched - it sounds real cool - i wanna be psyched

james (james), Friday, 25 April 2003 13:10 (twenty-two years ago)

james bro dude, life is good:

1. went on an AWESOME date last night (but no details cuz I'm a gentleman).
2. came into work late JUST CUZ I WANTED TO.
3. listened to BIG STAR on the subway.
4. it's FRIDAY.
5. I'm going home to KENTUCKY next week (with a bunch of KICK-ASS ILXors!).
6. it's a SUNNY DAY in New York.
7. fuckin' a, why not be PSYCHED?

hstencil, Friday, 25 April 2003 13:13 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm fired up to get out of here today buy some brew and dance around in my underpants (tighties) when I get home.

Chris V. (Chris V), Friday, 25 April 2003 13:13 (twenty-two years ago)

Work is ok really. Just one person upset me a little earlier, but she has since apologised. Another colleague burst into tears in my office earlier aswell, bcos a family member had died. It kind of put things into perspective for me.
Now I'm just itching to get to the pub after work to spend my last few pennies on red wine before i get paid next week.
Sarah - are they meeting for the first time do you mean?

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 25 April 2003 13:15 (twenty-two years ago)

Chris, you are THE MAN!

Pinky, I may get fired in June, but I'm still PSYCHED! It's only work after all!

hsetncil, Friday, 25 April 2003 13:17 (twenty-two years ago)

Woo hoo, go Chris V!!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 25 April 2003 13:17 (twenty-two years ago)

Yep. Thank god my step-mom is out of town. We don't get along at all. She usually doesn't speak to me when I come visit (and they've been married about 11 years). But, enough about bad stuff. I'm excited about my dad meeting them. I visit them alot in DC.

Sarah McLUsky (coco), Friday, 25 April 2003 13:17 (twenty-two years ago)

hstencil, it sounds like things are good. I like that. Have fun at the Derb.

Chris V. (Chris V), Friday, 25 April 2003 13:18 (twenty-two years ago)

Hstencil, u r def right. Having said that, you have the added benefit of living in New York! I don't suppose you fancy having 2 house guests for a w/e do you?

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 25 April 2003 13:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Wow, good luck with that Sarah, it sounds great.

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 25 April 2003 13:20 (twenty-two years ago)

I got a big place and a futon, BRING IT ON!

hstencil, Friday, 25 April 2003 13:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 25 April 2003 13:23 (twenty-two years ago)

HSTENCIL IS GOD!!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 25 April 2003 13:23 (twenty-two years ago)

as soon as we have cash - approx 2013 ad

james (james), Friday, 25 April 2003 13:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Today is a mixed bag as most days, but leaning more towards the good than the bad.

The bad: the sun refuses to come out, it's supposed to rain tonight, I have a sore throat on a gig-day (but no fever nor any other symptoms...methinks it's just cuz I made the mistake of smoking like 8 cigarettes this past weekend, and I never smoke...cigarettes).

The good: special ladyfriend existing so wonderfully as she does and our lives overlapping in just right amounts, gig tonight in a place we've never played (although I'm worried 'bout my sore throat), great lunch of grilled shrimp/veggie fajitas awaiting me in the office fridge, next weekend = DERBY (ha ha, I have very short drive to get there!)

nickalicious (nickalicious), Friday, 25 April 2003 13:53 (twenty-two years ago)

james - BROOKLYN ZUH REPRAZENT!

(actually yeah I used to live in Queens, but my new place in Brooklyn is much bigger)

HSTENCIL IS GOD!!

That's why everybody blames me. DO YOU SEE?

hstencil, Friday, 25 April 2003 13:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Us mere mortals from the UK (specifically Cambridge) don't blame you, we are just jealous, plain & simple!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 25 April 2003 13:56 (twenty-two years ago)

I feel kind of lonely and bored and disenfranchised... normal day for me, then. I feel a bit better than I have in the past week, which was incredibly lousy. But I guess I'm always starved of attention and a sense of purpose and whatever. I'm really struggling to not let it bash my already low self-esteem... always tempting to beat myself into a pulp about it and have a really low opinion of myself.

ChristineSH (chrissie1068), Friday, 25 April 2003 13:58 (twenty-two years ago)

ah cool i kept on meaning to go to brooklyn to buy trainers when i was last in new york but it didnt happen (what area you in?? BedSty??)

and yes plainly and simply jealous

james (james), Friday, 25 April 2003 14:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Clinton Hill - near Bed-Stuy.

US Airways has NY ---> Manchester fares at $289 for next month so I might come see y'all (y'all being the UK ILXor contingent!).

hstencil, Friday, 25 April 2003 14:08 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm doing OK considering all the shit that's going on around me, life is kinda in limbo at the moment coz I'm waiting on hearing from loadsa people - lawyers, bankers, leasing agents and the like and can’t get moving or make any decisions until then. But I have my fingers crossed and I'm being very superstitious (cue Stevie Wonder...) in loads of other ways too…watch this space….

Nicole, Archel, Ned - There’s a new temp at my office with the worlds worst wig, should I just attack her now or wait until the rest of the squad arrives? Although she seems quite nice really…..

smee (smee), Friday, 25 April 2003 14:10 (twenty-two years ago)

Hey smee, hope all is well in your life & ur not still getting loads of hassle from ur s/o's ex!

...very superstitious...

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 25 April 2003 14:14 (twenty-two years ago)

''US Airways has NY ---> Manchester fares at $289 for next month so I might come see y'all (y'all being the UK ILXor contingent!).''

kewl! :-)

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Friday, 25 April 2003 14:15 (twenty-two years ago)

Hstencil-we could do a house swap!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 25 April 2003 14:15 (twenty-two years ago)

er, I don't know about that. I probably wouldn't be able to come over for more than like 5 days, at most.

hstencil, Friday, 25 April 2003 14:16 (twenty-two years ago)

S'ok was a joke anyway! ;-)

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 25 April 2003 14:19 (twenty-two years ago)

and the place is a mess

james (james), Friday, 25 April 2003 14:22 (twenty-two years ago)

So when there's a 'FAP' do people travel or do they just attend their local one so to speak?

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 25 April 2003 14:22 (twenty-two years ago)

Julio I'd offer you the spare room but Manchester is a bit far from me.....

Thanks Pink Panther, she's still evil, we're still waiting on a court date. My mum and I had a big long talk about it all though and I kinda feel sorry for the woman now - she obviously feels threatened by me.

PS - I'll house swap with you!! Exotic Cambridge.....

I've tried to organise a Glasgow FAP a million times but they're all miserable sods that don't socialise.

smee (smee), Friday, 25 April 2003 14:26 (twenty-two years ago)

today:

pros:
-Talked to my favorite person last night.
-Slept well last night.
-On new medication which is likely to be better than last try.
-Every day is casual where I work, and today is Friday, and I get to wear Chucks and jeans and a t-shirt just like every day.

cons:
-Talked about some troublesome things last night and still have a feeling of general poopiness even though I feel better about them.
-Didn't sleep long enough last night.
-On new medication which is unlikely to really work for a couple weeks.
-I'm at work.

I like when there is a good balance, although today I could stand to err more on the side of happy than I actually am. That said, I do feel pretty good. Better as I get through my morning coffee even.

I'm moving out of my apartment in about a month, so I've decided that going home this evening and turning up one of my amps really loud and playing for a couple hours would be a good idea. I might not have time to do it, but at least my other plans for the evening make me happy as well.

martin mushrush (mushrush), Friday, 25 April 2003 14:28 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm sure she does feel threatened. you prob should feel sorry for the woman, she must have very little in her life if she can do nothing but try to mess up urs! Still, try to keep it together where she is concerned & as I said b4, I'm sure it'll be sorted for the good eventually.

Well I would like to attend a FAP (i think - a bit nervous!) but being in Cambridge, gettinf to London on a Thursday nite can be a bit of a pain, not impossible tho. We have a spare room so you can see how beautiful cambridge is, but def not exotic! ha ha!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 25 April 2003 14:34 (twenty-two years ago)

How about the joy of living near Birmingham? No one round here uses a computer, ergo there's hardly anyone online, ergo no chance of any local meet-ups to give me a chance to pretend I have a social life. :-( (There is a local Blog Meet, in fact, but since no one shows up, it's usually cancelled! No, I never registered... I knew what'd happen...)

ChristineSH (chrissie1068), Friday, 25 April 2003 14:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Would you travel though Christine?

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 25 April 2003 14:45 (twenty-two years ago)

Maybe... but we're really bad off financially atm (our lousy house move situation is kind of jammed), so I have no money to spare right now.

ChristineSH (chrissie1068), Friday, 25 April 2003 14:48 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah I hear that!! maybe we should plan one for the summer & see if we can all save a bot of cash to all meet up! (god maybe jess is right!)

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 25 April 2003 14:54 (twenty-two years ago)

a 'bit' of cash!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 25 April 2003 14:55 (twenty-two years ago)

I hope we'll be in a new home before Summer's too far advanced, anyway. It might mean resorting to renting a place, as this crap-hole is worth less than we thought (due to needing a lot of work done which we can't afford!). Money will be easier then. And I can think more seriously about abandoning my futile artistic stuff and getting a proper job, too... *shudder*

ChristineSH (chrissie1068), Friday, 25 April 2003 14:59 (twenty-two years ago)

NEVER!!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 25 April 2003 15:01 (twenty-two years ago)

"futile artistic stuff" - art is never futile sista.

Alex K (Alex K), Friday, 25 April 2003 15:04 (twenty-two years ago)

fat, old, tired, ugly, useless.

jess (dubplatestyle), Friday, 25 April 2003 15:08 (twenty-two years ago)

but jess we wuv wuv wuv you kisses kisses we are all made of etc.

tweemotherfucker (nickalicious), Friday, 25 April 2003 15:09 (twenty-two years ago)

Well, from a financial standpoint, it's been a dead-end. And being low on money has put pressure on me, and the pressure has drained away a lot of my inspiration, such as it was, and so...

I'm jaded. In principle, I agree with you.

ChristineSH (chrissie1068), Friday, 25 April 2003 15:09 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm sleepy as hell 'cos I only got about three hours' sleep last night, but I feel really damned good.

luna (luna.c), Friday, 25 April 2003 15:13 (twenty-two years ago)

Nicole, Archel, Ned - There’s a new temp at my office with the worlds worst wig, should I just attack her now or wait until the rest of the squad arrives? Although she seems quite nice really…...

Hm. See if any FedEx shipments of wigs come in while she's around.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 25 April 2003 15:40 (twenty-two years ago)

hmm, luna, was it YOU I went on the date with? ; )

hstencil, Friday, 25 April 2003 15:48 (twenty-two years ago)

reasons I'm happy:

1. RAIN, RAIN, RAIN
2. I have some new plans
3. I did some yoga

jel -- (jel), Friday, 25 April 2003 15:51 (twenty-two years ago)

That depends, were there bears?

luna (luna.c), Friday, 25 April 2003 15:53 (twenty-two years ago)

right now im drinking toffee coffee and gettin ready for beer.

Chris V. (Chris V), Friday, 25 April 2003 15:55 (twenty-two years ago)

luna, do you have a belly and a beard?

hstencil, Friday, 25 April 2003 15:58 (twenty-two years ago)

who am I, Santa Claus?

luna (luna.c), Friday, 25 April 2003 15:59 (twenty-two years ago)

hstencil, you'll end up spending at least £40 to get from Manchester to London. A quick search shows that Kuwait Airways have tix for £144 plus tax. And expedia have fares for $317. Unless you especially want to visit manchester, don't fly there.

Ed (dali), Friday, 25 April 2003 16:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Jel did yoga, yay!

(I love it; I do yoga for about 45 minutes a night at least twice a week. It helps me not be such a flake mentally cuz of the concentration/will-power aspects of it, and has done wonders for my balance, breathing, and endurance. Tis good stuff, that yoga.)

nickalicious (nickalicious), Friday, 25 April 2003 16:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Ed dude, is that 40 lbs (sorry we don't have one o' them fancy-shmancy sterlin' keys here, this is Dubya's 'Merica) for a train or a bus or what? And how long does that usually take?

Yeah, I know, I should prolly just buy a guide book.

hstencil, Friday, 25 April 2003 16:06 (twenty-two years ago)

or ask for advice on good ol'Ile

Ed (dali), Friday, 25 April 2003 16:14 (twenty-two years ago)

Smee, only attack if it is a ridiculous Dolly Parton wig. I am convinced it has to be someone with a big wig like that.

Nicole (Nicole), Friday, 25 April 2003 16:14 (twenty-two years ago)

I want to go to Manchester.

Mary (Mary), Friday, 25 April 2003 17:06 (twenty-two years ago)

nickalicious, Do you smoke up while yoga-ing? You know, extra relaxation?

(I just got back from my massage - Ahhh....)

Sarah McLUsky (coco), Friday, 25 April 2003 17:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Mary it's cheap to go but two outta-town trips with hstencil in one month might drive you batty.

hstencil, Friday, 25 April 2003 17:33 (twenty-two years ago)

I have before, but I generally don't. The only times I have, the only thing I really got out of it was that I found it easier to concentrate (or I guess "not-have-to-concentrate") on the rhythm & depth of my breathing.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Friday, 25 April 2003 17:33 (twenty-two years ago)

sometimes I wish all you people lived next door to me.

Chris V. (Chris V), Friday, 25 April 2003 17:37 (twenty-two years ago)

Pinkpanther, we should have an FAP some time.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Friday, 25 April 2003 18:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Chris, DIMHTHTCHJAAY

hstencil, Friday, 25 April 2003 18:32 (twenty-two years ago)

If all that gobbledygook stands for something like "Chris, we wish you lived next door to us too", then hstencil = OTM. If not, the IDKWTFITA.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Friday, 25 April 2003 18:33 (twenty-two years ago)

nickalicious dude read the thread! It stands for "Deep In My Heart There's A House Than Can Hold Just About All of You."

hstencil, Friday, 25 April 2003 18:35 (twenty-two years ago)

I read it, I just completely forgot/flaked/tarded-out.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Friday, 25 April 2003 18:37 (twenty-two years ago)

i am good, going to see throwing muses tonight. so i am a happy camper. tommorow there is much rain in the forecast, so the plan is to start work on making a pedal board.

kephm, Friday, 25 April 2003 18:57 (twenty-two years ago)

Tell me all about the show, kephm! I'm jealous.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Friday, 25 April 2003 18:59 (twenty-two years ago)

I was in a really foul mood, but then I read hstencil's list of reasons why he is PSYCHED and I suddenly felt really good again.

rainy (rainy), Friday, 25 April 2003 20:09 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm in appalling mental shape. I've mentioned trouble with my ex-wife before. We still have no financial settlement, and a court hearing is coming in six weeks. I was going to hire legal representation for it, as being nice and reasonable has just got me trouble. Problem is, I had been left with the joint account, for lots of good practical reasons. And, after nearly two years apart in which my ex hadn't touched the account, I have just learnt that she has taken almost £2,000 out of it in recent months. I would never have imagined that she would do something like this. This apparently is not legally theft because it's still officially a joint account. It means I am broke and indeed running up debts, and cannot afford any legal representation, which gives her a pretty huge edge. She is on benefits, I'm told, and getting legal aid, so she has lawyers.

As you can imagine, this is all very depressing - and it may be kicking me back into another bad bout of the clinical depression I've been suffering for years. I'm trying to fight it off and keep going, but it's very hard.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Friday, 25 April 2003 20:14 (twenty-two years ago)

Martin, that sounds awful, I hope it works out ok.

rainy (rainy), Friday, 25 April 2003 20:19 (twenty-two years ago)

goddamn that sucks Martin. If it's any consolation, for you I'll waive my usual fee and kill her for free. Checkit upthread - looks like I'll be in your country soon anyway, so no travel expenses.

Serious (for a second) - sorry to hear this.

hstencil, Friday, 25 April 2003 20:23 (twenty-two years ago)

Thanks for the kind words. I really don't wish her ill - but that doesn't mean I want her to rip me off and take everything. I am very happy for her to have half of everything, but every time I concede anything she just grabs it and demands more, and I can't continue like that.

(Hstencil, two things: why fly to Manchester? It's quite a long way away! Also, if you need a sofa-bed in London for a few/several days, I have one available.)

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Friday, 25 April 2003 21:02 (twenty-two years ago)

(why Manchester? well why not? true answer - that's where the fare sale's to)

hstencil, Friday, 25 April 2003 21:21 (twenty-two years ago)

thirteen years pass...

fuck. fuck!!

I look forward to hearing from you shortly, (Karl Malone), Thursday, 3 November 2016 07:23 (nine years ago)

luna, do you have a belly and a beard?
