Surely, this is what Adobe envisioned the ultimate application of Photoshop to be.

I dunno; if they make any dough off this thing, it's genius. Seriously, $20 for a half-assed 20-30 min photoshop job. And tap into the market of folks who love their pets & there ya go.

seems like something they'd advertise in Parade Magazine

In reference to kingfish's first post up there, I think our military would be greatly improved by requiring its colonels to be able to hold three tennis balls in their mouths.

hahahah I wonder if the real people who won all those medals and took the original portraits these are based on ever see this kind of shit and get really, really mad. No...

kingfish has gene rayburn's mic (kingfish 2.0), Friday, 10 February 2006 16:56 (nineteen years ago)

I wish this site would expand to include other types of uniforms, for example football players, cheerleaders, maitre d's.

xpost you know my sister's cat actually used to enjoy wearing cabbage patch doll dresses. He'd actively try to put them on, we'd have to help him. Thankfully it was just a phase, but we never needed band aids to dress up animals. On the other hand, "dress up animals" never meant "astronaught regalia" to me as a 5 year old so there you go.

I'm sorry, but turkey stalin on mars w/o the proper protective gear(which apparently is kennedy-era american zero-G spacesuits) is just a bridge i'm not willing to cross.

we all must have our limits.

Also, pancakes don't have to breathe, so's they can remove their helmet with ease. The syrup would freeze, tho. Probably. I didn't think the molasses would run in January.

kingfish doesn't live here anymore (kingfish 2.0), Friday, 19 May 2006 15:42 (nineteen years ago)

perhaps these pictures are from a speculative oxygenated martian atmosphere, again, a la 'total recall'

also, for some reason i keep wondering whether the pancakes go all the way down inside the suit or just stop @ the neck

bangelo (bangelo), Friday, 19 May 2006 15:46 (nineteen years ago)

But even after we've terraformed Martian atmosphere to the point of breathability by our cosmonauturkeys & pankcakeonauts, would this terraforming also account for the temperature problems of the cold Martian day?

kingfish doesn't live here anymore (kingfish 2.0), Friday, 19 May 2006 15:57 (nineteen years ago)

Perhaps the folks at petsinuniform.com exhibit that rare breed of wide-eyed optimism not seen since the heady days of LBJ presiding over massive aerospace spending! We CAN get to Mars like Dubya said, and in our lifetimes! Our Stalinist Turkeys and Short Stacks WILL walk on the Martian surface! Quaid WILL start the reactor!

It's refreshing to see that this kind of idealism still exists in our weary days of war-torn cynicism.

kingfish doesn't live here anymore (kingfish 2.0), Friday, 19 May 2006 16:03 (nineteen years ago)

http://www.chemistryland.com/CHM107/AirWeBreathe/Comp/TotalRecallCollage.jpg

OXYGEN #3: In the movie Total Recall, there was an ancient alien factory that could release the oxygen from the Martian soil. This is actually possible. Extreme heat will cause the oxygen to separate from the metals and non-metals that it was bound to. Most of Martian soil is iron oxide, which would turn to iron metal and oxygen gas at high temperatures. In the pictures above, Arnold presses the touch sensitive on "button" of the oxygen generator. Next he gets blown out of the factory into the thin Martian air, which causes the air in his body to expand. Fortunately, the oxygen rushes out of the top of the mountain that housed the factory and they show Mars getting an atmosphere similar to Earth's. Actually, this atmosphere would be pure oxygen, which is not good to breath for long periods and would present extreme fire hazards. It's lacking the 80% nitrogen.

The Portland Mercury needed some pets in uniform. Fast.

It turned to Pets In Uniform.

We received four source images on a Friday and had each dog and cat dressed multiple uniforms by Monday. The client was so happy with the results that it featured several of the images on the cover of its weekly magazine.

"Oh my god. My stomach hurts. Thanks so much, these are incredible."

"We open on a portrait of a character I like to call "Pancake Astronaut." He is the living embodiment of astronaut food, as it is. Astronaut food is interesting. We build these massive rockets that are the culmination of thousands of years of technology, but the astronauts still need to eat food. This image represents that; a pocket-sized 2001: A Space Odyssey"
