Crazy Time!
Whoa (My Dawgs)
Whoa, Whoa, Whoa, (OK)
Whoa, Whoa (yo,yo,yo), Whoa, (yo, yo, yo)
Whoa, (yo) WHoa, (yo) Whoa, Whoa

Chorus 1
Wild Out!! (cmon)
Wild Out!! (uh huh)
Wild Out!! (If ya glad that L-O-X is Ruff Rydin now!!, cmon niggas)
Wild Out!! (whooo, what, what)
Wild Out!! (wild out, wild out, wild out)
Wild Out!! (All My niggas throw your guns up, yo ,yo)

(Sheek)
I know niggas in the clink
That send pipe bombs thru sinks
That got dough and still wanna stick y'all wit minks
Y'all would think y'all was jinxed wit a month of bad luck
I'm that huntin muthafucka and guess who da duck
I'm Elmer and you Daffy like the Looney cartoon
But this ain't no cartoon
My bullets clear out the room
I said "Boy, try to learn the fundamentals here, son."
Like that rooster and that chicken hawk I teach about a gun
I place my money on one
I'll pull it out, you'll run
I wave it in front of ya son and both y'all is done . . . Blah!
For God's sakes, what a nigga gotta do to make a half a million
Must I wave it at yo' children?
Run up in yo' buildin and go straight for the bank
Got the coke saran-wrapped at the bottom of the tank
I know those tricks
Ya suppliers, Papi and them, I know those dicks
Give me those bricks
Now, wild out niggas

Hook 2:
Wild Out!! (uh, uh, uh, uh, yo!)
Wild Out!! (ok)
Wild Out!! (If ya bouncin in da club actin like you cant get in!)
Wild Out!! (what, uh)
Wild Out!!(yo, yo, yo ,yo)
Wild Out!! (Yo, yo ,yo ,yo ,yo ,yo)

(Jadakiss)
For every check I deposit, it's just a new burner in the closet
And the big one'll kill you, ya brother and ya pops quick
Might take one slug to get y'all both
Cuz muthafucka, I'ma make sure I hit y'all close
And whoever's left guarenteed he gettin it all
Cuz his ass coulda ran when I was lookin at y'all
I get rap money, plus I'm in the hood wit dimes
And I ain't got no felonies, I'm good wit crimes
Not all dat wit macs, but i'm good wit nines
Great wit eights
Nigga, I'll heat ya face
And I got a hungry lawyer that'll eat the case
I used to cop so heavy that the block got mad
And niggas start callin up the cops like cabs
My 16's make niggas go to they dorm
Lock in and workout, then come out in the mornin
Wild out and blow a CO jus cuz it's borin
Wild out nigga

Hook 3:
Wild Out!! (yo, yo ,yo)
Wild Out!! (yo, yo ,yo)
Wild Out!!
(If ya just got outta jail from doin wild time, lets bawl out!)
Wild Out!! (yo!)
Wild Out!!(ok, cmon cmon)
Wild Out!! (uh, uh, uh, uh)

(Styles)
I pray to the Allah
But I'm too foul to go to the mosque
And if it's beef, I'ma murder you and go to da squad
Holiday Styles
Screw niggas far as they rap
I let my shotgun ball ya bat
Make ya coffin outta ya plaques
And bring ya ice to hell
Y'all fuck around dis album, I'll do life in jail
And if you under 21, you shouldn't listen to dis
You hate a nigga, go and kill him while he takin a shit
So, when the cops come and get him he'll be makin 'em sick
So, they could feel how I feel
I had a probable cause
You know da shit that happens when you don't follow da boss
Follow the rules
Kids get followed to school
And the thug niggas ball ya boo
Target practice was a horrible view
It's fucked up what tomorrow can do
And these niggas feel sorrow for who?
'Til we put you in da dirt, we ain't partin wit you
Wild out niggas

Hook 4
Wild Out!! (ya better back up dawg)
Wild Out!! (everybody, yo, yo)
Wild Out!!
(If a nigga grillin your chick, uh, and she wit you, fuck that!)
Wild Out!! (yo, what?)
Wild Out!!(Cmon, cmon, cmon, I cant hear you!, cmon)
Wild Out!! (If ya find ya nigga cheatin, lets go girls!, cmon now!)
Wild Out!! (uh, yo!)
Wild Out!! (cmon cmon)
Wild Out!! (If a nigga step on ya gotdamn shoes, fuck that!)
Wild Out!! (uh huh uh huh)
Wild Out!! (yo, yo, whoa!)
Wild Out!! (If a nigga owe you money, and aint paid ya yet!, fuck that!)
Wild Out!! (cmon, oohh)
Wild Out!! (what what!)
Wild Out!! (If ya workin at a job and the boss fire you, fuck HIM!)
Wild Out!! (uh!)
Wild Out!!(yo, yo ,LOX Niggas, LOX Niggas)
Wild Out!! Wild Out!! Wild Out!! Wild Out!!
(whoa, whoa, whoa, everybody!)
Wild Out!! Wild Out!! Wild Out!! [pause]
(anybody, young niggas, dead bitches!, tear it up!)
Wild Out!! Wild Out!! Wild Out!! Wild Out!! Wild Out!! Wild Out!!
Wild Out!! (<- extended, pause) Wild Out!! Wild Out!! (skinny nigga)
Who? Swizz Swizz Beatz (uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh)
2 thou- Millenium (Millenium)
Money makin plenty-em
you hear that
L-O-X, L-O-X, L-O-X, we here!

(Answering Machine Recording)
Yo, kiss man
I'm tired, I'm not doin a verse today, man
I'll do this shit tomorrow, man
Do da hook and everything, man

g-kit, Friday, 20 April 2007 10:50 (nineteen years ago)

From what I can see he's being pissy because no one's responded to a thread when he gets in a strop with some girl on the noise board, calls her a stalker a few times and asks for her posts to be deleted.

From what I can see no one other than Pash/Teeny/Keith/Stet can moderate the noise board right now and frankly this isn't worth them wasting their time on.

Maybe someone should designate some Noize mods. Personally I don't care, it's nothing to do with me.

I demand $500M; GET TO IT, ILX MODS

HI DERE, Friday, 20 April 2007 15:48 (nineteen years ago)

Dude this is lame. From what I can see every single mod request has been dealt with promptly other than your 'Delete Posts' request, and that's the Noise Board and no more to do with me than anything on I Love Comics or Ask Chaki or whatever. If they haven't, it's because mods have jobs and lives and therefore we need more of them, in more time zones.

(If I had my way Admin Log would be bought back as well because it's better to keep mods accountable. Then again I don't really feel any of the current mods are likely to do a Noodles either so whatever)

Matt DC, Friday, 20 April 2007 15:49 (nineteen years ago)

um, jon, no offense, but considering your history of banning tantrums and post delete/edits for purely personal reasons, you are kind of the last person who should criticize a mod for being unprofessional.

jessie monster, Friday, 20 April 2007 15:50 (nineteen years ago)

Hey guess what, the noise board "was" "mine". I'm hardly the only person on the noise board (or ILX) to remove posts.

you are doing such a good job making a valid argument for your points.

jessie monster, Friday, 20 April 2007 15:58 (nineteen years ago)

jessie, the noize board, at its inception, belonged to jon as much as the 'ask chaki' board belongs to chaki. this ain't no democracy. since jon now longer has admin privs for 'his' board I think the no confidence vote is a legit response.

elmo argonaut, Friday, 20 April 2007 16:01 (nineteen years ago)

(The funniest thing about this is that I actually agree with Jon on most of the key issues - more accountability for mods, more mods in general in more timezones, completely different set of rules for the Noise Board etc but every tantrum makes it less and less likely that these things get done)

Matt DC, Friday, 20 April 2007 16:01 (nineteen years ago)

ghost rider, Friday, 20 April 2007 16:35 (nineteen years ago)

Anyway, the specific issue at the moment w/r/t sub-board moderation is that banning a poster from a sub-board bans that poster from the entire
site. If the owner of "I Love AFL", for example, decides to ban, to
pick a name at random, Dan P, then that would ban Dan from all of ilx.
This is the specific reason that we've been a bit sparing w/r/t
handing out mod privs.

The heirarchy of moderator priviledges and the way it works is very
different to the way it worked on the old code. I'm still getting
used to it myself, TBH.

Personally speaking, I would prefer there to be a moderator log, both
for accountability's sake, and also because it makes moderating the
board quicker - when you see a request, you can click on the mod log,
and immediately see whether it's been dealt w/ or not. I defer to
Keith on this, basically because he got up and put the work into
coding this. I'm not going to try and get Keith to do anything he
doesn't want to do.

I always regarded the noise board as jon's board, basically because as
far as I'm aware, he set it up. I still look on it as being Jon's
board. At the moment, no-one is able to moderate the board, except for
site moderators, IE me, Teeny, Ned, Stet and Keith. Given that the
board is one of the busier ones, I think it should have at least two

Thanks pash. I've tried to keep the noise board out of people's hair as much as possible in the past.

Admin log will make this stuff less annoying. I'd nominate "sleep" and maybe one of the west coasters as mods, personally (non controversial choices).

Back to not being a huge cunt for a second: Can Jon not be given a generic ILX code and webspace and database and set up a parallel board which he moderates?

Mark C, Friday, 20 April 2007 16:41 (nineteen years ago)

i'd nominate gygax or jbr as west coast mods.

ian, Friday, 20 April 2007 16:42 (nineteen years ago)

(I actually suggested Gygax elsewhere and JBR seems a good call as well, assuming they want to do it)

Matt DC, Friday, 20 April 2007 16:43 (nineteen years ago)

(Not that it's my business really)

Matt DC, Friday, 20 April 2007 16:43 (nineteen years ago)

1) I don't have the noise board archives. I've asked about getting them and been ignored in the past.
2) This is silly.
3) I could you know, do this -- since the code is open source. My hosting provider does not support servlets. http://blog.dreamhosters.com/kbase/index.cgi?area=692
4) Noise board is part of ilx. A good part, like the pineal gland.

Shast or JBR would be good choices. Shasta was ILB mod yes?

4) Noise board is part of ilx. A good part, like the pineal gland.

Yeah but all that would be different would be behind the scenes - it'd still be listed as part of ILX, it'd look the same (unless you didn't want it to), and you'd have independence. If you need to change your hosting, I guess that's the price of freedom in this case.

Mark C, Friday, 20 April 2007 16:47 (nineteen years ago)

Freedom isn't free.

Catsupppppppppppppp dude ‫茄蕃‪, Friday, 20 April 2007 16:49 (nineteen years ago)

Pashmina, Friday, 20 April 2007 17:04 (nineteen years ago)

I'm already a mod (for IMM), so I've already got the scary priveleges in question, and I have no beef with any noisers, so I don't mind doing it. I also have no problem not doing it.

blueski, Friday, 20 April 2007 17:54 (nineteen years ago)

Greater accountability of moderators...good in theory obv. but in practice...is there really much point? how many times have a moderator's actions (or inaction) been called into question AND actually dealt with either way by whoever has the power to deal with it (other admins?). Graham long long ago...Jess temporarily when he deleted dozens of threads (which several thought was a good move - would that sort of action be judged on the majority verdict of admins only or ILX readers via some sort of POLL? ha).

This just sounds like someone looking for a scapegoat. Does 'Nazi admins/mods' really not suffice?

Even if this poll comes up with 23 Nays to 17 Yays...wtf does it prove and what would be done about it by anyone?

blueski, Friday, 20 April 2007 18:00 (nineteen years ago)

We're getting some productive discussion out of it. Having an admin long will force mods to self censor or have other mods right wrongs. IIRC there were a number of cases where moderators performed more nuanced moderation of another's moderation.

Catsupppppppppppppp dude ‫茄蕃‪, Friday, 20 April 2007 18:01 (nineteen years ago)

Maybe but is mods not reporting the fixes on the mod request threads significantly not as good a method?

Have there been any controversial moderator actions of late or is it just this supposed inaction that is causing controversy?

Also it would be good for different boards to have different moderators but imo NOT good for different boards to have different rules re reasons for banning, deleting etc. - not as long as all the boards remain together under the ILX banner and on the same server.

For different rules per board, separating boards from each other completely makes a lot more sense.

speaking for myself, and not for the mods in general, if someone takes the time to email me with a deletion request of something they wrote that has been reposted, i'll probably do it (i wasn't the one who did this deletion, but whatever). i know this isn't dead on with the old faq posted above, but i think we all remember the 1500 post clusterfuck a few months ago where stuff like this was specifically addressed. truth be told, my personal thinking is the same as n/a, but the way i look at it the only way to be fair about this, without letting my personal biases get involved, is to apply the same standards to everybody. which means that i'm not going to try to figure out who deserves to get posts removed and who doesn't, and what posts (only after specific request) are worthy of getting deleted.

Before the law sits a gatekeeper. To this gatekeeper comes a man from the country who asks to gain entry into the law. But the gatekeeper says that he cannot grant him entry at the moment. The man thinks about it and then asks if he will be allowed to come in later on. “It is possible,” says the gatekeeper, “but not now.” At the moment the gate to the law stands open, as always, and the gatekeeper walks to the side, so the man bends over in order to see through the gate into the inside. When the gatekeeper notices that, he laughs and says: “If it tempts you so much, try it in spite of my prohibition. But take note: I am powerful. And I am only the most lowly gatekeeper. But from room to room stand gatekeepers, each more powerful than the other. I can’t endure even one glimpse of the third.” The man from the country has not expected such difficulties: the law should always be accessible for everyone, he thinks, but as he now looks more closely at the gatekeeper in his fur coat, at his large pointed nose and his long, thin, black Tartar’s beard, he decides that it would be better to wait until he gets permission to go inside. The gatekeeper gives him a stool and allows him to sit down at the side in front of the gate. There he sits for days and years. He makes many attempts to be let in, and he wears the gatekeeper out with his requests. The gatekeeper often interrogates him briefly, questioning him about his homeland and many other things, but they are indifferent questions, the kind great men put, and at the end he always tells him once more that he cannot let him inside yet. The man, who has equipped himself with many things for his journey, spends everything, no matter how valuable, to win over the gatekeeper. The latter takes it all but, as he does so, says, “I am taking this only so that you do not think you have failed to do anything.” During the many years the man observes the gatekeeper almost continuously. He forgets the other gatekeepers, and this one seems to him the only obstacle for entry into the law. He curses the unlucky circumstance, in the first years thoughtlessly and out loud, later, as he grows old, he still mumbles to himself. He becomes childish and, since in the long years studying the gatekeeper he has come to know the fleas in his fur collar, he even asks the fleas to help him persuade the gatekeeper. Finally his eyesight grows weak, and he does not know whether things are really darker around him or whether his eyes are merely deceiving him. But he recognizes now in the darkness an illumination which breaks inextinguishably out of the gateway to the law. Now he no longer has much time to live. Before his death he gathers in his head all his experiences of the entire time up into one question which he has not yet put to the gatekeeper. He waves to him, since he can no longer lift up his stiffening body. The gatekeeper has to bend way down to him, for the great difference has changed things to the disadvantage of the man. “What do you still want to know, then?” asks the gatekeeper. “You are insatiable.” “Everyone strives after the law,” says the man, “so how is that in these many years no one except me has requested entry?” The gatekeeper sees that the man is already dying and, in order to reach his diminishing sense of hearing, he shouts at him, “Here no one else can gain entry, since this entrance was assigned only to you. I’m going now to close it.”

I almost refused tbh because I knew we'd get this pointless wank, but as I've deleted posts at the request of Dom, NRQ and various others I thought I might as well show consistency.

The initial cut and pastes are innocuous enough and it's of no consequence to me whether they're there or not, ditto the cached link. I've deleted the posts I was to, Lex is perfectly capable of fighting his own battle if he wants to.

I would say I've got better things to do this evening than argue about but I haven't really, I just can't be fucked because, well it doesn't really matter to me either way.

The request was for the cut and paste, and the following post essentially going 'lol gay' as well, which I think I forgot to redelete. I almost refused tbh because I knew we'd get this pointless wank, but as I've deleted posts at the request of Dom, NRQ and various others I thought I might as well show consistency.

I thought about deleting the LOL gay post myself right after posting it FWIW but I decided to be controversial.

I'd like to hear a convincing argument for why the mods would rather say "your cut-and-paste of another poster's words got deleted, deal with it" instead of "your embarrassing old post that you voluntarily put on the board yourself was quoted by another poster, deal with it."

Posting something embarrassing may or may not break the "don't-be-a-dick" rule. Depending on what the post is and its context, it may make sense for someone to ask for it to be deleted.

Copying someone else's posts onto a thread intended to make fun of the original posters, regardless of whether it is meant to be mean-spirited or good-natured, does break the "don't-be-a-dick" rule because you are taking someone else's words out of context and putting them somewhere else where they may be used against the original poster without his/her knowledge. The original poster did not consent to have their words put on that thread and, since they do retain copyright, they do have the right to ask for those posts to be deleted.

Is that convincing?

(Yes, this applies to the excelsior threads, too; to my knowledge, no one's complained about them.)

Good points, HI DERE, although I was going off the same assumption as Jon, which was that quoting was considered fair use unless it's something offboard or otherwise stalker-y.

It's an interesting question and not one that's easily resolved; either the people being made fun of are going to be mad because they have no avenue to stop their words from proliferating on the site in ways harmful to them, or the people making fun are going to be mad because their commentary is getting censored at someone else's request.

I do think that if everyone tries to not be a dick, the question becomes moot.

HI DERE, Wednesday, 16 July 2008 18:00 (seventeen years ago)

In my IRL job, I write a feature called "What the Messageboards Are Saying" on our Web site. In it, I quote sports threads and link back to the original posts. Even with copyright, there's a fair use law that applies to me.

You could make the argument that it applies to anyone who posts here.

Pleasant Plains, Wednesday, 16 July 2008 18:07 (seventeen years ago)

I agree, but that'll never happen. I think the question might also become moot if everybody just adapted a stiff upper lip about anything that wasn't genuinely threatening or libelous, which has at least a shred of a better chance of happening.

btw i do have confidence in ilx moderation, i just think this is a little silly

n/a, Wednesday, 16 July 2008 18:28 (seventeen years ago)

The crux of the "fair use" argument is "Is it fair use on this messageboard to use someone else's words to make fun of them on another thread?" If it is, those posts should not be deleted; however, if the posts themselves break another conduct rule (such as "don't be a dick"), perhaps the correct response is to ban the people doing this when complaints are made?

i mean, i'd like mods to go back and delete all the stupid shit i wrote on ILX like five years ago but i have a feeling it isn't going to happen. but if i get jon to quote it, then i can have it deleted?

No. Regardless of whether someone reposts them to make fun of you or not, the original posts aren't being touched, much as in the case that sparked this the original posts made by Lex weren't touched. You aren't really arguing a point here beyond "I don't like touchy posters".

The whole "don't be a dick" rule would mean a lot more if some of the mods weren't dicks pretty often. Not that I don't think they shouldn't be allowed to have opinions and be blunt like everyone else here, a lot of posters are at their best when they're total dicks. It just makes it all a little harder to accept the value judgements being handed down sometimes.

n/a, Wednesday, 16 July 2008 18:43 (seventeen years ago)

If you call people out on threads where they are making idiotic or dickish pronoucnements, well, it could lead to a decent debate about why this is an idiotic or dickish thing to say. Or it could lead to a pointless clusterfuck.

But if everyone just cut and pasted things they disagreed with or thought were idiotic to another board where the poster in question might not see it, just to go 'lol dick', well that's actually detrimental to debate.

Matt DC, Wednesday, 16 July 2008 18:53 (seventeen years ago)
