So, I'll be in the Big Apple with the gf... anyone up for a low-key FAP type event? Maybe to help celebrate Nabisco moving? Maybe we could do something around evening-time in case peeps have NIGHTTIME plans? Just thinking out loud here people....

Aaron W (Aaron W), Monday, 18 August 2003 16:52 (twenty-two years ago)

Is that Labor Day weekend? That's a good weekend to do it.

Ally (mlescaut), Monday, 18 August 2003 16:55 (twenty-two years ago)

I might actually be up there around that time, like the 28th.

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Monday, 18 August 2003 16:56 (twenty-two years ago)

I'll be having an invariably bad time at a weddding that weekend (and riddle me this, Batman....what sort've fucker throws a wedding on Labour Day weekend? An inconsiderate fucker, that's who.)

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Monday, 18 August 2003 17:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes I believe it is Labor Day weekend!

That blows Alex. The worst are weddings that take up an entire weekend. Funk dat!

Aaron W (Aaron W), Monday, 18 August 2003 17:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Alex, clearly you must blow off the wedding and come hang with us. Also, it's the same type of fucker who was dead set on having their wedding on Easter weekend (eventually we managed to talk them out of this).

OK well I'll show up whatever night is decided as best for everyone as long as it is NOT the 28th.

Ally (mlescaut), Monday, 18 August 2003 17:04 (twenty-two years ago)

Duly noted. So let's shoot for Friday or Saturday evening.

Aaron W (Aaron W), Monday, 18 August 2003 17:06 (twenty-two years ago)

Alex, clearly you must blow off the wedding and come hang with us.

No can do, sadly, as the inconsiderate fucker in question is a member of my extended family, which makes for a significantly more difficult wedding to blow off. I'd rather blow UP the wedding, actually.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Monday, 18 August 2003 17:21 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm down for whatever might go down. Email me about other plans for the week, Aaron.

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Monday, 18 August 2003 17:21 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm either gonna have to be back in State College by Friday or saturday. So dependin' on which I may not be able to catch this thing. That said, I'm most likely going to be in town for part of the week (I'm probably coming on in the 25thish) so if people aren't all workscheduletacular I'd like to say yo, FAPwise if possible.

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Monday, 18 August 2003 17:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, god forbid Aaron hangs out with anyone besides you, Yanc3y. WHY DON'T YOU JUST MARRY HIM ALREADY???? OMG WTF!!!111

Alex, you never hang out with us anyway, we expected.

Ally (mlescaut), Monday, 18 August 2003 17:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Jealousy is unbecoming on you, Ally.

(Aaron: Will you???)

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Monday, 18 August 2003 17:45 (twenty-two years ago)

I never thought you'd ask!!!! I DO!!! (where's the ring, bitch!)

Aaron W (Aaron W), Monday, 18 August 2003 17:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Alex, you never hang out with us anyway, we expected.

That's so not true! I went to the Siberia FAP!!!!

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Monday, 18 August 2003 17:49 (twenty-two years ago)

OK Alex, you're right, you came out ONE TIME A YEAR AGO. My mistake. SINCE then, when you met us and decided you hated us, you refuse to come out.

Midweek FAPs are no go for me. Ant, do you have my phone #?

Ally (mlescaut), Monday, 18 August 2003 17:51 (twenty-two years ago)

That's so completely mean and untrue.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Monday, 18 August 2003 18:04 (twenty-two years ago)

I know it's mean! You're a totally mean man! We all feel hated and neglected :(

Ally (mlescaut), Monday, 18 August 2003 18:05 (twenty-two years ago)

i can't make it to this fap :( but there should be another one in september!!

(and alex, ally is right: that siberia fap was forever ago! every time you don't show up to a fap a fire somewhere is dishonored!

geeta (geeta), Monday, 18 August 2003 18:11 (twenty-two years ago)

Don't we have to have a going away party for Tracer soon?

Ally (mlescaut), Monday, 18 August 2003 18:25 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes! This could be the "changing of the guard" FAP, where nabsico gets his and I get mine. And you all get yours. The only problem with these dates is that it's Labor Day weekend and people tend to be away (i.e. geeta)

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Monday, 18 August 2003 18:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes but we also might have visitors from out of town on holiday weekends!! "Might" meaning "definitely" in this case cos Aaron doesn't live here yet. But we have to have property partyage for you, when are you leaving again?

Ally (mlescaut), Monday, 18 August 2003 18:36 (twenty-two years ago)

28th is best for me, 29th is the Magas show and I think I'm going to Philly on the 30th...

hstencil, Monday, 18 August 2003 18:40 (twenty-two years ago)

haha Ally types "property" reflexively: GET OUT OF THAT JOB WHILE YOU STILL HAVE NOMINAL CONTROL OF YOUR SENTENCES

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Monday, 18 August 2003 19:04 (twenty-two years ago)

OMG I didn't even notice that. Holy shit. We can have a property partyage as well, let's just FAP in my office.

Ally (mlescaut), Monday, 18 August 2003 19:17 (twenty-two years ago)

i'll see if D'Ag does bulk A-1 sauce deliveries

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Monday, 18 August 2003 19:38 (twenty-two years ago)

ahem, uh, hm what? Yes, anyway, let's meet at a place with a patio.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Monday, 18 August 2003 19:42 (twenty-two years ago)

Millar (Millar), Monday, 18 August 2003 19:52 (twenty-two years ago)

*funnily enough I discovered recently that just about the ONLY way to make the train more economical than driving is to park for over three days in Manhattan.

Millar (Millar), Monday, 18 August 2003 19:55 (twenty-two years ago)

Tracer, I'm going to beat you senseless at this FAP for that one.

Ally (mlescaut), Monday, 18 August 2003 19:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Aaron, we will be in NYC arriving on the 30th. It's my wife's birthday weekend though and I can't guarantee she'll want to meet any of you terrifying people.

anthony kyle monday (akmonday), Monday, 18 August 2003 20:02 (twenty-two years ago)

The bus is a lot cheaper than the train, Tom.

Ally (mlescaut), Monday, 18 August 2003 20:04 (twenty-two years ago)

But it's the bus.

rosemary (rosemary), Monday, 18 August 2003 20:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Well yes. I'd like to take the Chinatown bus though. It seems exciting, like a movie. Breakneck speeds! Hong Kong music! Screechy drivers! You need to actually ask them to stop in Baltimore otherwise they don't!

Ally (mlescaut), Monday, 18 August 2003 20:20 (twenty-two years ago)

I played trombone for 9 years and went to every single football game and competition and state festival and yada yada yada during that entire fucking period, I've done my damn time on buses, I never want to ride one again. Ever.

Millar (Millar), Monday, 18 August 2003 20:24 (twenty-two years ago)

Is there a patio at your office, Ally?

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Monday, 18 August 2003 20:30 (twenty-two years ago)

There's a stoop off to the side, it's kind of porch-like.

Ally (mlescaut), Monday, 18 August 2003 20:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Well yes. I'd like to take the Chinatown bus though. It seems exciting, like a movie. Breakneck speeds! Hong Kong music! Screechy drivers!

I took the Chinatown bus from Boston to NYC and back in October and it was pleasant. Zoned out with a book and iPod and instantly fell asleep. Best of all, the bus waiting areas are usually restaurants.

Chris Barrus (Chris Barrus), Monday, 18 August 2003 20:50 (twenty-two years ago)

Well, that just put me off the Chinatown bus. I am not going for pleasant for that experience, Chris!

Haha, trombone.

Ally (mlescaut), Monday, 18 August 2003 20:51 (twenty-two years ago)

"Changing of the guard" = I get all Tracer's stuff?

nabisco (nabisco), Monday, 18 August 2003 21:57 (twenty-two years ago)

WRONG, I DO.

Ally (mlescaut), Monday, 18 August 2003 21:59 (twenty-two years ago)

I think we should have an entire FAP consisting of watching someone steal the that huge fucking cock lobster in front of the Times Sq. Red Lobster.

Carey (Carey), Monday, 18 August 2003 22:01 (twenty-two years ago)

And that someone should be me.

Ally (mlescaut), Monday, 18 August 2003 22:03 (twenty-two years ago)

That's what you think, Fujiko

Lupin III (Millar), Monday, 18 August 2003 22:04 (twenty-two years ago)

Try and stop me! I could go right now, I'm totally buzzed off my ass.

Fujiko (mlescaut), Monday, 18 August 2003 22:06 (twenty-two years ago)

Why would I want to STOP you?

Lupin III (Millar), Monday, 18 August 2003 22:11 (twenty-two years ago)

You just implied you would. I'm confused. SURPRISE.

Fujiko (mlescaut), Monday, 18 August 2003 22:14 (twenty-two years ago)

SURPRISE! I can't go to this FAP, either!

Tad (llamasfur), Monday, 18 August 2003 23:44 (twenty-two years ago)

You and Alex should make a club.

Ally (mlescaut), Monday, 18 August 2003 23:45 (twenty-two years ago)

it's not my fault that these FAPs don't coincide with my schedule!

Tad (llamasfur), Monday, 18 August 2003 23:48 (twenty-two years ago)

all the same, i'm sure that Aaron and his girlfriend will have a blast in NYC with the usual suspects.

Tad (llamasfur), Monday, 18 August 2003 23:49 (twenty-two years ago)

haha Raj & I been to more FAPs than Tad & Alex

Millar (Millar), Monday, 18 August 2003 23:54 (twenty-two years ago)

we might bump into each other on the northeast corridor amtrak, though! i've become way too familiar with amtrak these days.

Tad (llamasfur), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 00:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Train FAP!

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 00:02 (twenty-two years ago)

ILX roXors Philadelphia 30th Street station!

Tad (llamasfur), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 00:04 (twenty-two years ago)

can I, like, get a 40?

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 00:06 (twenty-two years ago)

ODB was busted in West Philly, you know. it's a fun neighborhood!

Tad (llamasfur), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 00:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Maybe if these festive events weren't held on fucking major holidays (when people tend to often have plans) more people could attend. Just a thought.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 13:21 (twenty-two years ago)

OK so what's your excuse for every single other time we've gotten together?

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 13:23 (twenty-two years ago)

Not knowing about them further in advance (I used to not read ILE at all, confining my perusals stirctly to ILM, where no FAPS got mentioned).

Alex in NYC..still bristling from being called a "totally mean man". (vassifer), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 13:30 (twenty-two years ago)

You're so cute when you're mad!!

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 13:50 (twenty-two years ago)

Anyway I don't want to do this but Aaron we should hang out.

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 17:21 (twenty-two years ago)

and riddle me this, Batman....what sort've fucker throws a wedding on Labour Day weekend? An inconsiderate fucker, that's who.)

Hahaha! Or an English fucker (like me) who has no concept of the importance of your "labour day", yankees. As for the future Mrs Nordicskillz- well yes, she should probably know better, I grant you that.

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 17:24 (twenty-two years ago)

It's not really "important", it's just a holiday. I don't even quite know what it implies.

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 17:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Well, you deserve more holidays, so fair enough.

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 17:32 (twenty-two years ago)

We don't really have very many, we should just have bank holidays whenever and be done with it, that would be exciting.

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 17:35 (twenty-two years ago)

yo, I may actually show up the weekend before this (I don't think I'll stay the whole week cuz Carey would probably kill me). I'm getting done moving earlier than I thought I would.

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 18:20 (twenty-two years ago)

actually, i would be more than happy to train-FAP with anyone if they are on the train w/ me when i have to be. i go to philly on wednesdays and thursdays and go back to NYC on the train that leaves 30th St. at 11 PM on those days.

Tad (llamasfur), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 18:44 (twenty-two years ago)

(that was actually kinda pathetic sounding. anyway, i wouldn't mind the company on the commute!)

Tad (llamasfur), Tuesday, 19 August 2003 18:45 (twenty-two years ago)

I drove past O'Connor's today. We should go back there in Sept./Oct. for a reunion.

Mary (Mary), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 03:46 (twenty-two years ago)

What is O'Connors?

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 12:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Mary, do you want to go to the beach that weekend?

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 12:36 (twenty-two years ago)

O'Connors in Brooklyn was the site of the rebirth of ILXNYC, the FAP just before the one you came to. Tracer Hand picked it; it was the coolest bar.

If I'm here that weekend (and I'm pretty sure I will be) I would love to go to the beach. Should we hit Long Island finally?

Mary (Mary), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 15:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh really? Yeah, I didn't go to that one, I had no idea y'all were partying it up prior, you can thank bnw's harrassment for me showing up! We should totally go to Long Island, Jones Beach? I have another beach towel now, it's a company one YUCK but it is pretty colors. I have to throw that and Batman in the wash though.

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 15:50 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm thinking either Long Beach or Montauk (lighthouse action so we can make you-know-who jealous.) My towel is still all sandy too. I want to buy a Little Twin Stars towel but I am trying to make do with my Paul Frank one.

Mary (Mary), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 16:01 (twenty-two years ago)

Montauk is so far though...how long is the train ride? Does anyone with a car want to come?

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 18:36 (twenty-two years ago)

oh nooooo, o'connors.. for some reason, i always feel super uncomfortable in there

phil-two (phil-two), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 18:38 (twenty-two years ago)

...the Cock?

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 18:48 (twenty-two years ago)

my second home?

phil-two (phil-two), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 18:51 (twenty-two years ago)

we may have a visitor from the Navy along for the ride

Also AFAIK Luke & Spinktor will be putting in appearances as well

Millar (Millar), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 19:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Do they have accomodations?

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 19:04 (twenty-two years ago)

Navy boy does I'm pretty sure. I think Luke has friends who can put him up. I'm not sure what the hell Spinktor will be doing yet. I should point this thread out to him.

Millar (Millar), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 19:06 (twenty-two years ago)

I'll try to see what I can do for them otherwise.

I feel like I'm running the USO.

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 19:09 (twenty-two years ago)

so when is this thing happening? has it been decided? i'm actually going to be up in NYC next week (the job is sending me last minute) and i've never had the pleasure of participating in an ILx FAP due to my unfortunate geographical location (orlando, FL). however, i would like to meet you nice people and i've contributed a few witty comments (mostly on ILM) so surely that must count for something. last time i was up there on work i caught fourtet/prefuse73/manitoba at the bowery ballroom, so something along those lines is fantastic. i'm leaving out on thursday and would like to do something neat since the rest of my time will be spent in the dank basement of a bank designing their network infrastructure.

jason m. (jason m), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 19:44 (twenty-two years ago)

I'd like to come.

Jay Vee (Manon_70), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 19:45 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm assuming whatever we do should be on Friday evening (the 29th) because Miccio will be in town still Friday but NOT Saturday...

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 19:52 (twenty-two years ago)

so.... friday night at The Cock? wouldn't that be a hoot

phil-two (phil-two), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 20:30 (twenty-two years ago)

We should probably pick some kind of place where we can stake a claim to a fairly large area bcz I'm getting the idea we'll have a shit-ton of people milling around.

Millar (Millar), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 20:31 (twenty-two years ago)

If it was Thursday we coulda gone to the Works and partaken in all those $1 margaritas and cosmos :( :( :(

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 20:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Me, I'm all abt the beer garden

Millar (Millar), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 20:33 (twenty-two years ago)

We should go to Scores.

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 20:34 (twenty-two years ago)

you know, i didn't really like the beer garden that much... might as well get a few 40s and sit in your own damn backyard. though the jukebox inside had Jodeci.

phil-two (phil-two), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 21:43 (twenty-two years ago)

I had more fun at the Beer Garden when we went inside. Which was tiny and small and really of no use to a FAP

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 21:44 (twenty-two years ago)

How about some bar we can drink in the the back garden so we don't lose half our party to SMOKERS?

Mary (Mary), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 21:45 (twenty-two years ago)

Haha that'd be the Beer Garden, Mary.

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 21:46 (twenty-two years ago)

DBA on 1st ave has a garden, i think, and tons of beers.

phil-two (phil-two), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 21:47 (twenty-two years ago)

and you can smoke in lit and hole, but hole on friday is gay sleaze night.... and lit gets really hot and crowded on weekends

phil-two (phil-two), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 21:48 (twenty-two years ago)

There's a couple garden-y places in BK too, Phil!

Mary (Mary), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 21:49 (twenty-two years ago)

I think the OOT DC area contingent would really appreciate an outdoor backyard since we are mostly rednecks who like to smoke with our drinks

Millar (Millar), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 22:22 (twenty-two years ago)

and yes Luke Matt and probably Navy Andy would enjoy some discounted accomodations if that's possible since they all secretly suck eggs

Millar (Millar), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 22:30 (twenty-two years ago)

I dont suck eggs, im just blowing all my funds on a new tattoo and/or bills.

Spinktor the Unmerciful (mawill5), Wednesday, 20 August 2003 22:48 (twenty-two years ago)

I want a new tattoo!

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 21 August 2003 00:13 (twenty-two years ago)

I want a tat that says I SURVIVED THE BLACKOUT OF '03.

Mary (Mary), Thursday, 21 August 2003 00:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Im getting a tribal Tweety Bird backpiece.

Spinktor the Unmerciful (mawill5), Thursday, 21 August 2003 14:31 (twenty-two years ago)

I think I want to put something on my foot.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 21 August 2003 14:32 (twenty-two years ago)

DC Tattoo convention, c'mon down!

Spinktor the Unmerciful (mawill5), Thursday, 21 August 2003 14:34 (twenty-two years ago)

Why not do it over Labor Day though? Either way, I'm in. Anyone know how to get out a tongue piercing, incidentally? I'm kind of bored of this thing but it won't unscrew.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 21 August 2003 14:35 (twenty-two years ago)

Ive got a ban-saw and some K-Y.

Spinktor the Unmerciful (mawill5), Thursday, 21 August 2003 14:37 (twenty-two years ago)

What do you mean, 'do it over labor day'? The tattoo?

Spinktor the Unmerciful (mawill5), Thursday, 21 August 2003 14:37 (twenty-two years ago)

That's not exactly the solution I was hoping for, but whatever works.

"Do it over Labor Day"=obv. I meant huge orgies. Yes, the tattoo. If you're coming up here maybe we can convince the NYC people to get them done too. I've been trying to convince at least two people on ILX to get tattoos for like a year, or something.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 21 August 2003 14:38 (twenty-two years ago)

Nah, my friend Andy is coming up from Harrisonburg...he's a guest artist at the convention this weekend. He did most of my right shoulder, and i like his coloring. Plus he rarely charges me. But thats why im not going to swim that weekend if we do in fact goto the beach like Millar mentioned.

Spinktor the Unmerciful (mawill5), Thursday, 21 August 2003 14:41 (twenty-two years ago)

You'll have to put on sunblock, the sun would be actually worse for it than the water would. Though god knows what's in the water up here. You're going to come to the beach too? You all better bring swimsuits, me and Mary went to the beach with bnw this one time and we forced him to swim fully clothed because he didn't bring a swimsuit.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 21 August 2003 14:50 (twenty-two years ago)

Talk to Tom and Luke about swimsuits. I dont know. Im just oging to keep my shirt on, cuz its going to be fresh(6 days). So you might as well just count me out on the swimming. I will just do 12oz. curls on the shore.

Spinktor the Unmerciful (mawill5), Thursday, 21 August 2003 14:57 (twenty-two years ago)

We should just do shots.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 21 August 2003 15:25 (twenty-two years ago)

I want a Blackout-survival t-shirt, except I could only wear it outside the Northeast.

I also swim fully clothed. I hate water, will never dance, etc. etc.

gabbneb (gabbneb), Thursday, 21 August 2003 15:47 (twenty-two years ago)

What is your opinion of New Order?

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 21 August 2003 15:48 (twenty-two years ago)

You asking my opinion of New Order?

Spinktor the Unmerciful (mawill5), Thursday, 21 August 2003 15:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Do you have one?

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 21 August 2003 15:54 (twenty-two years ago)

A woman in the elevator had just bought two of those blackout T-shirts, she was already feeling regret. It's extremely ugly: all black, with white writing I SURVIVED THE HISTORIC BLACKOUT OF 2003.

Mary (Mary), Thursday, 21 August 2003 15:55 (twenty-two years ago)

We should just buy white baby ts at the gap, right, and just write on them in permanent marker.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 21 August 2003 15:56 (twenty-two years ago)

And we should draw candles on them.

Mary (Mary), Thursday, 21 August 2003 15:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah! And a Con Ed man, holding a broken wire and looking tres tristesse

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 21 August 2003 15:57 (twenty-two years ago)

Im rather indiferent towards them and a lot of 80's new wave stuff. I lived in the San Fan/Bay Area for a while where it was big, so its nostalgic(sp?). I dig it, but i wont go out of my way for it. Why do you ask?

Spinktor the Unmerciful (mawill5), Thursday, 21 August 2003 15:57 (twenty-two years ago)

It was actually just a random question. I'm much more fond of Joy Division than I am of New Order and I found myself questioning why a few minutes ago. I think I just find New Order's albums inconsistent. I cannot decide if I think "Regret" or "Blue Monday" or "Age of Consent" is the best New Order song. I actually have their Substance comp at work, I had no idea?? Things I find on my desk.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 21 August 2003 16:00 (twenty-two years ago)

I want a new tattoo!

Here ya go...

Hate to say it, but I've actually been to the Cock.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Thursday, 21 August 2003 16:04 (twenty-two years ago)

New Order was more pop, thats for sure. Im definately a bigger Joy Division fan though. I find their box set on heavy-rotation in my car. Someone puked on my Substance cd, so i had to dispose of the jewel-case and liner notes...still have the cd! I dont even remember who it was.

Spinktor the Unmerciful (mawill5), Thursday, 21 August 2003 16:04 (twenty-two years ago)

Someone puked on my Substance cd

Wow. On purpose?

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Thursday, 21 August 2003 16:05 (twenty-two years ago)

If someone puked on one of my CDs, I would've kicked the shit out of them. Unless I was really drunk, then I'd probably find it funny. My exboyfriend tried to steal my Joy Division box set. That was not even remotely funny, I think it kind of sealed the deal on us definitely breaking up. You don't just "borrow" people's shit without asking.

Alex, why do you "hate" to say that? It's awesome!! Unfortunately I refuse to get that weird thing tattooed anywhere on my body.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 21 August 2003 16:06 (twenty-two years ago)

Nah, they didnt do it on purpose. It was just one of those nights...smoked too much, drank too much, downed too much Tussin'. We've all been there...hehehe. Maybe not?

Spinktor the Unmerciful (mawill5), Thursday, 21 August 2003 16:09 (twenty-two years ago)

Throw in some blow and it sounds like every work party I've ever been to.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 21 August 2003 16:10 (twenty-two years ago)

Im more into horse tranquilizers and household cleaners, myself.

Spinktor the Unmerciful (mawill5), Thursday, 21 August 2003 16:12 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, they don't really do that at the real estate board party. They had hookers though. And Giuliani.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 21 August 2003 16:12 (twenty-two years ago)

You ever listen to McCartney/Wing's "Band on the run"? Its like 5 songs crammed into one. Its like they half-assed some demos and threw them together. I was thinking about that as i was stuck in traffic during lunch.

Spinktor the Unmerciful (mawill5), Thursday, 21 August 2003 16:14 (twenty-two years ago)

No one's ever puked on any of my cd's, though a drunk roommate in college once pissed on one of my photos albums in his sleep (long, disturbing story) and my friend Sean once wrenched my cassette copy of Crispin Hellion Glover's The Big Problem Does Not Equal the Solution. The Solution = Let It Be out of his car's tape deck and onto the Long Island Expressway, where it shattered into a million tiny pieces.

I don't necessarily regret going to the Cock. It was a bit anticlimactic, to be honest. My very drunk friend Rob and I expected to see something out of fuckin' Fellini's "Satyricon", but all it ended up being was a buch of East Village boys calling each other "girlfren" and some artless disco dancing. The back room was too dimly lit to recognize what activities were taking place, so maybe that's where the action was.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Thursday, 21 August 2003 16:15 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, well us commonfolk get by the best way we know how! Worse case scenario...just hyperventalate until we pass out for a head rush. Hehehe.

Spinktor the Unmerciful (mawill5), Thursday, 21 August 2003 16:15 (twenty-two years ago)

The Cock? Eh? What you talkin bout?

Spinktor the Unmerciful (mawill5), Thursday, 21 August 2003 16:16 (twenty-two years ago)

Hmmm. Yeah, kind of. Most Wings songs make me think of half-assed demos though, I mean "Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey"? Seriously. You know what I was thinking of though, that there is a vast similarity between the songs "Paranoid Android", "Bohemian Rhapsody" and "Rosalita (Come Out Tonight)". They're all imitating each other in a "we don't know how to start or end any of these songs so let's just mash 'em up" type of way. Sometimes that kind of annoys me except I like all those songs.

I didn't like "Paranoid Android" until I heard the story about the people karaoking that song though.

Re: The Crispian Glover cassette, Alex that album got exactly what was coming to it and I say bravoe to yr friends. Most things that you think are going to be all Satyricon end up being a bit more Mel Brooks films, to be honest.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 21 August 2003 16:17 (twenty-two years ago)

The Cock is a bar.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 21 August 2003 16:17 (twenty-two years ago)

The Crispian Glover cassette, Alex that album got exactly what was coming to it and I say bravoe to yr friends

Ally, do you hate fun?

The Cock is a -- WAIT FOR IT -- gay bar.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Thursday, 21 August 2003 16:18 (twenty-two years ago)

Alex, I define fun. You know this much is true.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 21 August 2003 16:19 (twenty-two years ago)

I think the thing I find funniest about The Cock has precious little to do with the bar itself, but rather the apartment building across the street (the one with the inexplicable neon light in the third story window that reads -- in big bright letters -- ANUS! I cannot help but laugh like a hyaena every time I see that.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Thursday, 21 August 2003 16:20 (twenty-two years ago)

HAHAHAHAHA I should install that in my apartment to piss off the fancy people in the luxury building next door. Taste the embarassment, Regis!

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 21 August 2003 16:21 (twenty-two years ago)

So, whats the deal with this crazy NYC trip next weekend? I havent been up there in a while...i have a friend that goes to FIT, but i havent seen/talked to her in quite some time.

Spinktor the Unmerciful (mawill5), Thursday, 21 August 2003 16:21 (twenty-two years ago)

My front door in place of the name thing/knocker, it says "ANUS". Thats my tag. Irony.

Spinktor the Unmerciful (mawill5), Thursday, 21 August 2003 16:22 (twenty-two years ago)

We're going to embarass Regis Philbin, go to the Cock, and then puke on a Crispian Glover CD. And also I have to fight Tom and Luke and someone has to take pictures for Alex.

(should I be serious? Nah)

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 21 August 2003 16:23 (twenty-two years ago)

then puke on a Crispian Glover CD

Go easy there, sister. That disc is out of print!

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Thursday, 21 August 2003 16:23 (twenty-two years ago)

OK OK I'll be serious. I think everyone should get together on FRIDAY because this is the date when EVERYONE from not-NYC will be in NYC. It is all-encompassing. We should go somewhere fun. I have no idea where this fun is to be had though. Someone suggest a bar?

Rest of weekend apparently involves going to the beach at some point? I've also been told it involves you and Pizza Christ ringing my doorbell incessantly, Spinktor.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 21 August 2003 16:24 (twenty-two years ago)

Haha Alex, the fact that it is out of print makes it more rock 'n' roll, do you see? If you get me Crispian himself, I'll just puke on him instead. His version of "These Boots Are Made For Walking" still haunts/intrigues me.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 21 August 2003 16:25 (twenty-two years ago)

If you get me Crispian himself, I'll just puke on him instead.

He'd almost certainly enjoy that.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Thursday, 21 August 2003 16:26 (twenty-two years ago)

Dude, that's really gross.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 21 August 2003 16:26 (twenty-two years ago)

Someone puked on my Was Not Was "Born to laught at tornados" LP...that wasnt funny. Another out of print piece of music gone to shit.

Spinktor the Unmerciful (mawill5), Thursday, 21 August 2003 16:26 (twenty-two years ago)

http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B000003BG6.01.LZZZZZZZ.jpg

DON'T PUKE ON ME!

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Thursday, 21 August 2003 16:27 (twenty-two years ago)

There's an awful lot of puke in your life, Spinktor.

What was that thread about the puke party? I forget now. I remember a puke party. Alex, I won't puke on you but I can't say the same for Mr. Glover.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 21 August 2003 16:28 (twenty-two years ago)

Im only going to ring your doorbell if its necessary...or if i get that drunk. Whichever comes first. That was only a threat to Millar in hopes to get his ass back inside to watch Luke sing "Splish-splash" karaoke-stylee.

Spinktor the Unmerciful (mawill5), Thursday, 21 August 2003 16:28 (twenty-two years ago)

Puke happens, man.

Spinktor the Unmerciful (mawill5), Thursday, 21 August 2003 16:29 (twenty-two years ago)

SPLISH SPLASH?? You've got to be kidding me, right?

Anyway, I told Tom that I think you guys would get bored of pushing the doorbell eventually so feel free to do it. My only concern is you guys accidentally pushing other people's doorbells. And by "concern" you can read that is "I don't really give a fuck if that happens".

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 21 August 2003 16:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Consider it done.

Im kinda not looking forward to Nazi Germany...i mean New York's new policy on not smoking. Thats just going to blow my mind.

Spinktor the Unmerciful (mawill5), Thursday, 21 August 2003 16:32 (twenty-two years ago)

We should go to a karaoke bar.

Anyway, the non-smoking policy isn't as apocolyptic as it seems. It's just a bit annoying. Sometimes bars just flagrantly ignore the rule. And we could find an outdoor bar, really.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 21 August 2003 16:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Ok. I'll deal with it regardless. Considering "i quit" anyways.

Spinktor the Unmerciful (mawill5), Thursday, 21 August 2003 16:35 (twenty-two years ago)

Me too but it's not working out at all.

(is anyone else reading this still? Suggestions for bars for Fri night?)

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 21 August 2003 16:36 (twenty-two years ago)

The Cock is kinda funny. Especially the vacuum-pumped skinhead looking go-go dancers. The music is usually pretty good too. If you want to sit and chat, drink, dance, do lines of coke, or get anonymous blow jobs in the backroom, there's something for everyone. It's like the family-friendly version of gay sleaze.

phil-two (phil-two), Thursday, 21 August 2003 16:45 (twenty-two years ago)

Andy B knows an outdoor bar in BK (I think Williamsburg) that has enough room for everyone. I forget what it's called though.

Mary (Mary), Thursday, 21 August 2003 16:49 (twenty-two years ago)

The music at The Cock was indeed good that night, I concur.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Thursday, 21 August 2003 16:52 (twenty-two years ago)

I'd like to go to the Bear Bar but it's way too small.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 21 August 2003 16:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Anyone ever been here?

http://newyork.citysearch.com/profile/7120947/?cslink=cs_srch_spons_ll_name

Mary (Mary), Thursday, 21 August 2003 17:05 (twenty-two years ago)

No, but it sounds FANTASTIC

phil-two (phil-two), Thursday, 21 August 2003 17:07 (twenty-two years ago)

I think this is the one Andy mentioned, can anyone else vouch for it?

http://newyork.citysearch.com/profile/11351492

Mary (Mary), Thursday, 21 August 2003 17:08 (twenty-two years ago)

OK, this blogger big ups Cabin Tree Lodge and Red Lobster on the same page. Our fate is settled. What time shall we meet?

http://colorfulrainynights.blogspot.com/

Mary (Mary), Thursday, 21 August 2003 17:15 (twenty-two years ago)

I used to live in the auto-body shop at 177 Grand... the kitchen window looked out onto what is now the patio. Thank fuck I don't live there any more. The man who ran the auto-body shop, Louis, was one of the sweetest men I've ever met.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Thursday, 21 August 2003 17:15 (twenty-two years ago)

I think Yabby was the place we went to instead of the Vice Party on the 4th.

rosemary (rosemary), Thursday, 21 August 2003 17:25 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh, Yabbey is nice too. and I can walk there from my house.... so.....

phil-two (phil-two), Thursday, 21 August 2003 17:26 (twenty-two years ago)

Cabin Tree Lodge sounds good. We should meet 9 or 10, like always.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 21 August 2003 17:27 (twenty-two years ago)

So how do our out-of-town guests and in-town regulars feel about Cabin Club at Pinetree Lodge at 326 E 35th St between 1st and 2nd avenues? Subway: 6 to 33rd St. If it's no good Millar can put us all in cabs to the Yabby in Williamsburg. Murry Hill Fap?

X-post, so Cabin Tree it is? Cutest FAP ev-ah! 9/10, word.

Mary (Mary), Thursday, 21 August 2003 17:29 (twenty-two years ago)

But that leaves only an hour to spend in the backyard patio!

rosemary (rosemary), Thursday, 21 August 2003 17:47 (twenty-two years ago)

Insider Tips

Be an Early Bird
The patio closes around 11pm.

rosemary (rosemary), Thursday, 21 August 2003 17:48 (twenty-two years ago)

Fine. Meet earlier.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 21 August 2003 17:51 (twenty-two years ago)

Well maybe they'll let us smoke in the clubhouse after, or there's always the front, like always. Or would people rather do Yabbey's?

X-post. OK, fine, meet earlier;)

Mary (Mary), Thursday, 21 August 2003 17:53 (twenty-two years ago)

does this foreshadow the LL Bean Style Fall '03?

gabbneb (gabbneb), Thursday, 21 August 2003 18:11 (twenty-two years ago)

Dammit, I'm moving to NYC. Anyone know a good babysitter?

luna (luna.c), Thursday, 21 August 2003 18:23 (twenty-two years ago)

I'll babysit. You can go instead of me.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 21 August 2003 18:23 (twenty-two years ago)

but...but.. you're half the reason I wanna go!!

luna (luna.c), Thursday, 21 August 2003 18:25 (twenty-two years ago)

:)

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 21 August 2003 18:25 (twenty-two years ago)

I thought the Pizza Christ watched over us all?

Spinktor the Unmerciful (mawill5), Thursday, 21 August 2003 18:26 (twenty-two years ago)

I'll come up there too with L-dawg and him and S-dawg can just stay home alone and fend off burglars with a series of wiley tricks involving hot wheels and paint cans while we're out. Then we can all go back there and wake them up at 4 am and make them be cute for us while we're loud and ripped.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Thursday, 21 August 2003 18:30 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm totally gonna be there on Friday but I have to catch a bus at 11am on Saturday. ouch!

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Thursday, 21 August 2003 18:33 (twenty-two years ago)

I wouldn't let Pizza Christ within 20 feet of a baby!!

Ant, don't worry, we'll meet earlier then. Do people want to say start to meet up at 7? That way the post work crowd can just swing from their workplaces up to Pine Cabin Tree Swing Camp or whatever? That place sounds the bomb.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 21 August 2003 18:38 (twenty-two years ago)

Wow, it is fairly close to where I live. And not conviently near Houston and Attorney!

bnw (bnw), Thursday, 21 August 2003 18:42 (twenty-two years ago)

You're so passive aggressive.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 21 August 2003 18:43 (twenty-two years ago)

S-dawg and L-dawg ain't no babies, they BIG BWOYS. I don't know about S-dawg, but my little L-dawg ain't called COLOSSUS for nuthin'. Seriously, sometimes he randomly decides to move people's furniture.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Thursday, 21 August 2003 18:44 (twenty-two years ago)

can we have a theme?

Carey (Carey), Thursday, 21 August 2003 18:44 (twenty-two years ago)

You're so passive aggressive.

I'm not talking to you anymore. And I'm not telling you why.

bnw (bnw), Thursday, 21 August 2003 18:47 (twenty-two years ago)

S-dawg and L-dawg ain't no babies, they BIG BWOYS. I don't know about S-dawg, but my little L-dawg ain't called COLOSSUS for nuthin'. Seriously, sometimes he randomly decides to move people's furniture.

They're a match made in hotwheel heaven. Boo had his yearly checkup a couple days ago and he's 4'1" and weighs 63 pounds. At nearly 6 years old. Holy crap.

luna (luna.c), Thursday, 21 August 2003 18:47 (twenty-two years ago)

can we have a theme?

"electric avenue" or "party all the time"!

Tad (llamasfur), Thursday, 21 August 2003 18:48 (twenty-two years ago)

bnw, I'm used to that happening to me ;(

I don't understand those themes, Tad. Explain.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 21 August 2003 18:51 (twenty-two years ago)

Lukas = 3'6" 55 lbs. at 4 years old! Woah dude, what's up with our kids being so gigantic? We should make a movie like Godzilla vs. King Kong only be Colossus vs. Boo and they can destroy NYC while we're FAPping in the background.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Thursday, 21 August 2003 18:54 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't understand those themes, Tad. Explain.

i think that they'd be pretty obvious!

Tad (llamasfur), Thursday, 21 August 2003 18:56 (twenty-two years ago)

I think our theme should be mermaids and sailors.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 21 August 2003 18:58 (twenty-two years ago)

does this foreshadow the LL Bean Style Fall '03?

Not quite, it would be better if we were meeting at Gowanus Yacht Club for that, by Y3 says that place isn't big enough for a large group.

I think the theme of this is end of summer vibe, summer camp reunion, wardrobe: those too tight second hand summer camp Ts. Phil can tell you wear to find them.

Mary (Mary), Thursday, 21 August 2003 19:23 (twenty-two years ago)

(PS: Meeting after work is a good idea. That was the scedule at the Art Bar Fap which allowed for much ruin to ensue.)

Mary (Mary), Thursday, 21 August 2003 19:25 (twenty-two years ago)

http://www.creativelightworldwide.com/pages/buyers/featurefilm/wethot/images/wethotposter.jpg

??

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 21 August 2003 19:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Tad's theme is annoying catchy tunes sung by black guys named Eddie. I like it but I don't think it gels with the venue very well.

If we go as WHAS I get to be that asshole with the hot girlfriend.

Millar (Millar), Thursday, 21 August 2003 22:20 (twenty-two years ago)

How do you dress to express "annoying catchy tunes sung by black guys named Eddie" though?? And why would anyone really want to be Paul Rudd. Our theme should be anime? Question marks?!

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 21 August 2003 23:15 (twenty-two years ago)

haha Luke and I are going to eat PIZZA* and watch that movie right now in preparation. He hasn't seen it before.

*Christ!

Millar (Millar), Thursday, 21 August 2003 23:29 (twenty-two years ago)

I like the fact that in my last post the only thing not receiving a question mark was a question. Anyway I ate some fruit! It was so great and satisfying! In no way am I jealous of pizza! Fuckers.

Actually this whole thing should be a ridiculous costume party.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 21 August 2003 23:32 (twenty-two years ago)

Right I'm not gonna be checking this. As far as it stands the plans are as such:

Friday Evening, approx 8
Cabin Tree Lodge
Theme is SUMMER CAMP

If it changes can someone kindly email me? I'll be there dressed as the trashy ho camp counsellor.

Ally-zay (mlescaut), Saturday, 23 August 2003 18:38 (twenty-two years ago)

I may have already promised myself for the Magas show, but if this gets going I'll make an effort to catch up with it.

nycabisco, Sunday, 24 August 2003 17:24 (twenty-two years ago)

I can't make this, but I am going to be in NYC that weekend and have got to find something fun for my wife to do on Labor Day evening (Monday night). Having not been to NYC for six years I can't remember what was interesting then and wouldn't expect it to still exist now. Any non-pretentious club suggestions in Manhattan are very welcome. Remember it's a Monday night, which in SF means nothing is open but this is likely not a concern in a real city.

anthony kyle monday (akmonday), Monday, 25 August 2003 17:27 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't think I'll be able to make it as my ladyfriend's playing early at Luxx then I have to jet over to Rare for Magas. Hey nabisco, uh, look for the dude! That'll be me!

hstencil, Monday, 25 August 2003 17:38 (twenty-two years ago)

Fannypack are playing that night, too: it's been like four days here and I'm already experiencing things-to-do overload.

nycabisco, Tuesday, 26 August 2003 00:27 (twenty-two years ago)

tronic treatment at sullivan room is monday nights, i think. hope you get this in time. it runs late, and is pretty okay.

phil-two (phil-two), Tuesday, 26 August 2003 03:12 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm taking the bus up to NY in about an hour and will probably get there around 9 or 10pm. Sadly (well NOW it's sadly) I do not have my own cell-phone but if there's any cool shit goin' on before Friday please let me know. I should be reachable through Carey. See ya soon, big city folk.

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Wednesday, 27 August 2003 13:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Errrrrrrr.... I'm afraid I'm heading to the Jersey Shore today and won't be back till Saturday. Sorry I can't make the FAP that I seem to have called for. I'm a dick.

I will be around Saturday though.

Aaron W (Aaron W), Thursday, 28 August 2003 12:59 (twenty-two years ago)

what a dickhead. i have to work, and uh, cant come either...

phil-two (phil-two), Thursday, 28 August 2003 17:26 (twenty-two years ago)

There is a rumor that I will be at work until 3 a.m.; if this is the case all campers will be free of their den mother tonight.

Mary (Mary), Friday, 29 August 2003 20:40 (twenty-two years ago)

We should just move the FAP to your office then.

Carey (Carey), Friday, 29 August 2003 21:07 (twenty-two years ago)

apparently before the Magas show at Rare (which I figured out is the old Cooler, duh) is a party for Arthur magazine at which Rolling Rocks will be free from 8-10. Don't know whether I'll get there in time, but hopefully I'll be there by 10.

hstencil, Friday, 29 August 2003 21:14 (twenty-two years ago)

I heard it was PBR.

Paul Eater (eater), Friday, 29 August 2003 21:20 (twenty-two years ago)

the email I just got from Magas' record shop sez Rolling Rock.

hstencil, Friday, 29 August 2003 21:27 (twenty-two years ago)

You must report back tomorrow on this critical issue.

Paul Eater (eater), Friday, 29 August 2003 21:41 (twenty-two years ago)

If I make it in time!

hstencil, Friday, 29 August 2003 21:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Mary posted right around the time I put Chuck's book back on the shelf at Strand (tho i'll get it eventually, most likely). hmmmm.

gabbneb (gabbneb), Friday, 29 August 2003 21:48 (twenty-two years ago)

you guys are all awesome, how did it go in the end?

stevem (blueski), Friday, 29 August 2003 22:45 (twenty-two years ago)

It's most likely just started stevem, though you are awesome too.

Mary (Mary), Friday, 29 August 2003 23:28 (twenty-two years ago)

Dude. I am so there. I am going to pretend like I'm a "lurker" and you will all be fooled and like me. I will go home with Ally. Mark my words!

Scaredy Cat, Friday, 29 August 2003 23:38 (twenty-two years ago)

thus proving that all lurkers are creepy?

umm, sorry nabisco I didn't make it in to Rare. Freakin' Magas forgot to put me on the list (SHAME! on ME!).

Sorry FAPers, I couldn't remember where it was, so I ended up going to my friend Russ's place in Brooklyn and got stoned and listened to bad Crazy Horse albums circa 1989. I'm sure you understand.

hstencil, Sunday, 31 August 2003 21:20 (twenty-two years ago)
