the best place for FAPping as proven by science is Odessa, a diner that we found down near the Hi-Fi and that other joint where we moved the pool table across the room that I forgot the name of.

Anyway they had $3 Anchor Steam in bottles and it was quiet enough to have a conversation without screaming and the bathrooms were relatively clean and they had 'disco fries' on the menu along with a bunch of other good food. I say fuck the hipster bar atmosphere, just hang out at a diner that serves liquor! Plus you save on tips!

Oh yes! Well The Hole is better on Wednesdays than on Saturdays, but its still not bad for a Saturday. And its only a few blocks away from Lit. Lit is going to be incredibly hot and crowded though on Saturday night. The Hole really isn't all that sceney on Saturdays anymore [for better or worse]...

So I think I'm finalizing my CMJ plans. Wednesday: Kindercore then Frenchkiss. I'm pretty sure my dinnerdate isn't going to want to come, and I have a plus-one if anyone's interested. Thursday, Kill Rock Stars afternoon party at Starfoods, then The Shins at Virgin USQ, then the Rough Trade @ Bowery, and then the DFA thing at Tribeca. Zoinks! Saturday, Stars & Soviet at the daystage, Enon & The Rapture at night. Sunday, Salteens in the evening and Slumber Party at night.

Coral Room is pretty crowded with trashy hos [for better or worse] on weekends! But its pretty cool, but really expensive and theres a cover on the weekends. I think a Hole/Lit combination would be okay. Although neither are really good for sitting and chatting, but at least you can smoke in them. Can't we go to The Cock? or The Slide?

Last night I went to dinner at Sandobe (excellent CHEAP sushi), then to a bar called Company, then shared a pitcher (think Kool-Aid) of Sangria at a placed called Counter, then drinks and a little dancing at Serena (under the Chelsea Hotel), then down to the meat packing district for more dancing at Cielo, and finally mussels at Florent at 4:30am!

re: the brunch, I was trying to decide this numerous times this weekend especially since when I got to the FAP like 4 or 5 people asked me to call them with the "brunch directions" and I was like wtf? Seriously, was there supposed to be a brunch? There is no actual indication of this on this thread besides Tad bringing up the concept of brunch and then Mary stating a good place to eat a brunch if you are an alcoholic (YAY!). I kind of feel bad, like I have failed in my hostess duties but OTOH we didn't actually get up and shower and leave my house until 5:30 so I mean that's not a good time for a brunch.

I got roped into running drinks at a bar I used to work at and got really drunk by 9 o'clock and ended up somehow at limelight [??] for some techno DJ [??]. well, it's a digital Canon S400 which had some really good reviews. On a couple of the pics I ran it through the most basic sharpen filter on photoshop, but the colors and the sharpness on the majority are all from the camera itself. I highly recommend it.

and I only used the filter because the pix blur a bit when you reduce them in size - I took them at the maximum setting which makes images like 2200 x 1700 pixels.

Spencer that sounds superb - I wish I were there!

I don't know if it's still the case but Hiro is one of the few clubs in NYC you can smoke in. Which endears me to it even if the door staff can be a little unforgiving. I had a memorable night there with ILX's own maura after which I was given a summons for peeing on a tree. So uh, be careful out there.
