I spent the day with the Pinefox at the Museum of the City of New York and Central Park, and left him with directions to the Ding Dong Lounge, so hopefully he is there with you all now.

he is very nice, and civil and friendly, which is more than i can say for many ilxors i have met.

How many people here are going to chickfactor NYC shows? I think they are all of 9th-12th April -- I may wind up at all of them. As well as two in DC.

Oof. I wasn't planning to go to chick factor, but I didn't know that the pines were playing. Gonna get my ticket for that night now. First night is sold out--should I get a ticket for the second night as well? (PF is 3rd nite.)

I got my ticket for the first night the day they went on sale, hallelujah etc. Have held back from buying tix for nights 2/3 but I have a feeling I'm going to end up wanting them? If there are still some left on Friday, I will.

What's the big hullabaloo about the first night?

We are!! So, on the 11th Finefine Music, Bene Gesserit (formerly belllabs), myself and some irl friends of ours are meeting at a bar near RCMH before the Pulp show. I know it'a a busy time and that area isn't likely to be one that people just happen to meet in but if anyone would like to come out and have a drink post work it would be very cool to get a chance to meet some of you. :)

PF: How long is your lunch?? We could meet in the afternoon.

ENBB: I will meet up! Well, I guess it depends what is going on at work and what day off I get.

I heard the Pines on the radio this evening.

I was there with the kids for The Pines on Friday (took them home around 9) and without the kids for the duration on Saturday. Not sure if I'll have any babysitting cover for the NJ and NYC BT/Pines shows so may not see those. But that's OK, Fri/Sat were great and that's as much live music as I expected to see on this trip. Anything else is a bonus, Brian.

I think a certain LP might be avail for child-minding? Not to speak for her but I don't think she's going to shows.

The shows have indeed been good so far. Tonight in Brooklyn contained so many people I knew, it was like walking into a surprise party.

actually I think a highlight tonight for me was telling Linton about my admiration for The Aislers Set. my opinion seemed to be slightly more appreciated than I might have imagined.

I've listened to your tracks before, pf, but in retrospect I would have assumed it was more than one person playing, or more than one track combined, or something. In person, I was actually paying attention.

Last night was really really fun - it felt like a reunion of sorts but way better than like a high school reunion or whatevs. So good to meet people I hadn't met before after all these years, and see people again, and feel transported back to my indie-twee years via musics. aw :)

oh hey the therese track is the old Bodines song. i used to have the single.

pf and I walked around central park in the sunshine and took pictures of each other taking pictures and sang the songs of stephin merritt among others. he has an astounding memory for lyrics. I mostly just remember feelings and notes.

The afternoon felt quite nice, funny, relaxing, in the key of A I would say.

Tape yourself and listen. I did that recently and didn't like what I heard. Also I was asking somebody about their German accent the other day and they put on a comedy American accent and asked if that was preferable.

Doc, that would have been good. In this Central Park instance a particular emphasis was placed on 'Washington, D.C.'. I also heard the new LP for the first time on Friday in Spoonbill books in Williamsburg. Mary was telling me last night about your enduring movie enthusiasm and Carmen Miranda plans.

James R, haven't had those encounters this time but did find a wall graffitied with Green Lantern, and was in a NON-hipster cafe on 4th Ave Brooklyn where 'Life During Wartime' came on.

Mary thinks I think all Americans are jocks. I was really just talking about the way certain people might talk about BLACK TAMBOURINE, MAN, and how SMALL FACTORY JUST LIKE BROUGHT IT.
