Nope, that's just reverse innit. Recursive implies meaning building upon successive terms of something, like a mathematical formula in which each step depends on a previous calculation. I think.

It comes from mathematics originally. The classic example is the way the nth Fibonacci number can be defined recursively as follows:

F(1) = 1
F(2) = 1
F(n) = F(n-1) + F(n-2)
