mullygrubber (gaz), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 08:41 (twenty-one years ago)

rainy (rainy), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 08:41 (twenty-one years ago)

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 08:43 (twenty-one years ago)

"There appear to be no records which explain precisely how New Zealand received its name. One theory is the possible link between New Zealand and Hollandia Nova, the original name given to Australia. The two Dutch provinces of Holland and Zeelandt were separated by sea, the same as Hollandia Nova (Australia) and Zelandia Nova (New Zealand)."

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 08:49 (twenty-one years ago)

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 08:50 (twenty-one years ago)

trust your instincts Di!

rainy (rainy), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 08:53 (twenty-one years ago)

heh okay!

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 08:53 (twenty-one years ago)

what is gaz doing with his evening?

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 08:57 (twenty-one years ago)

i killed the thread by naming it badly :-(

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 09:05 (twenty-one years ago)

Nonsense; I killed it by turning up.

rainy (rainy), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 09:06 (twenty-one years ago)

It's not dead! It's just a little under the weather

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 09:09 (twenty-one years ago)

don't be silly, you're a nonstop party!

(xpost)

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 09:09 (twenty-one years ago)

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 09:10 (twenty-one years ago)

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 09:12 (twenty-one years ago)

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 09:15 (twenty-one years ago)

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 09:15 (twenty-one years ago)

ken c (ken c), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 09:46 (twenty-one years ago)

hi!
i just ate, i wasn't avoiding this atrociously named thread! ;-)

there is nowhere i would rather be, and no other folks i would rather be with!

mullygrubber (gaz), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 09:53 (twenty-one years ago)

i look forward to learning more of the semi-legendary Rainy!

mullygrubber (gaz), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 09:55 (twenty-one years ago)

Hi!!!!

the music mole (colin s barrow), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 10:05 (twenty-one years ago)

hi! I am drinking perrier and trying to imagine it's beer or something

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 10:08 (twenty-one years ago)

ah, its starting to feel like home already. hi mole, kate.

mullygrubber (gaz), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 10:15 (twenty-one years ago)

hi mully, i just clipped my cats nails, she didn't like it much.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 10:24 (twenty-one years ago)

learn more about me here

rainy (rainy), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 10:27 (twenty-one years ago)

"sniffing oil paintings?"

mullygrubber (gaz), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 10:31 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm not into sport, I like art.

rainy (rainy), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 10:33 (twenty-one years ago)

me too!

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 10:37 (twenty-one years ago)

its weird, as i get older i am coming back round to sport after years of hate/disinterest.

art? i am becoming less interested (but that involves great personal hurt, so lets leave that)

mullygrubber (gaz), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 10:38 (twenty-one years ago)

similar to the kind of great personal hurt hitler experienced with the art world? :)

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 10:39 (twenty-one years ago)

you vill all pay

mullygrubber (gaz), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 10:41 (twenty-one years ago)

Hi!

Markelby (Mark C), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 10:47 (twenty-one years ago)

Hi Mark!

rainy (rainy), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 10:57 (twenty-one years ago)

It'd really be a shame if you lot keep yourselves to Antipodean threads - come and talk about stupid people on mine!

Markelby (Mark C), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 10:58 (twenty-one years ago)

these threads are tedious alright.

Hi! What are you drinking! Hi! Is it raining where you are? Hey! I'm eating beans! Hey - I'm drunk!

Use a chatroom...

paulhw (paulhw), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 15:10 (twenty-one years ago)

Do not mess with the Aussies you WILL lose.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 20:53 (twenty-one years ago)

I like these threads!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 20:54 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah, you tell 'em Ned!!! After a mind-bending session talking semoitics, trance, the Hitler theory of Big Beat and Shakespearian influences in Judas Priest there's nothing like coming back to this stupid thread.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 21:03 (twenty-one years ago)

hi australasians! loins of emu for all y'alls!

Eisbär (llamasfur), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 21:04 (twenty-one years ago)

Eisbar roxxx

See, Di, it's the name of the thread that's bringing in Johnny Foreigner. We need to change it to something really boring and specialised. Like, "Escutcheon Grommits - Classic or Dud", or maybe "Anyone heard the the new Cut Copy EP?"

the music mole (colin s barrow), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 21:05 (twenty-one years ago)

you won't fool us ha ha haw

Eisbär (llamasfur), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 21:05 (twenty-one years ago)

How about - "frozen koala tacos - what is the appropriate dethawing time?" Wait I know I know: let's call it "Dunedin FAP".

the music mole (colin s barrow), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 21:13 (twenty-one years ago)

ding ding!
i like the name of thread now.
i am amused that people barge in and claim friends chatting is boring. i mean, would you sit sadly all alone next to a bunch of people at the pub who are obviously having a good time at a table you are welcome to join and just lean over and say "ew, you people are talking about your lives, get a room"

mullygrubber (gaz), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 21:17 (twenty-one years ago)

HOLLANDIA??

I thought Ireland was the only nation to drink that!

Ronan (Ronan), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 21:18 (twenty-one years ago)

Do you get Bavaria?

Ronan (Ronan), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 21:18 (twenty-one years ago)

Morning Goofbags!

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 21:19 (twenty-one years ago)

hollandia is cheap here! but the bottles are a wee bit small. i don't know bavaria ronan.

mullygrubber (gaz), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 21:27 (twenty-one years ago)

Hollandia comes in cans here, it's just newly out. It's made by the same people as Bavaria (which is brewed in Holland oddly). They have the cheap beer market locked down, although TUBORG is muscling in slightly. I like Tuborg because I like changing that line from the Simpsons to "ah tuborg, how many times have you saved my butt".

Ronan (Ronan), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 21:29 (twenty-one years ago)

i might have a look for bavaria tonight, we don't have tuborg.

you know we used to be called new holland. and our heritage is irish crims?

mullygrubber (gaz), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 21:32 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah I knew about the Irish crims thing, I would really like to go to Tasmania sometime, read some fucked up stuff about the convicts and things there.

Ronan (Ronan), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 21:34 (twenty-one years ago)

Some of us were Anglo-Jewish criminals, you know. I like to think there's a bit of Shylock in me.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 21:35 (twenty-one years ago)

really, i wouldn't have picked that...

i was a 10 pound immigrant!

mullygrubber (gaz), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 21:37 (twenty-one years ago)

Blargh, only decaf left and milk that went off today. What a shit start to the day.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 22:35 (twenty-one years ago)

morning all! i am tired and slightly hungover

the surface noise (electricsound), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 22:38 (twenty-one years ago)

well done.

mullygrubber (gaz), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 22:39 (twenty-one years ago)

i gave the coolsies the rocking they so sorely needed

the surface noise (electricsound), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 22:41 (twenty-one years ago)

you played a gig?

mullygrubber (gaz), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 22:42 (twenty-one years ago)

yeah, i said so on the old mongrelfuckers thread!! keep up gazzy

the surface noise (electricsound), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 22:43 (twenty-one years ago)

bugger, the output jack on my guitar is screwed.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 22:45 (twenty-one years ago)

sorry, still head full of snot. was it good? did you "get" any groupies?

you should maybe go out ipso, seems the house is against you this morning.

mullygrubber (gaz), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 22:47 (twenty-one years ago)

what happened to the jack?

yeah the gig was ok, mix was a little wonky but oh well. no groupies but the kids love the 'boat anyway. most of my friends left within a couple of songs of g0 b3tsy starting..

the surface noise (electricsound), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 22:49 (twenty-one years ago)

the jack? Hmmm...dunno, I guess I was a little too generous with lending my guitar out to people.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 22:51 (twenty-one years ago)

but what's wrong with it? i gather that the input jack is dead easy to fix (which reminds me i should get my bass fixed)

the surface noise (electricsound), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 22:52 (twenty-one years ago)

i think it's a loose wire or something. I'd fix it myself but I have no soldering iron so I guess i'll have to take it to john the repairing type to guy to fix it.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 22:54 (twenty-one years ago)

i just tried to have an ilx fight jim, but i couldn't manage it...

mullygrubber (gaz), Thursday, 25 March 2004 00:31 (twenty-one years ago)

with who?

the surface noise (electricsound), Thursday, 25 March 2004 00:42 (twenty-one years ago)

i am too ashamed to say.

do you think this thread is making "outsiders" pooey, or disappointing them?

mullygrubber (gaz), Thursday, 25 March 2004 00:44 (twenty-one years ago)

it's making them jealous that they're not as cool as us antipodeans

the surface noise (electricsound), Thursday, 25 March 2004 00:47 (twenty-one years ago)

I know, let's start a new thread and call it 'Non-Australians are grate!'. That should mollify everyone.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Thursday, 25 March 2004 00:47 (twenty-one years ago)

but it would be a filthy lie

the surface noise (electricsound), Thursday, 25 March 2004 00:48 (twenty-one years ago)

I would watch with interest.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 25 March 2004 00:53 (twenty-one years ago)

now colin, he's some one who knows how to start fights

mullygrubber (gaz), Thursday, 25 March 2004 01:27 (twenty-one years ago)

I try to fight, but everyone just ignores me.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Thursday, 25 March 2004 01:34 (twenty-one years ago)

who are you trying to fight with?

the surface noise (electricsound), Thursday, 25 March 2004 01:37 (twenty-one years ago)

I mean on ilx. Not with you.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Thursday, 25 March 2004 01:40 (twenty-one years ago)

c'mon kate, lets get out there and start a fucking fight with someone! i'm fucking well fucking up for it. i got your back. what poncey fucking half arsed thread do you fancy?

mullygrubber (gaz), Thursday, 25 March 2004 01:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Hmmmm...let me see. Theres def. a few that need livening up.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Thursday, 25 March 2004 01:43 (twenty-one years ago)

I seem to just get into fights. Maybe I can help.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Thursday, 25 March 2004 01:43 (twenty-one years ago)

mullygrubber (gaz), Thursday, 25 March 2004 01:44 (twenty-one years ago)

THE FUCKING GLOVES ARE OFF!

mullygrubber (gaz), Thursday, 25 March 2004 01:45 (twenty-one years ago)

Will we have gang signs, gang colours and shit?

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Thursday, 25 March 2004 01:46 (twenty-one years ago)

blue singlets, stubbies, small round glasses

mullygrubber (gaz), Thursday, 25 March 2004 01:48 (twenty-one years ago)

I think we start a thread like this:

"Australia vs the rest of the world"

In it, we simply kick their arses.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Thursday, 25 March 2004 01:49 (twenty-one years ago)

They're not to know that we're all like Piggy from Lord of the Flies.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Thursday, 25 March 2004 01:49 (twenty-one years ago)

i'm having second thoughts. its not like i'm, ah, scared or nothing. i just that, you know, people are entitled to their opinions and stuff.

mullygrubber (gaz), Thursday, 25 March 2004 01:50 (twenty-one years ago)

stubbies the shorts or the beer container?

the surface noise (electricsound), Thursday, 25 March 2004 01:51 (twenty-one years ago)

the music mole (colin s barrow), Thursday, 25 March 2004 01:51 (twenty-one years ago)

the music mole (colin s barrow), Thursday, 25 March 2004 01:52 (twenty-one years ago)

mullygrubber (gaz), Thursday, 25 March 2004 01:53 (twenty-one years ago)

the surface noise (electricsound), Thursday, 25 March 2004 01:55 (twenty-one years ago)

its a ref to lord of the flies i think.

mullygrubber (gaz), Thursday, 25 March 2004 01:56 (twenty-one years ago)

sure is.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Thursday, 25 March 2004 01:57 (twenty-one years ago)

"The Conch is a symbol of the high hand of authority. Used to call meetings, it is magical to the boys, who for the most part respect it. In the end, when it is destroyed, authority on the island is gone and Ralph is left to fend for himself"

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Thursday, 25 March 2004 02:00 (twenty-one years ago)

neddy ragget got a big ol' conch!

mullygrubber (gaz), Thursday, 25 March 2004 02:00 (twenty-one years ago)

he hides it in his hair

the surface noise (electricsound), Thursday, 25 March 2004 02:01 (twenty-one years ago)

Ned is the conch! Who's holding him now?

the music mole (colin s barrow), Thursday, 25 March 2004 02:20 (twenty-one years ago)

isn't that a seals & croft song?

mullygrubber (gaz), Thursday, 25 March 2004 02:29 (twenty-one years ago)

Let go of my conchly self.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 25 March 2004 03:12 (twenty-one years ago)

Hey wait, you Melbourne people are all murdering dogs.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 25 March 2004 03:17 (twenty-one years ago)

i lived almost literally spitting distance from that restaurant

the surface noise (electricsound), Thursday, 25 March 2004 03:18 (twenty-one years ago)

KILLER.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 25 March 2004 03:19 (twenty-one years ago)

mmmmm... organised crime..

the surface noise (electricsound), Thursday, 25 March 2004 03:19 (twenty-one years ago)

later they sauted him and had him with a light red.

mullygrubber (gaz), Thursday, 25 March 2004 03:19 (twenty-one years ago)

the surface noise (electricsound), Thursday, 25 March 2004 03:20 (twenty-one years ago)

mullygrubber (gaz), Thursday, 25 March 2004 03:21 (twenty-one years ago)

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Thursday, 25 March 2004 03:22 (twenty-one years ago)

have a sherry

mullygrubber (gaz), Thursday, 25 March 2004 03:26 (twenty-one years ago)

Nah, I drank the house dry last bender. Getting more alcohol would require me to leave the house.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Thursday, 25 March 2004 03:28 (twenty-one years ago)

is...that...difficult...?

i plan to get shitfaced tonight.

mullygrubber (gaz), Thursday, 25 March 2004 03:31 (twenty-one years ago)

the surface noise (electricsound), Thursday, 25 March 2004 03:32 (twenty-one years ago)

Cold blooded griller.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Thursday, 25 March 2004 03:48 (twenty-one years ago)

the surface noise (electricsound), Thursday, 25 March 2004 03:50 (twenty-one years ago)

mullygrubber (gaz), Thursday, 25 March 2004 03:51 (twenty-one years ago)

What, my fourth? And on top of the tea?

the music mole (colin s barrow), Thursday, 25 March 2004 03:52 (twenty-one years ago)

I might have to drag my ass 100 metres down the street to the bottle shop for a six pack later on.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Thursday, 25 March 2004 03:52 (twenty-one years ago)

sounds painful but worth it

the surface noise (electricsound), Thursday, 25 March 2004 03:54 (twenty-one years ago)

If I drag my ass maybe i'll grind it off on the concrete and I might look somewhat skinnier. Maybe i should drag my ass to the vet. It could be worms!

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Thursday, 25 March 2004 03:56 (twenty-one years ago)

ONE HOUR TO GO

what could be worms?

mullygrubber (gaz), Thursday, 25 March 2004 03:57 (twenty-one years ago)

Hi Aja!

the music mole (colin s barrow), Thursday, 25 March 2004 03:58 (twenty-one years ago)

dragging my ass could be symptom of worms Mully.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Thursday, 25 March 2004 03:59 (twenty-one years ago)

That's true.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Thursday, 25 March 2004 04:08 (twenty-one years ago)

It also could be a symptom of the much more likely SSS, or otherwise known as slack student syndrome.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Thursday, 25 March 2004 04:10 (twenty-one years ago)

HI AJA?

mullygrubber (gaz), Thursday, 25 March 2004 04:10 (twenty-one years ago)

What?

the music mole (colin s barrow), Thursday, 25 March 2004 04:14 (twenty-one years ago)

you just said hi aja

mullygrubber (gaz), Thursday, 25 March 2004 04:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Why?

the music mole (colin s barrow), Thursday, 25 March 2004 04:25 (twenty-one years ago)

i figured it was sarcastic and directed towards me because i was talking shit (as she often does)

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Thursday, 25 March 2004 04:26 (twenty-one years ago)

No ipso, it was directed at mully for this:

"what could be worms?"

I would never insult a lady. Oh hang on, I just insulted Aja. Sorry, Aja.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Thursday, 25 March 2004 04:27 (twenty-one years ago)

okay i'm slooooow. i have been working hard. my brain is dead.

mullygrubber (gaz), Thursday, 25 March 2004 04:28 (twenty-one years ago)

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Thursday, 25 March 2004 04:29 (twenty-one years ago)

its fine to insult kids

mullygrubber (gaz), Thursday, 25 March 2004 04:29 (twenty-one years ago)

sure is.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Thursday, 25 March 2004 04:31 (twenty-one years ago)

why?

the music mole (colin s barrow), Thursday, 25 March 2004 04:32 (twenty-one years ago)

I was being facetious.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Thursday, 25 March 2004 04:35 (twenty-one years ago)

because it doesn't hurt them til later in life

(xp)

the surface noise (electricsound), Thursday, 25 March 2004 04:35 (twenty-one years ago)

actually its fine to insult anyone whos alright isn't it you fuckin bastards?

mullygrubber (gaz), Thursday, 25 March 2004 04:42 (twenty-one years ago)

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Thursday, 25 March 2004 04:43 (twenty-one years ago)

Something like what? Sorry.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Thursday, 25 March 2004 04:47 (twenty-one years ago)

sorry, my electrodes are fusing trying to compute this particular conversation.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Thursday, 25 March 2004 04:48 (twenty-one years ago)

my youngest (2 and a bit) and i have a wee routine. i insult him by saying something like "you're a silly bugger aren't you?" and he automatically screams back "NO!!!! YOU THE SILLY BUGGER!"

mullygrubber (gaz), Thursday, 25 March 2004 04:50 (twenty-one years ago)

when his older brother annoys him he screams "I'M GONNA THROW YOU IN THE GARBAGE BIN!"

mullygrubber (gaz), Thursday, 25 March 2004 04:51 (twenty-one years ago)

am i ruining his life?

mullygrubber (gaz), Thursday, 25 March 2004 04:51 (twenty-one years ago)

sounds like fun. If I'd said that to my Dad he'd have knocked me upside the head and I did, and he did.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Thursday, 25 March 2004 04:52 (twenty-one years ago)

My 4 year old sticks her hands in the freezer, then runs up to me going 'I'm going to cold you!' and sticks her hands on my back.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Thursday, 25 March 2004 04:52 (twenty-one years ago)

I do that to my husband and he gets very cross.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Thursday, 25 March 2004 04:54 (twenty-one years ago)

husband?

now i'm fucking confused.

mullygrubber (gaz), Thursday, 25 March 2004 04:55 (twenty-one years ago)

How cross?

the music mole (colin s barrow), Thursday, 25 March 2004 04:55 (twenty-one years ago)

sucked in.

x-post

he gets rather shouty.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Thursday, 25 March 2004 04:56 (twenty-one years ago)

Oooh, do you do it to deliberately make him angry?

the music mole (colin s barrow), Thursday, 25 March 2004 04:56 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah, maybe thats why the marriage failed. Because I played the "I'm going to cold you" game.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Thursday, 25 March 2004 04:58 (twenty-one years ago)

You froze him out.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Thursday, 25 March 2004 04:58 (twenty-one years ago)

I gave him the cold shoulder.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Thursday, 25 March 2004 04:59 (twenty-one years ago)

the surface noise (electricsound), Thursday, 25 March 2004 05:09 (twenty-one years ago)

Awww Bubbles is my fave. And my 4 yr old. She loves the PP CD - she goes to sleep to their cover of Shakira's 'Whenever, Wherever'. I'm trying to get her into the Bis theme tune. hey, it's a start.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Thursday, 25 March 2004 05:12 (twenty-one years ago)

I get confused between bis and the powerpuff girls all the time.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Thursday, 25 March 2004 05:13 (twenty-one years ago)

It's Manda Rin. She's a Powerpuff girl too.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Thursday, 25 March 2004 05:15 (twenty-one years ago)

the music mole (colin s barrow), Thursday, 25 March 2004 05:21 (twenty-one years ago)

whats to like?

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Thursday, 25 March 2004 05:21 (twenty-one years ago)

bis is the travis of twee-pop.

Eisbär (llamasfur), Thursday, 25 March 2004 05:24 (twenty-one years ago)

the surface noise (electricsound), Thursday, 25 March 2004 05:25 (twenty-one years ago)

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Thursday, 25 March 2004 05:26 (twenty-one years ago)

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Thursday, 25 March 2004 05:33 (twenty-one years ago)

the music mole (colin s barrow), Thursday, 25 March 2004 05:40 (twenty-one years ago)

mullygrubber (gaz), Thursday, 25 March 2004 10:01 (twenty-one years ago)

no actually, he's a coopers sparkling guy through and through. I'm a big fan of newcastle brown personally but it really doesn't work with my current financial situation.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Thursday, 25 March 2004 10:05 (twenty-one years ago)

newcy brown is a UK beverage surely...isn't black the aust newcastle one?

mullygrubber (gaz), Thursday, 25 March 2004 10:06 (twenty-one years ago)

no, it is a english beer, I thought we were now just speaking generally about beer. If I had to pick an Australian beer i'd pick some weak-ass beer like carlton LJ.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Thursday, 25 March 2004 10:10 (twenty-one years ago)

i don't dabble in expensive imports much i'm afraid. i once had an indian beer called super stud with a picture of a horse on the label though.

mullygrubber (gaz), Thursday, 25 March 2004 10:12 (twenty-one years ago)

did you find people had trouble telling you apart from the bottle in yer hand?

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Thursday, 25 March 2004 10:13 (twenty-one years ago)

mullygrubber (gaz), Thursday, 25 March 2004 10:17 (twenty-one years ago)

Man I was ill y'day. We went lawn bowlsing on Weds for work, and I drank champagne - only about 3 glasses mind you - but I'm somewhat intolerant to wines and champers with lots of alky content + preservatives... so poor me spent most of Thursaday running to the loos at work to puke lovely biley stuff.

Yum yum! Enjoy dinner everyone ;D

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 26 March 2004 05:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Ta trayce. I'll have to make sure I choose something bearing a non-vomit resemblance while i'm out this evening.

mullygrubber (gaz), Friday, 26 March 2004 22:37 (twenty-one years ago)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 26 March 2004 22:37 (twenty-one years ago)

i'm going to be grinding away a replica of jim's face today. I think it will be strangely cathartic

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Friday, 26 March 2004 22:40 (twenty-one years ago)

pardon?

mullygrubber (gaz), Friday, 26 March 2004 22:41 (twenty-one years ago)

mullygrubber (gaz), Friday, 26 March 2004 22:42 (twenty-one years ago)

nah, i had to fashion someone i knows face from wood for my sculpture class, so today i'll be grinding bits off and jigsawing and whatnot.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Friday, 26 March 2004 22:44 (twenty-one years ago)

mullygrubber (gaz), Saturday, 27 March 2004 02:39 (twenty-one years ago)

i'm not drunk. i'm hungover and tired though. i have the neighbours from hell. they woke me up from a dream in which i was having sex with slash with their thumping loud music. GOD. the insolence.

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Saturday, 27 March 2004 03:17 (twenty-one years ago)

having sex with slash???????

mullygrubber (gaz), Saturday, 27 March 2004 03:32 (twenty-one years ago)

yes. and he was a real gentleman too :-(

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Saturday, 27 March 2004 03:34 (twenty-one years ago)

He always reminded me of one of the hairier muppets, only with a cigarette poking out through the hair.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Saturday, 27 March 2004 07:33 (twenty-one years ago)

i never saw a muppet with such luscious lips.

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Saturday, 27 March 2004 22:30 (twenty-one years ago)

mullygrubber (gaz), Saturday, 27 March 2004 22:59 (twenty-one years ago)

mullygrubber (gaz), Sunday, 28 March 2004 00:53 (twenty-one years ago)

Im having a nice quiet ch00f and relaxing doing nuttin' much. Mmm.. toasty.

Trayce (trayce), Sunday, 28 March 2004 07:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Some tune writing, some shopping, some chasing the kid around. Went to an Irish pub for lunch and was perplexed, once again, by the chips-with-mashed potato thing.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Sunday, 28 March 2004 07:59 (twenty-one years ago)

i went on a road trip with mene and steve and saw an abandoned house, a whale fossil, the elephant rocks, kurow, rainbows, sheep dung and drove over the aviemore dam and around the lake a while. now i'm dribnking holladnia again.

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Sunday, 28 March 2004 08:03 (twenty-one years ago)

ahhh...starch on starch. Isn't that an obscure bob dylan album?

x-post

I went to the gold coast today and shopped and bought jim a shirt.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Sunday, 28 March 2004 08:06 (twenty-one years ago)

it gives me great pleasure to see this thread at the top of the new answers page. colin, you're right. slash was much lovlier in the olden days.

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Sunday, 28 March 2004 08:06 (twenty-one years ago)

In talking with a friend last night who has also been to Australia and New Zealand, we both strengthened our resolve to return when we could. Oh yes.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 28 March 2004 14:12 (twenty-one years ago)

Is Malaysia in Australasia? I find the term somewhat annoying in its vagueness. Indonesia?

Skottie, Sunday, 28 March 2004 15:13 (twenty-one years ago)

Just Australia/New Zealand, LIKE YOU DIDN'T KNOW YOU NAME NAMER

Mr Mime (Andrew Thames), Sunday, 28 March 2004 15:14 (twenty-one years ago)

Things are getting much clearer around here...

Skottie, Sunday, 28 March 2004 15:41 (twenty-one years ago)

Hi, everybody!

I dreamt about an ILXor last night. Ha! Not saying who.

Trayce (trayce), Sunday, 28 March 2004 22:11 (twenty-one years ago)

So did I. I wonder if it was the same one.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Sunday, 28 March 2004 22:12 (twenty-one years ago)

Well if I can make a rash and obvious assumption about who you'dve dreamt about *grin*, then I can say no, not him :)

Still, it was a nice dream... la la anyway.

Trayce (trayce), Sunday, 28 March 2004 22:13 (twenty-one years ago)

No strangely enough it wasn't him. :)

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Sunday, 28 March 2004 22:16 (twenty-one years ago)

I woke up after a voice in my dream said, "I INSIST you get up!" Thanks, brain.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Sunday, 28 March 2004 23:32 (twenty-one years ago)

You dreams tell you to get up? Dude thats fucked up right there.

Trayce (trayce), Sunday, 28 March 2004 23:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Well, yes. That's what I thought.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Sunday, 28 March 2004 23:45 (twenty-one years ago)

Please don't call me dude.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Sunday, 28 March 2004 23:57 (twenty-one years ago)

the surface noise (electricsound), Sunday, 28 March 2004 23:58 (twenty-one years ago)

Trayce (trayce), Sunday, 28 March 2004 23:59 (twenty-one years ago)

Haha! Sorry.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Monday, 29 March 2004 00:02 (twenty-one years ago)

the music mole (colin s barrow), Monday, 29 March 2004 00:10 (twenty-one years ago)

Argh my eyes.

dyson (dyson), Monday, 29 March 2004 02:20 (twenty-one years ago)

I wanted to go to Montreal in winter, but my (ex) fiancee warned me off bothering, even he says its way too cold... but the SNOW! It looked so nice... I will come up that way one of these days..

Trayce (trayce), Monday, 29 March 2004 02:32 (twenty-one years ago)

"way too cold" = does not compute

the surface noise (electricsound), Monday, 29 March 2004 02:33 (twenty-one years ago)

Said like a true Melbournite.

Andrew (enneff), Monday, 29 March 2004 02:48 (twenty-one years ago)

day off and i am mighty fine! now if i can just get this pesky inner tube back in the tyre without puncturing the fucker...

mullygrubber (gaz), Monday, 29 March 2004 02:50 (twenty-one years ago)

Ha! Melbournites whine abt the cold when it dips to 5 degrees on a winter night!

THATS NOT COLD YOU WIMPS. I grew up in Canberra, where pipes freeze in winter, it never gets above 10 deg all day, and it snows and everything. Put hairs on my chest that did.

(ps not really)

Trayce (trayce), Monday, 29 March 2004 02:52 (twenty-one years ago)

now if i can just get this pesky inner tube back in the tyre without puncturing the fucker...

Kids euphemisms these days, I just can't keep up...

Trayce (trayce), Monday, 29 March 2004 02:58 (twenty-one years ago)

call that cold? where i were born it were always snowing and when it weren't snowin it were raining ice. there were 150 of us huddled together in an igloo, teeth chattering.

mullygrubber (gaz), Monday, 29 March 2004 02:59 (twenty-one years ago)

LOOXURY! When I were a lad I had to rub frost in my knickers just to stay warm, and on Sundays... *trails off into incoherent bad Python routines even roleplayers would fall asleep at the sound of*

Trayce (trayce), Monday, 29 March 2004 03:40 (twenty-one years ago)

whoever keeps breaking ILX is giving me the shits

the surface noise (electricsound), Monday, 29 March 2004 03:47 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah I sometimes MSN andrew and say "oi, poxy fule again" but i think its happening due to "too many connections" which may mean someones heavy on the searches or the database is falling over... i'm no coder so I dunno.

I mean, wtf is with the masses of googler traffic lately.

Trayce (trayce), Monday, 29 March 2004 04:02 (twenty-one years ago)

i like the pie.

Me too, dyson. And you get plenty of pie here, believe me.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Monday, 29 March 2004 04:14 (twenty-one years ago)

*furiously bites tounge*

Trayce (trayce), Monday, 29 March 2004 04:18 (twenty-one years ago)

mmmmm pie

the surface noise (electricsound), Monday, 29 March 2004 04:19 (twenty-one years ago)

I'd say there's more pie, and tastier, here in Aust and NZ, than in the rest of the world. Certainly, it's easier to come by.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Monday, 29 March 2004 04:37 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Monday, 29 March 2004 04:44 (twenty-one years ago)

Well you know the minute we have a go at the boys they'll say they were talking about pastries and are WE the dirty ones... tch ;)

Trayce (trayce), Monday, 29 March 2004 04:46 (twenty-one years ago)

We _were_ talking about pastries. Why? What did you think we were talking about?

the music mole (colin s barrow), Monday, 29 March 2004 05:04 (twenty-one years ago)

the surface noise (electricsound), Monday, 29 March 2004 05:05 (twenty-one years ago)

the music mole (colin s barrow), Monday, 29 March 2004 05:54 (twenty-one years ago)

mullygrubber (gaz), Monday, 29 March 2004 07:09 (twenty-one years ago)

mullygrubber (gaz), Monday, 29 March 2004 07:10 (twenty-one years ago)

dyson (dyson), Monday, 29 March 2004 07:52 (twenty-one years ago)

mully's right, dyson, if you're from the states (?), esp NY, you will be totally unimpressed with our pastries. We can, however, offer you crocodile kebabs.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Monday, 29 March 2004 09:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Guh, dyson's from Canada Col, geddit right! Yeesh ;)

I am developing a bad mood. I dont like getting grumpy. Work is giving me the irrits, my bf is being a forgetful somethingsomething and hasnt given me the rent money, I'm hungry, and I want to sit and daydream about people and situations and not be at work. *sigh*

the surface noise (electricsound), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 00:39 (twenty-one years ago)

I try and I try, I am constantly picking up after eeveryone (self included), cooking, washing, wtf ever and nothing works, I'm a slob and I can't make it better.

Man, I hate myself today.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 02:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Ahhh, it's not that bad just going to three different campuses before 1pm never makes me happy and getting lost and sweaty makes me even more annoyed, top that off with talking to doctors about "healthy vaginas" and it's all looking pretty grim.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 02:26 (twenty-one years ago)

so you have this senior jo*rn*list who is in charge of one of your biggest programmes. but theres a bit of tension there. so you give him a new job and a new title without consulting him. in a completely different area. doing something he knows nothing about. o, and theres someone who already does that.

and you ask me to find him somewhere to sit.

mullygrubber (gaz), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 02:26 (twenty-one years ago)

eep

the surface noise (electricsound), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 02:28 (twenty-one years ago)

mullygrubber (gaz), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 02:28 (twenty-one years ago)

oh i'm fine, i just end up talking about dumb stuff with doctors. Last time we started off talking about pap smears and ended up talking about cadavers and how doctors know what they're looking for inside people :)

the music mole (colin s barrow), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 03:30 (twenty-one years ago)

Or Beresnovatskaiakovski

the music mole (colin s barrow), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 03:32 (twenty-one years ago)

gaz - shame :( He may not even work there (now or ever), last I saw him was in Canberra and he was abt to move up there. Havent heard from him since. I hate it when friends disappear like that.

xpost henrys not russian! His last name is as English as a womble (B4rrington).

Col - nup, H3rr1ng. Shes doing copyright stuff apparently. She only started a week or 2 ago. I feel bad talking abt a friends job online in her absence! heh.

Trayce (trayce), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 03:33 (twenty-one years ago)

there goes my "must not drink mon-thurs" pledge.

mullygrubber (gaz), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 03:54 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes, show up hungover every morning, that should solve the problem.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 03:55 (twenty-one years ago)

i'll just tell people they have to wait cos i'm busy (journos love that) and then when i get around to it i'll read the process off my notes (the sames ones they have presumably) and fumble through it like i've never done it before and i'll then fuck it up anyway.

will that work?

mullygrubber (gaz), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 04:36 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes, that should work beautifully.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 04:42 (twenty-one years ago)

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 06:12 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes, side splitting.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 06:15 (twenty-one years ago)

only kidding. i just liked the comic

the surface noise (electricsound), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 06:16 (twenty-one years ago)

Why does the guitarist burn at the end? I didn't get it.

Well, we can't talk about pies without trayce, Ipso and co getting all crass on us. So let's pick another topic: tarts.

Dyson, there are a lot of tarts in Sydney. A Sydney tart goes down very easily.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 06:17 (twenty-one years ago)

jim, did you spot my faux pas on Mono?

the music mole (colin s barrow), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 06:19 (twenty-one years ago)

nothing will stop me being crass. maybe a stern talking to. i'd like that.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 06:19 (twenty-one years ago)

Damn, going home just when things are getting fun again. See ya.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 06:20 (twenty-one years ago)

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 06:23 (twenty-one years ago)

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 06:25 (twenty-one years ago)

the surface noise (electricsound), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 06:26 (twenty-one years ago)

the surface noise (electricsound), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 06:30 (twenty-one years ago)

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 06:31 (twenty-one years ago)

the surface noise (electricsound), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 06:39 (twenty-one years ago)

hi everyone. i'm still having erotic dreams about slash. this hair fetish of mine has gone TOO FAR.

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 06:43 (twenty-one years ago)

ewww, sounds like it :)

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 06:44 (twenty-one years ago)

two years ago i only liked guys with receding hairlines. i wish to find a comfortable middle ground.

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 06:48 (twenty-one years ago)

I think you need a guy with a mullet?

the music mole (colin s barrow), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 07:38 (twenty-one years ago)

um. on second thoughts i am comfortable with my crush on slash.

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 07:41 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm actually reading about Guns N Roses right now - 'Bang Your Head' by David Konow.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 08:02 (twenty-one years ago)

What a life those LA bands led.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 08:04 (twenty-one years ago)

andalusia is better than the rest of the world

Skottie, Tuesday, 30 March 2004 17:25 (twenty-one years ago)

i don't think i'm brave enough to read about guns n roses, best not destroy my fantasy that slash is nothing more than a beautiful piece of mighty mighty hair.

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 21:23 (twenty-one years ago)

the cutest part of the use your illusion concerts they've been playing on C4 was the part where slash gets hair in his mouth while hes trying to solo. the most vulgar part was everything axl wore. i don't think thats an authentic bulge in his black crushed velvet hotpants.

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 21:26 (twenty-one years ago)

pity its in the back

mullygrubber (gaz), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 21:30 (twenty-one years ago)

mullygrubber (gaz), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 22:53 (twenty-one years ago)

i'm ok. you know how it is.

the surface noise (electricsound), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 23:01 (twenty-one years ago)

" don't think thats an authentic bulge in his black crushed velvet hotpants"

Surely you're mistaken.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 23:04 (twenty-one years ago)

Can I just use this opportunity to say M TRAM YOU ARE A PACK OF CUNTS.

My tram was 15 mins late, and then drove REALLY SLOWLY all the way to richmond despite there being no traffc. I was 20 mins late for work, and Im starving as this also meant no brekky stop :(

CRANX0R.

Trayce (trayce), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 23:37 (twenty-one years ago)

yeah this last week or so the trams have been really really appalling, way more than they usually are

the surface noise (electricsound), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 23:38 (twenty-one years ago)

but i have "matrimonial fears" playing on my headphones and it cheers me up immensely

the surface noise (electricsound), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 23:38 (twenty-one years ago)

Thankx for beers last night too btw, that was good to get out of the house etc :)

Trayce (trayce), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 23:41 (twenty-one years ago)

yay

it was rather nice to have a beer or two and not get wasted for once

the surface noise (electricsound), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 23:42 (twenty-one years ago)

you won't find me in the church my dear, i'll leave you in the lurch :)

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 23:42 (twenty-one years ago)

i'm using you using youuuuuu

the surface noise (electricsound), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 23:44 (twenty-one years ago)

teehee, you're right. They are nasty lyrics to a catchy song!

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 23:48 (twenty-one years ago)

haha 20 mins late haha

call that late? in sydney we have to wait up to 2 hours for our train to come and when it does arrive the aircon doesn't work, its packed to the gills and the driver is so overworked he's drunk. then it takes another 2 hours to shunt the 5 miles home.

mullygrubber (gaz), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 23:55 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes, mully's not exaggerating.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 23:58 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah but you live in Sydney, their trains always sucked ;)

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 00:00 (twenty-one years ago)

yeah when they aren't late they've come off the tracks completely.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 00:02 (twenty-one years ago)

on the other hand the people you travel with come from a dizzying array of ethnic backgrounds and make for fascinating company in the long waits. They are very friendly and will engage in erudite conversations about politics, culture and art - each offering their own viewpoint yet welcoming and rejoicing in difference. I have often been stranded - angry and frustrated - in a hot non moving carriage when a group of these wonderful folk have transformed the carriage into a kind of party venue!

mullygrubber (gaz), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 00:11 (twenty-one years ago)

Or, if the carriage stops in a tunnel, an impromptu orgy.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 00:14 (twenty-one years ago)

ahh now the truth comes out about why sydneysiders *really* think it's better than melbourne

the surface noise (electricsound), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 00:16 (twenty-one years ago)

and on my line we officially have the longest tunnel in the southern hemisphere (true).

mullygrubber (gaz), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 00:16 (twenty-one years ago)

showoff

the surface noise (electricsound), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 00:18 (twenty-one years ago)

chip on yer shoulder about the length of melbourne tunnels eh?

mullygrubber (gaz), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 00:19 (twenty-one years ago)

Not only are the tunnels better, we have faster, bigger, better oiled trains.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 00:20 (twenty-one years ago)

that tend to crash.

if they are moving that is.

which isn't often.

mullygrubber (gaz), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 00:22 (twenty-one years ago)

fast, bigger, better, oiled? I'm there!!

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 00:35 (twenty-one years ago)

*bebopaloobump*

the music mole (colin s barrow), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 02:47 (twenty-one years ago)

hi col! we just got the new vines and the new hoodoo gurus in the mail and we are all rocking on and talking about drum kits and stuff.

mullygrubber (gaz), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 02:59 (twenty-one years ago)

haha "new" vines

the surface noise (electricsound), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 03:00 (twenty-one years ago)

are you suggesting these new releases aren't on the cutting edge? how about steriogram: schmack!

mullygrubber (gaz), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 03:03 (twenty-one years ago)

"new" "vines" "album" is almost entirely made up of songs that were on pre-highly evolved demos which tends to indicate mr nicholls' muse has taken its leave of absence

the surface noise (electricsound), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 03:05 (twenty-one years ago)

he has a muse?

the music mole (colin s barrow), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 03:06 (twenty-one years ago)

well it did sound a bit old hat i must admit.

mullygrubber (gaz), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 03:07 (twenty-one years ago)

muse = sitting around on his ass all day smoking doobage

the surface noise (electricsound), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 03:08 (twenty-one years ago)

The cover art is SHIT. What an up himself nob.

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 03:09 (twenty-one years ago)

we also got yellowcard: whodat?

mullygrubber (gaz), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 03:12 (twenty-one years ago)

Tall poppy syndrome - we got it.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 03:12 (twenty-one years ago)

Fugg tall poppies, the Vines have always irritated my knickers. Theres something about the way he sings that looks so... childish.

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 03:13 (twenty-one years ago)

not heard yellowcard

the surface noise (electricsound), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 03:13 (twenty-one years ago)

they sound like the vines.

mullygrubber (gaz), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 03:16 (twenty-one years ago)

' the Vines have always irritated my knickers'

Haha! Sorry. Yes, look, I don't like the face pulling either. I feel he's too cute and cuddly to be a true rock star. But then again, here I am at my desk, and there he is, trading the world stage.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 03:18 (twenty-one years ago)

treading

the music mole (colin s barrow), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 03:18 (twenty-one years ago)

"psst... wanna buy a stage?"

the surface noise (electricsound), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 03:19 (twenty-one years ago)

its like with hollywood. actors used to be real men. now they're doe eyed boys. same with rock stars.

mullygrubber (gaz), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 03:20 (twenty-one years ago)

Mind you I have no problem with doe eyed boys.

They just should be in my bed, not up on stage.

Uhh.

Down, girl *slaps self*

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 03:22 (twenty-one years ago)

Trayce you've been surprisingly saucy lately!

actually i just looked in the vines cover: didn't he use to be in savage garden?

mullygrubber (gaz), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 03:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Anyone got a link to the cover?

Wow, that's seriously stoned hippychick up the front there.

new" "vines" "album" is almost entirely made up of songs that were on pre-highly evolved demos
-- the surface noise

How do you know jim?

the music mole (colin s barrow), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 03:36 (twenty-one years ago)

That "stoned hippychick" is meant to be Craig isnt it?

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 03:37 (twenty-one years ago)

the other band members are just monochrome and indistinct compared to his stoned colourful majesty.

mullygrubber (gaz), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 03:40 (twenty-one years ago)

Look - it's Lucy! In the sky! With diamonds!

the music mole (colin s barrow), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 03:41 (twenty-one years ago)

How do you know jim?

i've heard many of said demos. three of the tracks on the new album were b-sides of earlier singles too.. poor show.

the surface noise (electricsound), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 03:42 (twenty-one years ago)

oh.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 03:42 (twenty-one years ago)

so, ah, jim : if it had been all new material...?

mullygrubber (gaz), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 03:45 (twenty-one years ago)

ehh, i might have been a little less harsh. i actually like quite a lot of the last album.

the surface noise (electricsound), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 03:47 (twenty-one years ago)

my colleagues have replaced my glorious aussie rock with ye-ye. trendy fucks.

mullygrubber (gaz), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 03:53 (twenty-one years ago)

i know i wasn't going to whine but but but...why do i get all the psycho mop phone calls? i just got accused of being from the cia and having changed sex. she was astonished that i couldn't help her. she planned to call sen alston.

mullygrubber (gaz), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 04:15 (twenty-one years ago)

Bwahaha! why the hell did someone say that to you? DO you work on a helpdesk?

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 04:15 (twenty-one years ago)

no. i will hunt down the person who transferred this to me. i have no idea who she was.

mullygrubber (gaz), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 04:18 (twenty-one years ago)

yeah, right.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 04:22 (twenty-one years ago)

sorry. Just joking. I'm a little frisky today. I appear to have worked out some psychological problems and am revelling in the feeling of lightness and freedom. Tralala!

the music mole (colin s barrow), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 04:54 (twenty-one years ago)

yeah, right.

mullygrubber (gaz), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 04:54 (twenty-one years ago)

the surface noise (electricsound), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 04:55 (twenty-one years ago)

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 04:55 (twenty-one years ago)

mmm drugs. Err.

I'm bored. Someone find me an interesting job. Working here is killing me slowly.

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 05:01 (twenty-one years ago)

'i just cooked up.'

I'm confused ipso. You are taking culinary credit for this pick-me-up snack? Well then, I just whipped up a cup of tea. And earlier, I prepared a bottle of milk and a teaspoon of sugar.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 05:03 (twenty-one years ago)

Don't worry Trayce, once your IT dept discover your last post on this thread you'll be looking for a new job in no time.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 05:04 (twenty-one years ago)

the surface noise (electricsound), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 05:06 (twenty-one years ago)

The drugs don't work, they just make you worse, jim.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 05:13 (twenty-one years ago)

Hey man. *I* crushed up the garlic and mixed it with the olive oil and then *toasted* the thing in my sandwich maker so I lay claim to having *made* it!! :)

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 05:20 (twenty-one years ago)

Did you ever see an SBS show called 'Gourmet Ireland' ipsy? It was hilarious. They'd make a ham sandwich, or a plain salad and it'd be this huge deal.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 05:28 (twenty-one years ago)

nah i don't watch that shitty channel...that was for mully. I actually quite enjoy the old SBS.

seriously though, i didn't see it, however there is a simimlarly shit program on briz31 up here where some old codger makes "bush" cuisine which nearly always seems to involve pouring half a cask of lambrusco in on whatever he's making.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 05:34 (twenty-one years ago)

Look - it's Lucy! In the sky! With diamonds!

the surface noise (electricsound), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 09:24 (twenty-one years ago)

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 21:45 (twenty-one years ago)

hi Dr Nick, er, Lurex!

the surface noise (electricsound), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 21:52 (twenty-one years ago)

Hi Di!

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 21:52 (twenty-one years ago)

hello!

mullygrubber (gaz), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 21:53 (twenty-one years ago)

sorry to hear about your furniture jim.

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 22:23 (twenty-one years ago)

hey at least he's still got the white goods, *thats* the expensive part.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 22:27 (twenty-one years ago)

yay! yeah it'll be ok, my house will be spartan for a while but i can pretend the extra space is a dance floor. i can have my vinyl in the lounge room once more!

the surface noise (electricsound), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 22:35 (twenty-one years ago)

pretend? it IS a dance floor!

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 22:39 (twenty-one years ago)

I'd sell you some of my old furniture if you actually thought it was worth having, Jim. I need new shelving and things.

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 23:27 (twenty-one years ago)

actually shelves are the one thing i'm ok for!

the surface noise (electricsound), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 23:28 (twenty-one years ago)

My stuff is all way old anyway! Well the stuff I want to replace. That old small couch really needs replacing, and I want to buy a new small dining set to stick in the lounge... dammit I need way more stuff than Ive money :(

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 23:30 (twenty-one years ago)

sell Nick

the surface noise (electricsound), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 23:33 (twenty-one years ago)

Heh. If I said "I dont think I'd get much for him" do you think he will kill me? =)

(ps hi darling just kidding hehehehe ... uuh...LOOK A MOOSE)

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 23:34 (twenty-one years ago)

all my furniture comes from the side of the road. how's melbourne for those pickings?

mullygrubber (gaz), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 23:41 (twenty-one years ago)

pretty shoddy. i could have had a tatty stained mattress for free until this morning if i'd wanted it though

the surface noise (electricsound), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 23:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Actually lately it was good cus it was hard rubbish day or month or whatever, only in my suburb, they nominated a hard rubbish day and no one ever came and took anything (so it seemed). There were chairs and piles of chopped wood and old microwaves and stoves and all kinds of shit around.

Isnt it technically illegal now to nick stuff left out for hard rubbish or Salvos?

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 23:43 (twenty-one years ago)

the council *finally* took away the hard rubbish, two days late. bastards. i was going to ring them today.

the surface noise (electricsound), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 23:45 (twenty-one years ago)

is it? shit, now you guys have something over me, eh? DON'T TELL THE POLICE MY HOUSE IS FULL OF ILLEGAL OLD SHABBY THROWN OUT FURNITURE.

mullygrubber (gaz), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 23:46 (twenty-one years ago)

i don't know about the salvos but apparently the hard rubbish people LOVE that scavengers do half their job for them

the surface noise (electricsound), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 23:46 (twenty-one years ago)

When its hard rubbish I always see loads of old Russian and Polish pensioners rummaging in peoples garbage and piles of crap.

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 23:48 (twenty-one years ago)

they must hate it when it rains

mullygrubber (gaz), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 23:49 (twenty-one years ago)

Here in Brisbane they encourage people to take what they want from other peoples piles. In fact I have the mail-out from the council on the fridge and the exact words are "Leave your footpath as clear as possible -do not leave a mess if you recover items from someone else's pile"

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 23:49 (twenty-one years ago)

my dad is a czech pensioner i must have got it from him.

mullygrubber (gaz), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 23:50 (twenty-one years ago)

ha! We left on old monitor and dryer out for collection and it rained overnight, the next day someone had taken both of them. I mean who takes chances with dicarded electrical items let alone ones that have been rained on anyway?

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 23:51 (twenty-one years ago)

russian pensioners

mullygrubber (gaz), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 23:52 (twenty-one years ago)

Its kind of cool really, I mean its like trading innit? Why not leave free stuff for others to have, and take stuff you need.

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 23:52 (twenty-one years ago)

you should try it with your furniture Trayce!

mullygrubber (gaz), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 23:53 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah except Im not gonna find a fancy new Freedom couch on the side of the road to replace it am I :P

Trayce (trayce), Thursday, 1 April 2004 00:00 (twenty-one years ago)

Hey, you never know, pick the right suburb and who knows what you'll find :)

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Thursday, 1 April 2004 00:09 (twenty-one years ago)

this is true. a friend found a case of semi decent red.

mullygrubber (gaz), Thursday, 1 April 2004 00:11 (twenty-one years ago)

Who the hell tosses a case of red by the roadside?

Unless it'd been delivered and left out front and wasnt meant to be taken... haha.

Trayce (trayce), Thursday, 1 April 2004 00:14 (twenty-one years ago)

i think it was missing one bottle. we were trawling the snooty suburbs on collection night.

mullygrubber (gaz), Thursday, 1 April 2004 00:15 (twenty-one years ago)

maybe it wasn't wine in them bottles.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Thursday, 1 April 2004 00:17 (twenty-one years ago)

Damn, I gotta hie me to Toorak next time its hard rubbish by the sounds of it then.

Trayce (trayce), Thursday, 1 April 2004 00:18 (twenty-one years ago)

maybe it was mob wine and us idiotic young guys fouled up some kind of secret exchange

mullygrubber (gaz), Thursday, 1 April 2004 00:20 (twenty-one years ago)

So THATS why they're all being gunned down in Carlton restaurants lately! ;)

Trayce (trayce), Thursday, 1 April 2004 00:21 (twenty-one years ago)

What are you drunks up to now? I do some actual work for a day and this breaks out.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 1 April 2004 00:21 (twenty-one years ago)

anyways big red rod gave me none cos i'd slashed his leather lounge doing a hitler impersonation earlier so maybe it wasn't wine as ipso said

mullygrubber (gaz), Thursday, 1 April 2004 00:22 (twenty-one years ago)

i have 2 black lady lamps! obv thrown out by someone far too pc!

mullygrubber (gaz), Thursday, 1 April 2004 00:23 (twenty-one years ago)

mullygrubber (gaz), Thursday, 1 April 2004 00:41 (twenty-one years ago)

mullygrubber (gaz), Thursday, 1 April 2004 01:37 (twenty-one years ago)

I thought the pensioner was supposed to flash you. That's the world turned upside down for me then. I don't know whether I'm Arthur or Martha. Figs are growing upon thorns.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Thursday, 1 April 2004 01:48 (twenty-one years ago)

Hmmm...he could've flashed back. I guess my "wares" just weren't doing it for him. Maybe he was fishing around for his viagra?
