Painful admission: my first order turns out to have been Status Anxiety by Alain de Botton. Second was The Lives Of John Lennon, which would've been far more impressive. Why oh why couldn't it have been the other way round?

Metal albums on the other hand are all priced like they're a first edition signed copy of Of Mice and Men, even on Marketplace.

Here's something I don't get, so please share with me anything I might be missing--why do some sellers send CDs media mail for Amazon Marketplace?

It's the minimum required by Amazon, but that's because the category includes books, and it is indeed much cheaper to send a book media mail versus 1st class due to the weight.

But the difference between Media and 1st class cost for a cd is negligible--on some cases, first class is cheaper, and in all cases, much faster. Media mail takes a ridiculous amount of time.

I can vouch for goHastings as an Amazon seller that always uses 1st class, and is very fast. It just sometimes makes me antsy about using Marketplace for non-Prime eligible options unless they clearly state how they will send.
