Geddy was actually rather reserved and dull (this was after seeing them at the Garden on the Roll the Bones tour). A friend of mine at LIFE magazine (where I was thanklessly working at the time) named Leslie used to tour with them in some capacity (I didn't ask) and asked if I wanted to tag along next time they were in town. I said yes, and so we did. Anyway, we ended up going to a since-defunct restaurant in Soho called Nick & Eddie's. Geddy was nice, but not wildly charismatic. He speaking voice isn't as screechy as you might expect (not that he spoke that much to me...haha). Alex Lifeson, by contrast, was much more talkative and cool (this was before his days of drunky New Year's Eve punch-ups). I met Peart briefly (who was...I shit ye not...sitting in the lotus position reading Nietsche backstage), but he didn't come to dinner.
