It would be nice if more people had the same name I think. I share the same middle name with someone on this board, which I find to be very companionable and nice, but I pine to meet someone with the same first name as me.

quotes about some guy's book my profound influence on ILX
"Mark Colemanâs words carry us along like a clear-running mountain stream into the beauty of nature, the power of silence, and the depth of meditative awareness. His great love of the wilderness opens us to the liberating dharma of the natural world."
"Mark Coleman shows us how mindful awareness tools can open the sacred book of nature and a help us to breathe the invigorating air of wakefulness, extending meditation far beyond the cushion and into the great outdoors of life itself."
"With simple, self-effacing clarity, Mark Coleman walks us into our senses. With such a guide, freshness of mind returns, and we rediscover a pearl of great price: the life-changing gift of pure attention."

someone at work thought I had another job I hadn't told anybody about since he found "me" on linkedin (and I have long hair as soon as I get home, right)
― StanM, Wednesday, 14 March 2012 20:13 (fourteen years ago)
This guy seems much cooler than me
― Une semaine de Bunty (ShariVari), Wednesday, 14 March 2012 20:16 (fourteen years ago)
When I wrote for a monthly in the mid-'80s, everyone on the publication started calling me Phil D., playing off the just-new Beastie Boys. Another guy and I wrote a joke reviews-column for a while where my byline was Phil D. I still see some writer friends from those days, and they'll still call me Phil D. when we first greet. And then I showed up here and discovered there was another Phil D. in the world.

I never meet any other Joshuas. but apparently it is a VERY popular name with generations that have come after me, so I dunno I guess all the younger Joshuas just stay out of my way or something.

No one else has my name at all, or if they do, they've stayed off the internet pretty much completely.

Mostly black dudes named Tre Baker (judging from Facebook and Google).
The men who share my government name all subscribe to right-wing PACs and actually go to the auto dealer to get their oil changed (judging from my e-mails.)

There's a woman on Facebook who shares my name. I friended her. She's pretty boring.

Meet T0m L3dg3r. Disillusioned. Bored. In search of comfort and ease. Willing to sell his soul—or at least his employer’s most closely guarded secret— to the highest bidder.
Tom has no way of knowing that within hours of committing his first felony he’ll be catapulted into a high-stakes drama as the airplane he’s on drops like a rock into a Nebraska cornfield. But as he faces what could be the final moments of his life, even his pitiful attempt at prayer is self-serving; "Please God please let me live."

I just checked on name distribution in the US via some ancestry website and there are only about 20 families with my surname in the US at all. So we're probably related to every single one of 'em. That's a lot rarer than I thought, for some reason.

Don't think anybody else has my same full name. Surname's pretty rare. Probably a lot of Stevos around though. & no I'm not the Some Bizarre guy or the danger freak.
― Stevolende, Thursday, 15 March 2012 17:21 (fourteen years ago)
Yeah, there's that one other dude with the same name as me.
I wonder if he ever gets strange people asking him to do exhibits of architectural sketches of Streatham and Cornish tin mines, like I occasionally get randoms asking me to do a remix?

I regularly get emails for someone with the same name who lives in North Carolina and sounds pretty cool. She used to live in NYC and orders from some bakery that is also 'a multi-class, multi-racial, queer space' and has received a Doing Good in the Neighborhood (DGIN) grant for her 'agency'.

Same though I'm pretty sure just nobody else has it period. Erica isn't uncommon obviously but both of my last names are very uncommon in general but particularly in the states.

I was less surpised to discover people who share my name (I already knew of an ex-NFL player who does) than to discover a number of people who share the exact spelling of my name (after years of virtually no one being able to spell at least the first part correctly).

The last time I googled my birth name (I wanted to see what would come up if someone were checking me for a job, I never vanity google that name because it ain't me) there were 4 people with that name, 3 of whom were musicians, and 1 was, like, a fabric designer or something arty like that. It was more than a bit weird, like I was living alternate lives.

A couple years ago I got a linked in request from my High School boyfriend. I don't even really use Linked in and thought it strange that he requested me there. It was even funnier when he confessed he hadn't goggled or looked me up on FB because it would have been a lot easier to find me that way. Oh, btw, he's a Private Investigator for a living.

I keep getting all of this email for a lady that has the same name as me -- apparently she's this big real estate agent that is involved in all of these business deals and charity and community events? Every time I get an email for her I feel a little bit more like a slacker.

there are two notable people who share my name, both of whom annoy me significantly. one is something senior in a hedge fund; he occasionally writes gross right-wing articles for the financial times. the other is an wannabe fashion photographer from vancouver who seems to specialise in incredibly boring "arty" "sexy" shotzzzzz.

Ha Nicole another lady with my name (the first one I knew about and used the name as a twitter handle etc) is a real estate agent too. I occasionally get sent stuff to do with escrow and other stuff I don't understand by other dozy agents.

While he was in Greece at the end of his life, Byron fell in love with, and was spurned by, a page (his valet basically I think) and wrote three poems for him. The page's name was Lukas.
