I've had nasty nightmares about your last paragraph, Mr. Hand. What appeared to be just another inoffensively run-of-the-mill puff piece about this curiously grating band turned into a headless chicken, breathlessly scratching and clamoring for whatever sodden feed might get kicked its way. While I don't have a problem with sticking paragraphs together at random, the last one seemed bolted on from another article altogether, erasing whatever in the world you were trying to say. A kind of desperate ratatouille of superlatives in search of a dust-jacket, a new voice in search of a pull-quote. I expected better.

Now that you mention it, in Bordeaux I went to the beach and there were fucking clumps of OIL down in the sand left over from some big tanker spill more than three months ago! When we got out of the water we had these huge globs of it stuck to our feet, so we had to rifle the house for industrial-strength cleaner or something because water didn't even work. Maybe the cleaner is slowly turning my skin to goo.
