Taking sides: roundish men vs. skinny men

Obviously, you only really care about the person inside, but what if there a lot of layers to get through?

C'mon. Give me it straight!

Finely toned perfection is not on offer.

Nick, Thursday, 19 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I like men who are short and have that little pooch.

anthony, Thursday, 19 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Skinny men, definitely, because I am mere slip of a thing and if I'm attracted to someone I start thinking LOGISTICS.

suzy, Thursday, 19 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I am sick, and I am a bad person and I know it, but I really am attracted to the 99lb weaking look over just about any other. I know that this just isn't right considering how round and layered I am, but the boys I really love are the ones that are so skinny they really look ill. They just have that "take me home and make me a hot meal" look about them that I find so attractive.

Of course, then I *do* take them home and feed them loads of hot meals, and then they're not so skinny any more, which kind of defeats the point.

I would, however, rather have a round man than one of those muscle-bound horrors. Muscles and the whole "I can't put my arms down cause my neck is the size of a bull's" look really disgust me. I like unhealthy looking men.

masonic boom, Thursday, 19 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Skinny please. There is something horribly lethargic and greedy- looking about fat men. I often fall for bigger women though.

chris, Thursday, 19 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

This is basically why I don't like indie music. Once I got the nous to be aware of such things I realised that the collective indie community has a massive skinny guy thing, which I will never be. I am shallow, alas.

Though in fact I've only ever met one woman who's expressed a preference for 'roundish' men. Luckily for me I'm going out with her.

Tom, Thursday, 19 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

My sister - married to THE VERY SPIT of Robbie Coltrane - is also a self-confessed Chubby Chaser.

stevie t, Thursday, 19 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Well, it was skinny, small men til I realized I actually liked being around a guy that made me feel small and thin instead of like the 800lb woman. So it's not a preference for roundish men, maybe more built men? I don't know, because I'm not talking musclebound meatballs either. I have no clue.

Ally, Thursday, 19 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I used to be a skinny man with a big arse and short legs and am now a roundish man with a big arse and short legs. I don't mind this too much, except that no clothes ever fit me. Despite this I go for thin men who I automatically assume would never fancy me given my roundness. Which only serves to further complicate my already complex pull-failure problems.

Richard Tunnicliffe, Thursday, 19 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Skinny men with a little pooch, Anthony? Like a poodle or something?

I had a friend who said she liked men whose hip bones fit in between hers i.e. skinny men. I cannot get this skinny man thing. I mean if I go out with a skinny man a) I might break him and b) when we are together he will make me look fatter. And c) when we are, ahem, at it, his boney bones will stick in me and it will hurt in a bad way.

But I'm not really into fat men either. Maybe this great pickiness explains my singleness.

Emma, Thursday, 19 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

This is totally the problem with uh roundness anyway. Most - not all - round people want to be less so, i.e. roundness for themselves is not a positive value so when they meet someone who does fancy them that's great but on the other hand they disagree with them about a quite fundamental thing. See also 'attractions' thread and 'self- esteem' thread I suppose. (I am particularly schizoid on this because I fancy big women but have difficulty believing that women can fancy big men but then get annoyed when big women have this exact same attitude etc. etc. Tarden I take it all back you can generalise and the world is fucked. Also what was that I said about not having low self-esteem curse curse.)

Tom, Thursday, 19 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Me and the incredibly skinny to the point of unhealthiness man that I date *both* seem to have the same problem with physical self esteem- he can't *believe* that I actually find his body attractive to the point of fetishisation. (I don't actually believe at *all* that he really finds me physically attractive at all.) Overly thin men often have the same body image crisis that overly fat women have, as they've been fed this image of the buff, muscled Fabio lookalikes getting the girls. It's a strange thing.

masonic boom, Thursday, 19 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Fetishisation? Crumbs.

But anyway... I used to be very round, and now I'm very skinny. I used to get abuse for being very round, and now I get abuse for being very skinny. My secretary today, seeing my coughing and wheezing and trying to make my trousers fit me properly immediately declared I need to eat red meat and chips. Hmmmm.

So there's no ideal! I would point out, though, that if you become too skinny you have problems with hipbones and bruising. I'm not saying anymore...!

Curiously, I often wear clothes to emphasise the fact that I'm skinny. Anyone who's seen me in tight flares and skinny fit shirts will know what I mean.

Paul Strange, Thursday, 19 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I have only ever dated one "skinny guy" and I always felt that our joints and bones would bang into eachother in an very unpleasant way. I have dated a few pretty large men, but on the whole I have always liked someone who was just about my height, just about my weight, and just about as soft as me.

So three cheers for the "roundish" man!

marianna maclean, Thursday, 19 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Men can easily get away with fatness more than women. Admit it, in the USA at least, women want "a nice guy" and men want "a nice ass". At least among most folk. Men will tolerate bitchness for sex reward but women will less often. THus, men are dumber and more shallow but also less prone to feeling like a they are too fat for love. AM I right here? ATTACK ME!

Mike Hanle y, Thursday, 19 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Mik 'e' H is correct, at least in some of what he says.

I used to be skinny, but not any more.

the pinefox, Thursday, 19 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Paul, I don't really think that being told to eat red meat and chips counts as abuse (even if you are a veggie!). Maybe your secretary wants to take you home and give you a hot meal.....

Emma, Thursday, 19 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Yeah, even feeding me meat doesn't count as abuse! I am vegetarian though, so I'm not going to go for red meat...

Once dated someone as skinny as I. We were like two beanpoles. And sex just resulted in bones banging together, bruises, and so on.

Paul Strange, Thursday, 19 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Paul we don't want to hear of your odd erection bashing contests. Can't you just give head like normal people!

Mike Hanle y, Thursday, 19 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

As said before, like Mary Poppins, I am practically perfect in every way, not fat not skinny, just right. Although I could proabably loose the minor eunuch handles.

Ed, Thursday, 19 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

honey, i could give you nothing straight; as to the q, both are equally fun to hold the ears of.

Geoff, Thursday, 19 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

When younger, I invariably would have a thing for the tallest, skinniest guy I knew. I wasn't even aware of it at first, but then when I looked back and took stock, I was surprised. Odd part is, that I've actually dated barely any at all like that. Most of my boyfriends have been under 5'8 and over 175 pounds. Luckily I'm shortish at 5'4 and also have never weighed under 120 since seventh grade - so it's been a good fit. There was only one guy who fit the tall bill, built strongly enough to carry me around too (which totally kicked ass) mmmmmm.... but I'm engaged to a 5'7 and rounded cutie now, so I don't talk about that other guy anymore.

Kim, Thursday, 19 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Rounded or round?

Mike Hanle y, Thursday, 19 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

No a little love puch, a buddha belly , a front porch not a front veranda.

anthony, Thursday, 19 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I like a man to have a certain breadth in the shoulders, and if it comes with a certain breadth in the bum, so be it. The most succulent beef[cake] has a good amount of marbling.

Of course, I totally understand the comments about 1) skinny guys appearing a little fragile and 2) big girls (and by implication, boys) assuming that no one could ever find them attractive.

J-Lu, Thursday, 19 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Appearing fragile? We *are* fragile!!! I was once blown over on the Cowley Road by a big gust of wind. Very embarrassing!

Oh, and the two skinny people was me and a girl... the hip-clashing probably wouldn't be as much of an issue if it was me and a boy. Or me and a more sexually adventurous girl... Or a girl and a more sexually adventurous me. Hmmmm...!

Paul Strange, Thursday, 19 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

There are ways of getting around the hip-clashing thing with skinny boys. I mean... whoever invented the missionary position was clearly a sadist. Why risk your hips when you've got two huge pillows on the other side just clearly designed for bearing weight?

OK, that was more than ANY of you wanted to know...

Kate the Saint, Thursday, 19 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

re: tom and indie skinny-boy-bias; hiphop is the most varied-body-type-accepting musical genre of the past twenty-five years, recognize. i can't imagine missy elliot being a sex object if she were doing emo or something. also whenever a music crit makes a joke about biggie's, um, bigness, they are only showing off their incredible overwhelming WACKNESS because 1) nobody gives a fuck and 2) he referenced it in his own fucking name so lay the fuck off.

ethan, Thursday, 19 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

*is with a roudish man and finds him incredibly sexy* He's got the cutest butt! :)

Danielle, Thursday, 19 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I am skinny (6 foot and 11 stone), but my stomach is expanding (put on about a stone and a half in the last 2 years), can't get into my waist 32" jeans anymore...I'd rather not be skinny.

james e l, Thursday, 19 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Ethan's point = brilliant and interesting. (Tho soul down the years has surely been fairly wide-ranging in body type?) Af-Am orthodoxy in tastes = both With *and* Against White Social Norms? viz also Caribbean man-thing for VERY FAT WOMEN INDEED (viz article I read in Marie Claire abt not-fat women scoffing chicken hormones to balloon up...)

mark s, Thursday, 19 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

soul and disco were really welcoming about body types as well (that's why i said 'of the the last twenty-five years'). strangely, dance is a total asshole about this sort of thing, cf. c+c music factory replacing badass fat chick sample sources with skinny models in video. dance is cruel to women anyway, it sucks. where are the plump idm-nerd girls? blues also good for this, mainly because artists had no visual representation. i don't really think it's a 'white' thing though, more thoughts on this later.

ethan, Thursday, 19 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Megamegawhitething...uh, sorry, thought it was 1996.

Skinny-framed family, currently the heaviest of the lot, though not horribly so (I hope!). One of those things I can beat into shape if I diet right, as I've done it before, but I like food too much. Whenever I worry about my waist, I consider some of the folks I see around the campus here and stop fretting. I also sing the utterly brilliant song by Ashtray Boy "Paunch" to myself, as should you all. ;-)

Anyway, *I* hold myself well, Jane also frets a bit on her end but *she* holds herself very well indeed, so screw everyone else, we're happy. ;-)

Ned Raggett, Thursday, 19 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

where are the plump idm-nerd girls?

I dunno. If you find any let me know

m jemmeson, Thursday, 19 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I'm pretty much only into skinny guys.

Sean, Thursday, 19 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I'm a plump IDM-nerd girl.

Anyway, skinny men are my thing. Those fragile-looking men have a way of carrying themselves that just kills me. Tall is not required...above 5'5" is fine. I've never been attracted to someone who's not terribly skinny. After that we get into all my face issues.
The fact that I'm always 40-60 lbs. heavier than the men I like is probably not good.
Have yet to find a skinny guy (much less any guy) that fancies me.

I would like to take this moment to say that Jonny Greenwood is perfect in every respect again. This includes personality.

Melissa W, Thursday, 19 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

i think i started something with the plump idm-nerd girls comment, and i could not be happier for it.

ethan, Thursday, 19 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Fragile means you will break them if you start doing soemthign really interesting. I want robust !

anthony, Friday, 20 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

As a roundish guy of 26 (five-ten, 210 lb, large belly) I've been fairly lucky--the woman I'm with right now, and the woman before her, are both shamelessly attracted to guys with buddhas. (that last is currently with a guy who's almost exactly like me both physically and personality-wise--except he's about a thousand times nicer a person.) But even when I weighed 145 lb. when I was 19 (true!), I still had a belly and a complex about it. Men's body issues aren't commented on very much but they're quite real. Still, I have a hard time taking it personally when someone on this list likes skinny tall guys--it's not an affront, it's a preference. For instance, I like short, pear- shaped girls more than any other kind; my current squeeze is tall and has lovely hips but they're hardly axe-handle-width the way I like. And I'm hardly complaining about it.

Michaelangelo Matos, Friday, 20 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

i've always been skinny, it doesn't look like thats going to change any time soon either

gareth, Friday, 20 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I am skinny (6 foot and 11 stone)

Pah - you fatty amateur! I'm 6 foot and 8 and a half stone (that's 120 pounds, US kids). Beat that!

Nick, Friday, 20 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

And Nick has the cheek to call the rest of us freaks! Maybe we should split between physical and emotional freaks ;)

Emma, Friday, 20 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I am 5'2" and last time I weighed myself the scales said 15 stone. In retrospect I think they might have been bust because I am not that fat....

Pete, Friday, 20 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

No comment, Pete. And I am not telling you how much I weigh as a true lady never reveals her weight on the interweb. But I am 5'5".

Emma, Friday, 20 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Yes, Emma. I think that would be a very good idea indeed. I have always longed for a career in circus. And who wants to see a bunch of emotional freaks riding unicycles? Not me.

As a side issue, I like the idea of all these so-called skinnyboy-lovers averting their eyes and blubbing 'No - that's TOO SKINNY'. Pete, perhaps you hadn't noticed you had a tube train stuck to your arse?

Nick, Friday, 20 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I am 6' 5" and I think I weigh like 245. I am pretty fatty, but keepin g lean sucks. WHo can give up ice cream?

Mike Hanle y, Friday, 20 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I am not a lady and I would gladly tell my weight on the interweb except... erm... I don't actually know it. I haven't been near a scale since I was in hospital, and they told me in kilograms and I didn't understand it at all. Plus I've put on a bit since them. (Inactivity, curse you!)

I like the idea of all these so-called skinnyboy-lovers averting their eyes and blubbing 'No - that's TOO SKINNY'.

I have never in my life said that any boy was too skinny. (I mean, Posh Spice? Yes, too skinny. But boys? No.) Oh wait, no, maybe once, it was a quite early picture of Vini Rielly (sp?) from Durutti Column and I could actually see the veins in his arms he was so thin. That was a bit disturbing.

Kate the Saint, Friday, 20 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I was going to say - Vini Reilly (recently too - on that Carol Morley film) beats me into a cocked hat.

Nick, Friday, 20 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I like skinny boys with quite broad shoulders and I *love* veiny arms. Veiny arms don't always go hand-in-hand with skinnyness though, sometimes they're just closer to the surface than on other people and when the, er, blood gets pumping they stand out even more.

Madchen, Friday, 20 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I weigh 135lbs. I have no fear of telling you all this because I am not a lady, NOR AM I A TART MIKE.

Ally, Friday, 20 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Has anyone ever accused you of being a tart Mike, Ally?

(That was funnier before I typed it. Wah.)

Dan Perry, Friday, 20 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Yes they have. All the time.

Ally, Friday, 20 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

but what about veiny legs? do guys go crazy for that vericose veins look or what? if so i'm going to be a hot momma when i'm 60.

marianna maclean, Friday, 20 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I'm six foot 3 and weigh 15 and a half stone. I've recently lost weight which has pleased me no end, but I'll never get back to my weight when I left college.... 10 and a half stone. I was the skinniest thing back then.

cabbage, Friday, 20 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I'm afraid, marianna, that no wider conclusions at all should be drawn from Madchen's peculiar fetishes.

Nick, Friday, 20 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I thought we cleared this up...I'm the King Tart.

Mike Hanle y, Friday, 20 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Veins are fine if there is a bit of flesh around them from which they can stand out... that is what I commonly refer to as "sinewy" and this is a good thing.

However, when someone is so skinny that there is vein lying against bone and no flesh at all, no matter how scrawny or sinewy, that's where I draw the line. That's where the junkie dronerock boy stops being attractive.

Speaking of which, Mr Jason S is looking a bit rough in those new photies in the latest NME. Oh dear. Even though he is very dirty (a good thing) he's starting to look a bit like a tramp. At least age has treated Mr. Boom a bit more kindly...

Kate the Saint, Friday, 20 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

But Nick, I did say I'd rather not be skinny...so more cake for me.

james e l, Friday, 20 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

i'm noticing a disturbing trend away from discussing plump IDM-nerd girls in this thread and demand it be corrected at once.

ethan, Friday, 20 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Hear, hear

Josh, Friday, 20 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

That's because everyone acknowledges that, clearly, the world needs more plump IDM-nerd girls... right ?

Patrick, Friday, 20 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

IDM ?

Mike Hanle y, Friday, 20 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Idiosyncratic Doompatrol Mavens

Nicole, Friday, 20 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

So... why do plump IDM nerd girls go out with dirty dronerock guys?

Kate the Saint, Friday, 20 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

So I can lust after both halves of the couple?

Richard Tunnicliffe, Friday, 20 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Oh, just go to http://www.nekkidnerds.com and satiate this need for IDM chickies. Or head over to the Stile Project's Cam Portal to see such gals BROWSE THE INTERWEB. (Not that I've been there all that often - hrm.)

David Raposa, Friday, 20 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

leave it to dave motherfucking popshots to besmirch my entirely clean desire for plump idm-nerd girl discussion. report to the misogyny thread at once.

it's funny you always complain about porn being not centered to your own attractions and quirks and then how terribly boring it is whenever someone tries to make it be. indie/nerd porn is a massive dud, and just wrong. what's the point of having evil objectifying pornography of attainable women? it's like window shopping in rich white asshole stores for stuff sitting in your living room.

ethan, Friday, 20 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

i sometimes find roundish men attractive. but men i am most attracted to tend to be short, skinny and dark-haired. how predictable! it depends on his charm though really, and there are so many different kinds of charm that can make a man attractive. mischievous charm, shy charm, arrogant charm, sweet charm, dirty charm, innocent charm etc etc etc.

i'm not saying its all in the personality though, cos quite frankly i have never seen a beefcake or a blond that i would shag.

i think that i like short skinny men cos it makes me feel tough when i can wrestle them and win! sometimes THEY don't like that though. as for men that i can't win a wrestle with, that has its benefits too.

i think i just like a bit of variation.

lady die, Sunday, 22 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Oh my God! How could I have missed this thread! Fat guys rock my world!

I like a man who has some neck under his head. I like a man whose ass cheeks shift in his khakis like Swiss clockwork as they walk in front of you. I like a man with more to hug.

Chunky + balding = EVEN BETTER.

Michael Daddino, Friday, 3 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

My boyfriend noted: "Every boy you like always has really bad posture." I love skinny boys, but not exclusively by any means. Lankiness is a beautiful thing, tall and scrawny and better yet if they have enormous soft hands and big pale feet that look like they have been carved from ivory soap. Also I like long haired boys. I like when you can see a boy's blue veins in his arms. I love freckles! I love my boyfriend's torso, it has an indentation at the base of his ribcage that is like a little bowl. I love when boys have big eyes & eyelids. I also like those healthy looking, semi-muscular boys but only if they are friendly-looking. By this I mean they smile & are not obvious mook-types. The best thing on anyone is their smile.

1 1 2 3 5, Saturday, 4 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

skinny.

i have actually never met an idm-nerd girl, whatever her body type. maybe that was your point.

i suppose this is as good time as any to ask straight women (and gay men): what the hell do you see? men generally strike me as utterly drab and physically unappealing.

sundar subramanian, Saturday, 4 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

My boyfriend noted: "Every boy you like always has really bad posture."

I like rather bad posture as well. Kind of slouchy and shy looking.

Melissa W, Saturday, 4 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I am a fatty and no-one fancies me. *Sob*

DG, Saturday, 4 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I like the fat broades. They got more movement in bed. I was fucking this one bitch the other week, and she was all, stick it in my ass. So I obliged and let me tell you, I came like a jack rabbit. Now I see wasup with all those fags. I got me one of thouse big cucumbers and greased it all up and stuck it up my own ass and "Yee-ouch!" I guess it take some gettin used to though. Cause after the 4th time I did it, it got easier. I know I'm not gay, but any you gay guys in the Brooklyn area, maybe we can talk. Ya-now.

anthony, Thursday, 16 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I would just like to state for the sake of SCIENCE that at a coffeeshop the other day I was served by a plump IDM-nerd girl. Unfortunately the shop is an hour's walk from my home.

Josh, Thursday, 16 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

You know, for some reason comedy lurid posts don't bother me at all. Though I'll never eat cucumbers again.

Ally, Thursday, 16 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

five months pass...
I love chubby men, im talking 250 - 300lbs. I think its a real cute look becuase most men of that weight are usually short at the same time. They are really nice to cuddle and you can actually feel warm and cosy, i think its nice :) I don't mean to whinge but living in a society where 'fat' people are disrespected isn't good for me or the chubby guys.. people need to be more accepting about things in society. especially gay people. straight people cant stand gay people. i think they have some kind of beef with them. anywho i could go talking about those 2 subjects all day but i dont want to bore you all!

Derick, Thursday, 24 January 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

two months pass...
You people are the people who make this world a hard place to live in. Why is it that everyone always assumes things or does things based on peoples looks/race/etc..? I mean come on.... does it really matter what anyone looks like? I don't think I would put up with a "hot bitch" just to get some action (lol). So, even though I'm a guy, my answer to the question is just two simple words... WHO CARES Get back to your pathetic lives and stop worrying about other peoples.

I'm a 19 year-old-guy that it 5'11 and I weighs 110 pounds... the thing is I WANT TO gain weight. Tiny appetite mixed with hyperdrive metabolism is not a good combo :( I don't even have a medical condition a la Abraham Lincoln or anything like that. It sucks! lol

Mike, Monday, 22 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

It sucks to discover that only thinnies and fatties are attractive to the ILE massive - I'm 6 foot and about (translates into American) 178 pounds, which at the moment is maybe a little much, but just about right. Does this make me a freak?

Historically I've always gone for the slightly larger rather than slightly smaller girl, but then a) there are more of them about and b) anyone who gets involved with me has to contend with putting on at least a stone as I always make them eat.

My fetish for tall girls will not cease until I have snogged someone taller than me. So, any cute ILE laydeez, 6 foot 1 or above, with altruistic tendencies and a certain moral laxity want to help me out?

Mark C, Tuesday, 23 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

okay im a big nerd girl and yet I do not know or get what Idiosyncratic Doompatrol Mavens is explain to this in the dark, under the covers in the closet stuck at home woman, ...Please.?!!

And i prefer skinny men NOW, only after having had sex with one after years of dating and liking heavy men. I now finally see the attractiveness of very thin men, boney even.

ethan, Sunday, 28 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

hiphop is the most varied-body-type-accepting musical genre of the past twenty-five years, recognize.
Then why did Missy experience a lot of criticism from label owners? She said a lot of'em advised her to lose weight. And why is she pushed forward as proof that she could do it. That to me implies weight is important (even in Hip Hop). I dunno, I could be wrong but I don't see much more variety. Maybe I need glasses.

Rik Waller.....

ethan, Sunday, 28 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Yeah well if you want a strict definition then how many fucking superstars are there anyway? I mean law of fucking averages and all that.

I love tall, skinny, nerdish/indietype men. The problem is that the only men who ever give me a second glance are short, all-American types. I hate short, all-American types. And it gets even worse--I tend to attract born-again Christians, too.

Christine "Green Leafy Dragon" Indigo, Sunday, 28 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Enough of this weighty bullshit. I demand we turn this thread into taking sides: Good-looking men your age of any size who apparently suffer from multiple personality disorder versus Good-looking men of any size who are way too old for you and could never work out.

Ally, Sunday, 28 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Well, I ended up with the latter, and we've been together for eight years now.

Christine "Green Leafy Dragon" Indigo, Monday, 29 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Aw, sweet. :-)

Ned Raggett, Monday, 29 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Ethan, you keep mentioning Missy. Give me ten more examples in the genre and I'll say you're right. ;-)

nathalie, Monday, 29 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

you'd only just get 10 famous women of any size from hip hop. if you include 'Nu soul' then you could count the lovely Angie Stone, but she's nowhere near as famous as Missy

michael, Monday, 29 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

as a skinny guy (6'2" 125lbs) I find I'm attracted to women with the same body type I have. (enourmous breasts do nothing for me.)

The problem is that those women aren't typically attracted to me. I've been compared to Christopher Walken, and Tony Hawk, luckily 2 people I admire very much, but don't try to emulate.

What I hate about my body type is everyone thinking I'm weak and fragile. People are always suprised when I lift something, or carry something much larger than they thought I could handle. Also, people always think I'm a damned tweaker, or heroin addict.

and then there are those people always trying to feed me..."you need to eat more" or " don't you EVER eat?" God I really hate that.

Well this has been my rant at physical inequality. thank you for paying attention to it.

8============================D, Friday, 21 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I am a gay male, 6'2 not "round" nor do I like "round" males, but a very trim, not "twig"style frame. But I like tall skinny men. I don't know why but I love the thin men. This may stem from the fact that I was once anorexic at one time. So at work, there is this married man, who is tall and very skinny, but I love him. And I know he is a bisexual. The other day I wrapped my arms around his waist, (which he loved), and I just about fucken came, just by feeling that waist. So fuck what you heard, tall skinny men you are just as fucken sexy as any muscular Adonis!! Funny thing is this: You would never suspect me to loving skinny men. If you could see how cute I really am!!

F.J. DIAZ, Friday, 21 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Roundish men. Skinny anything is yuk, except for alleycats 'coz otherwise they're not alleycats.

toraneko, Friday, 21 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I am a fairly short skinny guy...Im 5 feet 6inches. Its funny. Several others have complimented me on my looks, but I still remain the ultimate nerd! Girls dont want a skinny guy like me, Im just too damn short I suppose. I always got snubbed as my taller friends get all the dates, so I pretty much learned to accept it. What else can I do? Tall, short or medium....I just wish someone would see the real me.

i like really skinny men coz it makes me feel in charge. also they are less likely to have that macho bulls*it. the ex- i love dthe most was really very skinny. only problem his hands were too tiny as well. NOt his knob (nice surprose actually), but his hands were way smaller than mine. I have the feeling that turned him on, but not me!. Overall, definitely skinny men. wow

celine, Friday, 14 February 2003 05:17 (twenty-three years ago)

*chuckling* I like the more stocky men for the same reason, Celine - it's a power trip for me to see a man larger than myself groveling at my feet and all. But, really, I don't think that I have a preference in male body types - healthy and clean and intelligent and charming and submissive and I am in lust.

That's the only body-type that I have an aversion to, really. There's just something really off-putting about body builders.
