That other thread is just a little too long these days. So, your happiness? The news of the Lord of the Rings rerelease info pleases me, but I'm more generally happy just because it's almost the weekend!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 22 August 2003 18:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Because today is my last day at this job!

Aaron W (Aaron W), Friday, 22 August 2003 18:25 (twenty-two years ago)

yay Aaron!

Ally-zay (mlescaut), Friday, 22 August 2003 18:27 (twenty-two years ago)

Yay for me!

Aaron W (Aaron W), Friday, 22 August 2003 18:38 (twenty-two years ago)

TODAY IS MY LAST DAY OF FULLTIME WORK COS I'M GOING TO GRAD SCHOOL

but I'm keeping the job half time cos I need the $$. and I'll be fucking busy. and poor.

BUT YAY NO MORE REAL JOB JOB FOR A WHILE!!

g--ff c-nn-n (gcannon), Friday, 22 August 2003 18:40 (twenty-two years ago)

so congrats to Aaron, it's a great feeling, isn't it.

g--ff c-nn-n (gcannon), Friday, 22 August 2003 18:40 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah! Congrats to you as well!

Aaron W (Aaron W), Friday, 22 August 2003 18:47 (twenty-two years ago)

It's Friday, my son is right next to me (drawing), I'm taking him to a supposedly kid-friendly art exhibit tonight & also to Gattitown, an all-you-can-eat pizza buffet/arcade/game room, currently none of my friends are lying or deceiving me (or possibly cuz I got away from those "friends" ha!), and even the heavy melancholy I was feeling for missing the Radiohead show last night (FUCK YOU SOOO MUCH WORK URGH!!), my friend Kevin called me from the show and held his phone up for a good 5 minutes and God it sounded so good!

nickalicious (nickalicious), Friday, 22 August 2003 18:48 (twenty-two years ago)

Because I am ignoring my utter lack of money (thankyou, red wine!) and preparing to go out to the strains of Sean Paul. And I have an exciting internship in London next week. And the fridge is bizarrely well-stocked at the moment.

The Lex (The Lex), Friday, 22 August 2003 18:52 (twenty-two years ago)

because I just ate a great big meatball sandwich!

s1utsky (slutsky), Friday, 22 August 2003 19:03 (twenty-two years ago)

Because Verizon finally got their leaden ass off of their golden ziggurat and are sending a guy out to fix my DSL line (and the DSL loop circuit for the entire building once I discovered that it wasn't just me)

They decided to do this when I threatened to have Millar negotiate for me.

Chris Barrus (Chris Barrus), Friday, 22 August 2003 19:05 (twenty-two years ago)

And I just had a Vietnamese grilled pork sandwich from this place.

Chris Barrus (Chris Barrus), Friday, 22 August 2003 19:06 (twenty-two years ago)

I am extremely happy because in the midst of a work-related bizarro (too many details to go over here, but it's interesting in a wrong way), something has gone fully right with the ability to maybe go all-electronic with our paper reserves as soon as Fall Quarter -- and though it might not sound like much, believe me, it's VERY welcome.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 22 August 2003 20:11 (twenty-two years ago)

Because I just got this email from one of my coworkers:

Please be advised that beginning Monday August 25, D**** M***** will be IN the office working, and for a change can be reached at his extension (XXXX) or by cell phone. He will return to his usual routine of NOT being in the office on Tuesday September 2, and will once again not be reachable by telephone, cellular, or thru L***** D********. Recommencing Monday Sept 2, he will be ignoring e-mail and voice mail habitually.

Thank you.

Ally-zay (mlescaut), Friday, 22 August 2003 20:32 (twenty-two years ago)

I make awesome techno music! HAHA fuck you Kompakt I got yr NUMBER.

Millar (Millar), Friday, 22 August 2003 20:50 (twenty-two years ago)

i built my new CD rack, and it actually holds stuff up (fuck wall-mounting tho...). we also got a new widescreen tv, vcr and dvd today. i had the nicest waffles i've ever had this morning which eased slight hangover mucho - as did good pizza later on, i paid fat cheques into my account for the first time in ages, it was a really funny episode of Scrubs tonight ("I've seen bigger breasts...no I don't mean yours...although...kudos!"), i am DJing briefly tomorrow night and have not planned it, i made a list of cool buildings around west london to take photos of...the only real downer was that footage of gareth dancing coming out too poor to even see anything, but maybe that's for the best.

stevem (blueski), Friday, 22 August 2003 21:32 (twenty-two years ago)

Because even though my heartfelt happiness got overlooked in the starting of another thread, I still feel so so happy. : )

David. (Cozen), Friday, 22 August 2003 22:05 (twenty-two years ago)

I remember your happiness, David. But I'm refraining from ingratiating myself to you with congratulations until I hear how much your award money is.

jewelly (jewelly), Friday, 22 August 2003 22:46 (twenty-two years ago)

See, at this point I'm not even worrying about syntax around you!

jewelly (jewelly), Friday, 22 August 2003 22:47 (twenty-two years ago)

It is Friday night and nearly 8pm and I have NOT HAD A SINGLE BEER TODAY yet I feel FINE.

Millar (Millar), Friday, 22 August 2003 22:49 (twenty-two years ago)

I just got some work that was hanging over my head DONE DONE DONE.

Matt (Matt), Friday, 22 August 2003 22:51 (twenty-two years ago)

I filed a state complaint for a low-income single mom so that the school would stop jacking her learning-disabled 4th grader around. Feels good.

Orbit (Orbit), Saturday, 23 August 2003 00:34 (twenty-two years ago)

I just found a bunch of perfect bras, which is really hard to do, being flat and all. Also I still cannot stop listening to the Hedwig soundtrack and that makes me happy.

Maria (Maria), Saturday, 23 August 2003 02:12 (twenty-two years ago)

I just got home from job number 2 and am about to go TO THE BAR! yee haw.

Texas Sam (thatgirl), Saturday, 23 August 2003 02:14 (twenty-two years ago)

I am happy (despite being home on a Friday night *laughs*) because:

1.  I am finally content friendship-wise.
2.  I have caught up on loads of sleep.
3.  Earlier in the evening I listened to some music I'd been meaning to listen to for awhile.
4.  Today was surprisingly cool for an August day.
5.  I was in pain so I took half a Vicodin and a whole prescription-strength naproxen sodium tablet. Happyland! (No, not the one that burned to the ground.)

*smooches* to my buddies....

Just Deanna (Dee the Lurker), Saturday, 23 August 2003 02:24 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm not sure this counts as happy. But some stuff that was going to be done through a publisher isn't anymore, and I'm just going to do it myself. I'm fairly sure sales won't be affected enough to cancel out the fact that that means more of the profits go to me. It does mean I need to do more work and be more self-critical.

(And no, it isn't the vampire novel, it's some gaming stuff. Possibly lots of gaming stuff, which would once again mean making it look like I'm a game writer instead of a fictionator.) Some of this stuff is a lot of fun, so I guess the happy part is that I have an excuse to go ahead and do it now.

Tep (ktepi), Saturday, 23 August 2003 02:37 (twenty-two years ago)

PK wrote me a friendster testimonial-- aw, shucks...

Orbit (Orbit), Saturday, 23 August 2003 15:16 (twenty-two years ago)

I am much more relaxed than usual.
I finally cancelled AOL, which was satisfying because the dude I had to talk to to cancel was a real dick but I denied all of his special offers and his insults and got it done, and this new internet provider seems good so far and it costs half as much.
I'm about to go to Coppola's and get a sandwich consisting of cheese fried so that it's good and brown with hot and sweet peppers, onions, and artichoke hearts encased in it and then this vinegary sauce on top and now I'm drooling.

NA (Nick A.), Saturday, 23 August 2003 16:02 (twenty-two years ago)

B/c it's Saturday afternoon and I've made the informed decision to put off my grading till tomorrow.

I'm having a cig and a Lone Star, just got through listening to Eminem's first album and am now listening to my brother's newest. Rapalicious!

Texas Sam (thatgirl), Saturday, 23 August 2003 17:59 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh shit, I totally read that last word wrong and was very shocked for a second!

s1utsky (slutsky), Saturday, 23 August 2003 18:53 (twenty-two years ago)

I just talked my parents into loaning me enough money to pay for school this semester, and if I make dean's list again, they won't make me pay it back. Halle-fucking-lujah.

miloauckerman (miloauckerman), Saturday, 23 August 2003 18:55 (twenty-two years ago)

I just blew a shit-ton of money all on myself

Millar (Millar), Saturday, 23 August 2003 20:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Rah for living large. :-)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 23 August 2003 20:45 (twenty-two years ago)

Pootie Tang came from Netflix. And I'm making hot wings tonight, with lots of lemon.

Tep (ktepi), Saturday, 23 August 2003 21:16 (twenty-two years ago)

I am in air conditioning. aaaahhhhhh

Orbit (Orbit), Saturday, 23 August 2003 21:42 (twenty-two years ago)

nice lunch, nice nap, nice dream

BLACKOUT '03! (Jody Beth Rosen), Saturday, 23 August 2003 21:59 (twenty-two years ago)

Because I could afford a Domino's pizza for once, because Ally linked an mp3 of Richard X' 'Into You' and that's about it really.

Barimarimarima (Barima), Sunday, 24 August 2003 00:11 (twenty-two years ago)

Ah yes, you've heard that as well? It's spiffy and then some!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 24 August 2003 00:14 (twenty-two years ago)

I finally fixed my light and smoke detector, cleaned the bathroom, and I might buy a used sewing machine tomorrow (if it's cheap enough).

rosemary (rosemary), Sunday, 24 August 2003 00:34 (twenty-two years ago)

I had a NYC-sized corned beef sandwich with decent rye bread and Russian dressing at Langers today. Followed it up with apple pie and coffee.

Chris Barrus (Chris Barrus), Sunday, 24 August 2003 01:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Then I watched Rich perform 'Finest Dreams' without Kelis on Top Of The Pops with a fine-ass troupe of dancing girls while he pushed keyboards, sang along to the vocals and mixed drinks. As out there as TOTP gets these days. Also, my current crushes Fearne and Girls Aloud were hanging out.

(I'm getting small pleasures from trivial things these days, which could spill over to the counterpart thread...)

Barima (Barima), Sunday, 24 August 2003 01:36 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm going to drink the lsat beer

NA (Nick A.), Sunday, 24 August 2003 02:09 (twenty-two years ago)

so *that's* how people get into law school ;-)

Orbit (Orbit), Sunday, 24 August 2003 02:13 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm happy cuz it's still the weekend and I had pina coladas.
I'm unhappy because my fucking blender is broken so I had to basically just have them on the rocks instead of in that familiar frozen drink form, but what can you do? If anything, it made me more drunk cuz the ice wasn't melted. You know? So it was just the pina colada mix and rum diddy rum in my tummy tum tum.

One time I tried to go water skiing, like in high schoo lor somethingk and I never was able to do it and I just got water up my nose water up my nose water up my nose and it was ghorrrible.

Sarah McLujsky (coco), Sunday, 24 August 2003 02:18 (twenty-two years ago)

i'm happy because AT&T finally fixed the problem and i have my phone back.

Orbit (Orbit), Sunday, 24 August 2003 19:43 (twenty-two years ago)

this might be the codeine talking but I'M HAPPY JUST COS!!

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Monday, 25 August 2003 02:03 (twenty-two years ago)

having friends who make you smile is indoubtedly classixxxxxxxx

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Monday, 25 August 2003 02:10 (twenty-two years ago)

Cuz I'm drinkin' Heine, postin' on ILX, a wee bit blunted, and just gave out assloads of itty bitty flyers to kids all over UK campus for my band's show Tuesday night, which I'm hype about cuz it's this weird little like Lexapalooza-kinda-thing or something cuz the bands playing are completely different styles of music from each other.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Monday, 25 August 2003 04:44 (twenty-two years ago)

im happy cos i like our new band and im excited about playing real soon at the wunderbar

hellbaby (hellbaby), Monday, 25 August 2003 08:43 (twenty-two years ago)

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Monday, 25 August 2003 23:20 (twenty-two years ago)

fuck no i hate dunedin at the moment

hellbaby (hellbaby), Tuesday, 26 August 2003 04:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Do I have to have a reason?

nickalicious (nickalicious), Tuesday, 26 August 2003 04:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Nope.

luna (luna.c), Tuesday, 26 August 2003 04:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Ha! Poifict!

nickalicious (nickalicious), Tuesday, 26 August 2003 04:47 (twenty-two years ago)

just one-a them thangs...

luna (luna.c), Tuesday, 26 August 2003 05:10 (twenty-two years ago)

Slept late. Am rested. Don't need to do anything today except maybe go to the Farmer's Market, and pick up cake mix for the girlfriend's birthday (she asked for cake-from-a-mix, don't give me that look). Am having coffee with chai-in-a-box, which must be what luna means by girl coffee.

Doesn't taste much like girl.

Tep (ktepi), Tuesday, 26 August 2003 14:26 (twenty-two years ago)

Because I love Tep :)

Mark C (Mark C), Tuesday, 26 August 2003 16:21 (twenty-two years ago)

I would think that chai-in-a-box would taste very much like girl.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 26 August 2003 16:33 (twenty-two years ago)

I have no comment on any of this at this time.

luna (luna.c), Tuesday, 26 August 2003 16:35 (twenty-two years ago)

Thanks Mark :)

When I was in junior high, there was a girl with the ... either unfortunate, or complimentary ... nickname of Nutmeg. She was by all accounts the first girl at school who'd let a guy's fingers do the walking -- at any rate, the first to do so when the guy told the whole damn school about it -- and he kept telling the story in a sort of daze, going, "I licked my fingers, and she tasted like ... nutmeg."

Tep (ktepi), Tuesday, 26 August 2003 16:39 (twenty-two years ago)

I've just made Dan's day, haven't I?

Tep (ktepi), Tuesday, 26 August 2003 16:42 (twenty-two years ago)

You've certainly made mine. Again.

Mark C (Mark C), Tuesday, 26 August 2003 16:43 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm happy cuz of coffee and deliriousness and Happy Tuesday Day and this pizza I had for lunch that had kalamata olive/garlic puree in place of sauce and cuz my band has what might be an awesome-as-hell show tonight and cuz Tep's story just made my day and it made me think about how pirates used to get high on nutmeg and hooboy thank goodness for ILX, cuz this insurance crap sure ain't cutting it in the making-nickalicious-smile department.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Tuesday, 26 August 2003 16:48 (twenty-two years ago)

'Strawberry'

luna (luna.c), Tuesday, 26 August 2003 16:50 (twenty-two years ago)

Someone's told you that, Luna?

Mark C (Mark C), Tuesday, 26 August 2003 16:54 (twenty-two years ago)

I can't even read "pizza with kalamata olive" now without ... you know, wondering.

Tep (ktepi), Tuesday, 26 August 2003 16:54 (twenty-two years ago)

Pasta Italiano soup. That's why I'm happy.

Sarah McLUsky (coco), Tuesday, 26 August 2003 17:01 (twenty-two years ago)

la la

luna (luna.c), Tuesday, 26 August 2003 17:04 (twenty-two years ago)

Cos it's not yesterday. Oh, and I bought shoes!

Mark C (Mark C), Wednesday, 27 August 2003 14:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Great story Tep. There was a guy who we called "Sticky Fingers" at my high school. He was famous for giving his girlfriend the shocker.

Chris V. (Chris V), Wednesday, 27 August 2003 14:52 (twenty-two years ago)

Because I have good taste apparently (thanks amateurist!). And I just bought the nicest pair of petrol green trousers which were reduced from £85 to £20.

David. (Cozen), Wednesday, 27 August 2003 16:06 (twenty-two years ago)

I am happy because I have gotten my credit card company to restore my available credit, although I'm not clear whether they forgave a late fee or simply made it not affect my credit line; we'll see when the next bill comes.

Tep (ktepi), Wednesday, 27 August 2003 16:37 (twenty-two years ago)

Cuz oooh heaven is a place on earth!

nickalicious (nickalicious), Wednesday, 27 August 2003 16:45 (twenty-two years ago)

Because I've been getting the sweetest first-thing-in-the-morning emails, and my days have been better because of them.

luna (luna.c), Wednesday, 27 August 2003 16:53 (twenty-two years ago)

And that makes me happy too, Luna (sadly they aren't from me, I should add...). Well, that and the fact that my eyes are fine today.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Wednesday, 27 August 2003 16:55 (twenty-two years ago)

Merriment is had from both of ya being merrier. :-)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 27 August 2003 16:56 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm happy because I bought a new football today, a Fevernova (it's round), and I'm looking forward to belting it on the park in about half-an-hour.

Alfie (Alfie), Wednesday, 27 August 2003 17:01 (twenty-two years ago)

stinky wizzleteatsalicious (nickalicious), Wednesday, 27 August 2003 17:07 (twenty-two years ago)

Because The Stooges are playing one more west coast date - and it's within walking distance of my apartment!

Chris Barrus (Chris Barrus), Wednesday, 27 August 2003 18:43 (twenty-two years ago)

Because the band that I sing with sometimes has actually (apparently) booked a real! live! gig! for the first time in 900 years and it sounds like FUN.*

*It does include me singing 'Stupid Cupid' for some deep, dark reason unknown to me, but the bass player has decreed it must be so, and so I will. Level of fun undetermined.

luna (luna.c), Thursday, 28 August 2003 16:44 (twenty-two years ago)

That's exciting, luna! Now you must decide what sort of stage presence you want to have. Do you want to be one of those singers that takes the mic in her hand and moves about the stage or jumps down in the audience? Or perhaps you need a headset for your choreographed dance moves?? And whatever will you wear?

Sarah McLusky (coco), Thursday, 28 August 2003 18:13 (twenty-two years ago)

Wow, I didn't know you sang! Sounds good!

I'm quite cheerful because my eyes have stayed pretty good all week and I have a date tomorrow!

animal wrangler (Jody Beth Rosen), Thursday, 28 August 2003 22:28 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm happy because I'm listening to happy music and it's really helping make me feel like I can truly make it through another day in this extremely long week. I'm happy because I'm alive. I'm happy because I've got money in the bank account. I'm happy because in about 30 minutes I'm going to be taking a break from sitting in front of a computer and watching something I've just recently gotten into. And I'm happy because the undyingly optimistic bit in me is still hopeful for success in this one area of my life that I have been starving for success in and I'm not letting that optimism die just yet.

Just Deanna (Dee the Lurker), Thursday, 28 August 2003 23:23 (twenty-two years ago)

haha it was the codeine talking. now i'm just relieved i got over three days of feeling like HELL.

I'm getting my new stove today! It's Friday! I'm barefoot in the office! I'm drinking Fair Trade Sumatra coffee! I'm addicted to the exclamation point!

(I bet every one of Andrew WK's thoughts ends with an exclamation point.)

nickalicious (nickalicious), Friday, 29 August 2003 14:35 (twenty-two years ago)

Because I'm going to see the Celtic tomorrow, (although I have a spare (free) ticket and no-one to take. Hmph.)

Revive b/c someone asked on the 'why are you unhappy' thread.

I'm happy at the moment b/c the next feature my editor wants me to write is to be school-related. She wants us to brainstorm on something focusing on what the kids listen to and their current lil' culture.

I thought was a great idea so am quite excited.

Ask For Samantha (thatgirl), Wednesday, 5 May 2004 15:31 (twenty-one years ago)

Lets see....my wife and I have been trying to make babies and I've been getting mad action for a week. So far no signs that babies have actually been made but the practice is fun.

I've lost 22 lbs.

I'm really enjoying the weekends with BBQ's, nice weather, good friends, and lots of beer. It makes me feel young.

Chris 'The Velvet Bingo' V (Chris V), Wednesday, 5 May 2004 15:46 (twenty-one years ago)

Went to the final shortlist of this job and am overjoyed I didn't get it - it would be difficult to be a managing editor for a publisher who is notoriously lazy at paying freelancers, because guess who would have to take his money calls? Hooray it ain't me. They are, however, trying to finagle some position for me on their magazine nevertheless but their budget might be a bit too, erm, budget to engage my services.

AN Other Style Mag would also like to give me a job; a couple of editors are meeting me for dinner tomorrow and we're gonna thrash it out.

Back from lunch with a PR (referral through my friend) who wants me to consult on a shop launch and some special projects around it for a MAYYYJOR fashion client (can't say who) but good £$£$£$£. Any marketing bods know what I should charge per day?

Allyzay, Friday, 28 May 2004 20:51 (twenty-one years ago)

one year passes...
I have forgotten how to be happy!

This is really annoying, I seriously need a break from frowning, being grumpy and sitting around being -ve! Arrrrggggggghhhhhh, how do you get happy??

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 8 September 2005 17:11 (twenty years ago)

I wish I knew, the jel. I think it has something to do with acceptance of things as they are and tickling.

I am somewhat happy as I made it through my horrible 6 month probation here at work, managed to get all of my stuff from my large two bedroom apartment into my new small bachelor apartment and it more or less all fits nicely, the pain I was having in my right foot has improved to the point where I can step down on it as soon as I get out of bed (I was unable to for about 2 months), and I don't want to klll myself these days.

Bryan (Bryan), Thursday, 8 September 2005 17:20 (twenty years ago)

Crackity (Crackity Jones), Thursday, 8 September 2005 20:07 (twenty years ago)

I'm happy because I love my job (after many years of being ambivalent about jobs I was in). Life is good.

Orbit (Orbit), Friday, 9 September 2005 04:47 (twenty years ago)

What do you do Orbit? I'm an admin temp (suckage) though luckily they don't give me too much to do, leaving me free to waste time on ILX. I'm not really looking for a graduate job.

Crackity (Crackity Jones), Friday, 9 September 2005 08:03 (twenty years ago)

And I have a free bottle of wine.

Yup, looking good.

Kate Classic (kate), Monday, 19 December 2005 19:00 (twenty years ago)

Grats Kate!

I have no job and a pot of Peach Oolong. You have a new house and I can raise a mug to that. So many things make me happy these days!

Zora (Zora), Monday, 19 December 2005 19:09 (twenty years ago)

Only two more days in work in 2005! Assorted bottles of wine as presents for birthday! Went out on Saturday night for a lovely meal and lots of wine and talking and silliness, then went back out yesterday and won £20 at the pub quiz! Day off today to recover from boozing at weekend! Girls Aloud Christmas album! Irish coffees!

Cathy (Cathy), Monday, 19 December 2005 22:01 (twenty years ago)

The Hills Are Alive With Celibate Cries (kate), Wednesday, 21 December 2005 10:58 (twenty years ago)

I'm happy because I'm pregnant! :-)

Panther Pink (Pinkpanther), Wednesday, 21 December 2005 11:05 (twenty years ago)

I'm happy because Pink is pregnant, too :)

Also because of this, the grand finale of a very drunk happy evening yesterday:

Archel (Archel), Wednesday, 21 December 2005 11:54 (twenty years ago)

That looks yummy Arch, as does the red wine!!

Panther Pink (Pinkpanther), Wednesday, 21 December 2005 11:58 (twenty years ago)

That looks like my idea of heaven, actually. ;-)

The Hills Are Alive With Celibate Cries (kate), Wednesday, 21 December 2005 11:59 (twenty years ago)

Congratulations Pink!

I am happy because my liver does not appear to have packed in yet. Because there is a chance (a chance, but there) that I may get to work on a v.interesting project next year, which may (massively slim) lead to ... gasp ... a job. Because last night I did some daft voiceover work and it sounds quite good actually and non-cringey. i am also trying to suck out the remaining happiness of my last 24 hours in London for a whole week, before I have to go back to Wolverhampton and become beseiged by teenage fears again.

Anna (Anna), Wednesday, 21 December 2005 12:16 (twenty years ago)

Thanks Anna! What is it about going back to your hometown that turns you back into an 18 year old again? I hate that!

Panther Pink (Pinkpanther), Wednesday, 21 December 2005 12:18 (twenty years ago)

This is why it's good not to have a hometown...

Which reminds me, there was a thead I wanted to start today.

The Hills Are Alive With Celibate Cries (kate), Wednesday, 21 December 2005 12:24 (twenty years ago)

one year passes...
I am happy! Are you happy?

I am happy because, I have a job interview and I won a prize!

jel -- (jel), Saturday, 10 February 2007 12:43 (nineteen years ago)

I'm stressed but happy. The mixed happiness is that of evicting my roommate, which means short-term stress and long-term expense but a life much more to my liking once the moment's consumed.

The unmitigated, undiluted happiness is thanks to the girl and the gig.

And hey, my butcher gave me four half-pound burgers at cost and I grabbed a bag of sesame-seed buns that were past their sell-by, which meant four for me and four for the ducks.

Tep (ktepi), Saturday, 10 February 2007 18:22 (nineteen years ago)

Because even though I'm not a goal-oriented person, I achieved a goal a couple of weeks ago, which was to run 10 km without stopping (or stopping very little, i.e. for traffic). I did it again a week later and just tried to do it but couldn't do the whole thing again without walking a little bit (run 5 - 8 miniutes, then walk 1 or 2). Hard to breathe properly when it's -23 C, so I think I'll let myself off the hook. In an hour I'm going to donate blood and that always makes me happy (yes, I've been pigging out since I stopped running an hour ago so I should be fine).

What was the prize, jel?

Bryan (Bryan), Saturday, 10 February 2007 19:04 (nineteen years ago)

I am newly single after 10 years and I have a huge crush on a new person, which makes for fantastically anticipatory and exciting weekends.

Hard like armour, Wednesday, 21 February 2007 22:30 (nineteen years ago)

I'm well aware that I'm the kind of person that less well-off people detest. I would have.
