John, does anyone actually call you "JC"?
It's a good pic though.

n/a (Nick A.), Friday, 1 July 2005 18:12 (twenty years ago)

I don't even know what an Intonation is. Well, for my revenge, I'll be down in Chicago next weekend but not come to see any of you guys.*

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Thursday, 7 July 2005 20:08 (twenty years ago)

t0dd swiss, you look great!

andrew m. (andrewmorgan), Thursday, 7 July 2005 20:57 (twenty years ago)

Cozen, I like how that tile pattern looks like it is something growing from your head.

Why do you keep taking your camera to the bathroom anyway?

ailsa (ailsa), Thursday, 7 July 2005 21:01 (twenty years ago)

M. White (Miguelito), Thursday, 7 July 2005 21:09 (twenty years ago)

Is your sister made of flowers?

Forest Pines (ForestPines), Thursday, 7 July 2005 21:12 (twenty years ago)

aww precious
sugar and spice and everything nice too i bet

dahlin (dahlin), Thursday, 7 July 2005 21:21 (twenty years ago)

Hah. It's not *that* much of a compliment - the character I was referring to was a bit of a femme fatale even though it wasn't really her own fault.

Forest Pines (ForestPines), Thursday, 7 July 2005 21:22 (twenty years ago)

sugar and spice and everything nice too i bet

I like to think that RJG appeared in those places out of thin air, just moments before the photos were taken, had a quick look round, then disappeared again, turning up seconds later in the second photograph, and so on.

Not very well explained, but you know what I mean.

Madchen, erm, I didn't know you had a sister.

But I have always found emotional volatility charming.

You have a good head shape for it, too -- if I went bald (which I may yet, my dad did) I'd have no option than to walk around with a large, round head. You look good with a #2 guard working all over. You really do.

Paunchy Stratego (kenan), Saturday, 9 July 2005 20:02 (twenty years ago)

Yeah...yeah! I blame God! That bastard and his sense of humor!

Kenan, thx for the kind words on the haircut. I'm not convinced about the look, but my wife and I have both enjoyed fondling my fuzzy skull today. I agree with Chris that different glasses would help.

Alex, I looked a bit like that when I first met my wife. All that's left now is the hefty crotch bulge.

Also Huk, if you cropped the spikes in yr hair you would look startlingly similar to ESOJ I reckon.

Trayce (trayce), Sunday, 10 July 2005 01:07 (twenty years ago)

You think so? There has already been great debate as to whether that's a great shirt or a bloody awful one. I'm on your side.

It's a great shirt. Not everyone could get away with it, though. Which is probably why people tell you it isn't. Because THEY couldn't wear it and look cool. Pray to god you don't turn into David Hemmings though, or your eyebrows would announce you into every room.

Also, Rock, why the hell do you never smile in your photos? You smile a lot in The Reality, you should get some photos of it.

Alex, is that STELLA ARTOIS you're drinking? Nice product placement for STELLA ARTOIS there.

accentmonkey (accentmonkey), Sunday, 10 July 2005 06:15 (twenty years ago)

Accentmonkey, I've thought about that a good bit. Smiling without something specific to smile about feels very forced to me. It's not an expression that falls upon my face naturally. Those times we've met and I was grinning like a chimp? I was actually very happy to be there, and enjoying myself thoroughly. As O. Nate (and DJH) found out in Victoriaville this year, I don't fake a happy expression when I'm not feelin' it.

J. took a picture of me yesterday after the haircut where I'm trying to smile, and it looks like I'm attempting to do ventriloquism, badly.

Rock Hardy (Rock Hardy), Sunday, 10 July 2005 12:27 (twenty years ago)

Alex, is that STELLA ARTOIS you're drinking? Nice product placement for STELLA ARTOIS there.

Ummm...yes, Accentmonkey, that is STELLA ARTOIS I'm drinking there....otherwise known as WHATEVER WE HAD, BEER-WISE, IN THE FRIDGE AT THE TIME. But a fine beverage it remains (despite it's nickname as "the Beater").

Spencer Chow's picture upthread makes him look like Bryan Ferry ca. 1978. But with stubble. i.e. he looks like one suave mofo. Kenan still looks insanely cute (which still feels wrong to me, as it did when you were involved with your LTR). How the heck did a microphone start growing out of Huck's chin?!?! Onimo's little boys are so "I want to pinch their cheeks" cute! So many females here who have posted their pictures have made me wish I was still wearing glasses, because I had no idea how cool eyeglasses could look like. Poor accentmonkey looks SO hot! And she, maria tessa sciarrino, and Orbit all have that really pretty peachy skin tone that will undoubtedly keep them looking young and fresh even in their old age. Oh, and one of the cutest ILX couples ever has still got to be Sarah and Nick.

It's a screenprint t-shirt I bought...ON THE STREET IN WILLIAMSBURG, NYC FROM HIPSTER ARTISTS. It's a hand with the middle finger extended, but instead of a finger, a beautiful angel. I can't decide if it's hopeful or sacriligeous, but I like it too.

I didn't mean that at all snidely, actually: I was just impressed by the shirt! Dog-Faced Hermans entered because I was at a show a while back and D. Wolk was meant to be there and I thought "whoah, that guy's wearing a Dog Faced Hermans shirt" followed by "oh wait, look above the shirt, of course that's Douglas. I feel like I could safely expect the same from Ned, though I think the first time I saw him he was wearing a slightly more accessible Catherine Wheel Chrome shirt.

nabisco (nabisco), Monday, 11 July 2005 15:31 (twenty years ago)

Nick's new haircut looks good but I'm almost upset as to how much it has changed his whole look! It is trading apple-y cuteness for orange-y cuteness but still, did you ever bite into an apple at taste orange? I'll have to get used to it.

It's a robe folded in so it becomes a sort of ad hoc sarong. Actually, after my lunch with Vice I went to the Sally Army store on Bedford Avenue and bought another skirt, a long grey sombre satiny one, because I'm really into skirts for men at the moment, and yes, it is extremely hot in New York and wearing a skirt is so refreshing. A manskirt and flip flops makes me feel like I'm in Japan and just soaked in a sento. Embodied, relaxed, macho, all man!

Mark, you don't have glasses, right? Could we deduce that non-glasses folks subconsciously attract glasses folks and vice versa? ;)

Tuomas (Tuomas), Tuesday, 12 July 2005 08:55 (twenty years ago)

No, I don't have glasses and don't need them (yet, though my eyesight isn't what it once was). One day I will and I'm going to look SO HANDSOME.

Markelby (Mark C), Tuesday, 12 July 2005 09:01 (twenty years ago)

is it possible for you to look any more handsome mark?
(and thanks kenan *blush*)

dahlin (dahlin), Tuesday, 12 July 2005 09:17 (twenty years ago)

I don't have glasses and never will, and have mostly gone out with women with glasses. That's probably inevitable at my age, but I do like them - I suppose it's probably some dumb subconscious association with intelligence and bookishness, but they certainly add to anyone's sex appeal.

ailsa (ailsa), Tuesday, 12 July 2005 13:28 (twenty years ago)

I didn't need glasses until last year and I still only wear them while READING or WATCHING TV or WORKING. I think I am fighting it because I don't like me in them. Also, I can't wear glasses for five minutes without getting dirt and fingerprints all over them. Because I am a slob I guess.
