Dumb question, but do I need to bring my passport? I never had a passport when I visited Canada as a kid, but the most recent time was in 1994 -- so it wouldn't surprised me if they'd changed the rules.

(which is in TO, i'll be away for a couple days while you're here. but i will see about other cool stuff going on!)

Sorry, all I do with my spare time is go to shows, garden and ride my bike so I can't really suggest anything non-music related. All the standard Montreal tourist stuff is fairly decent though - old port, biodome, botanical gardens, the mountain, ogling, being hungover etc.

I don't think I'm going to any of these shows, but surely they're happening nonetheless.

i got all overwhelmed by transcendental patti smith show - made me spontaneously break into tears even. true it has been a hectic week but whoa. it was freakin great and inspiring and life-affirming.
but yeah couldn't make it to reggae after that. us girls managed to make it to my place, smoke a bowl, read some magazines and chat. lol.

o man jamaica2tdizzy was soooooo sooooooo good. fuck those guys still got it. had the whole room dancing, singing in the crowd, just fuckin amazing vibes all over. then went straight down to bun b who was great. then weird nxne party with lots of free food and booze. then home. then sleep. then i woke up had breakfast bought a hoodie.

also today is the day when we're all supposed to wear red to support burma protests and the only red thing i have for this kind of in-btwn weather is my white mice t-shirt. which i think is probably the best kind of red thing to wear today and to shows and whatever even if it wasn't a peace-initiative red-wearing day.

thanks tza for encouraging me to go to Aa show even though Aa didn't come on until like 11:45! it was supposed to be an 'early show' and that happened yeah but with the other bands and then there was a long break b/c Aa got lost in the wilds of NY i guess haha. they were great though, whoa. as was Health, yip yip and, believe it, aids wolf. i don't care what anyone says about them; aids wolf ruled tonight. all in all, totally good bunch of bands. then i made it to black mountain just in time and it was sweet.
i had beer for dinner. uh.
i had a bagel 10 min ago though.

hung out at home till 11pm then went to fred wesley house party (awesome fun) then to dj/rupture, total drunk dance party, then down to the megas0id loft party. left around 4am before i could do anything id regret. wandered streets of old mtl looking for bank machine. fell asleep in cab on way home. i cant feel my face.

sorry I didn't whatever, but i had lots and lots of nothing to do. mmmmmmmmmmmmontreal. fuck man, vancouver seemed SO ugly and awful on Sunday and I didn't wanna be here (and kinda still don't).
yeah, October in Mtl, fucking gorgeous. mostly i ate and ate and ate and drank allonges (cuz I don't know how to order one in English, and so it had been NINE YEARS) and walked forever (skytrain>metro, sorry). also, there's a biodome AND a biosphere, and I went to the one W/O penguins, which I was TOTALLY CHEESED OFF ABOUT.
