*spoilers*

phone rings, jack doesn't answer it and pootles around his garden all day, before making himself a light salad and calling his old mum on the phone

after several episodes of this and other minor business round his rawther swank flat, the screen suddenly goes black

THE END!

*end spoilers*

cougars take over america!

cinniblount (James Blount), Tuesday, 28 October 2003 21:42 (twenty-two years ago)

If Jack were up against a terrorist network of evil cougar/Thundercats hybrids, I would so watch this show.

Nicolars (Nicole), Tuesday, 28 October 2003 21:44 (twenty-two years ago)

jack exposes the taco bell white slave trade ring!

cinniblount (James Blount), Tuesday, 28 October 2003 21:46 (twenty-two years ago)

you will believe a gorilla can fly!

cinniblount (James Blount), Tuesday, 28 October 2003 21:46 (twenty-two years ago)

jack exposes the taco bell white slave trade ring!

This sounds about right.

On TV everyone can see you overact.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 28 October 2003 22:27 (twenty-two years ago)

cougars take over america!

this was my high school's motto.

Haikunym (Haikunym), Tuesday, 28 October 2003 22:29 (twenty-two years ago)

if they pull another "here are at least a dozen blonde women to try to distinguish between" move in the first episode i'm not going to bother this time - SOME OF US DON'T HAVE CABLE YOU NINNIES

(kiefer = the husky-sounding one, but after that it gets confusing)

jones (actual), Tuesday, 28 October 2003 22:57 (twenty-two years ago)

I am just waiting for the writers to introduce Jack's slacker older brother and mildy irritating disbelieving scientist father, and for them to reveal that the head baddie behind everything is in fact Jack's genetically engineered evil twin.

James Mitchell (James Mitchell), Tuesday, 28 October 2003 22:59 (twenty-two years ago)

hey no Alias spoilers!!!

jones (actual), Tuesday, 28 October 2003 23:00 (twenty-two years ago)

SECOND-BEST ENDING EVER

(The best ending would have ended with Jack high on smack for the rest of the day.)

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 29 October 2003 03:30 (twenty-two years ago)

I was about to ask if that was smack! I forgot it premiered tonight and came home just in time to distractedly see the last couple minutes. What the hell?

Tep (ktepi), Wednesday, 29 October 2003 03:34 (twenty-two years ago)

Chase is surely a cougar in a human costume.

Leee (Leee), Wednesday, 29 October 2003 06:03 (twenty-two years ago)

Also: Michelle has only a BS from UC DAVIS!?!?!

Leee (Leee), Wednesday, 29 October 2003 06:18 (twenty-two years ago)

dig that virgen de guadalupe tattoo on jack!!

teeny (teeny), Wednesday, 29 October 2003 14:11 (twenty-two years ago)

i think i'll just download all these new episodes rather than wait until the new year and then face the agonising drip-feed process of weekly installments again

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 29 October 2003 14:13 (twenty-two years ago)

What? I thought series 2 bombed anyway? Why they bringing it back? I stuck it out for 1, but... time's a-wasting! You won't get those 22 hours back!

Enrique (Enrique), Wednesday, 29 October 2003 14:16 (twenty-two years ago)

apparently in the next episode jack turns into a vampire and the two coreys try to slay him.

Chris V. (Chris V), Wednesday, 29 October 2003 14:18 (twenty-two years ago)

are you guys seriously hating on this series?

teeny (teeny), Wednesday, 29 October 2003 14:37 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes. I quite enjoyed season 1 tho.

Enrique (Enrique), Wednesday, 29 October 2003 14:37 (twenty-two years ago)

All I heard about Season 2 gave the impression that it was the standard "Oh shit, what do we do? Twice as much of everything!"

But I've never seen it. And I sort of know I won't, because more than anything else, I can't kid myself what amount of time investment is required :)

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Wednesday, 29 October 2003 15:10 (twenty-two years ago)

Chase seems cool. (I love that he basically tells Jack to shoot up.) Hopefully having Kim in CTU avoids some of the far-fetched plot-lines.

bnw (bnw), Wednesday, 29 October 2003 15:13 (twenty-two years ago)

Hopefully Kim in CTU causes a cougar to appear in CTU!

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 29 October 2003 15:14 (twenty-two years ago)

I just could never get into 24 -- I suppose it is not ridiculous enough for me. Bring on the terrorist thundercats!

Nicolars (Nicole), Wednesday, 29 October 2003 15:15 (twenty-two years ago)

thing that i hope will happen

1) Emilio Estevez appears midway thru and partners Jack for a bit before doing the dirty on him

2) NANOBOTS

3) Kim ends up in prison again and this time witnesses full on forbidden love

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 29 October 2003 15:17 (twenty-two years ago)

I still love this series although I am sick to death of Kim; I can't believe she has a job in CTU now.

teeny (teeny), Wednesday, 29 October 2003 15:19 (twenty-two years ago)

oh it was SO on the cards tho

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 29 October 2003 15:22 (twenty-two years ago)

at the end of the first series you knew Kim would end up following her Dad's footsteps. her shooting of that dude in the last series was merely a case of dotting i's and t's

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 29 October 2003 15:23 (twenty-two years ago)

my god president palmer is sexy.

teeny (teeny), Wednesday, 29 October 2003 15:51 (twenty-two years ago)

kim is hotter than a cougar's lasagne

cinniblount (James Blount), Wednesday, 29 October 2003 16:28 (twenty-two years ago)

not as hot as the girl who blew up the plane and gave Palmer the plague

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 29 October 2003 16:35 (twenty-two years ago)

my wife was like "kim
has a high school diploma!
how'd she get that job?"

my answer had to
do with breasts and haircuts, and
was not accepted

Haikunym (Haikunym), Wednesday, 29 October 2003 16:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Your wife seems to blind her eyes to the sad reality of the world sometimes.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 29 October 2003 16:49 (twenty-two years ago)

DB Woodside is the shit

Andy K (Andy K), Wednesday, 29 October 2003 16:52 (twenty-two years ago)

ooh Mia Kirshner is too hot.

Chris V. (Chris V), Wednesday, 29 October 2003 16:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Is that the one who looks like she should be in Ladytron?

Andy K (Andy K), Wednesday, 29 October 2003 16:57 (twenty-two years ago)

"sad" reality?
"joyous" maybe, or "crucial".

I got Mia mixed up w/ Sarah Clarke

Andy K (Andy K), Wednesday, 29 October 2003 17:09 (twenty-two years ago)

DB Woodside is the shit

I forgot Principal Wood was going to be in this! He is dreamy.

Nicolars (Nicole), Wednesday, 29 October 2003 17:30 (twenty-two years ago)

*scratches head, checks around* Ah, should have guessed.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 29 October 2003 17:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Ok wait, I left the UK halfway thru the second series, and I snoozed on and off thru last night's episode on our crappy, fuzzy tv, but I didn't dream that Jack was a smackhead? How on earth did that happen? Does he tour with Black Dice for the last three episodes of season two or something??

adaml (adaml), Wednesday, 29 October 2003 17:39 (twenty-two years ago)

so that explains the rubbish support act when i saw black dice playing a few months ago.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Wednesday, 29 October 2003 17:48 (twenty-two years ago)

Hahaha! Twas Keifer and Donald Sutherland with a bunch of crazy FX pedals.

teeny (teeny), Wednesday, 29 October 2003 18:43 (twenty-two years ago)

Any tall black guy w/ shaved head and pretty eyes = me asking, "Is that Rupaul?"

Leee (Leee), Wednesday, 29 October 2003 21:18 (twenty-two years ago)

Season 2 started off horribly (awful dialogue, grievously stoopid characterizations and decisions) -- only plus side was seeing Kim's lovely gams. But round midseason, it picked up steam and rarely let up.

Leee (Leee), Wednesday, 29 October 2003 21:22 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm still holding out hope that Kim gets menaced by wildlife in the middle of CTU for no particular reason.

CHASE: Kim, look out! My pet falcon is on a rampage!
FALCON: *kreeeeee*
KIM: (trips) Ow, my ankle! HEEEEEEELP!

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 29 October 2003 21:25 (twenty-two years ago)

adam, he is on smack because he spent the last two years undercover with drug lords or something (this is set 3 years after season 2). It has lost the magic as well. Of course everyone who sits in Kim's seat has died so far so I give her seven hours before she's toast.

anthony kyle monday (akmonday), Wednesday, 29 October 2003 22:59 (twenty-two years ago)

i want more Neighbours guest stars. Mrs Mangel f'rinstance. or maybe Bouncer could menace Kim.

Ladies and gentleman, Jack Bauer, world's baddest mofo: "Shut up, stupid!"

Leee (Leee), Wednesday, 5 November 2003 06:07 (twenty-two years ago)

This series is boring me, frankly.

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Wednesday, 5 November 2003 06:25 (twenty-two years ago)

Why doesn't President Palmer just stay the fuck away from LA? It's not exactly been a fun holiday destination for him.

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Wednesday, 5 November 2003 06:26 (twenty-two years ago)

Don't make me put you over my knee.

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Wednesday, 5 November 2003 06:35 (twenty-two years ago)

two weeks pass...
Why doesn't anyone say it? This is boring and flat and shameless and maybe it wasn't that good of an idea in the first place...

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Thursday, 20 November 2003 19:13 (twenty-two years ago)

What day is The O.C. on?

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Thursday, 20 November 2003 19:16 (twenty-two years ago)

I missed this week, but I love the fact that they shot Tony in the neck!

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 20 November 2003 19:17 (twenty-two years ago)

But they keep saying "in the neck", "in the neck", like we didn't realize already.

Tony is the only 24 character I would buy a drink for.

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Thursday, 20 November 2003 19:19 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't really get Jack's plan at all. How is a prison break caused by a rogue CTU agent not negotiating with terrorists? Oh well, I guess "CTU vs Jack" one more time is pretty fun.

bnw (bnw), Thursday, 20 November 2003 19:26 (twenty-two years ago)

It is totally contrived. These people think we're stupid.

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Thursday, 20 November 2003 19:30 (twenty-two years ago)

prison riots are exciting though!

teeny (teeny), Thursday, 20 November 2003 19:39 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes, 24 is awful this season -- it usually takes a least eight or nine episodes to jump, this time it was from the startin' whistle.

Chuck Tatum (Chuck Tatum), Thursday, 20 November 2003 20:14 (twenty-two years ago)

the OC is on wednesday nights!

anthony kyle monday (akmonday), Thursday, 20 November 2003 20:14 (twenty-two years ago)

Whoops - I was engrossed in the Victoria's Secret fashion show.

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Thursday, 20 November 2003 20:15 (twenty-two years ago)

24 this season has not been interesting until the last five minutes of every episode. They should have killed tony outright.

anthony kyle monday (akmonday), Thursday, 20 November 2003 20:16 (twenty-two years ago)

No!

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Thursday, 20 November 2003 20:16 (twenty-two years ago)

I prefer that show where Ted Bundy is a gritty LA detective.

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Thursday, 20 November 2003 20:17 (twenty-two years ago)

oops...Al Bundy, I mean! :)

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Thursday, 20 November 2003 20:18 (twenty-two years ago)

Chuck Tatum (Chuck Tatum), Thursday, 20 November 2003 20:27 (twenty-two years ago)

it usually takes a least eight or nine episodes to jump

Actually last season started off terribly for me, then from the nuke-goes-off episode it regained its compellingness. I expect this season to be more or less the same.

Leee Majors (Leee), Thursday, 20 November 2003 20:37 (twenty-two years ago)

three months pass...
According to Imdb, Kirsten Dunst is signed up for this season. Hottness ensues!

O.Leee.B. (Leee), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 08:01 (twenty-two years ago)

let's talk about whatshername - Chloe? she's a fucking riot! she was the one who said "Tony was shot...in the neck" - I was hoping she'd then say "with a bullet...FROM A GUN" - and she's really ratty and keeps pouting "you don't have to yell!" whenever someone asks her to retrive a file, how the hell did she end up working there?

adam's scathing of this series is harsh really. i don't structure my life around it as i did the last two series at times but it's still muy entertainos

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 14:31 (twenty-two years ago)

the cliffhangers have been a bit poor so far i will admit, but i live in hope of EMILIO

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 14:32 (twenty-two years ago)

when is this going to be on again? It's been off the air for like three weeks.

anthony kyle monday (akmonday), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 17:52 (twenty-two years ago)

It's about fucking time he shot Nina. Now if someone would just shoot Kim & Sherry Palmer.

dave225 (Dave225), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 17:58 (twenty-two years ago)

Emilio Estevez?? He's already had his go on the series (and died).

O.Leee.B. (Leee), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 19:32 (twenty-two years ago)

STOP SPOILING IT FOR PEOPLE IN THE UK!!!
(yes I know I'm shouting, but, you ruined Emilio's bit for me)

ailsa (ailsa), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 19:34 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh wait hahaa I was thinking Lou Diamond Phillips. Damn that Young Guns connection!

O.Leee.B. (Leee), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 19:43 (twenty-two years ago)

i would settle for a cameo by Judge Reynhold, all things considered

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 20:03 (twenty-two years ago)

When did Dick Tremayne become a bad guy!?!

Vitamin Leee (Leee), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 05:35 (twenty-one years ago)

two weeks pass...
I think the scheduling this week actually helped '24', what with the anticipation and all that. The last 20 minutes of that episode was absolute killer.

James Mitchell (James Mitchell), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 01:50 (twenty-one years ago)

except that chapelle seemed kind of fake and unbelievable when he wasn't being all badass and smarmy.

anthony kyle monday (akmonday), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 02:48 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm willing to overlook inconsistent characterization for the execution-style killing by a protagonist.

Leee O'Gaddy (Leee), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 03:27 (twenty-one years ago)

I wish it would have been someone we felt more of a connection to and not a character we already hated. What if it had been Tony?

anthony kyle monday (akmonday), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 03:43 (twenty-one years ago)

Killing Tony would've been equally pleasing, since all he does nowadays is lower his face and look up with his mouth slightly hanging open. It's not important whether I liked Chappelle (or Geo. Mason for that matter), but that the hero would kill off a peripheral character is nutso to me.

Leee O'Gaddy (Leee), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 03:56 (twenty-one years ago)

D.B. Woodside always has the same expression as the dude in the Ludacris "Stand Up" video when Luda says "Tell your little friend he can quit mean muggin'." His character and demeanor are the most ruinous part of the show for me this year. Well, that and the whole "Gael is a bad guy...uh, no he's not" thing, that made no sense, why would he have had to tie up Kim, he could have just said "Tony our cover's blown let's fess up," they clearly changed their minds.

Begs2Differ (Begs2Differ), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 03:56 (twenty-one years ago)

But everyone wants to tie up Kim.

Leee O'Gaddy (Leee), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 04:00 (twenty-one years ago)

HOLY SHIT about time they knocked off $herry P@lmer!

of course it was two bullets to the gut, maybe she'll be okay, I mean Tony survived one to the neck...

DAMN this season is picking up steam.

Gear! (Gear!), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 06:09 (twenty-one years ago)

I applauded when Sherry got punched in the face and jumped up and started dancing when she got shot. I was actually shouting "SHOOT HER! SHOOT HER! PULL THE TRIGGER! DO IT! KILL HER!" at the television.

I can't think of the last time I hated a fictional character that much.

VengaDan Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 12:44 (twenty-one years ago)

yeah, the third season got better as it went along I thought. The President's story was still pretty silly though.

bnw (bnw), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 13:45 (twenty-one years ago)

does anyone else think this show borders on misogyny at times? or is it really just misanthropy? It's just that all the women are evil or stupid or helpless, and the few sensible and non-evil men are always landing into scrapes because of stupid/evil shit the women do. The whole bit about Sherry begging the president to marry her last night drove me nuts.

President Palmer is still the hottest fucking thing on two legs though.

teeny (teeny), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 13:50 (twenty-one years ago)

does anyone else think this show borders on misogyny at times? or is it really just misanthropy?

I haven't really noticed that, but then again I only watched the first 4-5 episodes and the last two.

VengaDan Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 13:52 (twenty-one years ago)

does anyone else think this show borders on misogyny at times? or is it really just misanthropy?

I thought Michelle would finally be the character to break that mold, but then, nope. Kidnapped in the stupidest way.

Vinnie (vprabhu), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 13:57 (twenty-one years ago)

I still can't get over that the Prez was Pedro Cerano in Major League.

And I definitely noticed it's evil woman fetish before. Add in the dreaded Kim and the girls just can't win. (But Michelle escaped her kidnappers! She still has my heart.)

bnw (bnw), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 13:59 (twenty-one years ago)

(Still if Tony got kidnapped and Michelle had to go all rogue, that woulda been hotttt.)

bnw (bnw), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 14:01 (twenty-one years ago)

Michelle was kicking some serious ass when she first went into the Chandler Plaza Hotel. I don't really think it's misogyny since everyone on that show is fucked up or seems to have ulterior motives, except for Kim. Thank god they put her in the office this year, it focuses the show a lot more.

Gear! (Gear!), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 15:39 (twenty-one years ago)

But is there a cougar or a Dillon brother with her in the office?

David R. (popshots75`), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 15:45 (twenty-one years ago)

no but this season Daniel Baldwin plays a shifty janitor who accidentally locked her in a broom closet from 3pm to 1am

Gear! (Gear!), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 15:50 (twenty-one years ago)

Scandalous!

David R. (popshots75`), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 15:57 (twenty-one years ago)

It's about fucking time he shot Nina. Now if someone would just shoot Kim & Sherry Palmer.

Dreams/Can come true

bnw hottly otm

Leeefuse 73 (Leee), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 18:51 (twenty-one years ago)

I almost thought that Ben Stiller was one of the guys holding back Saunders when they took his daughter to the hotel, but then realised if it had been Ben Stiller, I would have read about it on some fan site or on some crappy entertainment news site.

James Mitchell (James Mitchell), Thursday, 20 May 2004 02:02 (twenty-one years ago)

Am I still the only one who thinks that Saunders is Dick Tremayne?

Leeefuse 73 (Leee), Thursday, 20 May 2004 03:34 (twenty-one years ago)

Now that that bit of the storyline is over, why didn't prez Palmer just go back to the police and say, "ya know what? - I have had a lot on my mind, what with there being a national crisis and all .. and I was mistaken about the time you were referring to. I can't account for Sherry's whereabouts from 2-3 (or whenever..) She was here most of the night though." .. let the police investigation continue & deny any involvement with Sherry. .. That, or have her committed as unstable and delusional, using "presidential powers" ..

That president storyline was just so damn implausible ...

dave225 (Dave225), Thursday, 20 May 2004 10:49 (twenty-one years ago)

teeny makes a good point -- while the majority of the characters are to varying degrees shady, women have been far higher profile baddies. All the moles have been women (this season's would be mole was a guy, and even he turned out to be good), Sherry's keeps trying to muck up POTUS' plans to prove her worth and in some way remarry him.

And there haven't been any guys getting amnesia or flirting with militia cougar types.

Leeefuse 73 (Leee), Thursday, 20 May 2004 20:58 (twenty-one years ago)

that was totally anticlimactic. they threw way too much stuff in one hour and missed a ton of shit. didn't the virus leak from the hotel a few hours ago? shouldn't thousands of people probably be dying anyway? nice but obvious tying-off parallel w/ chase and jack, but I was really hoping, up until the final two seconds, that Jack was going off to the car to shoot up.

they cleaned house this season though, apparently almost no-one is being brought back next season (even Michelle, which fucking sucks) on a regular basis. sloppy and disatisfying ending aside, they turned the show around about halfway through the season (as soon as the killed Nina). Maybe fresh blood (ie: no Palmer borefests) is necessary next year.

kyle (akmonday), Wednesday, 26 May 2004 05:47 (twenty-one years ago)

The heroin was no more than the convenient plot device in place of introspective character development, though I did entertain thoughts that Jack was about to drive to a Methadone clinic.

I didn't think it was anticlimactic at all, I was gripping the remote when Chase was fighting Rabens and then when Jack started making eyes at the ax.

The last scene was nice though. One of those appropriately meta things.

Leee's a Simpson (Leee), Wednesday, 26 May 2004 06:19 (twenty-one years ago)

okay, it wasn't really anticlimactic, but it seemed overly rushed and cluttered and nothing was really lingered on for as long as it should have been. really, it was two hours worth of stuff stuck into one hour and it suffered.

kyle (akmonday), Wednesday, 26 May 2004 06:23 (twenty-one years ago)

You mean how the virus plot swelled up to push out everything else? Need a way to milk more suspense from Saunders? Have Gael's wife kill him before he can ID Rabens. Have to finish out the POTUS storyline? Make him drop out of the race. Need to have Tony be useful? Get Michelle to pull him in for one more go. (How nice of him not to haggle to try and get his sentence reduced/a full pardon.)

Leee's a Simpson (Leee), Wednesday, 26 May 2004 06:46 (twenty-one years ago)

way disappointed that pres palmer is dropping out, I don't really think he'll do it and maybe it'll be part of the plot next season.

teeny (teeny), Wednesday, 26 May 2004 11:13 (twenty-one years ago)

It was okay. Jack's first glances at the axe were probably the highlight. I kind of liked how instead of a real cliffhanger, we got Jack finally breaking down (because of what he did or because of what he will do?).

bnw read my trenchant analysis on my blog!

Leee's a Simpson (Leee), Thursday, 27 May 2004 21:50 (twenty-one years ago)

I figured that this ending was sort of the culmination of the first three seasons, with little being left over for next year (which makes sense, with apparently Michelle, Tony, Chase, and perhaps Kim having at the most reduced roles next season). So Jack breaking down seems to be him finally letting it all out, maybe his wife's death, daughter moving on, killing Nina, and everything he did that day. Let's not forget Claudia getting killed! He had that past with her.

Gear! (Gear!), Thursday, 27 May 2004 22:01 (twenty-one years ago)

Gear, you are a beautiful mang and I love you, but you are wrong.

From my bloggo: "Contrasted against Chase's claim that he and Kim are going to be more grounded, the scene underscores Jack's emotionally barren life, especially since Jack answers the call to return to CTU work. Things will always be the same for him, but his immovable gravity drastically throws off the orbits of everyone around him. (And if reports are true that quite a number of the actors won't be returning next year (and it's going to be nearly a full year too!) -- things are going to remain the same for Kief, but not for the rest of the cast -- then the scene also serves as a goodbye to them.)"

I still think when Jack told Kim "he had some things to care of" being coupled with his breakdown might have meant whatever he has to deal with next season is shit he cannot come back from. They certainly left it wide open, which was smart.

bnw (bnw), Friday, 28 May 2004 01:09 (twenty-one years ago)

After that ending, next season has to begin at 1:01PM.

Well, Sky certainly ballsed-up the fanbase for this show...

Thanks, Rupert.

Have finally got round to reading this after having avoided it for spoilers for ages.

So Jack breaking down seems to be him finally letting it all out, maybe his wife's death, daughter moving on, killing Nina, and everything he did that day. Let's not forget Claudia getting killed! He had that past with her.

Also, don't forget, Kate Warner (was that her name? Blonde bird from series two?) had just been arranging to come round and collect her things/finally end their relationship at the beginning of the first episode.

I also wondered about the virus being out anyway - wasn't that how Adam's sister got it?

Other inconsistency that really bugged me was the Chase/Kim relationship. At the start of the run he didn't even want to go public with their relationship and seemed shit scared that people would know that he was involved with the cougar-menacer when it seemed all he wanted was to get out of it, then suddenly the whole dynamic changed and it was all lovey-dovey like she was all that ever mattered to him.

What happened to Chase's baby, by the way? Or was that another crap plot device like Jack's heroin dependency, to get discarded once it had served the purpose of, er, something. Considered someone had spotted the signs of withdrawal in Jack HOURS (lots of them) before the end of the series, he managed quite a lot (going to Mexico, shooting ex-lover, capturing baddies, saving the world, being the Prez's best friend) without the need to take any. Maybe they should presribe an action-packed job rather than methadone.

And why is Stevem the only one showing any love for Chloe? She is the business. And probably the only exception to the all-women-are-stupid/weak/useless rule mentioned above.

Also, how the fuck are Palmer and Wayne going to get out of involvement in Sherry and Julia's deaths? The Prez phoned his kids, presumably to tell them their mother was dead as soon as Wayne told him. Surely that kind of screams "uh-huh, one of us was there when she died which is how I know about it before the police did". The court case for that one would be a nice spin-off series.

tvguide reported a few weeks ago that EVERYONE except for Keifer Sutherland is out for next season, with only a slight chance that some will make brief appearances. That's everyone on the cast. I think that kind of sucks, because I'd at least like to see Michelle have a costarring role.

kyle (akmonday), Saturday, 24 July 2004 18:15 (twenty-one years ago)

I am not yet prepared to let go of Michelle Dessler. She must return!

Gear! (Gear!), Saturday, 24 July 2004 18:17 (twenty-one years ago)

No! Chloe must stay! She is a role model for disillusioned people who are smarter than their jobs, and I wuv her.

ailsa (ailsa), Saturday, 24 July 2004 19:42 (twenty-one years ago)

what about my sex president?

teeny (teeny), Saturday, 24 July 2004 21:18 (twenty-one years ago)

I always liked her "forget your sister and do your job, Adam" bit at the end of the season.

Gear! (Gear!), Saturday, 24 July 2004 21:32 (twenty-one years ago)

With regard to Michelle, it's fairly unlikely that she will reappear as Reiko Aylesworth has signed up for the next series of CSI.

There are rumours that Bauer will leave CTU and be working for the Department of Defence instead, hence why no-one else will be around. And that Keeler will be the President.

Wait a minute. No Kim?!?!!?!

ailsa (ailsa), Sunday, 25 July 2004 11:07 (twenty-one years ago)

Also: season four will be the last season. Probably a good thing.

James Mitchell (James Mitchell), Sunday, 25 July 2004 11:35 (twenty-one years ago)

who is Keeler?

kyle (akmonday), Sunday, 25 July 2004 13:51 (twenty-one years ago)

oh that guy, never mind.

Reiko Aylesworth on CSI? I don't want to have to watch CSI!!!!

I'm in the process of watching this series this week, I love it!

I have this burning desire to pretend that everyone in my office is working in the CTU.

"I think we should request that Mark installs this software"
"Why? I thought John did that sort of thing"
"Yes, but I just don't trust him..."
