Come on. Anyone? Calum?

David. (Cozen), Saturday, 9 August 2003 20:06 (twenty-two years ago)

credit where credit is due. I gave him the calum 'idea'.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Saturday, 9 August 2003 20:09 (twenty-two years ago)

±Calum.

David. (Cozen), Saturday, 9 August 2003 20:09 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm in!

Ally (mlescaut), Saturday, 9 August 2003 20:10 (twenty-two years ago)

show me your plans for the time machine, cozen.

RJG (RJG), Saturday, 9 August 2003 20:11 (twenty-two years ago)

±Time machine.

David. (Cozen), Saturday, 9 August 2003 20:12 (twenty-two years ago)

i just want to hear all of those incomprehensible glasgow accents

Tad (llamasfur), Saturday, 9 August 2003 20:19 (twenty-two years ago)

you just think you do.

RJG (RJG), Saturday, 9 August 2003 20:22 (twenty-two years ago)

Well, this was brilliant. Thanks to everyone who came along. It was nice to finally meet N. and Ailsa who are so much younger in person. I can't believe there were so many dogs in the pub - I mean, wtf?! Hopefully we can do it again sometime.

Total.

David. (Cozen), Sunday, 10 August 2003 20:01 (twenty-two years ago)

I had a terrible time.

Ally C (Ally C), Sunday, 10 August 2003 21:20 (twenty-two years ago)

And I wasn't even there.

Ally C (Ally C), Sunday, 10 August 2003 21:21 (twenty-two years ago)

What does FAP mean?

Calz (Calz), Sunday, 10 August 2003 21:51 (twenty-two years ago)

calum, you MUST attend the next one.

sorry I couldn't make this one and I apoloise in advance, too.

RJG (RJG), Sunday, 10 August 2003 21:52 (twenty-two years ago)

whoa,

I was stopped from posting by:

What does FAP mean?

-- Calz (ca...)

but now it isn't here!!

RJG (RJG), Sunday, 10 August 2003 21:53 (twenty-two years ago)

whoever was responsible for the deleted post: explain, plz

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Sunday, 10 August 2003 22:31 (twenty-two years ago)

FAP=Fancy a Pint. as in, where this kind of thing happens, like people going out to drink beer and take drugs and shit. that one was in new york, this is a suggestion for one in glasgow, where the glasgow people sometimes meet up and stuff.

gareth (gareth), Sunday, 10 August 2003 22:41 (twenty-two years ago)

here and here are where some previous ones have occurred

gareth (gareth), Sunday, 10 August 2003 22:44 (twenty-two years ago)

I am drunk, but, someone was trying to TRICK me?

RJG (RJG), Sunday, 10 August 2003 22:51 (twenty-two years ago)

where the glasgow people sometimes meet up

Ha ha. Has this ever actually happened under the guise of FAP action?

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 11 August 2003 21:22 (twenty-two years ago)

Not if I had anything to do with it.

Ally C (Ally C), Monday, 11 August 2003 22:26 (twenty-two years ago)

LET'S HAVE A FAP.

RJG (RJG), Monday, 11 August 2003 23:07 (twenty-two years ago)

Glasgow would have a FAM.

Larcole (Nicole), Monday, 11 August 2003 23:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Fancy a meatball?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 11 August 2003 23:10 (twenty-two years ago)

Fancy A McKewans Extra?

stevem (blueski), Tuesday, 12 August 2003 00:40 (twenty-two years ago)

FAME!

stevem (blueski), Tuesday, 12 August 2003 00:40 (twenty-two years ago)

This should happen.

David. (Cozen), Tuesday, 12 August 2003 10:49 (twenty-two years ago)

THIS HAS TO HAPPEN! NO EXCUSES!!!!

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Tuesday, 12 August 2003 10:58 (twenty-two years ago)

Fancy A Morley

Larcole (Nicole), Tuesday, 12 August 2003 11:07 (twenty-two years ago)

I gave up trying to organize a Glasgow FAP ages ago, Glaswegian ILXers all hate fun.

smee (smee), Tuesday, 12 August 2003 14:17 (twenty-two years ago)

Someone nicked my name...

Calz (Calz), Tuesday, 12 August 2003 17:47 (twenty-two years ago)

RJB - I'd love to attend the next one, and will - but only with suitable back up... if you want a ruck then I'm there!

Calz (Calz), Tuesday, 12 August 2003 17:48 (twenty-two years ago)

Perhaps if they all gave themselves Van Halen names this would change.

Larcole (Nicole), Tuesday, 12 August 2003 18:03 (twenty-two years ago)

This should happen.

David. (Cozen), Tuesday, 12 August 2003 18:07 (twenty-two years ago)

Make it so, Diamond Dave.

Larcole (Nicole), Tuesday, 12 August 2003 18:34 (twenty-two years ago)

wednesday, august the thirteenth, eight P.M., uisge beatha, woodlands road.

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 12 August 2003 18:38 (twenty-two years ago)

I can't make it - I'm going to a pub quiz.

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 12 August 2003 18:52 (twenty-two years ago)

I hope you win.

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 12 August 2003 18:55 (twenty-two years ago)

Do you want to go for a drink, RJG, at that above anointed time?

David. (Cozen), Tuesday, 12 August 2003 19:40 (twenty-two years ago)

In fact, no you don't. But I move back to Glasgow next week (Aug 19th?) maybe we can have one then (Aug 20th?) with N. in tow too?

David. (Cozen), Tuesday, 12 August 2003 19:58 (twenty-two years ago)

The pub quiz is at the Uisge Beatha.

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 12 August 2003 20:01 (twenty-two years ago)

I hope you win.

David. (Cozen), Tuesday, 12 August 2003 20:05 (twenty-two years ago)

me too.

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 12 August 2003 21:50 (twenty-two years ago)

When I start my new job in glasgow I might be able to attend faps were there to be such things.

alext (alext), Wednesday, 13 August 2003 11:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Hey! When you coming to Glasgow alex??

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 13 August 2003 11:59 (twenty-two years ago)

you're not very convincing, nick.

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 13 August 2003 12:37 (twenty-two years ago)

I would like to meet Alext lots because then he can tell me how he feels about Hugh McDiarmid.

David. (Cozen), Wednesday, 13 August 2003 15:11 (twenty-two years ago)

Fuck you RJG. I am not going to any 'FAP' you are going to.

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 13 August 2003 18:19 (twenty-two years ago)

This could happen.

David. (Cozen), Wednesday, 13 August 2003 19:31 (twenty-two years ago)

I now think nick was being genuine.

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 13 August 2003 22:28 (twenty-two years ago)

RJG & I are down for tonight. Nick?

David. (Cozen), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 17:06 (twenty-two years ago)

where you going?

ailsa (ailsa), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 17:09 (twenty-two years ago)

(not that you were inviting me, but never mind)

ailsa (ailsa), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 17:11 (twenty-two years ago)

Ailsa you are more than invited! (We don't know.)

David. (Cozen), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 17:20 (twenty-two years ago)

I may be going to pub quiz in Paisley with husband and friends, but could divert if persuaded. If it involves the possibility of winning beer / money through knowledge, then so much the better.

ailsa (ailsa), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 17:26 (twenty-two years ago)

It won't happen, N. the fap-wrecker is absent.

David. (Cozen), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 17:27 (twenty-two years ago)

Fair enough.

Is there anyone in Glasgow on ILX who doesn't know any of the other Glasgow people that would make this (when it happens) more of an FAP?

ailsa (ailsa), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 17:30 (twenty-two years ago)

me!!

calum (RJG), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 17:39 (twenty-two years ago)

I'll come to a Glasgow FAP.

if it ever happens.

maybe.

jed_e_3 (jed_e_3), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 17:41 (twenty-two years ago)

glasgow is a small place.

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 17:43 (twenty-two years ago)

And we all know each other. Except I don't know Cozen, but Glasgow is like two degrees of separation so I probably do.

ailsa (ailsa), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 17:47 (twenty-two years ago)

I've met him.

thus spake dastoor: I am ill and cannot come out. I am illdisposed to come out. I am indisposed. I am ill. I am eating my chicken biryani. I am disposing of my chicken biryani because I am ill. I am not coming out.

or something.

cozen said tomorrow, a while ago, so let us make it tomorrow.

uisge beatha. eight o'clock. which actually means eight o'clock. and I won't be late.

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 17:57 (twenty-two years ago)

I won't be there at all, apparently I have a prior engagement tomorrow :(

ailsa (ailsa), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 18:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Me, N., RJG &c. - tomorrow which is Wednesday which should be fine oh shit I might be going to see Fighting Red Adair support The Locust at Tuts! But I'll keep you posted.

David. (Cozen), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 18:07 (twenty-two years ago)

There's so little of us, co-ordinating an FAP is like landing a golf ball on a stamp.

David. (Cozen), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 18:08 (twenty-two years ago)

cook has a non-theory about that and should be there tomorrow, too.

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 18:19 (twenty-two years ago)

B-but I can't make it. But then again, I don't live in Glasgow. However, I did win beer vouchers in our local pub quiz last week which have to be used by tomorrow, so we have to go to the pub and spend them. And free beer is infinitely preferable to a night in the pub with RJG, Ally C and N. (probably).

ailsa (ailsa), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 18:28 (twenty-two years ago)

It was not a Chicken Biryani. I don't eat chicken.

Tonite let's all make love in the Uisge Beatha.

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 10:11 (twenty-two years ago)

But Fighting Red Adair! I'm torn.

David. (Cozen), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 10:12 (twenty-two years ago)

(What kinda nonsensicalist doesn't eat chicken?)

David. (Cozen), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 10:12 (twenty-two years ago)

there's a place called uisce beatha?

Ronan (Ronan), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 10:14 (twenty-two years ago)

There'd better be.

David. (Cozen), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 10:15 (twenty-two years ago)

Ronan - its galeic for "water of life" ( i think) tis also the root of the word "whisky" (its pronounced ooshgay-ba)

jed_e_3 (jed_e_3), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 10:37 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm fluent in Irish, that's why I asked! hehe, it's pronounced "ishka baha" actually!

Ronan (Ronan), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 10:39 (twenty-two years ago)

here's a place called uisce beatha?

-- Ronan (ronan.fitzgerald...), August 20th, 2003 11:14 AM. (later)

I'm fluent in Irish, that's why I asked! hehe, it's pronounced "ishka baha" actually!

-- Ronan (ronan.fitzgerald...), August 20th, 2003 11:39 AM. (later)

Slaps head in 'of course' stylee gesture.

Gaelic is weird...

Dave B (daveb), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 10:48 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm fluent in Irish, that's why I asked! hehe, it's pronounced "ishka baha" actually!

This is the way I pronounce it, and people laugh at me. I guess it's a Gaelic/Irish difference (it's spelled differently too, yeah?)

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 11:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Not that I'm Irish, but I'd like to be.

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 11:04 (twenty-two years ago)

ugh.

jed_e_3 (jed_e_3), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 11:10 (twenty-two years ago)

(What kinda nonsensicalist doesn't eat chicken?)

N. only consumes elm tree leaves and blades of grass.

Larcole (Nicole), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 11:12 (twenty-two years ago)

i don't eat chicken either (or turkey, duck, pigeon, etc). it makes me very sick.

angela (angela), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 11:17 (twenty-two years ago)

I wouldn't really like to be Irish.

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 11:20 (twenty-two years ago)

eeshki vahhh!

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 11:22 (twenty-two years ago)

Thank god Nick!

and, yes - i agree with RJG pronounciation-wise.

jed_e_3 (jed_e_3), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 11:27 (twenty-two years ago)

eskimo hair!

David. (Cozen), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 11:43 (twenty-two years ago)

spelt the same, and its definitely ishka, even in northern irish accent

Ronan (Ronan), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 11:58 (twenty-two years ago)

It's a bloody good pub anyway, wish I could come.

Vicky (Vicky), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 12:04 (twenty-two years ago)

after the 4th one it's shishkebaba

Ronan (Ronan), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 12:10 (twenty-two years ago)

mmmmn, Deuchar's IPA.... The most amazing selection of single malts I've ever seen in a pub... and stuffed animal heads on the wall....

Vicky (Vicky), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 12:12 (twenty-two years ago)

The girl across from me right now, OMG, I'm in love. I should go talk to her but.

David. (Cozen), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 12:20 (twenty-two years ago)

catwoman pronounces it "uska dara":

http://www.super-highway.net/users/altoot/kitt5.jpg

mark s (mark s), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 12:25 (twenty-two years ago)

David, are you already in the Uisge Beatha?

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 12:29 (twenty-two years ago)

I have my ticket for the Locust in my hand so unfortunately it's just a regular old jaunt with RJG for you N., sorry. (I'm in the library and working myself up.)

David. (Cozen), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 12:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Intransitive 'working oneself up' = 'wanking'?

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 12:34 (twenty-two years ago)

It doesn't feel too good.

David. (Cozen), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 12:35 (twenty-two years ago)

It'll feel worse, believe me.

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 12:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Are you hinting at rejection?

David. (Cozen), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 12:38 (twenty-two years ago)

I work just up the road from the Uisge Beatha so I could attend any FAP happening in that neck of the woods...scary thought...I've never met any other Glaswegian ILXers (to my knowledge)

smee (smee), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 12:41 (twenty-two years ago)

David, I think we are talking at cross purposes.

Smee, why don't you suggest a date?

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 12:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Coz I tried before and met only ridicule and derision - I am fickle and give up easily.

smee (smee), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 12:48 (twenty-two years ago)

anyway.

m. carlin in town from tomorrow STOP

maybe arrange something for time he is STOP

howie not to be trusted STOP

keeps making promises, not keeping and I wish he would STOP

c u l8r STOP

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 12:57 (twenty-two years ago)

Sorry. And you're right.

David. (Cozen), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 12:57 (twenty-two years ago)

Although I never made any promises but I see what you're saying.

David. (Cozen), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 12:58 (twenty-two years ago)

you won't drop in to say 'hi' before the show, even?

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 14:27 (twenty-two years ago)

Well, I'm going to a friend's on Woodlands Drive at quarter to 8, that's around Ishka Baha, right? Will you be in at that time?

David. (Cozen), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 14:34 (twenty-two years ago)

8.

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 14:41 (twenty-two years ago)

I think I shall show up and hide in a corner observing from afar, in a creepy stalker type way.......

smee (smee), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 14:48 (twenty-two years ago)

OK, well I might pop in and say 'hello' at around ten-past 8. Doors are 8 at Tuts but I guess we might be late. If I don't say hello, then it means I've been hurried to Tuts.

David. (Cozen), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 14:57 (twenty-two years ago)

Apologies as the lure of nearer and free-er beer means Paisley wins. But next time, see you there :)

ailsa (ailsa), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 16:06 (twenty-two years ago)

Did that count?

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 21 August 2003 10:54 (twenty-two years ago)

I had a gin and tonic.

: /

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 21 August 2003 11:23 (twenty-two years ago)

FAGAT?

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 21 August 2003 11:29 (twenty-two years ago)

how dare you.

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 21 August 2003 11:31 (twenty-two years ago)

I guess so. Sorry I wasn't so talkative, it's kinda hard when you're thrown in with a group who already has a settled dynamic &c. It was good though, enjoyed it.

David. (Cozen), Thursday, 21 August 2003 11:32 (twenty-two years ago)

http://homepage1.nifty.com/chapel-t/Athico/cont/dad_br/7/kenstott.jpg ?

David. (Cozen), Thursday, 21 August 2003 11:33 (twenty-two years ago)

how dare you.

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 21 August 2003 11:34 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah, it was fun even if, after cozen left, we won no prizes in the quiz but, I suppose, I did end up w/ a copy of the TMNT OST. yay.

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 21 August 2003 11:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Update (sorry for slow response, being out of work with no internet at home means greatly reduced ilx-ing): my job starts in October, so I will be commuting through to Glasgow three or four days a week (ie as infrequently as possible! no offence to glasgow) -- but this will make me fap-able I suppose!

alext (alext), Thursday, 21 August 2003 11:58 (twenty-two years ago)

Meeting Cozen was a treat and I'm sorry we were so rarara-y. I was aware of it.

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 21 August 2003 12:23 (twenty-two years ago)

Nah, nah, it's understandable. I mean, you weren't that rarara-y anyway, you're just friends you know. You know.

I am the worst drinker on ilx though. I had 4/5 pints last night and I felt terrible this morning - wtf?

(Is Uisge Beatha a good first date pub?)

David. (Cozen), Thursday, 21 August 2003 12:28 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes. Did you ask out that girl in the library??

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 21 August 2003 12:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes.

David. (Cozen), Thursday, 21 August 2003 12:34 (twenty-two years ago)

You dog.

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 21 August 2003 12:34 (twenty-two years ago)

Good luck, David!

Larcole (Nicole), Thursday, 21 August 2003 12:35 (twenty-two years ago)

I am now out of your league.

David. (Cozen), Thursday, 21 August 2003 12:35 (twenty-two years ago)

not rarara-y.

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 21 August 2003 12:37 (twenty-two years ago)

It took a while but its nice to see that the fap finally happened.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Thursday, 21 August 2003 12:39 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, and I missed it...

smee (smee), Thursday, 21 August 2003 12:48 (twenty-two years ago)

...and you've only got yourself to blame for that.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Thursday, 21 August 2003 13:07 (twenty-two years ago)

I know!

smee (smee), Thursday, 21 August 2003 13:29 (twenty-two years ago)

For what it's worth, we won our pub quiz, so it was worth my while not going. I do get the feeling what Cozen and N. said though, I imagine any Glasgow FAP could be a bit rarara-y, so next time other folk have to get involved. I mean, if Cozen hadn't been there last night it would have just been me, N. and RJG going out for a pint (if I'd have gone), and that to me wouldn't constitute FAPping in the true sense (or at least how I imagine it).

ailsa (ailsa), Thursday, 21 August 2003 15:51 (twenty-two years ago)

I'd go to a Glasgow FAP, if I knew about it and it was a suitable time, somewhere I knew how to find, etc.

caitlin (caitlin), Thursday, 21 August 2003 15:54 (twenty-two years ago)

I see that Ally C gets written out of the picture in your Stalinist version of history, Ailsa.

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 21 August 2003 16:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Marcello FAP?

David. (Cozen), Thursday, 21 August 2003 16:14 (twenty-two years ago)

*busily erases all references to Ally C in various interweb archives*

Winston Smith (caitlin), Thursday, 21 August 2003 16:26 (twenty-two years ago)

I've heard of Ally C.

David. (Cozen), Thursday, 21 August 2003 16:35 (twenty-two years ago)

But I didn't know Ally was there, because I wasn't there and no-one mentioned that he was there and it's all imaginary and factoring him into my imaginary non-FAP doesn't make it any more FAP-like as I've known him for ages too and I have no idea what I'm talking about anymore and...

*head explodes*

ailsa (ailsa), Thursday, 21 August 2003 20:59 (twenty-two years ago)

Are Glaswegian FAGAT's allowed at the FAP?

jed_e_3 (jed_e_3), Thursday, 21 August 2003 21:35 (twenty-two years ago)

If they bring me a copy of Alvin Lucier's "I am sitting in a room" then they are more than welcome. In fact, only people who do this are welcome.

David. (Cozen), Thursday, 21 August 2003 21:37 (twenty-two years ago)

This is the dumbest thread I've ever seen.

Rararabbits.

Ally C (Ally C), Thursday, 21 August 2003 21:52 (twenty-two years ago)

Also. I wish I hadn't been wiped from history.

THis kind of thing is always happening to me.

Sob.

Ally C (Ally C), Thursday, 21 August 2003 21:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Can do you a copy of the Lucier no probs, David :-)

jed_e_3 (jed_e_3), Thursday, 21 August 2003 22:02 (twenty-two years ago)

you are indeed a very close reader!

jed_e_3 (jed_e_3), Thursday, 21 August 2003 22:04 (twenty-two years ago)

Who is coming to see The Gossip on Thursday?

David. (Cozen), Tuesday, 26 August 2003 10:06 (twenty-two years ago)

Tell me about the Gossip.

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 26 August 2003 11:23 (twenty-two years ago)

They are fronted by a lesbian ("and proud of it YEAH!") singer and they rock apparently and are on Kill Rock Stars. I think I remember Tom saying that The Gossip are amazing live which was unexpected. At a London gig some female journo slanted Beth (the singer) about her size at which point she removed her clothes and demanded anyone to 'eat her pussy' if they didn't think she had a nice body, the last time they played Glasgow Beth managed to strip down to her underwear. I have never heard them but I'm going on Tom's recommendation. The music doesn't really sound 'my thing', but as I said, Tom's recommendation.

David. (Cozen), Tuesday, 26 August 2003 11:26 (twenty-two years ago)

at which point she removed her clothes and demanded anyone to 'eat her pussy' if they didn't think she had a nice body

Is this you or her not making sense?

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 26 August 2003 11:28 (twenty-two years ago)

It could be her.

David. (Cozen), Tuesday, 26 August 2003 11:29 (twenty-two years ago)

I went to see them in milwaukee. but I didn't see them.

who is coming to see dean friedman on the third of october?

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 26 August 2003 11:29 (twenty-two years ago)

You and Cook.

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 26 August 2003 11:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Do any of you lot want tickets to see the Rolling Stones at the SECC on Monday? We bought four and seem to be failing dismally at getting rid of the other two. If anyone knows anyone who wants them (they're the *cheapest* standing tickets - bargain at only £39.50 - gulp - each), then send them my way.

ailsa (ailsa), Tuesday, 26 August 2003 18:01 (twenty-two years ago)

i may have a buyer for them ailsa - i'll let you know asap (tonight anyway)

jed_e_3 (jed_e_3), Tuesday, 26 August 2003 19:08 (twenty-two years ago)

no go ailsa - sorry. Hope you get rid of them!

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 28 August 2003 10:35 (twenty-two years ago)

Hey Glasgow

I am going to be in town, I think, next Tuesday nite. FAP?

(Jack and Cookie - any chance of sofaspace for one nite?)

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Thursday, 28 August 2003 10:45 (twenty-two years ago)

Let's FAP IT UP.

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 28 August 2003 10:50 (twenty-two years ago)

let's.

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 28 August 2003 11:29 (twenty-two years ago)

Let's.

David. (Cozen), Thursday, 28 August 2003 15:51 (twenty-two years ago)

Is this the beginning of a musical number?

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Thursday, 28 August 2003 15:54 (twenty-two years ago)

I had it more as posh hiphop.

Mark C (Mark C), Thursday, 28 August 2003 16:00 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm still Davey from the yacht.

David. (Cozen), Thursday, 28 August 2003 17:22 (twenty-two years ago)

But who is the Ben (and who is the Xander)?

Larcole (Nicole), Thursday, 28 August 2003 17:23 (twenty-two years ago)

hey, cozen, we're going to a pub next to the old JEDEYE bar/bar JEDEYE [now the halcyon] in about forty minutes for a quiz.

huh??

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 28 August 2003 17:23 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah - i'm skipping the hott gossip tonight

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 28 August 2003 17:24 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm going to see the Gossip tonight, sorry RJG, (+ I am on AIM you could have just messaged me?).

David. (Cozen), Thursday, 28 August 2003 17:31 (twenty-two years ago)

I can't see you on AIM, cozen.

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 28 August 2003 17:35 (twenty-two years ago)

Mark C FAP? I'm at the Celtic tomorrow so probably won't get back to the flat till 5.45pm, check internet then, we could make it about 7.30pm - 8pm or even, I suppose, no FAP?

Cozen (Cozen), Friday, 29 August 2003 20:46 (twenty-two years ago)

We're going to a partay.

Ally C (Ally C), Saturday, 30 August 2003 00:53 (twenty-two years ago)

zappy?

RJG (RJG), Saturday, 30 August 2003 01:05 (twenty-two years ago)

No.

Ally C (Ally C), Saturday, 30 August 2003 01:17 (twenty-two years ago)

Y-E-S.

RJG (RJG), Saturday, 30 August 2003 01:25 (twenty-two years ago)

No, no.

Ally C (Ally C), Saturday, 30 August 2003 01:39 (twenty-two years ago)

you don't know the meaning of a word.

RJG (RJG), Saturday, 30 August 2003 01:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Zappy?

Cozen (Cozen), Saturday, 30 August 2003 10:03 (twenty-two years ago)

Where and at what time is Tuesday's FAP?

Jerry the Fapper.

Cozen (Cozen), Saturday, 30 August 2003 16:29 (twenty-two years ago)

Why aren't you partying or on AIM?

Cozen (Cozen), Saturday, 30 August 2003 21:28 (twenty-two years ago)

Cause I felt ill earlier. I don't AIM anymore.

N. (nickdastoor), Saturday, 30 August 2003 21:30 (twenty-two years ago)

You are wise.

Cozen (Cozen), Saturday, 30 August 2003 21:31 (twenty-two years ago)

I told you: sensibility.

RJG (RJG), Sunday, 31 August 2003 02:11 (twenty-two years ago)

Aye, he's sensible.

Cozen (Cozen), Sunday, 31 August 2003 14:42 (twenty-two years ago)

Still: we require time and placement details.

Ally C (Ally C), Sunday, 31 August 2003 19:17 (twenty-two years ago)

i didnt want to start a whole new thread for this but some of you Glasgow ILXers may be interested in Mixing it tonight - a report on new music from Edinburgh and Glasgow - radio3, about 11ish i think. If you miss or have already missed it you can listen to it on archive. heres the link with the info.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio3/playlists/2003julsep/mixingit0335.shtml

jed_e_3 (jed_e_3), Sunday, 31 August 2003 20:03 (twenty-two years ago)

jed_e_3 - you should come to a FAP. Or at least let me buy you a pint.

Cozen (Cozen), Sunday, 31 August 2003 21:33 (twenty-two years ago)

+ time and placement obviously U & K & Ally C OTM.

Cozen (Cozen), Sunday, 31 August 2003 21:41 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah sure i'm up for it - what about we all go to that "winchester" thing at the woodside - meet somewhere else beforehand?

jed_e_3 (jed_e_3), Sunday, 31 August 2003 23:07 (twenty-two years ago)

the winchester club is not great for chat and worse, I would imagine, for a first-meet/get-to-know situation.

some of us are involved in the winchester club, too, so are busy beforehand w/ setting up and everything.

jerry the nipper is coming when? tuesday?

OK, so. tuesday the second at seven thirty/eight PM at... ...somewhere poncey? we can discuss this during the day, tomorrow. and agree. dastoor and cook and cozen and jerry can have their says, too. and you, jed_e_3, if you like. and ailsa? and lucy? and me?

RJG (RJG), Sunday, 31 August 2003 23:12 (twenty-two years ago)

OK.

jed_e_3 - I will bring you a copy of the Colleen album if you like.

RJG - can you bring me a copy of the Foxgloves EP if you like?

Cozen (Cozen), Monday, 1 September 2003 11:01 (twenty-two years ago)

You could do him an A.D.E. also, Gillanders.

Where would be poncey enough? Perhaps the Uisge Beatha would be a suitable location once again.

Ally C (Ally C), Monday, 1 September 2003 12:14 (twenty-two years ago)

Unfortunately I am going to have to bail from this. My boss fell down a flight of stairs and I have to say in London to deputise.

:(

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Monday, 1 September 2003 12:37 (twenty-two years ago)

this is terrible news.

the uisge beatha is not at all poncey in my eyes.

RJG (RJG), Monday, 1 September 2003 13:44 (twenty-two years ago)

AWFUL.

The Uisge Beatha is fairly poncey. Look at all those single malts!

Ally C (Ally C), Monday, 1 September 2003 14:00 (twenty-two years ago)

look at that quizmaster!

expense is not the complete route to ponce.

RJG (RJG), Monday, 1 September 2003 14:03 (twenty-two years ago)

Having single malts is not poncey. I know far too many poncey pubs/bars that have a crap selection of malts. In fact, the rougher the pub the more likely they are to have less common malts to chose from

Vicky (Vicky), Monday, 1 September 2003 14:10 (twenty-two years ago)

AWFUL :(

Uisge Beatha could be poncey. I'm not sure it is.

Is this still on?

Cozen (Cozen), Monday, 1 September 2003 14:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh come on - there are all those private rooms for men in kilts. I'm talking traditional ponciness, not this new-fangled yuppie ponce.

If this happens it is likely to just be me, Cozen, Dastoor and RJG once again. Anyone else? David, if you still wish it to be on, I expect it will be on.

Ally C (Ally C), Monday, 1 September 2003 16:23 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't mind feeling like a prince.

Cozen (Cozen), Monday, 1 September 2003 17:03 (twenty-two years ago)

Me me me! Can I come? Does it involve a pub quiz? Can I be a shandy-drinking girlie and bring the car and not imbibe alcohol as I am poverty-stricken once more?

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 1 September 2003 21:57 (twenty-two years ago)

Can't we be free of the pub quiz tyranny for one evening? (anyway there is no quiz tomorrow)

N. (nickdastoor), Monday, 1 September 2003 21:58 (twenty-two years ago)

yes, no quiz.

http://www.cinestrenos.com/proyectos/temas/schmidt/2.jpg

RJG (RJG), Monday, 1 September 2003 21:59 (twenty-two years ago)

B-but I like pub quizzes! I get to know stuff and look clever and it means I can talk about stuff without actually having to think of a conversational topic...(I only asked because RJG mentioned the Uisge quizmaster upthread, I can actually cope in a pub without a quiz)

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 1 September 2003 22:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Quiet. No quiz.

ARE WE FAPPING?

Ally C (Ally C), Monday, 1 September 2003 22:06 (twenty-two years ago)

ALLY C DISCOVERS RAVE!!!

N. (nickdastoor), Monday, 1 September 2003 22:07 (twenty-two years ago)

bonkers.

I am a personal friend of ricky ross.

RJG (RJG), Monday, 1 September 2003 22:12 (twenty-two years ago)

I have a present for N.

Cozen (Cozen), Tuesday, 2 September 2003 10:02 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm scared of your present. Are you a spanked up madman?

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 2 September 2003 10:03 (twenty-two years ago)

You will like my present. It doesn't involve crabs or nails.

Cozen (Cozen), Tuesday, 2 September 2003 10:14 (twenty-two years ago)

(It's a mp3 CD of the gabba / AMP 1 archive).

Cozen (Cozen), Tuesday, 2 September 2003 10:14 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't know what that is so yay!

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 2 September 2003 10:19 (twenty-two years ago)

It's a really good present! Kinda.

Cozen (Cozen), Tuesday, 2 September 2003 10:21 (twenty-two years ago)

*throws crab/nail 'happy birthday N' collage away'

Ronan (Ronan), Tuesday, 2 September 2003 10:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Uisge Beatha at A Time?

Cozen (Cozen), Tuesday, 2 September 2003 11:15 (twenty-two years ago)

I finish work at 8. Be there for 8.30-9 I guess. Who's coming?

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 2 September 2003 14:02 (twenty-two years ago)

me and cook.

I might go and see 'playtime', before, at 6:20.

should be there for half past eight, yes.

but...uisge beatha? I have decided I don't really like that place['s clientele].

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 2 September 2003 14:06 (twenty-two years ago)

Stop rocking the boat and embrace your inner twat.

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 2 September 2003 14:42 (twenty-two years ago)

the devil will drag you under by the earphones of your 15Gb ipod.

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 2 September 2003 14:53 (twenty-two years ago)

carnarvon?

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 2 September 2003 15:43 (twenty-two years ago)

I am going out for a quick pint just now.

will tell cook to monitor this.

I am saying carnarvon at eight thirty, just now.

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 2 September 2003 15:55 (twenty-two years ago)

No, we're not changing plans at this late stage. Someone might turn up to the wrong place otherwise. Uisge Beatha or nothing. The Carnarvon is bloody awful anyway.

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 2 September 2003 15:57 (twenty-two years ago)

No it isn't. But we're not changing.

Ally C (Ally C), Tuesday, 2 September 2003 15:58 (twenty-two years ago)

I love how pig-headed nick can be.

who would turn up at the wrong place? me? oh, maybe cook. you, nick? cozen? is ailsa still coming? oh, well.

the carnarvon is not bloody awful.

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 2 September 2003 16:09 (twenty-two years ago)

OK, it has its good points but I really feel like being somewhere not so rundown tonight.

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 2 September 2003 16:10 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't know that I will make it, as it's quite a long way for me to go and get home from again on a schoolnight < /wussiness>

ailsa (ailsa), Tuesday, 2 September 2003 16:28 (twenty-two years ago)

Looks like Uisge Beatha 8.30-9 then.

Cozen (Cozen), Tuesday, 2 September 2003 17:16 (twenty-two years ago)

Yup.

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 2 September 2003 17:19 (twenty-two years ago)

I like the Carnarvon, the people there are very friendly. Plus they once gave me a splendid pair of gold trimmed Irish Coffee glasses.

Mooro (Mooro), Tuesday, 2 September 2003 18:29 (twenty-two years ago)

I forget how this went.

Cozen (Cozen), Thursday, 4 September 2003 23:06 (twenty-two years ago)

you are a liar.

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 4 September 2003 23:07 (twenty-two years ago)

I remember how you go.

Cozen (Cozen), Thursday, 4 September 2003 23:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Warned.

Cozen (Cozen), Thursday, 4 September 2003 23:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Anyone going to watch the Scotland v Faroes game tomorrow? I am supposed to be meeting folks in the Aragon in Byres Road (folks being Calumn for those who know him)...anyone up for that?

ailsa (ailsa), Friday, 5 September 2003 19:54 (twenty-two years ago)

I might have some money. I could come for one pint, Ailsa. If others are coming.

Cozen (Cozen), Friday, 5 September 2003 20:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Where can I watch the England game?

N. (nickdastoor), Saturday, 6 September 2003 01:31 (twenty-two years ago)

up your arse.

you have no options, now.

RJG (RJG), Saturday, 6 September 2003 01:45 (twenty-two years ago)

I had a dream in two parts. First part I was walking around with you, N., and some guy who looked like PJ from Big Brother. You fancied me and kept on trying to hold my hand. The second part you hated me and became hysterical with laughter when I fell down my stairs.

I think my subconscious was wrong.

Cozen (Cozen), Saturday, 6 September 2003 15:59 (twenty-two years ago)

Now you remember how it went.

N. (nickdastoor), Saturday, 6 September 2003 18:31 (twenty-two years ago)

this is how it goes:

http://www.geocities.com/r_gillanders/winchester.txt

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 11 September 2003 15:40 (twenty-two years ago)

David. (Cozen), Thursday, 11 September 2003 16:15 (twenty-two years ago)

OK.

David. (Cozen), Thursday, 11 September 2003 16:29 (twenty-two years ago)

I think I offended Hex guy.

David. (Cozen), Friday, 12 September 2003 20:50 (twenty-two years ago)

Happy birthday David!

Nicolars (Nicole), Friday, 12 September 2003 20:52 (twenty-two years ago)

I feel kinda bad. Hex guy, if you google this, it's spelled 'Xinlisupreme', OK?

David. (Cozen), Friday, 12 September 2003 20:53 (twenty-two years ago)

hex guy probably seemed happy. I don't know why.

RJG (RJG), Saturday, 13 September 2003 20:04 (twenty-two years ago)

How come the Winchester was on a Thursday?? Friday must have been Nazi-sty.

Lara (Lara), Sunday, 14 September 2003 12:26 (twenty-two years ago)

two weeks pass...
Some time.

David. (Cozen), Tuesday, 30 September 2003 10:05 (twenty-two years ago)

Is there ever gonna be like a proper Glasgow FAP, with new people at it?!

smee (smee), Tuesday, 30 September 2003 13:22 (twenty-two years ago)

Say the word. (I do not know what the word is).

Ally C (Ally C), Tuesday, 30 September 2003 16:17 (twenty-two years ago)

N.B. I hope it is 'Grease'.

Ally C (Ally C), Tuesday, 30 September 2003 16:24 (twenty-two years ago)

how is that pronounced?

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 30 September 2003 16:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Greeze.

David. (Cozen), Tuesday, 30 September 2003 20:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Is that with kilts and the leather jacket?

Nichole Graham (Nichole Graham), Tuesday, 30 September 2003 20:54 (twenty-two years ago)
