I am worried because all the sports pundits are saying the Red Sox will take it, and I know the Chisox have a terrible postseason record and the Bosox have the head-to-head edge this season but still...the White Sox are a good team, and Boston's pitching makes me queasy.

Morbius, seriously, get over it. The only reason why Yankees/Red Sox fans seem "disproportionately cretinous" is because they are disproportionately represented in the media (and arguably in the legions of MLB fans, if sales and revenues and merchandising is anything to go on, which it only partially is). The percentages are exactly the same for each team. I mean I haven't exactly done a raging scientific study on it but trust me, I'd love to believe Red Sox fans are a bunch of evil underbeings.
