It's actually 2 releases by 'The Tuss' on Rephlex, who claims that it is an alias for Brian Tregaskin (which itself is an anagram for 'brain streaking', as well as sounding completely made-up on its own) and sound fresh outta the Analord series (see New Aphex Twin Record ). 5 seconds of listening and you can already tell it's Him; it just screams RDJ. You can get all of HIS releases (note that the Confederation Trough EP has a different Track 3 on the CD and the 12", so both of those plus the album) on a certain bit torrent site whose name is a sound that a certain unclean barnyard animal makes. IT IS ACID HEAVEN.

And if you are Aphex fan you must hear the UK "On EP" single with D-Scape (which was dropped from the US release) because it is one of RDJ's greatest works.

Someone sent me "A Gilded Eternity" from Lala.com because for some reason beyond human comprehension they didn't want it anymore. I love it. LaLa.com is the greatest thing ever; Who the fuck would think that you can give away Dropkick Murphys and stuff and get Lush, Loop, Boo Radleys, Tricky, etc;.

Loop is OOP (although I have heard talks of reissues), so you can't imagine how ecstatic I was when I received it.

It is funny because after I got into Loveless I sought out other 'shoegaze' albums, under the false notion that it was somehow in the same league as other 'shoegaze' bands as Lush, Slowdive, Ride, Loop, etc; and it wasn't until i heard Spacemen 3 and later Spiritualized (namely 'Ladies and Gentlemen...') that I truly even came close to the magic that 'Loveless' beheld.

Loop is pretty hard to get even here, luckily we have pretty much all of it already :)

My fave nu-shoegaze band is Deerhunter

I also hold "Soon" as the ABSOLUTE BEST non-'dance music' dance song of all time, and often tell people that my image of an ideal party is an enormous, giant warehouse with hundreds of strobelights (and ONLY strobelights and no other light source, so it truly looks choppy/slo-mo) and hundreds of speakers blaring 'Soon' at a deafening volume and everyone dancing/tripping their asses off.

I have not heard Deerhunter!!! My favorite neo-shoegaze band is Psychic Ills who are amazing (go to http://www.myspace.com/psychicills and listen to 'January Rain'). I have seen them twice and they are v v good.

my little sister, several years ago, told me she envisioned me growing up to be like karen from will and grace. last weekend i was wearing a wrap dress and drinking bourbon on the rocks and she was like 'omg i was so right about you!' but i ask you: would karen be able to make italics in bbcode? i think not.

Hell yeah, I do. This morning I woke up and realized I'd played the Cure's Disintegration last night and I was like "why? I really don't have any particular desire to hear that right now". I mean, it's a classic album and all, don't get me wrong, but I can't figure out what made me put it on.

I start pulling out all kinds of shit when I'm drunk. Mostly it just means I end up with piles of CD's on my floor that I didn't even get around to playing and have to put away. Irritating.

Ha, I made my friend download 'Mr Roboto' by Styx the other week while insanely drunk. Quite clearly very insanely drunk.

We downloaded Roll 'Em Up the other week while druncked. Even sober, that was clearly a good idea.
