What's with all the Star Trek?

In any case, the real answer is: don't discuss it with anybody except Mr. Teeny until the kid is out of the Jeffries Tube.

Now, let the fun continue.

jocelyn (Jocelyn), Friday, 6 May 2005 19:55 (twenty-one years ago)

Any name that starts with a Z would be fun because the kid could just change it to Z and write big Zs everywhere like Zorro.

I really like old fashioned names for girls like Mirah, Myrnah, Mabel, Matilda...apparently all old fashioned names for girls that begin with the letter M.

No, don't use Ella! It's a really cute name, but there are simply ZILLIONS of 3- and 4-year-old Ellas running around the yuppie neighborhood where I work, and I feel kind of bad for them because they all have the same name and will have to affix their last initials to their names when they get to school. Everything's lovely, I still don't look pregnant yet.

How many months are you? Four or five? Sorry, I forget. I'm crap with time/dates. I'm feeling less nauseous - I'm about three months - so I'm completely freaking out thinking sth's wrong with the baby even though I realize it's normal to feel less sick now. Second echo on thursday. I. Can't. Wait.

Names. *Sigh* Already a 1/3 is over and we still haven't found any names. Well, we have, but it's not *fixed*. I really wanted Alexandra...

nathalie's post modern sleaze fest (stevie nixed), Monday, 20 June 2005 12:04 (twenty years ago)

I'm 17 weeks today! I don't want to think about names until I either know the gender or feel it kick. I have an OB appt this week (actually on Thursday too!) but I think my next ultrasound is a month from that, and that's when we would find out the gender, if the little one cooperates and shows the goods. This past week, a couple of times when I'm lying in bed, I think I have felt a little flutter, but I'm so eager to feel it kick that I might be confusing it with the massive amounts of gas I continue to have. Also I have started having headaches, which I rarely suffered from. :( Lots of nosebleeds and sinus congestion. Still pretty minor complaints overall.

teeny (teeny), Monday, 20 June 2005 12:35 (twenty years ago)

This is apparently completely normal. Some women's gums bleed. Mine bleed as well, but that's not really abnormal. Also, headaches are okay but if they last long - a couple of days - they advise you to call the doc. I wouldn't because I normally have migraine attacks. Thank I only had one massive headache so far. I feel really strange: I don't really *feel* pregnant. This'll probably change when I have a gigantic *football* and have to drag myself and the baby everywhere. ;-)

In the Netherlands it's really common to deliver at home. Yikes! Wouldn't even consider this, as I worry too much about possible complications. :-)They don't really visit the gyno until the third/fourth month or so and after that only once in a while. I think the point is that if there's nothing wrong, why bother? Of course there is a midwife who visits a few times.

Good luck with the next ultrasound. :-)
