Curt1s St3ph3ns, Wednesday, 26 May 2004 16:06 (twenty-one years ago)

I thought we were gonna do shirts with the dinosaur & robot image on them. I believe the Seattle contingent discussed that at some point.

martin m. (mushrush), Wednesday, 26 May 2004 16:07 (twenty-one years ago)

I would be down with that if it didn't say ilx, no way am I explaining this bullshit to anyone. I like robots though.

teeny (teeny), Wednesday, 26 May 2004 16:09 (twenty-one years ago)

The robots/dinosaur image happily has no specific ILX mention in it.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 26 May 2004 16:09 (twenty-one years ago)

this is disgusting and wrong

Ronan (Ronan), Wednesday, 26 May 2004 16:11 (twenty-one years ago)

'I dreamt I was canonized in my ILx thong'

saint luna (luna.c), Wednesday, 26 May 2004 16:19 (twenty-one years ago)

i jokingly mentioned making a cafepress ILX store so beat me Ronan, sorry.

Ask For Samantha (thatgirl), Wednesday, 26 May 2004 16:28 (twenty-one years ago)

I love that I only ever actually come into physical contact with like 3 or 4 people who would understand what these shirts were on about, but that, upon making the recognition, we would laugh in the faces of all our poncey friends whose sole connection to the webbernet is friendster. YOU HAVE JUST BEEN OUTHIPSTERED MY FRIENDSTER.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Wednesday, 26 May 2004 16:39 (twenty-one years ago)

That's why it's bad that the url is on the shirts, because THEN THEY'LL KNOW.

Jordan (Jordan), Wednesday, 26 May 2004 16:47 (twenty-one years ago)

THE HIPSTERS, THAT IS

Jordan (Jordan), Wednesday, 26 May 2004 16:47 (twenty-one years ago)

it's too late, I already know how to find ilx.

teeny (teeny), Wednesday, 26 May 2004 16:49 (twenty-one years ago)

there is a trucker hat. oh my.

christhamrin (christhamrin), Wednesday, 26 May 2004 16:58 (twenty-one years ago)

Then the hipsters have already won.

Jordan (Jordan), Wednesday, 26 May 2004 17:01 (twenty-one years ago)

yes before I think of purchasing anything so dorky the t-shirt must be a dark color and there must not be a URL.

any tee with a URL is waaaay too dorky for me.

Spinktor au de toilette (El Spinktor), Wednesday, 26 May 2004 17:12 (twenty-one years ago)

If all y'all want me to remove the url from the back, that's dead easy to do, or I could just do second versions of each. let me know. I am sad there weren't t shirts (or thongs) in black. I weep.

sean c via cell, Wednesday, 26 May 2004 17:36 (twenty-one years ago)

Holy fuck, Jon.

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Wednesday, 26 May 2004 17:38 (twenty-one years ago)

no black? that's just wrong.

Ask For Samantha (thatgirl), Wednesday, 26 May 2004 17:39 (twenty-one years ago)

What the hell? I didn't realize that raccoons collected nuts too. I thought it was just squirrels.

martin m. (mushrush), Wednesday, 26 May 2004 19:12 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah, the lack of black has been a complaint at CafePress for ages, but it's because the screening process is more finicky for black T-shirts (i.e. their clients/customers would have a much higher percentage of T-shirts that come out looking like crap because of colors that don't match up to what they were on the screen, etc.) They periodically test it out with a few stores and quickly cancel it again because of quality complaints.

Tep (ktepi), Wednesday, 26 May 2004 20:11 (twenty-one years ago)

Okay. I've reworked the shirts to remove the URL from the back. People paranoid about attracting oglers in addition to the googlers can now rest easy and ply me with money.

All profits will go to the buy sean a t-shirt fund, then maybe we'll buy Momus a trucker hat or a thong for Ned. But probably I'll donate any profits that come out of this to a charity, just because.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Thursday, 27 May 2004 02:22 (twenty-one years ago)

I should also note that I've just added a baby crawler to the list, just so Alex in NYC can outfit the new family member properly.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Thursday, 27 May 2004 02:23 (twenty-one years ago)

charity = beer

Kim (Kim), Thursday, 27 May 2004 03:51 (twenty-one years ago)

I love the baseball shirt.

hstencil (hstencil), Thursday, 27 May 2004 03:54 (twenty-one years ago)

Hah, beer seems like a good charity, but I'm serious. I'll planning to donate any profits--and this is all theoretical since no one has placed an order so far as I can tell--to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, partially since I figure the research may be something I can use down the road.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Thursday, 27 May 2004 15:29 (twenty-one years ago)

Is there a Stroke and Shaft Foundation?

Leee's a Simpson (Leee), Thursday, 27 May 2004 19:52 (twenty-one years ago)

If there was, I'd be sure to dig deep in my pockets for that one.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Thursday, 27 May 2004 19:56 (twenty-one years ago)

i don't even post that much and i'd like to have one of the 3/4 sleeve ones

You, sir, are a gent!!!!

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Thursday, 27 May 2004 20:48 (twenty-one years ago)

It's not the reason why I'll be buying one of these shirts (or thongs)*, but I bet some of the rarer Cafepress things will be worth quite a bit of money someday.

*The reason? Because you folks rule, that's why.

Christine 'Green Leafy Dragon' Indigo (cindigo), Thursday, 27 May 2004 20:51 (twenty-one years ago)

Black C/D t-shirt with a purple font would make my year.

Crickets Dance On Tequila Booty (Barima), Thursday, 27 May 2004 20:55 (twenty-one years ago)

I wonder how much it would cost to do a special run of silk-screened black t-shirts...? Anyone done their own t-shirt runs before?

Nathalie, no offence but WIPE YOUR ARSE PROPERLY for god's sake!!

I am tempted to say: no need because i don't wear thongs (i mistyped as things which also works i guess) but i'm obsessive when it comes to clean arse. (i am so gonna regret typing this...)

jesus nathalie (nathalie), Friday, 28 May 2004 12:01 (twenty-one years ago)

I keep imagining that raccoon animation to the beat of "We Will Rock You"

Curt1s St3ph3ns, Friday, 28 May 2004 18:07 (twenty-one years ago)

SERVER IS TOO BUSY - what kinda half-ass operation are you foreigners running here?!?

David R. (popshots75`), Friday, 28 May 2004 20:02 (twenty-one years ago)

Nathalie you might want to check Here.

Leee's a Simpson (Leee), Friday, 28 May 2004 20:07 (twenty-one years ago)

Update: there have been a grand total of two items sold, both to the same person. I'll actually remove the thong if that's what's holding people back!

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Tuesday, 8 June 2004 13:28 (twenty-one years ago)

NO THAT'S NOT WHAT I MEANT.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Tuesday, 8 June 2004 13:29 (twenty-one years ago)

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Tuesday, 8 June 2004 13:29 (twenty-one years ago)

take it all off baby.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Tuesday, 8 June 2004 13:31 (twenty-one years ago)

Hey, Christmas is just around the corner you know. Though gift thongs are for any time of the season.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Tuesday, 8 June 2004 13:32 (twenty-one years ago)

These things are real? wtf? I thought it was a joke! If we had a baseball one with the robot/dragon thing on, I'd buy it. Especially if, on the back, it said "oh no! fite!! OH NO!!" or however it wz frst wrttn by mark s.

Sick Mouthy (Nick Southall), Tuesday, 8 June 2004 13:57 (twenty-one years ago)

If someone gives me a high-res version of that, I'll definitely put it up on the site. And all profits, as before, will go to making sure that Ned gets the thong.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Tuesday, 8 June 2004 13:59 (twenty-one years ago)

i would totally buy something with the oh no fite robot dragon thing on.

the surface noise is one of tremendous importance to connoisseurs of histor (ele, Tuesday, 8 June 2004 21:40 (twenty-one years ago)

So would I.

El Diablo Robotico (Nicole), Tuesday, 8 June 2004 23:48 (twenty-one years ago)

:(

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Tuesday, 8 June 2004 23:52 (twenty-one years ago)

stop frowning Sean, I just spent like 50 bucks on this shiznit!

Daniel_Rf (Daniel_Rf), Tuesday, 8 June 2004 23:53 (twenty-one years ago)

I was probably going to buy a t-shirt anyway, but the robot dragon fite would make me buy more.

El Diablo Robotico (Nicole), Tuesday, 8 June 2004 23:57 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah, that's what I meant too.

No need for the long face, Sean.

martin m. (mushrush), Tuesday, 8 June 2004 23:59 (twenty-one years ago)

..........

ORNALDO BLOOMPS, Wednesday, 9 June 2004 00:01 (twenty-one years ago)

I almost bought some boxers, but then I accidentally conjured this scene in my head where I'm about to get it on with some total babe and she sees an ILX logo on my boxers and just sorta stops and laughs at me and then leaves me and runs to the candle-lit mancave domicile of like some Dave Matthews Band fan or something.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 00:02 (twenty-one years ago)

THAT ELEPHANT THING HARDCORE

nickalicious (nickalicious), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 00:02 (twenty-one years ago)

If I wasn't broke and currently on the run from Vengeance Demon Nicole, I would probably buy something from the ILX store.

VengaDan Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 00:05 (twenty-one years ago)

Still no new sales. You guys are just mocking me now.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 02:45 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah honestly I don't think I could have sex with a dude wearing ILX underpants. Sorry.

Allyzay, Wednesday, 9 June 2004 03:00 (twenty-one years ago)

shit!

TOMBOT, Wednesday, 9 June 2004 03:01 (twenty-one years ago)

NO REFUNDS TOMBOT

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 03:02 (twenty-one years ago)

Ally and Tom have to buy the thong and boxers respectively and shoot a tasteful set of action photos to endorse the products.

IT IS YOUR OBLIGATION TO THE CULT OF ILX.

Andrew (enneff), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 05:45 (twenty-one years ago)

Actually, to make it easier for you guys, the "tasteful" part is optional.

Andrew (enneff), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 05:45 (twenty-one years ago)

Baseball shirt with the dragon vs robot fite! I will totally buy one! I assume they ship to the UK, right?

Sick Mouthy (Nick Southall), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 06:39 (twenty-one years ago)

Badly Drawn Kit t-shirts would sell like hotcakes.
especially if it said "Badly Drawn Kit pwns (whatever building)" on the back.

g-kit (g-kit), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 10:55 (twenty-one years ago)

this is the most apalling thing i have ever seen and i mean that.

Dave Stelfox (Dave Stelfox), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 10:56 (twenty-one years ago)

Okay, mark s was kind enough to send me a TIFF of the OH NO! FITE! OH NO! sketch, but it'll be pretty hard to blow this thing up to a size appropriate to a t-shirt without it become very very pixelated. Do you still want to go ahead with this under the understanding that the end result is probably gonna kinda suck on a t-shirt?

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 18:53 (twenty-one years ago)

couldn't you redraw it in Illustrator?

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 18:56 (twenty-one years ago)

Sean, if mark s does not have the technology to create a higher res TIFF, I will be happy to take a crack at recreating a higher res one by a painstaking process of tracing the original TIFF in illustrator and/or photoshop.

Seriously, it's one of the things I do for a living anyhow.

Send me the TIFF.

martin m. (mushrush), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 18:57 (twenty-one years ago)

xpost w/ Spencer... ;)

martin m. (mushrush), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 18:57 (twenty-one years ago)

Okay, the TIFF is now in martin's hands.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 19:12 (twenty-one years ago)

THE WRONG HANDS!

VengaDan Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 19:40 (twenty-one years ago)

Er. Sorry.

VengaDan Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 19:40 (twenty-one years ago)

I have the TIFF!

You cannot stop me, Dan!

martin m. (mushrush), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 19:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Update: there have been a grand total of two items sold, both to the same person. I'll actually remove the thong if that's what's holding people back!

You're shittin' me. Am I really the only person to have bought stuff (stuff which, incidentally, has yet to arrrive)?

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 20:18 (twenty-one years ago)

Do you think it might come over as just slightly sleazy to buy an ILX thong for women I fancy here, when it's their birthdays?

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 20:21 (twenty-one years ago)

im guna get stuff as soon as i have cash

chaki_burger (chaki), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 20:22 (twenty-one years ago)

No Alex, I've bought a shirt. I care not what hipsters think (way upthread reference).

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Tuesday, 15 June 2004 16:31 (twenty-one years ago)

Keep in mind our spare money for ILX clothes for this month actually went into the server donations, I'm guessing.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 15 June 2004 16:46 (twenty-one years ago)

Just got my stuff today! Yay! Shirt fits me, but it'll be a few months before Charlotte (or "Chazzer" as she's come to be known this week) will fit into her official ILX onezie!

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Saturday, 19 June 2004 04:53 (twenty-one years ago)

Please please tell me that they look okay, that they're not just drawn onto cheap products with a Sharpie marker.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Saturday, 19 June 2004 13:13 (twenty-one years ago)

that would be very punk rock though!

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Saturday, 19 June 2004 13:52 (twenty-one years ago)

Is that one with the weird black box on the front supposed to be construed as all-black with a white logo, as in a black t-shirt with white on? Or is it just a black box on a white shirt? Cause isn't that what people upthread were saying they wanted -- black shirt, white logo?

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Saturday, 19 June 2004 13:55 (twenty-one years ago)

poor syntax, no coffee yet

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Saturday, 19 June 2004 13:55 (twenty-one years ago)

No, it's unfortunately a white shirt with a black panel with the white logo knocked out. It doesn't come over very well with the low-res images on the site.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Saturday, 19 June 2004 14:05 (twenty-one years ago)

Well, it's not the thickest t-shirt, I'll say that (which, given that it was about 96 fuckin' degrees yesterday, turned out to be a good thing). I certainly own shoddier-made t-shirts.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Saturday, 19 June 2004 16:53 (twenty-one years ago)

Hmm. If I'd spent the money on a decent quality shirt I could probably have made this myself better. It seems to be one of those iron-on-after-it-comes-out-of-a-laser-printer thingies, and there's less than pleasing colour-run around some of the lettering...

That said, I ordered another t-shirt from a different cafepress store and it's much better - it may just be that the thin line work on the ILX shirt as it stands doesn't fit with their production methods. Badly Drawn Kit or OH NO! FITE! OH NO! may turn out acceptably. Perhaps.

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Friday, 2 July 2004 07:07 (twenty-one years ago)

I made my own with a biro.

Jarlr'mai (jarlrmai), Friday, 2 July 2004 07:46 (twenty-one years ago)

Especially the latter one, which somewhat mercifully did not appear.

Have I mentioned how much the Nu-IlX picture posting procedure sucks?

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Monday, 16 August 2004 23:03 (twenty-one years ago)

where's you in the thong?

hstencil (hstencil), Monday, 16 August 2004 23:08 (twenty-one years ago)

That image exists solely in your lurid dreamtime, Stence.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Monday, 16 August 2004 23:18 (twenty-one years ago)

nightmares count as dreams, I guess.

hstencil (hstencil), Monday, 16 August 2004 23:19 (twenty-one years ago)

Maybe he really is the horniest ilxor.

Leon Czolgosz (Nicole), Monday, 16 August 2004 23:19 (twenty-one years ago)

nightmares don't make me horny! nor do men in thongs, usually.

hstencil (hstencil), Monday, 16 August 2004 23:24 (twenty-one years ago)

but maybe you're talking about Alex in which case, nevermind.

hstencil (hstencil), Monday, 16 August 2004 23:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Where's the Baby in NYC in here ILX onesie?

tokyo rosemary (rosemary), Monday, 16 August 2004 23:24 (twenty-one years ago)

tokyo rosemary (rosemary), Monday, 16 August 2004 23:44 (twenty-one years ago)

TAKING SIDES : PADDINGTON VS KERMIT

Little Lord Travolta (nordicskilla), Thursday, 30 September 2004 14:46 (twenty-one years ago)

Kermit looks like he's falling off the edge of the bed and crying out in desperation.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 30 September 2004 14:48 (twenty-one years ago)

In the second one, Charlotte looks like shes going to ENGULF US ALL. With a cheekily pensive grin on her face.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Thursday, 30 September 2004 14:55 (twenty-one years ago)

in addition to very cute, Charlotte looks more poised and intelligent than your average baby. She KNOWS something!

oops (Oops), Thursday, 30 September 2004 17:35 (twenty-one years ago)

Omnipotent baby.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Friday, 1 October 2004 07:36 (twenty-one years ago)

donut christ (donut), Friday, 4 February 2005 01:35 (twenty years ago)

Was Luna wearing one of the ILX thongs in the now infamous underwear thread?

If anyone makes an "I kill you with guns" or "Hi Dere, What Is It Made?" t-shirt, put me in for one of each.

jay blanchard (jay blanchard), Friday, 4 February 2005 03:04 (twenty years ago)

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Friday, 4 February 2005 03:41 (twenty years ago)

luna (luna.c), Friday, 4 February 2005 17:38 (twenty years ago)

Also, why don't we have Ornaldo Bloomps for President?

luna (luna.c), Friday, 4 February 2005 17:38 (twenty years ago)

Becuase it's the least funny thing to ever appear on ILE?

IMHO, but then I didn't get it and have no sense of humour etc. :(

Markelby (Mark C), Friday, 4 February 2005 17:42 (twenty years ago)

I was going more on popularity and longevity...

luna (luna.c), Friday, 4 February 2005 17:43 (twenty years ago)

Ah, I see (sorry if that last post sounded rude btw, I didn't mean to be)

Markelby (Mark C), Friday, 4 February 2005 17:54 (twenty years ago)

What is it with the undies and you people recently?

Leon the Fatboy (Ex Leon), Friday, 4 February 2005 17:55 (twenty years ago)

Cabin fever! Those of us in the northern hemisphere have had enough of winter!

j.lu (j.lu), Friday, 4 February 2005 18:18 (twenty years ago)

whoa alex's kid is CUTE

mookieproof (mookieproof), Friday, 4 February 2005 18:25 (twenty years ago)

how come i think cafe press products might not have the best fit/finish. but fun for sure!

heh, all the ladies who look at luna's pic know she's got some nice/expensive (looking) underwear on. i think the better a lady looks, the more other women notice her clothes and the less men think about clothes. which is i guess why gay men mostly dress women. they don't get so distracted. but this is a weird tangent...

lolita corpus (lolitacorpus), Friday, 4 February 2005 19:41 (twenty years ago)

you're right though - women don't dress to impress men - it's to impress other women. I was about to say that not that many women see my underwear, but I admit that if I have a new pretty bra on, I'll totally show it to my girlfriends/female coworkers.

Am I the only one that does this?

luna (luna.c), Friday, 4 February 2005 19:44 (twenty years ago)

But... what bras don't look pretty on you, Luna?

Casuistry (Chris P), Friday, 4 February 2005 19:54 (twenty years ago)

No, it's not what they look like on me, it's them themselves. Oh I don't know.

luna (luna.c), Friday, 4 February 2005 20:04 (twenty years ago)

though, in answer, sport bras.

luna (luna.c), Friday, 4 February 2005 20:04 (twenty years ago)

They'd look better on my floor...

Jimmy Mod always makes friends with women before bedding them down (ModJ), Friday, 4 February 2005 20:06 (twenty years ago)

Any bra that you wore, Luna, could sell millions. You should become a bra model, or "brodel".

Casuistry (Chris P), Friday, 4 February 2005 20:09 (twenty years ago)

Someone's feeling saucy...

luna (luna.c), Friday, 4 February 2005 20:12 (twenty years ago)

you think the fellas would appreciate a $90 thing from agent provocateur? they're just trying to see through it. of course you gotta show your girlfriends. (though i suppose if your man just started looking at the details of it and said how darling it was, that would be a bit worrisome).

lolita corpus (lolitacorpus), Friday, 4 February 2005 20:31 (twenty years ago)

You are exactly right.

luna (luna.c), Friday, 4 February 2005 20:42 (twenty years ago)

Yeah, but we do have some appreciation of this stuff - men do react differently to nice lacy black things than to a playtex girdle or something, you know? I'm not claiming we notice the finer points of underwear, but it's not just 'how much of you can I see through/around this' or 'how much does it push your tits up'.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Friday, 4 February 2005 20:48 (twenty years ago)

whoa alex's kid is CUTE

You just now noticed this?

jaymc (jaymc), Friday, 4 February 2005 20:51 (twenty years ago)

Yes it is.

luna (luna.c), Friday, 4 February 2005 20:51 (twenty years ago)

My gf's rationale is that when she's wearing her finest lingerie she feels sexier which, by default, makes her sexier, and though I have been educated recently in more detail than was, perhaps, necessary in the finer details of her undergarments, it's the resultant sauciness above all else which I appreciate the most.

Michael White (Hereward), Friday, 4 February 2005 20:57 (twenty years ago)
