To go,

1) Kinga
2) Eugene
3) Makosi
4) Craig

leaving Anthony as the clear winner, and craig gets to cuddle ant till the end, and cry on the winner announcement...

See, I care! Not just "Oho I´m in Spain!"

right.. Sangria anyone?

mark grout (mark grout), Saturday, 6 August 2005 07:37 (nineteen years ago)

Craig will be out on Wednesday, almost certain. And Eugene could well win it all.

AdrianB (AdrianB), Saturday, 6 August 2005 07:55 (nineteen years ago)

ooh ooh, i like that wmv file from the other thread, i like it lots!
craig getting told off is something i could watch for hours on end.

g-kit (g-kit), Saturday, 6 August 2005 07:58 (nineteen years ago)

Do they have figures on how many people actually voted in the evictions this year? The numbers must be down, surely?

accentmonkey (accentmonkey), Saturday, 6 August 2005 08:10 (nineteen years ago)

No, my friend's dad works for Endemol and apparently the figures are better than last year.

theantmustdance (theantmustdance), Saturday, 6 August 2005 09:40 (nineteen years ago)

As this week the public votes for who they want to win, it's pretty certain you can predict that Kinga will be first out over Craig.

the new starts actually have a chance to win this one.

To go,

on Wednesday

(1). Craig

on Friday

(2). Kinga
(3). Makosi
(4). Eugene (sadly)

and the winner is, boring boring Anthony.

I think the last week will be a bit of a let down, and would have been far more interesting with Kemal, Derek and Science still in there, with Eugene and Makosi.

dmun drive-in (dmun), Saturday, 6 August 2005 19:29 (nineteen years ago)

#5: Craig
#4: Makosi (based on the mad boos she got for Derek's interview)
#3: Kinga
#2: Anthony
#1: Eugene

Anthony's the only one of the Final 4 who's earned a win, but I doubt it'll happen. Isn't there always someone who looks set to win but loses it all after a big argument (Ray vs. Steph, Victor vs. Shell, Jonny vs. Jade)?

Johnny Jingo, Saturday, 6 August 2005 19:56 (nineteen years ago)

Makosi only got mad boos in Derek's interview because it was filled with his fans and friends, and he didn't like her.

I don't think I will mind when Anthony wins. He has said a few funny things in the house.

Cathy (Cathy), Saturday, 6 August 2005 20:11 (nineteen years ago)

no.

No. Makosi got over 50% of the vote the week that Vanessa went. Over 50% when there were 6 people up for eviction is going some.

jed_ (jed), Sunday, 7 August 2005 01:15 (nineteen years ago)

So, is that official, first to go will be on Wednesday?

mark grout (mark grout), Sunday, 7 August 2005 05:55 (nineteen years ago)

oooh all i ever wanted to know about davina's past, thanks to the sunday news of the world... nice...

dahlin (dahlin), Sunday, 7 August 2005 14:50 (nineteen years ago)

I've done a 180 on Eugene. Everybody in the house is a spiteful cockfarmer apart from him.

Googley Asearch (Toaster), Sunday, 7 August 2005 21:49 (nineteen years ago)

he is still a knob-end, though (see: i too have done a 180). i think i'd rather anthony won, simply as a reward for having to put up with teh craig.

mark grout (mark grout), Monday, 8 August 2005 05:44 (nineteen years ago)

the hansel and gretel house thing happened with makosi as the victim. craig and kinga's attitude pretty much summed up the entire series for me.

(how did those chains get attached to each corner of the box? did they trust makosi to secure them?)

koogs (koogs), Monday, 8 August 2005 08:19 (nineteen years ago)

the only people not repellant enough to make me wish they won are eugene and anthony. i have a feeling if ant wins though, craig will want to service him right there on the spotas a congratulations present.

fizzle, Monday, 8 August 2005 08:22 (nineteen years ago)

I think it's possible that Makosi might go before Kinga but otherwise OTM in every respect.

If we're all going to start agreeing with eachother about everything this thread's going to start getting pretty dull as well, isn't it?

Will someone (ideally under the age of 25) please claim something extraordinary and outrageous, like they've never heard of Marc Bolan or Agatha Christie or Joseph Stalin or Mao Tse Tung or Spike Milligan or John Noakes, perhaps?

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Monday, 8 August 2005 08:28 (nineteen years ago)

I have heard talk of a man. They called him Elvis and claimed he was a king. I do not know him. I have no Elvis.

Kv_nol (Kv_nol), Monday, 8 August 2005 08:34 (nineteen years ago)

Stewart there is actually one person on that list I haven't heard of. But the name does ring a faint bell.

I think (hope) Makosi will survive longer than most seem to think - people aren't voting for the ones they hate this week, so it's about who has the most fans as opposed to the most haters. Makosi's a love/hate figure so I'm guessing she has a decent-sized fanbase. And Craig to go first as surely there is no one in the country whi actively likes him?

The more I see of Kinga the more I think she is actually good-hearted and kind, if childish and also very wrong.

The Lex (The Lex), Monday, 8 August 2005 08:44 (nineteen years ago)

"Stewart there is actually one person on that list I haven't heard of. But the name does ring a faint bell."

There is actually one person on that list who was included as a deliberate red herring.... although nevertheless I imagine everyone in the UK over the age of 35 will still be able to tell you exactly who John Noakes is!

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Monday, 8 August 2005 08:51 (nineteen years ago)

Craig, Kinga, Makosi, Anthony, Eugene.

dahlin (dahlin), Monday, 8 August 2005 09:14 (nineteen years ago)

ive changed my mind, i want makosi to win, and while she bops round in merry jubilation that shes won, i want her wig to fall off.

fizzle, Monday, 8 August 2005 09:15 (nineteen years ago)

Anthony's odds drifting all the time, while Eugene's odds are dropping. He's come out from 1/3 at one point to 8/13, whereas Eugene is now as short as 5/4.

This could well be too close to call. Another couple of "I want to win" outbursts (last night's "I know I'll be a celebrity when I come out", plus admitting he's entered for the past 4 years, could be enough) and he'll have thrown it away at the very last.

beanz (beanz), Monday, 8 August 2005 10:23 (nineteen years ago)

Two more years, Mr F.

And yes, Anthony said it to Kinga and Craig last night. I'd also forgotten he said in Week 2 "I'll do whatever me, if they want me to bring out a song I'll do it, if they want me to be in an advert i'll do it".

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Monday, 8 August 2005 10:25 (nineteen years ago)

To give you an idea of the "celebrity" of previous winners, Nadia entered the BB Australia house in the last hour.

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Monday, 8 August 2005 10:30 (nineteen years ago)

I'm picking Eugene, cos he's...Eugene! He makes me laugh virtually every time he opens his mouth. I still giggle over "Breeze blocks... seventh wonder of the world".

If not him then Kinga (The Lex was OTM way up thread) but I don't think enough of the rest of the British public are going to agree with me.

Mykosi will never win in a million years - she's been far too two faced during the whole of the show, although her obvious assets may keep her in past Wednesday.

Craig is possibly psychotic (and maybe dangerously psychotic) and the Anthony thing has made his chances slightly less than zero.

Anthony could well win it - personally I haven't got a huge amount of time for him, but he was popular before the Craig/vomit/alledged sexual assualt incident. He may well pick up more of the sympathy vote (christ, I sympathise with him!)

Guilty Boksen (Bro_Danielson), Monday, 8 August 2005 10:37 (nineteen years ago)

"I'll do whatever me, if they want me to bring out a song I'll do it, if they want me to be in an advert i'll do it"

"if they want me to have sex with craig live on national TV ..."

ok, geordie lad, let's see how desperate you are. the campaign starts here.

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Monday, 8 August 2005 10:40 (nineteen years ago)

"It was John Noakes! Who was he?"

Co-presenter of "Blue Peter" 1965-78 (including the classic line-up period with Peter Purves and Valerie Singleton) and subsequently his own series "Go With Noakes". Famous for his Yorkshire accent, his daredevil escapades and his attempts to train an impetuous border collie called Shep.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/cult/classic/bluepeter/valpetejohn/images/valpetejohn.jpg

Left to right: Shep, John Noakes, Valerie Singleton, Peter Purves.

The BBC actually took Shep away from him when he eventually decided to leave the Company.

Bastards.

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Monday, 8 August 2005 10:44 (nineteen years ago)

The weird thing is that lots of people text the show saying things like "Ant n cra1g r da bom! xxxx" indicating that people see them (and like them) as a double act rather than a bloke being stalked by a FUCKING MANIAC, meaning that when one of them goes, the other will probably get most of the other's fans.
This is why Eugene won't win, that and the "not another Cameron" factor.

Onimo (GerryNemo), Monday, 8 August 2005 10:44 (nineteen years ago)

Him scraping pigeon shit off Nelson's Column is still one of my favourite childhood memories.

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Monday, 8 August 2005 10:48 (nineteen years ago)

nelson fucked a pigeon?

g-kit (g-kit), Monday, 8 August 2005 10:51 (nineteen years ago)

And what about the time they had a baby elephant in the studio?

(x-post)

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Monday, 8 August 2005 10:51 (nineteen years ago)

Remember he appeared on Noel Edmonds "Late Late Breakfast Show"?
Edmonds introduced him and he got a big cheer then he said "So how's Shep then?" and Noakes had to fight back tears as he announced Shep's death on live television.
One of the most awkward silences EVER.

Onimo (GerryNemo), Monday, 8 August 2005 10:53 (nineteen years ago)

Noakes' corpsing at the baby elephant is k-classic.

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Monday, 8 August 2005 10:53 (nineteen years ago)

like a cross between Tricia and Jerry Springer...

it was actually "like a cross between Jerry Springer and The Vanessa show" which is worse.

i think eugene will win actually. the DS:BB poll has him with 46% of the vote with Anthony second at 21%.

jed_ (jed), Monday, 8 August 2005 10:54 (nineteen years ago)

Good point about Cameron/Eugene, Onimo, but he is much funnier than Cameron ever was.

You may have a point about Anthony/Craig, but I assumed a lot of the 'love' for Ant/Craig was purely because their relationship (or lack of one) was one of the only things worth watching BB for.

When it comes down to voting this week I think craig will go pretty quickly (or am I just living in hope?)

Guilty Boksen (Bro_Danielson), Monday, 8 August 2005 10:55 (nineteen years ago)

Latest from Paddy Power:
Anthony 4 - 7
Eugene 5 - 4
Makosi 14 - 1
Kinga 33 - 1
Any Other 33 - 1
Craig 40 - 1

Craig is now less likely to win than me.

Onimo (GerryNemo), Monday, 8 August 2005 10:57 (nineteen years ago)

Actually I don't know who Nelson was. He was dead before I was born, clearly had no charisma and obviously had only niche appeal (sailors, presumably).

http://www.napoleonguide.com/images/navy_nelson_dying.jpg

"Kiss me, Ant'ny!"
"Will ye just leave it an' fook off man Craig!"

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Monday, 8 August 2005 10:57 (nineteen years ago)

has anyone ever start picking up the habit of randomly saying the time in the big brother commentator accent? "twelve fifty-ehhhh, ehh em"?

ken c (ken c), Monday, 8 August 2005 10:59 (nineteen years ago)

OK - It's the last week in the Classic Blue Peter Big Brother House. John Noakes and Peter Purves are still not on speaking terms because of Peter's feeble joke at the expense of John and Sheps initmate relationship. Valerie is still tring to chat up Leslie Judd, whilst showing her interesting things to do with sticky backed plastic.

Meanwhile, the producer's mistake in casting Mick Robertson has left him without a friend in the house, his head still ringing with taunts of 'Brian May's little sister'.

Is that Alistait Sim at the back of Nelson?

So who would you vote out?

Guilty Boksen (Bro_Danielson), Monday, 8 August 2005 11:01 (nineteen years ago)

Day 21: The housemates have failed the Keep The Animal From Defecating On Camera task, luckily they still have plenty of food left over after last weeks triumphant Making Things Out Of Used Toilet Rolls And Double Sided Sticky Tape task.

Onimo (GerryNemo), Monday, 8 August 2005 11:04 (nineteen years ago)

"it was actually "like a cross between Jerry Springer and The Vanessa show" which is worse."

The thing that had me gripping the arms of the sofa with my knuckles turning white was that Craig had preceeded this decription of the the chat show that he hopes to host, by saying that he wants it to be "fun, but in depth...."

So which one of these two giants of modern broadcasting does Craig consider to be "fun" in their approach and which one's probing interview technique is more "in depth"?!?

(multiple x-post)

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Monday, 8 August 2005 11:07 (nineteen years ago)

Day 63: Janet Ellis has been removed from the Secret Garden when it emerged she's pregnant and unmarried. This increases the chances of Simon Groom entering the house proper, despite failing the "Don't Laugh When You Say Knockers" task.

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Monday, 8 August 2005 11:11 (nineteen years ago)

there'd better not be a BB7 :)

Short of it turning up on Prime Minister's Question Time, the higher voting rates this year would seem to make it an inevitability.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Monday, 8 August 2005 11:14 (nineteen years ago)

"Is that Alistait Sim at the back of Nelson?"

Just to the right of Steve Diggle from Buzzcocks, you mean?

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Monday, 8 August 2005 11:16 (nineteen years ago)

No, the one above Steve Diggle (Good spot though!)

Guilty Boksen (Bro_Danielson), Monday, 8 August 2005 11:18 (nineteen years ago)

"Short of it turning up on Prime Minister's Question Time, the higher voting rates this year would seem to make it an inevitability."

Following the success of Derek Laud this year, I confidently expect to see Gordon Brown, John Prescott and possibly John Redwood amongst next years' contestants.

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Monday, 8 August 2005 11:20 (nineteen years ago)

This never heard of John Wayne stuff reminds me of the other extreme, when a good friend of mine once said "Oh, everyone knows who John Dos Passos is!" (Modernist US author, in case you're one of the remaining few not familiar with him.)

First eviction is the one with least support. Could be Craig, but Kinga is just as likely. Best for Anthony if Craig goes, since I would imagine almost all Craig's support would switch to Anthony. There are only two contenders to win it, and they have a few days to fuck it up. I don't think Anthony wanting to win or acknowledging that he'll be a celeb if he does (this is uncontestable, as long as he doesn't say 'I'll be world famous for ever!' or some such) will do him much harm, and if the producers focus more on Eugene (decreasing numbers, and he is one of the two contenders) the tedious bore factor could harm him, or maybe he gets more chances to be clearly the nicest person in there.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Monday, 8 August 2005 11:23 (nineteen years ago)

"No, the one above Steve Diggle"

That was the one I thought you meant (perhaps confusingly I meant next to our right in the picture, rather than on Steve Diggle's right).

Is the next on on the right Noddy Holder or John McCririck?

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Monday, 8 August 2005 11:28 (nineteen years ago)

When Kinga came in and blanked Eugene in the first few minutes I thought she would suck, but I like her so much more now, especially after being really nice to Eugene and no more vindictive to Makosi than she has a right to be (yes, yes, I know). I'd be really happy if she wins. In fact I might vote for her.

Come to think of it: Hands up who's voted this series? To evict/save whom?
I've voted for Maxwell and Lesley to leave.

When ever Davina speaks to The House, and starts saying "This is Davina, you are live on Channel Four....", me and my gf always complete the sentence for her ".... please do not say fuck or bugger!".

I have taken this evidence as being a very strong indicator that we are a pair of extremely sad idividuals and really, really need to get out more.

eugene's marcus impression is a defining moment in televisual history

If you listen to that mp3, you will notice that Craig does not know what the word "submit" means. No wonder he can't get Anthony to do it.

I did not vote this year, and have given up watching the show entirely, including BBLB (and that's despite my deep and abiding love for Dermot). In fact the fact that BBLB has been really boring this year proves that the house itself has been rubbish.

accentmonkey (accentmonkey), Monday, 8 August 2005 12:09 (nineteen years ago)

It should have been Derek vs. Makosi, head-to-head, toe-to-toe, like Ali vs. Frazier, they had so much in common:

1. Black
2. Bald
3. Horrible right wing tossers

I've decide, having watched it for the first time in a while last night, that Craig is the (unintentionally) funniest person on television right now.

I'd like the evictions to go:

1. Makosi
2. Kinga
3. Craig

Eugene vs. Anthony. Eugene to win!!!!!!!

Makosi's chances of making an early departure may have just increased somewhat:

"Makosi is already giddy with excitement about Friday's final as she's convinced she will emerge the winner.

The diva was a little hesitant at first about revealing her predictions in the Diary Room, agonising, "I could be taken for big headed!"

But she soon gave in and giggled, "I don't like using the 'w' word, because everyone is a winner, but I think I'm going to be the last one out."

The nurse added that she definitely had her eyes on the prize. "I am going for the golden crown on Friday," she announced, before giving a rundown of how she felt her competition would fare.

Makosi mused that if it were down to her, Kinga would exit first because "she hasn't been on the emotional roller coaster".

Next out would be Craig because Makosi felt after 11 weeks she still didn't know who he really was. Plus she didn't care for the way he's been "trying to bring the worst out of Anthony".

Deciding between Anthony and Eugene was a little harder. Eventually Makosi decided to rely on the female vote choosing to boot the boffin out before the Geordie.

"Anthony has the body and Eugene has the brains," she explained. "Knowing culture today people are quite obsessed with the way they look."

Which led Makosi to conclude, "So probably Anthony, then me, ha!"

Ever heard of counting your chickens before they've hatched Makosi?"

http://www.channel4.com/bigbrother/news/newsstory.jsp?id=1848

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Monday, 8 August 2005 12:23 (nineteen years ago)

Oh Makosi, I love you but shut up.

The only time I've ever voted was to evict Maxwell. I'm considering voting for Makosi this week as she'll clearly need the support.

She's from Zimbabwe, there have been suspicions that she might be a mole, and we've never seen her without a wig.... you don't think she might turn out to be Robert Mugabe on a secret mission do you?

Her get out clause is that her Dad fell out with Mugabe - but wasn't he a police chief? In Zimbabwe? The question is how many electrodes on how many testicles BEFORE he fell out with the big man.

Eugene is closer to Jon, also from BB4 - a much underrated series.

Despite his insanity, I'd still quite like to see Craig win. It is his series after all, the others are merely his co-stars, especially at the moment.

The Lex (The Lex), Monday, 8 August 2005 12:44 (nineteen years ago)

"Derek thinks Craig should be thrown out of the house for his behaviour towards Anthony.

"If Craig or anyone else was treating a girl like that, they would have been kicked out a long time ago for sexual harassment," the newest evictee told press at the weekend. "But because the object of his affections is a bloke, that’s meant to be fine."

He added: "I really, genuinely think that the first stop for Craig when he comes out is the psychiatrist’s chair. He probably went in there to find himself and to become stronger. But what has happened is that he’s had a virtual collapse.""

http://bigbrother.digitalspy.co.uk/article/ds8485.html

All very true of course - but I can't help but wonder why (afaik) Derek never actually said anything even remotely like this either to the protagonists or the programme makers while he was still in The House; but actually offered Craig empathy and sympathy and if anything helped to inflame the situation with Anthony further?

Surely someone with obvious political aspirations like Derek would never seek to use people to obtain media attention and cheap popularity, simply by leaping on board the first passing bandwagon....

.... would they?

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Monday, 8 August 2005 12:55 (nineteen years ago)

I rather suspect that Makosi knows only slightly more about Thatcher than she does about John Wayne.

Unfortunately the myth of Thacher as a strong, determined, powerful woman (as opposed to the spiteful, arrogant, vengeful, megalomaniac, psychopath that you and I remember her as) seems to be alarmingly common amongst those not old enough to actually remember what the bitch was really like when she was power.

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Monday, 8 August 2005 13:01 (nineteen years ago)

Makosi's father, Rich Musambasi, quit his job when Mugabe's government asked him to go after opposition voters they'd targeted. I'm still very pro-Makosi purely on the strength of her reaction to getting chewed out by Saskia in racist rant mode. There's a lot of crap on the DS forums where posters are baying for immigration to meet her at the gates though if those mouth-breathers had like one idea about UK immigration policy as stands she's got a great case for asylum (and I hope she slags off Mugabe live to cement this). A lot of women under 25 admire Thatcher's achievement purely because she was a female PM, but yeah it is a shallow form of admiration which is undeserved under closer scrutiny.

I have noticed housemates being non-interventionist in this series because it seems wise to let the other fuckups hoist selves by own petard. Also faced with how many scary monsters and super creeps in that house, would you give a shit whether you were being honest to them or not?

I don't think me (or my parents) did particularly badly out of Thatcher - that doesn't mean I couldn't, didn't and don't see her for what she was.

In fact even my parents seem to be gradually coming round to the idea that maybe she wasn't quite as great as they once thought!

Vicious Cop Kills Gentle Fool (Dada), Monday, 8 August 2005 13:10 (nineteen years ago)

"....she's got a great case for asylum...."

Didn't I gather from somewhere that her mother and sister(s) are still living in Zimbabwe and that Makosi's hoping they'll come over to meet her when she leaves the house?

I'm not saying I approve of Mugabe by any means or that I would condone sending anyone back to any country where they were genuinely under threat of their lives under any circumstances; but if her mother and sister(s) are still living there and are free to come and go as they please, that would kind of undermine any claim for asylum on this basis, wouldn't it?

"(and I hope she slags off Mugabe live to cement this)."

If she was going to do so I think she'd have done it by now (I very much doubt if anyone who's left in The House now would have a clue who Roberty Mugabe is!) but I'm afraid I think they'd probably have edited it out if she did.

"Also faced with how many scary monsters and super creeps in that house, would you give a shit whether you were being honest to them or not?"

Ultimately probably only the ones who are controlling the microphones and the cameras.

Charlie Brooker on the housemates in his Screen Burn column:

Derek - a man so devious he probably pisses cobra venom.

Eugene - a well-meaning human pylon whose ineptitude and timidity meant he was out of his depth from the off.

Science - a bull-headed, one-man belligerence engine who delighted in provoking Maxwell and Derek to breaking point.

Anthony - a man so profoundly thick you could sell him a pair of his own socks for £500, even if he was already wearing them.

Craig - a high-risk FBI profile made flesh. When he wasn't proclaiming his own brilliance, weeping, masturbating, or shrieking uninformed opinions at a uninterested world, he was mindfucking his beloved Anthony

Maxwell (London's village idiot) and Saskia (burly, wrathful harridan with a face that could advertise war). Their daily routine consisted of bullying, bellowing, cackling at their own dismal non-jokes, glaring, sniping and discussing their imminent ascent to the toppermost peaks of stardom - until the last week, when, faced with eviction, they settled for sulkily rutting like doomed livestock.

In case you missed it, Federico BB4's guest column on ds is also worth a read, even though he's wrong about Science and Derek.

Is there really a surprise eviction tonight?

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Monday, 8 August 2005 14:08 (nineteen years ago)

The mucky Housemates have led the usually genial Eugene to rant to himself this afternoon.

Giving the kitchen a thorough scrub after the idle group left it in a state, the boffin's good-tempered manner briefly vanished.

Noticing that the bunch had left the butter lying out on the worktop all day AND with the film still on the box, Eugene flipped.

"Just put the lid on instead of leaving the film!" muttered the egghead.

He then mimicked his lazy Housemates, putting on a whiny voice and saying, "Oh I can't be bothered to remove the film, it's too much effort! I'm not here to remove the cover off butter, I'm here to look fabulous!"

Then a filthy saucepan sprung to his attention and he was off again. Rinsing it out in the sink he hissed, "Got time to make milk, but never time to clean up after themselves! Disgusting people!"

Onimo (GerryNemo), Monday, 8 August 2005 14:17 (nineteen years ago)

According to Davina on Friday the next eviction will be Wednesday.

Only the normal 22:00-22:55 BB scheduled for this evening; Wednesday's BB is 20:00-20:30 and 21:30-22:00 (with part 1 of that new drama series "Lost" that Channel 4 seem so anxious for us all to watch cunningly scheduled to run 20:30-21:30 and 22:00-22:55) so that looks far more like an eviction too.

Ste (Fuzzy), Tuesday, 9 August 2005 09:58 (nineteen years ago)

eugene will so not win.
during his radio club ramblings at Kinga, i was taking his side, saying to my BB watching pals something along the lines of "see, this isn't fair on Eugene, the way they've edited it. i mean, every housemate is going to have some really fucking boring conversations, it seems like they've done this out of spite to make him look like he's constantly dull, yknow? etc etc" ... during which time, i observed that he was still going on... Kinga hadn't said a word. moments later, i was yelling "OMG SHUT UP, MAN!" before Kinga saved us all with a well-timed makeover offer. I'll never stick up for the fucker again.

g-kit (g-kit), Tuesday, 9 August 2005 10:01 (nineteen years ago)

Ste is right, the straightness of the head reflects the order of eviction - or at least did for BB4 and BB5 (although I think Nadia contradicted this slightly last year).

Didn't work this year, as Sam and Kemal both had very straight heads and Derek has quite a tilted one. But based on tiltiness in the final week, eviction order is:

Kinga
Craig
Anthony
Makosi
Eugene

Which seems credible, actually.

N_RQ, Wednesday, 10 August 2005 07:56 (nineteen years ago)

Surely the nonalcoholic wine *was* a placebo?

I'm sure I read a news story a few months back about psychologists giving people nonalcoholic wine without telling them it was nonalcoholic. The British people became 'drunk', but other Europeans didn't. Presumably the BB producers read the same story as I did.

Forest Pines (ForestPines), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 07:59 (nineteen years ago)

I've never actually managed to get drunk on it, but once, many years ago, I somehow managed to wake up one morning with an absolutely appalling hangover, after having spent the entire preceding evening knowingly drinking nothing but non-alcholic beer.

Obviously I swore that day: NEVER AGAIN and have steadfastly refused to drink anything non-alcoholic ever since.

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 08:24 (nineteen years ago)

Last night's was really nothingy except for Kinga getting notpissed. Eviction tonight will be interesting but the producers could have made it more fun for us by having housemate nominations in one form or another. This year's BB has been best when people are scheming, and now they aren't because there's no need. They're just hanging around. For this week the producers have really taken their feet off the pedals, with "soft" tasks like Makosi's cage, pretending to be hypnotised and the play. These would have been more interesting earlier in the series (like the cage was planned to be) cos we already know what the housemates are like. These tasks seem designed to supplement the basic rations they're living off, not make them compete or act at their best/worst, which is what's much more watchable. For instance, out of all the hypnosis task we only saw Anthony and Eugene iirc.

Actually he'd probabky be a bargain for any small local radio company, 'cos if they employed him as a DJ (they could have him transmitting in the middle of the night and market it as a special service for people suffereing from insomnia!) I don't think Kinga's actually as stupid / ignorant / uneducated as her behaviour might at first glance seem to suggest - and as far as I'm aware she hasn't actually said anything that's made her look anything like as stupid / ignorant / uneducated as Jade Goody or even indeed Helen "I Like Blinking I Do" Adams...."

-- Stewart Osborne (stewart.osborn...), August 4th, 2005 11:47 AM. (later)

OK, OK, I take it all back....

Kinga has revealed to Makosi that she thought there were 12 hours in a day, but Craig thinks she's putting it on.

During a chat with Makosi about the cameras in the House, the Londoner made the startling revelation.

"When do the cameramen come?" Kinga asked, seemingly unaware that she was being constantly filmed...which might explain a few things.

"They are here 24-hours a day," replied Makosi, only for Kinga to say, "What about at night?"

"How many hours are there in a day?" Makosi asked her in disbelief, and Kinga replied she thought there were 12.

Then Anthony entered the bedroom and was told what she had just said.

"I'm going to ask you a serious question right?" Anthony said to Kinga. "Being honest, how many hours did you think were in a day?"

Once again she said she thought there were 12 hours. "You liar!" Anthony shouted.

"But there's one-to-12," she said meekly presumably referring to the face of a clock. "You're lying, you have to be," the Geordie said, adding: "I'm not the sharpest but you must have known..."

In her defence, Kinga then said she had heard of "24/7" and Makosi asked her what she thought that meant.

"It means 24/7, all the time, day and night," she replied quietly.

"So when I say the cameramen are here 24 hours a day I mean at night as well," an exasperated Makosi replied.

However, Craig was not convinced that Kinga could really believe there were only 12 hours in a day. When Anthony told him what she had said he spat: "Course she didn't, nobody thinks that. For f**** sake! I can't tolerate this House any longer!"

Yes, I'm at work, there's something on the IT page which says the mail system is ducked.
(back to the other tedium)

Even the housemates seem completely bored with the series. You'll read something that sounds exciting on the C4 site or the DS news page, but then when you watch it it's just so... meh.

Take this:

Give And Take
Day 76, 00:25

Kinga strayed into dangerous territory tonight, taking the mick out of Craig.

Craig complained at the noise Kinga was making in the garden for fear Big Brother would order them inside. "F***ing hell," he moaned from the pool.

"F***ing hell," repeated Kinga, in something approaching Craig's voice. "I'm Craig," she said.

"You better not be taking the p*** out of me," spat Craig.

"Why not? What you going to do, bitch?" replied Kinga.

"Don't sit there taking the p***. I've done nothing to deserve you taking the p***," said Craig.

"What's your problem?" asked Kinga. "I'm only taking the mick."

"Don't take the mick. I'm telling you not to take the mick," Craig said.

I'll tell Anthony"If that upsets you, what else f***ing upsets you?" asked Kinga.

Kinga retreated to the bedroom and bitched about Craig to Makosi. "You were the bigger person to let it go," Makosi told her.

"Every time I talk to him it's a different Craig," complained Kinga.

"Ignore it," said Makosi. "He said to me, did Kinga tell you the conversation I had...? I said, sweetie, it's too late to do a hate campaign. I never comment about anyone, good or bad with him."

Meanwhile Craig was not holding back on the subject of Kinga.

"If she wants to start taking the p*** out of me, I'll take the p*** out of her. Podgy belly. Size 12. No, actually, size 50 on a four foot munchkin. She don't want to go down that road because I can be a bitch. That's the thing about Craig. He can take it and he can give it."

As ever, Anthony didn't want him to go on. Unlucky, Anthony.

"She's here to make the numbers up, the desperate bitch," said Craig.

He may return to this theme later.

Sound spotentially exciting, but I bet it won't be. Although I'm quite looking forward to seeing Craig tell Anthony he (Craig) is the one who's going to get a modelling contract out of the show because he's the most handsome and photogenic. Amusingly, he is basing this on his official photo.

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 09:58 (nineteen years ago)

What happened to Derek?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 10:06 (nineteen years ago)

Kinga's innocence is beautiful.

The Lex (The Lex), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 10:09 (nineteen years ago)

"i'm still puzzled by the fact that there are still 5 left so the usual 1 on wednesday, 3 on friday final week thing won't suffice."

It probably wouldn't suffice if they were all going to get the normal chat with Davina, clips of all their best bits etc. etc.; but it would be perfectly adequate if one of them wasn't going to get this treatment, because they really have been a mole all along - aaaaaah!

Of course this theory is almost certainly a load of bollocks.

Double eviction tonight maybe?

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 10:10 (nineteen years ago)

Only the first two or three years only had three on the final night. The last two definitely had 4, so it's not unusual.

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 10:19 (nineteen years ago)

I am puzzled--didn't dermot let slip that this year's was going to be 13 weeks? to fit in with the "unlucky housemate" theme. they may well have ditched this idea but I am sure that it was an idea.

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 10:54 (nineteen years ago)

If they were serious about this "unlucky housemate" business, they'd have evicted everyone else and locked Anthony in a room with Craig for the final week.

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 10:57 (nineteen years ago)

are there betting odds on how long craig will stay alive in the outside world?

Britain's Jauntiest Shepherd (Alan), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 11:01 (nineteen years ago)

Kinga has told him today that he isn't very popular outside.

Luckily, he thinks she's lying to try and upset him.

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 11:06 (nineteen years ago)

I've been confused over the 13 weeks thing as well. What happened?

Mädchen (Madchen), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 11:19 (nineteen years ago)

(xpost what 13 week thing?)

The impression I get is that a large quantity of bets have been placed on eug to win, therefore his odds have dropped.

But, I still think the N.E. block vote will out.

(Cheers, stew)

mark grout (mark grout), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 11:22 (nineteen years ago)

Don't forget me big red straw donkey mate, OK?

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 11:31 (nineteen years ago)

I didn´t know you had one!

mark grout (mark grout), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 11:32 (nineteen years ago)

You mean you've forgotten it already?

So, have you left the wife & kids on the beach while you spend all day in the internet cafe discussing Big Brother, you sad man?

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 11:34 (nineteen years ago)

".... what 13 week thing?"

If this was going to happen it would be obvious by now from next week's TV schedules and (I've just looked and) it ain't.

Unless.... unless they're just going to leave the unlucky 13th housemate to languish in the house on their own for the last week with no food, no booze, and worst of all absolutely no national madia coverage!?

Of course this would be absolutely fantastic, especially if it was Craig they did this to!

Alternatively, maybe they could have a doube eviction tonight, where Kinga gets kicked out of the House and gets to do the photo opportunity in front of the cheering crowds, the chat with Davina, the video clips etc.; but Craig gets locked in a little room all on his own where he has to spend the next week watching Anthony, Eugene and Makosi, all having a fantastic time and all bitching endlessly about what a vile little prick Craig is; and reading piles of magazines and newspapers full of articles, pictures and interviews with Derek, Kemal, Lesley, Mary, Maxwell, Orlaith, Roberto, Sam, Saskia, Science and Vanessa, all having a fantastic time and all bitching endlessly about what a vile little prick Craig is....

Alternatively, failing that, I still think that Wicker Man idea's a winner.

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 12:00 (nineteen years ago)

Mark, why are your apostrophes all weird?

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 12:10 (nineteen years ago)

he's using 'backticks' rather than regular apostrophes ` v '

Britain's Jauntiest Shepherd (Alan), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 12:16 (nineteen years ago)

no he isn't (smacks self)

Britain's Jauntiest Shepherd (Alan), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 12:17 (nineteen years ago)

last night i voted for eugene to win. it made me feel good. i don't know if i'll be able to stop myself doing it again.

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 12:20 (nineteen years ago)

There's only one Google hit for frontticks.

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 12:21 (nineteen years ago)

"Mark, why are your apostrophes all weird?"

Unfamiliar Spanish keyboard with accents and stuff?

Not Mark, Stewart (Stewart Osborne), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 12:27 (nineteen years ago)

His apostrophes are weird because he's probably pressing the ´ accent key that's two keys below the ' key.

(I'm using a spanish keyboard. Not in Spain, I'm just pretentious.)

To clear soemthing up, BB3 was the first to have 4 out on the eviction night, all the others have had 4 since then. It makes more sense, it makes the climax (discovering the winner) a bit later than a third of the way through the show.

Cressida Breem (neruokruokruokne?), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 15:25 (nineteen years ago)

Alba & Minga would make such a great looking couple.

Mooro (Mooro), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 17:09 (nineteen years ago)

Craig out! Hooray!

Anthony looks surprisingly gutted though.

JimD (JimD), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 18:28 (nineteen years ago)

Awesome. Anthony out next please.

Remember, a victory for Anthony is a victory for Craig who will probably wank furiously over it if it happens.

The Lex (The Lex), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 18:30 (nineteen years ago)

I think Kinga is very pretty.

I can't imagine what the house dynamic will be like without Craig.

I will vote for Eugene, as a protest vote against what horrible people all the others are/were, and also because he has been very funny at times.

Also remember, a victory for Anthony is also one for Maxskia!

Cathy (Cathy), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 18:33 (nineteen years ago)

Right, now fuck off out of our lives and never darken our doors again Craig, you cunt.

All the Davina hinting is sounding very much like the rumour that's been all over DS today (and I think started on PopBitch) that one contestant will be offered £50,000 if they leave now and forego the chance of the rest of it.

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 18:34 (nineteen years ago)

I'm starting to find Kinga attractive. Is there a specialist I can see about this?

Oh and Aldo OTFM about Craig, obviously.

Guilty Boksen (Bro_Danielson), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 18:39 (nineteen years ago)

kinga was horrible, to eugene, the other night, with the condom and his virginity, etcs

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 18:52 (nineteen years ago)

she was quite funny with the pussycat tho.

i was quite nervous when they announced the eviction. craig must have been shitting himself.

jed_ (jed), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 18:54 (nineteen years ago)

I absoloutely loved Eugene's radio club talk last Friday. Is this Monday's reprise worth downloading?

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 18:55 (nineteen years ago)

She was horrible to Craig, too, when he was asking her not to take the piss. "What's your problem? I'm only having a laugh"

(I never thought I'd feel sorry for Craig, but I did then)

Forest Pines (ForestPines), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 18:55 (nineteen years ago)

I think it was craig that was being the aggressive dick, that time

"I don't have a problem"!!!!

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 18:57 (nineteen years ago)

I agree.

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 18:57 (nineteen years ago)

Craig reminded me so much of the Catherine Tate character that goes "am I bothered though?" when he was arguing with Kinga.

yes, Kinga is horrible to Eugene, sometimes.

Cathy (Cathy), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 19:07 (nineteen years ago)

DING DONG THE WITCH IS DEAD

The Ghost of Black Elegance (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 19:09 (nineteen years ago)

I'm convinced that, whatever goes on with Davina, the housemates and some proferred money, Craigy-chops will somehow be sleeping once more in the BB house tonight.

Btw, WTF no live interview ??

It can mean one of only two things:

1 - Craig is going back in, or
2 - Is it possible C4 are loathe to risk giving him a live interview, such is his mental frailty and pre-9pm pottymouth ?

darren (darren), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 19:09 (nineteen years ago)

Big Brother's back for interview after Lost, you fule.

She was so funny when she was asking him about why he hadn't had a girlfriend, though. Totally allowing him the space to go off on his "Well they always want commitment and I've got things I want to do on my own like... radio club" spiel.

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 19:11 (nineteen years ago)

Sorry - "she" = Kinga.

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 19:12 (nineteen years ago)

haha, craig is going back in??????????????????????

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 19:12 (nineteen years ago)

Um, I knew about 'Lost' Alba - I was just curious because as far as I know there has yet to be an exit interview that had to be recorded, rather than live, in BBUK's exalted history.

darren (darren), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 19:13 (nineteen years ago)

Yeah, but LOST.

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 19:14 (nineteen years ago)

Really, C4 must have paid a fair bit for Lost - they want to make sure people watch it by sandwiching it between one of their highly rated shows.

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 19:15 (nineteen years ago)

So what is Craig doing right now ?

darren (darren), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 19:15 (nineteen years ago)

i don't think i want LOST in my life.

jed_ (jed), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 19:16 (nineteen years ago)

I think he's gone back in!!!!!!!!!!

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 19:16 (nineteen years ago)

is this a king kong show?

jed_ (jed), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 19:20 (nineteen years ago)

Craig will be going back in. Eugene or Kinga will be offered £50k to swap with him.

Onimo (GerryNemo), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 19:24 (nineteen years ago)

!

jed_ (jed), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 19:28 (nineteen years ago)

Are they using canned laughter for this?

Cressida Breem (neruokruokruokne?), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 19:34 (nineteen years ago)

Seeing that interview, it's plain that Craig's just dull.

James Mitchell (James Mitchell), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 19:36 (nineteen years ago)

what a wasted opporchancity.

jed_ (jed), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 19:43 (nineteen years ago)

Oh no I thought it was on at 10! I've just missed it.

Cathy (Cathy), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 19:43 (nineteen years ago)

what the hell was that? where was the in-depth analysis of bunny-boiler craig? where were the clips of him having a full-on breakdown / raping antony? someone needs to have a word with the boy, and let him know that his behavious is UNACCEPTABLE. cunt.

michael grant (michael digby grant), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 19:44 (nineteen years ago)

WHAT A LOATHSOME CUNT.

Another piss-poor fluff piece from Davina. I'm baffled where they got that many people prepared to cheer Craig from.

"What I feel for Anthony is like he was a member of my family." Well, Craig's from Norfolk so I suppose that explains his behaviour towards him.

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 19:47 (nineteen years ago)

yep, rubbish interview, maybe he'd had an hour of therapy "coaching" first.

I sort of fancy Kinga too, I'm afraid.

JimD (JimD), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 19:47 (nineteen years ago)

YES!!!!

jed_ (jed), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 19:53 (nineteen years ago)

Britain's Jauntiest Shepherd (Alan), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 19:53 (nineteen years ago)

me too - i'm glad he didn't!!!

jed_ (jed), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 19:56 (nineteen years ago)

Wha' happened?

Leon C. (Ex Leon), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 19:57 (nineteen years ago)

oh no, now anthony will definitely win :(

The Lex (The Lex), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 19:57 (nineteen years ago)

(am v glad for eugene but anthony winning = lamest ending ever)

The Lex (The Lex), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 19:57 (nineteen years ago)

b-but, if he's going to win anyway, so he's just done himself out of an extra £100,000! How's that a good thing? Poor Eugene, glad it was him in there and not makosi though, at least.

JimD (JimD), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 19:58 (nineteen years ago)

Am I going mad? It seemed to be clear as day to me that BB said to Eugene that if he didn't take the money then the prize on Friday would double to £200000. Then Davina said no, only the other housemates heard that bit.

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 19:58 (nineteen years ago)

He didn't know they would double the prize if he said no. Sneaky bastards.

Onimo (GerryNemo), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 19:59 (nineteen years ago)

I'd quite like to be watching the live feed now, but I didn't know LOST was going to have MONSTERS in it! So I need to keep watching it.

JimD (JimD), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 19:59 (nineteen years ago)

If he'd rejected it, he'd have been £200,000 richer by Friday for sure.

But nice one nonetheless.

Penelope_111 (Penelope_111), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 19:59 (nineteen years ago)

More BB. Less LOST spoilers.

Onimo (GerryNemo), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 20:00 (nineteen years ago)

i loved the way they all obvs. thought the person going to the diary room was going to go out the back door so didn't move. eugene took the risk, good on 'im.

jed_ (jed), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 20:01 (nineteen years ago)

He didn't know he'd be staying in though - he thought he was going to be evicted if he took the money. And I don't think he has the self-esteem necessary to think of himself as a winner.

The Lex (The Lex), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 20:01 (nineteen years ago)

What would have been the point of him not taking the money, unless he didn't know the prize fund would be doubled? Fear of eviction? You'd have to be pretty cocksure of your chances of otherwise winning for that to be a clincher.

I need to watch it again, cause I thought they were clearly addressing him, in the second person, when they explained the £200000 bit.

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 20:02 (nineteen years ago)

Yeah, I'm thrilled it was Euge.

Did anyone else think that Anthony was not just a little bit miffed at the prize fund being slashed? Kinga seemed genuinely chuffed for Eugene.

Penelope_111 (Penelope_111), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 20:02 (nineteen years ago)

I'm confused because BB said the prize money would double if Eugene said Yes, and but then the question was not exactly Yes/No, so I thought that he had said Yes and that unknowingly he had made the prize money double...

How cruel BB is. Eugene won't win now, probably.

Cathy (Cathy), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 20:03 (nineteen years ago)

Alba i think you're right, i reckon big borther technicians/ scriptwriters got it wrong. or davina did.

jed_ (jed), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 20:05 (nineteen years ago)

The other thing is, once contestants get this far in BB, doesn't the actual prize money become kind of irrelevant next to the money they earn from tabloid interviews and the celebrity circuit?

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 20:06 (nineteen years ago)

BB told the housemates that Eugene would be asked a question. Yes = prize money halved, No = prize money doubled.

Eugene didn't hear any of that bit.

When it cut to the diary room it was explained to Eugene but with the 'prize money doubled' bit omitted.

Onimo (GerryNemo), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 20:08 (nineteen years ago)

I liked Eugene before but now he's risen in my estimation a hundred fold.

beanz (beanz), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 20:09 (nineteen years ago)

ah i remember now gerry.

jed_ (jed), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 20:10 (nineteen years ago)

Eugene won't win now, probably.

?? Isn't he out, having swapped with Craig? I am as always getting all my info from ILX.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 20:12 (nineteen years ago)

When it cut to the diary room it was explained to Eugene but with the 'prize money doubled' bit omitted.

So again - why would anyone have refused the £50000, then?

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 20:13 (nineteen years ago)

Because he thought he'd be evicted?

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 20:15 (nineteen years ago)

Oh, I guess I just heard it wrong. Poor Eugene, he is going to have a horrible couple of days.

I don't know where this Craig swap idea came from.

Alba, because a) they would look bad for 'cheating' the winner out of half the prize money and b) they would assume that that meant that they could not win and were to be evicted.

Cathy (Cathy), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 20:15 (nineteen years ago)

haha - that was his reason for accepting!

xp

jed_ (jed), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 20:16 (nineteen years ago)

So what? A bird in the hand is worth four in the bush, surely?

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 20:16 (nineteen years ago)

The swap thing didn't happen. He was offered a pile of cash, and accepted.

The housemates are all nodding at his generous spin of "at least this way there'll be two winners" when he's _actually_ sayign "I took half your cash! Get it right up ye!"

once contestants get this far in BB, doesn't the actual prize money become kind of irrelevant next to the money they earn from tabloid interviews and the celebrity circuit?

OTFM. That's why Makosi wasn't bothered, she's figured it will cost Eugene votes and therefore make her more likely to win.

Onimo (GerryNemo), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 20:16 (nineteen years ago)

that he thought he could leave, i mean.

jed_ (jed), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 20:16 (nineteen years ago)

Maybe I am awful.

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 20:16 (nineteen years ago)

I just think it would have been more of a dilemma if they'd told him about the £200000 possibility.

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 20:17 (nineteen years ago)

um, I was not paying the closest attention, but is he not still eligible to win? or is he out of the running now? I suppose if taking the money did not automatically = disqualification, then there would be zero reason not to do so, unless he thought that the GBP would hate him for 'selfishly' reducing the prize fund for someone else. he made the right choice, either way.

Alex in Doncaster (Alex in Doncaster), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 20:17 (nineteen years ago)

Makosi looked the most bothered of all the housemates i thought.

Alba you are awful, but i like you.

jed_ (jed), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 20:18 (nineteen years ago)

He thought he was going to be evicted once he accepted the money.

Penelope_111 (Penelope_111), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 20:18 (nineteen years ago)

From Eugene's wikipedia description:

well known for telling very long-winded stories which did not actually have a punch line or a point; his most famous one regarding the time he looked up the word gormless in the dictionary.

I missed that one, but I so want him to win because of it.

Onimo (GerryNemo), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 20:19 (nineteen years ago)

makosi wouldn't have taken the money

cozen (Cozen), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 20:21 (nineteen years ago)

It was weird, that gormless story, becuse I once looked gorm up in the dictionary, during a game of Scrabble.

He thought he was going to be evicted once he accepted the money.

Well, he thought he might be, but as I say, that's only a big deal in this context if you're pretty confident of your chances of winning. Which Eugene isn't.

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 20:21 (nineteen years ago)

yeah 'cos she's so sure she's going to win.

xp

jed_ (jed), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 20:22 (nineteen years ago)

Makosi is the most insufferable person in the world. In some ways, I wish it was her who'd gone in instead of Eugene. 50/50 split in prize money between Eugene and Anthony would make me happy though. Eugene's never going to be on the cover of Heat, is he?

However, if anyone else freaks out at Eugene over the money, it pretty much guarantees his victory. That would be nice.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 21:09 (nineteen years ago)

Surely Makosi knows she won't win, now, because she was up in the week there was a public vote between almost everyone, when Vanessa went?

Cathy (Cathy), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 21:10 (nineteen years ago)

she still says she'll win

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 21:12 (nineteen years ago)

That was a long time ago, and I can see how you'd believe it's not that meaningful now.

I think it was yesterday

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 21:19 (nineteen years ago)

I feel sad that no one else loves Makosi.

The Lex (The Lex), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 21:22 (nineteen years ago)

BB told the housemates that Eugene would be asked a question. Yes = prize money halved, No = prize money doubled.
Eugene didn't hear any of that bit.
When it cut to the diary room it was explained to Eugene but with the 'prize money doubled' bit omitted.

That's exactly right, and it was crystal clear when it was explained. Unbelievable that some people weren't able to grasp it.

The split second Davina called Craig's name Big Brother 6 ended. Aside from Science and Makosi, it's all, the whole series, has been about him, and that's just that.
The bit after the interview, where he embraced his mother, was a wonderful end to the series. All that's left now is just for the "stand-ins" - as Craig accurately describes them - and the make-weights to sit around and count away the remaining scheduled hours.

David Merryweather Goes To Far (scarlet), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 21:22 (nineteen years ago)

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 21:26 (nineteen years ago)

Penelope_111 (Penelope_111), Thursday, 11 August 2005 07:34 (nineteen years ago)

Makosi looked so fucking gutted that Eugene got that 50k. amazing stuff.

g-kit (g-kit), Thursday, 11 August 2005 07:39 (nineteen years ago)

50,000 now but without knowing whether that was it for your big brother career and without knowing that the prize money would be doubled if he declined.

eugene has always been suspicious when given such choices in the past (tea and cakes for makosi's freedom f'rinstance) and i'm surprised he wasn't a bit more so last night. he may have done himself out of 100k though (if he eventually wins). that said, i think he took the chance to visit the diary room (when the others were much less keen) because he thought his time was short anyway so the 50k was a bonus. (i also think that winning would destroy him, he's not the kind of person who would enjoy it)

that said, i wouldn't have put it past the BB team to have different possible outcomes planned depending on who went to the diary room. (although they didn't have the time for another eviction i guess)

(bit in papers this morning saying makosi is an actress who billed BB for her appearance. tabloid spoiling?)

koogs (koogs), Thursday, 11 August 2005 07:44 (nineteen years ago)

It's definitely going to be Eugene/Anthony in the final 2. There'd have to be a ludicrous turnaround in voting to make it otherwise. Who's going to win is still up in the air though.

Colonel Poo (Colonel Poo), Thursday, 11 August 2005 07:51 (nineteen years ago)

The split second Davina called Craig's name Big Brother 6 ended. Aside from Science and Makosi, it's all, the whole series, has been about him, and that's just that.

N_RQ, Thursday, 11 August 2005 08:08 (nineteen years ago)

Schoolboy error. I mean what's the point of the pointless 50K stunt? Other than making Eugene richer (a good thing) all it does is absolutely ensure Anthony has won BB6 (a boring thing). The only good thing is it means that Makosi will lose twice over.

Vicious Cop Kills Gentle Fool (Dada), Thursday, 11 August 2005 08:44 (nineteen years ago)

re: The Makosi Sun headline.

6,00o pounds would not pay for a ´professional´video plus makeover and all that. That´s more in the realm of a straightforward editing job from the interview footage, like they would have for all the potential housemates. (I used to work for a place that did video editing amongst big volume video duplication, back in the day).

Makosi describes herself as an actress-model, and has an agent. So what? They are also people too ( Iused to know some such, also back in the day)

The timing is verry convenient. The Sun seem keen on stopping Makosi betting, and getting every one to vote eugene. Some big bets placed some weeks back by some hmm reporter types?

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 11 August 2005 08:46 (nineteen years ago)

The timing is very suspicious but did anyone believe that Makosi was really just a nurse?!?!?

Vicious Cop Kills Gentle Fool (Dada), Thursday, 11 August 2005 08:48 (nineteen years ago)

This is one of those "Story is not THAT BIG".

My brother (who works at the BBC) says Maxwell was on the reserve list for BB last year

Vicious Cop Kills Gentle Fool (Dada), Thursday, 11 August 2005 08:54 (nineteen years ago)

Wasn't it Maxwell who was rumoured to be Endemol staff and that he worked on The Farm? It's in one of the earlier BB6 threads somewhere.

Onimo (GerryNemo), Thursday, 11 August 2005 08:59 (nineteen years ago)

funny how all of the 'rumours' never ever turn out to be true. i think i see a pattern

Ste (Fuzzy), Thursday, 11 August 2005 09:01 (nineteen years ago)

The maxkia.com domain was registered in 2003, the whole thing is meticulously planned in advance, including the timing of rumours & leaks.

Onimo (GerryNemo), Thursday, 11 August 2005 09:06 (nineteen years ago)

I'm going to start a new rumour here. Makosi was hired by Endemol to ensure that BB6 would be a success. In the last week she has to make sure she doesn't win, hence her Diary Room comments designed to do just that. The £50,000 was her fee for the series but Eugene jumped up and got to the Diary Room before she could - hence her annoyance at him.

Complete fucking bollocks of course.

Vicious Cop Kills Gentle Fool (Dada), Thursday, 11 August 2005 09:07 (nineteen years ago)

and don't let the fact that it's an horrendously designed web site for a water filtration company fool you.

Eugene 8 - 11
Anthony evens
Makosi 25 - 1
Kinga OR Any Other 50 - 1

Looks like Eugene's decision is a vote winner.

Onimo (GerryNemo), Thursday, 11 August 2005 09:21 (nineteen years ago)

My brother (who works at the BBC) says Maxwell was on the reserve list for BB last year

This was in the press.

If nothing else, this proves that some people who work at the BBC occasionally read the papers. Let's be grateful for small mercies!

Vicious Cop Kills Gentle Fool (Dada), Thursday, 11 August 2005 09:25 (nineteen years ago)

Radio 5 reporting Makosi to be removed from the house at some point today "in relation to the Sun story".

what's the beef? didn't vanessa get similar coaching?

N_RQ, Thursday, 11 August 2005 09:31 (nineteen years ago)

Eugene maybe finds the idea of doing Heat interviews and regional nightclub appearances a bit distateful so figured he might as well ensure he got a reward anyway.

Vicious Cop Kills Gentle Fool (Dada), Thursday, 11 August 2005 09:43 (nineteen years ago)

"did anyone believe that Makosi was really just a nurse?!?!?"

Actually; having observed her extraordinarily hysterical, almost pathological squeamishness; plus her obvious ignorance of even the most fundamental medical, first aid or even basic hygiene procedures; I'd have thought it was pretty obvious that she works for the NHS.

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Thursday, 11 August 2005 09:57 (nineteen years ago)

g-kit (g-kit), Thursday, 11 August 2005 09:59 (nineteen years ago)

Proud to be a Makosi-hata from the first time I clapped eyes on her. Curiously, however, the more I dislike her the more physically attractive I've found her.

Vicious Cop Kills Gentle Fool (Dada), Thursday, 11 August 2005 10:19 (nineteen years ago)

I watched the opening night on a pub tv with no sound and I picked Makosi to win, for purely aesthetic reasons of course, but she probably doesn't know what gormless means - so I'm voting Eugene.

(Get your Beat106 Eugenius Mask here)

Onimo (GerryNemo), Thursday, 11 August 2005 10:20 (nineteen years ago)

eugene must win

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 11 August 2005 10:21 (nineteen years ago)

Kinga to win. Just for Makosi's reaction.
Two newcomers walking off with the prize money would surely drive her to attempt murder.

g-kit (g-kit), Thursday, 11 August 2005 10:23 (nineteen years ago)

She'd call up her dad and get him to send her some thumbscrews, electrodes etc

Vicious Cop Kills Gentle Fool (Dada), Thursday, 11 August 2005 10:25 (nineteen years ago)

Eugene comfortably pulling away now, 1/2 vs Anthony's 13/8.

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Thursday, 11 August 2005 11:00 (nineteen years ago)

Some bookies are offering what I think is a generous 7/4 on Anthony. He could make a late run with favourable editing, remember the Orlaith vs Science swing.

Makosi now out at 50/1 with SportingOdds.

Onimo (GerryNemo), Thursday, 11 August 2005 11:09 (nineteen years ago)

Final vote breakdown:

1. Nadia: 3,863,696
2. Jason: 1,335,246
3. Dan: 685,995

There was a story circulating around the Derek/Roberto eviction evening that a large number of votes against Roberto were discounted as C4/Endemol believed the Countryside Alliance were block voting.

As a friend said, quite how this squares with encouraging all the ANT IZ FIT!!1!1! teenagers to vote multiple times, I'm not sure.

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Thursday, 11 August 2005 13:50 (nineteen years ago)

This is one of the first references I've seen to voting numbers:

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Thursday, 11 August 2005 14:10 (nineteen years ago)

BB1: 7.5M

If I knew what you were on about I might agree. Call me old fashioned, but I find it hard to be attracted to a woman who sticks a wine bottle up her fanny in front of millions of people on live television. What an old stick-in-the-mud I am!

Vicious Cop Kills Gentle Fool (Dada), Friday, 12 August 2005 09:05 (nineteen years ago)

"Call me old fashioned, but I find it hard to be attracted to a woman who sticks a wine bottle up her fanny in front of millions of people on live television."

What if she only did this in private 'though, just in front of a small circle of close personal friends and relatives, like, say, a family party?

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Friday, 12 August 2005 09:21 (nineteen years ago)

g-kit (g-kit), Friday, 12 August 2005 10:25 (nineteen years ago)

Eugene only strengthening. He's definitely the bookies favourite, despite all their "it's too close to call" posturing. But, as we all know, they're not necessarily right.

Craig cuntiness update: he was an utter cunt last night on BBLB, with Dermot possibly being even less hard on him (fnarr! I said hard on) than Davina. Plus he said "It's not a case of them (the public) wanting me out of the house, it's just that I got less votes than anybody else." Can we added deluded cunt to the cuntiness list now, or was it there already?

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Friday, 12 August 2005 11:28 (nineteen years ago)

i think delusion and a complete lack of self-awareness has always been quite high up on the List Of Reasons Craig Must Die.

michael grant (michael digby grant), Friday, 12 August 2005 11:39 (nineteen years ago)

It really is too close to call at the moment. I reckon Anthony might take it in the end due to possible surge of teenybopper voting tonight.

Colonel Poo (Colonel Poo), Friday, 12 August 2005 11:48 (nineteen years ago)

Who are the Redtops pushing as their choice this morning? You'd assume they'd both go for Anthony, because I can't really see "Eugene- My True Story: EXCLUSIVE PHOTOSHOOT" being much of a reader winner.

Anthony closing in on Eugene again in the betting. By 8.30 tonight i think it'll be neck and neck.

Any hope that Kinga might catch Makosi? She was being nice to Eugene last night and it changed my opinion of her (slightly) whereas i still think Makosi is a monster.

dmun drive-in (dmun), Friday, 12 August 2005 15:40 (nineteen years ago)

Best Eugene price is 8/11, you can get 6/4 for Anthony. I think it's a good bet as I expect Anthony to hoover up some late Makosi votes after she goes.

Britain's Jauntiest Shepherd (Alan), Friday, 12 August 2005 20:14 (nineteen years ago)

I should maybe have said (because I'm bored with Makosi) that Davina looks great tonight. Is this the first time she hasn't worn all black for a big show?

(xpost - still Emma, right?)

ailsa (ailsa), Friday, 12 August 2005 20:15 (nineteen years ago)

ailsa (ailsa), Friday, 12 August 2005 20:16 (nineteen years ago)

did I miss the bit where Makosi slaughered infants and drank their blood? what the fuck? (E - Alan is hiding on the sofa)

I think Davina's arse looks HUGE.

Britain's Jauntiest Shepherd (Alan), Friday, 12 August 2005 20:17 (nineteen years ago)

She's so scowly. And condescending-looking, with no right at all to be so.

(xpost - that was about Saskia. Davina looks great for someone who's had two kids, and her arse is smaller than Makosi's by miles)

ailsa (ailsa), Friday, 12 August 2005 20:18 (nineteen years ago)

Makosi deserved all that.

AdrianB (AdrianB), Friday, 12 August 2005 20:21 (nineteen years ago)

yes but the white sequins aren't doing her any favours... and she's been in the world of stairmasters and personal trainers for the past 11 weeks, not the world of toast and sofas. I know a girl who's had 2 kids and is still a size 8 so don't be giving me that kids stuff :)

I am just pissed off with her unnecessarily aggressive interview with Makosi. Like the crowd weren't giving her a hard enough time!

Britain's Jauntiest Shepherd (Alan), Friday, 12 August 2005 20:21 (nineteen years ago)

why did she deserve it?

Britain's Jauntiest Shepherd (Alan), Friday, 12 August 2005 20:21 (nineteen years ago)

Also, derail time, first time I've seen that Adidas ad, it looks GREAT!

Sorry, back to BB. Oh, Makosi was a two-faced cow. And I would love to look like Davina and I am younger than her and haven't had two kids. Mind you, I don't have a history of drug-addledness and anorexia either, and I am afeared of exercise, so hey-ho.

ailsa (ailsa), Friday, 12 August 2005 20:23 (nineteen years ago)

James Mitchell (James Mitchell), Friday, 12 August 2005 20:27 (nineteen years ago)

Makosi may have been 2 faced (or 97 faced) but she wasn't dull / a racialist / a stalker / a Tory / a bullying bitch like the others who didn't get any of the hard time she got just then!

good to see him getting uproariously cheered for being too 'mortally pissed' to remember whether he shagged makosi

Britain's Jauntiest Shepherd (Alan), Friday, 12 August 2005 20:52 (nineteen years ago)

Oh, he is the worst winner ever. So not worthy of it. Worst exit interview ever!!!

But still, he put up with Craig for 11 weeks. But how can Davina say his sexuality was never in question throughout?

ailsa (ailsa), Friday, 12 August 2005 20:53 (nineteen years ago)

Britain's Jauntiest Shepherd (Alan), Friday, 12 August 2005 20:56 (nineteen years ago)

What's with the cheering for his granny Hutton all the way out, then saying he would spend all the money on a holiday? I thought the way he was all cheering for his granny that he was wanting the money to do something nice for her, like Craig in BB1 and his friend.

Makosi blatantly only wasn't explaining anything about her game plan during her interview with Davina because she knew that the more she has to tell to the papers, the more they'll pay.

James Mitchell (James Mitchell), Friday, 12 August 2005 21:08 (nineteen years ago)

I am pissed, but Anthony must surely set a record as the only ever housemate to enter and leave to boos.

Davina's interview looked insightful compared to the one Craig got.

(that took more effort then it appeared, I am going to collapse into a drunken heap now)

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Friday, 12 August 2005 21:09 (nineteen years ago)

haha i think it was more of a case makosi was just so stunned at getting booed constantly - anyone would find it hard to answer questions like those in the circumstances

pj mac (pj mac), Friday, 12 August 2005 21:10 (nineteen years ago)

jed_ (jed), Friday, 12 August 2005 23:06 (nineteen years ago)

I wish Eugene had won now. I didnt' realise how annoying Anthony was until his interview, all he was till that point "the bloke that was less annoying than Craig".

ailsa (ailsa), Friday, 12 August 2005 23:17 (nineteen years ago)

boring predictable sauchihall street type person.

jed_ (jed), Friday, 12 August 2005 23:26 (nineteen years ago)

eugene's interview was delightful. he brims over with goofy charm.

i liked anthony less after his interview. he came across quite competitive and big-headed. his answers to questions about eugene's money dilema and the makosi pool incident made him seem a tad rude and ungracious, or something.

i still think he was a nice enough fellow, though, and deserved it more than most of his fellow housemates.

makosi's interview was seriously weird, cold, uncomfortable viewing. she really wasn't able for the crowd reaction, understandably i guess, it was a bit OTT. she was not the nicest human being in the world, but the constant heckling and chanting was quite cruel.

Ant could be popping up in various places (prob ant & Dec show for certain), but it's the sort of thing that dies out, or gets stronger, depends on the guy's aptitude.

Having said that, his highlights bits had curiously few actual highlights.

I don't blame Makosi for being reticent in that situation.

Jade Goody the most popular hm? She came third at the time, right?

I've got Peter Cook's Revolver TV series on DVD! Hooray.

Should I start another thread for the 'highlights/reunion' progs?

No.

I thought davina handled the interviewing well for once, with the exception of anthony who came off as a bit dim and a bad subject. her style seemed to complement eugene's niceness, and so that gave a good interview.

I love jade

ha ha, craig from BB1 finally resurfaced as a male stripper in that Bear thing later on in the evening. anthony, the same fate awaits you. (whoever said 'worst exit interview ever' otm)

vincent got fat. almost expected Maxwell to launch into Chim Chiminey or Step In Time.

there's one last BB show tonight, the last 24 hours before the final, and BBLB BBQ on sunday.

koogs (koogs), Saturday, 13 August 2005 09:12 (nineteen years ago)

"craig from BB1 finally resurfaced as a male stripper in that Bear thing later on in the evening"

He's actually been quite a regular feature on Bo Selecta, as well as appearing as a handyman on at least one daytime DIY show and I believe actually presents his own DIY show on satellite to a regular audience of 7 or 8.

"anthony, the same fate awaits you."

I disagree. Craig clearly possesses very real and very marketable skills and has his own toolkit and everything. What skills does Anthony have?

"almost expected Maxwell to launch into Chim Chiminey or Step In Time."

He clearly as a glittering career ahead of him as a pearly king.

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Saturday, 13 August 2005 09:25 (nineteen years ago)

> I disagree.

actually, you're right. unless the current trend for daytime home makeover shows mutates, somehow, into a trend for daytime 70s dancing shows.

(actually, it could given the recent popularity of "strictly come dancing" (or whatever it was that the Breakfast lady won))

that said, i've also seen some of craig's makeover shows and wasn't impressed. Handy Andy he aint.

It's extraordinary isn't it: successive governments have taxed us into the ground, robbed us of our savings and our pensions, taken away our benefits, destroyed entire industries and communities, taken away our social liberties, destroyed the NHS, taken us into wars we don't agree with, rewritten the rules so many times they must have RSI: but I don't think I've ever seen the British public display so much naked hatred for any politician as they did for Makosi last night.

Dermot's more Sinn Fein than Tory

Vicious Cop Kills Gentle Fool (Dada), Monday, 15 August 2005 10:16 (nineteen years ago)

Makosi told Dermot that Davina was to blame for stirring the crowd up, which was fair comment imo.
On the reunion show I thought: Makosi came across quite well, barely bruised and unbowed; Kemal still sullen and seething that Makosi completely stole his diva role on the show; Science laid-back and funny ("what went on in the house, stays in the house"); Maxwell a gurning twot; Roberto muttering irritably about something; Kinga quite sweet (and in a big black jumper!); Orlaith cool in Jacki O shades and cheered up (well, she can relax now she has an FHM photo shoot under her g-string); and Anthony very, very pissed off with Makosi (for landing the big 'reveals all' News of the World interview and for not denying that they had sex)
Ant: "oookay, she's out to make money by selling her story to the tabloids, fair enough, but what she said hurt my family"
Mak: "Anthony has his opinion, I have mine. But because I'm a girl I have to be the one brought down"

David Merryweather Goes To Far (scarlet), Monday, 15 August 2005 10:32 (nineteen years ago)

I had to laugh this morning as I listened to press conference clips by Aled on the Chris Moyles show. Three of the final four housemates were charming, and engaging him in conversation during the questioning. Then he turned to Anthony.

"I love Chris Moyles, can you get us on his show?"
"I love Soccer AM, can you get us on that?"

The desperation in his voice was palpable.

If the producers of Celebrity Love Island have any sense they should sign him up for next year, he'll say yes to anything at the moment. Then they should invite Craig.

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Monday, 15 August 2005 10:33 (nineteen years ago)

the "makosi's stories hurt my family" business is a bit rich. how did she get the story to sell in the first place, anthony?

lauren (laurenp), Monday, 15 August 2005 10:36 (nineteen years ago)

What a big baby Anthony is, and such a missed opportunity for Makosi to point out a few more home truths (but she was petrified - apparently 300 people have complained to Ofcom about either Davina or racist chanting audible on C4). A big batch of kudos fror TRYING to point out Craig's agenda (and Craig might have assaulted his 'friend' so would have motive for trying to get people to pick on Makosi instead). Davina was very poor and is just a door whore who got VERY lucky.

All things considered, he had to have shagged her. A nurse is NOT going to ask for emergency contraception ON LIVE TV unless she's sure she needs it; any woman would freak about pregnancy after unprotected sex, which Makosi did until she repoted to BB (and hence the nation) that her period had arrived.

suzy (suzy), Monday, 15 August 2005 11:24 (nineteen years ago)

"A nurse is NOT going to ask for emergency contraception ON LIVE TV unless she's sure she needs it; any woman would freak about pregnancy after unprotected sex, which Makosi did until she repoted to BB (and hence the nation) that her period had arrived."

But actually she didn't, did she?

She waited far too late for the morning after pill before she said anything at all to anyone (although I don't know what Makosi's religious beliefs are, so there might conceivably - if you'll forgive the pun - be an explanation there) and she also indicated that she believed that it was too soon for a pregnancy test because this wouldn't work yet; although I'm given to understand that modern pregnancy tests can actually give a resuly extremely quickly after the event, and that she would certainly have been able to obtain an answer one way or another at the time, but for reasons known only to herself didn't seem to want one.

I also think that a (halfway competent) nurse who knew she'd had unprotected sex would have realised that pregnancy was - and indeed would still be right now - arguably the least of her worries!

I must admit that at the time I was inclined to view all of this as evidence that maybe she wasn't a nurse at all - now it merely reinforces my belief that either:
(a) she's an utterly crap nurse;
(b) she was making it up all along (which actually I don't have too much trouble with - after all, it is a game show and Anthony certainly gave her the material to work with); or
(c) both.

Also I think her revelation that her next period had conveniently started a week early, came suspiciously soon after she heard the crowd outside booing when her name was mentioned; and looked suspiciously to me like Makosi deperately trying to backtrack after discovering that one of her cunning little plots had unfortunately backfired.

Of course the general public were absolutely delighted with Makosi when she was winding up the other housemates and manipulating them and quietly taking the piss out of them - but when they realised that she was attempting to do the same to the general public, they turned on her.

Big Brother 6: Anthony set for West End stage debut

BIG Brother winner Anthony Hutton looks set to star in a West End production of Saturday Night Fever.

Anthony walked away with £50,000 on Friday after winning the reality TV show, and now the Daily Star reports that the Geordie dancer is in line to play Tony Moreno in the West End hit.

A spokesman for the show told the newspaper: "It would be great to have Anthony join the show. We've had Kym Marsh from Hear'Say and Shaun Williamson from EastEnders who have proved to be great crowd pullers.

"After winning Big Brother, Anthony is a big celebrity at the moment and also a heart throb. Watch this space."

Anthony, who earns a living as a seventies-style dancer with a troupe called Boogie Express, is delighted at the prospect.

"It'd be mint to get a part in Saturday Night Fever," he said. "I'd love to be on the West End stage."

Presumably they'll be employing some sort of stuntman to do the dialogue.

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Monday, 15 August 2005 12:38 (nineteen years ago)

The accusation of lying is ridiculous, surely is you don't harm or abuse anyone (or, um, pass secret messages) you are allowed to use whatever tactics you like to attempt to win big brother. it's unlikely to work but you're allowed to do it.

jed_ (jed), Monday, 15 August 2005 12:49 (nineteen years ago)

i think makosi has some kind of psychotic illness.

"we didn't have sex"
"we had sex"
"i'm pregnant"
"we didn't have sex"
"we had sex"
"we had sex twice"
etc

if she was "playing a game" or whatever, it was an utterly crap one. i genuinely think she's delusional.

i was unpacking boxes in the new flat and caught the 1st half of the final. i didn't see makosi's grilling or anything, but i think maxwell was on what the tabloids call "a mindbending cocktail of drugs" before he was called up. Actually I think she simply made one absolutely catastrophic error of judgment, which was to think that by letting the public believe she was pregnant she would be able to secure her position with a combination of sympathy, of will-they-(again)-won't-they-(again) intrigue and with all of the advantages of an in-house romance without having to endure Ant Nice-but-dim hanging 'round her like a lost puppy all the time.

stelf)xxx, Monday, 15 August 2005 14:33 (nineteen years ago)

I think Davina accused Makosi of asking for morning-after pill and pregnancy test ohhhh about two seconds after she was evicted (not something we'd have seen her ask for in the DR necessarily). Craig in interview was oddly not asked whether or not he felt any remorse, though he came out to massive boos. "Makosi's a bitch!" was all Craig could say over and over, so he didn't get taken to task at all. Then in Makosi's interview Davina was all 'my friend Craig says...' when cross-examining Makosi about The Sex.

Methinks Granny Hutton would be fine with Hen Night Stripper running around the garden with a boner and snogging all the other girls in the house, but Makosi would be a different story and for the life of me I can't think why...

still, at least anthony's ok. i mean, he hasn't really got a brain at all.

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Monday, 15 August 2005 15:31 (nineteen years ago)

"why would you want to hate mental people?"

50 years of so-called Care In The Community.

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Monday, 15 August 2005 15:34 (nineteen years ago)

Presumably the production team had decided BB needed a villain and had instructed Davina accordingly. That or she had read the mood of the crowd of pinheads they invite to the evictions [from the sounds of it Maxwell and Saskia's BNP buddies had turned up in force] and decided to give them exactly what they wanted short of a lynching.

The problem with Craig is that he's fairly obviously genuinely unhinged and had Davina gone for the throat in the same way a she did with Makosi I think we'd probably have seen some sort of psychotic episode live on Channel 4.
