I'm sorry, anything with David Carradine gets a pass.

buttch (Oops), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 20:50 (twenty-two years ago)

I've never seen it myself but for a long time I was obsessed with intoning the title in a mysterioso Eastern European spy accent: "Sssumm-err ov de Mun-kisss."

Try it, you might enjoy it as well.

Marcel Post (Marcel Post), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 20:52 (twenty-two years ago)

(dunston checks in has been used as visuals for dj events I've done some many times)

Minger is a general purpose jock/geordie term for someone who you don't find attractive.

It can be also used as a verb. As in

Gynneth Paltrow mings so mercilessely its a wonder she does get attacke by a winged Brian Blessed with a Queen soundtrack.

Ed (dali), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 20:55 (twenty-two years ago)

She's hottt U R Gay.

I'm annoyed I can't find the original promo poster for the Billy Crystal/Alan King smarmfest Memories of Me, but it was just horrid -- Crystal and Jo Beth Williams framing King, who is wearing a ridiculous lobster costume. All three are smiling at the camera and King has outstretched arms -- or rather, claws.

See, the problem is that, yes Mila Kunis is hotter than Christian Bale (from a het. male pov). But at the same time, the movie didn't feature her flexing in a mirror while getting/fuckking. Now that I've said that I don't know why I did.

jm (jtm), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 21:25 (twenty-two years ago)

haha Dunston Checks In actually screams "SEE ME JONES!! I AM YOUR FUTURE FAVORITE FILM"

No surprise there, Horace! ;)

Is this where you tell us again that you have a small part in an Andy Garcia film that no-one's seen? I think you're referring to the Mamet-scripted LAKEBOAT:

Nordic...

This is the Andy Garcie movie I'm in. It was filmed as Sins of the Father
http://www.cinestudio.it/_uscite_01_02/_loc7/theunsaidloc.jpg

As far as I can tell, it was only ever released theatrically in Italy.
I'm in 2 of the university scenes.

1) Garcia is giving a lecture. Sharp viewers will notice me in all parts of the hall. Since they shuffled us around for each take.

2) Garcia and Teri Polo leave the university. I walk behind him as he leaves the building, and then cross right in front of him (so close that I shoulder-checked during one take). I should be visible. I'm wearing a green canvas jacket. It was supposed to be late fall in Kansas or Kentucky, but was really scorching hot August in Saskatchewan. So I'm probably glistening. That was a fun two days. I made $200 or something, and basically sat around and ate sandwichs.

Horace Mann (Horace Mann), Thursday, 1 May 2003 17:32 (twenty-two years ago)

I think any recent film that has had a poster involving two famous actors, each facing the viewer, with each face cut off by half due to poster size and design, has been a bad movie.

Aaron Grossman (aajjgg), Thursday, 1 May 2003 19:55 (twenty-two years ago)

See, that last one should be redeemed by having Toni Collette in it, yet this is totally cancelled out by having "the writer and star of My Big Fat Greek Wedding" as the main selling point.

max, Thursday, 5 June 2008 17:46 (seventeen years ago)

"me and her, in a movie! You know it makes sense!"

admrl, Thursday, 5 June 2008 17:47 (seventeen years ago)

Is that movie called what happens in VEGAS or Get Lucky, the poster doesn't really care if I know, does it?

I know, right?, Thursday, 5 June 2008 17:47 (seventeen years ago)

i'm not sure if it's meant to be an obscene gesture.

banriquit, Thursday, 5 June 2008 17:48 (seventeen years ago)

"hey, you, walking by--I FUCKED THIS CHICK"

max, Thursday, 5 June 2008 17:49 (seventeen years ago)

I wouldn't have even considered that it might be called Get Lucky.

I was gonna post the poster for "Theodore Rex", but then I saw I'd already done that in 2003. Seriously though, is there any other mainstream movie with a more ridiculous premise? I kinda want to see that flick, actually.

Poor, poor Chong.

Jarlrmai, Friday, 6 June 2008 09:17 (seventeen years ago)

Anyway, apparently the dude's hit 70(!) this year, so maybe he's just retired?
