And if guys who are a little on the short side feel they are being short-changed, they might want to consider relocating to Texas, where women have responded in disproportionate numbers that they are willing to date men 5-feet-6-inches or shorter.

So, what is there to do in Portland? I'll be for the better part of the first week of October. I'll be working 12 hour shifts so I won't have a whole lot of time, but how about any really good eats/record stores/jazz clubs etc.?

If you're going to be at the Courtyard on Sunnybrook, that's Clackamas. You'll likely be at the Sunnyside facilities. That's waaay out there.

yup. you're in the shitty SE side of town, full of meth houses. There's a cool pawn/secondhand shop on SE 82nd called "Stuff," tho, that's worth checking out.

Sorry. It's not totally impossible to do things in the outskirts of Portland, but the things that kingfish is talking about doing will be almost impossible with 12-hour shifts...unless you want to spring for a cab.

xpost -- well if you have a rental car, that should be much easier. Remember I-205 northbound and I-84 will be your conduits to reaching anything cool in town. Use them. Stay off the outer surface streets like 82nd and Powell Blvd.
