Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Sunday, 5 March 2006 23:52 (nineteen years ago)

why booze?

I don't know. I used to ride around on my bicycle with a secret drink of wine and crackers so that no-one could tell I had been drinking, always. Once a boy came down my street on a motorbike and I got on it and we rode around the block in the dark. Another time a boy knocked on my door and said is there anywhere to fish around here. I left the house and walked down to the beach with him, in the dark. He was much older than me, I think he might have been quite nice, but I never found out. I was babysitting my sister. I love my sister. After a really terrible time I ritually smashed a bottle in the fireplace and ate something to signal the end of that. It basically worked. I'm happier without happiness.

I wouldn't say it's darker, merely more exhibitionistic. (Also I hate diaries.)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 6 March 2006 15:28 (nineteen years ago)

half the people with LJs only seem to have them so they can comment on other people's entries, vote in polls etc. rather than doing any kind of diary-keeping themselves. fair enough really.

I tried to go to the Lyceum a week or so ago and was very upset to find out it was being refurbished. Partly because it was where I met loads of you for the first time and want to preserve the memory but mostly because it means the tapestry with the world's first Pac Man might have been removed from the upstairs wall.

Horace/Huk is still around, he's been known as "Dr. Superman" for the last couple of years, though these days he mostly just posts to I Love Comics.
