Danica's been a grown-ass woman for a while. Get familiar.

David R. (popshots75`), Thursday, 9 June 2005 13:52 (twenty years ago)

Whoa. That's some body. (And great hair, too.)

Je4nne ƒur¥ (Je4nne Fury), Thursday, 9 June 2005 13:53 (twenty years ago)

Now now. Calm down, umm, ladies.

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 9 June 2005 13:55 (twenty years ago)

Oh, I had to do a double-take. I hadn't remembered her real name.. And that Indy Driver who is all the hype these days is also named Danica, and covergirl on various mags lately....

First the Olson Twins, and now Winnie Cooper! IS NOTHING SACRED?!?!
(i'm still waiting for the Kimmy Gibbler FHM shoot)

Huk-L, Thursday, 9 June 2005 13:56 (twenty years ago)

shes like the original katie holmes.

blahbariantheoriginal, Thursday, 9 June 2005 13:57 (twenty years ago)

She is cute but too skinny.

n/a (Nick A.), Thursday, 9 June 2005 13:59 (twenty years ago)

For what purpose?

slightly more subdued (kenan), Thursday, 9 June 2005 14:00 (twenty years ago)

To play Roy Orbison in his upcoming biopic.

n/a (Nick A.), Thursday, 9 June 2005 14:02 (twenty years ago)

nick OTM

slightly more subdued (kenan), Thursday, 9 June 2005 14:03 (twenty years ago)

This is the guy who plays Roy Orbison in the upcoming Johnny Cash biopic:

jaymc (jaymc), Thursday, 9 June 2005 14:07 (twenty years ago)

Nick took the words out of my mouth.

(except the words about Roy Orbison, those were his)

Jordan (Jordan), Thursday, 9 June 2005 14:09 (twenty years ago)

Is that a pr0n site or something? It's blocked by my work Surf Control. Oh well.

Shannon Doherty

Would Like to See:

Clarissa Explains it All girl
Sara Gilbert
My Two Dads chick

Pass:

Soleil Moon-Frye
Tracey Gold
Small Wonder, wherever she may be

Aaron A., Thursday, 9 June 2005 14:25 (twenty years ago)

I don't really want to see Neve Campbell's either for some reason

Aaron A., Thursday, 9 June 2005 14:26 (twenty years ago)

they're not that great

jaymc (jaymc), Thursday, 9 June 2005 14:26 (twenty years ago)

My Two Dads chick

Stacey Keenan!

slightly more subdued (kenan), Thursday, 9 June 2005 14:27 (twenty years ago)

And the hottest picture of her I can find is her in a big, loose sweater. Rawr.

slightly more subdued (kenan), Thursday, 9 June 2005 14:28 (twenty years ago)

Soleil Moon-Frye is hotter than you think.

Isn't it great how you don't even have to search for "soleil moon-frye nude" anymore? Just the name of whoever you want to see nude, and the nude pictures are always the first image results. Google knows us all too well.

slightly more subdued (kenan), Thursday, 9 June 2005 14:30 (twenty years ago)

Oh yeah Six from Blossom!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 9 June 2005 14:42 (twenty years ago)

There were Sara Gilbert nudes in circulation online at one time.

a friend, Thursday, 9 June 2005 14:48 (twenty years ago)

I was so in love with her once upon a time.

slightly more subdued (kenan), Thursday, 9 June 2005 14:52 (twenty years ago)

Thanks, you've reminded me how much I had the hots for her. Anyway, I've found the link if yr still interested ;)

Jetlag Willy (noodle vague), Thursday, 9 June 2005 14:58 (twenty years ago)

Winnie from the Wonder Years? Bang, whoosh, yet another pleasant childhood memory explodes in a shower of bitter, useless semen.

On one hand I've got myself to blame (Lynskey), Thursday, 9 June 2005 15:01 (twenty years ago)

Almost all chicks on magazine covers are too skinny, but what can ya do?

Je4nne ƒur¥ (Je4nne Fury), Thursday, 9 June 2005 15:05 (twenty years ago)

just WAIT till you see what the "It's a Fact" girl has been up to!

it's a fact!

kf, Thursday, 9 June 2005 15:06 (twenty years ago)

bitter, useless semen

!

That's awesome.

slightly more subdued (kenan), Thursday, 9 June 2005 15:06 (twenty years ago)

I'm not really interested in Claire Danes either (I developed a lifelong grudge against her when she failed to disrobe in Romeo + Juliet)but wouldn't mind getting an eyefull of whoever played Rayanne or Sharon from 'My SCL'

Aaron A., Thursday, 9 June 2005 15:15 (twenty years ago)

Don't love her because she's hot.

Don't love her because you had a deep and abiding crush on her during her wonder years days, (and oh LORD did I ever).

Love her because she is a physics genius

There is a pdf of her paper on her website which is down, you can link to it from the Wikipedia page.

Ash (ashbyman), Thursday, 9 June 2005 15:31 (twenty years ago)

The Physics (I thought it was Maths) stuff is what makes her hot.

Jetlag Willy (noodle vague), Thursday, 9 June 2005 15:32 (twenty years ago)

I haven't followed "West Wing" since Sorkin was booted — what's her recurring role there?

Rock Hardy (Rock Hardy), Thursday, 9 June 2005 15:35 (twenty years ago)

There's also a page on her website where she solves math problems submitted by fans!

jaymc (jaymc), Thursday, 9 June 2005 15:36 (twenty years ago)

That puts Will Wheaton's web page to shame already.

slightly more subdued (kenan), Thursday, 9 June 2005 15:37 (twenty years ago)

She kinda looks a bit like Robin Tunney.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Thursday, 9 June 2005 15:38 (twenty years ago)

OK, the math stuff makes her about 2,000 times more attractive.

n/a (Nick A.), Thursday, 9 June 2005 15:38 (twenty years ago)

There is a pdf of her paper on her website which is down, you can link to it from the Wikipedia page.

It wasn't in a very high-ranking journal. And she wasn't even the first author!

MindInRewind (Barry Bruner), Thursday, 9 June 2005 15:40 (twenty years ago)

Good heavens, Ms. McKellar, you're beautiful!

geyser muffler and a quarter (Dave225), Thursday, 9 June 2005 15:40 (twenty years ago)

OK, the math stuff makes her about 2,000 times more attractive.

I KNOW! What is that??

slightly more subdued (kenan), Thursday, 9 June 2005 15:41 (twenty years ago)

(Well, never mind. I know what it is. It's liking women who are smart and good at things.)

slightly more subdued (kenan), Thursday, 9 June 2005 15:42 (twenty years ago)

Will Bailey sister! Oh well, not surprised that I didn't recognize her — I never watched "Wonder Years."

Rock Hardy (Rock Hardy), Thursday, 9 June 2005 15:46 (twenty years ago)

i think her body looks just about perfect. its the face thats kinda weird.

since noone likes skinny here, what about blair from facts of life? dont lie! you totally had a crush on her.

http://www.hissandpop.com/celebrities/w/lisawhelchel/photos/020.jpg

woah! look at tootie now:

http://us.movies1.yimg.com/movies.yahoo.com/images/hv/photo/movie_pix/warner_brothers/romeo_must_die/kim_fields/romeopre.jpg

sunny successor (katharine), Thursday, 9 June 2005 15:56 (twenty years ago)

If you call her "Tootie" nowadays, she tears your testicles off and steps on them.

slightly more subdued (kenan), Thursday, 9 June 2005 15:58 (twenty years ago)

Her face looks photoshopped-in. Skin color doesn't match.

Rock Hardy (Rock Hardy), Thursday, 9 June 2005 16:01 (twenty years ago)

Y'all need to start watching some black sitcoms! Tootie's been looking like that since Living Single, and "Six from Blossom" (aka Jenna von Oy) spends time exposing her midriff and wearing tight big-booty pants on The Parkers, which -- apparently -- recently ended? With Ms. Parker marrying the Professor? Saddest "happy" ending in television history.

nabiscothingy, Thursday, 9 June 2005 16:02 (twenty years ago)

Skin-color non-matching is due to a little-known industry special-effects trick called MAKEUP.

nabiscothingy, Thursday, 9 June 2005 16:03 (twenty years ago)

face makeup and body makeup mismatch

sunny successor (katharine), Thursday, 9 June 2005 16:03 (twenty years ago)

I thought I would be the only person on ile who watched Living Single.

Leon C. (Ex Leon), Thursday, 9 June 2005 16:03 (twenty years ago)

My mom had serious problems with that show -- for some unexplained reason she felt that the lawyer guy with the dreadlocks was "digusting." There seemed to be much better reasons to dislike the show, but that was hers. She was also not fond of Martin, though both parents tended to laugh at Shanene, and my dad did briefly pick up an inadvertent Martin Lawrence catchphrase ("let it marinate").

nabiscothingy, Thursday, 9 June 2005 16:08 (twenty years ago)

I'm gonna go make some PB&J, load up a couple rockism threads, and just ... let it marinate.

nabiscothingy, Thursday, 9 June 2005 16:09 (twenty years ago)

Tootie's been looking like that since Living Single,

And even before that ... she was on an episode of the Fresh Prince around 1992.

MindInRewind (Barry Bruner), Thursday, 9 June 2005 16:11 (twenty years ago)

My mom had serious problems with that show -- for some unexplained reason she felt that the lawyer guy with the dreadlocks was "digusting." There seemed to be much better reasons to dislike the show, but that was hers.

Ha ha, the whole reasons I've ever seen episodes of Living Single is because my mom had a huge crush on the lawyer guy!

x-post

Leon C. (Ex Leon), Thursday, 9 June 2005 16:12 (twenty years ago)

I wonder if Tootie keeps in touch with Molly Ringwald.

geyser muffler and a quarter (Dave225), Thursday, 9 June 2005 16:16 (twenty years ago)

Back to Ms. McKellar --- oh my god, oh goodness, she's utterly swoonworthy. And she'd be even hotter if she rid the eyeliner.

I'd forgotten that the other roommate was onetime Cosby-cousin Erika Alexander! (Googling to confirm this also turned up hilarious sentences like "Living Single really started going downhill when Overton and Sinclair got married.")

nabiscothingy, Thursday, 9 June 2005 16:28 (twenty years ago)

OVERTON

David R. (popshots75`), Thursday, 9 June 2005 16:30 (twenty years ago)

David R. (popshots75`), Thursday, 9 June 2005 16:30 (twenty years ago)

Other people who have grown up: I learned a little while ago that the littlest girl from Family Matters, the tiny daughter who somehow got written out of the show after a couple seasons -- her family wasted all her money, she got all drunken and problematic, she did some porn (!!), and now she's all Tatum O'Nealing it and promoting her new band.

nabiscothingy, Thursday, 9 June 2005 16:31 (twenty years ago)

How would you "reform" education?

Ian Riese-Moraine. Exposing ambitious careerists as charlatans since 1986. (East, Thursday, 9 June 2005 16:35 (twenty years ago)

caitlin oh no (caitxa1), Thursday, 9 June 2005 16:38 (twenty years ago)

you guys are math snobs. she's the smartest woman ever.

jaymc (jaymc), Thursday, 9 June 2005 17:04 (twenty years ago)

Yeah, I'd like to see YOUR brilliant physics papers!

n/a (Nick A.), Thursday, 9 June 2005 17:23 (twenty years ago)

Oh wait, no I wouldn't. Nevermind.

n/a (Nick A.), Thursday, 9 June 2005 17:23 (twenty years ago)

you guys are acting like Winnie Cooper is your girlfriend or something, sheesh.

Allyzay flies casual (allyzay), Thursday, 9 June 2005 17:33 (twenty years ago)

And at that moment, I realized that Winnie had never actually been my girlfriend. We all learned a lot that day, Wayne, my dad, Winnie, and me.

n/a (Nick A.), Thursday, 9 June 2005 17:34 (twenty years ago)

OK I am tearing up from the roffling.

Allyzay flies casual (allyzay), Thursday, 9 June 2005 17:35 (twenty years ago)

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Thursday, 9 June 2005 18:09 (twenty years ago)

i think the word "unctuous" was invented for those wonder years voice-overs.

Amateur(ist) (Amateur(ist)), Thursday, 9 June 2005 18:28 (twenty years ago)

Winnie Cooper looks like the little lady from Lost in Space who I had a terrible crush on when I was little.

bob n0pe (bobnope), Thursday, 9 June 2005 18:30 (twenty years ago)

i once went to a show by some k records band and she was taking requests and some audience member yelled at her to sing some joe cocker and she said she had no idea who that was (yeah right) and the whole audience practically yelled back, "wonder years!"

Amateur(ist) (Amateur(ist)), Thursday, 9 June 2005 18:32 (twenty years ago)

p.s. joe cocker is awful.

Amateur(ist) (Amateur(ist)), Thursday, 9 June 2005 18:32 (twenty years ago)

n/a (Nick A.), Thursday, 9 June 2005 18:38 (twenty years ago)

nickalicious (nickalicious), Thursday, 9 June 2005 18:40 (twenty years ago)

No, wait, that wasn't it. One of them twitchy dealies.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Thursday, 9 June 2005 18:40 (twenty years ago)

otm! that's how we decide who's hot and who's not
Actually, it is fairly impressive work for an undergraduate, even if it's not earth-shattering work in the grand scheme of things.

Caitlin, can you understand her paper?

MindInRewind (Barry Bruner), Thursday, 9 June 2005 18:41 (twenty years ago)

jesus christ, i m nerd

MindInRewind (Barry Bruner), Thursday, 9 June 2005 18:41 (twenty years ago)

I thought I would be the only person on ile who watched Living Single.

I only saw a few episodes but I rather liked it! I also saw a few Martin episodes as well for some reason. I think my first year of grad school I needed TV a bit more.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 9 June 2005 18:44 (twenty years ago)

I'd hit it.

Jeff-PTTL (Jeff), Thursday, 9 June 2005 18:51 (twenty years ago)

xpost i just skimmed it. i don't know that much about physics except i know what hamiltonian is and i know about spin. actually maybe i could understand this if i tried. probably not. i'm reading a paper about hyperbolic geometry now.

caitlin oh no (caitxa1), Thursday, 9 June 2005 18:52 (twenty years ago)

hyperbolic geometry

"wow! geometry is the best thing ever!!!"

Amateur(ist) (Amateur(ist)), Thursday, 9 June 2005 18:53 (twenty years ago)

haha, that's exactly what i thought it was, like HUGEST TETRAHEDRON IN THE UNIVERSE

caitlin oh no (caitxa1), Thursday, 9 June 2005 18:54 (twenty years ago)

The only physics in that paper is in the definition of their terms. Otherwise, I don't think one needs to know much about physics in order to understand it.

MindInRewind (Barry Bruner), Thursday, 9 June 2005 19:00 (twenty years ago)

This had better never ever ever happen with Ellen from Pete and Pete.

ever.

I fucking mean it.

Jarlr'mai (jarlrmai), Thursday, 9 June 2005 19:01 (twenty years ago)

xpost yeah, i didn't really try. anyway i lied about not knowing anything about physics, because i'm a big liar.

caitlin oh no (caitxa1), Thursday, 9 June 2005 19:02 (twenty years ago)

is that hyperbole?

Amateur(ist) (Amateur(ist)), Thursday, 9 June 2005 19:06 (twenty years ago)

No worries, J: Ellen-from-Pete-and-Pete was last spotted in a Christian a capella group at Dartmouth, and this personal page doesn't seem like that of someone who's about to be scissor-kicking for lad mags.

Some how this is worse than if she was in porn.

Jarlr'mai (jarlrmai), Thursday, 9 June 2005 21:19 (twenty years ago)

xxxpost, maybe she was being creative and witty like it says on the page. I have to admit, The Human League doing Tears for Fears would be very funny.

Calm down, umm, ladies.
I first read that as, "Calum down"!

gabbneb, Monday, 30 July 2007 22:15 (eighteen years ago)

She's 32 now!? Wow.

Trayce, Monday, 30 July 2007 22:47 (eighteen years ago)

I wrote a pretty sweet song about her being a mathematician once. Reading that article, tho, I have to say her book sounds overly cutesy and pandering, and I hope that was her editor's choice and not hers:

To that end, her book, titled "Math Doesn't Suck," uses cutesy graphics and teen-magazine staples like personality quizzes, horoscopes and straight-from-the-mall examples to spell out often confusing concepts like reciprocal fractions and prime factorization. It also contains syrupy dollops of just-between-us-girls encouragement, three miniprofiles of drop-dead-gorgeous mathematicians, as well as practical tips for avoiding sloppy mistakes on homework, overcoming test-day brain freeze and suggestions on what to do when algebra gets you down. (Hint: don't be afraid to sound dumb in class. Go ahead and ask.)

Abbott, Monday, 30 July 2007 22:50 (eighteen years ago)

I'm still trying to find the proper joke response to her previous suspicion that math was largely populated by "nerdy white guys."

nabisco, Monday, 30 July 2007 22:51 (eighteen years ago)

GAAAH FUCK:

Still, is it necessary to teach a girl about ratios, for instance, by asking her to figure out how much lip gloss she owns compared with her sister?

Abbott, Monday, 30 July 2007 22:52 (eighteen years ago)

Maybe the kid who played Paul was her main math buddy?

Abbott, Monday, 30 July 2007 22:52 (eighteen years ago)

In California, no less! I'm sorry, I can't help imagining her wandering through the UCLA math department being all like "Wow, I would have never guessed that such a diverse group of people study high-level math! I met this really nice Indian guy before class, and it turns out our TA is actually from Taiwan!"

nabisco, Monday, 30 July 2007 22:55 (eighteen years ago)

Yeah, don't get me wrong, I love the ratios. And, uh, my sister has dozens and I have zero. So so it goes.

Curt1s Stephens, Tuesday, 31 July 2007 00:31 (eighteen years ago)

marry vs. fuck - is she going to want to talk about math all the time? I think that's the deciding issue.

milo z, Tuesday, 31 July 2007 00:33 (eighteen years ago)

if no: marry
if yes: fuck

Back to Ms. McKellar --- oh my god, oh goodness, she's utterly swoonworthy. And she'd be even hotter if she rid the eyeliner.

HI DERE, Tuesday, 31 July 2007 04:31 (eighteen years ago)

one year passes...

just watched an old repeat of the wonder years today. madeline is just as gorgeous as i remember. the actress playing here must have been about 19 or 20 at the time. she's like a woman, while the rest were so clearly kids.
