I just checked the megabus site. I can get a return to london for £14 but the cumulative time spent on the bus would be 23 hours. I'm not going on the megabus anywhere. yes, ailsa, I think so. it is £3 from aberdeen to glasgow return I think.

(x-post) Yes he's still alive - he's dying though I think. Actually, he ws going to Great Western Hospital in Glasgaw last year, for radiotherapy, and as he got run over as he crossed the road. He made some joke about 'worrying about cancer when you might get hit by a truck tommorrow' or something. But last time I met him he seemed very tired, kind of weak - still one of the cleverest, nicest people I've met though.
