To all those waiting for information...

I just spoke to Gareth and Mary as they continue with their mini-tour of the north of England (they did tell me where they were, but I couldn't hear, sorry Mary).

So, there will be FAP-age tomorrow evening (Tuesday Sep 9th). As for places I suguested the Sun and Thirteen Cantons in Soho. It's a Sam Smiths, but I prefer it to some of the others. (Anna in Not Choosing A Bar shocka).

Who's in?

Anna (Anna), Monday, 8 September 2003 09:43 (twenty-one years ago)

I am.

Ricardo (RickyT), Monday, 8 September 2003 09:46 (twenty-one years ago)

yes, if I don't succumb to the dread flu (it's september)

Ed (dali), Monday, 8 September 2003 09:46 (twenty-one years ago)

I can't make it, as I'll be in Southampton on a jolly (aka society of archivists conference). Doesn't sound too fantastic, but I've just been told by my manager to treat it as a bit of R&R, so maybe I won't take my laptop with me after all.

Have a ruinous time!

Vicky (Vicky), Monday, 8 September 2003 09:49 (twenty-one years ago)

i will be there.

toby (tsg20), Monday, 8 September 2003 09:50 (twenty-one years ago)

Sun and Thirteen - Great Pultney Street, W1.

Anna (Anna), Monday, 8 September 2003 09:51 (twenty-one years ago)

Or http://www.fancyapint.com/thepubs/pub1613.htm if you prefer.

Have Sam Smiths taken this one over recently Anna? It wasn't Sam's last time I looked. not that that matters.

Not sure I'll be able to come due to possible IRL commitments but I'll make it if I can.

Tim (Tim), Monday, 8 September 2003 09:54 (twenty-one years ago)

Or http://www.fancyapint.com/thepubs/pub1613.htm if you prefer.

Tim (Tim), Monday, 8 September 2003 09:54 (twenty-one years ago)

Resign, me.

Tim (Tim), Monday, 8 September 2003 09:55 (twenty-one years ago)

your dreads have flu, ed? [sorry]

count me in :)

fancyapint says it's a fullers, not a sam smiths...

i'm assuming that's the right one anyway.

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Monday, 8 September 2003 09:56 (twenty-one years ago)

anna in not drinking beer so not knowing if it's a sam smiths shockah?!

toby (tsg20), Monday, 8 September 2003 09:58 (twenty-one years ago)

Good pub anyway though IIRC.

Why the devil not?

Tom (Groke), Monday, 8 September 2003 09:59 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm in.

The Sun and 13 Cantos is two minutes from my workplace, meaning I will be sitting there, Skidmore-style, from 5.30. I anticipate a ruinous, disastrous evening.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 8 September 2003 10:00 (twenty-one years ago)

will G & M be turning up before 8?

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Monday, 8 September 2003 10:02 (twenty-one years ago)

I anticipate polite conversation and gentlemanly behaviour Matt - perhaps the evening might take a Europhilic turn later on, which can only add to a fine night out.

Tom (Groke), Monday, 8 September 2003 10:04 (twenty-one years ago)

Will they be wearing brown adidas?

I will be there, but probably after seeing a film, as I seem to be having trouble fitting in all the films I want to see at the moment.

Pete (Pete), Monday, 8 September 2003 10:05 (twenty-one years ago)

Fullers = num num, even if the place does describe itself as a brassiere.

Ricardo (RickyT), Monday, 8 September 2003 10:06 (twenty-one years ago)

IE full of tits.

Do you work two minutes from every pub in London, Martin? Can you confirm that you're nt actually a paperseller?

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Monday, 8 September 2003 10:07 (twenty-one years ago)

Speaking of papers, I think it is only good and proper that someone arrives armed with a crossword.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 8 September 2003 10:08 (twenty-one years ago)

i'll be buying the grauniad tomorrow (tues = education grauniad) so no worries on that score :)

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Monday, 8 September 2003 10:10 (twenty-one years ago)

I am a fool. It's a while since I've been the the Sun and 13, I just remembered I liked it, it was central and non-poncy. (I always confuse it with the John Snow round the corner too).

I will be trying to drink in a sensible fashion, since my memories of the last two FAPs contain long blank periods.

Anna (Anna), Monday, 8 September 2003 10:11 (twenty-one years ago)

The crossword should preferably be ripped from a free copy of the Daily Mail. Or everyone must find one and bootleg it. They can be graded later on best Questions and best Answers.

Hey, did anything ever happen about the Focus Group at GeetaFAP?

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Monday, 8 September 2003 10:12 (twenty-one years ago)

Andrew I am coding it right now! (it and everything else thats going up this evening)

Tom (Groke), Monday, 8 September 2003 10:19 (twenty-one years ago)

Matt I'll try and get there for the same time as you tomorrow, and I'll remember the CDs this time

stevem (blueski), Monday, 8 September 2003 11:06 (twenty-one years ago)

I've got an evening class, but will try to make it around 9-ish. With the Mirror crosswords page! as it is the greatest ever.

cis (cis), Monday, 8 September 2003 11:18 (twenty-one years ago)

I'll have to miss ANUTHA FAP as my FAPping days are pretty much over until after my final set of exams in the first week of Dec. (Just in time to defend the ILX Bar Billiards championship??) The course schedule is flipping horrific as is my workload at work right now.

I hope to turn out and see Ned if poss, and maybe if a FAP coincides with my half-term..

Have fun.

Dr. C (Dr. C), Monday, 8 September 2003 11:19 (twenty-one years ago)

Does anyone know what a canton is? Just out of interest...

Anna (Anna), Monday, 8 September 2003 11:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Canton = Swiss county, more or less

Ricardo (RickyT), Monday, 8 September 2003 11:25 (twenty-one years ago)

Hello chums, I will be there too. I'm not hanging around on -line, just looking in.

p.s. RUIN has abated at long last. what a week.

Alan (Alan), Monday, 8 September 2003 11:58 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh and I must mention that this http://search.msn.com/preview.aspx?&q=cunnalingus (among other things) proves how much FT rocks

Alan (Alan), Monday, 8 September 2003 12:08 (twenty-one years ago)

can't make it to this one.

jel -- (jel), Monday, 8 September 2003 15:43 (twenty-one years ago)

Andrew, you are addressing me before I've even shown up. It is Matt who works near this one. I work a few minutes from Centrepoint, well known as the centre of London outside HopkinsWorld, so most pubs are near. And I generally knock off at 5. I might even get there before Matt does tomorrow, but maybe not.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Monday, 8 September 2003 17:11 (twenty-one years ago)

Bump

Ricardo (RickyT), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 08:44 (twenty-one years ago)

Martin you are endearingly literalist. Your insistence that UCL must be a proper University because it has University in its name was derided on Saturday and now you dig out the old canard re: Centrepoint.

Oh, yes. I will be along tonight but not for very long because I am bushed, and not in a good way.

Tim (Tim), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 08:52 (twenty-one years ago)

Has Martin been pulling out his old canard again?

Sorry I can't make it. I have been delayed in Northern Britain.

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 09:13 (twenty-one years ago)

london has no centre: as all know it is a double doughnut with TWO other cities placed concentrically inside it

viz london > city of london > city of westminster

sadly i cannot be there tonight to accept yr plaudits for clarifying the topology of the capital as i am going to an ilx-friend's b'day

mary see you soon i hope

mark s (mark s), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 09:30 (twenty-one years ago)

I have indeed mistaken Martin with Matt, and am filled with shame.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 09:41 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't understand Mark S's topography, the City of London and the City of Westminster are side-by-side, not concentrically within one another.

I did have to consult the map next to me to check this, mind. Unfortunately, I cannot pinpoint the exact positioning of the Fleet Street McDonalds on said map.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 09:44 (twenty-one years ago)

(It's more or less opposite the North End of Bouverie St, Matt, but the quicker way to find it is to look right in the middle of the map.)

Tim (Tim), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 09:46 (twenty-one years ago)

(Unless you're using the WRONG MAP of course)

Tim (Tim), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 09:46 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes the map you're after is of East London Matt.

Tom (Groke), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 09:55 (twenty-one years ago)

haha careless use of word "concentrically" in a claim that [y] has no centre!!

clearly the CoW is "within" the CoL in the sense that an infinitely thin strip of CoW is cast round the entire perimeter of the CoL => thus if you enter the CoW from east, you MUST pass through the CoL (but can never pause IN it at that point)

this is obvious

*goes to consult map*

mark s (mark s), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 09:55 (twenty-one years ago)

"Infinitely thin" - har har - shouldn't this be on the Palestine / I mean Geri Halliwell thread..

Pete (Pete), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 11:02 (twenty-one years ago)

Palestine is a little sensitive about it's weight if you don't mind

stevem (blueski), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 11:05 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm coming to this if I wake up in time!!! I haven't slept in 36 hours or so! I just checked into "The Finsbury Residences," which appear to be mainly a squat lump of concrete just inside the Islington boundary. The man behind the desk there is also squat. He has a face like a red and sweaty onion. Each task he grips with a peculiar kind of perplexed intensity: he handled my cash deposit for the room as if he had never seen money before, laying each note in the cash register as if it might break. He would move from one section of his desk to another--franking receipts or whatever it is he does--with a gravity usually reserved for professional condolence. I was afraid I wouldn't get the room but I did!

I'm kind of scared to meet you guys, actually, what's up with that??

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 11:41 (twenty-one years ago)

And is Mary coming or is she in North Cumboria or something, I don't get it?

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 11:43 (twenty-one years ago)

Welcome back to Britain, Tracer! Are you staying in this 'Finsbury Residences' just temporarily? It sounds quite comical.

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 11:44 (twenty-one years ago)

will Gareth and Mary actually turn up? let's hope so, but it'll be a great 'Welcome to London, Tracer' FAP if nothing else in addition.

stevem (blueski), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 11:45 (twenty-one years ago)

yay! 'mericans everywhere!!

don't be scared tracer, i'm sure we're not as weird as that new york lot ;)

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 11:47 (twenty-one years ago)

Tracer, you're about 5 minutes walk from gareth, mary and I, want to walk down with us?

Ed (dali), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 11:47 (twenty-one years ago)

i'm sure we're not as weird as that new york lot

that sounds like a wager to me

stevem (blueski), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 11:49 (twenty-one years ago)

tracer, we have left north cumboria and asia minor and atlantis and saltaire and are now back in london town, so we will be there tonite

gareth (gareth), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 11:51 (twenty-one years ago)

Sekford Arms, Wenlock, The Quin all ten minutes walk from Finsbury Residences. Hmm, good locale for drinkin'. (NOT CITY UNIVERSITY BAR).

Pete (Pete), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 11:53 (twenty-one years ago)

With pan-galactic customs stickers all over your heads, like Bugs Bunny's baseball!

N. this residence hall thing only lasts until Monday and then I gotta figure some shit out.

Ed that is just..... too much for you to say that, it's like I'm 15 and I'm finally gonna meet James Hetfield or something! WTF!!!!! Where should I meet you?

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 11:54 (twenty-one years ago)

(That first was to gareth)

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 11:55 (twenty-one years ago)

where is Mark P at the mo btw?

stevem (blueski), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 11:56 (twenty-one years ago)

I really think Tracer should get some sleep.

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 11:57 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes I should.

Pete you only say that because you don't get the 25p pints like us students do.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 11:57 (twenty-one years ago)

Tracer, I'm really looking forward to meeting you too! Don't get directions from Mark S!

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 11:58 (twenty-one years ago)

''The man behind the desk there is also squat. He has a face like a red and sweaty onion. a new adventure in the life of tracer head begins.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 12:00 (twenty-one years ago)

Tracer you can sleep in the pub while we all sit around you, win win!

stevem (blueski), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 12:01 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes what should we talk about to make your napping easier?

Tom (Groke), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 12:03 (twenty-one years ago)

Sam SMith's vs Fuller's

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 12:05 (twenty-one years ago)

we can talk about the suicide pact of dance and indie (zzzzzz)

stevem (blueski), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 12:06 (twenty-one years ago)

ACtually I am keen to learn about cricket!

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 12:07 (twenty-one years ago)

Tracer, I have mailed your yahoo address.

Ed (dali), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 12:08 (twenty-one years ago)

You should all play pub cricket. It is very soporific.

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 12:09 (twenty-one years ago)

Send it again, Ed, I think the first one will have bounced back.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 12:10 (twenty-one years ago)

Gareth can teach him about London bus routes! Indoctrinate him into being a PROPER London Ilx0r and send him to sleep at the same time.

I had no idea Tracer was arriving in the UK this early... it's a pleasant surprise.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 12:10 (twenty-one years ago)

That's a nice thing to say, Matt, thank you. Bus routes--ALL London geography at this point--will definitely send me catatonic but I know that they are Good and Right.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 12:14 (twenty-one years ago)

Looking forward to seeing everyone tonight, including my NYC compatriot TRACER HAND -- thanks Anna -- yesterday we were in Saltaire (maybe it's not so famous?).

Mary in Clerkenwell (gareth), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 12:20 (twenty-one years ago)

I take it you got the email as I got a reply.

Ed (dali), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 12:29 (twenty-one years ago)

I take it you got the email as I got a reply.

!?

toby (tsg20), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 12:37 (twenty-one years ago)

awww bugger, I cannot believe I am missing this. However I have been having a blast in Fla. just chilling with my mom (yes it's possible)and yesterday went to an outlet mall and was bought Adidas Gazelles for 20 quid, heh heh. And I'm not sure but I think I have a tan.

CNN just announced the death of Leni Reifenstahl and the bimbette reading the news said Leni was a HE. How fucking stupid.

Ed I cannot believe you are fluey.

Gareth you have a few boring postcards to expect, they're...pretty good.

Tracer, our drinks will come on the 17th or so.

suzy in FLORIDA, Tuesday, 9 September 2003 12:38 (twenty-one years ago)

I like the way this statement:
"Pete you only say that because you don't get the 25p pints like us students do"
is wrong in so many ways...

Pete (Pete), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 12:59 (twenty-one years ago)

must...

have...

beer...

very soon...

day going to hell in handbasket...

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 13:33 (twenty-one years ago)

Mmmm beer. Fragrant ale.

Ricardo (RickyT), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 14:27 (twenty-one years ago)

Hey Tracer, welcome to the UK! You'll have a blast tonight, if you can stay awake, I'm sure.

Suzy-I was wondering where you were, hope you have a grand time, if that's what can be had in Florida. Maybe it should be 'hope you have a sunshine time'. who knows!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 14:59 (twenty-one years ago)

seems to be a possible problem with the pub detailed above, i just got a call from anna, and is v crowded, looks like people may be decamping to the jon snow, they are near each other, if you havent set off yet, you may need to try both...

gareth (gareth), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 17:34 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm surprised that the Sun is fullers.

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 17:38 (twenty-one years ago)

haha, much pub confusion. The Jon Snow was also full so we moved to the old faithful Glasshouse Stores, albeit in a different corner from the usual. Tracer eventually hooked up with us. I was delighted to meet him but it was a pretty big turn out and we didn't really get to talk. It was good to see Mary again too of course, and I happened to be sitting next to Tracer while he was being introduced, and managed to interject a "This is Mary. She's from America too so you probably know each other," which I enjoyed even if no one else did. I also enjoyed getting to talk to Cis for the first time. I'll be tired the rest of the week, I expect...

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 21:26 (twenty-one years ago)

A usual grand time for all? Expect nowt less from you lot;> Yay!

Nichole Graham (Nichole Graham), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 21:29 (twenty-one years ago)

You know, sometimes I'm not sure if I fully enjoy beer as much as I should.

Mandee, Tuesday, 9 September 2003 22:28 (twenty-one years ago)

ALL IS WRONG. I have escaped from the wreck to warn ye.

Welcome to England Tracer Hand.

Remind me about the phone before Friday ruin.

You didn't waste much time, Steve. Why aren't you in bed sleeping this ruin off, you wasteful scumbag?

My morning is a wreck. I dread to think what might have happened if I had gone to the Spanish Bar after all.

Which Spanish Bar is that, btw?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 10 September 2003 07:48 (twenty-one years ago)

It was indeed a rocking night though - great to see Mary again and meet Tracer. I always forget how much I like the Glasshouse.

we never played bar billiards, oh well next time, I will conquer all.

Ed (dali), Wednesday, 10 September 2003 08:13 (twenty-one years ago)

Looks like a grebt night. Pete looks k-ruined. I still think that Gareth looks like G.Hristov (also same initial & Yorkshire connection too!)

Bar billiards - get practising folks! I'm not giving up my title without a fight.

haha, that's my cold you have, possibly. I shouldn't have been out last night as my cold/flu thing is so much worse this morning.

Ed (dali), Wednesday, 10 September 2003 08:37 (twenty-one years ago)

there were twenty one people there last nite, i counted and everything...

...feeling better now (11.10am)

i can't believe you went to spain again...

...good pics too steve

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Wednesday, 10 September 2003 09:12 (twenty-one years ago)

sorry i didn't make it. I have the cold already, otherwise I would have been along.

Alan (Alan), Wednesday, 10 September 2003 09:23 (twenty-one years ago)

I have noticed an upsurge in people saying 'the cold' instead of 'a cold'. Is this normal?

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 10 September 2003 09:26 (twenty-one years ago)

We went via the Caribbean Bar - which had no seats.

Ruined, me? Its an act you fules.

Toby spent much of the night trying to persuade me to shave all my hair off. Hmmm.

I'm not sure if the common cold should get a definite article, cos its too common.

Pete (Pete), Wednesday, 10 September 2003 09:26 (twenty-one years ago)

Some talk also about reprising this gathering on Friday evening. Does that still sound like a good idea in the harsh daylight? (we were talking about the Calthorpe Arms as I recall tough that's hardly set in stone).

Tim (Tim), Wednesday, 10 September 2003 09:56 (twenty-one years ago)

Calthorpe arms is a fine idea and its fairly quiet on fridays. Mark s was keen having missed last night. There was some talk of bringing Mandee, Tracer and Mary together on friday or saturday.

Ed (dali), Wednesday, 10 September 2003 09:58 (twenty-one years ago)

Mandee Tracer AND Mary!? B-but that's madness!

Tim (Tim), Wednesday, 10 September 2003 10:01 (twenty-one years ago)

Mandee doesn't arrive til Saturday morning, and I think we're already booked up for Saturday nite. Not that this should prevent you fapping!

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Wednesday, 10 September 2003 10:02 (twenty-one years ago)

Curses, foiled.

Ed (dali), Wednesday, 10 September 2003 10:03 (twenty-one years ago)

Calthorpe Arms is always a good choice.

Ricardo (RickyT), Wednesday, 10 September 2003 10:08 (twenty-one years ago)

It would be a bit of a shame if we couldn't have another one on Friday because I could actually make it then (keen to meet Tracer - I missed this whole thread for some reason).

Marcello Carlin, Wednesday, 10 September 2003 10:10 (twenty-one years ago)

Toby spent much of the night trying to persuade me to shave all my hair off. Hmmm.

lies! it was about 5 mins, and was started by you saying that you were thinking of shaving your head!

tom - i'll do you a grime cdr over the weekend.

ruin - oh yes indeed. i thought i was doing ok until i walked into a lamp post outside kings cross, although neither anna nor pete noticed this. i'm missing some skin now though (damn anti flyposting paint!).

to the best of my knowledge my memory of the evening is complete, although i could definitely use some prompting.

toby (tsg20), Wednesday, 10 September 2003 10:13 (twenty-one years ago)

I noticed but I didn't want to embarress you.

Pete (Pete), Wednesday, 10 September 2003 10:22 (twenty-one years ago)

sadly i am booked for fri eve and can only do sat

mark s (mark s), Wednesday, 10 September 2003 10:45 (twenty-one years ago)

I second Friday FAPping action, as I can't do Saturday and am selfish.

(Damn, x-post)

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 10 September 2003 10:48 (twenty-one years ago)

What Matt said, except about the x-post.

Tim (Tim), Wednesday, 10 September 2003 10:49 (twenty-one years ago)

actually if fri starts early and continues late i can in fact leave and (possibly) even come back

mark s (mark s), Wednesday, 10 September 2003 10:55 (twenty-one years ago)

Starting early and continuing late? Whoever heard of such an idea? Why, that might lead to drunkenness and regrettable behaviour!

Tim (Tim), Wednesday, 10 September 2003 10:57 (twenty-one years ago)

Thanks all -- it was a treat. Looking forward to Friday. Off to Selfridges now...

Mary at Clerkenwell (dali), Wednesday, 10 September 2003 11:01 (twenty-one years ago)

Don't forget Pout and Space NK...

Things I learned last night:

Americans covet Marlboro Lights with brown tips.
Squezzing between two marble topped tables will give at least half of LILx a view of your bum they probably didn't want.
The Sun and Thirteen Cantons is not the pub I thought it was (i.e. The John Snow).
Matt DC suguests further ruin and then buggers off home.

Anna (Anna), Wednesday, 10 September 2003 11:07 (twenty-one years ago)

and then they squezz up!!

mark s (mark s), Wednesday, 10 September 2003 11:12 (twenty-one years ago)

http://base58.com/ilx/fap_20030909/pete_gorgeous.jpg

David. (Cozen), Wednesday, 10 September 2003 11:13 (twenty-one years ago)

But Anna - you were also crowned the Queen Of Ruin - which is a title you should be proud of.

Pete (Pete), Wednesday, 10 September 2003 11:13 (twenty-one years ago)

Dada would be great if he just went around posting that pic all the time. He looks a little like a ruined Graham Spiers.

David. (Cozen), Wednesday, 10 September 2003 11:13 (twenty-one years ago)

ah yes i forgot about matt dc's reprehensible behaviour. explanation, matt?

toby (tsg20), Wednesday, 10 September 2003 11:38 (twenty-one years ago)

I am a stinking filthy wuss. My head is hung in shame. I will make up for it with doubular ruin on Friday instead.

I refute the accusation that I suggested further ruin though. I lay that blame purely at Anna's door.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 10 September 2003 12:11 (twenty-one years ago)

Hey, I'm off to see the TV people now, I'll be reporting back.

chris (chris), Wednesday, 10 September 2003 14:20 (twenty-one years ago)

I've just remembered that last night I learnt how to chop the head off a goat. I look forward to using this new-found knowledge shortly.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 10 September 2003 14:22 (twenty-one years ago)

i thought the sub heading of pumpkin publog was supposed to be "below the cheeky line" now?

(yes, yes, i'll write some stuff for it over the weekend.)

toby (tsg20), Wednesday, 10 September 2003 14:25 (twenty-one years ago)

Did Tracer teach Gareth the dance like we asked him to at his going away party???

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 10 September 2003 14:33 (twenty-one years ago)

Not that I saw. Damn, we've blown it now. We were going to say we'd kidnapped him and every week send back one brown curl to New York. Then you would have to send us beer and wine and Marlboro Lights with white filters so we would keep him safe.

Mary was our mole.

Anna (Anna), Wednesday, 10 September 2003 14:49 (twenty-one years ago)

I have lost all respect for Tracer now. The kahuka or whatever, man, how could you forget. Jesus god. You can keep the useless git. We give him ONE MESSAGE TO BRING OVER and he fails in the mission.

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 10 September 2003 15:06 (twenty-one years ago)

he had extra opportunity, we brought him home and fed him spanish cheese.

Ed (dali), Wednesday, 10 September 2003 15:09 (twenty-one years ago)

(Mary looks great in all these pix btw!)

(not that the rest of you don't!)

(never mind!)

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 10 September 2003 15:12 (twenty-one years ago)

Are you playing favorites, Ally?

Mandee, Wednesday, 10 September 2003 15:13 (twenty-one years ago)

:(

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 10 September 2003 15:24 (twenty-one years ago)

You don't know which vertebrae, that secret remains mine.

Ed (dali), Wednesday, 10 September 2003 15:29 (twenty-one years ago)

The kahuka or whatever, man, how could you forget.

The Kevorka? Oh, I'm sure London got the message of the Kevorka. He is TRACER HAND.

Great photos of Mary et al! Looks like fun. Ruin her gently, we want her back.

felicity (felicity), Wednesday, 10 September 2003 15:30 (twenty-one years ago)

No no, no Kevorka, the Kahuka. I'm spelling it phonetically though. Ruin Eli hardcore, we don't want him back anymore :(

dude cafe bustelo man, I thought he was my boy.

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 10 September 2003 16:00 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't think I'd make it to a FAP on friday, but have a good time and all that.

swansong -- (jel), Wednesday, 10 September 2003 17:21 (twenty-one years ago)

Damn, those are nasty photos of me. Not unrealistically nasty, maybe, but nasty nonetheless.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Wednesday, 10 September 2003 18:38 (twenty-one years ago)

As usual, Skidders, you are too rough on yourself....

Fun pics, though Tracer seems to be fitting in way too well, and it's not even a month yet!;>

Nichole Graham (Nichole Graham), Wednesday, 10 September 2003 20:37 (twenty-one years ago)

It wasn't even 48 hours

Ed (dali), Wednesday, 10 September 2003 20:39 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh no -- I forgot Pout and Space NK. I did make it to John Lewis, Topshop, Uniqlo, and Muji though ...

Mary (Mary), Thursday, 11 September 2003 04:21 (twenty-one years ago)

What the bloody hell were you doing up at 6:21AM you don't get up then?

Ed (dali), Thursday, 11 September 2003 05:41 (twenty-one years ago)

My mind was playing tricks on me.

Mary (Mary), Thursday, 11 September 2003 08:33 (twenty-one years ago)

aw, poor mary's mind :)

SO, Calthorpe Arms tomorrow night then?

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Thursday, 11 September 2003 08:59 (twenty-one years ago)

Mmmm... Ordinary.

Tim (Tim), Thursday, 11 September 2003 09:02 (twenty-one years ago)

What kind of idiot would spend a precious Friday night that they can never have again on the ruin with menkos?

Answer:

Tom (Groke), Thursday, 11 September 2003 09:04 (twenty-one years ago)

'RickyT' is also an acceptable answer to that question.

Ricardo (RickyT), Thursday, 11 September 2003 09:10 (twenty-one years ago)

but tom, that's the same thing we do every friday night...

Pinky and the Brain (CarsmileSteve), Thursday, 11 September 2003 09:30 (twenty-one years ago)

Try to take over... the pub.

Tim (Tim), Thursday, 11 September 2003 09:38 (twenty-one years ago)

Ally I'd successfully blocked "the Kahuka" from my memory until now, thanks a lot.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Thursday, 11 September 2003 09:46 (twenty-one years ago)

I can't make tomorrow night so I hope people are up for continuing the ruin into the next night (I'll catch up with you then)

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 11 September 2003 10:37 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh no, our offical photographer, what will my lovely hair do?

Pete (Pete), Thursday, 11 September 2003 10:57 (twenty-one years ago)

If people wish I shall bring digicam and chronicle the ruin.

Ed (dali), Thursday, 11 September 2003 10:58 (twenty-one years ago)

Ed: please don't.

Pete: Let's ask Toby, his advice is bound to be good.

Tim (Tim), Thursday, 11 September 2003 10:59 (twenty-one years ago)

Don't worry, I shall forget and unless I tidy up real good I shan't be able to find my digicam.

Ed (dali), Thursday, 11 September 2003 11:06 (twenty-one years ago)

what with all the obscuring lumps of unfinished cheese

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Thursday, 11 September 2003 11:20 (twenty-one years ago)

i now fear the wrath of Tim for posting a pic of him...but it's okay cos i got mad rhyming skillz

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 11 September 2003 11:23 (twenty-one years ago)

I cleared those.

Ed (dali), Thursday, 11 September 2003 11:25 (twenty-one years ago)

Clearing Stevem's rhyming skillz was harsh but at least it leaves the way clear for my wrath to descend upon him mightily.

Tim (Tim), Thursday, 11 September 2003 11:28 (twenty-one years ago)

Tracer I cannot block it from memory, I'm practically married to it :(

I see no reason why you shouldn't suffer too!

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 11 September 2003 12:43 (twenty-one years ago)

next time i see Tim and Pete at a FAP i would enjoy it very much if they shouted 'damn you papparazzo!' at me every time i unleash the digicam

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 11 September 2003 12:57 (twenty-one years ago)

Compared to what we have in store for you, anyone would enjoy that.

Tim (Tim), Thursday, 11 September 2003 13:01 (twenty-one years ago)

You know, that one pic of Tracer and Gareth standing together, they both look very smug, why are they looking so smug? Anna, I just realized I have dyed my hair the same color as you, I am sorry for biting your style but I didn't know.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 11 September 2003 13:05 (twenty-one years ago)

they're not smug, that's the G-man's natural expression surely? and Tracer is just being amused by Tom's recital of the entire episode of 'The Ark In Space'

Tim is really scaring me now - what terrible wrath have i yet to receive?

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 11 September 2003 13:08 (twenty-one years ago)

or Tom could be saying 'gentlemen I give you Gareth!' in a late 19th century philanthropist stylee

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 11 September 2003 13:10 (twenty-one years ago)

Did that really happen? Because if it didn't I'm gonna make sure it does next time I see Gareth.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 11 September 2003 13:24 (twenty-one years ago)

sadly i'm making this all up :(

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 11 September 2003 15:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Anna, I made it to Pout and Space NK in Covent Garden (on the backside of my traditional Super Lovers visit). I loved Pout -- it was like a Tinkerbell fantasy of playing with make-up, though more expensive than it appeared, unfortunately.

I wasn't so impressed with Space NK, it seemed more clinical and high style and not all warm and fuzzy like Pout, but maybe that's just because I saw Pout first and had already dropped a pretty penny there on a couple of lip glosses....

Thanks for the recs as always....

Mary (Mary), Monday, 15 September 2003 22:12 (twenty-one years ago)

The Kahuka, but only the upper half:

http://bitchcakes.topcities.com/turbonegro/kahuka.jpg

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 18 September 2003 01:38 (twenty-one years ago)

wtf? he is wearing that t-shirt again!

gareth (gareth), Thursday, 18 September 2003 05:09 (twenty-one years ago)

He really likes that t-shirt maybe??

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 18 September 2003 12:29 (twenty-one years ago)

Someone has to.

Pete (Pete), Thursday, 18 September 2003 12:44 (twenty-one years ago)

Look at the expression on his face though, is he not adorable? Like a kitten? A kitten in a Good Housekeeping t-shirt?

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 18 September 2003 13:30 (twenty-one years ago)

http://bitchcakes.topcities.com/turbonegro/eli.jpg

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 18 September 2003 22:29 (twenty-one years ago)

Makes you just want to pet him, and give him a big bowl of Tummy Yummies.

Nichole Graham (Nichole Graham), Thursday, 18 September 2003 22:30 (twenty-one years ago)

He's dreamy!

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 18 September 2003 22:31 (twenty-one years ago)

Dear God!!! Why does Millar looks so suspicious? He's the one who showed me the goddamn Kahuka in the first place. As far as the second pic goes, I can't believe I forgot to bring my ear cosy to England with me.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Friday, 19 September 2003 11:05 (twenty-one years ago)

Ear cosy! I'll bring it when I go. I like how the girl behind you (M.......e?) is totally ignoring you both.

Ally (mlescaut), Saturday, 20 September 2003 02:04 (twenty-one years ago)

She is, sensibly, looking away from the flash.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Saturday, 20 September 2003 02:10 (twenty-one years ago)

That flash was mad! Look at the shadowing! Is it art or pain?

Ally (mlescaut), Saturday, 20 September 2003 02:19 (twenty-one years ago)

kahuka 40 hands

Ed (dali), Monday, 22 September 2003 20:49 (twenty-one years ago)

:O

best idea EVER.

Ally (mlescaut), Monday, 22 September 2003 23:06 (twenty-one years ago)

Invented (but not yet enacted) in London

All your fun belongs to us.

Ed (dali), Tuesday, 23 September 2003 11:10 (twenty-one years ago)

Didn't it rise to 70 hands?

Anna (Anna), Tuesday, 23 September 2003 12:09 (twenty-one years ago)

possibly, cos we don't have 40s here

70 hands is one big horse.

Ed (dali), Tuesday, 23 September 2003 12:24 (twenty-one years ago)

You don't think it's a wee bit sad that you have to steal our fun to invent your own? You should have something involving tea, like scalding hot tea should be thrown on Tracer and then you all laugh while he runs around screaming. Actually, I think I'll save that for when next I see him, forget I said it.

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 23 September 2003 12:30 (twenty-one years ago)

We are mearly remixing your fun.

Anna (Anna), Tuesday, 23 September 2003 12:34 (twenty-one years ago)

You should involve a focus group in it somehow perhaps?

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 23 September 2003 13:07 (twenty-one years ago)

Wow I woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning, that was unnecessary.

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 23 September 2003 13:08 (twenty-one years ago)
