Yeah, you made that up. It is quite possible that downstairs will be booked. But I don't think today will be too hideous, everyone (even the non-pubgoing pubgoers who are out in force this month) will be gearing up for Christmas parties.

yeah the area around the BB table is usually quite easy to commandeer, and GHS *tends* to have a lot of punters who come in for one and then go away, so table grabbing is usually possible...

Good idea Pete - if you arrive at the GHS later than say 6.30 and there's no ILXors there, go to the John Snow instead. (This does not work if you are Mitch and know no ILXors, of course, but in that case he gets to make some grebt new friends by asking random people if they are.)

Victorian pub in the heart of Soho, standard Sam Smith's fayre - which is OK if you like Sam Smith's. The food is average cheap pub grub. Pretty unremarkable all in all. If it's crowded downstairs try the upstairs bar. Usually crowded with media types.

Heh heh. I rather overdid, obviously, due to my absence from work yesterday. I HONESTLY thought we were only going to be there for two pints! So I didn't bother having dinner. (Despite HSA ordering himself dinner and buying chips for everyone.) And everyone kept offering me booze, and next thing I knew, I'd been drinking solid from 5.30pm through to 11, and could barely walk home.

Good FAP, though. Was most excellent fun. Yelling "Mitch!" Norm-style at all the gothic Essex girls going downstairs was good fun.

i remember there being another couple of karaoke places on fridays - one SCARY place that is near Waterloo (the crown and cushion?) with scary dancing jamacian man.

and there is also MR BOING! Featuring the worst website ever - but you can PRE-BOOK songs by email and also he takes photos of you while you sing! From the website he seems to be off to Oz for 3 weeks. He used to do friday nights at the Frog in the Hole(? i can't remmeber the name) opposite bond street station.
