5a. Maintain better contact with friends and not lose touch with everyone after graduation.
5b. Make new friends when I am all alone in Chicago. :(

slow jamz and white guy indie acoustic shit (Chris V), Wednesday, 28 December 2005 10:48 (twenty years ago)

What I said last year.

1 Smoke less.
2 Cycle more.
3 Waste less time.
4 Be more patient with the kids.
5 Complete all my half finished video games (not quite sure if this ties in with #3).
6 Clear credit card debts.
7. Lose weight.

(If this gets revived next year can someone please copy and paste these for me and save me the effort?)

I've managed to smoke less, cycle more and lose weight (though most of the weight lost was the same weight I put on after stopping smoking).

No joy for the rest of them :-(

This year I'm adding:
- stay off the ciggies
- keep losing weight
- see more of friends
- cook more
- read more non-fiction before my brane stops

(xpost --4. get wife pregnant-- that too!)

Matt #2 (Matt #2), Wednesday, 28 December 2005 18:55 (twenty years ago)

Jody, check out that "Soul Men" CD by Booker T. and the MGs if you haven't. It's a couple dozen cover versions that were left in the vault until a few years ago. A killer take on "I Was Made to Love Her," among others.

dali madison's nut (donut), Thursday, 29 December 2005 21:06 (twenty years ago)

should i stop eating red meat?

I haven't been eating red meat for a long time, based on fear of mad cow. I still think that's a legitimate fear, but have decided that not eating red meat was a greater health risk, because I was replacing it in my diet with too many calories, and probably also extra bad fats and sugars. And also I really wanted a fucking burger. I've had two in the last week, and they're like the greatest thing ever.

gabbneb (gabbneb), Thursday, 29 December 2005 21:10 (twenty years ago)

TOMBOT, Thursday, 29 December 2005 21:27 (twenty years ago)

ts: cow burgers vs turkey burgers vs ostrich burgers vs buffalo burgers

easy: cow burgers

though i should probably be focusing more on the lamb and the grass-fed hot dogs and the sirloin steaks. and i'm still definitely not eating venison. deer are angrier than cows.

actually, i should probably just go to the gym more than once a year.
