As far as I can see that's a viable team in the TFL - (mine is Buffon, Panucci, G Neville, Lizarazu, Edman, Zidane, Beckham, Davids Henry, Pauleta, Larsson for comparison). Also some of them are not first team players and therefore cheap.

for all y'all that's picked Michael Svensson in your defending line, he's been sidelined due to injury and isn't even in the Sweden squad.
also Mjallby is extremely likely to be sidelined unless there's injury; Sweden's central defenders will be Jakobsson-Mellberg. I'd recommend Jakobsson to all and sundry, he's been brilliant all year long.

More local info: the current Dutch lineup is highly uncertain. The only players sure of a starting position seem to be Stam, Davids and vd Sar. The injuries of Seedorf and Robben are light and both will be able to play. Mark van Bommel is badly injured and has already been replaced by Paul Bosvelt.

I'm hanging in there, just about in reach of the top (I'm 5th, 18 points off Ken, but given that my Swedes' first game was worth 37 points that isn't too much) - the substitutions will be crucial. I think I may have more players through, and more money to spend on some good subs, than Ken will, maybe.

I have made my substitutions for the quarters: my team is now Cech; Mellberg, Campbell, Van Bronckhorst, M Svensson; Ljungberg, Gerrard, Nedved; Henry, Baros, Larsson.

My new set of mid-table obscurities involve a lot of Czechs, and one Croatian who isn't even playing just because he was my cheapest player from the first round and I figured I might as well leave him there thereby allowing more money to buy whoever I bought. Except I can't remember who I went with in the end, and I don't know how to find out. I swapped Rooney in and out about four times...but I think I went with Henry and some ridiculously underpriced Czechs at the expense of my flops (Kuranyi, (Stilian) Petrov and Rino Gattuso).

I'm kind of relying on everyone having buggered off to Glasto having forgotten to make their substitutions to aid my creep up the table. That, and a storming set of results for the Czechs.

Hmm - I am =4th in ILX, within a great performance in the semi and final from Baros and Nedved of catching up, maybe - but 4th is a very respectable showing, I think. I only have 4 players still in the tournament!

I'm second but my chances of catching Ken are minimal. I only have 5 players left (4 Czechs and Stam), and one of them (Jiranek) was injured last night.
Ken's only real danger now is Michael B, I think, in 3rd place with 7 players left.
