The old one is getting long, and I thought it would be good to have a proper count. Also I wanted to let everyone know that United Airlines just reduced their fares to NYC. My ticket is costing $166 through http://www.travelocity.com/ .

Count off and say when you're coming and going, if you know.

teeny (teeny), Friday, 23 May 2003 15:42 (twenty-two years ago)

1. teeny, June 28-July 7 unless I chicken out on this ticket.

teeny (teeny), Friday, 23 May 2003 15:49 (twenty-two years ago)

kick ass! Yay teeny!

I more than likely will be there. ILXors may be welcome to crash at my pad. Need to talk to the roommate about it, but it'll prolly happen.

hstencil, Friday, 23 May 2003 15:50 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm not coming now. My Hefner robe will not be out of the dry cleaners at this point. My wife is working and I would have liked to bring her along...I feel bad leaving her home for the weekend. Oh well, until next time.

Chris V. (Chris V), Friday, 23 May 2003 15:52 (twenty-two years ago)

your wife has to work on the day that we celebrate our independence by BLOWING SHIT UP?!? Who does she work for, some kinda COMMIE?!? If your wife doesn't get off work, bin Laden wins!

hstencil, Friday, 23 May 2003 15:53 (twenty-two years ago)

99.9% sure that I'll be there on the 3rd and staying until the 7th or so (that's up in the air). Coming by car. Staying in a hotel. Will try not to stink up the town.

Bryan (Bryan), Friday, 23 May 2003 15:53 (twenty-two years ago)

She's a social worker. She has no choice.

Chris V. (Chris V), Friday, 23 May 2003 15:54 (twenty-two years ago)

dude Bryan this town already stinks.

Damn, sucks Chris V. I was really looking forward to meeting her you.

hstencil, Friday, 23 May 2003 15:54 (twenty-two years ago)

you'll just have to come to boston sometime.

Chris V. (Chris V), Friday, 23 May 2003 15:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Don't do it. They'll make plans to see you, then blow you off.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Friday, 23 May 2003 15:58 (twenty-two years ago)

Hey, I posted a message that I wasn't coming. I had a baseball game!

Chris V. (Chris V), Friday, 23 May 2003 15:59 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm only coming if bears will be involved.

Ally (mlescaut), Friday, 23 May 2003 16:02 (twenty-two years ago)

ooh i bought the ticket. eep!

teeny (teeny), Friday, 23 May 2003 16:02 (twenty-two years ago)

WOO HOO!!!

Bryan (Bryan), Friday, 23 May 2003 16:04 (twenty-two years ago)

don't be afraid, teeny. NYC ILXors will show you a rockin' good time.

hstencil, Friday, 23 May 2003 16:04 (twenty-two years ago)

I had a baseball game!

Yeah, yeah. I saw one of your "baseball games" while I was in Chicago. Two hours tops.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Friday, 23 May 2003 16:06 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes, but an hour ride to Boston and then drinking and then driving back home is not a good idea.

Chris V. (Chris V), Friday, 23 May 2003 16:10 (twenty-two years ago)

Two hours for a baseball game in Chicago? Kerry Wood or John Lieber must've been pitching.

hstencil, Friday, 23 May 2003 16:11 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm at 65% likelihood, depending on various things.

nabisco (nabisco), Friday, 23 May 2003 18:18 (twenty-two years ago)

Current plans: arrive some time the evening of the 3rd; depart the afternoon of the 6th.

j.lu (j.lu), Friday, 23 May 2003 18:25 (twenty-two years ago)

Are you saying DJ Grizz should blow off his homeboy to visit you?

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Friday, 23 May 2003 18:30 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm saying I just ain't coming otherwise, that's all. No strings or shit. It'd be a tragedy cos me and Daddino were gon' go all Roy and Dale Rogers for you people.

Ally (mlescaut), Friday, 23 May 2003 18:33 (twenty-two years ago)

If the dollar could please hit 74 cents again it would be possible to ship everyone down there.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Friday, 23 May 2003 18:38 (twenty-two years ago)

Can I just point out that "Dale" and "Rogers" really shouldn't be together in that above sentence? WTF? What kind of cowgirl am I? Shit, yo.

Ally (mlescaut), Friday, 23 May 2003 18:45 (twenty-two years ago)

Perhaps you were thinking about Chippendales and DJ Grizz together.

He's the dj, not the dancer.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Friday, 23 May 2003 18:55 (twenty-two years ago)

Are you implying I'm imagining naked bears? I'll kick your ass.

Ally (mlescaut), Friday, 23 May 2003 19:05 (twenty-two years ago)

3rd - 6th (jlu are we still carpooling?)

Millar (Millar), Friday, 23 May 2003 19:07 (twenty-two years ago)

COUNT OFF YOU POXY FULES.

teeny (teeny), Friday, 23 May 2003 19:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Millar: Yes.

j.lu (j.lu), Friday, 23 May 2003 19:22 (twenty-two years ago)

Haven't bought ticket yet but probably some sort of 2nd to 6th combination, if Stence and Diego can stand me.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 23 May 2003 21:40 (twenty-two years ago)

Planning on 2nd through 6th, but might add a day or two on either end.

Chris Barrus (Chris Barrus), Saturday, 24 May 2003 00:03 (twenty-two years ago)

Buying ticket as soon as I get paid ($&*#^$# monthy pay schedule)

Chris Barrus (Chris Barrus), Saturday, 24 May 2003 00:04 (twenty-two years ago)

If Carey is moved into her apartment up there by then, I'm definitely getting my ass on a bus or train to catch this thing.

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Saturday, 24 May 2003 17:01 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah fuck it let's all just get jobs in NYC and go live there

Millar (Millar), Saturday, 24 May 2003 17:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Very likely to be there. I will not need accomodations unless my brother in Jersey City flakes out on me, which is likely.

Colin Meeder (Mert), Saturday, 24 May 2003 17:14 (twenty-two years ago)

HUH?!?!?!?!

Michael Daddino (epicharmus), Saturday, 24 May 2003 17:15 (twenty-two years ago)

This is gunna be WICKED AWESOME!

Michael Daddino (epicharmus), Saturday, 24 May 2003 17:15 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah sounds like it. I'm starting to get worries, my expectations are at an absurd level

Millar (Millar), Saturday, 24 May 2003 17:29 (twenty-two years ago)

We'll have the Colin/Michael St. John's war of wits/love of minds reunion emo jam session! Or something?

I am beginning to think that a random production of Silence! The Musical might have to occur while we're there. Any takers? ;-)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 24 May 2003 17:41 (twenty-two years ago)

I get to play Clarice obv -- I'm already named Jody so it works out great!

Jody Beth Rosen (Jody Beth Rosen), Saturday, 24 May 2003 17:44 (twenty-two years ago)

haha "jobs in NYC"

M Matos (M Matos), Saturday, 24 May 2003 18:54 (twenty-two years ago)

We'll have the Colin/Michael St. John's war of wits/love of minds reunion emo jam session! Or something?

Contract on the World Love Jam of the Network Stars II: Electric Boogaloo

Michael Daddino (epicharmus), Saturday, 24 May 2003 19:49 (twenty-two years ago)

If I can do it, I'm thinking 3rd-10th.

luna (luna.c), Saturday, 24 May 2003 22:55 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't think i'm going to be able to. :( The money situ ain't lookin' too good.

That Girl (thatgirl), Saturday, 24 May 2003 22:58 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm not going to go. I have to wash my hair that week.

Ally (mlescaut), Saturday, 24 May 2003 23:26 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah let's have a big NYC FAP with no NYC ILXorZ whatsoever. Very ILX.

Millar (Millar), Saturday, 24 May 2003 23:33 (twenty-two years ago)

i just got back from china this weekend, so i guess i'll be coming!

phil-two (phil-two), Monday, 26 May 2003 16:41 (twenty-two years ago)

Yay Phil!

teeny (teeny), Monday, 26 May 2003 17:31 (twenty-two years ago)

welcome home phil!

Mary (Mary), Monday, 26 May 2003 22:17 (twenty-two years ago)

Rah to Phil! :-) He can tell us all stories. :-)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 26 May 2003 23:00 (twenty-two years ago)

and take us shopping...

teeny (teeny), Monday, 26 May 2003 23:05 (twenty-two years ago)

It looks like Nick and I will be coming up. I'm not sure of the exact dates. Maybe the 3rd through the 6th? And we'll probably be staying with his sister. WOO HOO! So where are we all going to fit? Quick update on where we are all meeting up? Anyone? That other thread is so long...

Sarah McLUsky (coco), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 12:15 (twenty-two years ago)

YAY SARAH!!!

Bryan (Bryan), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 12:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Quick update on where we are all meeting up? It's more than a month away!!!

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 12:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh, the endless debate has to begin sometime...

teeny (teeny), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 12:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes Ally, but for some of us we'll need a month's advance notice in order to save up to go to some of the crazy expensive joints you guys go to. Plus, since I'm coming by car, I'll need a lot of notice since it's gonna take me fuckin' forever to get there!

Bryan (Bryan), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 12:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Just assume the place we're going to is going to be more expensive than anywhere you'd go, since it's in NYC, and you'll be sorted. Deciding now is silly:

A) Everyone will change their minds about 4 times
B) It'll confuse everyone from out of town
C) I've seen too many places get shut down within that span of time to want to commit!

That being said, let's go to Bellevue, or to Siberia again.

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 13:02 (twenty-two years ago)

This is why having a (not so) secretive pub steering committee is a good idea Ally.

Well, it certainly negates A and B to a greater extent :)

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 13:08 (twenty-two years ago)

(I was joking, Ally!)
As long as we don't go somewhere where a pint costs $10US I'm happy (Am I a fuckin' fule for thinking such a place exists there?).

Bryan (Bryan), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 13:09 (twenty-two years ago)

Quite frankly, I think all pub decisions should be made by a shadow government of 5 NYC ILXors, but whenever I try to enforce this rule, Tracer Hand bitches. That being said, he is out of town on the 4th.

You aren't a fool for that, Bryan, because I've been to several such places (the late Exit, Rise comes close, Light is nearing that amount, Tracer and I went to a place called Tabla where we paid out the ass for drinks); that being said the chances of 99% of NYC ILX going to such places, especially for more than a drink or two, are like slim to none.

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 13:15 (twenty-two years ago)

This is the way we do it in the UK: hence the Fancy A Pint Steering Committee.

Pete (Pete), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 13:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Well, like I said, this is exactly what I think should occur, but SOME people are WHINYPANTS.

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 13:23 (twenty-two years ago)

(incidentally this is all lies)

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 13:23 (twenty-two years ago)

Ally, I figured the plans weren't set in stone, but there must be some sort of discussion about it. And yeah, a month is a way's away, but I'm looking forward to this trip and need something to fantasize about when I'm at work!
Anyway, all DC area folks should consider this busline as it's very cheap.

Sarah MCLUsky (coco), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 13:25 (twenty-two years ago)

Ally, one of the key tasks of the Steering Committee (of which I am not a part, I should add) is ignoring the whiners and pitiful discontents.

Tim (Tim), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 13:26 (twenty-two years ago)

There must be some sort of discussion about it = "Are you going to this thing?" "Yeah, I guess so." "I'm actually out of town." "Oh." "Yeah...Did you see the Yankees game yesterday?" "Fucking a, yo, Jeter suxor."

Tim, if you notice, I generally do that, after verily ridiculing them.

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 13:27 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm all for a steering committee. I know nothing about no new york pubs. And I'll be drunk after my first drink, so I won't be much good at steering nobodys.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 13:37 (twenty-two years ago)

"Fucking a, yo, Jeter suxor."

I saw his first and only homerun of the season in person Sunday.

I say everyone bring their formal wear and we all go to the Rainbow Room. Evidently, a lot of people in this bitch could use a slow dance.

hstencil, Tuesday, 27 May 2003 13:40 (twenty-two years ago)

I only go to hipster pubs featured on Sex in the City (are any of those real places?)

Sarah McLusky (coco), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 13:42 (twenty-two years ago)

Siberia would prolly work alright, except that it's in midtown so barhopping would not be that attractive of an option... Anyway, I nominate Ally, felicity & Mary to make the big decision.

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 13:43 (twenty-two years ago)

need something to fantasize about when I'm at work!

URGENT AND KEY.

Plus I have all these great ideas on where to go from my neurotic consumption of NYC weeklies and need real people to tell me if they're unrealistic or what.

Oh and Sarah last time I was in NYC I went to XL, the gay club with the aquarium that was in that one episode. There was far less shirtlessness than we had been led to believe.

teeny (teeny), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 13:43 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes, Sarah, they are real. I've eaten at Tao on 58th more than once (never paid for it) (actually, that 6 grand I spent on MBAs last summer was there) (it's the Asian place with the big-ass statue of Buddha that apparently the Sex and the City characters have eaten at before) (one time when I ate there Dr. Ruth was in the hizzouse)

hstencil, Tuesday, 27 May 2003 13:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Nightlife
Best Cheap Night
Pianos
158 Ludlow Street
212-505-3733

Partyers looking for a night out on the cheap surely constitute a booming demographic. And the owners of Pianos must have foreseen this when they opened their starkly minimalist bar in a former piano shop last fall. Their wallet-friendly approach (no cover on most nights, $10 on weekends; $6 will get you a Stoli vanilla and Coke) has made Pianos wildly successful this year while other nightspots—Estate and Powder among them—have flamed out. This is not to say that Pianos skimps on talent: great garage rock bands as well as D.J.’s like FC Kahuna, Legowelt, and DJ Hell (all of whom cost big bucks to hear elsewhere) can be spotted on the decks at Pianos, pumping out blissful beats to heal our bear-market blues.

teeny (teeny), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 13:45 (twenty-two years ago)

Pianos is way too crowded to have a FAP there.

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 13:46 (twenty-two years ago)

See, that's exactly what I was talking about! Thanks, yance.

That issue of New York magazine also had a rundown of the cheapest pints in the city but I can't find it on the website. I'll look when I go home.

teeny (teeny), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 13:48 (twenty-two years ago)

Pianos sucks.

hstencil, Tuesday, 27 May 2003 13:48 (twenty-two years ago)

http://www.newyorkmetro.com/urban/guides/bestofny/nightlife/03/divebar_readers.htm

teeny (teeny), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 13:52 (twenty-two years ago)

I have an NYC friend that loves Pravda but I suspect that's too expensive.

teeny (teeny), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 13:53 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah, a Pianos FAP is basically the worst idea of all time

M Matos (M Matos), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 13:56 (twenty-two years ago)

yo, that's why I'm asking.

teeny (teeny), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 13:58 (twenty-two years ago)

barhopping would not be that attractive of an option...

Uh, Yanc3y, I hate to break it to you but barhopping at a major FAP isn't that attractive an option to begin with, you moron. "Hey, I know! Let's switch bars so that latecomers/lost out-of-towners cannot find us! That'll show them!" Midtown-->easier to get to for people staying at hotels. I've said this at every major FAP (ie one that people have come in for) and I will continue to say it. However, your idea that Felicity, Mary, and I arrange all of this is a great one, and one I didn't want to say. Matos should help out too. Which I wrote before he cross posted with me.

FYI, every single bar printed in nice publications as "hip" and/or "best" all suck. Just so that you guys know. Pianos is totally, totally no go.

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 13:58 (twenty-two years ago)

We should all go to Riddler's anyway.

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 13:59 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, yr right about the NO BARHOPPING rule. And Midtown would be the easiest to get to. Nevermind.

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 14:00 (twenty-two years ago)

I have a deep and abiding faith in the ability of the Ally/Felicity/Mary axis to find The Right Locale.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 14:01 (twenty-two years ago)

Hehehe I'm actually all for the barhopping thing but you already knew that, Yanc3y. I was just sayin' that's all.

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 14:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Is that the Axis of Ale, Ned?

jm (jtm), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 14:04 (twenty-two years ago)

It's cool. Siberia really would be the best option, since it's such a large, open space. That or the Queens Beer Garden.

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 14:05 (twenty-two years ago)

Riddler's is pretty big.

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 14:06 (twenty-two years ago)

I ain't never been. Where's dat?

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 14:06 (twenty-two years ago)

I like the idea of the Beergarden if only because it's outside and I LOVE DRINKING OUTSIDE. But it ain't easy for out-of-towners to get to, either.

hstencil, Tuesday, 27 May 2003 14:06 (twenty-two years ago)

Is that the Axis of Ale, Ned?

*hic*

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 14:06 (twenty-two years ago)

Riddler's is on the Grand Concourse. It's a good spot.

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 14:07 (twenty-two years ago)

I do like the idea of Siberia again--the last FAP there was fun, and it's probably as close to a pre-Guiliani Noo Yawk-style bar as exists (like I'd know! I moved here two years ago!)--but I worry that I'm just being unadventurous. can you tell us more about Riddler's?

M Matos (M Matos), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 14:09 (twenty-two years ago)

I'd really like to keep the different-bars-for-each-out-of-towners'-FAP tradition going

M Matos (M Matos), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 14:10 (twenty-two years ago)

The only negative I can think of about Siberia is that it's hard to find -- in that there's no sign so you have to look for The Red Door. But for oughttatownahs that could seem cool, I guess? I dunno.

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 14:11 (twenty-two years ago)

It's in the Bronx, right?

teeny (teeny), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 14:11 (twenty-two years ago)

Riddler's is in one of the worst areas in the Bronx. I'm not being serious; I'm afraid our out-of-town guests would get shot going there. It's a cool place though.

Siberia was good because it was huge, and I don't think we explored the downstairs space enough.

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 14:12 (twenty-two years ago)

Several of us will be here for more than a few days, so there are multiple-night possibilities.

teeny (teeny), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 14:12 (twenty-two years ago)

The only place I've had a drink in the Bronx is Yankee Stadium (on Sunday), so I'd be up for it. Tho I think that Siberia might be the best choice, location-wise (it's right by the Port Authority Bus Terminal!).

hstencil, Tuesday, 27 May 2003 14:13 (twenty-two years ago)

Dude, stence, for serious, I was kidnapped by a taxi driver leaving Riddler's! We don't wanna bring non-NYers there. I was totally just kidding.

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 14:15 (twenty-two years ago)

damn, how did you escape?

hstencil, Tuesday, 27 May 2003 14:19 (twenty-two years ago)

teeny: multi-night drinking is a must. Not sure if I'll want to go "out" multiple nights, though, so a hotel room party may be in order.

Bryan (Bryan), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 14:20 (twenty-two years ago)

We will Page & Plant the joint!

teeny (teeny), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 14:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Goes without saying!

Bryan (Bryan), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 14:22 (twenty-two years ago)

stence, I jumped out of a moving vehicle near an upcoming police barricade somewhere in the 200s, and then some bus drivers directed me to the nearest subway station. On the way home, I was flirted with by a bartender returning to him home near Times Square, who was curious as to how I could keep going until such a late hour in the chrome-heeled sandals I was wearing.

Hotel room party is urgent and key of course.

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 14:22 (twenty-two years ago)

wow, Ally, that sounds like a total nightmare. Sorry to hear about it.

hstencil, Tuesday, 27 May 2003 14:24 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm going to be there for just about the whole week so I'm in for multi-night FAP'ing as well as anything else that's happening during the day.

Chris Barrus (Chris Barrus), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 14:25 (twenty-two years ago)

I've had worse, don't worry about it! All I'm saying is that we don't want to have a huge FAP there.

We could always go to Potion, Felicity has been dying for it.

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 14:25 (twenty-two years ago)

OK, now I gotta find a hotel room that can not only stand Millar and myself but all of ILX too.

Chris Barrus (Chris Barrus), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 14:26 (twenty-two years ago)

I'd go to Potion again!

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 14:30 (twenty-two years ago)

I nominate Ally, felicity & Mary to make to make the big decision

I'm so honored . . .

Teeny: I think you should experience Piano's; all the NY Ilxors love it, shamed as they are to admit it. You and I can meet there for a pre-fap drink, or at another convenient time if you like.

Mary (Mary), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 14:31 (twenty-two years ago)

You just wanna see the girl in the zebra outfit again, Yanc3y.

*raises hand* I truly don't love Piano's, it's overrated.

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 14:31 (twenty-two years ago)

I wasn't lobbying for Piano's, just requesting information. But thanks so much for the sweet offer! I'm certainly up for a drink anywhere, really.

But your fashionable presence reminds me: WHEN WILL WE ALL BE SHOPPING TOGETHER?

teeny (teeny), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 14:32 (twenty-two years ago)

I've actually never been to Pianos (although I walked past it last night). I was just using the official Hipster Backlash Talking PointsTM.

Depending on what happens, and if my landlords go to Italy, and who's staying where, and whether I go to my friend's wedding or not, I may open the Casa de Hstencil to NYC ILXor party action.

hstencil, Tuesday, 27 May 2003 14:37 (twenty-two years ago)

I guess I don't get what's special about Pianos? How the hell can you "experience" it, Mary???

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 14:39 (twenty-two years ago)

That is awfully generous of you to even think of, stence. I hope to be staying with a friend in Brooklyn, but I haven't had any luck getting in touch with him. I may be up for a hotel share.

teeny (teeny), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 14:40 (twenty-two years ago)

Stop being so fucking belligerent, Yanc3y, jesus.

Yo, I'd throw a party at my house except that A) then my coworkers would show up B) every time I throw a party, my crazy ex roommate magicaly appears C) my house is wicked small. Someone should rent out Tracer Hand's place for the month, then we could have a party there. His roommate looks like Jeremy Piven! Who doesn't want to see that?

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 14:41 (twenty-two years ago)

Ally my place is two stories and super-huge plus if the landlords are gone then we might be able to use the yard (weather permitting) and their apartment, too.

hstencil, Tuesday, 27 May 2003 14:44 (twenty-two years ago)

I wuzn't being belligerent! (sorry Mary)

I'd have a party at my house only I h8 u all.

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 14:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Teeny: I'm not feeling so fashionable, but let's try and rectify that. Unfortunately Felicity will be at family reunion, denying us the privilege of her glammy sports style.

Yanc3y et al: Re Pianos--I think it would be fun for an out of town visitor, and most importantly, it's in walking distance from my house.

Mary (Mary), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 14:44 (twenty-two years ago)

I feels ya on da walking distance tip, yo!

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 14:45 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, but there's so many ifs and buts involved in using your place, whereas if we rent out Tracer's, BINGO!

(In all honesty there's no way in hell I'm going to have the time for all of these meet ups, so I don't really care that much)

Pianos is also walking distance from my house, or at least I have walked from there to my house before.

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 14:46 (twenty-two years ago)

You've walked from Pianos to yr place?!?! You gots Kenyan in yr blood, grrl!

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 14:47 (twenty-two years ago)

Wow, Mary, you're totally in my 'hood (in a spiritual sense or something, y'know). You must be so close to Tiny's Giant Sandwich shop, I'm jealous.

teeny (teeny), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 14:51 (twenty-two years ago)

Ha! Tiny's NEVER has ANY key ingrediants! I call and order a chicken sandwhich and they call back 5 minutes later, "Umm... sir? We don't have chicken or bread. Would you still like that?" Fucking infuriating!

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 14:55 (twenty-two years ago)

I always get food from Tiny's.

Mary (Mary), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 14:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Mary, what's the best Japanese delivery place in our hood?

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 14:58 (twenty-two years ago)

"We don't have chicken or bread"????????

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 14:59 (twenty-two years ago)

Seriously! It happens EVERY SINGLE TIME! I dunno how they stay in business. The other night my roommie ordered a salad and they called back to say that they didn't have any greens, would he like it anyway?

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 15:03 (twenty-two years ago)

What kind of salad has no greens? A terrible one, obviously.

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 15:10 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, he asked what would be in it and they said tomatoes.

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 15:11 (twenty-two years ago)

That's it? Damn.

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 15:11 (twenty-two years ago)

I mean, they realize that the grocery stores here are open 24/7 and they could just walk down the street and buy salad ingredients, right?

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 15:12 (twenty-two years ago)

I can't get over the 'yeah, hi, I want a chicken sandwich'
'okay *click*'
phone rings
'yeah, um, we don't have any chicken. or bread. you still want it?'

How exactly does that work? Are they going to borrow a cup of chicken from the restaurant next door? Pardon me, would you mind loaning me a french roll?

luna (luna.c), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 15:13 (twenty-two years ago)

Ok.. I've been gone from NYC for 9 months - is Pianos new or was I just totally clueless for so long? Do people still go to Lit or APT? I must have gone to Lit at least three times a week last year.

phil-two (phil-two), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 16:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Pianos is new and Lit and APT are still hip. Things haven't changed much at all. Spa ain't cool anymore. That about covers it.

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 16:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Yancey: I don't really do Japanese delivery for sushi, but there's a place on Suffolk St. near Delancey that delivers home cooking just like your Japanese mother never made. If I remember the name I'll let you know.

Phil, where can we buy those Adidas roller skates? Urban Outfitters had them a few years ago but not anymore. I'm ready to go! Who gets pink and who gets blue?

Mary (Mary), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 17:03 (twenty-two years ago)

Awesome. It's lookin like me and Sarah are a definite go. We both have the time off and will be staying with my sister in Prospect Park. Where is Prospect Park? Rock.

NA. (Nick A.), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 17:08 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm assuming you mean Park Slope (cuz if yr sis lives in PP she's homeless!). It's roughly a 20 minute train ride away from the lower east side. A nice area. Close to stencil.

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 17:29 (twenty-two years ago)

The Puma Roller-Kitties? I already have a pair of the baby blue ones... But I'm not sure if they sell them anymore. I got mine at one of those shoe-emporiums on Broadway - but that was 2 years ago!

phil-two (phil-two), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 17:29 (twenty-two years ago)

I still have no takers for 12 June - 9th July although a couple of people are close. If I got a serious offer from one of you, or some kind of multilateral commission, I would certainly entertain it. If someone would like to do it, or organize 2-3 people to do it, send me an email. I have more than enough space to accomodate 3 people or so in my room, an Aerobed, yr own bathroom, grill outside on the "patio", it's pretty nice.

Tricia Romano's column about the 2 Many DJs show says it all about Piano's. For about 20 minutes I was one of those people trying to get back inside. What she didn't mention is that they NEVER really let anybody back inside for the last hour or so of the show, even though they were letting people out, so just as the set was getting crazy, the dancefloor seemed emptier and emptier... Felix Da Housecat came in at like 3:30, the music's PUMPING, and there's like no crowd. He goggles for a bit and walks straight back out. I approve of their cheapness policy, and I like their to-my-mind unique mix of bands and DJs but they haven't handled their popularity so well.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 17:58 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh and I'm in Park Slope too, by the way.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 17:58 (twenty-two years ago)

She just said Prospect Park, but yeah, she's in a house or something. Is Park Slope the residential part of Prospect Park or something?

NA. (Nick A.), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 18:10 (twenty-two years ago)

Or something?

NA. (Nick A.), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 18:11 (twenty-two years ago)

Park Slope is just south of one side of Prospect Park.

hstencil, Tuesday, 27 May 2003 18:12 (twenty-two years ago)

The most gentrified area near the park.

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 18:12 (twenty-two years ago)

Other neighborhoods that border Prospect Park: Prospect Heights, Windsor Terrace and uh Sunset Park (maybe?). Prolly some more I'm forgetting, too.

hstencil, Tuesday, 27 May 2003 18:13 (twenty-two years ago)

It's probably Park Slope, unless she lives on the other side of Prospect Park - a huge West Indies neighborhood with yummy roti shops. I lived in Park Slope for a year - nice part of town.

phil-two (phil-two), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 18:17 (twenty-two years ago)

I would far rather give some money to an ilxor than a hotel. I am talking to YOU, Tracer and Hstencil. I know you just said email you, Tracer, but what are your needs in this situation? Are you just looking to salvage whatever you can out of the sublet time? Because it looks like I'm the one staying the longest (9 days or so) which is not that long compared to the length you were looking to sublet. Is that what you want?

teeny (teeny), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 18:17 (twenty-two years ago)

Actually isn't PS north & northwest of PP?

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 18:17 (twenty-two years ago)

by the way... so i just got back to NYC - does anyone know any bars/restaurants that are hiring? and i need an apartment... though i have a 2nd intewview with the tribeca grand, so hopefully that'll work out.

phil-two (phil-two), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 18:20 (twenty-two years ago)

a friend of mine in williamsburg is looking for a roomie, phil. bedford & north 5th. very nice place. $1000 a month.

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 18:25 (twenty-two years ago)

hey teeny, any ILXor can crash at my pad (uh, y'know, as soon as I clear it with D!390), but no cash money will be needed.

hstencil, Tuesday, 27 May 2003 18:25 (twenty-two years ago)

I only go to hipster pubs featured on Sex in the City (are any of those real places?)

hipster and SATC probably don't belong in the same sentence, but in addition to the aforementioned Tao, another location is a nice place called O'Nieal's (on Grand St?).

gabbneb (gabbneb), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 18:26 (twenty-two years ago)

Oof.. $1000. Maybe I should wait until I get a job first. Or until my friends tire of me freeloading & sleeping on their couches.

phil-two (phil-two), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 18:29 (twenty-two years ago)

By 'hipster' I mean way too expensive for me to walk by.

Sarah Mclusky (coco), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 18:29 (twenty-two years ago)

Or FADish, flashy, here today, gone next week.

Sarah Mclusky (coco), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 18:31 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah i know it's expensive. i couldn't afford it. thought i'd throw it out there tho.

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 18:33 (twenty-two years ago)

"Gentrified" might be the wrong word for the PK VU houses right along the Park, Yanc3. I think those places have always been posh.

Yeah teeny, I would prefer to sublet it out for the entire timeframe mentioned there. Maybe someone else wants to stay longer and you could go in together?

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 18:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, 7th, 8th and 9th Aves have always been nice (near the park anyway), but where I lived in PS (16th st & 5th ave) was a very bad area until a few years ago... It still ain't great.

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 18:39 (twenty-two years ago)

Prospect Park is a park; it is also a neighborhood. Stay tuned for more fascinating insights from yours truly.

Phil: you already have those? Damn, I better start looking for the pink ones. Re work, if you were a girl I would say Bowery Bar. I just ate lunch there and all the waitresses are biting my style: navy blue hockey skirts + white blouses.

Yancey: A few months ago you wouldn't pay more than $300 to live on the LES. Now you're all $1000 to live in Brooklyn?

Mary (Mary), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 18:41 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm not allowed to go into Bowery Bar since the manager who fired me from The Park is now working at B-Bar... Mission is hiring cocktail servers - but I have a feeling they only want tall hos with big boobs. Have you heard anything about Industry (Food)? They're hiring.

Tracer: you're subletting your apartment?

phil-two (phil-two), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 18:45 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm not about to spend $1k to live in Brooklyn! I thought Phil was made of $$$...

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 18:53 (twenty-two years ago)

we don't want you anyway, Yanc3y.

(love that I can say "we" even though I've lived in Brooklyn for like a month.)

hstencil, Tuesday, 27 May 2003 18:57 (twenty-two years ago)

See above for dates, phil. It's only 3 weeks really that I need someone. Email me if you're interested. I'd better go clean out my yahoo account.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 18:58 (twenty-two years ago)

whatever stence.

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 18:58 (twenty-two years ago)

whatever yourself, Mr. I-wish-I-was-in-Williamsburg.

(heh.)

hstencil, Tuesday, 27 May 2003 19:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Who the hell would wish that?

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 19:03 (twenty-two years ago)

I'VE BEEN HIT!

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 19:03 (twenty-two years ago)

I would, they have better bookstores.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 19:05 (twenty-two years ago)

Ya ever heard of a thang called the train?

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 19:06 (twenty-two years ago)

WHATEVER NERD!

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 19:06 (twenty-two years ago)

(that was for the bookworm)

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 19:06 (twenty-two years ago)

Fuck you dickhead!

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 19:06 (twenty-two years ago)

Who's fighting and what for?

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 19:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Can you feel the love tonight?

hstencil, Tuesday, 27 May 2003 19:09 (twenty-two years ago)

I really want to see Warriors.

I think Industry Food is okay.

Mary (Mary), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 19:13 (twenty-two years ago)

b-b-b-but who needs The Warriors when you have this?

M Matos (M Matos), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 19:48 (twenty-two years ago)

The Warriors is the best. I am sad that the FAP is a no go for me. Although I have fapped all over TX w/Gareth now I NEED MORE!

That Girl (thatgirl), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 19:58 (twenty-two years ago)

So what happened there, anyway? Much partying and crazy madness?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 19:59 (twenty-two years ago)

yes. and sort of yes. ;)

That Girl (thatgirl), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 20:04 (twenty-two years ago)

Astounding!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 20:10 (twenty-two years ago)

Gareth has made a couple of entries on his blog about the trip. Much fun was had. I wish more ILXors were closer to me. :(

That Girl (thatgirl), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 20:11 (twenty-two years ago)

Post that there blog link if you could.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 20:12 (twenty-two years ago)

That girl you must come. Ned, you don't have norfoldwindmills.com on your permalinks?

Mary (Mary), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 20:13 (twenty-two years ago)

Gareth's travelogue

That Girl (thatgirl), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 20:14 (twenty-two years ago)

am i like the only person in texas without a tatoo or what?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

hstencil, Tuesday, 27 May 2003 20:18 (twenty-two years ago)

I tried my best to get Gareth some ink. At bar closing time last night my tattoo artist was ready to go unlock his shop and hook Gareth up with some free art to remember Texas by. But he passed.

He also passed on the pitcher of beans. Sucker.

That Girl (thatgirl), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 20:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Sam, next time get him really really drunk then strap him in the chair. He really should've been sent back to the UK with a gigantic map of Texas on his chest.

hstencil, Tuesday, 27 May 2003 20:22 (twenty-two years ago)

(this method is not applicable to Hstencil as he was born in Texas)

(and that's punishment enough)

hstencil, Tuesday, 27 May 2003 20:22 (twenty-two years ago)

Phil, I can't find those skates anywhere. Maybe I can just run along beside you in my light blue tracksuit?

Mary (Mary), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 21:09 (twenty-two years ago)

shit, i cant find any for you online either... owell.

by the way, what are you doing right now? i have to get out of my friend's apartment for a few hours since his parents are coming over.

phil-two (phil-two), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 21:27 (twenty-two years ago)

oh -- i'm at work and then i'm going to yoga -- wanna come to jivamukti at 7.45?

Mary (Mary), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 21:35 (twenty-two years ago)

oh ugh, i have the flexibility of a crowbar. maybe i'll go read magazines at barnes&noble or something

phil-two (phil-two), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 21:42 (twenty-two years ago)

How about you go see JAMES BROWN for FREE in BATTERY PARK CITY like RIGHT NOW?!?!?!?

(I'm about to jump on the train myself)

hstencil, Tuesday, 27 May 2003 21:43 (twenty-two years ago)

What? WHAT!

I hate you all for not telling me this James Brown-related news in advance.

Michael Daddino (epicharmus), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 22:02 (twenty-two years ago)

oh is that happening right now? anyone wanna meet me and go? i'm at cooper sq

Mary (Mary), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 22:13 (twenty-two years ago)

okay i'm going now with dan from the voice

Mary (Mary), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 22:22 (twenty-two years ago)

woooh!

James Blount (James Blount), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 22:23 (twenty-two years ago)

Michael Daddino SAYS YES TO SIBERIA for at least one night though if we do go please remind me to bring a Sharpie. And maybe some chairs from IKEA because they just don't have enough seating. Of course we could always sit on the floor indian-style and play duck-duck-goose.

I'd throw a party at my apartment but it's like 300 square feet and my co-op board TOLD ME they expected no parties and to their edicts I must remain true.

Does anybody know any good gay bars in New York City? 'Cause I don't.

Michael Daddino (epicharmus), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 22:23 (twenty-two years ago)

I do think a gay bar is U&K but all the ones I've been to (other than XL) were so tiny.

teeny (teeny), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 22:33 (twenty-two years ago)

IIRC, the first NYC FAP was at The Boilerroom, but they fucking changed things (the middle of the bar has this odd seating arrangement, ruining everything) and it's too small anyway. Last time I was there I almost got into a screaming fit with a fellow blogger visiting from LA so it's got bad bad vibes now.

Michael Daddino (epicharmus), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 22:43 (twenty-two years ago)

I forgot to mention The Boiler Room is indeed a gay bar. The jukebox used to be fantastic, too.

Michael Daddino (epicharmus), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 22:45 (twenty-two years ago)

There's a new gay bar in Williamsburg I've been wanting to check out called Metropolitan...

The Cock is always fun too.

phil-two (phil-two), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 22:54 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, I've heard some vague good things about it, too. I may have to scout out some locations.

Michael Daddino (epicharmus), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 22:58 (twenty-two years ago)

Pardon the phrasing, but isn't the Cock kind of small for this kind of megaFAP action? (I don't remember.)

teeny (teeny), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 22:58 (twenty-two years ago)

who's playing that weekend? Show me some club skeds.

Millar (Millar), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 23:09 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah i guess its sort of small and uncomfortable if you dont like beefy eastern european go-go dancers swinging around their giant vacuum-pumped cocks.

i havent been to very many gay bars in NYC - though the Abbey on sunday nights was pretty okay too

phil-two (phil-two), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 23:11 (twenty-two years ago)

concerts

teeny (teeny), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 23:12 (twenty-two years ago)

Chaka Khan!

teeny (teeny), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 23:13 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, the Abbey would excellent if any of the nights fell on a Sunday.

Michael Daddino (epicharmus), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 23:14 (twenty-two years ago)

AND HOLY CRAP SPARKS IN AUGUST IN CENTRAL PARK!

Michael Daddino (epicharmus), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 23:16 (twenty-two years ago)

It appears I will be just in time to miss Smokey & Miho and The Fall bookending my arrival. I don't care enough for anything else in between to deal with the crowd. Where are the small shows?

Millar (Millar), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 23:23 (twenty-two years ago)

AND HOLY CRAP SPARKS IN AUGUST IN CENTRAL PARK!

And you'd best be there or I will complain.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 27 May 2003 23:30 (twenty-two years ago)

If you go to the Works on a Thursday night, the cosmos and margaritas only cost $1 each. Also I've been naked there. And it is tres, tres gay.

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 00:13 (twenty-two years ago)

PS I'm still not going to this.

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 02:28 (twenty-two years ago)

What, you want somebody to plead with you to show up or something?

Millar (Millar), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 02:34 (twenty-two years ago)

Not really.

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 02:38 (twenty-two years ago)

no skin off my back if she don't show

Ally, please come!

hstencil, Wednesday, 28 May 2003 02:39 (twenty-two years ago)

Fuck you, stence, at least get your own joke. Millar, I told you the other night why I wasn't too crazed to go to this, actually--why are you causing havoc now, you agreed with me?

If Luna shows, I'll go!

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 02:42 (twenty-two years ago)

ouch.

hstencil, Wednesday, 28 May 2003 02:43 (twenty-two years ago)

*smooches* You know I tease you.

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 02:43 (twenty-two years ago)

I'll find out next week for sure if I can.

luna (luna.c), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 02:43 (twenty-two years ago)

*causes havoc!*

Millar (Millar), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 02:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Havoc! Havoc! HAVOC!!!!

(Millar I am using this thread to make demands on other ILXors to show, now FUCK OFF and let me go back to my dirty work)

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 02:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Luna, you can't get your nipple pierced if I'm not there though.

That Girl (thatgirl), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 02:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Dude, I'm totally up for fucking piercing/tattoo faps, yo. What the hell?

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 02:49 (twenty-two years ago)

I won't Sam, but Ally, I'm down for another tattoo

luna (luna.c), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 02:53 (twenty-two years ago)

YES! Come come come! I know what I want and where to put it and everything!

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 03:04 (twenty-two years ago)

Me too. Rock on.

luna (luna.c), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 03:10 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm totally up for them too, Ally. But Aimee and I already agreed to get our nipples pierced together and I'd be sad if she did it without me!

That Girl (thatgirl), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 03:14 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh I don't want to get my nipples pierced, I am sure that will affect the implants. Just tattoos, I promise!

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 03:15 (twenty-two years ago)

I won't sug - I couldn't do it without you!

luna (luna.c), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 03:15 (twenty-two years ago)

Tracer, Matos & I have made a pact to get prince albert's together. This should be done as a group thang!

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 03:17 (twenty-two years ago)

It'll be just like the Brady Bunch, but dirty.

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 03:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh come on, the Brady Bunch was dirty...

luna (luna.c), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 03:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Ok, it's like the Brady Bunch, but with tattoos and piercings.

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 03:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh I think Jan had a secret or two.

luna (luna.c), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 03:35 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh, I'm never going to win with this comparison, am I? How about it's like Friends, but dirty?

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 03:42 (twenty-two years ago)

(Make it funky)

Mary (Mary), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 03:49 (twenty-two years ago)

Okay, I'll take that one

luna (luna.c), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 03:52 (twenty-two years ago)

From left to right: Yanc3mo, Ally, luna, Matos, ddg, Tracer

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 03:55 (twenty-two years ago)

I can see it now.

luna (luna.c), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 04:04 (twenty-two years ago)

We should totally dress like that.

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 04:06 (twenty-two years ago)

gabbneb hearts anyone who could be Ms Bufay, but does not trust Ally's doppelganger-sense

gabbneb (gabbneb), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 04:13 (twenty-two years ago)

I have a dress sort of like that, too... We must recreate this picture.

luna (luna.c), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 04:15 (twenty-two years ago)

A have a suit like Chandler's. I was thinking of wearing it anyway (if Matos doesn't mind).

Bryan (Bryan), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 04:17 (twenty-two years ago)

Alright, but then you got to get the Prince Albert.

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 04:20 (twenty-two years ago)

!

luna (luna.c), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 04:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Ok.

Bryan (Bryan), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 04:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Wow, you are so easy! I love you!

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 04:22 (twenty-two years ago)

Well, I like sticking my cock out in front of people, so...

Bryan (Bryan), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 04:23 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes, but usually do they poke things through it?

luna (luna.c), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 04:24 (twenty-two years ago)

'Cause if so, you're way more hardcore than I thought.

luna (luna.c), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 04:24 (twenty-two years ago)

THIS IS GOING TO BE THE BEST FAP EVER!

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 04:25 (twenty-two years ago)

Well, I hope so! My peeing in two different directions from then forward should be worth it! The month that my dick will be out of commission might not be, though.

Bryan (Bryan), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 04:29 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh come on, it's only pain, walk it off.

luna (luna.c), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 04:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Why am I Phoebe?

That Girl (thatgirl), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 09:56 (twenty-two years ago)

It wasn't like a statement on everyone's personalities, I just kind of read the names of everyone in the order the were on the thread, postwise, after Yanc3mo's. Seriously, I'd kill myself if I was Rachel.

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 12:41 (twenty-two years ago)

I'd make a good Chandler if he was in one of his fat guy phases.

Bryan (Bryan), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 12:46 (twenty-two years ago)

It's cool, you can still be Chandler. My dad kind of looks like Chandler.

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 12:47 (twenty-two years ago)

And I still have to get a hole in my penis?

Bryan (Bryan), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 12:48 (twenty-two years ago)

No, that's just Yanc3mo.

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 12:50 (twenty-two years ago)

Can I be the monkey?

Sarah McLUsky (coco), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 12:50 (twenty-two years ago)

Sure, I see no reason why not.

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 12:51 (twenty-two years ago)

I would if it was a truly integral part of the experience, though.
Kinda goes without saying that you're the monkey, Sarah (huh?).

Bryan (Bryan), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 12:53 (twenty-two years ago)

I can't imagine a situation on Friends in which dick piercing would be truly integral, actually.

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 12:59 (twenty-two years ago)

Actually, Nordicskillz should be the monkey. *sigh*

Sarah McLUsky (coco), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 13:06 (twenty-two years ago)

"The One Where Chandler Gets His Dick Pierced"

teeny (teeny), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 13:13 (twenty-two years ago)

Ha!
I just hope the episode doesn't involve Joey or Phoebe yanking the piercing out.

Bryan (Bryan), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 13:18 (twenty-two years ago)

I will be out of town for this but teeny, I would love to go shopping with you and generally do like S&TC, like we do. How long are you staying?

felicity (felicity), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 13:19 (twenty-two years ago)

ok, I'll be Phoebe if I get to yank out someone's dick piercing.

That Girl (thatgirl), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 13:27 (twenty-two years ago)

FUCK!

Bryan (Bryan), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 13:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Rawk, felicity. I'm in for a bit longer than most: June 28-July 7.

teeny (teeny), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 13:31 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm still reeling from being fucking Ross. Jesus.

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 13:58 (twenty-two years ago)

Maybe if you weren't so lame and emo all the time, you could be Joey.

I'm up for shopping too.

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 14:05 (twenty-two years ago)

Fuck this shit I'm getting another divorce!

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 14:17 (twenty-two years ago)

Betcha knew this was coming:
http://homepages.dsl.ca/~sean/dumbstuff/freaks.jpg
(based on Ally's original lineup; couldn't find a pic of DDG, so Daddino it is, cause he starts with D)

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 17:13 (twenty-two years ago)

i like that tracer's become a jewish comedian

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 17:17 (twenty-two years ago)

That is either the best or most horrible thing I've ever seen.

luna (luna.c), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 17:20 (twenty-two years ago)

GENIUS

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 17:22 (twenty-two years ago)

Dude, I'm totally up for fucking piercing/tattoo faps, yo. What the hell?

What the hell indeed? I'll bring the image that I want tattooed, and if enough ILXORz psych me up to do it...

j.lu (j.lu), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 17:25 (twenty-two years ago)

"So WHAT is the DEAL with that cowboy hat?"

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 18:17 (twenty-two years ago)

You all should look forward to seeing the picture of Garth as Black Bart. It's supreme.

That Girl (thatgirl), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 18:19 (twenty-two years ago)

I love that I've made Yanc3 carry my shoes...

luna (luna.c), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 18:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Is Daddino wearing a fall?

That Girl (thatgirl), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 18:20 (twenty-two years ago)

I like that Daddino has long flowing blonde locks.

GREAT XPOST!

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 28 May 2003 18:21 (twenty-two years ago)

two weeks pass...
At this time I would like to fantasize about shopping.

Henri Bendel is having their summer clearance today through July 6.

I was also thinking of doing some shopping for stuff for my new place--cool lamps, cute bath mats and such. What are good stores for that kind of thing? If I buy something at a store and have them ship it to my house, is it true that I don't pay sales tax on it? Also, is the no-sales-tax on clothing purchases still in effect?

teeny (teeny), Tuesday, 17 June 2003 13:21 (twenty-two years ago)

No-sales-tax on clothes rule went out two weeks ago, sorry to report.

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Tuesday, 17 June 2003 14:11 (twenty-two years ago)

So did anyone ever fucking decide when and where we meeting?

NA. (Nick A.), Tuesday, 17 June 2003 14:35 (twenty-two years ago)

afraid I won't be able to make the FAP at all...sorry everyone. and that suit upthread looked so good on me! plus seeing Daddino in that dress....

M Matos (M Matos), Tuesday, 17 June 2003 14:58 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh, if anyone still needs a place to crash for a couple of days, aaron and I just got a huge loft in Brooklyn. So there will be little furniture and much space to crash (like 1500 sq feet). A sketchy bathroom still but...

Carey (Carey), Tuesday, 17 June 2003 15:00 (twenty-two years ago)

you moved in already, carey?

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Tuesday, 17 June 2003 15:02 (twenty-two years ago)

july 1

Aaron Grossman (aajjgg), Tuesday, 17 June 2003 15:42 (twenty-two years ago)

Chances of my making it have been downgraded to nil. No no, don't cry. Really, it'll be okay. It may take time, but there'll be a day when you feel joy again -- for now, you've just got to live one day at a time, you know?

(Anyway I'll be there full-time within a month or so.)

nabisco (nabisco), Tuesday, 17 June 2003 16:30 (twenty-two years ago)

boo nabisco and Matos! Matos, is it just that night that's an issue? Several of us will be here for longer (over a week in my case).

teeny (teeny), Tuesday, 17 June 2003 16:32 (twenty-two years ago)

I can't do it, either. Too much shit going on all of a sudden, and none of it I can get out of.

I shall expect drunken phone calls.

luna (luna.c), Tuesday, 17 June 2003 16:41 (twenty-two years ago)

nooooooooooo! our birthday fap! noooooooooo!

teeny (teeny), Tuesday, 17 June 2003 17:00 (twenty-two years ago)

aaron, it's on?!

Mary (Mary), Tuesday, 17 June 2003 17:02 (twenty-two years ago)

I know! I'm broken hearted, but I just can't swing it. (Though if I can put my mad skillz, yo, to work and clear some shit up, I will, and will swing in at the last minute like an LA version of George of the Jungle. Watch out for that palm tree!)

luna (luna.c), Tuesday, 17 June 2003 17:02 (twenty-two years ago)

hey teeny, do you still need a place to stay?

hstencil, Tuesday, 17 June 2003 17:05 (twenty-two years ago)

why yes cowboy I'd be much obliged.

(But I am totally prepared to do the hotel thing as well, so don't think I'll be in a bad spot if for some reason you can't offer that hospitality. Also I feel like it's unfair to other ilxors who are getting hotels, although maybe that's their preference. But I'll totally take you up on it if you're offering.)

teeny (teeny), Tuesday, 17 June 2003 17:10 (twenty-two years ago)

well I just wanna be sure, as it could be you, Nichole and Ned staying over, which would be fine. Any more than that might be a little tight.

hstencil, Tuesday, 17 June 2003 18:06 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm pretty sure I'm gonna try to go (esp. since Carey's gonna be moved in and all) but it looks like trains would cost a pretty penny to get back and forth.

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Tuesday, 17 June 2003 19:03 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm not sure I'll be here, but if I am, maybe we should spend 4th of July in Coney Island.

Mary (Mary), Tuesday, 17 June 2003 19:12 (twenty-two years ago)

I was thinking for out of towners that will be staying for several days, we could have some other evening at our new place since it's spacious, has a roof and i have a lot of alcohol. So it would be a cheap alternative for those that don't want to go out everynight.

Carey (Carey), Tuesday, 17 June 2003 19:16 (twenty-two years ago)

I still might make it.

Colin Meeder (Mert), Tuesday, 17 June 2003 19:19 (twenty-two years ago)

I still don't know if I'll be in town the whole time. I think you guys should meet up at Siberia, regardless, in the downstairs bar.

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 17 June 2003 19:48 (twenty-two years ago)

yes mary it is on.

Aaron Grossman (aajjgg), Tuesday, 17 June 2003 22:27 (twenty-two years ago)

great!

Mary (Mary), Wednesday, 18 June 2003 00:37 (twenty-two years ago)

I like drunken phone calls, I'm also famous for leaving them.

Chris V. (Chris V), Wednesday, 18 June 2003 10:26 (twenty-two years ago)

Carey, a house party sounds like great fun! :)

Sarah McLusky (coco), Thursday, 19 June 2003 12:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Would anyone have a 7' x 4' piece of floor for a Canadian boy to sleep on if he were to come?

Bryan (Bryan), Thursday, 19 June 2003 15:26 (twenty-two years ago)

Whoa, Bryan, you're enormous!

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 19 June 2003 15:29 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes I am.

Bryan (Bryan), Thursday, 19 June 2003 15:31 (twenty-two years ago)

you could stay with us but we might make you paint or polyurethane. But we will have probably either a couch or futon for you to sleep on.

Carey (Carey), Thursday, 19 June 2003 16:06 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't mind working for my keep. Want me to bring my tools? I'm quite handy.

Bryan (Bryan), Thursday, 19 June 2003 16:12 (twenty-two years ago)

Finally, all the freakiness is working itself out. Thankfully, I've found a place to lay my head; now to wonder how many fellow vamps I can coax into going out at night...

Nichole Graham (Nichole Graham), Thursday, 19 June 2003 18:40 (twenty-two years ago)

Did you get a new spot, Nick? Because Stence sez he might be on the road!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 19 June 2003 18:41 (twenty-two years ago)

five months pass...
These are available, in Korea.
