the 91 bus route...

doom-e, Monday, 30 June 2003 11:54 (twenty-two years ago)

The utter crapulence of record shops in Exeter is pissing me off. I spent my lunch hour today (after handing in my application for the new job) running aroudn Exeter city centre scouring Solo, HMV, Virgin and MVC for the new David Sylvian record, any old David Sylvian records (pref. Beautiful Trees or whatever it's called), Cold House by Hood and Endless Summer by Fennesz. Now, I didn't realistically expect to find the Fennesz record, but I thought I stood a pretty good chance of getting hold of at least one of the other three. But oh no, not a single fucking one of them, anywhere in fucking Exeter. This town is a shambles for buying music; no wonder I am (as Cozen put it) "an Amazon fiend".

RAR!

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Monday, 30 June 2003 11:55 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh yeah; and it was fucking hot too, so now I'm all sweaty.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Monday, 30 June 2003 11:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh yeah; and on Saturday the only condoms Emma and I had were the free ones that came with NME (to encourage the hippies to shag safely) only they're Durex 'Performa' which have got ANAESTHETIC lubricant cream inside the tip to that your dick goes numb and you can't feel anything and your girlfriend gets paranoid about Mr Floppy meaning that you don't fancy her anymore.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Monday, 30 June 2003 11:58 (twenty-two years ago)

IT'S FUCKING PISSING IT DOWN AND I WANT TO GO RUNNING BUT ALL THE COUNTRYSIDE ROUND HERE IS FLAT AND BORING ANYWAY SO IT WOULD BE SHIT DAMN IT I'LL HAVE TO WATCH BUFFY INSTEAD AND HAVE A NICE CUP OF TEA oh hang on, that doesn't seem so bad....

Matt (Matt), Monday, 30 June 2003 11:58 (twenty-two years ago)

Why is no one I want to work for hiring right now?

Ed (dali), Monday, 30 June 2003 12:00 (twenty-two years ago)

In fact one of my top companies I want to work for has just announced that it will lay off 2000 people.

Ed (dali), Monday, 30 June 2003 12:00 (twenty-two years ago)

WHat's up with the 91 bus Doomie. Its not been that sluggish of late?

My answer is obviously missing Glastonbury and the memory of that rubbish film 28 Days Later.

(Ed, work doesn't work like that. The people doing the hiring are in the position of power. You have NONE).

Pete (Pete), Monday, 30 June 2003 12:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Because they're too busy raising fares and announcing redundancies SIMULTANEOUSLY?

Poor Nick. NME: it turns your cock into Steve Sutherland - bald and numb on top. N'est ce pas?

suzy (suzy), Monday, 30 June 2003 12:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Pete, will you hire me?

Ed (dali), Monday, 30 June 2003 12:02 (twenty-two years ago)

1. bitter freaks who think that if you write an article criticising, with humour, a shite magazine, that they think it's ok to flood your email with frankly bizarre death threats.

2. england. why does it always rain on me?

3. king's cross. why is it always so dirty?

4. clever-clever folk who are barely masquing high degrees of self-loathing.

5. england.

6. angie stone.

doom-e, Monday, 30 June 2003 12:06 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh I'm glad Ed can't get a job with THAT company. All my post would end up smelling of coal.

Unfortunately I am not hiring at the moment - and anyway as we all know I run a very staff light operation being of the opinion that the largest expense a small business cannot afford is staff. What are your qualifications?

Pete (Pete), Monday, 30 June 2003 12:08 (twenty-two years ago)

7. the 91 bus that takes hours because of traffic jams caused by parents who are taking their children to school in huge land rovers.

doom-e, Monday, 30 June 2003 12:09 (twenty-two years ago)

I am pissed off as I am really busy at work (after getting stuck in traffic this morning) with it being month end & all & pissy sales guys want stupid sales figures like yesterday & they are shitheads. I am very tired & aggitated, plus I feel sick. I am annoyed at mortgage lendors even though I havent spoken to any yet. Also, rather than my bank making a fone call so that I can transfer funds from my accounts very much in credit to an account that had hit it's overdraft limit, they have decided to charge me £40! £40 fucking quid! I mean one of the items was a £4 direct debit to the RSPCA! Jesus, i'm only trying to help & they fine me £20. Fucking banks. *breath*

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 30 June 2003 12:11 (twenty-two years ago)

I am pissed off that, despite the fact that my job description does not say 'receptionist' and I am very good at my ACTUAL job, I am being subtly criticised for not being a good enough receptionist.

I am also pissed off that I lost all my files and programs from my computer.

But I am mainly pissed off that I am having one of my anxious episodes so that even looking at the telephone makes me want to burst into tears, leading to an outbreak of self-hatred for being such a useless wuss.

Archel (Archel), Monday, 30 June 2003 12:11 (twenty-two years ago)

THE RAIN IT RAINETH ON THE JUST
AND ALSO ON THE UNJUST FELLAH!!
AND THAT'S BECAUSE THE UNJUST MAN
HAS GONE OFF WITH THE JUST'S UMBRELLAH!!

doom-e i think the point is you are holding up the ugly mirror to a project a lot too many ppl invested very unreal hopes in ("at last a mag which will reverse the malaise blah blah..."), and they leap to the conclusion that you are telling them that the malaise is actually THEM (and maybe you are, but they are angry bcz they secretly fear you are right...)

< / pop psychology 101 >

mark s (mark s), Monday, 30 June 2003 12:14 (twenty-two years ago)

Also - and this is an uregent and key point - don't get the 91 bus between the hours of 8 and 9 am. Then it is all joy.

Pete (Pete), Monday, 30 June 2003 12:17 (twenty-two years ago)

mark s you're not raging enough. Please rage more on this thread. Thank you.

PS. In order to ensure this post fullfils it's rage quotient, I shall now raise about the creased sleeve in my copy of Technicolour by Bark Psychosis which arrived this mornign and is creased where the plastic half-moon bit on the bottom left ahnd side of the inside of the jewel box cover has bent it. RAR!

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Monday, 30 June 2003 12:17 (twenty-two years ago)

i have sunburned legs.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Monday, 30 June 2003 12:17 (twenty-two years ago)

the irony being, mark s, that it did not take a genius to tell them that. they, being so deluded, that the article was in response of two ex-melody maker staff reading my rants on ilx about bang and wanting to know what i thought. i did it in the form of an article on a blog! i don't know if i now need them all emailing me? yeah, there was ONE grammatical error in it. need you tell me that every email?

doom-e, Monday, 30 June 2003 12:17 (twenty-two years ago)

More rage please Tracer.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Monday, 30 June 2003 12:18 (twenty-two years ago)

i never included my email on my blog

NICK I AM SO FURIOUS THAT I GOT THE THIRD AND FOURTH LINE OF THAT POEM WRONG IT SHD BE 'BUT MOSTLY ON THE JUST BECAUSE/THE UNJUST STOLE THE JUST'S UMBRELLAH!!" grrr

tho what a just man is doing with an umbrellah i don't exactly know — they are eevil

mark s (mark s), Monday, 30 June 2003 12:22 (twenty-two years ago)

More hats now!

Archel (Archel), Monday, 30 June 2003 12:22 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh I have got another one. Our stoopid receptionist decided that she was gonna have the day off today & anounced it to the whole of the building. However, in this lovely email that she sent out she said that I would be convering some of her duties. The first I learnt of this was reading the email this morning. I mean how difficult is it to mention that I have to get up every 10 mins to open the fucking door. I work in accounts & I am busy, I really don't need the distraction (apart from ilx, i need to keep some sanity!) & to top that, I have people asking me for teabags! Just fuck off will u!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 30 June 2003 12:23 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm pissed off with myself more than anything else, really.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 30 June 2003 12:24 (twenty-two years ago)

OK, there's this club here in Richmond, and I set up a show for my band and three other bands at the end of July. Two of the other bands are bands that we owe shows to, and the third is the local band that we're hoping will draw. I specifically designed the line-up so that there would be some cohesion among the bands, some kind of similarity to appeal to the audience and draw more people. This is because the last time my band played at this club, I let the booking person design the line-up, and we ended up playing with three nu-metal bands. So the girl from the club said I could put together the line-up, and I worked really hard contacting people to get a good show together for a change. She also asked me if we wanted a late show (10 PM) or an early show (5 PM). I asked the other bands, and emailed her saying we wanted the late show and giving her the line-up with contact info for all the bands. Did I get any reply emails from her? No, I didn't.
So yesterday I picked up the schedule for the club at a restaurant. The show I set up is listed at 5 PM, with one of the bands that I set up and two bands I've never heard of. Argh. Even if contact the booking person and have her cancel those bands for the ones I set up, we would probably still have to play the early show, because she booked someone else in the late slot. So now I have to look around Richmond's nonexistent rock club scene and try to find somewhere I can move my lineup to. Fuck.
Also the whole fucking job thing.

NA. (Nick A.), Monday, 30 June 2003 12:26 (twenty-two years ago)

Pinkpanther, you are now planning the bollocking for the receptionist, no?

Also write your bank a stiff letter about the £40 in charges. If they've rung you even once in the past to sort things out before an 'admin' charge is levied, you've got 'em (I just clawed back £175 in old charges from my bank and WE ARE NOT FINISHED YET).

suzy (suzy), Monday, 30 June 2003 12:33 (twenty-two years ago)

last time i raged was after the Freaky Trigger night when because of a police block/accident on Oxford Street i ended up missing both the last train from Marylebone and the last Central line tube West both by ONE MINUTE

stevem (blueski), Monday, 30 June 2003 12:37 (twenty-two years ago)

but steve you secretly knew you would miss public transport on a night out, because otherwise how would you manifest your traditional 7 hour journey home after one pint at the pub?

gareth (gareth), Monday, 30 June 2003 12:40 (twenty-two years ago)

anaesthetic lubricant? now this is rage worthy!

*mind boggles*

Chris Radford (Chris Radford), Monday, 30 June 2003 12:45 (twenty-two years ago)

why would you use condoms that came free from a magazine? now the mind truly boggles...!!!

doom-e, Monday, 30 June 2003 12:51 (twenty-two years ago)

What fresh hell? Builders have just started ripping the roof off and I cannot hear myself think. Possibly that's a good thing actually...

Archel (Archel), Monday, 30 June 2003 12:52 (twenty-two years ago)

waiting 12 months for a hospital appointment and then missing it
cos they 'forgot' to send me a letter saying when/where the
appointment was and then being told that i have to wait another
three months for the next available space....
the nhs really is fucked.

joni, Monday, 30 June 2003 13:32 (twenty-two years ago)

wrong company laying off staff pete.

as for qualifications I am a fully qualified dilettante with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and Italian. Malleable and adaptable, you;d want me on any team ;-)

Ed (dali), Monday, 30 June 2003 13:44 (twenty-two years ago)

The thread where I RAGE!!!!! is the "smoking is cool" one. Aaaaaarrgh. Raarrrrr! Grrrrrrr.

There. Better now.

Mark C (Mark C), Monday, 30 June 2003 13:48 (twenty-two years ago)

any foo' know that smoking is cool. enough jibber jabber, let's smoke!

doom-e, Monday, 30 June 2003 13:50 (twenty-two years ago)

Suzy - I am too busy at work to plan exactly how I'm gonna tear the receptionist down 2moro, but I am sure I'll be able to play it by ear & it will be an equally impressive sight! Also, if will gladly buy you a bottle of your favourite tipple if you'd care to write to my bank for me!! haha. I'm not safe to get on the fone to them at the moment as I may be arrested for assault!! haha! Roll on 5.30.

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 30 June 2003 13:55 (twenty-two years ago)

The receptionist IS actually a receptionist, and not a resources assistant who everyone just likes to treat as their personal message service? No? Just me then.

Archel (Archel), Monday, 30 June 2003 14:01 (twenty-two years ago)

Why is no one I want to work for hiring right now?

This is also my current complaint. Also:

1) I get responses to perhaps 1 out of every 5 resumes I send out.

2) Even the places I don't want to work wind up hiring other people.

3) The places I want to work don't even send me a "don't call us; we'll call you" note.
:^P

j.lu (j.lu), Monday, 30 June 2003 17:53 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm in the same boat. It is starting to make me seriously doubt my skills and abilities, even though it is probably just the terrible job market.

Nicole (Nicole), Monday, 30 June 2003 17:56 (twenty-two years ago)

OK, I was driving into work this morning, and i'm on the stretch of road where i squashed the squirrel (threads, passim eheh) and it's a 60mph limit road. there's this golf in front of me doing 28mph, so i try to overtake. they wait 'till i get alongside, then floor it!! better yet, the passenger looks at me w/this fucking stern face, like i'm the one driving dangerously. I HATE IT WHEN PEOPLE DO THAT F*CK YOU GOLF DRIVER AND PASSENGER!@#!@#!@#!@#

stevem (blueski), Tuesday, 1 July 2003 00:08 (twenty-two years ago)

If the NYC bicyclists are like DC bicyclists, I'm with you. Maybe these are a few rotten apples, but I have never seen a bicyclist: 1) stop at a stop sign or red light, or 2) respect pedestrian right-of-way. And usually they're not wearing helmets.

j.lu (j.lu), Tuesday, 1 July 2003 00:34 (twenty-two years ago)

where i live is even worse because the streets are flooded with delivery guys from local restaurants, and their jobs are usually dependent upon getting the food delivered now now now no excuses. so they go out on their bicycles and don't obey the traffic laws at all... they speed through red lights, they ride in the middle of the road with all the other traffic (very dangerous considering what aggressive drivers people are here), and they always turn the corner just while i'm trying to cross, not even slowing down to let me pass. one day i'd really love to send one of these idiots flying off their bicycles to land in a pile of dogshit in the gutter...

Jody Beth Rosen (Jody Beth Rosen), Tuesday, 1 July 2003 06:41 (twenty-two years ago)

I am however very mcuh not raging nabout the fact that I ordered some stuff off Amazon yesterday with a 4-5 day dispatch time, and it's already been sent! Yay Amazon!

I'm raging at Troubleman Recs, a month's gone by and no fucking sign of an order and email replies to the calibre of "that was sent. matt.". When? And my name's not fucking MATT and I don't give a fuck for yr name anyway, you bunch of tryhards

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Tuesday, 1 July 2003 07:45 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm also gonna rage at the fucking train company who run the trains down here for making me late for work (though it meant I got to listen to about 20 minutes more music on me spanky Sennheisers) and not even having the decency to tell us why. Plus, because of all the devolving and decentralisation I don't even know who the fuck to blame.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Tuesday, 1 July 2003 07:50 (twenty-two years ago)

i will listen to the stone's album again...

doom-e, Tuesday, 1 July 2003 07:56 (twenty-two years ago)

i wanted more, more than she could ever offer...

doom-e, Tuesday, 1 July 2003 08:00 (twenty-two years ago)

I cannot believe that I have been in the office for approx 1 hour & the fucking receptionist just had the cheek to tell me that she is 'popping out for a bit' & when I asked her how long she said an hour & a half. The cheek of it! Fuck, fuck, fuck!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Tuesday, 1 July 2003 08:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Grrrrr. Don't do her job for her this time. Let the company fall into ruins and blame her mwahahaha!

Archel (Archel), Tuesday, 1 July 2003 08:41 (twenty-two years ago)

Haha, she isn't that important, although she thinks she is!!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Tuesday, 1 July 2003 08:48 (twenty-two years ago)

I just typed approx. 1,300 words into the Blogger post box thing over the last two hours, hit 'post & publish', and it vanished. 'Big post error'. Useless CUNTS. The back button on the browser couldn't recover it (OK, I should've saved it / backed it up somewhere but this is an issude desk PC without Word). This has happened three times in three days on three PCs and I am mightily pissed off. RAGE

In other news, the Amazon stuff I ordered yesterday afternoon arrived this morning, despite the Hood album being on 4-5 day dispatch time. Yay Amazon.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Tuesday, 1 July 2003 09:43 (twenty-two years ago)

JBR, I too keep wanting to see a cyclist crash and burn (well, maybe not burn), but I have a feeling that if it ever happened I'd feel like I do 2 seconds after posting a bitchy personal message on ILE and regret that I'd ever wished it.

Mark C (Mark C), Tuesday, 1 July 2003 09:43 (twenty-two years ago)

when people are typing into unreliable things why do they not type it into notepad first?

gareth (gareth), Tuesday, 1 July 2003 09:45 (twenty-two years ago)

or write it using a quill pen, home-woven paper and ink made from crushed tortoise shell?

mark s (mark s), Tuesday, 1 July 2003 09:47 (twenty-two years ago)

Cos notepad ain't on this PC either. It's literally got Explorer and the library system.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Tuesday, 1 July 2003 09:47 (twenty-two years ago)

Any email? You could draft it in a message

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Tuesday, 1 July 2003 09:49 (twenty-two years ago)

I just had to deal with the lady who brought sum lunches in for meetings at work today & she asked me 'are you a temp?' It was all i could do to politely tell her that I wasnt & that I had been working here for 5 years (much longer than the receptionist) & that i was once again covering her shitty job! AAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Tuesday, 1 July 2003 09:50 (twenty-two years ago)

I will do in future, aye.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Tuesday, 1 July 2003 09:50 (twenty-two years ago)

Hope that works. Anyway Blogger is clearly deserving of some RAGE, it takes like three days for posts to show up (actually one took more like three months, once)

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Tuesday, 1 July 2003 09:54 (twenty-two years ago)

Blogger is being uncharacteristically kind to me at the moment. About the only inanimate entity that is.

Archel (Archel), Tuesday, 1 July 2003 09:58 (twenty-two years ago)

Pinkpanther, this receptionist is taking the piss (and anyway when I was a receptionist I took pisstaking to new levels but not by stranding colleagues on lunchtime cover or whatever). You said upthread that you were snowed under with work, so indicate the piles of work you have to do when you turn down her requests next time.

My own AAAAARGH happens whenever I go to the offices of Edgy Style Mag. Editor is driving me nuts right now.

suzy (suzy), Tuesday, 1 July 2003 11:16 (twenty-two years ago)

So I had words with the receptionist and it was far from the fireworks I expected, even though she started off the conversation by saying she was going to be out 2moro morning aswell!! I just said that I was 'very cross'. I didn't shout, i didn't scream, i didn't punch, i even said it was cool for her to go 2moro. What is wrong with me?? *sobs*

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Tuesday, 1 July 2003 12:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Pinkpanther for heaven's sake just rage at her next time you see her and she'll stop it.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Tuesday, 1 July 2003 12:49 (twenty-two years ago)

Thank you for your kind, encouraging words Nick, but I fear shouting at her will achieve nothing & make me look like a dick!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Tuesday, 1 July 2003 12:59 (twenty-two years ago)

Don't shjout - rage. I suggest something along the lines of this.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Tuesday, 1 July 2003 13:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Erm, step away from the keyboard Nick, there's a good lad!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Tuesday, 1 July 2003 13:07 (twenty-two years ago)

My computer is turning into a sickly 19th century female. It faints at the slightest heat. Well, that's what I am assuming it is - by and large it behaves pretty well in the morning and on cool days, but by mid afternoon it starts crashing constantly, IE, OE and windows itself.

Worst of all is that one of the commonest triggers for a crash is trying to save an email in Outlook Express. Now that's just cruel.

I did actually punch my computer the other day. It's now started making funny sounds, which I like to thing are it in pain.

Mark C (Mark C), Tuesday, 1 July 2003 13:15 (twenty-two years ago)

Or maybe it's laughing at you.

NA. (Nick A.), Tuesday, 1 July 2003 14:10 (twenty-two years ago)

i dunno pp, if it's in yer job description to take over reception duties, just do it. i like doing reception. it's easy and simple.

doom-e, Tuesday, 1 July 2003 14:15 (twenty-two years ago)

DO YOU WORK FOR VERIZON? IF SO, PLEASE KILL YOURSELF NOW! DON'T STOP TO THINK ABOUT IT - JUST RUN STRAIGHT TO THE WINDOW AND THROW YOURSELF THROUGH IT.

Chris Barrus (Chris Barrus), Tuesday, 1 July 2003 23:23 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't actually have any rage today. Yesterday I had fuckloads of rage about ex-bandmates, current bandmates, work colleagues, ex-boyfriends, etc. but today I am quite calm. What is wrong?

kate (kate), Wednesday, 2 July 2003 08:41 (twenty-two years ago)

I am positively zen as well today. I think it's because my hangover is not allowing any mental or physical exertion.

Archel (Archel), Wednesday, 2 July 2003 08:56 (twenty-two years ago)

I am very calm too. Some of Emma's presents (tis her birthday in 15 days) arrived and I have planned another one to buy her today that will get a larf when she gets it.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Wednesday, 2 July 2003 08:58 (twenty-two years ago)

nick i am very disappointed. please can you rage again?

gareth (gareth), Wednesday, 2 July 2003 09:07 (twenty-two years ago)

Hey what happened to my fellow ragers?

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Wednesday, 2 July 2003 09:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Um... I'll try. Pick summat for me to rage at?

I'd rage at the rain, only this morning walking down the cliff and along the sea wall listening to "Belfast" by Orbital, the grey sky and calm, gentle undulating grey sea were really rather beautiful in the drizle, and I was reminded of the time I saw dolphins leaping a mile or so off the coast...

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Wednesday, 2 July 2003 09:21 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm so shitty that tickets cost $80 to Macy Gray, I thought I was the only person in the world who liked her and I was going to make a special effort to go and see her BY MYSELF and it's EIGHTY FREAKIN DOLLARS.

Nellie (nellskies), Wednesday, 2 July 2003 09:24 (twenty-two years ago)

OK, now I have something to rage about. My email server is no longer delivering any messages to me. I'm just NOT GETTING MY MAIL. I'm expecting some pretty important emails, and I'm getting nothing.

I'm convinced that everyone I know either hates me or is purposefully ignoring me. But now I don't know if they're sending me mail or not. And if I'm NOT GETTING mail that other people have sent me, then Jesus - other people are going to think that I hate them or am ignoring them, or worse, that I'm flakey and unreliable.

When my email goes down, I really do feel invisible/powerless/like a total non-entity. :-( Technology, how you are destroying me. :-(

kate (kate), Wednesday, 2 July 2003 10:16 (twenty-two years ago)

Awww kate (welcome back!), being without mail is indeed a nitemare, esp if you're waiting on important mails.

Richt Nick, Rage at the fact that it is only Wednesday!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Wednesday, 2 July 2003 10:21 (twenty-two years ago)

This goddamn idiotic humidity - my hair hasn't been dry in days! And there's mold growing on my windows! And my dog keeps getting an ear mold/fungus infection! And my last plant mildewed!

Oh - and I'm pissed about death and distance and being homesick and evil people and Glenn's boss and David's former boss and my former boss who is about to be Glenn's boss and my mother having to go home and a dead snake in the road and a dead armadillo, too.

I think that covers it. For now.

I'm Passing Open Windows (Ms Laura), Thursday, 3 July 2003 03:00 (twenty-two years ago)

aimless raging is not something i do but.

FUCK YOU I AM TIRED OF YOUR SMUG FUCKING ATTITUDE YOU CUNT. WHATEVER I FUCKING DID TO YOU GET SOME BALLS AND CONFRONT ME ABOUT IT INSTEAD OF ACTING LIKE A DICK BECAUSE I'M SICK AND TIRED OF ANSWERING QUESTIONS ABOUT WHY YOU FUCKING HATE ME YOU STUPID SMUG LIFELESS SUCCUBUS.

now i feel better.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 3 July 2003 03:51 (twenty-two years ago)

More rage then you can shake a stick at.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Thursday, 3 July 2003 07:58 (twenty-two years ago)

Erm, nothing to rage about today, either. No yelling at the television last night, except to howl "Bloody Fishbourne? Verulamium was a FAR more important Roman site!!!" during Britain's Ten Best Ancient Monuments (now there is a thread. I was happy coz I picked 5 of the top 10). And my server dumped about 5 old mails into my inbox late by entact this morning.

kate (kate), Thursday, 3 July 2003 08:05 (twenty-two years ago)

Ally I'm guessing you're addressing me here if you're going to the trouble of taking your rage to the boards. No, you didn't "do" anything to me; I just don't like you, OK? You're really stuck up and seem to have MAJOR class/money issues. And I really enjoy ILX on the whole but this NEED you have to make every thread be about you and your pat-me-on-the-head infantile precociousness and your "slutty girl-friday" image (yes, we get it, you're attractive) practically makes my eyes bleed sometimes.

Jody Beth Rosen (Jody Beth Rosen), Thursday, 3 July 2003 08:26 (twenty-two years ago)

Phew. Erm, whoa. Would anyone fancy a cup of tea?

kate (kate), Thursday, 3 July 2003 08:29 (twenty-two years ago)

Sure, I'll take one.

Jody Beth Rosen (Jody Beth Rosen), Thursday, 3 July 2003 08:31 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm going for a Guinness at lunctime with messrs Hedley and Rowlandson so I'll pass on the tea, thanks.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Thursday, 3 July 2003 08:32 (twenty-two years ago)

And, um, seeing as I started this thread can I ask that you please don't rage at each other, if only for the sake of ILX.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Thursday, 3 July 2003 08:33 (twenty-two years ago)

In situations of emotional stress, apply hot caffeinated beverages. This is one of the few things that the English are very sensible about. :-)

kate (kate), Thursday, 3 July 2003 08:34 (twenty-two years ago)

GAH!!! I've just found out that as of next week I'm going to lose my lovely look-at-ILX-all-day-friendly desk and be moved to a new place where everyone will be able to see EXACTLY what I'm doing especially our new MD who will therefore spend all day staring at me with her evil dead fish-eyes and tutting disapprovingly whenever I don't appear to be breaking my back in effort.

I'm not giving up this desk. I am not. And if they want it, they're going to have to prize it out of my cold dead fingers.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 3 July 2003 08:35 (twenty-two years ago)

Also, having said what I just said, I'll leave Ally alone now.

Jody Beth Rosen (Jody Beth Rosen), Thursday, 3 July 2003 08:41 (twenty-two years ago)

These is the post where I abandon rage and accept an apathetic resignation. I was raging over the fact that my one-notch-up-the-totem-pole co-worker has been careful to only pass over the shitty jobs he doesn't want to do, and the fact that all the staff seem to think he walks on water and will work themselves into a frenzy before considering that I could help them, or assume that when i wander over and ask for work that when they come over to deliver it, they should give it to ME and not one-notch-up guy, but you know what? Fuck it. I'm not going to beg them to let me write for them. I'll sit here and write essays on Irish-American relations and Canadian nationalism instead and get paid for it.

Catty (Catty), Thursday, 3 July 2003 09:01 (twenty-two years ago)

This is where I RAAAAAGE that Catty is writing essays on Irish-American relations instead of writing to MEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

kate (kate), Thursday, 3 July 2003 09:03 (twenty-two years ago)

paul kariya signs with the avalanche for 1.2 million? takes a 9 million dollar pay cut to play for tony granato? and then brings his pal teemu along, ugh. next they'll sign martin brodeur. i demand an investigation.

keith (keithmcl), Thursday, 3 July 2003 23:21 (twenty-two years ago)

chill people

James Blount (James Blount), Thursday, 3 July 2003 23:42 (twenty-two years ago)

Rage (sometimes pronounce it French) is one of the most high profile gay clubs in West Hollywood - that's why I always giggled whenever frat guys at Berkeley would say, "dude, we raged last night", I was like, "really?"

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Friday, 4 July 2003 00:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Thank you, Jody.

Ally (mlescaut), Friday, 4 July 2003 08:09 (twenty-two years ago)

ally, jody: please, think of the children

James Blount (James Blount), Friday, 4 July 2003 08:12 (twenty-two years ago)

They have kids?

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Friday, 4 July 2003 08:49 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm pretty annoyed I'm supposed to get a job for the three weeks between semesters/student allowance, but HEY it's only three weeks, I can get money pretty easily, and it's a bit whiny to complain about a fault in the free money system.

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Friday, 4 July 2003 08:52 (twenty-two years ago)

i have no mouth and i must scream.
that's all

Orbit (Orbit), Friday, 4 July 2003 21:17 (twenty-two years ago)

Are you hello kitty?

Nicole (Nicole), Friday, 4 July 2003 22:48 (twenty-two years ago)

YES!

Orbit (Orbit), Saturday, 5 July 2003 01:46 (twenty-two years ago)

ARGGGHH!! I'm annoyed at a ton of dumb little college-aged girls who have crushes on my boy and won't leave him alone.

I know I was them once but little do they know WHAT A FUCKIN' BITCH I AM!

I've been in a very manic mood lately and for me (bipolar mixed episodes with rapid cycling) manic equals crazy rageful violent nasty moods! I've tried warning them nicely. If these dumb little Denton TX girls keep stepping in OPP it's gonna be all over.

ARRRGGGHHH!!

That Girl (thatgirl), Saturday, 5 July 2003 10:14 (twenty-two years ago)

everything's a little rotten, but i don't feel like raging about it

jel -- (jel), Saturday, 5 July 2003 11:17 (twenty-two years ago)

jel would you like a small hug?

anthony easton (anthony), Saturday, 5 July 2003 16:02 (twenty-two years ago)

thanks anthony.

Sorry, this is my second woe is me post this week, got some bad things going on with illness in my family. And, I shall leave it at that.

jel -- (jel), Saturday, 5 July 2003 16:10 (twenty-two years ago)

enough of the references to partners as "my boy". it's one step above "my bitch". use their names for fuckssake. yes i'm looking at you!!!!

Chris Radford (Chris Radford), Saturday, 5 July 2003 16:45 (twenty-two years ago)

Sorry Chris, it doesn't bother me or the folx i hang out with. I also don't mind being called 'my girl.'

For future reference I will never call you by such appelations.

Jel, hugs.

That Girl (thatgirl), Saturday, 5 July 2003 19:20 (twenty-two years ago)

I think it sounds kinda sweet. Reminds me of Phil Spector-ish song or som'n.

oops (Oops), Saturday, 5 July 2003 19:23 (twenty-two years ago)

Chris, I refer to my boyfriend James as 'my boy' but this is not meant in a derogatory way, as 'my bitch' could be meant. It's only like a shortened way of saying 'my BOYfriend'. It's a term of affection nothing more.

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 7 July 2003 08:27 (twenty-two years ago)

AARRGGGGHHHHH!!! This morning, HSA complained that he needed the loo while I was getting ready for work, so I dressed quickly and temporarily vacated the bathroom to oblige him, telling him "please be quick, I still need to brush my teeth." Ten minutes later, I hear the sound of the shower emmanating from the bath and he has not emerged.

JESUS!!! I MEAN, I HAVE TO GET TO WORK BY A CERTAIN TIME, IF I DON'T CLEAN MY TEETH AND GET OUT OF THE HOUSE, I WILL BE LATE FOR WORK. IT DOESN'T MATTER ONE JOT TO THE GUILD OF HANDSOME SOUNDARTISTS WHAT TIME JOE GETS UP AND GETS ON THE COMPUTER, WHY OH WHY MUST HE TAKE HIS SHOWER WHEN I NEED THE BATHROOM AND MAKE ME LATE?!?!?! Grrrr! In the future, his ablutions can just WAIT until I am finished getting ready for work.

kate (kate), Monday, 7 July 2003 08:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Solution: fast forward to relationship stage where you go to the toilet in each other's presence. Voila, simultaneous bathroom use = time saved = on time = domestic harmony.

Archel (Archel), Monday, 7 July 2003 08:43 (twenty-two years ago)

Absolutely not. He told me to come in and brush my teeth in the bathroom while he showered, or go to the kitchen if his naked and wet body bothered me, but JESUS CHRIST, NO, THIS IS A PART OF MARRIED LIFE THAT I *REFUSE* TO EMMULATE!!! A woman's toilet is her castle! I understand togetherness, but if you can't brush your teeth/shower/defecate in peace, there is no justice in the world. Some things are sacred to be done in privacy, and showering and shitting are two of those things!

kate (kate), Monday, 7 July 2003 08:45 (twenty-two years ago)

heh, the number of times ive had to clean my teeth in the kitchen. shared house inevitability i guess

gareth (gareth), Monday, 7 July 2003 08:57 (twenty-two years ago)

In a shared house where everyone works in offices with strict starting times, it is an inevitability. It's a different case if one person works at home, and one person works in an office. In that case, it's just common or garden consideration to let the first person finish getting ready before taking a shower.

ESPECIALLY when you say you're just nipping in to use the loo, and then proceed to take a long shower. Grrrrrr.

kate (kate), Monday, 7 July 2003 09:00 (twenty-two years ago)

i actually have a toothbrush and toothpaste at work also now!

gareth (gareth), Monday, 7 July 2003 09:05 (twenty-two years ago)

I will use the bathroom when James is in the shower & vice versa, it's not a problem at all. Having said that, there are certain things in the bathroom that we don't do in each other's presence! um, yes, eurgh!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 7 July 2003 09:07 (twenty-two years ago)

how long have you two lived together kate? i would have thought a pre requesite, as archel intimates, is the ability to bog comfortably in your partner's presence, alternatively, being able to brush your teeth whilst your partner bogs. this meands you've abluted(?) and your on time!

i rage when THE FREAKIN" TOILET IS FLUSHED WHILST I'M IN THE SHOWER AND THE WATER PRESSURE DIPS WHILST IT SCALDS!!!!!

Chris Radford (Chris Radford), Monday, 7 July 2003 09:08 (twenty-two years ago)

The issue really isn't our ability to shower or not in each other's presence. The issue is WHEN YOU SAY YOU NEED TO USE THE LOO, AND I CUT SHORT MY MORNING RITUAL AND I *TELL* YOU THAT I STILL NEED TO BRUSH MY TEETH, DO NOT PROCEED TO GO ON AND USE THE SHOWER!!!

There's a difference between asking for the bathroom for something urgent - which requires interruption - and then STEALING the bathroom when it was loaned to you in good faith for something else!

That's what annoys me, not brushing my teeth while he's taking a shower. Taking a shit is urgent, taking a shower is not. And he could have waited.

kate (kate), Monday, 7 July 2003 09:11 (twenty-two years ago)

def agreed! hijacking of the bathroom is not acceptable! U should've steamed straight in there & turned the taps on, as this usually affects the water in the shower!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 7 July 2003 09:14 (twenty-two years ago)

My sis and I used to turn on the taps *and* flush the loo whenever our stepmonster was in the shower, heh heh.

suzy (suzy), Monday, 7 July 2003 09:15 (twenty-two years ago)

perhaps he had an urgent showering need. you get those you know!

Chris Radford (Chris Radford), Monday, 7 July 2003 09:17 (twenty-two years ago)

alternatively "hijack" the shower by spitting the toothpaste over his feet, saying "well I am late!!"

Chris Radford (Chris Radford), Monday, 7 July 2003 09:21 (twenty-two years ago)

My sis and I used to turn on the taps *and* flush the loo whenever our stepmonster was in the shower, heh heh.

This made me laugh loads!! Well done Suzy for your inspired 'Stepmonster' bashin! :-)

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 7 July 2003 09:27 (twenty-two years ago)

HSA is a DDB. He never has an urgent need to shower. I've found entire flocks of small birds nesting in his beard before.

(I think, however, he uses extremely hot showers to straighten out his back, which he was complaining about earlier. But still. He could have boiled the kettle and had a hot water bottle instead of hijacking the bathroom.)

kate (kate), Monday, 7 July 2003 09:30 (twenty-two years ago)

DDB=?

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 7 July 2003 09:37 (twenty-two years ago)

Dirrrrrrty dronerock boy.

suzy (suzy), Monday, 7 July 2003 09:37 (twenty-two years ago)

U know, as soon as i posted this I thought, damnit I know what she meant!! Thanx

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 7 July 2003 09:46 (twenty-two years ago)

DDB needs to go in the FAQ, I think.

You're right Kate, he was sneaky and naughty there. However, I think you should get used to, for instance, brushing your teeth in his presence - that is far from taking a crap while he watches!

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Monday, 7 July 2003 16:23 (twenty-two years ago)

i have a hangover, i'm bored w/ my job and fed-up with having to tred carefully to protect other people's vastly inflated and ridiculously fragile egos when they seem to think it's ok to treat me like shit...

Dave Stelfox (Dave Stelfox), Friday, 25 July 2003 11:35 (twenty-two years ago)

FUCK YOU TROUBLEMAN RECORDS!! First you send our order SURFACE, despite us paying for air. You didn't send us the right badges. You sent the order 20 fucking days after you received payment. And best of all every record is hopelessly warped, thanks to yr caring shipment. I hope you all get hit by buses as you stumble along in a cool haze of heroin.

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Thursday, 7 August 2003 02:25 (twenty-two years ago)

five months pass...
You know when it's going to be one of those days....firstly i get cut up on the roundabout by some dumn f@#k who then proceeds to drive straight over a zebra crossing whilst somebody is crossing. Then I get spectacularly cut up by a huge fuxing lorry, who came from the other side of the road to do this. Then I get to work find out that i have to cover reception (not phones i might add, i refuse) but jumping up every 5 mins to let someone in or sign for a parcel. I wouldn't mind, but she didn't even bother telling me, stoopid cow. Then I have someone else who came into my office & was arsey from their first word, because i made a decision the other that this person is not happy with. Deal with it fuxor!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 6 February 2004 09:49 (twenty-two years ago)

i am a little bit peevish.

Orbit (Orbit), Friday, 6 February 2004 11:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Orbit (Orbit), Friday, 6 February 2004 11:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Tell all orbit! Let us rage together!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 6 February 2004 11:34 (twenty-two years ago)

haha! well my rage is small; it mostly has to do with the back windshield of my 22 year-old car being broken and said car needing tires, and seeing all these newer cars on the road. it's a old rage, and it comes back every time my car isn't doing well and i see a bmw 323is. you see i put a large down payment and several payments on one, and i no longer have it, it is a long story and i am being paid back in small installments but i will never be able to have a lump sum to make a down payment on another car because it is nickel and dimed out to me. this prob sounds spoiled but it was the only decent thing i had ever bought and i worked really hard to get it. bottom line is when my car is burning oil and skidding all over from bald tires and i see one of these that i used to drive on the road i just get peeeeevvvveeeddddd. it's peeved, that's all. just a small peeve. i saw many of these today, hence the peevishness.

Silly Sailor (Andrew Thames), Friday, 6 February 2004 11:58 (twenty-two years ago)

well, i've been in a low-grade rage since wednesday afternoon when this stranger walked up to me and started kicking me on the street! she kept ignoring my 'excuse me, what the HELL are you doing?'s until i finally shoved her and said 'BITCH! WHAT THE FUCK IS YOUR PROBLEM?' and she yelled 'don't interrupt me when i'm on the phone to america!' and i said 'i don't give a FUCK who you're on the phone with, i'm gonna kick your ass!!!!!'

and she ran away, which was probably for the best because i really really wanted to hurt her.

and my job was crappy yesterday, and the flat i wanted is gone and i can't find anything else within my price range anywhere i want to live and got a load of work emails from people i hate and the computer guys deleted all sorts of software including my palm desktop stuff which can't be dfownloaded because it's so old.

grrrrrr.
