What do you imagine certain ILErs to look like?

I know there are certain threads where you post your picture, and loads of ILErs have met each other, but, if you haven't seen some of these people, how do you imagine they look like from posts alone?

For no real reason, I imagine Madchen_in_uniform to look like Catwoman and Eire Ronan to look like Harry Potter (not the perved over film one, the one on the original book covers). They are just two examples from many.

I am lonely and give much of my day over to idle reflection.

I can remember thinking Tracer looked like a wizened old biker-Peter Fonda lookeylikey, until I saw his picture and saw it couldn't be further from the truth.

I imagine Menelaus to be like Tinkerbell, with wings and a magic wand. She favours lace and yellow. Don't ask me why. I imagine Rainy to be tall, slim and Indian, (this be because of a friend at Uni called Renuka who we called 'Rainy') , who wears saris and a bindi. She smiles a lot.

My impression of most posters was rather similiar to Sean's description, and I was so pleased to learn a few threads back exactly what people DO look like. Most are quite gorgeous. Ally was a particular surprise because I didn't picture her as being blonde, or wearing glasses (I'm thinking of the right picture, aren't I?) And I think another was Ethan?, not sure on that one I would have to check the thread...I thought he'd be a kind of smaller, bitchier Jarvis Cocker with clean hair type.

I've seen photos of lots of people - Tom, Ally, Nick, Mark S, Kate, DG, Robin etc ...

I unintentionally imagined Dave Q to look like Ned Raggett because I don't know any other boys with long hair. But now I found out he doesn't have long hair I didn't know what to imagine and then I accidentally imagined Henry Rollins! Not for any particular reason so don't be offended Dave Q - and if you read this could you correct the unfortunate image ...

Has anyone gone to see Dave Q's band? I know lots of people saw Kate's band.

I imagine Josh to look like my friend Hamish (who has a photo on the photo thread.) Nathalie I imagined to have large front teeth - for some reason this is what Belgian connotes for me, and wearing lace, because her parents owned a shop that sold lace. Ethan I think of as short, wearing baggy jeans. I think of Ronan as looking like the naked chef because he said so. Tracer Hand I imagine as looking like a cross between the young Bob Dylan and a Jewish American university student. Pinefox I think of as being kind of small and with light brownish hair, because of the fox connotation.

When I didn't know Menelaus was one of our friends, for a few days, I imagined her as being an older student in the women's studies department, with long dyed black hair and dark lipstick, and dark Plume-ish clothes. Before I met Duane, and only knew of him as Violet's brother, I imagined he'd be short with dark hair, kind of like Steve McCabe or one of the other Frisbee boys. Hamish I basically imagined to look like what he looks like.

I've been feeling like a bit of a perve recently seeing all these nu-metal young girly things (and i mean like 15 yr olds) in their brand new black slipknot hooded tops and perfectly neat-bob dyed maroon hair. it's quite close to the goffy look i used to fancy in the 80s. it's sort of my equivalent of the sexy schooldisco.com look which is actually some mythical st trinians style thing which is many sartorial miles from the school uniform at my school.

Before I saw all those pictures Ally posted of him, I imagined Otis as looking like that kid on the cover of Dinosaur Jr.'s Green Mind, but ten years older.

Before I saw that picture of Jess, I thought he looked like Vincente D'Onofrio as a young Orson Welles in Ed Wood. Which is exactly how I thought Anthony looked before I saw his photo.

Back when Dave Q. was Tarden, I pictured him as a cranky world music fan/rave kid, looking sort of like Perry Farrell on the cover of that new record. I'm sure Dave's gonna love that vision. Probably because Tarden sounds like Tarkan, that gay Turkish disco singer. Or Tarsem, the director of The Cell. I didn't make the Cockpit connection. Now I think of him as looking kinda Albini-esque, but handsomer.
