Big Brother (UK 2006) - We really should have used a Sezer-based pun in a title earlier: thread three.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Saturday, 3 June 2006 09:01 (nineteen years ago)

Eviction odds:

Sam: 5/2
Grace: 5/2
Aisleyne: 7/1
Richard: 15/2
Nikki: 9/1
Lea: 10/1
Imogen: 11/1
Mikey: 15/1
Lisa: 33/1
Glyn: 100/1
Pete: 100/1

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Saturday, 3 June 2006 09:04 (nineteen years ago)

Why has Imogen not been thrown out? You get banned from nominating for telling people that you were banned from nominated? So what do you do? Go out and tell Sezer that you've been banned from nominating? When do people stop getting punished and start getting kicked out. Also didn't Lisa apologise for nominating Lea - shouldn't she get a ban as well?

ailsa (ailsa), Saturday, 3 June 2006 09:12 (nineteen years ago)

the getting banned from nominating for telling people that you were banned from nominating thing was ridiculous anyway.

jed_ (jed), Saturday, 3 June 2006 10:20 (nineteen years ago)

wasn't it more because she said "I didn't vote for you (richard) and I wouldn't have" and other actual proper noms discussing?

RJG (RJG), Saturday, 3 June 2006 10:22 (nineteen years ago)

wasn't it more because she said "I didn't vote for you (richard) and I wouldn't have" and other actual proper noms discussing?

Yeah, this is how I understood it. Still, when they said "Big Brother takes rule breaking very seriously" I thought they were going to do something much worse than ban her from nominating again (although I'm sure in the house that punishment seems more more serious than it does to viewers).

melton mowbray's APOCALYPTO! (adr), Saturday, 3 June 2006 10:34 (nineteen years ago)

She also said she wasn't going to vote for him next round, and voila now she is correct.

suzy (suzy), Saturday, 3 June 2006 10:35 (nineteen years ago)

Right, I've just seen the eviction as I was sitting in a pub garden, in the sun enjoying a cold beer when naughty Sezer was thrown to the pitchfork wielding villagers last night.
I'm fairly sad-ish he's gone - I'd much prefer to see the back of Lea. See makes my skin crawl with her constant clingy, too-long hugs, all sticky-faced and blubbing. Pathetic sad-sack harridan, get off me!

David Orton (scarlet), Saturday, 3 June 2006 10:39 (nineteen years ago)

Sadly I was too late returning from a receprtion at the Tate to furnish a decent thread title here: BAIL, SEZER.

suzy (suzy), Saturday, 3 June 2006 10:56 (nineteen years ago)

as far as the title goes you're right, dom, we should have used one last week but the amazing thing is that just a week ago it seemed like nikki was fo sure next out and yet didn't glean a single nomination. it all turned so quickly!

jed_ (jed), Saturday, 3 June 2006 11:17 (nineteen years ago)

ET TU...BRITAIN?

FAIL SEZER

Mädchen (Madchen), Saturday, 3 June 2006 17:46 (nineteen years ago)

the 'group' really are horrible. and poor mikey. he just wants to play with aisling, but grace calls him back to watch the girls bitch about everyone. perhaps he gets what he deserves.

charlie brooker, on the other thread, was very funny, i thought, esp abt pete.

nikki just looks so constantly gormless, doesn't she? like a stroke victim or something, her jaw always hanging open.

i like aisling, she reminds me of my best friend when i worked at WH Smiths as a teen.

i am not a nugget (stevie), Saturday, 3 June 2006 20:39 (nineteen years ago)

Don't you hate gormless stroke victims?

Onimo (GerryNemo), Saturday, 3 June 2006 20:48 (nineteen years ago)

Apparently Lisa called Richard a "fucking faggot" on the live stream last night.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Sunday, 4 June 2006 09:17 (nineteen years ago)

IMOGEN THAT

ken c (ken c), Sunday, 4 June 2006 09:35 (nineteen years ago)

Wow, now alpha-twat Sezer is out the way, Grace is now firmly in dominant position as Queen Bee - not for the first time in her life, I'm guessing. She's ramping up her targeting of Aisling; when everyone else was in bed last night she and her wheezing henchwoman, Lisa, were miming with the beanbags what they would like to do to her. Pulling her around by the hair, kicking her and telling her to "fuck off, bitch" were their favourite fantasies.

David Orton (scarlet), Sunday, 4 June 2006 09:39 (nineteen years ago)

The refusal of people on BB threads to spell Aisleyne's name correctly is much like everyone's previous ignorance of the correct spelling of Shahbaz.

ailsa (ailsa), Sunday, 4 June 2006 09:41 (nineteen years ago)

Just watching last night's show now. Grace is vile, isn't she? Conniving little cow. There's a real trace of venom in her voice when she talks about the others that aren't in her little gang.

ailsa (ailsa), Sunday, 4 June 2006 11:10 (nineteen years ago)

I thought you liked her!

Alba (Alba), Sunday, 4 June 2006 11:13 (nineteen years ago)

I did until I started paying attention to her vileness. Am I not allowed to change my mind?

ailsa (ailsa), Sunday, 4 June 2006 11:15 (nineteen years ago)

Aisleyne's bikini...words fail me.

ailsa (ailsa), Sunday, 4 June 2006 11:22 (nineteen years ago)

I am generally against people changing their mind.

Ainsley looks good in the morning.

Alba (Alba), Sunday, 4 June 2006 11:23 (nineteen years ago)

Every year in Big Brother I form opinions of people far too quickly then come to regret it. I liked Maxwell, for god's sake!

ailsa (ailsa), Sunday, 4 June 2006 11:24 (nineteen years ago)

I like Grace! She could be the Sloane Victor!

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Sunday, 4 June 2006 11:31 (nineteen years ago)

Grace on Sam: "She looks like the kind of bird that should be in like Swindon or something."

I am off Nikki after her being involved in the bitching about Sam, and insisting to Mikey that Sam fancies him, like it was a hilarious joke. I hate Imogen and Grace and the 'normals' so much now that nothing Aisleyne, Lea or Sam do annoys me even slightly. I actually quite like Aisleyne.

Cathy (Cathy), Sunday, 4 June 2006 11:31 (nineteen years ago)

More thoughts stolen from the DigiSpy forums: could Mikey "do an Anthony", with Sezer as Maxwell, Grace/Imogen as Saskia, and Richard as his Craig?

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Sunday, 4 June 2006 11:44 (nineteen years ago)

Yeah, just reading that now. Anthony had some sort of chirpy geezer charm though, Mikey is just a gormless twonk.

ailsa (ailsa), Sunday, 4 June 2006 11:46 (nineteen years ago)

Yeah, that is the main area where that argument falls down.

Anyway, Lea to be next evicted at 10/1. I'm having a tenner on that, easy money.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Sunday, 4 June 2006 11:55 (nineteen years ago)

Glynn should totally record a version of 'She Bangs', and it should be Christmas number one.

chap who would dare to be a nerd, not a geek (chap), Sunday, 4 June 2006 15:01 (nineteen years ago)

I'd rather hear him do "Love Train" by the O'Jays.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Sunday, 4 June 2006 15:11 (nineteen years ago)

But Grace has changed. Before she rather hid behind a "yeah, totally, babe" mask of head-girl chumminess. She could be a bit of an eye-rolling bossy boots, but the arrival of the two new HMs and the eviction of Szzzr has really caused her snooty bitchiness to come more to the fore. I hope she stays a while longer though, BB needs a villain(ess).

Aish Aysh Ashleeeeen can be quite sharp! relatively speaking. When she was parading her daft bikini thing, Grace scoffed "is that your bikini??!", Aisleyne was all mock-shock "ooh, who's bikini is this?", meaning: what a stupid thing to say. Which put Grace back in her place. Momentarily.

David Orton (scarlet), Sunday, 4 June 2006 16:44 (nineteen years ago)

I quite like Aisleyne so far - seems down to earth and friendly. Sam seems a perfectly decent person but a bit of a pain in the arse.

chap who would dare to be a nerd, not a geek (chap), Sunday, 4 June 2006 16:57 (nineteen years ago)

My prediction for Friday is Sam vs. Grace.

chap who would dare to be a nerd, not a geek (chap), Sunday, 4 June 2006 16:59 (nineteen years ago)

Nah. Lea vs Richard is my guess.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Sunday, 4 June 2006 17:08 (nineteen years ago)

I dunno, Lea seems to be off the "normal's" hitlist now; I think it was Sezer who really had it in for her. The other group outnumber them now, and will quite possibly all go for Grace, and of the two new people Aisleyne appears to have integrated herself more. You may be right about Richard, though.

chap who would dare to be a nerd, not a geek (chap), Sunday, 4 June 2006 17:37 (nineteen years ago)

FAIL SEZER

[coughs politely, gestures in vague direction of a certain post on the very first thread]

"bail, sezer" is actually slightly better. but hey, this meta-thread-title amuses me deeply too.

anyway. i've been away and missed a lot of what's been happening since thursday night, although i did manage to catch sezer's eviction. GOD DAMN, i was cheered by that. which probably makes me a bit of a cunt - i mean, should anyone really be quite so gleeful at another's comeuppance?

ach, yes. why the fuck not. it's sezer, for chrissake.

i did think he got far too easy a ride from davina, and actually managed to come across marginally less twattishly than i expected. i see he's in the NOTW today wanking on about his "DATE-RAPE HELL" and how, ever since the accusation, he's been "careful around women". mmm, yes.

vile little man. absolutely horrible piece of work. verily, a walking penis, as i think shahbaz said.

all the grace-hate going on here sounds justified; like i say, i've not seen much of it at all but she sounds like she's behaving appallingly. boo hiss for lisa getting involved in it all too. i think i was probably spectacularly wrong about her.

ooh, it's on in ten minutes. better go and see what's up.

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Sunday, 4 June 2006 18:49 (nineteen years ago)

Wow, that opening had the feel of the start of a zany teen comedy!

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Sunday, 4 June 2006 19:03 (nineteen years ago)

Illing sings Tears For Fears.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Sunday, 4 June 2006 19:05 (nineteen years ago)

Nikki's fake tan is bleh.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Sunday, 4 June 2006 19:06 (nineteen years ago)

richard inviting imogen for dinner: really nice or REALLY CALCULATING? you decide.

lisa is really starting to actively piss me off.

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Sunday, 4 June 2006 19:40 (nineteen years ago)

HOW THE FUCK CAN YOU BE FUCKIN NICE TO ME WHEN YOU FICKIN KNOW THAT YOU FUCKIN DISLIKE ME?

jed_ (jed), Sunday, 4 June 2006 19:42 (nineteen years ago)

i was quite surprised to see sam shaving on this show.

jed_ (jed), Sunday, 4 June 2006 19:43 (nineteen years ago)

This is the thing, Richard _is_ my least favourite housemate, but inviting Imogen to dinner is _so_ nice that I'm prepared to overlook how calculating it is and say "Yeah, OK".

So I need a new least favourite housemate. Suggestions?

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Sunday, 4 June 2006 19:45 (nineteen years ago)

No need, I've settled on Lisa.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Sunday, 4 June 2006 19:46 (nineteen years ago)

"D'ya think she fancies us? She must do, she's a man"

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Sunday, 4 June 2006 19:51 (nineteen years ago)

OK, I like Lisa now. Chinese Shaun Ryder, complete with comedy homophobia!

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Sunday, 4 June 2006 19:52 (nineteen years ago)

x-post!

although nikki - "he's a man, so he MUST fancy us" - is in danger of turning into the new sezer.

WOW, lisa can fucking moan. do shut up, dear.

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Sunday, 4 June 2006 19:52 (nineteen years ago)

o noes, mikey is upset. christ. "why would she say that about sezer?" it's like watching a backwards six-year-old trying to work out why the big boys pushed him off his bike.

i'd love to know WHY richard did the imogen thing. if he was genuinely just being nice, i feel sorry for him, what with imogen being so cynical about it. still, either way: it will defuse tension in the house ... and bitching by imogen/grace will surely only turn viewers against them.

could richard have thought things through that far? i really don't know. either way, respect to him. the only downside, i s'pose, was having to endure the world's most tedious dinner with fucking imogen.

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Sunday, 4 June 2006 19:57 (nineteen years ago)

I missed it tonight, I was watching 24. Sounds like I didn't miss too much?

chap who would dare to be a nerd, not a geek (chap), Sunday, 4 June 2006 19:58 (nineteen years ago)

It's still on (just turned over after 24)

ailsa (ailsa), Sunday, 4 June 2006 19:59 (nineteen years ago)

Oh, OK. Sorry.

ailsa (ailsa), Sunday, 4 June 2006 19:59 (nineteen years ago)

And now it's finished. Pretty much an episode setting out the grounds for the next week, Richard and Grace leading their respective troops into battle, Lisa flipping out, Sam gets marginalised... should be good.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Sunday, 4 June 2006 20:00 (nineteen years ago)

I saw a bit of 'live feed' over the weekend, and at the same time as Imogen and Richard's intimate meal perdeux (why has she a megaphone, btw?), Nikki and Lisa were discussing being 'on' and Lisa was saying basically that she used to be fine pre, but in recent years she becomes a total maniac psycho.

So, I'd put it down to that, unless it happens again.

Anyway, back to old history...

Davina: "So, are you going to stay faithfull to Imagen, or are you going to tom it around like a famous boy for 14 weeks?"
Sezer: "Woah, YEAH!! ohbut.. Umm... erk... bzzz...."

mark grout (mark grout), Monday, 5 June 2006 06:41 (nineteen years ago)

ainslene is such a skank. her stripper's bikini is lols.

Enrique IX: The Mediator (Enrique), Monday, 5 June 2006 07:24 (nineteen years ago)

If only for the way it's winding up Grace. If it were me in there I'd have asked Aisleyne did she intend to also floss with that?

suzy (suzy), Monday, 5 June 2006 07:30 (nineteen years ago)

(x-post) I thought that was a bit weird, Davina saying "she'll be in there for another 11 weeks", not "she could be in there for another 11 weeks".

Imo had a megaphone because she had the quietest voice in the task.

Did nobody else notice Grace's "she thinks she's fucking black ... wigga" rant?

Mädchen (Madchen), Monday, 5 June 2006 07:30 (nineteen years ago)

i've warmed to grace a bit, have found a deep-set personality flaw within myself by being unable to criticize imogen for anything, think it'll be a noob v noob face-off this friday.

Enrique IX: The Mediator (Enrique), Monday, 5 June 2006 07:33 (nineteen years ago)

I'm so glad I'm not the only person to have noticed the Shaun Ryder thing. I hate Lisa, though.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 5 June 2006 07:39 (nineteen years ago)

speaking tangentialy, anyone see bez's advert?

Enrique IX: The Mediator (Enrique), Monday, 5 June 2006 07:40 (nineteen years ago)

Enrique IX: The Mediator (Enrique), Monday, 5 June 2006 10:08 (nineteen years ago)

the live feed really is dog shit this year, it's forever on the bird whistling tip.

Ste (Fuzzy), Monday, 5 June 2006 12:00 (nineteen years ago)

word.

can't the government draft some new legislation that would make it ok to slander the shit out of people on tv?

Enrique IX: The Mediator (Enrique), Monday, 5 June 2006 12:03 (nineteen years ago)

or just make an exception for BB ?

Ste (Fuzzy), Monday, 5 June 2006 12:05 (nineteen years ago)

either that or educate the dumb fucking housemates before they go in!

Ste (Fuzzy), Monday, 5 June 2006 12:06 (nineteen years ago)

It doesn't matter what they say, really.

If they say "My mother once went out to Sainsbury's, and got £10 more back in change than she paid", then that would get 'birdnoised' as potentially actionable.

mark grout (mark grout), Monday, 5 June 2006 12:09 (nineteen years ago)

This stuff IS old! Like, as old as Theo Walcott!

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 5 June 2006 12:51 (nineteen years ago)

waht

Enrique IX: The Mediator (Enrique), Monday, 5 June 2006 12:54 (nineteen years ago)

Best line of the series so far. Sezer (to or about Richard, can't remember). "We're just ghosts to each other now, ghosts!" WTF! Thank the lord my twat radar (twadar???) is still working and that even though Mikey is the best looking housemate ever, he just isn't ringing my bell.

Nobodys Prawn (Nobodysprawn), Monday, 5 June 2006 16:17 (nineteen years ago)

mikey is not the best looking housemate ever. no way.

jed_ (jed), Monday, 5 June 2006 16:21 (nineteen years ago)

Mikey isn't even the best looking housemate this year.

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 5 June 2006 16:44 (nineteen years ago)

Has there ever been a Big Brother suicide? If not, something about Sam just screams FIRST REALITY TV CASUALTY. That's if Shahbaz isn't busy knitting a noose right now.

This whole NUTTY GROUP vs HOLLYOAKS CUNTS GROUP is dull as shit. Been done before and just makes for vaguely uncomfortable viewing. I'd rather watch Nikki, Pete and Glyn doing their respective daft shit 24/7.

My predictions for nominations: Richard vs Aisleyne, and i'd rather Richard go, as Aisleyne as much better Grace-baiting potential. Hopefully either Grace or Sam will be up too and they'll be gone in a flash.

BB making Nikki over-pronounce the alphabet very carefully with exaggerated facial movements was sheer brilliance.

Affectian (Affectian), Monday, 5 June 2006 18:37 (nineteen years ago)

Lea is a horrible bitch.

Ronan (Ronan), Monday, 5 June 2006 19:19 (nineteen years ago)

Please keep me updated as am watching another side tonight!

suzy (suzy), Monday, 5 June 2006 19:21 (nineteen years ago)

Also wtf are they arguing about. It's so confusing.

Ronan (Ronan), Monday, 5 June 2006 19:22 (nineteen years ago)

I don't get Sam as a suicide case, I think she's OK with herself, just frustrated with the situation she's in.

Lea's lost the mother-hen attitude big-style, hasn't she? Do you think this is a reaction to "winning" over Sezer in terms of the public vote?

Yeah, Nikki doing the alphabet was nearly as good as Pete v poolcam for top moment of the series so far.

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 5 June 2006 19:24 (nineteen years ago)

Yeah, Lea assumes invulnerability now because she built Sezer. But Grace becoming a buffer between Lea and Richard rutting is something I never thought I'd see even 36 hours ago.

"I will not allow anyone else to cry in this house". How many fucking control issues does Richard have exactly?

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Monday, 5 June 2006 19:28 (nineteen years ago)

After the break: Glyn-larity regarding clothes washing! Best BB contestant ever!

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Monday, 5 June 2006 19:29 (nineteen years ago)

Yeah, I saw that on Diary Room Uncut earlier. Bless his little cotton (freshly-laundered) socks.

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 5 June 2006 19:30 (nineteen years ago)

Did people actually say whatever about Sam, or did she actually make it up?

Ronan (Ronan), Monday, 5 June 2006 19:30 (nineteen years ago)

WTF???

Before it all blew up did Grace not COMPLETELY lie through her teeth, thus kicking the whole thing off? Or did I misunderstand?

Alba (Alba), Monday, 5 June 2006 19:31 (nineteen years ago)

I got a bit lost in the she said that she said that she said but it seems to me that Sam is actually as 'too nice' as she says she is even if that does make her a bit mental

theantmustdance (theantmustdance), Monday, 5 June 2006 19:32 (nineteen years ago)

Fuckin hell, this episode is stressing me out. Richard may have control issues, but he generally uses them for good. Better than Grace and her fucking evil cow issues.

chap who would dare to be a nerd, not a geek (chap), Monday, 5 June 2006 19:32 (nineteen years ago)

MORE AMNIOSITY?!!

Alba (Alba), Monday, 5 June 2006 19:34 (nineteen years ago)

Grace saying amniosity aswell now?

Frig, xpost

Cressida Breem (neruokruokruokne?), Monday, 5 June 2006 19:34 (nineteen years ago)

AMNIOSITY IS SPREADING.

chap who would dare to be a nerd, not a geek (chap), Monday, 5 June 2006 19:35 (nineteen years ago)

At least Grace being a cow is entertaining! Top moustache twirling villainy from the sloaney funster!

Richard bringing the grade a women-hating there.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Monday, 5 June 2006 19:35 (nineteen years ago)

"Sezer was wikkid"

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Monday, 5 June 2006 19:37 (nineteen years ago)

GRACE = IAGO

Yeah Richard has control issues but he generally uses them for the overall good. He's far from my favourite housemate but he's not deliberately EVIL like Grace.

This episode is fucking horrible to watch btw. Glyn saved it just then though with his jubilant "I just learned how to wash my clothes!" outburst.

Affectian (Affectian), Monday, 5 June 2006 19:37 (nineteen years ago)

"Shit. Shit. Shit shit shit. Shit. Shit. Shit. Shit. Oh shit. Shit shit shit. Oh shit. Sorry. Shit"

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Monday, 5 June 2006 19:40 (nineteen years ago)

I like Richard. What's wrong with Richard? I think he handled it all rather well, and somehow is taking flack for getting everyone to make up. Lea is thick and blatantly being manipulated. Lisa and Grace are horrid and liars.

dustbing hoffman (dustbing hoffman), Monday, 5 June 2006 19:40 (nineteen years ago)

"I know the technique... to wash the clothes now"

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Monday, 5 June 2006 19:43 (nineteen years ago)

"I know how to make a pasta"

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Monday, 5 June 2006 19:43 (nineteen years ago)

I pissed myself at "I know how to make a sandwich". Glynn for president of Wales.

chap who would dare to be a nerd, not a geek (chap), Monday, 5 June 2006 19:45 (nineteen years ago)

haha that diary room scene just rescued the entire episode. He was glowing with pride!

Affectian (Affectian), Monday, 5 June 2006 19:45 (nineteen years ago)

"I know how to make a sandwich" - aaawww. I LOVE GLYN! (xpost)

(Pete's slipped under the radar somewhat, hasn't he?)

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 5 June 2006 19:46 (nineteen years ago)

Do you supose he was genuinely mystified about the mechanics of sandwich making until now?

Pete is being very sensible and staying well out of it.

chap who would dare to be a nerd, not a geek (chap), Monday, 5 June 2006 19:48 (nineteen years ago)

Sam is dead in the voting this week.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Monday, 5 June 2006 19:51 (nineteen years ago)

Good grief, just when I think Nikki can't get any more shallow, she drains a little more from the pool.

Alba (Alba), Monday, 5 June 2006 19:53 (nineteen years ago)

MIKEY AND GRACE KISS OMG

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Monday, 5 June 2006 19:58 (nineteen years ago)

And yeah, Nikki was awful this episode. Nikki fans: please defend.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Monday, 5 June 2006 19:58 (nineteen years ago)

*yawn*

When's the kit-kat-winning publicity-seeking freak going in then?

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 5 June 2006 19:59 (nineteen years ago)

(I was yawning at Grace/Mikey snog action, btw, not at Dawn. And yes, Nikki was horrendous. "that man-beast...that's vulgarity...how dare HE suggest I would do *that* with anyone in this house" etc.)

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 5 June 2006 20:01 (nineteen years ago)

you mean, when's ray's mate going in?

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 5 June 2006 20:01 (nineteen years ago)

No. I'm succeeding in not clicking on the DS link to Lea's pr0n film either.

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 5 June 2006 20:02 (nineteen years ago)

My amniosity for Nikki's "I have shit on my top lip" face grows daily.

She held the same expression for 5 minutes this morning while she was attempting to clean a worktop by holding a cloth between the fingernails of her thumb and forefinger and pulling it gently across the dirty surface.
She eventually realised this was getting her nowhere and bravely donned a pink glove (are they still called marigolds if they're pink?) and continued to use the exact same technique, but with an even more screwed-up face.

Onimo (GerryNemo), Monday, 5 June 2006 20:05 (nineteen years ago)

Doesn't Grace understand that bitching about everybody to everybody else is only going to increase the chances of a Nasty-Nick-style-road-to-Damascus epiphany when people figure it out?
Right enough, if Lea's anything to go by, it could be a wee while coming.

Hazey Jane (SongsWereLines), Monday, 5 June 2006 20:06 (nineteen years ago)

I'm back to hating Nikki again now. The girl's a rollercoaster ride.

Anyone else feel like shouting "LOOK BEHIND YOU!" at Lea?

chap who would dare to be a nerd, not a geek (chap), Monday, 5 June 2006 20:06 (nineteen years ago)

Back to Grace though - tell me if I got something wrong.

Imogen and Aisleyne are in the garden, talking about Sam and how upset she was last night about mean things being said and Lea in particular and how they think it was genuine and not shit-stirring.

Grace comes along and they recap for her.

Grace goes to Lea elsewhere in the garden and says "Look, they all believe Sam – did you really say all these mean things cause I think she might have just been shit-stirring". Lea goes ballistic and says no, she didn't they agree Sam is a shit-stirring minx.

Lea causes scene about it.

Grace then says to people in the bedroom (Imogen, can't remember who else) that yes she went to talk to Lea in the garden to complain about shit-stirring but that she DIDN'T MENTION SAM, and makes out that Lea is a mad awful bitch for causing a scene.

I kind of think I must have misunderstood because although I don't like Grace much, I didn't have her down as so brazenly malicious.

Alba (Alba), Monday, 5 June 2006 20:09 (nineteen years ago)

Well, Grace won't go this week. And if she can make it through to week 5, then she's gonna pick up supporters based on Chutzpah. Like I said, the new Victor? She's not got the charisma, and she hasn't got a comedy sidekick, but she has potential. Jungle Cats 2K6. Fo shizzle.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Monday, 5 June 2006 20:09 (nineteen years ago)

But blimey, the levels upon levels of "she said he said she said" Chinese whisper bitching going on in the house this year and this episode in particular is just mind-boggling. My brain hurts.

Alba (Alba), Monday, 5 June 2006 20:10 (nineteen years ago)

I actually think Grace is just a busy body and a gossip, more than anything. But then she defends herself from being found to be the one causing trouble whatever way she can, lying etc.

Ronan (Ronan), Monday, 5 June 2006 20:12 (nineteen years ago)

It really is a female dominated house this year, huh? Pete, Glyn, and Mikey are ineffectual and Richard is just like the headmaster coming down every term to go "Stop that" and then walk off again without bothering to enforce rule.

They _really_ need an alpha male type in as replacement.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Monday, 5 June 2006 20:14 (nineteen years ago)

Yeah Ronan, you're probably right. But when she uses those lies to land other people in it, that's pretty fucking shit.

Alba (Alba), Monday, 5 June 2006 20:15 (nineteen years ago)

I think BB realised how popular Pete was and has deliberately cut his coverage. We've hardly had a word from him in the highlights packages for days.

Onimo (GerryNemo), Monday, 5 June 2006 20:18 (nineteen years ago)

The hilarious bit is that Lea admited she had said Sam was 'overly nice' without realising this was exactly what Sam meant when she heard 'arse-licker'.
And yes, Grace is just brazenly malicious and manipulative. She's just not smart enough to realise she could be malicious in a constructive way and improve her popularity. I think she probably pulled the legs of spiders as a child. And told tales to the teacher just because she could.

SongsWereLines (SongsWereLines), Monday, 5 June 2006 20:18 (nineteen years ago)

This was the first time I have ever genuinely felt REALLY SORRY for a reality TV contestant. Sam is so not equipped to deal with the multiple levels of metabitching going on here.

This was actually Lisa and Grace using Sam as a way to get at Lea, wasn't it? In the short term, that's really clever, as it essentially ensures its Sam vs Lea up for eviction. In the long term, erm, you are making yourselves look like scheming bitches on national TV, girls.

Picking a side and fighting everyone not in your gang has never worked as a tactic, has it? Anthony only won through sort of bungling on through and Nadia wasn't really involved in all that either. Glyn must be closing the gap on Pete now - that Diary Room segment was legendary.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 5 June 2006 20:19 (nineteen years ago)

Victor would have won BB5 if he hadn't have had that fight with Shell. I honestly believe that.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Monday, 5 June 2006 20:23 (nineteen years ago)

Nadia wasn't really involved in all that either.

ORLY

Onimo (GerryNemo), Monday, 5 June 2006 20:25 (nineteen years ago)

Lisa barred from nominations, btw, for anyone (suzy) not actually watching the programme and wanting updates. Her reaction = that "shit, yeah, shit, shit" etc etc as quoted by Dom, in the manner of a totally gormless muppet.

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 5 June 2006 20:29 (nineteen years ago)

(commas wrong there, I mean that Lisa = gormless. Dom's quoting was perfect, and not in the manner of any muppet at all)

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 5 June 2006 20:29 (nineteen years ago)

The hilarious bit is that Lea admited she had said Sam was 'overly nice' without realising this was exactly what Sam meant when she heard 'arse-licker'.

There's a lot of arguments resting on exact quotes vs. paraphrasing this year. I'm never sure whether the people clinging to "I didn't actually use those words therefore I will deny vehemently that I said that" defence really feel they are in the right or not.

cf. Richard denying he had called Imogen "a false bitch" (later conceding that he had called her false but that he would never use the word "bitch", and Grace denying Nikki's accusation that she had said she would never "lower herself" by appearing in Nuts or Zoo (GQ and Maxim a different matter, obv.), just that she'd said that she personally wouldn't do it. Mikey later on: "You wouldn't though [lower yourself], would ya?" "No" (laughs).

Alba (Alba), Monday, 5 June 2006 20:39 (nineteen years ago)

btw, I caught up with Friday's episode earlier on. Man, Richard was being a twat. "No no, I'm not complaining that no one stood up for me when I was attacked by Sezer and Imogen. It's just that I personally would have intervened when someone's rounded on like that, that's all. It's just my way. No, no, it's fine."

Alba (Alba), Monday, 5 June 2006 20:41 (nineteen years ago)

Ooh.

From these comments it appears that amongst the housemate intake, Grace is the Hollyoaks Alistair Campbell.

suzy (suzy), Monday, 5 June 2006 20:42 (nineteen years ago)

Is that good, or have you gone off her as well?

Alba (Alba), Monday, 5 June 2006 20:44 (nineteen years ago)

Oh, I didn't realise Lisa actually DID use the exact words "arse-licker". As people on the DigitalSpy forums are saying, they should sit Lea and Lisa down and show them the recording of it. I'd love to be able to do that in real life sometimes.

Alba (Alba), Monday, 5 June 2006 20:49 (nineteen years ago)

It's interesting, which I like better. I was distracted last night due to being over at friend's with a takeaway after walk on the Heath and was trying to fill her in about it; she wanted to see Pete.

OH GAWD the DS forums.

suzy (suzy), Monday, 5 June 2006 20:50 (nineteen years ago)

This was the first time I have ever genuinely felt REALLY SORRY for a reality TV contestant. Sam is so not equipped to deal with the multiple levels of metabitching going on here.

I'm getting v.confused about the whole truth now but I'm pretty sure you're being naive if you think Sam was an innocent party here. Even from yesterday's show it was clear that she was doing her fair share of bitching (about Lea and Richard) and the DS forums are saying that she actually went on for ages and ages doing it. To try and put it all onto Lisa was deceitful of her.

Alba (Alba), Monday, 5 June 2006 22:08 (nineteen years ago)

Lisa told them all she was a Fire Horse in Chinese New Year signs. This = Bad Seed. Won't tomorrow be fun!

suzy (suzy), Monday, 5 June 2006 22:18 (nineteen years ago)

Re: Glyn learning the ways of the world bit: it started of endearing but by the end he seemed quite pathetic. Can't make a sandwich for himself? What's wrong with him?

LEA MUST GO!

David Orton (scarlet), Monday, 5 June 2006 22:20 (nineteen years ago)

Well either she's lying about her age her astrological sign. She's supposed to be 27, making her either an Earth Horse or an Earth Goat.

My sister's a Fire Horse, born in 1966, and she's not a bad seed.

Alba (Alba), Monday, 5 June 2006 22:26 (nineteen years ago)

her age or her astrological sign

Alba (Alba), Monday, 5 June 2006 22:27 (nineteen years ago)

Lea to Sam: "oh don't start crying"

THAT'S FUCKING RICH COMING FROM YOU! I thought.

Nikki's "man-beast" comment won't do her any favours, but I can't take her seriously, she cracks me up.

David Orton (scarlet), Monday, 5 June 2006 22:39 (nineteen years ago)

I felt genuinely sorry for Sam as well. Last night's episode got me all screwed up inside because it reminded me, as well as Lea, of being back at school. Trouble is, Lea has no clue it's her pal Grace that's the playground bully.

I can't watch this programme without placing myself in the house and wondering how I'd behave and if I were Sam, I'd have asked to be let out. It must be really claustrophobic in there.

Mädchen (Madchen), Tuesday, 6 June 2006 05:45 (nineteen years ago)

totally, madchen - its real playground stuff. bizarre.

nikki reminds me a lot of vanessa feltz, for some reason.

no one has mentioned nikki not knowing the alphabet, she missed out U & V.

I wonder how Joe Cole must have felt being left out of Nikki's England midfield fantasy. I'm worried the blow could affect his form at the World Cup.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 6 June 2006 07:19 (nineteen years ago)

Ha ha yeah, my sister's been saying Nikki's like a skinny Vanessa too.

Mädchen (Madchen), Tuesday, 6 June 2006 07:33 (nineteen years ago)

I win! I said it on opening night!

I'm also thinking Vanessa Feltz in that period when she lost all the weight.

ailsa (ailsa), Tuesday, 6 June 2006 07:47 (nineteen years ago)

i think Sams downfall is the fact she just cannot seem to stop talking. Given an infinite amount of conversation flooding from a persons mouth, they're going to say something wrong eventually.

and lol at Imogen saying something last night when she was accused of talking about the other housemates behind their back "do they think we've nothing better to talk about?".

Ste (Fuzzy), Tuesday, 6 June 2006 07:48 (nineteen years ago)

(OK. not opening night, opening THREAD. I still said it first)

ailsa (ailsa), Tuesday, 6 June 2006 07:49 (nineteen years ago)

Someone - not sure who, although I think it may have been in the Observer TV review a few weeks ago - wrote something about the stock phrase "I'm just being myself" as the stock defence for any reality TV person being called on their behaviour. So, no matter how odious, mean or dunderheaded a person's behaviour, if they're keeping it real it's OK. Harrumph. I thought of this yesterday as Mikey 'comforted' Grace in Nowhere.

M (Madeleine), Tuesday, 6 June 2006 08:28 (nineteen years ago)

[after shamelessy flashing boobs/penis etc]

etc

Ste (Fuzzy), Tuesday, 6 June 2006 08:40 (nineteen years ago)

Exactly! I was sympathetic to poor sad Sam in yesterday's show until she started on with the "I'm too nice, it's just the kind of person that I am.... I've never tried to be anything I'm not..." line. I instantly thought she was as daft and unself-aware as the lot of them.

M (Madeleine), Tuesday, 6 June 2006 08:45 (nineteen years ago)

Richard used the "I'm just being honest" variant a lot after the Imo-bashing.

Alba (Alba), Tuesday, 6 June 2006 08:47 (nineteen years ago)

Other reason for needing a new alpha male = someone has to make Mikey do something interesting rather than follow meekly after Grace the whole time. I still think he could grow on me once his foul girlfriend gets the boot.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 6 June 2006 08:52 (nineteen years ago)

'Honesty' and 'being onself' appear to be the highest rated virtues in BB-land. I suppose that Jade Goody is the perfect example of a person who is admired for her 'honesty', ignoring the fact that she has no other notable talents.

M (Madeleine), Tuesday, 6 June 2006 08:53 (nineteen years ago)

M (Madeleine), Tuesday, 6 June 2006 08:57 (nineteen years ago)

I can't decide on Richard, most of the time his whole headmaster routine goes way over the top and sounds patronising, i can understand why most housemates find him irritating. When he's not sorting out rows, he's better than most.

Well, they haven't realised it but he does sound just like Mr Garrison on South Park.

That's where all the money on Betfair is going. Grace has now drifted from the near evens she was yesterday out to 7/2, so you can pretty much guarantee her safety. Lea 5/2, Sam 6/4. Lea thinking she's indestructable after she stays in this week could be pretty entertaining.

Aisleyne

Nikki: "She's just a little bit annoying - and I don't think that she likes me, it's all a pretence. She turns her nose up at the things that I say."

Sam: "She's put words into my mouth, Lea's mouth and Dicky's mouth. Sometimes she's a little bit intense, she's just on my case - I just need my space."

Glyn

Sam: "She's boring - she makes me wanna fall asleep. She wants to make friends, but she tries too hard and it comes over as fake."

Nikki: "I gave her my dressing gown and she didn't say thank you. She talks too much London - she talks about stuff that I can't even imagine - I find it really boring, I feel really left out".

Grace

Aisleyne: "I just don't like her, I don't like the way she's come into the house and taken the lead. If I have to look at that arse again, I'll go mad."

Sam: "I feel that she came into the house and tried to stir up shit. I find her false as well, I can't take anything she says genuinely. She's just trying to play a game, be friends to everyone - she tries to play people off against one another."

Lea

Nikki: "Sometimes she makes the group feel uncomfortable. She wants to have it all her own way and she gets angry a lot of the time - she gets irate at the smallest things."

Richard "I'm starting to distrust him a lot. He made me question our friendship. He's acting... so that people like him."

Mikey

Sam: "I just find her annoying. She walks around the house really loud. Even when Sam speaks, it winds me up - Sam's voice goes through me."

Aisleyne: "She's an inconsiderate person with her comments and her actions. She doesn't say thanks for anything, she's got no manners. She made no effort with anyone else apart from the people she gets on with... she puts on a front... she's not really being nice."

Nikki

Richard: "At first, I thought he was really nice... but he's very sneaky, very devious. I don't trust him anymore. He tries to suck up to everyone. He called me a hypochondriac behind my back."

Sam: "She's driving me up the wall... just always there, every time I breathe she's next to me... it's suffocating me."

Pete

Lisa: "I've become quite annoyed by her. When I saved a bee from the pool and she kinda like wanted to kill it, put it out of its misery. I was just trying to help it out and she was going on and on and on about it. She's really getting on my nerves... she blows smoke in my face but then the next minute she says 'you're angry with me' when I'm not and storms off. I don't feel relaxed around her."

Nikki: "She doesn't eat food that we make her. When Sezer went she whispered to me that she wanted Richard to go and I thought that was unfair because he's been really good to her."

Richard

Lisa: "She doesn't like when I confront her on things. She jumps around the room screaming like a banshee. She takes everything the wrong way - Lisa agitates everyone. She smokes like you wouldn't believe, puffing all over the place."

Grace: "She wasn't very inviting towards Sam and Aisleyne. She has a strong position with the girls, she's the leader of the pack, the queen bee of the house, the plastics. She doesn't use her influence for positive reasons, she uses them for negative reasons... the other 2 follow her lead. She's got the strongest personality - domineering, very loud... Nikki and Imogen need to be more aware of the falseness of Grace."

Sam

Lea: "I think she's been to motherly towards Pete and Pete needs to breathe. Pete needs his own space to become himself. She's got a game plan, she's tactical, bitchy and two-faced. She makes me uncomfortable whenever I'm around her, I don't know if she's bitching about me. She had said I was an arse licker and was very suspicious of me because I smile all the time - that's just me. I'm very much a people's person."

Richard: "He gets himself involved in too many situations... he's all about himself and doesn't give a toss about me. When I talk, sometimes he won't listen to my opinions."

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Tuesday, 6 June 2006 18:55 (nineteen years ago)

Why was Grace crying?

a) Plotting and scheming just gets a bit tiring.

c) She was not crying, she was expelling the liquified remains of her victims through her tear ducts.

Funny that she kind of thinks he's alright now, but he's lost Lea in the process. Also, Pete nominating Lisa was fantastic.

Gukbe (lokar), Tuesday, 6 June 2006 20:54 (nineteen years ago)

I don't think anyone on this forum has accused Dickie of being anything other than up front - i've certainly not seen any evidence of game-playing (or rather channel 4 haven't shown any, hmmm...).

In a funny way, I'm not even sure that GRACE is intentionally maniulative, pre se... The way she's behaving might be more of a subconcious mechanism to ensure she's in a position of power, a hangover from being a popular girl in a posh school, maybe.

chap who would dare to be a nerd, not a geek (chap), Tuesday, 6 June 2006 21:11 (nineteen years ago)

Some folk on BBLB and BBBM seem to think Richard is a manipulator, and it also seems that most of the house does as well. I'm just not sure where it's coming from.

Prize for most clueless BB viewer has to go to my Mum. When discussing the housemates last night she said that she quite liked Pete but disliked the act he kept putting on. It turns out she had not clocked he had Tourettes and *still* thought he was more normal than most other housemates.

Lara (Lara), Tuesday, 6 June 2006 21:30 (nineteen years ago)

i've missed this for the past two nights now. i think this thread is probably vastly more entertaining. dom: you deserve foaming pints of beer for posting all that. thank you.

I think he's wrong about the relative ethical worth of insects and humans but he was right to save the bee from the pool, and even more right to nominate Lisa because of it!

Has there ever been a Big Brother suicide? If not, something about Sam just screams FIRST REALITY TV CASUALTY. That's if Shahbaz isn't busy knitting a noose right now.

Affectian - right sentiments, wrong person.

ailsa (ailsa), Wednesday, 7 June 2006 10:13 (nineteen years ago)

Methinks Dawn has just caught a massive case of the stubborns. She's already signed a release form re. the footage so her squalling there is useless.

Lisa also killed a spider with a lighter, so Pete was right in finding that a bit off. Bees and spiders are, as any fule kno, too helpful in food-chain terms to go around killing.

suzy (suzy), Wednesday, 7 June 2006 10:39 (nineteen years ago)

I thought all that insect stuff was just Pete winding up Lisa myself.

Dawn is very stupid, isn't she?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 7 June 2006 10:51 (nineteen years ago)

She's not stupid, she just doesn't want to be portrayed as crackers. Wait.

If Sam is voted out, it will feel like the GBP has given legitimacy to Nikki's horrid "manbeast ... repulsive ... he/she/it ... must fancy all of us" rants :(

I know. This is the first time I've felt struck by the "they must not be rewarded for horridnesss / they must stay because they are entertaining TV" dilemma that other people often seem afflicted by.

Usually I'm firmly on the kick-them-out side of things, but as I said before, no one in BB has really wound me up this year cos the villains are so ridiculous. Actually that's maybe changed since seeing Grace's behaviour over the last week.

Enrique IX: The Mediator (Enrique), Wednesday, 7 June 2006 13:06 (nineteen years ago)

on what mad planet is one not aloud to talk about other people if they aren't in the room?

Enrique IX: The Mediator (Enrique), Wednesday, 7 June 2006 13:06 (nineteen years ago)

Did you not see what Grace did? FFS. Lea flies off the handle and trusts the wrong people but Grace caused that to happen on this occasion and then made a point of denying to the others that she'd said anything to her about Sam, and it was all Lea's own mad doing! Evil!

BBLB showed the two clips next to each other yesterday to make clear her deception. She was patting her leg as she made her "I never mentioned Sam to Lea. We've done nothing to fan the flames. We're blameless in all this" bedroom speech. A nervous tic to look out for in future?

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 7 June 2006 13:12 (nineteen years ago)

I remember her doing it during her "We did nothing to Shahbaz. We were nice as pie to him the whole time. We're blameless in this" speech too.

of course, i'm entirely aware that grace manipulated the fuck out of lea (and imogen). it would be evil WERE IT NOT FOR THE FACT THAT 'BIG BROTHER' IS ACTUALLY A GAME SHOW AND SHIT.

lea was worse than grace because her whole "thing", confronting people about what they said she said about other people behind their backs, is so pathetic, and so aggressive, and stupid.

Enrique IX: The Mediator (Enrique), Wednesday, 7 June 2006 14:09 (nineteen years ago)

Or he is the Little Baby Gareth (Gormless Mix).

It's nice to see that BB have given the HMs tasks representative of comeuppances - Grace is a promotions girl, one assumes for slagging them off, and Imogen is a scrubber.

suzy (suzy), Wednesday, 7 June 2006 14:18 (nineteen years ago)

> i'm entirely aware that grace manipulated the fuck out of lea (and imogen).

koogy wonderland (koogs), Wednesday, 7 June 2006 14:24 (nineteen years ago)

Grace is also not going into the diary room to collude with the viewer yet.

I disagree. I think it's good to check out whether what people are reporting others as saying. She was too aggressive about it and unfortunately she ended up believing the wrong person, but it's good to not rely on what shit-stirrers tell you.

Victor was funny and open with the viewer about his scheming. Grace is not funny and gives off this horrible, self-justifiying "me and my mates are the innocent wronged parties" air.

I'd love to see what she'd say if BB confronted her with the evidence of her lying from Monday night's show when she gets out.

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 7 June 2006 15:06 (nineteen years ago)

"whether what people are reporting others as saying is true," that should read.

Nikki thinks Lea controls Pete. Lisa is pissed off because pete didn't put her down as a reference in the temps task. iMacs not so good on getting the YouTube to work, wvs.

Was Grace not head girl at her school? It's not so much the manipulation factor; what she's doing is gathering information in a cunning way and the people that seem 'manipulated' right now are simply reacting normally since they are all TMI types. Grace is not. Richard seems to me much more hyper-aware about outside public perceptions and acts accordingly (bouze fite nonwithstanding).

Sorry Suzy, I had to go out. Most of it is rub - Grace describing her "ideal man" and how he turned out to be a bit of a dick by being aggressive to someone who made a comment to her (apparently him being Northern was a factor in this behaviour). Her worst date involved her getting a swanky expensive meal with champagne and everything then offering to pay and having the bloke accept the offer - to her utter horror of course. She ranks herself at "7 to 8 out of 10" for looks.

She's cheery and nice and friendly and pleasant for the entire thing. I'm not sure it's her!

She had me in hysterics when she exclaimed "I'm very compus mentus for my age, I've met 25/26 year olds who aren't as compus mentus as me!"

At this rate, I may keep on watching....

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Thursday, 8 June 2006 22:46 (nineteen years ago)

So, which of these fuckwits is it going to be then?

Name: Matt
Age: 22
Lives: Coventry
Job: Barman
Marital status: Single

Why Big Brother? Matt thought it would be good fun to become a housemate. He found his Golden Ticket in a box of KitKats that he bought from the Internet

Barman Matt, 22, is an ex-internet stripper and self-confessed virgin. He fancies Nikki, Imogen and Grace but thinks Mikey is vain and self-obsessed. If he won, he would use some of the money to help his disabled father.

Name: Nad
Age: 25
Lives: Bermondsey, London
Job: Picture sales for a celebrity and glamour photo agency
Marital status: Single

Why Big Brother? A family friend found the ticket and passed it over to Nad.

Self-confessed playboy Nad, 25, counts Callum Best, Michelle Marsh and the cast of EastEnders amongst his close circle of friends. He is keen on signing up Lea as a model for the glamour photo agency he works for and is glad Shahbaz has left because, as a Muslim, he finds him 'an insult to his community.'

Name: Graham
Age: 41
From: Bournemouth
Occupation: Breakfast Radio DJ
Marital Status: Married

Why Big Brother? A listener rang his radio station and offered him the ticket for ?150.

Radio DJ Graham feels he has nothing in common with the other contestants - he is teetotal, doesn't smoke and is in a stable relationship. He doesn't care about winning, but wants to go into the house to encourage the housemates to talk rather than bicker.

Name: Ed
Age: 28
From: London
Occupation: Professional gambler and journalist

PUT THE HARDMAN IN!

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 9 June 2006 09:06 (nineteen years ago)

I want the other Wayne to go in. A gayist who has foster kids? That'll rankle the Daily Mail readers! Also he has a cool surname.

ailsa (ailsa), Friday, 9 June 2006 09:10 (nineteen years ago)

Do we get a George replacement as well tonight?

(I find it very doubtful I'll watch much of this until the World Cup ends, but still)

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 9 June 2006 09:12 (nineteen years ago)

just been talked into going to the pub to watch the football (took about 3 seconds) so am going to miss all this tonight. but will catch the repeat tomorrow morning.

Bid for thread 4 title

Big Brother (UK 2006) - So, which of these fuckwits was it then?

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Friday, 9 June 2006 09:29 (nineteen years ago)

Alternatively:
Big Brother (UK 2006) -I've met 25/26 year olds who aren't as compus mentus as me

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Friday, 9 June 2006 09:30 (nineteen years ago)

Big Brother (UK 2006) - I wouldn't wipe my arse with Richard or Lea, I'd rather use toilet paper.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 9 June 2006 09:34 (nineteen years ago)

Big Brother (UK 2006) - "I know how to cook a pasta"

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 9 June 2006 09:34 (nineteen years ago)

Yeah, they're better but none of those will make G-Kit nearly sick every day.

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Friday, 9 June 2006 09:35 (nineteen years ago)

and that's what life's about, amirite?

teh_kit has 21 friends (g-kit), Friday, 9 June 2006 09:39 (nineteen years ago)

Big Brother (UK 2006) - This toast is as dry as my arse!

Onimo (GerryNemo), Friday, 9 June 2006 09:39 (nineteen years ago)

so Pete's been snogging Nikki then?

Ste (Fuzzy), Friday, 9 June 2006 09:40 (nineteen years ago)

Yeah! And Lea is mightily miffed about it. Glyn has now overtaken Pete in my affections. I wasn't letting the hugely Glyn-friendly editing cloud my judgment, but HE SNOGGED NIKKI! GAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

ailsa (ailsa), Friday, 9 June 2006 09:48 (nineteen years ago)

i'd rather snog toilet paper.

teh_kit has 21 friends (g-kit), Friday, 9 June 2006 09:49 (nineteen years ago)

I like when Glyn and Imogen speak Welsh but that's about it for BB this year

Who Are You... The Nerve... I Wanna Get Out, I Wanna Get Out (Dada), Friday, 9 June 2006 09:52 (nineteen years ago)

I'm guessing it'll be Nad or Simon, from those descriptions.

How are they selecting who goes in?

hobart paving (hobart paving), Friday, 9 June 2006 10:16 (nineteen years ago)

Or the one that fancies Richard, because somebody's got to.

hobart paving (hobart paving), Friday, 9 June 2006 10:17 (nineteen years ago)

Surely Danielle? Aspiring model/promotions girl? We need one more of them!

ailsa (ailsa), Friday, 9 June 2006 10:22 (nineteen years ago)

The ticket holders have all been given numbers and the housemates will draw one of them. I really hope it is that random.

suzy (suzy), Friday, 9 June 2006 10:22 (nineteen years ago)

I suppose it'll have to be, but I'm dubious.

I'm sure they'll line up one of the others to replace Dawn/George/Shabhaz/let's just stick one in for the hell of it.

Incidentally, Dawn is my friend's yoga teacher. Or was. She aint doing much yoga teaching now. That's 2 CLAIMS TO FAME. Its nearly as good as I ONCE MET DR ROBERT!!!

Actually, nothing is as good as that.

hobart paving (hobart paving), Friday, 9 June 2006 10:25 (nineteen years ago)

Back up back up! Pete and Nikki?!! More details!!

*runs apace to DS*

Lucretia My Reflection (Lucretia My Reflection), Friday, 9 June 2006 12:35 (nineteen years ago)

yeah after the spin the bottle game they were snogging in the lounge or somewhere, and then cuddled up in bed.

Ste (Fuzzy), Friday, 9 June 2006 12:37 (nineteen years ago)

DS has no mention of this! Only of Glyn snogging Lea in some kissing contest - I JUDGE THAT DS has a pro-benderLea agenda! Gosh! Gosh! I mean - what bought that on? I suppose, even stressed out bee-lovers sometime want a bit of sloppy tongues... oh, but... !!!

Lucretia My Reflection (Lucretia My Reflection), Friday, 9 June 2006 12:59 (nineteen years ago)

nikki is a good drunk!

jed_ (jed), Friday, 9 June 2006 19:28 (nineteen years ago)

53.7% for Sam to go, 46.3% for Nikki. She's obviously not as popular as certain betters would have you believe. Tenner on Nikki to go next week, Nikki vs Richard?

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Friday, 9 June 2006 20:08 (nineteen years ago)

I detect a certain amount of complacency in the voting. I think it totally depends on who is nominated.

suzy (suzy), Friday, 9 June 2006 20:18 (nineteen years ago)

Britain's Obtusest Shepherd (Alan), Friday, 9 June 2006 21:08 (nineteen years ago)

IT'S ANOTHER FUCKING MODEL!!!

http://fbi.arisia-web.co.uk/detail.asp?id=394

-- Dom Passantino (juror...), June 9th, 2006.

Goodness, she didn't look ANYTHING like that when she went into the house. And I'm surprised a model, who you might assume would know what would look good on her, would choose that outfit. And then draw attention to the bloody thing as soon as they entered.

I give her 2 weeks. To follow whoever she nominates this week (reckon she'll go for the popular ones.)

hobart paving (hobart paving), Friday, 9 June 2006 21:33 (nineteen years ago)

to be fair, i don't think she chose the outfit herself.

michael wells (michael w.), Friday, 9 June 2006 21:35 (nineteen years ago)

Didn't she? I thought I heard her say she did, but I was only half-listening.

Well, that's to her credit. Still, 2 weeks. Imogen to go this week?

hobart paving (hobart paving), Friday, 9 June 2006 21:37 (nineteen years ago)

Actually, scratch that, she'll nominate Lea.

hobart paving (hobart paving), Friday, 9 June 2006 21:38 (nineteen years ago)

She did say she chose it, but was winding them up.

Cressida Breem (neruokruokruokne?), Friday, 9 June 2006 22:24 (nineteen years ago)

so they've managed to pick the most boring bastard out of that entire list of asshoppers? fucking hell.

i tried to record the show, but something seems to have fucked up 'cos it hasn't worked. judging by the crippling lack of excitement on this thread, i shouldn't worry too much about watching it tomorrow morning, eh?

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Friday, 9 June 2006 23:29 (nineteen years ago)

Tonight was the first time I've actually watched it (rather than just reading this thread and picking up youtube highlights) since launch night. And yeah, you missed nothing.

JimD (JimD), Friday, 9 June 2006 23:32 (nineteen years ago)

I predict lots of resentment from Lea towards new boobgirl, especially because new boobgirl is confident enough to give her real age.

chap who would dare to be a nerd, not a geek (chap), Saturday, 10 June 2006 00:13 (nineteen years ago)

Nikki trying to get Pete to fuck her was quality. I'm slightly afraid of those two. Nikki is a good drunk. I like how she really overestimated the public's desire to see Sam's willy.

The Ultimate Conclusion (lokar), Saturday, 10 June 2006 02:07 (nineteen years ago)

Because I am sad, and can't sleep, I was reading old Big Brother threads from back in the days of Dean and Brian and Helen and Paul, etc, and I wish it was like it was back then. They read books! They played guitar! They fed chickens and baked their own bread! Now, it's just getting tits out and bitching and waiting for their fifteen minutes when they come out.

ailsa (ailsa), Saturday, 10 June 2006 05:51 (nineteen years ago)

Four out of seven people in the house have had boob jobs. Is that weird? I know two people who've had reductions, but am I just not well-travelled or something?

Also, FOR GOD'S SAKE put a man in for Richard and make him stop talking. (He's doing himself no favours.)

Chuck_Tatum (Chuck_Tatum), Saturday, 10 June 2006 09:36 (nineteen years ago)

Seriously, Try Punching This Guy in the Face and See What Happens (Enrique), Saturday, 10 June 2006 09:41 (nineteen years ago)

It's boring AND HORRIBLE now! That's worse.

ailsa (ailsa), Saturday, 10 June 2006 09:42 (nineteen years ago)

Pete is echoing Bubble a little, no? Starts off as lovable-mental-crazee-etc, gets quieter and quieter as the weeks progress...

Are they allowed books this year?

Chuck_Tatum (Chuck_Tatum), Saturday, 10 June 2006 09:48 (nineteen years ago)

they haven't been aloud books since the second one, i don't think. i'd lose it.

Seriously, Try Punching This Guy in the Face and See What Happens (Enrique), Saturday, 10 June 2006 09:52 (nineteen years ago)

haha, like they can read... < /stereotyping>

ailsa (ailsa), Saturday, 10 June 2006 09:53 (nineteen years ago)

(xpost) i don't think they've been allowed books for a few years now, although be honest: do you really think any of these twats ever read a book? (pete and - maybe - glyn being possible exceptions, although even then ...)

i'm watching the repeat of last night's show; first time i've seen any of this in a week. i'd forgotten how loathsome i find nikki. i really fail to see how she's funny or good value in any way. she's just a vacuous moaning child. yet everybody - even mrs fiendish - seems to think she's lovely. FFS, why?

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Saturday, 10 June 2006 09:54 (nineteen years ago)

Nikki is horrible. That whole "calling Sam a man-beast" thing, and her calling Glyn an imbecile for making toast as dry as her bum-hole (haha, ain't she sweet)...was that even shown on the highlights? I mean, Lea claimed that Shahbaz calling someone an imbecile was the height of rudeness and insultery, but Nikki is lovely therefore allowed to get away with it. Or so says the GBP. I'm with Grimly. She's awful.

ailsa (ailsa), Saturday, 10 June 2006 10:00 (nineteen years ago)

nikki was great value on the live feed last night. doing performances of scenes from her life then, later, going on and on about petes cock in a really drunken and repetitive way. "he's a nice guy, a small guy, but the cock.... the cock is massive." in a really weird eastern european type accent.

jed_ (jed), Saturday, 10 June 2006 10:06 (nineteen years ago)

oh aye: stet said something at work last night about how he knew someone who knew a girl who used to fancy sam when he was at school, or something. but he refuses to post on this thread because it'd be like a tacit admission that he watches the thing ;)

x-post: see, i don't find that kind of thing "great value". i find that really fucking annoying ;)

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Saturday, 10 June 2006 10:08 (nineteen years ago)

I don't think there's much malevolence in Nikki (as opposed to, say Lea), she's just a fussy old queen.

Chuck_Tatum (Chuck_Tatum), Saturday, 10 June 2006 10:08 (nineteen years ago)

Jeez, so that excuses her being downright rude and insulting to and about people? Because in her early 20s she still hasn't learnt any manners or social skills? Aw, bless her, isn't she so sweet? (answer: NO)

tbh people on the last thread (not so much this one) were way nastier & more cuntish than anyone on the show has been. i know it's different but it's not THAT different.

Well, absolutely, but the housemates are generally nice about Nikki, so maybe there's something in that. And Sezer was a lot worse (although that's damning with faint praise, obv).

Nikki being drunk is just like my friend Esther being drunk.

suzy (suzy), Saturday, 10 June 2006 10:26 (nineteen years ago)

but she's not like nikki sober, right? at least, for your sake i hope not :)

actually, she's much more bearable drunk because she's less whiny. although i think this whole thing with pete is about to be REALLY embarrassing.

and at least she admits that she acts like a child, but saying: "i can't help it" is a bit of a cop-out.

i wonder if the whole in-bed-with-pete business was partly to do with hoping the public kept her in? somehow i doubt it: i think she really is far too naive and daft.

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Saturday, 10 June 2006 10:31 (nineteen years ago)

Es drunk is like herding cats, but with shame spirals and Adorno thrown in. They both have the same sort of enunciation/lisp thing going on though. She is highly strung but show me a curator who isn't.

Thread Four: Amazing Grace, How Sweet The Sound Of The Crowd, anyone?

suzy (suzy), Saturday, 10 June 2006 10:45 (nineteen years ago)

and her calling Glyn an imbecile for making toast as dry as her bum-hole (haha, ain't she sweet)...was that even shown on the highlights?

It was shown, and if you'd have seen it instead of read about it you wouldn't pretend to be so outraged by it. It was all completely in good-humour and without malice. It was a joke about being exasperated by Glyn's cack-handed attempts at food preperation - struggling with toast! - and Glyn took it as such.

She is awful though. And impossible. But great, great, funny as fuck TV.

Sam who?

oh, right, they're still talking about it. it's not sinister at all. it was nikki, and they met at an audition. don't quite see why that would need to be shushed; i mean, it's obviously not a secret that suzie auditioned for the show too. or something.

Grace heard the crowd chanting "get Grace out!" and is racking her brains as to why the public might not like her, because she's not two-faced at all. Painful to watch, I actually felt sorry for her - I don't think she realises quite how bitchy and duplicitous she's being.

chap who would dare to be a nerd, not a geek (chap), Sunday, 11 June 2006 14:52 (nineteen years ago)

That's what makes me hate Grace so much more. She'll simply refuse to believe that she did any backstabbing in the house and blame it all on 'the editing'.

This new housemate is zzzzz.

Daily occurrence now but Glyn was on fire in the diary room doing his impression of Suzie and explaining how he's "ticked the box next to kissing a blonde with big ones". And his crying over Sam's exit *surely* must have put him into pole position at the bookies.

I predict Suzie will nominate Lisa (for her pottymouth) and either Grace or Lea. And I won't shed tears over any of them.

David Orton OTM above about Nikki and the toast and the reason why she should stay, but a little part of me thought she deserved to go after the whole 'man-beast' thing.

Are Nikki and Pete a proper actual real-life couple now, or w0t?

Affectian (Affectian), Sunday, 11 June 2006 15:06 (nineteen years ago)

Really? I *did* see it, though wasn't paying full attention, and thought that Nikki was being quite horrible. But I view everything she does through an "I hate Nikki" filter after the whole man-beast/haha Mikey it fancies you, haha things she was saying about Sam, so just ignore me. I still think she is horrible and mean and lacking entirely in social graces. I also, sometimes, think she's making this whole persona up and that she's an actress/mole. She does say and do things sometime that seem removed from her "persona".

ailsa (ailsa), Sunday, 11 June 2006 15:13 (nineteen years ago)

Well yeah, I'm exaggerating. It's not nice to call anyone a man-beast obviously, but to be fair Sam IS a bloke and was a bit full on with the "I'm a girl, just like you!" talk with Nikki. I can completely see why it made her feel uncomfortable. From what I saw, Grace seemed to be the nastiest to Sam (though she's nasty to everyone, right?).

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Sunday, 11 June 2006 19:09 (nineteen years ago)

Endemol have fucked up beyond all recognition now. Letting Grace hear the chants for her to go has basically a) made Suzy an idiot if she nominates anyone else b) ensured that Grace knows that she'll go when nominated, thus she'll walk as soon as nominated. Dreadful.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Sunday, 11 June 2006 19:11 (nineteen years ago)

B-but, wouldn't that still make *fantastic* TV?

Lara (Lara), Sunday, 11 June 2006 19:14 (nineteen years ago)

Yeah, but Endemol _need_ Grace to stay in and bring them DOLLARS when it comes to eviction night. Plus Grace's story arc can run for at least three more weeks, getting her out now would be teh dumb.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Sunday, 11 June 2006 19:15 (nineteen years ago)

And Suzy Verucca Salt is fantastically dull.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Sunday, 11 June 2006 19:16 (nineteen years ago)

but it's all a bit unorthodox, innit? letting grace hear the actual chants, rather than playing fake crowd noise into the house?

i thought the whole point was that the housemates were meant to be isolated from the outside world; hence suzie not being allowed to tell them anything? i mean, she might as well have been allowed to go in and say: "yo, grace, the GBP thinks you're a cunt."

either endemol are spinning against grace in a bid to create some interest in what feels to me like a desperately flagging show (esp now it's up against two months of idiocy involving grass and a little white sphere) OR it's a good old-fashioned cock-up. sadly, i think the latter is more likely.

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Sunday, 11 June 2006 19:18 (nineteen years ago)

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Sunday, 11 June 2006 19:21 (nineteen years ago)

I'm pretty sure people weren't shouting GET RICHARD OUT. I didn't hear anything like that and I've not noticed any big Richard-hate out in the big bad world (this thread not included).

Endemol have their work cut out trying to keep Grace from leaving but I'm truly enjoying watching Grace topple from her bullying/backstabbing head-girl tower and suffer like she's never suffered before. Didn't this happen in a previous BB (ie. letting the housemates hear anti-someone chanting)?

Affectian (Affectian), Sunday, 11 June 2006 19:30 (nineteen years ago)

ailsa (ailsa), Sunday, 11 June 2006 19:31 (nineteen years ago)

i'm beginning to really, REALLY dislike grace here. i mean, she's so fucking stupid she can't even work out WHY people might think she's a knob. the other HMs not understanding kinda makes sense; they won't know the extent of her backstabbing and bitching. but surely she's got the mental capacity to stop and think, aaah, hang on, MAYBE IT'S BECAUSE I'M SUCH A SMUG, BITCHY CONTROL-FREAK BULLY?

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Sunday, 11 June 2006 19:53 (nineteen years ago)

dom (re grace staying in): yeh, but it's the same conundrum RJG pointed out about sezer, innit? you want to get them out at the height of the hating, so they maybe - just maybe - think, ah, right, hang on, perhaps i should subtly alter my approach to life and not be a cock?

keeping her in for another couple of weeks and THEN chucking her to the wolves could be even more joyous ... but what if she undergoes a personality transplant in the mean time?

[thinks]

naah. not gonna happen, is it?

the best outcome would be if suzie doesn't nominate grace. she'll be pathetically relieved and will go into bitch overdrive, thus keeping the show marginally watchable and hopefully pissing off enough of the remaining HMs that they boil her alive for dinner put her up in a "fair" eviction in two or three weeks' time.

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Sunday, 11 June 2006 20:00 (nineteen years ago)

See Grace as Makosi and Sezer as Maxwell. There are different approaches towards getting rid of people who need to be gotten rid off, and really, when there's so much expendable waste in the house, it seems stupid to kill off people who still have a, yes, story arc.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Sunday, 11 June 2006 20:04 (nineteen years ago)

if channel 4 don't want grace out they will simply tell suzie not to nominate her. since it seems to be all a fix that she is even in the house in the first place (there's no doubt in my mind that this is the case) i don't think it's too much of a stretch that they will ask her to refrain from nominating grace.

jed_ (jed), Sunday, 11 June 2006 20:17 (nineteen years ago)

Grace isn't that bad, is she? I'm not dying to see her humiliated like Sezer, anyway. Surely if she's succeeded in manipulatng someone, they must've been a gullible twatwit already?

yes, i think i agree with this.

Grace isn't that bad, is she?

yes. she's an appallingly smug, spoiled little rich girl who's elbowed her way through life while wanting for absolutely nothing. she has no self-awareness at all; i mean, i think nikki's a chump but, as i pointed out upthread, at least she realises her flaws, and might one day get round to doing something about them.

sure, nobody's perfect. but grace is genuinely just ... unpleasant. and bitchy.

as someone else pointed out, though: sezer was a million times worse.

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Sunday, 11 June 2006 20:27 (nineteen years ago)

Gracv elbowed her way through life while wanting for absolutely nothing

I think this might be a somewhat presumptuous statement! (If potentially true...)

Chuck_Tatum (Chuck_Tatum), Sunday, 11 June 2006 20:30 (nineteen years ago)

I dunno about Sezer being worse than Grace; Sezer may as well have had "TWATFUCK" written on his head from the first time you saw him, but Grace's unpleasantness is subtler and more insidious. If I were in the house, I might not like her terribly, but i don't think I'd suspect quite what a bitch she is.

jed_ (jed), Sunday, 11 June 2006 23:37 (nineteen years ago)

Because I am sad, and can't sleep, I was reading old Big Brother threads from back in the days of Dean and Brian and Helen and Paul, etc, and I wish it was like it was back then. They read books! They played guitar! They fed chickens and baked their own bread! Now, it's just getting tits out and bitching and waiting for their fifteen minutes when they come out.

Australia's one is still like this, and it's ridiculously boring. So much so that half the country has moved across to the UK one.

Hotman Paris Almanac (Autumn Almanac), Monday, 12 June 2006 02:33 (nineteen years ago)

In fact, just so you all realise how much worse it is than the UK this year [and because this thread's about to be abandoned anyway], here's a very very quick and unobtrusive summary of what's happened in the Australian show in six weeks:

- 15-odd HMs go in, three of which are remotely interesting
- The three remotely interesting HMs are voted out
- Remaining HMs sit around doing nothing, and refuse to drink or argue or cry or be interesting in any way [apart from shagging each other loads, which isn't interesting when they're happy and content doing it]

The UK had more drama in its first two days than we've had all year, and I mean that without a trace of hyperbole.

The host trashed an entire 90-minute special one night, though. That was entertaining.

Hotman Paris Almanac (Autumn Almanac), Monday, 12 June 2006 02:55 (nineteen years ago)

I tuned in for the show last night for the first time in ages (like many others, I find this thread a fine substitue to actually watching the programme) and was startled and rather unsettled by Lea's behavious with Pete. When did this madness start? Does anyone else think she's bonkers and utterly without dignity?

Last night's perfect example:

Lea (caressing Pete's head and face and making big eyes at him): You get some sleep now, Petey babes...
Pete(shoved up against the wall, quaking in terror): I'm trying...

yeah it's all a bit disturbing, how she went on and on about how much she missed pete when she was having the dinner outside.

enjoyed watching last night though, had a great shout at the telly!

Grace really doesn't seem to get it does she. Telling people not to eat the chocolates that Suzie offered them, dear god that was the height of playground dickishness. How quickly Grace forgot about wondering what reasons the public have to loathe her.

I want Lisa out next, she's not providing me any amusement she's just an insufferable c**t who likes to bitch seemingly to impress team grace.

Ste (Fuzzy), Monday, 12 June 2006 08:36 (nineteen years ago)

She's the mother figure or thinks she is and this is her idea of mothering presumably thinking this will look good to the great voting public . Then all the women (well not all of them, most of them) ran in to see what was happening and "show concern". First thing Lisa says "did anyone say anything bad about me?" (I'm paraphrasing here). Get over yourself!

Hotman Paris Almanac (Autumn Almanac), Monday, 12 June 2006 09:01 (nineteen years ago)

I haven't seen much of BB this w/end. I'm pretty bored by it and the World Cup is taking up all my TV time. But...
I don't like the new girl much.
I'm not feeling the Grace hate. She isn't very likeable but she doesn't really offend me all that much. I couldn't care less about her, really, and I'm wondering why others do. Perhaps I'd be more gripped by BB if I did feel something.
As I've said before Lea makes my skin crawl. She's just so leechy and smothering and self-centred and foul [mouthed]. I hate how her attitude is all "I speak my mind me, I dunt give a fook" and yet she huddles in corners whispering to anyone who'll listen about how vile Richard is being.
Based on nothing whatever I quite like Mikey now.
Nikki has a good vocabulary and her use of words is majestic.

Richard and Lea are both leechy drama-chasers and I like them less than Grace, who has good reason for having no idea she's seen as Heather Number One (pragmatically speaking, they're all stirring and most are louder bitches). Also, the editing is over days and girls in groups say the most horrible things about a girl one day and then sort it out the next.

I wonder if Golden Housemate's husband is originally from Bearsden and the son of a really crap but wealthy Scottish architect.

It probably Glyn or Pete to win. Although apart from the weirdness with Lea on Sat night (Which looked like the most scarily Oedipal relationship I've ever seen - to be fair to Pete, he did look like he wanted to gnaw his way through the wall to escape) Endemol appear to keep Pete's coverage down - presumably waiting for the inevitable Grace meltdown or maybe to improve Glyn's odds.

I'm finding my urge to mother Glyn a little distracting. Every time he opens his mouth to say something sweet all I want to say is "Ahhh!"

I disagree that Grace = Makosi for this series - except in the GBP's hatred stakes. Makosi knew exactly what she was up to - most of it being at the instigation of BB itself - and took a certain amount of mischievous glee in what she was doing, I think Grace does what she does out of a combination of insecurity and snobbishness. (ie "I'm the best and I'm in charge and anyone who doesn't agree with that is a threat to me") And as could be seen from her diary room performance she has no self awareness whatsoever and the thought that her actions might be considered in any way questionable by a semi -objective observer hasn't occurred to her and probably never would.

you'd think it was a game show or something. dom otm, endemol = idiots for letting the chanting thing happen.

If the Golden Housemate has any sense, she won't nominate Grace. She knows Grace is sure to be voted out whoever she's up against, so she can leave her be for a bit. It's like the Weakest Link, see? You vote out people who might rival you. She could nominate Glyn and Pete, but then the GBP would hate her, so any of the others would do instead. Thing is, when is she going to find out she's the only one nominating? After she's done it, I reckon.

Grace breaking her heart in the diary room was pretty awful. All those gulpy sobs! I reckon she knows exactly why the crowd were chanting, but she won't have any defence if she admits it. If she deliberately remains in denial, though, she can do the contrite "I didn't realise" or the vengeful "it's how they edit it" when she comes out. She's not going to get in Zoo or Nuts with her pancakes, though, is she?

By contrast Nikki regularly drinks sulphuric acid.

I think she realises she must be seen as a privileged snob on voice alone but if she says so there's going to be an undercurrent of 'they're just jealous' which would be even more unattractive. Living in BB House is the very definition of insecurity. I didn't get to see her last night but the more time you spend thinking out loud why nobody likes you, the worse it becomes, whether the reasons you are elucidating are the same as the consensus or not, or even worthwhile reasons at all. OTOH she's not so big a bully that she needs to get bullied by the entire GBP in return.

Yeah Grace's eviction is a done deal. I'd say that part of her reason for that display in the diary room was exactly because she knows this. If Suzie's smart enough to realise this, I like her more than I do already. (It's got to be the speaking voice, 'cos the basketballs she's got badly welded to her chest are very offputting. Her and Lea in the same room is the stuff of Freudian nightmares)

The one who I'm really warming to is Aislyne (or however you spell it) She actually seems to be a nice person. Lea thinks she's in there to disprove the "Blonde, big fake tits" stereotype, but Aislyne might be doing more "good" in that respect.
