Ronan909: the sad truth is i was probably like
Ronan909: "go away OMG VITALIC"

runmdc79: AND SHE DUMPED HIM FOR AN OLDER MAN
Ronan909: 13
Ronan909: fuck sake
runmdc79: Now she is 18, and The Hottness, and they are back together

Ronan909: no i do
Ronan909: im bad too
Ronan909: go for it
runmdc79: early 40s, I think
runmdc79: It was on NYE 1997-98
Ronan909: oh you beat me
runmdc79: And her husband was apparently behind her
Ronan909: though
runmdc79: go on
Ronan909: i picked my moment poorly
Ronan909: at my brothers wedding i snogged a mate of his wife
Ronan909: 39!
Ronan909: i was 19 at the time
Ronan909: and get this
Ronan909: as far as my brother and their friends knew
Ronan909: SHE WAS A LESBIAN
Ronan909: hahahaha
runmdc79: you are the greatest human being that has ever lived

Matt DC (Matt DC), Sunday, 23 May 2004 22:02 (twenty-one years ago)

I'd like to say I'm surprised, but... I'm not.

When I was 21 I shagged an 18-year old ballet dancer. It was rubbish. When I was 21 I also got a blowjob off a 26-year old South African girl, who had been in the sixth form when we were in the second year, and we all fancied her on the bus.

Sick Mouthy (Nick Southall), Sunday, 23 May 2004 22:07 (twenty-one years ago)

I am willing to bet a considerable sum I will regret starting this thread in 12 hours time.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Sunday, 23 May 2004 22:14 (twenty-one years ago)

As I said, I've made my peace with my crap sex life.

Ronan (Ronan), Sunday, 23 May 2004 22:15 (twenty-one years ago)

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Sunday, 23 May 2004 22:21 (twenty-one years ago)

My youngest is also 14, but I was also 14 at the time. Moments later I snogged her twin sister. Its been frankly downhill ever since.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Sunday, 23 May 2004 22:22 (twenty-one years ago)

Tearz of laughter that is.

stockholm cindy (Jody Beth Rosen), Sunday, 23 May 2004 22:45 (twenty-one years ago)

15 (she claimed 19 and I quit it immediately once I found out) and 38 (she was not haggard at all; quite presentable in fact). Last year and two months ago. I'm 24.

LC, Sunday, 23 May 2004 22:47 (twenty-one years ago)

There are 38 year olds WHO haven't gone completely to pot?!?!? Where are these mythical non-saggy people!??!

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Sunday, 23 May 2004 22:47 (twenty-one years ago)

When I was 12 I kissed my sister's then-best-friend who was 15 at the time. I thought that was pretty cool.

Andrew (enneff), Sunday, 23 May 2004 22:48 (twenty-one years ago)

When I was 17 my bro went out with a 17 year old. He's nine years older than me.

Sick Mouthy (Nick Southall), Sunday, 23 May 2004 22:48 (twenty-one years ago)

she claimed 19 and I quit it immediately once I found out

how many months later was it when you found out?

kyle (akmonday), Sunday, 23 May 2004 22:48 (twenty-one years ago)

36.

Sick Mouthy (Nick Southall), Sunday, 23 May 2004 22:48 (twenty-one years ago)

"I'm pulling out right NOW!"

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Sunday, 23 May 2004 22:49 (twenty-one years ago)

the surface noise made by people (electricsound), Sunday, 23 May 2004 22:57 (twenty-one years ago)

38 (she was not haggard at all; quite presentable in fact).

Meanwhile she tells her friends, "24, he actually could find my clitoris and managed to last more than two minutes!"

Ask For Samantha (thatgirl), Sunday, 23 May 2004 23:18 (twenty-one years ago)

You are making an awfully big assumption there, Sam.

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Sunday, 23 May 2004 23:23 (twenty-one years ago)

i've had a couple of good 24 yr-olds. guess I can't assume they represent the lot however.

Ask For Samantha (thatgirl), Sunday, 23 May 2004 23:27 (twenty-one years ago)

Alex chill out drama king - I just meant I'd never been with anyone close to that age before and was pleasantly surprised to have my misconceptions revoked and now I probabyl have a much higher regard for older twiznat - sorry if it came off all ageist. Sam, watch out when you make assumptions - I RARELY break the two minute mark.

LC, Sunday, 23 May 2004 23:29 (twenty-one years ago)

fifteen and 21?? i have some work to be doing.

Ian Johnson (orion), Sunday, 23 May 2004 23:32 (twenty-one years ago)

HOW OLD IS YOUR MOM IAN??

Be sure to Loop! Loop, Loop, Loop. (ex machina), Sunday, 23 May 2004 23:35 (twenty-one years ago)

17 (but when i was 20, so thats nothing really), and 42 when I was 21. And 18 when I was 30, which is much more statisfying *evil grin*.

Trayce (trayce), Sunday, 23 May 2004 23:39 (twenty-one years ago)

my mom is like 45 i think! maybe 46?

Ian Johnson (orion), Sunday, 23 May 2004 23:39 (twenty-one years ago)

ftr, 18 & 37 though I shall not reveal my respective ages as it makes those numbers rather boring.

Ask For Samantha (thatgirl), Sunday, 23 May 2004 23:46 (twenty-one years ago)

So, Strongo, you said you weren't legal for the 43-year-old. Do you consider yourself the victim of statutory rape? Or just precocious?

Skottie, Monday, 24 May 2004 00:01 (twenty-one years ago)

i consider myself a dorky teenage boy who would have slept with medusa had she presented herself to me

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Monday, 24 May 2004 00:03 (twenty-one years ago)

21 and 35. I was 18 for both.

mandee, Monday, 24 May 2004 00:05 (twenty-one years ago)

VengaDan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 24 May 2004 00:08 (twenty-one years ago)

I am disappointed in you, Dan.

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Monday, 24 May 2004 00:27 (twenty-one years ago)

Chris 'The Velvet Bingo' V (Chris V), Monday, 24 May 2004 10:11 (twenty-one years ago)

6 years younger, 12 years older.

but the scandalous ones were when i was 16 and pulling 22/23 year old college guys. mmmmm. college swimmers. mmmmmm.

colette (a2lette), Monday, 24 May 2004 10:23 (twenty-one years ago)

The biggest gaps:

18 when I was 23

38 when I was 22

Anna (Anna), Monday, 24 May 2004 10:29 (twenty-one years ago)

My friend V was taken out to dinner a few times by a proper silver fox. She terminated it quickly when she realsied she was younger than his daughter.

Anna (Anna), Monday, 24 May 2004 10:30 (twenty-one years ago)

has anyone ever topped their first kiss?

a bit harsh.

ken c (ken c), Monday, 24 May 2004 10:38 (twenty-one years ago)

even if they were really crap

ken c (ken c), Monday, 24 May 2004 10:38 (twenty-one years ago)

my first kiss was pretty lame, every subsequent one (not counting the others with the same person) has been better.

J.D. (Justyn Dillingham), Monday, 24 May 2004 10:39 (twenty-one years ago)

y: 17 o: 24

ken c (ken c), Monday, 24 May 2004 10:40 (twenty-one years ago)

Ronan (Ronan), Monday, 24 May 2004 10:42 (twenty-one years ago)

18 when i was 17
24 when i was 23

i don't think i've ever pulled anyone more than two or three years older than me. i haven't ever pulled anyone younger than myself, though.

toby (tsg20), Monday, 24 May 2004 10:50 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm so tempted to post here as I would be winning the "oldest" award. But what a thread to make my 2nd-or-3rd post to ILE after a 5 month hiatus!

Vic (Vic), Monday, 24 May 2004 10:56 (twenty-one years ago)

Okay now that I made a proper "hello again" ILE thread I don't feel weird about randomly revealing this on here.

youngest: 15 or 16 ? i'd like to think 16...it was 3 days after I turned 20

oldest: woman-wise it was 46, man-wise 48. and it was just a few months ago; i'm 23. there are actually sad stories to go with each, especially the man. very touching.

Vic (Vic), Monday, 24 May 2004 11:12 (twenty-one years ago)

and it was my professor in college. she liked to fuck to joy division.

Chris 'The Velvet Bingo' V (Chris V), Monday, 24 May 2004 11:18 (twenty-one years ago)

14 → 26?

Be sure to Loop! Loop, Loop, Loop. (ex machina), Monday, 24 May 2004 11:20 (twenty-one years ago)

Hmmm. Youngest was 15, I was 23, not especially proud of myself for that one. Biggest gap was 18-30 (I was 18), it was alright I guess, apart from the hideous red basque. Oldest - 32, but I was 27 so, like, whatever.

But can anyone top this - the first girl I ever kissed was MARRIED...

CharlieNo4 (Charlie), Monday, 24 May 2004 11:24 (twenty-one years ago)

wait...pulled means more than just "kissed" correct ?

Vic (Vic), Monday, 24 May 2004 11:29 (twenty-one years ago)

Pulled can mean kissed, shagged, gone out with, generally anything involving some exchange of body fluids.

CharlieNo4 (Charlie), Monday, 24 May 2004 11:31 (twenty-one years ago)

Kissing your Gran does not count, unless there were tongues.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Monday, 24 May 2004 11:33 (twenty-one years ago)

Oldest was 16 years older, youngest was 6 months younger.

leigh (leigh), Monday, 24 May 2004 12:04 (twenty-one years ago)

the first girl I ever kissed was MARRIED...

Ronan and I have already beaten you. Tough luck, Charlie.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 24 May 2004 12:05 (twenty-one years ago)

actually that's probably true. damn me and my vaguely not-reprehensible sexual past!

CharlieNo4 (Charlie), Monday, 24 May 2004 12:26 (twenty-one years ago)

until last year i'd never had anything to do with anyone younger than me ever, then i had a fleeting involvement with a woman who was 24. i was 29. the upper end of the scale i'm not going to bother going into because it's not very interesting.

Dave Stelfox (Dave Stelfox), Monday, 24 May 2004 12:33 (twenty-one years ago)

17 when i was 23
31 when i was 27

Liz :x (Liz :x), Tuesday, 25 May 2004 08:10 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh actually youngest is like 7 or something (for both parties) if you count playground kisschase with menaces.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Tuesday, 25 May 2004 08:11 (twenty-one years ago)

well if we're getting that silly my mom has a photograph of me running naked in the sprinklers with a neighborhood girl and we're both like 3. Which made me think of a subquestion: How old were you when you got your first glimpse of the genetalia of the opposite sex? I was 3...

AaronHz (AaronHz), Tuesday, 25 May 2004 09:38 (twenty-one years ago)

duh, typo:genitalia.
....and what did you think of it? Being 3, I'm pretty sure I thought, "Wow, that's a weird pee pee!"

AaronHz (AaronHz), Tuesday, 25 May 2004 09:43 (twenty-one years ago)

Dude, pulling was defined as kissing etc. above.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Tuesday, 25 May 2004 09:44 (twenty-one years ago)

yeah yeah, I know. answer the subquestion.

VengaDan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 25 May 2004 16:19 (twenty-one years ago)

How old were you when you got your first glimpse of the genetalia of the opposite sex? I was 3...

Dude, I can't even remember. I'm Finnish.

As for the age question: when I was 19 I started to date with a 15-year old. Sadly, I don't think I've ever "pulled" anyone older than me.

Tuomas (Tuomas), Tuesday, 25 May 2004 16:30 (twenty-one years ago)

Actually, technically speaking, most guys get a glimpse of female genitalia at the age 0.

Tuomas (Tuomas), Tuesday, 25 May 2004 16:31 (twenty-one years ago)

Ew, your eyes were open???

VengaDan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 25 May 2004 16:38 (twenty-one years ago)

18 when I was 23, 38 when I was 28.

Tuomas (Tuomas), Tuesday, 25 May 2004 16:40 (twenty-one years ago)

of course I meant the first time you can actually remember seeing the opposite sex's naked crotch. And anyone who says they remember coming out of their mother's vagina is fucking lying.

AaronHz (AaronHz), Tuesday, 25 May 2004 19:14 (twenty-one years ago)

18 when I was 21

Try to keep personal slams against other posters to a minimum, and if you start not enjoying it take a break rather than try to stop other people enjoying it too.

Less meta, more salacious stories.

Matt DC, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 09:28 (seventeen years ago)

21 when i was 15. she was a camp counselor, we kissed. she said "it's not the same after they're 15" (in response to my ideas about, like, going on a hike next year)

Tracer Hand, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 09:47 (seventeen years ago)

although actually the biggest diff was 30 when i was 23. i actually made the mistake of falling in love with her. she said her friend told her "yeah he's really great. it's just too bad he's not 30!" :/

Tracer Hand, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 09:49 (seventeen years ago)

these women, they can't make up their minds!

Tracer Hand, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 09:52 (seventeen years ago)

she said "it's not the same after they're 15" (in response to my ideas about, like, going on a hike next year)

I really hope she was just making excuses and not being serious!

My answers are still the same as upthread, mercifully.

^^^Have felt this pain

Dom Passantino, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 09:54 (seventeen years ago)

Although in my case I think it was "yeah he's really great. it's just too bad he's not 30 and a sociopath"

Dom Passantino, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 09:54 (seventeen years ago)

instead of 23 and a sociopath?

Actually I think my biggest downward gap may now be 20 at the age of 28. Mercifully she didn't say "yeah he's really great, shame he's nearly 30" because the shame alone would probably have killed me.

Dom Passantino, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 10:06 (seventeen years ago)

2 years old.

Granted, I was the same age.

nathalie, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 10:27 (seventeen years ago)

Damn, you were pulling at 2? Smooth! Through kindergarten I just went "lolz let us put kisses on each other's mouths :))"
Youngest, uh, 15, I think. I was 18 and thought she was 17, but one day when I was at her place, her younger brother went "y'know she's 15, right?"
So I didn't feel right about going all the way there. Next thing I heard she'd achieved poppage with some 31-yr old dude. Yay!
Oldest? Uh, 28 or something. Bonus: A friend's mother groped me when I was 14. Y'know how they say people come to look like their dogs? She had a particularly ugly bulldog. Worst ever.

Øystein, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 10:35 (seventeen years ago)

I think the youngest person I've been with was 15, but I was 18 at the time. The biggest age gap was probably 7 years, I was 27 and she was 20. The oldest person I've been was the same age as me, 28, this year.

This counts only for sex, I can't remember everyone I kissed with, nor have I necessarily known their ages. I'm pretty sure I've made out with someone older than me at least twice.

Tuomas, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 10:49 (seventeen years ago)

16 when I was 16 and 37 when I was 27

gem, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 10:56 (seventeen years ago)

This makes me wonder, why does it still seem to be the rule that guys don't generally date girls older than themselves? I guess in the olden days, at least among, the husband needed to be older so he could support his family, but that's hardly an explanation anymore. Has it to do with idea that girls may find guys who're the same age or older somewhat immature?

Tuomas, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 10:59 (seventeen years ago)

actually, that's not quite right... I went out with a 22 yo when I was 25 and a 23yo when I was 26 (xpost)

gem, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 11:00 (seventeen years ago)

I nearly always go out with older guys. When I was younger it was the maturity thing... now, I dunno? Maybe I just am attractive to older guys? My current bf is 36 and I'm 31

gem, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 11:01 (seventeen years ago)

I think it's more "girls don't date guys younger than themselves" as a rule.

Mark G, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 11:03 (seventeen years ago)

On the age difference thing:
Oldest, well I messed around with a married woman for a while earlier this year, she was in her early 40s.
Youngest, I was 20 or 21 and she was, er "16".

DavidM, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 11:13 (seventeen years ago)

My oldest girlfriend was 13 years older than me - I was 23 when we started, we went out together for about 6 years. Do I win?

nate woolls, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 11:14 (seventeen years ago)

xpost: I would (and have) totally date a younger guy if the opportunity arose! I had a massive crush on a male friend who was 5 years younger than me through 2005 and 2006. He only dated girls younger than him though! What a conundrum

gem, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 11:19 (seventeen years ago)

i've mostly pulled older guys, i think the youngest has only been a year or so younger than me. oldest= i was 22, he was 39. it was pretty rubbish.

Rubyredd, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 11:23 (seventeen years ago)

"Damn, you were pulling at 2? "

course not. merely snogged. :-)

nathalie, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 11:24 (seventeen years ago)

wait - i forgot about a fling i had last year after i split with my ex: i was 27, he was 46. also pretty rubbish; he had *performance problems*

Rubyredd, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 11:27 (seventeen years ago)

"i've mostly pulled older guys"

decided on?

kenan, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 11:34 (seventeen years ago)

what?

Rubyredd, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 11:36 (seventeen years ago)

oldest would have been about ?45? when i was seventeen, youngest, relatively speaking would have been around 16 when i was 18. i did go out with her for six years, though. it was less of an issue by that stage.

darraghmac, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 11:38 (seventeen years ago)

I think it's more "girls don't date guys younger than themselves" as a rule.

Yeah, but where does this rule come from?

Tuomas, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 11:38 (seventeen years ago)

older guy/girls are 'cool', and girls aren't desperate.

I mean, you didn't just pull older guys by accident, anymore than I dated an above-avg amount of girls with glasses.

kenan, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 11:40 (seventeen years ago)

ahhhh - i've preferred older guys. but interestingly, jordan is almost exactly a year younger than me.

Rubyredd, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 11:43 (seventeen years ago)

Relative to my age, 20 when I was 28 and 24 when I was 17. In absolute terms, 14 and 33.

Mark C, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 11:44 (seventeen years ago)

Haha Kenan, I haven't had a single proper girlfriend who didn't need her eyesight fixed.

Mark C, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 11:44 (seventeen years ago)

WHAT?

xpost lol

Tracer Hand, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 11:45 (seventeen years ago)

older guy/girls are 'cool', and girls aren't desperate.

But why are they cool? Is this "rule" just some remnant from some older era, or is there some reasonable explanation for it?

Tuomas, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 11:45 (seventeen years ago)

yeah they have cars.

darraghmac, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 11:45 (seventeen years ago)

But even among my hippie friend this rule seems to apply, even though they could care less about cars or wealth or stuff like that.

Tuomas, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 11:47 (seventeen years ago)

Pulled just means snogged, right?

Mark C, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 11:47 (seventeen years ago)

perceptions of maturity/intelligence no?

sorry, i was choked by all the mud...

kenan, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 11:53 (seventeen years ago)

perceptions of maturity/intelligence no?

Yeah, this is the only explanation i could think of. But I still don't see why, in a relationship, it's the guy who needs to be more mature? So he can protect her?

Tuomas, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 11:53 (seventeen years ago)

it's the guy who "needs" to be more mature because it's the girl -- at least on relatively equal ground -- who tends to actually BE more mature.

kenan, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 11:57 (seventeen years ago)

Well, girls find "immature guys" irritating, whereas older guys don't mind the reverse as much.

Of course, generalisation city arizona!

Mark G, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 11:57 (seventeen years ago)

older women are wrinkly and saggy, obviously.

darraghmac, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 11:59 (seventeen years ago)

j/k how do i meet cougars

darraghmac, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 12:00 (seventeen years ago)

Well, girls find "immature guys" irritating

oh, keep it down, Trayce is listening ;)

kenan, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 12:02 (seventeen years ago)

Well, girls find "immature guys" irritating, whereas older guys don't mind the reverse as much.

So it all boils down to what girls and guys want out of a relationship? Girls want security and stability, whereas guys want firm asses and non-saggy boobs?

Tuomas, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 12:05 (seventeen years ago)

i forgot how to log out.

kenan, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 12:10 (seventeen years ago)

the majority of relationships i know of are about the same age, so i don't for a minute accept that that's true tuomas.

where there is a difference in age, then it's probably more likely to be the male that's older, but this isn't like an epidemic that we can draw that kind of conclusion from, even as a straw man.

darraghmac, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 12:11 (seventeen years ago)

Relative to my age -
Youngest - 19, me 24
Oldest - 36, me 24
those were within weeks of each other! That's just drunken snogs though. Relationships would be younger - 21, me 24 & older - 30, me 26 (and we're now married)

Colonel Poo, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 12:16 (seventeen years ago)

it's the guy who "needs" to be more mature because it's the girl -- at least on relatively equal ground -- who tends to actually BE more mature.

This is where the rule comes from but it's ridiculous that there are women that subscribe to it without considering whether a particular younger might actually not fit the model. The idea that a woman going out with a younger guy makes her some sort of Mrs Robinson is fuckin' dum.

I'm obviously speaking from bitter personal experience here. She was 24, i was 22 - wtf?

Upt0eleven, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 12:19 (seventeen years ago)

I have to assume that Tuomas means more than he is expressing...

"So it all boils down to what girls and guys want out of a relationship?"

Um... YES! Unless you feel it's ordained by God to be something way bigger, something that most mere humans can't handle. But oh man, I hope I don't get into those kinda relationships.

kenan, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 12:20 (seventeen years ago)

I'm still kind boggling that Mark C kissed a 14-year-old! Or was it the other way around?

Tracer Hand, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 12:27 (seventeen years ago)

but presumably, when he was not much older than that?

Upt0eleven, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 12:29 (seventeen years ago)

is this pulled as in sexed or just kissed?
anyway, don't know kiss one, but here's the other.

16ish (only found out later) when i was 22 and 36 when i was 25, can't fault either of 'em.

not_goodwin, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 12:31 (seventeen years ago)

xpost hopefully. Because if she's 14, there's no other way 'round.

kenan, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 12:31 (seventeen years ago)

"So it all boils down to what girls and guys want out of a relationship?"

Um... YES! Unless you feel it's ordained by God to be something way bigger, something that most mere humans can't handle. But oh man, I hope I don't get into those kinda relationships.

Of course, but what I meant is that, is the reason for the general age difference that guys and girls stereotypically want different things out of a relationship?

Tuomas, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 12:32 (seventeen years ago)

I am still working on what I personally want out of a relationship, much less what guys and girls stereotypically want. Your question is not invalid, but it's one for the ages.

kenan, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 12:40 (seventeen years ago)

Oldest was 23 when I was almost 17. Told her I was 18 but I looked more like I was 14. I think she "knew" sooner than she let on but was in denial. Never been with a girl significantly younger than me at any given time.

When I was a young buck, I always resented the fact that the girls my age I fancied were all dating older guys. They didn't seem more "mature" than me and my friends, just 30 pounds heavier, and with a lot of bad tatoos ( just my peer group I guess). I made a promise to never be that dude but it's hard sometimes.

DustinR, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 12:54 (seventeen years ago)

yeah, those tattoos just sneak up on you.

darraghmac, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 13:00 (seventeen years ago)

Tracer I was 15!

Mark C, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 13:37 (seventeen years ago)

15 when I was 16. 49 when I was 21.

Tuomas, men don't date women older than them because they start to look more and more like their mothers.
