Sarah (starry), Monday, 17 November 2003 14:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Seems fair.

Pete (Pete), Monday, 17 November 2003 14:47 (twenty-two years ago)

(dude!)

Pete (Pete), Monday, 17 November 2003 14:47 (twenty-two years ago)

Next Tuesday? Oh, go on then...

(plus I didn't speak properly to Geeta last time she was here and feel v guilty about it)

Marcello Carlin, Monday, 17 November 2003 14:48 (twenty-two years ago)

Why not? Be nice to see you Geeta.

Anna (Anna), Monday, 17 November 2003 14:49 (twenty-two years ago)

(dude!)

Anna (Anna), Monday, 17 November 2003 14:49 (twenty-two years ago)

(dude!)

Ricardo (RickyT), Monday, 17 November 2003 14:50 (twenty-two years ago)

Excellent!

(Where's it gonna be, dude?)

Citizen Kate (kate), Monday, 17 November 2003 14:50 (twenty-two years ago)

Oooh, go on then.

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Monday, 17 November 2003 14:51 (twenty-two years ago)

Can I bring A STRANGER?

Mandee (Jerrynipper), Monday, 17 November 2003 14:53 (twenty-two years ago)

*writes in big book w.space-age stylus*
"a call has been made for collective display of quasi-human 'cheer' as the puny ones term it - how provoking"
*crushes undeserving planetary system in spasm of saurine jealousy*

Orm Dawnie Prime (mark s), Monday, 17 November 2003 14:54 (twenty-two years ago)

haven't you finished that book yet?

Marcello Carlin, Monday, 17 November 2003 14:54 (twenty-two years ago)

There must be a pub called "The Free World", no? (dude)

Markelby (Mark C), Monday, 17 November 2003 14:56 (twenty-two years ago)

There's the World's End (har har)!

Sarah (starry), Monday, 17 November 2003 14:58 (twenty-two years ago)

I'll be there. I mean at the FAP, not the world's end.

Markelby (Mark C), Monday, 17 November 2003 15:05 (twenty-two years ago)

totally there dude

stevem (blueski), Monday, 17 November 2003 15:07 (twenty-two years ago)

ignore the inner Elder Worm, it's not the boss of me

bolshy shell-self s (a la TOTAL RECALL) (mark s), Monday, 17 November 2003 15:09 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm up for this (I just want to post to this thread so I can say 'dude')(dude)

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 17 November 2003 15:11 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't want to miss the night of the living dude

Andrew L (Andrew L), Monday, 17 November 2003 15:15 (twenty-two years ago)

oh, good grief (dude)...

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Monday, 17 November 2003 15:26 (twenty-two years ago)

yay dude!

I'll be a bit late though, got to meet our new trustees, show them around, and generally try and convince them we're brilliant and know what we're doing.

Any special requests as to where?

Vicky (Vicky), Monday, 17 November 2003 16:10 (twenty-two years ago)

space!

mark s (mark s), Monday, 17 November 2003 16:16 (twenty-two years ago)

this might be a little random, but depending on how big it'll be, you guys are welcome to crash my party thingy that i'm having that night. i'm organising a thanksgiving party with a theme of 'i'm thankful that this time next year, bush will be a lame duck', and we have a private room at the harrow pub off fleet street. that way geeta won't miss all the thanksgiving fun.

and there is a potluck theme of american food, so you could bring something over.

just a thought, won't be offended if you don't take me up on it. it's a nice pub and i've got it all set up. i have no idea how many people are coming. could be 3, could be 100. so i figure a few people from ILE couldn't hurt!

colette (a2lette), Monday, 17 November 2003 16:18 (twenty-two years ago)

sounds really good actually colette, i'm game if others are (baaa)

stevem (blueski), Monday, 17 November 2003 16:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh I like the Harrow! Have you booked the upstairs room, Colette? You do know that lots of FAPpers are barely housetrained?

Tim (Tim), Monday, 17 November 2003 16:23 (twenty-two years ago)

What a great offer colette!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 17 November 2003 16:24 (twenty-two years ago)

No, sorry, don't fancy going to an FAP shoehorned into someone else's meet-up with a bunch of strangers.

Marcello Carlin, Monday, 17 November 2003 16:29 (twenty-two years ago)

That sounds like a great idea Colette!

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Monday, 17 November 2003 16:31 (twenty-two years ago)

cool, thanks for the invite colette! i might be a little disoriented at a really huge party (i'm getting into london that morning!) perhaps the fap could be somewhere nearby and if people want they can go to it later on?

geeta (geeta), Monday, 17 November 2003 16:34 (twenty-two years ago)

Grebt plan, but I feel honour bound to direct you to Tim's last sentence.

Ricardo (RickyT), Monday, 17 November 2003 16:34 (twenty-two years ago)

This idea r0x0r. I'm sure some mad individual is going to float an absurd theory about the centre of London any minute now, but I'll try and ignore it.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 17 November 2003 16:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Well assuming that Colette has booked the top room of the Harrow rather than the whole place, there is a perfectly acceptable boozer on the ground floor which can quite easily act as a venue if things upstairs were to gett to busy (or otherwise uncomfortable).

There's a very pleasant little snug too, but you'd be lucky to snag it.

Tim (Tim), Monday, 17 November 2003 16:37 (twenty-two years ago)

Colette, that sounds great, and very kind of you. I'm up for that, and also elsewhere, though I don't really think splitting the group is a good idea.

x-post - Tim has the solution! Huzzah!

Markelby (Mark C), Monday, 17 November 2003 16:38 (twenty-two years ago)

perfect (leers menacingly at 'Opkins)

stevem (blueski), Monday, 17 November 2003 16:39 (twenty-two years ago)

Watch out Stevem, 'Opkins 'as very big 'ands.

Sarah (starry), Monday, 17 November 2003 16:43 (twenty-two years ago)

he's a tough fella.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Monday, 17 November 2003 17:16 (twenty-two years ago)

Nah, he's a pussy

Pete (Pete), Monday, 17 November 2003 17:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Cat.

For some reason I pressed enter too early. Sorry Tim.

Pete (Pete), Monday, 17 November 2003 17:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Eek, I'd like to come to this one. But, I think that due to family stuff I probably won't be able to make it on the 25th.

jel -- (jel), Monday, 17 November 2003 17:37 (twenty-two years ago)

Gunmakers, Eyre St Hill?

Ed (dali), Monday, 17 November 2003 18:26 (twenty-two years ago)

you again!

charltonlido (gareth), Monday, 17 November 2003 19:05 (twenty-two years ago)

Since the chances of my moving house on that day are diminishing rapidly, I should be able to make this. Unless I am devastated by the wholething falling through...

Obviously somewhere more central would be better, but I can travel out this far easily enough.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Monday, 17 November 2003 21:15 (twenty-two years ago)

It gets four pint glasses in fap.com and is very good, plenty of room.

Ed (dali), Monday, 17 November 2003 21:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Ed, pay attention - the venue has been selected and agreed before you made your suggestion!

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Monday, 17 November 2003 22:14 (twenty-two years ago)

apologies

Ed (dali), Monday, 17 November 2003 22:29 (twenty-two years ago)

Argh! This is the 2nd FAP I am going to miss during my week in the UK.

Carey (Carey), Monday, 17 November 2003 23:33 (twenty-two years ago)

> i'm going to be in london for a few days

cool. we'll get the bulletproof curtains and warm up the helicopter...

andy

koogs (koogs), Tuesday, 18 November 2003 07:57 (twenty-two years ago)

and the gunmakers may get four pints, but it's one of FAPs (increasingly common) anomalies.

chris (chris), Tuesday, 18 November 2003 09:34 (twenty-two years ago)

The rating system on fancyapint makes no sense at all.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 18 November 2003 09:54 (twenty-two years ago)

Ed only picked it cos it was 2 minutes or less walk from his house shockah

stevem (blueski), Tuesday, 18 November 2003 09:59 (twenty-two years ago)

like no one has ever picked a pub because its close to their workplace.

Ed (dali), Tuesday, 18 November 2003 10:02 (twenty-two years ago)

its a nice pub though.

Ed (dali), Tuesday, 18 November 2003 10:02 (twenty-two years ago)

B-b-but Ed seeing as lots of people Work In Central London it makes sense to choose a place near where we work?

Although I do think this should be in the Red Cow.

Sarah (starry), Tuesday, 18 November 2003 10:09 (twenty-two years ago)

jus teasin Edwardo

stevem (blueski), Tuesday, 18 November 2003 10:13 (twenty-two years ago)

But then again there is the "pub straight from work" people and the mentalists who "go home" first contingent.

It is needless to say which side I am on.

Sarah (starry), Tuesday, 18 November 2003 10:17 (twenty-two years ago)

Well, if you insist on living in mentalist places like Sarf London, that yer own fault, missy! It's hard to NOT go to my home first to most pubmeet places.

Citizen Kate (kate), Tuesday, 18 November 2003 10:29 (twenty-two years ago)

You show a distressing lack of dedication to the boozer!

Sarah (starry), Tuesday, 18 November 2003 10:30 (twenty-two years ago)

The day the boozer has couches as comfy as my living room, and a nice hot shower then I will show dedication to it!

Citizen Kate (kate), Tuesday, 18 November 2003 10:32 (twenty-two years ago)

All I want to do after a shower is lie down somewhere hot, dry off and go to sleep. If I go home I find it very hard to get the motivation to go back to the outside world again :(

Sarah (starry), Tuesday, 18 November 2003 10:39 (twenty-two years ago)

well i hardly live central but i'd never go home and then go out again after work - crazy talk

stevem (blueski), Tuesday, 18 November 2003 10:40 (twenty-two years ago)

A bath has that effect on me, Starry. I'm psychologically conditioned to view a shower as a waker-upper. Plus, I'm usually stinky after work, and that makes me feel self conscious and anti-social. However, then again, pubs are so stinky with beer and cigarettes that I suppose it doesn't matter.

Citizen Kate (kate), Tuesday, 18 November 2003 10:41 (twenty-two years ago)

unless it was local to my area, or it was a Friday

stevem (blueski), Tuesday, 18 November 2003 10:41 (twenty-two years ago)

70% of the pubs we FAP at are local to my area. Do you see?

Citizen Kate (kate), Tuesday, 18 November 2003 10:42 (twenty-two years ago)

That's not my fault love!

Sarah (starry), Tuesday, 18 November 2003 10:43 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm hardly complaining!

Citizen Kate (kate), Tuesday, 18 November 2003 10:45 (twenty-two years ago)

Hem hem "Mrs Cranky and the Residents Association Horror" to thread :)

Sarah (starry), Tuesday, 18 November 2003 10:45 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm complaining about being called a mentalist for going home before going to the pub! I'm not complaining about living where I live! (Apart from the Association Of Crazy Old Ladies Who Put Tannin In Treats And Try To Fatten Us Up For Satan. Our building is very Rosemary's Baby!)

Citizen Kate (kate), Tuesday, 18 November 2003 10:47 (twenty-two years ago)

Are you, or have you ever been, a mentalist?

Mentalystfynder General (Tim), Tuesday, 18 November 2003 10:49 (twenty-two years ago)

Mmmm fattening. I had breakfast today. It wasn't very nice.

Sarah (starry), Tuesday, 18 November 2003 10:50 (twenty-two years ago)

She says, interestingly. Best go back to work eh!

Sarah (starry), Tuesday, 18 November 2003 10:50 (twenty-two years ago)

I mean Tannis Root. Tannin is in tea. THough that is involved quite frequently, too.

Citizen Kate (kate), Tuesday, 18 November 2003 10:52 (twenty-two years ago)

to answer the question, yeah, i've got the upstairs room(s). so overspill/people that don't like strangers are welcome to use the downstairs and come up to say hi, or however it works most easily...

colette (a2lette), Tuesday, 18 November 2003 12:08 (twenty-two years ago)

what pubs in london server badger?

charltonlido (gareth), Tuesday, 18 November 2003 18:50 (twenty-two years ago)

the beer or the mustelid?

Ricardo (RickyT), Tuesday, 18 November 2003 18:51 (twenty-two years ago)

the beer

charltonlido (gareth), Tuesday, 18 November 2003 19:22 (twenty-two years ago)

in what pubs must you badger to be served?

stevem (blueski), Tuesday, 18 November 2003 19:33 (twenty-two years ago)

apparently the old nick in clerkenwell serves badger, i have never been in though.

charltonlido (gareth), Tuesday, 18 November 2003 19:41 (twenty-two years ago)

That is so not clerkenwell. Not far though, Drop by and we'll go for one.

Ed (dali), Tuesday, 18 November 2003 19:45 (twenty-two years ago)

I was in a pub on Sunday that served Badger... HSA was eminently amused by it. I was drinking a Tiger and he was drinking a Badger, ha ha. It was on the canal in Mile End... The Palms! That was it.

It's nowhere near Clerkenwell, but you could get there via the canal!

Citizen Kate (kate), Wednesday, 19 November 2003 09:00 (twenty-two years ago)

I seem to remember drinking Badger at the Archery Tavern out Paddington / Queensway way, and in the Ship and Shovell in CHaring Cross. My memory is unreliable, mind.

Tim (Tim), Wednesday, 19 November 2003 09:13 (twenty-two years ago)

The Greasy Mule in Stepney does a fantastic roadkill steak.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 19 November 2003 10:20 (twenty-two years ago)

GREASY MULE?

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 19 November 2003 10:24 (twenty-two years ago)

cue jokes about rival pub 'The Well Oiled Ass'

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 19 November 2003 10:25 (twenty-two years ago)

I used to work for a company called Eurobadger. They were a telesales company with a sense of irony.

Markelby (Mark C), Wednesday, 19 November 2003 10:56 (twenty-two years ago)

I used to work for a temping agency called Beavers.

Madchen (Madchen), Wednesday, 19 November 2003 13:58 (twenty-two years ago)

was it a "temping agency"?

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Wednesday, 19 November 2003 18:41 (twenty-two years ago)

rock, so the harrow downstairs it is? so people can go upstairs and party if they wanna party, or they can stay downstairs and relax and drink and FAPize?

what's a good time for everyone? 6? 7?

geeta (geeta), Wednesday, 19 November 2003 19:50 (twenty-two years ago)

My move is certainly not happening that week, so I'll be there, and probably around 6pm.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Wednesday, 19 November 2003 21:08 (twenty-two years ago)

doesnt have to be clerkenwell by any means kate, (especially as i am now no longer there), any pub in london that serves it is good by me

charltonlido (gareth), Wednesday, 19 November 2003 21:14 (twenty-two years ago)

http://www.fancyapint.com/thepubs/pub578.htm

the harrow, oooh, beeeeeeeer graaavy...

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Thursday, 20 November 2003 10:00 (twenty-two years ago)

The worst thing about FAP.com is that they hardly ever mention the brewery, Pubco or otherwise that the Pub belongs to so there is no way of guessing what meme the pub falls into.

Ed (dali), Thursday, 20 November 2003 10:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Actually I went home before I went to the pub yesterday and it was grand.

Sarah (starry), Thursday, 20 November 2003 10:09 (twenty-two years ago)

Ed that's the best thing about fancyapint: it's not run by CAMRA bores. You can get a good enough idea of a pub by reading the description and looking at the picture.

Tim (Tim), Thursday, 20 November 2003 10:12 (twenty-two years ago)

I am a CAMRA bore and I want to know if I'm to end up drinking sock juice or not.

Ed (dali), Thursday, 20 November 2003 10:14 (twenty-two years ago)

you can't be in CAMRA - you're not beardy enough

chris (chris), Thursday, 20 November 2003 10:15 (twenty-two years ago)

plus i have never seen ed stick his finger in his ear, nor have i seen him walking down the road when a fair maiden he did espy, sweet of face and blessed with grace, he bade her both reply.

Marcello Carlin, Thursday, 20 November 2003 10:16 (twenty-two years ago)

The Harrow serves Pride and... oh something else. Much more importantly: it's quite a nice place to have a drink.

Shame you won't be coming, Marcello.

Tim (Tim), Thursday, 20 November 2003 10:18 (twenty-two years ago)

No, beard, no mebership card, but I do know the words to a least 20 olde englishe folke songes.

Ed (dali), Thursday, 20 November 2003 10:18 (twenty-two years ago)

you bluff old cove

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 20 November 2003 10:35 (twenty-two years ago)

aw marcello you should be there!

does 6.30pm or so sound good for people? i can't wait to see you all!

(dude!)

geeta (geeta), Friday, 21 November 2003 05:57 (twenty-two years ago)

good for me, we are talking about the Harrow just off Fleet street, right?

Ed (dali), Friday, 21 November 2003 09:43 (twenty-two years ago)

I'll be there but not sure when as I've got a meeting in Manchester on Tuesday, but hey, people get another chance to gawk at me in a suit

chris (chris), Friday, 21 November 2003 09:46 (twenty-two years ago)

I'll try to be there, and HSA will probably come with him, because he's decided he likes FAPs after hour discussions of art with Tim and physics with RickyT. So, Geeta, he'll expect explanations of rocket science and brain surgery from you! ;-)

Citizen Kate (kate), Friday, 21 November 2003 09:48 (twenty-two years ago)

I'll be there by 6, I work very near there (in fact from my old desk I could see the harrow's roof).

Kate are you referring to yourself as 'him'?

Tim (Tim), Friday, 21 November 2003 09:58 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm tired and my back hurts from marching, leave my grammar alone!

Citizen Kate (kate), Friday, 21 November 2003 09:59 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah sorry for the pedantry.

Tim (Tim), Friday, 21 November 2003 10:00 (twenty-two years ago)

i'll be my usually early self...

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Friday, 21 November 2003 11:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Heh. I was far too drunk to be discussing physics at the last FAP and fear I confused more than I clarified when talking to HSA.

Ricardo (RickyT), Friday, 21 November 2003 11:29 (twenty-two years ago)

HSA really enjoyed the conversation, though!

(I am not drunk! I am merely being affected by the gravitational fields of string theory! In the fourth dimension, I am walking a perfectly straight line!)

Citizen Kate (kate), Friday, 21 November 2003 11:31 (twenty-two years ago)

I will be late cos of SKOOL but will be there. Pop!

Pete (Pete), Friday, 21 November 2003 11:32 (twenty-two years ago)

just to make it easier to find: the harrow is at 22 Whitefriars Street, EC4Y 8JJ. closest tube is Blackfriars. whitefriars is just off fleet street near the cheshire cheese.

the party part (as mentioned earlier) will be upstairs, which is actually kind of confusing to find. you go up the stairs, outside into the alley, in the next door and up a load more stairs. it's weird to me that you have to go outside to get upstairs, but i'm not complaining...

colette (a2lette), Friday, 21 November 2003 11:45 (twenty-two years ago)

Excellent! (I can vouch for Colette's excellence, having met her yesterday at the march!) ::waves::

Citizen Kate (kate), Friday, 21 November 2003 11:49 (twenty-two years ago)

seconded

Ed (dali), Friday, 21 November 2003 11:54 (twenty-two years ago)

And here's me with a job interview in Blackfriars that very afternoon. I will be doing a Skidmore and turning up ludicrously early in a suit, then.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 21 November 2003 12:04 (twenty-two years ago)

Ha ha, MattDC in a suit, this I'd like to see!

Citizen Kate (kate), Friday, 21 November 2003 12:05 (twenty-two years ago)

i think we should all wear suits

stevem (blueski), Friday, 21 November 2003 12:05 (twenty-two years ago)

OK, maybe I'll wear my suit then and really frighten you all!

Citizen Kate (kate), Friday, 21 November 2003 12:06 (twenty-two years ago)

(My boss and my colleagues will probably wonder why I am wearing a suit and ask questions, but hey.)

Citizen Kate (kate), Friday, 21 November 2003 12:06 (twenty-two years ago)

Pah. I should wear a suit, then you shall know the meaning of fear.

Ed (dali), Friday, 21 November 2003 12:06 (twenty-two years ago)

come on then, lapel showdown

stevem (blueski), Friday, 21 November 2003 12:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes, Ed! Yes!

It shall be Random Suits For Geeta FAP!

(Or maybe we shouldn't tell her that we're doing it, hope she doesn't read this thread again between then and now, and watch her be mystified!)

Citizen Kate (kate), Friday, 21 November 2003 12:08 (twenty-two years ago)

"aw marcello you should be there."

yeah, i'm sorry geeta, but we're moving house next weekend and i really need to get on with packing everything up, etc. in any case, given recent heated debates on this board, i'm not sure it's a wise thing for me to be in the same room as kate at the moment.

Marcello Carlin, Friday, 21 November 2003 12:14 (twenty-two years ago)

I'll be hoping to look smart, maybe even wearing a suit, in honour of our new trustees, and will also have had free booze, along with canapes, before turning up.

Vicky (Vicky), Friday, 21 November 2003 12:18 (twenty-two years ago)

i won't be wearing a suit, but i'll probably be dressed up and in 'political mode', which can be a bit odd i'm sure, as kate and suzy and ed can vouch for from yesterday. i'm excited now that i've met all of them yesterday-- thanks for letting me march with you!

colette (a2lette), Friday, 21 November 2003 12:25 (twenty-two years ago)

I will be scruffy as sin.

Pete (Pete), Friday, 21 November 2003 12:26 (twenty-two years ago)

i thought we were marching with you, you had a flag and everything ;-)

Ed (dali), Friday, 21 November 2003 12:26 (twenty-two years ago)

I'll be hoping to look smart, maybe even wearing a suit, in honour of our new trustees, and will also have had free booze, along with canapes, before turning up.

oh crikey, I remember the last time this happened

chris (chris), Friday, 21 November 2003 12:58 (twenty-two years ago)

chris you were in my dream last night....that's what you get for imagining me i guess

stevem (blueski), Friday, 21 November 2003 13:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh my god I had a dream about Chris last night as well.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 21 November 2003 13:01 (twenty-two years ago)

and you fell out of bed how many times?

chris (chris), Friday, 21 November 2003 13:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Well, it was actually that myself and Chris and Tim and Dave B and someone who doesn't exist all lived in a huge mansion together and did nothing but watch football all day. Which would probably be the case if such an eventuality ever occurred.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 21 November 2003 13:02 (twenty-two years ago)

I lived that life for three years

chris (chris), Friday, 21 November 2003 13:03 (twenty-two years ago)

in my dream Chris and I were outside a pub (i think other ILXors were inside) and talking about going to New York! then he grabbed me in a headlock. it's a siiiiign...

stevem (blueski), Friday, 21 November 2003 13:09 (twenty-two years ago)

and we do need to talk about that Steve on Tuesday

chris (chris), Friday, 21 November 2003 13:10 (twenty-two years ago)

ok, i shall bring a mask and some salt

stevem (blueski), Friday, 21 November 2003 13:12 (twenty-two years ago)

oh crikey, I remember the last time this happened

But this time I've got to be on my best behaviour in front of the trustees, and there probably won't be any bubbly, and I won't have to steel myself for a pub comedy evening together with meeting lots of your friends for the first time.

Vicky (Vicky), Friday, 21 November 2003 13:17 (twenty-two years ago)

Bump! It's tomorrow. Are you all excited?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 24 November 2003 12:39 (twenty-two years ago)

ok, i shall bring a mask and some salt

http://bitchcakes.topcities.com/garethfap/phoneconfusion.jpg

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 24 November 2003 12:40 (twenty-two years ago)

i've since decided gareth's expression there is not so much 'whut's a phurn?!' but more of a distinctly unimpressed 'phurn? pah, we 'ave them back 'ome too, big deal, new york is for shit'

stevem (blueski), Monday, 24 November 2003 12:43 (twenty-two years ago)

Will this pub be showing Celtic v Bayern Munich?

Dave B (daveb), Monday, 24 November 2003 12:45 (twenty-two years ago)

http://www.hoteljobs2000.ch/gfx/betriebe/brownpalace_logo.jpg

I am hoping to pay a visit to Gareth's spiritual home this Xmas.

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Monday, 24 November 2003 12:45 (twenty-two years ago)

i can't recall seeing any tvs there, and it doesn't really seem the kind of place that'll have sports on, but it could be that i've not noticed.

colette (a2lette), Monday, 24 November 2003 13:07 (twenty-two years ago)

d'oh!

Vicky is Uber keen to see that game - obviously

chris (chris), Monday, 24 November 2003 13:09 (twenty-two years ago)

bring a little radio (no picture will add much drama) then go home and watch the taped highlights

stevem (blueski), Monday, 24 November 2003 13:26 (twenty-two years ago)

I am not allowed to watch Scottish football any more after the SE London FAP where the sixth goal was greeted by a very loud "ha ha!", only for Tim Hopkins to point out the very hard-looking bloke in a Scotland shirt staring at me.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 24 November 2003 13:31 (twenty-two years ago)

i also don't recall seing any 'hard looking blokes', mostly city guys. i'm sure we can take them. bring the radio.

colette (a2lette), Monday, 24 November 2003 13:32 (twenty-two years ago)

there was a drunken Scot in the toilets at Foundry on Saturday ranting about how 'we'll never let England win the World Cup again' - i think he confused 'let' with 'have any control over whether'

stevem (blueski), Monday, 24 November 2003 13:45 (twenty-two years ago)

I suspect few pubs will be showing the Celtic game - an English team will always take priority. You may need to find either a Scottish pub or somewhere that shows different games on different screens, if such exist.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Monday, 24 November 2003 14:12 (twenty-two years ago)

ooh! as a tagalong to the 'thanksgiving food' thread, thought i should note one thing. the manager of the harrow is being really nice and letting us use the upstairs room for free AND bring food into her pub.

two things to know related to this: the food that we're bringing should really only be eaten upstairs, so that the other customers don't get weird and jealous of our delicious gourmet experience. there's 2 rooms upstairs, so if ILE people want to do their own thing in the corner while eating, then go downstairs, that's cool, we just need to keep the food upstairs.

also, tell the bartenders that you're there for the party! i think they normally do very little business on a tuesday night, so the manager is bound to be happy when she hears that we're bringing in lots of people for drinks, and will let us use it again for free (including events sans political slant, if people like the venue and want me to set it up in the future)

woo! i'm excited! now i just have to cook. and bake. i'm scared.

colette (a2lette), Monday, 24 November 2003 15:37 (twenty-two years ago)

I think it's best all round if I don't cook anything. I will pop down the supermarket if I remember!

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Monday, 24 November 2003 18:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Fancy a pint?

Tico Tico (Tico Tico), Tuesday, 25 November 2003 10:11 (twenty-two years ago)

dude!

mark s (mark s), Tuesday, 25 November 2003 10:30 (twenty-two years ago)

What are the chances of a special appearance by Dave Q, I wonder?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 25 November 2003 10:32 (twenty-two years ago)

(Dude!)

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 25 November 2003 10:32 (twenty-two years ago)

so, what time are people going to be there from? 6?

toby (tsg20), Tuesday, 25 November 2003 12:10 (twenty-two years ago)

Probably later than that for me as am going to the shopses first.

Sarah (starry), Tuesday, 25 November 2003 12:17 (twenty-two years ago)

I am also going to shops first, though probably different ones from Sarah, and I expect to be there at around 6pm. I think Matt and Carsmile may be earlier than that, from what they said up above. Maybe Vicky too, since it's pretty convenient for her, but she'll be pissed by the time she gets there, by the sound of it.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Tuesday, 25 November 2003 12:45 (twenty-two years ago)

I should be there by six. Following yesterday's thread I am BigTasty-Curious, so I might pop into the Mcdonalds at the top of the street first (if I can get in past all the the Ordnance Survey people with measuring devices that seem to be in there the whole time).

Tim (Tim), Tuesday, 25 November 2003 12:47 (twenty-two years ago)

About 8:30 for me.

Winter Whopper Tim, Winter Whopper.

Pete (Pete), Tuesday, 25 November 2003 12:47 (twenty-two years ago)

But the nearest Burger King's on High Holborn and I'm not *that* interested.

Tim (Tim), Tuesday, 25 November 2003 12:48 (twenty-two years ago)

how early i get there depends on how early i leave here but my boss isn't in so...in about 3 hours then heh heh

stevem (blueski), Tuesday, 25 November 2003 12:49 (twenty-two years ago)

Feck, is the nearest BK that far? I was up for rocking the Winter Whopper tonight as well.

Ricardo (RickyT), Tuesday, 25 November 2003 12:52 (twenty-two years ago)

i had one in Angel last night, then i got on the wrong bus and ended up in South Tottenham. maybe there's something in the mustard mayo...

stevem (blueski), Tuesday, 25 November 2003 12:53 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm gonna be there early as I can... might leave house soon to get to shops up town. However, possibility of brother vomiting up at school/not having his keys means I might have to wait till three, then wait a bit more because I Hate Schoolkids On Public Transport... I will be there though, no question.

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Tuesday, 25 November 2003 12:54 (twenty-two years ago)

Friday for the Winter Whopper maybe?

Tico Tico (Tico Tico), Tuesday, 25 November 2003 12:55 (twenty-two years ago)

Friday?

Ricardo (RickyT), Tuesday, 25 November 2003 12:55 (twenty-two years ago)

FAWW?

stevem (blueski), Tuesday, 25 November 2003 12:55 (twenty-two years ago)

on the 1:10 OS maps the winter whopper is going to have its own symbol!! it's a sponsorship deal i guess

mark s (mark s), Tuesday, 25 November 2003 12:56 (twenty-two years ago)

1:10!?

Ricardo (RickyT), Tuesday, 25 November 2003 12:57 (twenty-two years ago)

i'm aiming for 6:30, and that's when the upstairs will be opened (unless you can sweet talk the bartenders into unlocking it early! just say you're part of the democrats group...)

colette (a2lette), Tuesday, 25 November 2003 13:02 (twenty-two years ago)

We'll be the motley looking bunch downstairs then, Colette.

FAWW sounds bad to me because I fear the mustard.

Tim (Tim), Tuesday, 25 November 2003 13:10 (twenty-two years ago)

Steve - you got the wrong bus AGAIN? I think someone should be designated to help poor SteveM home after the pub for fear of what might happen.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 25 November 2003 13:14 (twenty-two years ago)

I won't be there early unfortuately as the trustees aren't turning up until 5, and I've got to show them the archive. I think we're aiming to chuck everyone out at 7, so I may not be there until after that.

Vicky (Vicky), Tuesday, 25 November 2003 13:15 (twenty-two years ago)

Half 6 or so, probably, unless Sarah and I go out for food first. I believe she's baking some bread for the Democrats this afternoon :)

Markelby (Mark C), Tuesday, 25 November 2003 13:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Tim your reputation as 'hardman of ILX' is now in tatters in light of mustard fear confession

stevem (blueski), Tuesday, 25 November 2003 13:38 (twenty-two years ago)

"Hardman of ILX"?

Your rep as ILX dimbo remains intact.

Tim (Tim), Tuesday, 25 November 2003 13:40 (twenty-two years ago)

Did someone call?

Markelby (Mark C), Tuesday, 25 November 2003 13:52 (twenty-two years ago)

See? Now that Barry, he's a hardman.

Tim (Tim), Tuesday, 25 November 2003 13:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Fuck you, you fucking fuck.

Allylby (Mark C), Tuesday, 25 November 2003 13:54 (twenty-two years ago)

Didn't N. use to be the internet hardman? I fear he has gone soft.

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Tuesday, 25 November 2003 13:56 (twenty-two years ago)

I had a Big Tasty this lunchtime as I ph34r the moutarde also. It was alright. It tasted like a cardbox box with slightly nicer dressing. It was very hard to tell the nice lady behind the counter I did not want the meal deal. Hem hem read "do not have the extra 1.50".

The winter whopper is cheaper than the big tasty. I nearly got one last night but the picture demonstrates a "whopping" great big neon yellow smudge across the burger which er, um, well. Uck.

Sarah (starry), Tuesday, 25 November 2003 14:05 (twenty-two years ago)

what the hell is with this mustaphobia? wussies the lot of ye, it's not even proper English being as it is diluted by cool mayo

stevem (blueski), Tuesday, 25 November 2003 14:09 (twenty-two years ago)

Mayo = DOUBLE bluggh.

Sarah (starry), Tuesday, 25 November 2003 14:22 (twenty-two years ago)

actually i'm not coming now as i'm too busy the rest of the week, and i am a gurl, soz and that, like...

...have a nice time all

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Tuesday, 25 November 2003 15:14 (twenty-two years ago)

yo dudes! i'm here in london at gareth's pad. will be there at about 7!

geeta (gareth), Tuesday, 25 November 2003 16:06 (twenty-two years ago)

that's what you think

Ed (dali), Tuesday, 25 November 2003 16:13 (twenty-two years ago)

DO any of you know whether Tracer Hand is coming this evening?

Tim (Tim), Tuesday, 25 November 2003 16:14 (twenty-two years ago)

I shall call him right now.

Ed (dali), Tuesday, 25 November 2003 16:15 (twenty-two years ago)

is it just me or is this like todally plague day on ilx? where is everybode?

enrique (Enrique), Tuesday, 25 November 2003 16:16 (twenty-two years ago)

i should be there by six unless i discover some particularly exciting maths in the next hour. that seems unlikely, though.

toby (tsg20), Tuesday, 25 November 2003 16:24 (twenty-two years ago)

toby can you do that equation that Will Hunting solved?

stevem (blueski), Tuesday, 25 November 2003 16:29 (twenty-two years ago)

sadly i have never seen that film. i do recall someone telling me once that it was something really easy/complete nonsense. i might be mixing my maths films up though.

toby (tsg20), Tuesday, 25 November 2003 16:32 (twenty-two years ago)

is Pi your favourite film ever perchance?

stevem (blueski), Tuesday, 25 November 2003 16:42 (twenty-two years ago)

I can (it is complete nonsense).

Any true mathematician despises Pi.

Pete (Pete), Tuesday, 25 November 2003 16:49 (twenty-two years ago)

i'm with Vorderman then

stevem (blueski), Tuesday, 25 November 2003 16:51 (twenty-two years ago)

Just like any 'true druggie' despised 'Requiem for a Dream', which FUCKING SUCKED SO MUCH SHIT

dave q, Tuesday, 25 November 2003 16:56 (twenty-two years ago)

My brother did have keys, but I'm ambling about the house just this minute... Be there about half six at rough-ish estimate.

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Tuesday, 25 November 2003 16:59 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm setting off as soon as I post today's Popular entry.

Tico Tico (Tico Tico), Tuesday, 25 November 2003 17:04 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm going to go with ILE peer pressure and sample a Big Tasty on the way as well. Should be there half sixish...

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 25 November 2003 17:20 (twenty-two years ago)

I have been talking to Conservative Party lackeys all day and am in the mood to smash things.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Tuesday, 25 November 2003 17:26 (twenty-two years ago)

oh hey, sorry again for not coming. Got people getting out of hospital today, so ya know, should be staying home and all that.

jel -- (jel), Tuesday, 25 November 2003 17:34 (twenty-two years ago)

Hope all's well, JEL. We'll miss you.

Tracer: hooray! See you in a bit. Hand Smash!

Tim (Tim), Tuesday, 25 November 2003 17:35 (twenty-two years ago)

I am leaving now, and going via The King of Burgers. I shall see you all there.

Ricardo (RickyT), Tuesday, 25 November 2003 17:47 (twenty-two years ago)

Biscuits seemed to work, can't do gravy due to lack of a suitable transportation vessel.

Ed (dali), Tuesday, 25 November 2003 17:58 (twenty-two years ago)

i'm surprised people aren't as rockist about fast food as they are about beer here ;)

stevem (blueski), Tuesday, 25 November 2003 18:05 (twenty-two years ago)

I am the chief beer rockist, do you see me diving for mcd's.

Ed (dali), Tuesday, 25 November 2003 18:12 (twenty-two years ago)

colette you totally ROCK and so do yr pies and pals

sadly my annual waxy build-up kicked in big time like yesterday hence i wz a sudden deaf old gimmer and left a bit early instead of carrying on shouting WHAT at cis and lixi the whole time

sadlier still there is a humiliating pic of me now extant unless a friendly elf destroys geeta's digicam

mark s (mark s), Wednesday, 26 November 2003 00:03 (twenty-two years ago)

geetas camera was only one of many

charltonlido (gareth), Wednesday, 26 November 2003 00:43 (twenty-two years ago)

my elves, my myrmidons

mark s (mark s), Wednesday, 26 November 2003 00:46 (twenty-two years ago)

dude gareth i just got home! i took a wrong turn at hazellville road

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Wednesday, 26 November 2003 00:50 (twenty-two years ago)

but there were no turns?

charltonlido (gareth), Wednesday, 26 November 2003 01:00 (twenty-two years ago)

fairbridge was RIGHT THERE on the left but i figured that was too easy so i went down one further to hazellville which took a nice sharp turn in the wrong direction. i can see why the narnia books were written in this country; one wrong step and you're on a difft planet!

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Wednesday, 26 November 2003 01:22 (twenty-two years ago)

Haha that picture of Mark and Unnamed Ilxer is awesome.

It was a rocking evening - props to Colette for letting us all crash her party. Huge turnout for a midweek FAP as well...

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 26 November 2003 09:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Very pleasantly surprised by my lack of next-morning ruin as well.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 26 November 2003 09:21 (twenty-two years ago)

I really can't believe how ruin free I am, considering how rattled I was last night. Good night though.

Baseball chants are U&K

chris (chris), Wednesday, 26 November 2003 09:41 (twenty-two years ago)

I had two glasses of water with a nice box of fried chicken. Ruin free too!

Sarah (starry), Wednesday, 26 November 2003 09:50 (twenty-two years ago)

(dood)

Sarah (starry), Wednesday, 26 November 2003 09:50 (twenty-two years ago)

Barry Lasagne is a bully and a ruffian, by the way. Poor Julio.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 26 November 2003 09:57 (twenty-two years ago)

I know, that was the most shocking scene of aggression I've seen in ages. There's some angry spice in that there Lasizzle.

chris (chris), Wednesday, 26 November 2003 10:03 (twenty-two years ago)

my ruin is only the haze of tiredness and a couple of units of alcohol over and above what would have been sensible. I had a lovely time, but wish I could have got there earlier.

Vicky (Vicky), Wednesday, 26 November 2003 10:13 (twenty-two years ago)

the ruin is mine

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 26 November 2003 10:16 (twenty-two years ago)

excellent, you can have it. Did you remember the "commission" by the way?

chris (chris), Wednesday, 26 November 2003 10:18 (twenty-two years ago)

I am feeling slightly below par. Sorry if I bored anyone abt the UK/US experience of pop thing last night.

Ricardo (RickyT), Wednesday, 26 November 2003 10:18 (twenty-two years ago)

"a couple of units of alcohol"

I am very mildly ruined, but had a fantastic time. Thanks again Colette (I am aware I spent a good part of last night thanking you, apologies for over-effusiveness), and go Generation Coke Dean!!

Julio bespoiled my sister.

Markelby (Mark C), Wednesday, 26 November 2003 10:19 (twenty-two years ago)

:-(

Hey guys I hope you had a good time... sorry I didn't make it. On Sunday afternoon, HSA was struck with the urge to clean out the spare room, and me being the good soul I am, I offered to help and immediately lifted a big heavy box of books in the "How Not To Lift Big Heavy Things" illustration stylee and nearly ripped out my spine. (Sorry too much CSI last night, I'm imagining instant replay forensic reconstructions of red lines shooting out of my back.)

So I've been flat on my back with a hot water bottle and prescription painkillers for about three days. So I'm really really really sorry I didn't come out... Sounds like it was a good one.

Citizen Kate (kate), Wednesday, 26 November 2003 10:19 (twenty-two years ago)

yeh i was wondering where La Femme Resistance (Kate and Anna) were - sorry to hear of your horrific injury

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 26 November 2003 10:21 (twenty-two years ago)

and chris i do remember'the commission' - 'the merchandise' will be delivered following negotiation of appropriate time and value

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 26 November 2003 10:22 (twenty-two years ago)

Vive La FAP! etc.

Citizen Kate (kate), Wednesday, 26 November 2003 10:23 (twenty-two years ago)

Geeta- nice to see you again.

Had to leave early cuz I had a meeting early today.

dave q- thanks for yr CD. haven't heard it yet but will tonight.

colette- thanks. nice meeting you.

barry- you can have the title of 'internet hardman' because I never was one. really.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Wednesday, 26 November 2003 10:26 (twenty-two years ago)

nice to see you jacknife julio

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 26 November 2003 10:27 (twenty-two years ago)

Julio being interviewed by that fellow from the Graun was one of the funniest things I've eavesdropped in a while.

Tim (Tim), Wednesday, 26 November 2003 10:28 (twenty-two years ago)

wha?????

chris (chris), Wednesday, 26 November 2003 10:28 (twenty-two years ago)

Please tell me he said "who's Harold Dean?"

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 26 November 2003 10:28 (twenty-two years ago)

I shouldn't have told this to tim.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Wednesday, 26 November 2003 10:30 (twenty-two years ago)

It was great to meet geeta, although I fear her photos. Not ruined at all due to wussing out early.

Sam (chirombo), Wednesday, 26 November 2003 10:30 (twenty-two years ago)

i fear gareth's photos more

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 26 November 2003 10:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Did anyone get a shot of The Shirt?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 26 November 2003 10:33 (twenty-two years ago)

fear not, The Shirt will yet have it's day (night)

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 26 November 2003 10:34 (twenty-two years ago)

today i am wearing a luminous tank-top

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 26 November 2003 10:35 (twenty-two years ago)

AARGH! Luminous what?

aw, wish I'd been there. I *look forward* to Gareth's photos.

MarkH (MarkH), Wednesday, 26 November 2003 10:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Surely no-one was foolish enough to risk their camera by taking a snap of The Shirt?

Also: you take a picture of The Shirt and all you end up with is a picture of that shirt which you have to look at.

Tim (Tim), Wednesday, 26 November 2003 10:36 (twenty-two years ago)

the phrase "have" has no place in geezaesthetics

mark s (mark s), Wednesday, 26 November 2003 10:37 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes I meant ph34r.

Tim (Tim), Wednesday, 26 November 2003 10:37 (twenty-two years ago)

awesome to see everyone again!

(dude!)

geeta (geeta), Wednesday, 26 November 2003 11:36 (twenty-two years ago)

shame I missed you.

re Gareth pic: someone's a real sharp-shooter to fire their ammo into the shape of a phone. a real work of genius.

MarkH (MarkH), Wednesday, 26 November 2003 11:43 (twenty-two years ago)

Ah, twas coolies last night. Good to see Sam again, met Colette, Dave Q and DG too for first time, which was also skills., Also, I ph34r that for first-time-ever-at-an-FAP my picture got taken. Results may be... hmm.

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Wednesday, 26 November 2003 12:00 (twenty-two years ago)

i had a fantastic night as well, thanks for coming everyone! it was really cool to meet so many people, and eat lots of yummy food.

i haven't talked to the reporter again, but if the article gets in, it'll be next thursday.

also, being such heavy drinkers/good customers, the manager told me that you're all welcome to do it there again, and if it's planned in advance she can put a bartender upstairs.yay for laziness.

anyway, thanks again, i had a fantastic time!

(and sorry you couldn't make it kate, hope you're feeling better now)

colette (a2lette), Thursday, 27 November 2003 10:39 (twenty-two years ago)

geeta (geeta), Sunday, 30 November 2003 20:39 (twenty-two years ago)

The stevem one is high art.

Ed (dali), Sunday, 30 November 2003 20:55 (twenty-two years ago)

it looks like someone broke my nose

stevem (blueski), Monday, 1 December 2003 13:10 (twenty-two years ago)

Not yet, cully.

Pete (Pete), Monday, 1 December 2003 13:14 (twenty-two years ago)

But I'll fuckin' break yer legs next time, blueski.

Markelby (Mark C), Monday, 1 December 2003 13:14 (twenty-two years ago)

have you all just been 'made men' by 'Opkins aka Timmy Two Fingers or something?

stevem (blueski), Monday, 1 December 2003 14:02 (twenty-two years ago)

"Timmy"

I like to think of myself as a renegade hardman for sale.

Markelby (Mark C), Monday, 1 December 2003 14:03 (twenty-two years ago)

I've never made anyone a man.

Tim (Tim), Monday, 1 December 2003 14:06 (twenty-two years ago)

Pix pix pix!

Sam (chirombo), Thursday, 4 December 2003 12:46 (twenty-two years ago)

well, i've finally got a few pictures on this computer, but nowhere to post them just yet. once i get the gen dean site up, i guess i can link to them...

and as far as i can tell, the guardian article doesn't seem to be in today's paper. now i have to wait a week to see what my cooking has to do with politics!

colette (a2lette), Thursday, 4 December 2003 13:04 (twenty-two years ago)

You have looked in the supplement, haven't you, Colette? Did you get the journo's name? Maybe you could search for it on the website?

Markelby (Mark C), Thursday, 4 December 2003 13:08 (twenty-two years ago)

He was a half-arsed hack at best.

Pete (Pete), Thursday, 4 December 2003 13:13 (twenty-two years ago)

He looked like the funny geeky dude from 'Alias'.

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Thursday, 4 December 2003 13:15 (twenty-two years ago)

i've searched the website by his name and for howard dean, but his most recent article is about game girl advance.

but if anyone sees anything, let me know...i think it would be in the 'online' section.

colette (a2lette), Thursday, 4 December 2003 13:19 (twenty-two years ago)

awesome pics. I'm actually gonna be in London in two weeks but I've never been there before, am unusually timid about the whole thing and have no idea whether I'll actually fancy a pint or not yet.

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Monday, 8 December 2003 03:52 (twenty-two years ago)

Geeta there was a better picture of me :(

Christ I am stopping drinking if my face always goes that red.

I bought in mince pies for the office but upon seeing that photo I think I shall not eat any! I always wondered what a stapled stomach would feel like anyway ugh ugh I apologise for my appearance first thing on a Monday.

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Monday, 8 December 2003 22:41 (twenty-two years ago)

oh and my timidness wasn't based on thinking you Brits were bad, but just the fact that this is my first time out of the US since birth and I don't know anything about anything or what the heck I'm gonna do on this trip (me and my mom are meeting my sister in London for a week, she's in school in Edinborough for a year).

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Thursday, 18 December 2003 20:26 (twenty-two years ago)

Just what I thought, Julio. Maybe we should drop Marissa Marchant a line and ask her political leanings.

Colette has now joined the ranks of famous ILXors, then :)

Steve Mannion, yesterday

stevem (blueski), Friday, 19 December 2003 11:48 (twenty-two years ago)

two weeks pass...
i COMPETELY missed this. someone just called me at work and asked if i'd seen the article. i'm so excited. although i sound a little betty crocker as i'm described "as she arranges plates of turkey stuffing and thick wedges of key lime pie."

it's a weird article. i mean, it's good, i'm excited and stuff. but they don't really talk about the party and how many people were there and what a nice crowd it was, which is a shame.

but yeah, just what i needed on a sleepy and depressing monday!

colette (a2lette), Monday, 5 January 2004 15:25 (twenty-two years ago)

I didn't see this Colette, hooray for you!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 5 January 2004 15:30 (twenty-two years ago)

There's nothing wrong with this of course

my pie made the papers!

Ed (dali), Monday, 5 January 2004 19:39 (twenty-two years ago)

i know, ed. and i feel a little bad because it sounds almost like it's MY pie. i did point it out to him, and then pointed you out, so he knew that it wasn't my pie that i arranged. but obviously one of the most striking dishes for him to write about it...
