When Was The Last Time You Threw Up?

The last proper puke I had was about 2 months ago after an attempted drowning of my sorrows and frustrations in 2 pitchers of beer drank by myself between the hours of 10 and 1. Hoo-boy that was a doozy.

Btw, I have to ask this, because I don't think this ever happened to me before that time, but do you ever get some that goes up your nose? It totally freaked me out - not to mention the whole box of kleenex used afterwards to calm me down that no puke was still in my nose.

Last time I, um, "blew chunks" was during finals period, May 2002. I not only had the pressures of trying to do very well so I could graduate with a nice GPA but I also had to deal with being ill with flu. I had been study snacking -- a bag of Cheetos, a [Diet] Mountain Dew -- and trying to concentrate on my notes when I felt the need to rush to the bathroom and throw up. I felt so nasty and miserable then. Ugh, it was horrible. In December of last year, guess who insisted on a flu shot? Yup, yours truly.

new year's 1999 i went to what was billed (jokingly) as a "puke off the front porch" party. i had a really disgusting glass of vodka and was indeed the first and only person to puke off the porch that evening--i puked right onto some bicycles tied up in the front lawn, and did it right as this girl i was fancying was walking up the house.

Nick it is urgent & key that you start a thread where you post some of these excellent claims. Get to it man

Other than that, I only throw up about every three to five years.

Apart from that, the only other more normal puke ive had in recent times was coming down off an e a while back - I took some painkillers, and my stomach said to me calmly "sorry, you dont want those" and I hurled it all back up. Wasnt even feeling ill, it just didnt stay down.

I have only hurled up drunk once or twice as a silly teen who didnt know that half a bottle of southern and 2 glasses of sweet wine DO NOT MIX. Especially not with popcorn.

Popcorn puke is not a pretty sight. Evil little black bits...

I am hideously allergic to fish. Now, normally, prawn crackers contain NO ACTUAL PRAWN AT ALL, and I can eat them quite happily. These ones must have had some kind of fish flavouring cause I was throwing my guts up for days afterwards. Not fun at all!

I threw up on the same morning. I also blame the disco fries (and several shots of tequila, and that "French 75").

now i know. not fun. but people get sick from drink a lot, right? it made me decide to not drink much again. does it have the same impact on other people?

Thankfully I am not sick often, probably because I don't party as hard as I used to any more and don't really drink all that much these days. I remember one very drunken night some years back though, where I suddenly felt nauseous in the taxi home, and not wanting to make any sort of mess I thoughtfully threw up into my handbag.

Sit down - throw up in the rubbish bin (or the bathtub).

I have a very poor gag reflex as a result and can make myself throw up on will. I find it extremely soothing and can spout endless psychomumbojumbo about why this might be. It is sometimes annoying and gives me a bad throat and BILE.

I will generally actively try not to vom after BOOZE (I generally want to vom after being full anyway so if I'm full from booze the feeling is mostly the same) because it tastes so bloody damn horrible.

I generally go with: BETTER OUT THAN IN.

The last tine I threw up was in a bar (in the men's room! i am not a man!) more than a year ago. I thought I was possibly drunk and did not eat enough, but it turns out I had food poisoning. I took a cab home and barfed behind the dumpster of my building. And then I barfed for the next 2 days.

haha! my last time was in august, on the same night i dropped my phone in the toilet and broke it, which cut off my ability to send sad drunk text-messages to my summer fling (i was leaving the country the next day and he had a family obligation). then i vowed not to have more than 3 drinks ever! have lapsed twice but not quite to that point of patheticness.

most recent regurgitative episode: earlier this year, caused by 2-day stomach virus of unknown origin. (thought it was food poisoning at first, but then other people in the household got it.)

yeah, totally. the five seconds before you throw up are the worst. And dry heaving.

Last time for me was winter vomiting bug earlier this year, probably March or February. Lost a stone in three days, which was about all I could recommend about the experience.

There's a learned skill to determine whether you're going to be able to fight the upset stomach, or if you just need to purge the evil. If you're feeling queasy for a long lead-up, then man up and purge it. Then go back to eating something completely different.

Last time vomiting was after having a sour stomach at a friend's place. I think the coffee earlier in the day, the beer, the brats, and the smores (ugh) were not friends. Felt much better afterwards.

Oh man yeah, "one of these things is not like the others" in that menu. I doubt that's sit well with me either.

About 10 years ago, I guess? Very mild food poisoning from seafood soup and spring rolls at a Vietnamese restaurant in Berkeley.

i don't know how universal this is, but in my college drinking days, i found that if i got hiccups it meant i wasn't going to vomit. (but it would mean i was going to have hiccups for an hour or so, which wasn't all that great either.) not sure of the physiological connection -- like, are hiccups a less violent way of calming nausea? but it was invariably true.

would not want to throw up shrimp.

last time for me was three years ago at the beach in nc -- margaritas followed by beer followed by jack daniels as the sun was rising. so messed up that i don't really even remember the horror that followed, which is nice.

If you're feeling queasy for a long lead-up, then man up and purge it.

^^^ Years of drinking taught me this brinkmanship skill re: queasiness. "Can I ride this out or do I need to go to the toilets?" Also worth remembering is that you'll feel a hell of a lot better after bringing it up.

i almost never throw up - i've got a very strong immune system and don't drink heavily. i've thrown up twice in the past 15 years - once was from booze, i think mainly because i mixed wine (which i don't usually drink) with beer, and the other time was a really bad stomach bug i got a couple of years ago

Combo of lots of booze, an empty stomach and some odd drugs about a month ago. That was the first time in a year or more.

I've gotten to an age when I know if I'll feel better if I just get rid of it, so I'll drink some bicarbonate of soda mixed in a glass water and do it, and it is a bit less painful and nasty.

Early this morning, friend's birthday house party. This friend is long sober, but likes to see others drink. Beer + Honey bourbon + mysterious mint shots I kept getting handed + a bottle blond w/a Marilyn Monroe complex + strong weed = one very soiled upstairs carpet that I was still gentlemen enough to clean up afterwards and a small gift in his yard, not to mention a couple mild messes on the long way home w/my designated driver.

Friday night. Was sitting watching telly, suddenly felt nauseous, ran upstairs to bathroom, threw up, came back downstairs, felt fine. Weird.

Since I gave up drinking, migraines have been the main cause of throwing up. Bad food and stomach upsets just give me diarrhoea now.

Last year, once from food poisoning. The worst part of the food poisoning was not the waking at 5 am to vomit, but the subsequent 24 hours of feeling like I had been hit by a bus. And the annoying thing was, I knew exactly the culprit: a plate of nachos that something had just seemed sort of gross about, but I couldn't figure out why. Don't know if it was the lettuce or the refried beans or what, but I've never ordered nachos at that place again.

i think in 07 after drinking way more tanqueray and tonic than I could handle. was one of the last times I drank gin, which up until then was my go-to.

lol first time I ever drank gin my immediate feeling was "yeah, this isn't something to drink a lot of in one session"

gin hangovers were the worst. that same experience, I also had dry heaves the next afternoon.

worst thing I ever drank was a Satan's revenge, which was a shot of combo Goldschlager/Bacardi/Cuervo and I think the fourth was Jack? can never remember. did 1.5 of those after a full night of drinking, went into friend's bedroom, passed out on his bed, then promptly puked all over it.

had a glass of cider @ a BOC show @ slim's (san francisco club), it tasted a bit off, but i drank most of it. ended up outside a half hour later and lost the cider. asked a bartender the next day that i knew that worked there and he said: "oh, you're not supposed to drink the cider from the back bar, it's not refrigerated"
nice storage there, shitheads.
haven't wanted cider since.

A week last Saturday, fuckin' horrible experience but couldn't help thinking of that Alan Partridge episode, "Lynn...I've stood on a spike..."

Partied way too hard last Saturday (the 15th, not the 22nd) and I the next day I did my usual and hung out w my Sunday crew-we go to this place called "Happy Donuts". On the 16th tho I felt so awful all day, I drank a ton of water & by the time we got to Happy Donuts for breakfast it was 5pm. Halfway thru mine I stepped outside and there was the most convenient place ever to vomit so i did. It was projectile, which is always nice, and as soon as i stopped i felt 500% better.

Almost last night. After a night of tequila shots, beer, and excessive food eating, awoke in the wee hours of the morning gagging on bile.

Fortunately Tums cured me for the night

Food poisoning about three weeks ago. But I can't remember when I'd last threw up without getting drunk first -- possibly 20 years before that.

My son has had what we believe is food poisoning for the past few days. Two nights ago he woke me up at three a.m. by explosively vomiting all over my bed.

The last several times I've thrown up have usually been at overwhelming odors - rotten potatoes was a memorable one.

ive vomited around four times in my entire nineteen years on earth. i wouldnt like to chuck up any more ever. its the worst.

i had some kind of bug last weekend, spent about four hours in bed on friday night squirming uncomfortably in a horrible half awake half asleep state before finally making it downstairs, violently throwing up a vast volume of mystery brown stuff (i'd hardly eaten anything all day) inc some painful nasal passage action, then heading back upstairs to fall asleep almost immediately.

About six months ago, in the garage beneath a Target.

I love the Jackass movies, but sometimes when one of the guys is vomiting onscreen, I feel my own gorge rising (in sympathy?).

You know, I've never thrown up or even gotten nauseated because of getting nervous or seeing, smelling, etc. something disgusting. I only throw up when I'm actually physically ill. I don't know why this is and I'm a little disturbed by it--am I really that numb to the outside world?

(The answer to the OQ is: The morning before yesterday, while hungover after a night of demolishing three old fashioned glasses full of CB Honey Liqueur on the rocks.)

It was either scotch or gin, July 2011, at some motel in Oklahoma. Before that, it had been over a decade.

i basically never vomit. not as an adult, anyway. once abt 5 years ago due to massive e-coli-type food poisoning. a horrid thing to endure. before that, it's gotta go back at least 15 years, booze-related catastrophes.

So I just had to explain to the trainee clerk at Whataburger that they need someone in the men's room asap to clean up the mess I made in their sink. Started coughing intensely while washing my hands and surmised correctly that I couldn't make it back to the stall in time. Believe this is the result of going too long under-hydrated these last few days along with a side of sinus drainage.
