SISSY MUST GO

Nu week, nu-thread (nu Fed).

I think Federico will be up for nomination this week .But I also think Sissy will be too. Let's look at the evidence:
Ginger
Sulker
No 1 Crisp thief

All it will take is three nominations for anyone to be up. Steph, Jon and one other will punt Sissy a nomination. Sissy must go because she is mardy and it will wind up the women even more.

Pete (Pete), Monday, 9 June 2003 11:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Leave my Sissy alone.

N. (nickdastoor), Monday, 9 June 2003 11:35 (twenty-two years ago)

i like sissy best (= she is wiccan to the core) (also her crisps ethic is spot on = THEY ARE NOT PROPER FOOD PPL)

mark s (mark s), Monday, 9 June 2003 11:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes Sissy must stay she is the sulky core of the whole show.

Given all the fretting about the evictees = females so far I think all the women will vote for men only. I suspect that half the men will, too. If I'm right, it's likely to be a male-only shortlist.

I'm hardly ever right.

Tim (Tim), Monday, 9 June 2003 11:39 (twenty-two years ago)

What does mardy mean?

Nicole (Nicole), Monday, 9 June 2003 11:41 (twenty-two years ago)

I can't work out why they even HAVE crisps if they are on 'basic rations'.

She clearly must go, and judging by her reaction to not getting any sweets etc in the task (I'M GOING TO BED), she is a wonderfully bad loser so will be good value on eviction night.

Archel (Archel), Monday, 9 June 2003 11:41 (twenty-two years ago)

mardy = sulky and a little selfish, always wants their own way.

see also: Mardarse

chris (chris), Monday, 9 June 2003 11:43 (twenty-two years ago)

Predictions for tomorrow: all the women will nominate Jon and Federico. All the men will nominate Sissy and Federico. Federico's own second nomination will be Tania.

Archel (Archel), Monday, 9 June 2003 11:45 (twenty-two years ago)

Thanks, my ile vocabulary has been expanded!

Nicole (Nicole), Monday, 9 June 2003 11:47 (twenty-two years ago)

No 1 Crisp thief

can you really steal in the BB house? Aren't the rules of property suspended therein?

MarkH (MarkH), Monday, 9 June 2003 11:47 (twenty-two years ago)

Not for fudge or salt, apparently. Fishboy must go!

Tim (Tim), Monday, 9 June 2003 11:50 (twenty-two years ago)

why did tania not tell the house at large that BB had caught her liberating ciggies as well as food?

(this may be v.obv, i just only saw the sunday recap where it was highlighted w/o being explored)

mark s (mark s), Monday, 9 June 2003 11:51 (twenty-two years ago)

"Let's look at the evidence:
Ginger"

Go??? Give her the 70 grand now.

Tag (Tag), Monday, 9 June 2003 11:52 (twenty-two years ago)

BB = utilitarian society. Eating crisps != stealing but is still morally wrong in 'starving' BB context.

Archel (Archel), Monday, 9 June 2003 11:52 (twenty-two years ago)

No she must not, on the grounds that I fancy her.

RickyT (RickyT), Monday, 9 June 2003 12:06 (twenty-two years ago)

I like her hair. But I'm willing to put this aside - she must go.

Archel (Archel), Monday, 9 June 2003 12:09 (twenty-two years ago)

Do you want another woman to go (with the consequent amusing worsening of the gendah divide), Archel?

Tim (Tim), Monday, 9 June 2003 12:13 (twenty-two years ago)

I think we might have three or four people up, the reasoning given above is sound though (except I think Steph will vote Sissy). Of course like all right thinking people I really want RAY TO GO.

Remember as well, somewhere along the line we're still bound to get someone new joining.

Pete (Pete), Monday, 9 June 2003 12:14 (twenty-two years ago)

crips are proper food mr sinker...
chewable + swallowable = food
chewable + not swallowable = gum

Dave Stelfox (Dave Stelfox), Monday, 9 June 2003 12:15 (twenty-two years ago)

next you'll be saying they're vegetables mr stelfox

the phrase "i'm starving" when used in a context where crisps are available means NOT "famine is upon us" but "it's snacktime"

snacks = anyone can eat them whenever EVEN IF IT MEANS SOMEONE ELSE DOESN'T GET ONE
(chocolate = pudding so this doesn't apply) (cf "my last rolo" and similar texts)

mark s (mark s), Monday, 9 June 2003 12:20 (twenty-two years ago)

crisps not green and not carrots, therefore not veg, obv!

Dave Stelfox (Dave Stelfox), Monday, 9 June 2003 12:23 (twenty-two years ago)

Snacking is the bane of early 21st century civilization. Sissy is the epitome of the snacking me generation.

Luckily the good people at Doritos Dippas are working on a more egalitarian co-operative form of snacking as exemplified by their Friendchips manifesto.
(This has been undermined somewhat by having the knobend from My Family in the advert).

Pete (Pete), Monday, 9 June 2003 12:24 (twenty-two years ago)

the knobend from My Family in the advert

there's not just one!

MarkH (MarkH), Monday, 9 June 2003 12:25 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't mind if another woman goes. If it's Sissy. Also I think it will force the situation to change, as three against six will just not work. Plus the emerging tension between Sissy and Steph has potential...

Archel (Archel), Monday, 9 June 2003 12:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Point taken.

Zoe Wanamaker is supposedly playing Hildy Johnston in the National Theatre version of His Girl Friday. This makes me want to weep.

In checking IMDB for more Sissy Spacek films so we can move on from the admittedly very funny Carrie jokes that have been done so far I discovered that Sissy Spacek is the voice of Anne Uumellmahaye in the Man With Two Brains. I am gobsmacked.

Pete (Pete), Monday, 9 June 2003 12:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Archel yes so if a woman must go then it should be the cig rustler, whatever her name is.

Tim (Tim), Monday, 9 June 2003 12:32 (twenty-two years ago)

Jesus. The main crime Sissy has committed is eating more crisps than the rest of them. Instead of bitching about it behind her back WHY OH WHY doesn't someone say 'blimey, Siss, go steady on the crisps or you will shrivel up like a slug ha ha' or similar light hearted comment designed to let her know she is eating too many crisps. Jon's talk to Nush doesn't seem to have achieved anything other than a persecution complex in the girls. Since no one is going to say outright SISSY YOU ARE A CRISP GUZZLING OLD TART then the problem won't get solved and they will continue to receive less than their crisp ration and have only themselves to blame.

Emma, Monday, 9 June 2003 12:34 (twenty-two years ago)

no one says that = they ph34r her violent telekinetic abilities ability to project vocal sexiness onto a disembodied brain

mark s (mark s), Monday, 9 June 2003 12:38 (twenty-two years ago)

Except of course by using the age old method of getting them voted out. Ha ha. Though I think the real fault is Big Brothers for not giving them a Tuperware contain unto which they could empty a part opened crisp packet for more crisp joy later in the day.

Have they not tried making their own Chick Pea sourced crisps.

Pete (Pete), Monday, 9 June 2003 12:39 (twenty-two years ago)

Indeed. I only found out the other day that Sissy is just her nickname. I thought it was just a coincidence.

People are haunted by the memories of past contestants. Hence the 'Arrgh - Anoushka is the new Jade' nonsense. And I think people have Adele in the back of their minds when they dissSissy.

As Pete says, Ray by far the most obnoxious, but he is pretty safe from eviction at the moment I think.

N. (nickdastoor), Monday, 9 June 2003 12:41 (twenty-two years ago)

Since no one is going to say outright SISSY YOU ARE A CRISP GUZZLING OLD TART then the problem won't get solved and they will continue to receive less than their crisp ration and have only FEDERICO to blame

mark s (mark s), Monday, 9 June 2003 12:44 (twenty-two years ago)

But Emma, bitching behind Sissy's (or whoever's) back is meat and drink to BB (in the absence of any ACTUAL meat or drink haha).

Though raging honesty is also fun.

I think Jon was trying to do a good thing in explaining to Nush the feeling in the Boy Camp, but in fact just looked like a bit of a git and exposed the full extent of the whispering campaign.

Archel (Archel), Monday, 9 June 2003 12:46 (twenty-two years ago)

haha note n.'s use of "the other day": BB4 is less old than the timespan that "the other day" covers hence he is not off the hook

mark s (mark s), Monday, 9 June 2003 12:49 (twenty-two years ago)

Off the hook?

btw, my 'Indeed' above looks a bit odd following Pete's chick pea crisps idea. It was actually meant to endorse what Emma had said. Not that I'm opposed to chick pea crisps.

N. (nickdastoor), Monday, 9 June 2003 12:51 (twenty-two years ago)

WRIGGLE FOR YR LIFE HOOK BOY

mark s (mark s), Monday, 9 June 2003 12:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Bitching is indeed part of the fun but it is important to maintain a healthy distance i.e. by all means by entertained by the petty sniping but do not allow yourself to be drawn in. The tone of some of this thread seems to agree that Sissy must not only go but be hung, drawn & quartered because she had the audacity to eat too many crisps.

Emma, Monday, 9 June 2003 12:57 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't mind Sissy at all. She's sulky, cries at the drop of a hat and is great entertainment.

Surely GOS MUST GO. His "gangsta rapper" impressions are puerile, he has a foul mouth, he is so obvious in his "subtle" attempts to mix it and stir the others. There's a really sleazy quality about him that I really can't stand.

BB4 - best of the lot??

Ben Mott (Ben Mott), Monday, 9 June 2003 13:01 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes, I don't care about the crisps. More concerned about the mardiness.

Archel (Archel), Monday, 9 June 2003 13:02 (twenty-two years ago)

MUST GO TOP FOUR (in the correct order):

FISHBOY
Ray
Cig rustler Tania
Federico

Tim (Tim), Monday, 9 June 2003 13:06 (twenty-two years ago)

I couldn't believe that she sulked so much, considering she got into the secret room last week by doing sweet fa!!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 9 June 2003 13:07 (twenty-two years ago)

cameron must stay obv

mark s (mark s), Monday, 9 June 2003 13:07 (twenty-two years ago)

Cameron must stay because he was reading out relevant bits from the Bible to himself re. their food crisis. Perhaps the parable of the loaves and fishes?

Archel (Archel), Monday, 9 June 2003 13:10 (twenty-two years ago)

haha BBHouse shd have MENE MENE TEKEL UPHARSIN written on the wall

mark s (mark s), Monday, 9 June 2003 13:12 (twenty-two years ago)

Er, HEIN? (Is that what the moving finger writes and having writ moves on?)

He brings stability and must go.

Tim (Tim), Monday, 9 June 2003 13:15 (twenty-two years ago)

he must stay so i can make more bible jokes

methuselah s (mark s), Monday, 9 June 2003 13:17 (twenty-two years ago)

Why does Gos never get mentioned on BB threads? If ILE is anything to go by, he is slipping behind the sofa of the collective consciousness and will therefore make it to the final without making any impression on anyone ever. That and the fact that he can cook and therefore is the prime asset inside the house.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 9 June 2003 13:29 (twenty-two years ago)

Collective national consciousness, even.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 9 June 2003 13:29 (twenty-two years ago)

BIG BROTHER MUST GO!

DV (dirtyvicar), Monday, 9 June 2003 13:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Gos is not mentioned because the only thing that strikes the BB viewer about him is that he is fat. As it is not considered the done thing to mention such things, his presence goes unremarked.

Emma, Monday, 9 June 2003 13:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Sissy will probably do quite well when she leaves. Endorsements for Kleenex, Andrex, maybe Optrex?

Ben Mott (Ben Mott), Monday, 9 June 2003 13:59 (twenty-two years ago)

Gos is not worth bothering about because as the house chef he will not get nominated until the very end (when he will get 1% of the vote and lose badly). Being indispensible to the house has been tried before (hello Elizabeth) and has not worked as a winning strategy.

Emma isn't that the point of the MUST GO threads - we blow everything out of proportion.

Pete (Pete), Monday, 9 June 2003 14:43 (twenty-two years ago)

I heard that, when it was announced that justine was evicted, sissy started shouting "she didn't/doesn't want to go!!!"

while everyone was there, incl. jon.

????????????????????????????

she is a moronzzzzzzz.

RJG (RJG), Monday, 9 June 2003 15:06 (twenty-two years ago)

(But not everything out of all proportion).

Pete (Pete), Monday, 9 June 2003 15:12 (twenty-two years ago)

Cameron must go!

jel -- (jel), Monday, 9 June 2003 21:55 (twenty-two years ago)

why?

N. (nickdastoor), Monday, 9 June 2003 22:12 (twenty-two years ago)

Aye. Cameron is the BB housemate I've most despised ever. I detest the cunt & would be entertained by the onset of hernias etc.

Once again, Sissy's teeth are the best thing on telly. She must stay.

Gos is crazy with his overuse of the word "mate".

Eyeball Kicks (Eyeball Kicks), Monday, 9 June 2003 22:13 (twenty-two years ago)

Tonight's bell ringing practice reminded me of the fractious Get Back Beatles sessions. Jon = Paul. Nush = John. Steph = George. Federico = Ringo.

N. (nickdastoor), Monday, 9 June 2003 22:18 (twenty-two years ago)

http://www.channel4.com/bigbrother/media/news/18/18_thrush_b.jpg

Meanwhile, through the glass doors in the lounge, the contrast couldn't have been sharper: the boys were challenging each other to bare-chested duels.

"What are they doing?" Sissy enquired of a bemused looking Nush, who'd just rejoined her girlfriends.

"They're having a sort of gay wrestle where they take all their clothes off and grab each other," she responded.

N. (nickdastoor), Monday, 9 June 2003 22:34 (twenty-two years ago)

Urgent and key informaton on where the housemates stand on LOTR, from digitalspy's round the clock watch:

12:06 Nush brings up Lord of the Rings, the bit where 'the dude goes evil'. Nush really liked it. Cameron couldn't watch it, Tania doesn't like it. Cam and Tania not into sci-fi/fantasy.

N. (nickdastoor), Monday, 9 June 2003 23:07 (twenty-two years ago)

I also heard that the rules for the bell-task stated no ringing before sometime or fail. and that thedarico was all ringing them and shit.

RJG (RJG), Monday, 9 June 2003 23:54 (twenty-two years ago)

What's Big Brother or something I'm rilly cool etc

Matt (Matt), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 01:41 (twenty-two years ago)

Them digital spy hourly updates are better than watching the programme (Nush does floppy wristed gesture....)

Pete (Pete), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 08:14 (twenty-two years ago)

Cameron's refusal to argue has evolved into a refusal even to discuss anything. He must go (though I think EK may be reacting a touch harshly).

Sissy's critique of Nush last night = spot on.

Tim (Tim), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 08:25 (twenty-two years ago)

Are you mad?? Nush is lovely. Actually the way both she and Sissy got stuff out in the open last night was good to see, but if everyone did that there'd be no show.

Archel (Archel), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 08:37 (twenty-two years ago)

Nush just put her face in her hands and tried to avoid the situation! It was brilliant.

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 08:41 (twenty-two years ago)

She may or may not be nice but she's clearly a smart interpersonal operator (this isn't necessarily a bad thing) and she's much more in control of the way people are around her than her hippy dippy front immediately suggests.

I'll grant that moaning "[X] is totally playing the game" is a stoopid thing.

Tim (Tim), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 08:45 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah her interpersonal behaviour is definitely conscious rather than instinctive, but I relate to that :)

I couldn't quite understand where Sissy was seeing 'tactics' anyway.

Archel (Archel), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 08:49 (twenty-two years ago)

Archel - what you didn't see on C4 what did on E4 was Nush and Tania bitching about Sissy shortly after their heart to heart.

Ben Mott (Ben Mott), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 08:57 (twenty-two years ago)

Ooh.

Archel (Archel), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 09:10 (twenty-two years ago)

Aah!

Tim (Tim), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 09:23 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah and C$'s edited highlights didn't make clear that Nush's comeback about overhearing sissy moaning about the chickpeas she coojed eventually had sissy wailing even more loudly than usual!

why are the weekly tasks so bloody stupid this time? next week: knit two pullovers and a balaclava???

zebedee (zebedee), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 09:32 (twenty-two years ago)

Nush's tactic for dealing with Sissy's allegation of 'funny looks' (which may or may not be true) = half heartedly apologise by denying having done it then attempt to get the attention back to herself by claiming she was doing it because of a slight against herself. Thus she paints herself as the victim. SHE MUST GO. I am on a Nush-hating vibe at the moment.

Emma, Tuesday, 10 June 2003 09:35 (twenty-two years ago)

Nush is a flawed genius.

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 09:37 (twenty-two years ago)

I have decided to conclude that Nush was just having a bad day. After being browbeaten by Jon for hours, who can blame her for not being in the mood to be particularly apologetic?

Archel (Archel), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 09:39 (twenty-two years ago)

Emma is OTM. Apparently, Nush gives really crap reasons AGAIN for her nominations this week. I do not call this "witty". Nush must go!

zebedee (zebedee), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 09:40 (twenty-two years ago)

The Nush Must go thread is next week. Nush cast in new role as evil genius makes her even more rocking.

Pete (Pete), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 09:43 (twenty-two years ago)

Nush is pathologically conflict averse. I can relate to that. Sissy is not. I find that attractive. They represent the ying and yang of my ideal woman.

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 09:43 (twenty-two years ago)

N your fantasies are showing.

Nush is not as bad as Cameron, whose personality becomes more and more blancmangeish by the day.

The Jon / Nush face off is interesting because it's good to watch She Who Rules Inside clash with the anointed one.

I think Jon might go this week, spoiling all this fun.

Tim (Tim), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 09:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Cameron is living like a good Christian and loving his neighbours. Obviously this will not last, but he's trying.

Archel (Archel), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 09:47 (twenty-two years ago)

i did wonder this morning whether NUSH actually = EVIL in the russian alphabet or something

zebedee (zebedee), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 09:49 (twenty-two years ago)

Cameron must die, he's a menace

chris (chris), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 09:50 (twenty-two years ago)

Up for nomination. Federico, Jon and SISSY!

Ph34r my predictive skillZor.

Pete (Pete), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 09:51 (twenty-two years ago)

cameron must stay/nush must stay/jon must stay/sissy must

ray can go

mark s (mark s), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 09:53 (twenty-two years ago)

The three most interesting/likeable members of the BB household. Oh, decisions, decisions..

Ben Mott (Ben Mott), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 09:54 (twenty-two years ago)

Federico must go.

I fear for Jon though, his novelty may be wearing rather thin.

How much humour would there be in another woman being evicted?

Tim (Tim), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 09:59 (twenty-two years ago)

I think Fed will actually go (esp if he fucks up the task), though if the reports of Sissy's post nomination strop are anything to go by, it might be a close run thing. I think Jon's safe because the TV show now has a new favourite to pick on = we won't hear as many Jon dullisms.

Pete (Pete), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 10:00 (twenty-two years ago)

B-b-b-but.. I want to see Ray smash up the entire house in a towering rage when they lose their fifth successive task, a tense moment only allieviated by the sight of Federico sitting in the chicken coop and whimpering quietly to himself.

I want Cameron to stay, just because I'm going to do a Hopkins and be contrary. Trania must go.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 10:03 (twenty-two years ago)

YEs yes Matt, we all want Ray and Tania to go - but this week we have to choose between Fed, Jon and Sissy. And I have a feeling that Jon will last on the goodwill of the BP again this week, leaving it down to who sulks the most = SISSY!

Pete (Pete), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 10:06 (twenty-two years ago)

This time last week I'd have said Fed was a shoe-in for his despicable unwillingness to admit his own failure. Now I'm not so sure. I think the BP may decide to keep Sissy because it rather likes the fireworks.

Tim (Tim), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 10:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Ah - didn't see the nominations. I predict we will get endless footage of Sissy crying and throwing strops (or recycled old footage if necessary). Fed will stay because girls fancy him. Still.

Who nominated who then?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 10:09 (twenty-two years ago)

I think sissy will go, with a large chunk of the vote. She's not going to do herself any favours between now and friday. Her comment on Nush playing the game was very interesting, because she's not been playing it at all this week, or if she has she's very very bad at it!

Vicky (Vicky), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 10:13 (twenty-two years ago)

The only thing likely to keep Sissy in are:
Blokes irrational hatred for Fed (see Federico must go thread - Ironically the one thing that would definately keep Fed in would be him failing the task this week).
A rapid change in personality, ie less sulking, poss more arguing.
People thinking a gurl can't go (which could well inform a lot of the voting).

Emma will be voting Tickle I warrant you.
I'm voting Sissy.

Pete (Pete), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 10:18 (twenty-two years ago)

I've started warming to Fed now he's showing his vulnerability and weirdness, I hope he won't go, he's pretty good value.

Jon nearly made me kick the tv in last night, but hey, it's the Brent effect innit?

Sissy, is turning into a right whingeing cow, she must go, that though would give us three girls and 6 boys, therefore.....welcome new female housemate.

chris (chris), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 10:21 (twenty-two years ago)

But Pete WOMEN do all the voting as has been proved by the jealous psycho women voting out other women so far. Though maybe now their sympathy with the other ladies in the house + fancying Fed = AT LAST Jon might go PLEASE GOD.

I will be voting for him with renewed vigour.

Emma, Tuesday, 10 June 2003 10:22 (twenty-two years ago)

I meant that Sissy's not been playing the game. Which is very stupid, given that it is a game.

I don't think the gender balance will make that much difference to people who will actualy spend money to vote.

Sissy will be such good value when she comes out. I can't wait!

Vicky (Vicky), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 10:24 (twenty-two years ago)

If, as Pete says, C4 get bored of screening lots of John dullisms, it robs him of his prime asset in the house, viewers get bored, Jon gets evicted. I think he still has a couple of weeks left in him though.

(Is it mostly girls nominating Jon in the house, incidentally? Because he might slip out of the nominations altogether when there are fewer women in there?)

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 10:26 (twenty-two years ago)

Though if the men succeed in their mission to rid the house of girls, they will have to start nominating each other.

Emma, Tuesday, 10 June 2003 10:30 (twenty-two years ago)

when the beasts exterminate their prey, they prey upon the weak and aged........

chris (chris), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 10:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Or they all gay up. ihttp://www.channel4.com/bigbrother/media/news/18/18_thrush_b.jpg

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 10:32 (twenty-two years ago)

No, last week the only people who did not nominate Jon were Federico, Sissy, Steph and Tania (and himself). Apparently Sissy hopes that the nominations were 8,2,2 votes. She needs Jon to explain to her that that breakdown couldn't happen.

marianna, Tuesday, 10 June 2003 10:32 (twenty-two years ago)

when will we see a new housemate? is it too early now? Surely if they go down to 3 women after Sissy goes out they'll have to put a woman in or the whole place will turn into Animal house, erm, actually that would be great wouldn't it?

Gos = Bluto
Jon = the one who ends up working for the Nixon administration.
Scott and Ray = the two main blokes (boof and the other one)
Cameron = the one played by Amadeus

chris (chris), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 10:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Chris what?

Marianna I think I need you to explain to me why 8-2-2 couldn't happen.

I'm increasingly thinking that Sissy's probably the nicest person in the house but I can't prove that and I wish she'd stop skriking at every opportunity.

Tim (Tim), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 10:42 (twenty-two years ago)

have they actually said they will be introducing a new housemate for no good reason?

Alan (Alan), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 10:42 (twenty-two years ago)

boof? sorry, Boon.

BB = Dean Wormer natch

chris (chris), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 10:43 (twenty-two years ago)

No Alang, but they do usually don't they? apart from BB1?

chris (chris), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 10:43 (twenty-two years ago)

BB1 had Clare (though only cause Bateman got chucked out)

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 10:45 (twenty-two years ago)

BB3 had new housemates because Sandy and Sunita walked out, didn't they?

BB2 had that novelty vote-a-housemate-in thing.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 10:49 (twenty-two years ago)

"Back to Basics BB" = no surprises i expect and i don't think there'll be anyone chucked out or walkers, so no new housemate. I love this thread BTW. Keep up the good work. I am even more pro Jon than before. Sissy to go would be car-crash viewing madness, but Fed really is overdue -- i don't think even women like him anymore. Emma is the exception that proves the etc (as per)

Alan (Alan), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 10:50 (twenty-two years ago)

Fed is proof that the Great British Female Public actually find ludicrously malnourished men sexy, which I always thought was some sort of myth. Anyway, it's given me hope.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 10:52 (twenty-two years ago)

They don't like him cause he is malnourished. They like him because he is full of himself and is supposedly good looking.

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 10:56 (twenty-two years ago)

nush is a gothic nimby clad in stain-resistant non-stick hippie veneer

like some kind of stealth bomber

Snowy Mann (rdmanston), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 10:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Newsround's webpage poll. Apparently, the BB housemates are a bouncy lot.

Jon 23.99%
Steph 3.58%
Cameron 8.59%
Federico 21.12%
Nush 9.07%
Tania 8.35%
Gos 4.89%
Scott 8.00%
Ray 6.09%
Sissy 6.32%

And, of course, Sissy must go. I've got a feeling her eviction could be even side-splittingly funnier than Justine's.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 10:58 (twenty-two years ago)

Fed looks increasingly like Gollum.

Archel (Archel), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 10:59 (twenty-two years ago)

Sissy will be evicted. Tania will break a window in outrage. Nush will secretly be smirking.

Archel (Archel), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 11:01 (twenty-two years ago)

I think if the vote split had been 8 - 2 - 2 there would have been 8 votes left to distribute among 7 remaining housemates, so someone would have also received at least 2 votes. It could have been 9-2-2 though I think.

marianna, Tuesday, 10 June 2003 11:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Newsround poll analysis :

Jon 23.99% - popular with boys because he likes LOTR and logic

Federico 21.12% - popular with girls cause he is nice looking in an unthreatening way

Steph 3.58% - unpopular because she reminds kids of square old parents

Gos 4.89% - unpopular because he is fat and kids are cunts like that

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 11:04 (twenty-two years ago)

Marianna you're a genius.

Haha cross post: Nick so are you.

Tim (Tim), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 11:15 (twenty-two years ago)

Why do the men of ILE find it so hard to believe that Fed is a gorgeous hunk (well more of a sliver than a hunk) of sizzling sexiness? (NB degree to which I fancy Fed exaggerated for rhetorical reasons).

Emma, Tuesday, 10 June 2003 11:27 (twenty-two years ago)

More proof why Maths is better than science. WHat does science tell us about Big Brother eh? Naff all.

Emma - because we are all georgeous hunks of sizzling sexiness and he is nothing like us. (Truth bent out of all real shape for rhetorical reasons).

Pete (Pete), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 11:29 (twenty-two years ago)

science tells us that tears are used to express emotions ptee!!

mark s (mark s), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 11:51 (twenty-two years ago)

nice looking in an unthreatening way

how can you be nice-looking in a threatening way?

MarkH (MarkH), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 11:55 (twenty-two years ago)

I think if the vote split had been 8 - 2 - 2 there would have been 8 votes left to distribute among 7 remaining housemates, so someone would have also received at least 2 votes. It could have been 9-2-2 though I think.

She probably said 8-2-2 because she knew she hadn't voted for Jon. Or, if she did vote for Jon, saying 9-2-2 would have let him know that she did so, which would be a breach of the rules.

Eyeball Kicks (Eyeball Kicks), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 11:57 (twenty-two years ago)

He looks like he's just had a shit.

In some ways, since he made this just after Truly Madly Deeply he had.

Pete (Pete), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 12:07 (twenty-two years ago)

Jon only got 6 votes, and fed and sissy got 4 each.

I don't think I can bear to hear her bleating on for 3.5 days about how 'oh, it's going to be me! I know it is... everyone's got in in for the girls...I told you it would be me...'

Vicky (Vicky), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 12:09 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, we knew it was 6 - 4 - 4, but sissy was trying to cheer herself up by saying that the vote might have been 8 for jon and 2 for her and fed.

marianna, Tuesday, 10 June 2003 12:13 (twenty-two years ago)

how can you be nice-looking in a threatening way?

You know, like Russell Crowe.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 14:03 (twenty-two years ago)

It will be the movie of 2003, mark my words -- though From Justin 2 Kelly might run a close second.

Nicole (Nicole), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 14:05 (twenty-two years ago)

Where is his eyepatch? Or has he got a wooden leg instead?

Pete (Pete), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 14:07 (twenty-two years ago)

though From Justin 2 Kelly might run a close second

It'll be the quickest turnaround to a midnight/bad movie classic since they remarketed Showgirls.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 14:17 (twenty-two years ago)

How many times do you get to watch Sideshow Bob tongue a troll?

Nicole (Nicole), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 14:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Every night at about 1:43 AM. Then I wake up screaming.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 14:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Then I have to ask you to be quiet, dammit.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 14:29 (twenty-two years ago)

You aren't the boss of me.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 14:39 (twenty-two years ago)

I can make arrangements.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 14:52 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeh - flower arrangements - ya pansy.

Pete (Pete), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 14:55 (twenty-two years ago)

Nush was actually rather funny tonight. Her "little girl lost" act is uncannily reminiscent of the late Princess Diana during that infamous Panorama interview.

Ben Mott (Ben Mott), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 21:34 (twenty-two years ago)

Sissy and Steph have made over Cameron!

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 22:46 (twenty-two years ago)

The voting:

Jon 6 votes
Fed 4 votes
Sissy 4 votes
Cameron 2 votes
Steph 2 votes
Nush 1 vote
Scott 1 vote

The point is: Gos, Ray & Tania (the three most evictable people if we discount the cunt Cameron) received no votes whatsoever.

Eyeball Kicks (Eyeball Kicks), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 23:35 (twenty-two years ago)

What's wrong w/ Tania? What has she done?

Andrew L (Andrew L), Wednesday, 11 June 2003 06:29 (twenty-two years ago)

What's wrong with gos? Apart from the fact that he didn't look very happy nominating.

It's very interesting watching the uncut nominations on E4 and then seeing the cut version on BB later. Jon's reasoning for nominating sissy, though still ridiculous and bound to draw the wrath of veggies everywhere, was more understandable when you heard him say that it was because she wouldn't eat quorn, and pasta, and loads of other things most veggies eat, and that's why she was taking up a lot of the food money.

I can't believe I kind of stood up for jon...

Vicky (Vicky), Wednesday, 11 June 2003 06:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, Fussy must go. (However, isn't meat more expensive than pasta etc, hm? Maybe they should all eat veggie for a while. Or eat Sissy.)

Archel (Archel), Wednesday, 11 June 2003 07:22 (twenty-two years ago)

but what they only very occassionally mention is that "basic rations" includes a bit of meat or fush every day, which is why they spent most of their £36 on BREAD and bog roll, because they are odd.

how come they don't have to make bread this year anyway?

also gos and nush should go (in the near future) for being SHIT at nominating. sissy to go this week due to extreme mardiness...

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Wednesday, 11 June 2003 07:57 (twenty-two years ago)

Gos made bread, voluntarily, in the first week. Do basic rations include flour and yeast?

Archel (Archel), Wednesday, 11 June 2003 08:06 (twenty-two years ago)

I like Nush's nominations, they're funny. plus Gos does make bread, they just buy more for some reason

chris (chris), Wednesday, 11 June 2003 08:07 (twenty-two years ago)

They are gluten fiends.

Emma, Wednesday, 11 June 2003 08:08 (twenty-two years ago)

gluten gluttons?

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Wednesday, 11 June 2003 08:13 (twenty-two years ago)

the three most evictable people

But aren't the three most evictable = the three most boring people = the people that will get nominated last, because being interesting is just sticking your head above the parapet?

I mean, our interests and the housemates' don't really coincide.

It may be poor gamesmanship to put all three of the interesting ones up for nomination, though. It helps everyone else to have them around, since if those were the next three to go, the parapet will be lower, until we see "Name must go for clipping his toenails from little to big".

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Wednesday, 11 June 2003 08:40 (twenty-two years ago)

clipping his toenails from little to big

??

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 11 June 2003 09:30 (twenty-two years ago)

little toe to big toe, obv, rather than the "right" way in a big-endian little-endian type controversy

Alan (Alan), Wednesday, 11 June 2003 09:32 (twenty-two years ago)

According to the CH4BB site STEPH CAN'T GO: http://www.channel4.com/bigbrother/news/newsstory.jsp?id=2286

Tim (Tim), Wednesday, 11 June 2003 09:35 (twenty-two years ago)

Sissy needs to go, if she's that scared why on earth go in there in the first place. I want Jon to go personally, but after sissy's performance when she didn't get into the 'treat' room, she needs to go!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Wednesday, 11 June 2003 09:42 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh, I thought it was nail clipper voodoo.

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 11 June 2003 09:45 (twenty-two years ago)

BB website writers don't seem to know what 'infer' means.

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 11 June 2003 09:48 (twenty-two years ago)

task in 15 minutes people!

bb spy has all the details: ten minutes to complete - two chances to do it.

and Jon has been cocking up the most in practice.

chris (chris), Wednesday, 11 June 2003 13:37 (twenty-two years ago)

They've failed again.

Eyeball Kicks (Eyeball Kicks), Wednesday, 11 June 2003 14:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Whose fault was it this time?

Emma, Wednesday, 11 June 2003 14:03 (twenty-two years ago)

everyone's by the sound of it! Complete and utter breakdown, both times!

Vicky (Vicky), Wednesday, 11 June 2003 14:05 (twenty-two years ago)

While this is funny, for god's sake BB give them some booze so we can see some drunken antics. Or maybe Jon could redeem himself by using his technical skills for something useful ie make a still in the garden.

Emma, Wednesday, 11 June 2003 14:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Why do they keep gambling so much of their budget?

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 11 June 2003 14:09 (twenty-two years ago)

The logic this week was that they managed last week on £30 or whatever so the could again so they might as well gamble.

I suspect the existence of the treat room may make the prospect of a week without cider money more tolerable.

Tim (Tim), Wednesday, 11 June 2003 14:15 (twenty-two years ago)

They have to bet at least 50%.

jel -- (jel), Wednesday, 11 June 2003 14:52 (twenty-two years ago)

BB have relented though and is giving them a Chinese takeaway and some "refreshments" (booze) for their good effort. Backtracking. Hopefully it should loosen a few tongues...

Ben Mott (Ben Mott), Wednesday, 11 June 2003 15:57 (twenty-two years ago)

Ha. Sissy is gone. Fear her evil ways no longer.

The off licence down the road from us had replaced its "Tennents Lager 6 cans for £5" blackboard witn one saying "Vote Sissy Out" and the telephone number to do just that.

I am distraught.

RickyT (RickyT), Friday, 13 June 2003 20:16 (twenty-two years ago)

Sissy has just looked v. shocked at being shown a picture of the aforementioned "lezzing up" incident.

"Who's that" she said. How much drink did they get?

ailsa (ailsa), Friday, 13 June 2003 20:17 (twenty-two years ago)

I figured out what it actually is that annoys me about Sissy: the lines between her teeth are too distinct!

Cozen (Cozen), Friday, 13 June 2003 20:20 (twenty-two years ago)

I figured out what it actually is that annoys me about Sissy: the lines between her teeth are too distinct!

More criticism of the perfect teeth? No offence, but you're full of wind.

Eyeball Kicks (Eyeball Kicks), Friday, 13 June 2003 20:44 (twenty-two years ago)

He does talk a lot of wind. I was aghast tonight at pissed Ally C going about how attractive Justine was. To me she is clearly the least attractive of a, to be fair, pretty damn OK bunch. But still:

6. Justine
5. Trania
4. Steph
3. Anoushka
2. Sissy
1. Nush

Though Sissy kind of pushes for No. 1 pretty hard when I'm in a certain mood.

N. (nickdastoor), Friday, 13 June 2003 23:09 (twenty-two years ago)

I can only think that this display of interest in such 'average' ladies is the result of you staging your own BB4 with only a telly, a tennis racket and some cotton wool for company?

Lara (Lara), Friday, 13 June 2003 23:24 (twenty-two years ago)

I meant 'OK' to mean 'way above average'. I don't know what this says about me and the state of the world.

N. (nickdastoor), Friday, 13 June 2003 23:29 (twenty-two years ago)

I know what you meant. I didn't think you had such catholic tastes is all.

Lara (Lara), Friday, 13 June 2003 23:30 (twenty-two years ago)

I think the word 'catholic' is one of the most beautiful the English language has to offer.

N. (nickdastoor), Friday, 13 June 2003 23:31 (twenty-two years ago)

N. - the nodding dog of late night quips.

Lara (Lara), Friday, 13 June 2003 23:34 (twenty-two years ago)

That was no quip! You want quips? Errmm...

N. (nickdastoor), Friday, 13 June 2003 23:35 (twenty-two years ago)

A walnut quip.

Lara (Lara), Friday, 13 June 2003 23:37 (twenty-two years ago)

Cozen (Cozen), Saturday, 14 June 2003 10:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Cozen (Cozen), Saturday, 14 June 2003 10:27 (twenty-two years ago)

I love Sissy. I can't remember agreeing with N so heartily.

Ronan (Ronan), Saturday, 14 June 2003 10:29 (twenty-two years ago)

I too love Sissy. She was representing the Brethren.

Funny - after talking to Tim about how much I wanted Ray out yesterday evening, I now find myself backtracking. Admittedly this is purely because of the possibility he might actually be the first BB contestant to hit another.

Tag (Tag), Saturday, 14 June 2003 16:18 (twenty-two years ago)
